Wattpad is where so many of our favorite authors started… posting their works in progress, their fan fiction, and their completed stories for all of us book-lovers to read! FREE. I said it. Everything on there is free for us to read, and the author put it there! Some of them even post free novellas (from their popular series). Like Colleen Hoover (I linked hers up below). :D

It kind of reminds me of Fictionpress, in fact, which I was obsessed with back in 2009 (when I was looking to read more of the Sookie & Twilight worlds, and discovered all of that fan fiction) to 2011, when I discovered more “bad boy” romance. Where I indulged my senses in my beloved romance angst love triangles, a la Thoughtless, and Avoiding Commitment, and even Fifty Shades of Grey (although back then it was called “Master of the Universe” on that site. Yep! Some of ‘em started as “free reads” for me, back in the day on sites like Wattpad!

Screen shot of the start of this huge hit “After” by Anna Todd on Wattpad’s page!

Are you a fan of Anna Todd’s The After Series? Her huge of a new adult romance hit found it’s wings there, as a free fan-fiction piece about a girl falling in love with a singer that so many – in real life – were in love with, in fact!

And Zoe from Wattpad just contacted me with a fun list of her suggested free reads! She says she’s going to share some of what’s trending, maybe even each week!

“I was so psyched to see that some of your readers and contributors already know about Wattpad and have read some of our fave books (we also love Second Chance Romance here)! …Here’s a short list to start… These also happen to be some of my personal faves…”

Yay!! Thank you Zoe. We definitely love recommendations here. Gives us a great starting point! :D So here it is… popular Wattpad freebies that are still available, ready and waiting to be devoured.

Zoe’s recommendations:

  1. Teaching Mia: Won a 2014 Wattys award. New Adult, travel abroad, bad boy
  2. The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield: On the Romance featured list with 26 million reads on Wattpad!
  3. Aftershocks (Six-Alarm Sexy Prequel): Kristine Cayne’s Six-Alarm Sexy series follows Seattle Fire Department’s station 44 team of rescue firefighters. Romance with action and suspence thrown in!
  4. The Love Curse: Paranormal romance—featuring Greek mythology and cupid—with over 10 million reads
  5. Say You Will: The first book in Kate Parry’s Summerhill series, this contemporary romance won a Wattys Award in 2014
and I wanted to point these out, myself!
  1. DECOY by Amber L. Johnson <— I’ll start us off with Amber L. Johnson’s work that she is posting for free on Wattpad! This is the author of our beloved “Puddle Jumping” so I can imagine how amazing this new piece will be! She says: “Decoy is being posted on Wattpad as an original story for free if you’re interested in following along…” Plus! She’s my fellow ghost hunter (we ghost-hunted together sneakily at the Adolphus hotel in Texas), and she’s so much fun! Tee hee!!
  2. Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover is on Wattpad!!!
  3. Elle Casey!! Did you guys know Elle Casey has a few free reads on Wattpad?
  4. And Zoe also sent me over these links (and you’ll see SO many of our favorites there). I was so excited! She says: “P.S. for any fellow reviewers or voracious readers, we just got a ton of super-quality first in a series stories from top Smashwords writers in ContemporaryParanormal, and New Adult subgenres. Some great stuff that will be up for free for a limited time (around 3 months)!” <— eekeek You’ll see why my eyes bugged out. Awesome freebies!!!
So what are these awards that they are winning? Zoe sent over that info, too!

And… Wattpad is teaming up with Harlequin! She says:

Yippee!!!! A post about wattpad . That’s where my reading frenzy first began. I’ve found so many wonderful reads on wattpad as well as some really talented authors . The following are my personal favourites. I’m sure you guys will enjoy reading them.
1) Addicted to meth By Englishtoffee17: currently reading the sequel to this, which is titled strung out. Lol…I should mention that nobody is addicted to any type of drug in this book, it’s the H’s name that’s meth.
2) All books by xXdemolitionloverXx. She is one of my favorite authors. Her werewolf series is my second best werewolf story ( and of course my other best is With everything I am by Kristen Ashley).
You should read ‘the alpha meets the rogue’, ‘the alpha meets his match’ and Liam before you read any other of her books. Dylan , Leila and Liam are my favorite characters!!!.
3) This list would definitely not be complete without including another of my favorite author ‘jerileekaye’. All her books are really great. I should point out that she wrote a short story to promote the movie for the book The fault in our stars by John green. It’s titled wingless and beautiful. It’s an awesome book!!!!
4) Wattpad love by cold_lady19. The hero here is kind of a hermit/recluse and he can be really annoying at times, but u know how it is with the bad boys, no matter how annoying they are, we still love them ;) . It also has a sequel too titled ‘growing up’.
5)The bad boys girl (sequel is the bad boys heart) by jessgirl93. Cole Stone is the ultimate!!!!!
6)Signed, sealed, delivered by Avril Tremayne. Hott!!
7)Changed fate and twisted fate by esoteric918.
8) The replacement girlfriend and late summer rain by ‘aubreyeatshearts’. The first one is not complete yet but it’s still worth reading and it was the first good book I read on wattpad. The second one was a really touching short story.
9) As mentioned above, mischievous Mrs Maxwell by Ninya Tippet. Really hilarious!!

These are all my favourite reads and some of them I have read more than once.
Hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did. Will let you know if new favourites pop up.

Never used Wattpad before, have to look into it. Used when I was reading a lot of Twilight fanfic. Still following one story-Quarterback Sneak by Jayhawkbb. Soo good, but taking forever to complete!

I loved The Michevous Mrs. Maxfield! It is one of the books in Wattpad that I really enjoyed reading and was successful in putting a smile and sometimes a good smirk on my face when I was reading it. You should read this Maryse and everyone.
