It’s another day of reader recommendations and big book love, and even though we seem to all have a ton of books in our readers, we still want help picking “which one” (old or new!). Me too… I’m right there with you guys.
Case in point:
bev: I’m not sure it is exactly what I’m in the mood for now. I keep thinking of when I first read At Peace. That is what I want. Not a KA but that feeling of being immediately hooked and falling into the story. Maybe finding something a bit different. I just remembered this was when everyone was calling these books crack.
Amy: I miss being in book-love, too.
It doesn’t seem to happen as often anymore…kind of like when I binged on YA and “grown up” PNR a few years ago, and then after a while that genre lost its magic for me. I guess that’s why it’s good to mix it up, right?
Maryse: Yeah… I find I can put them down more often than I’d like to. I miss my utter freak-out book-love-fog of Sweet Dreams and Beautiful Disaster and Thoughtless and a few others that had me forced to put them down because of work, and barely able to function because I was in book-love. LOL!!!!
Jean: I think I need angst or craziness or different genre or just some hot sex…..lol! As you can see, I’m undecided! I want that kind of book you and Maryse were talking about…..can’t put down, can’t wait to get back to it, and the flutters in my tummy!! Any suggestions? I should be picking from one of the 950 I have downloaded…..
Amy: Jean…go back to Maryse’s I’ll-never-forgive-you post! THAT will give you some ideas.
So we’ll consider that one the first BIG recommendation of the day… but maybe there’s one calling you below? OR maybe some of you have an ABSOLUTE tried-and-true recommendation for us?
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

FIVE-STAR READER RECOMMENDATIONS (and bargain finds!) (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).
A Different Blue by Amy Harmon <— MEANINGFUL & POIGNANT READ ALERT! Jean is loving this oldie-but-goodie! “I went back to my TBR and decided to try something I downloaded in 2013. I’m reading A Different Blue by Amy Harmon. Wow you guys! Her writing is just exquisite and her words so meaningful and powerful. Loving it!” and Lisa agrees: “I love, love, love A Different Blue by Amy Harmon. Her BEST book and I’ve read them all!!!!!”

Pia LOVED this ENTIRE series! “I just finished the whole Stark and Stark International series by J Kenner – 6 books and 6 novellas. Got that FSOG feeling to them and I loved them. Difficult to move on to another book and I needed to find something different.”
Legend (The REAL series Book 6) by Katy Evans <— FIGHTER ALERT! LisaM loved this recent release! “Last night I finished Legend by Katy Evans!!! Amazing!!! As all Katy’s books!! - These Old Shades (Alastair-Audley Book 1) by Georgette Heyer <— HISTORICAL ROMANCE WITH BIG AGE DIFFERENCE!! bev found us this one at a bargain price AND OH BOY is she excited. “Gah!! Is Michelle here? These Old Shades… I love this book. Have been wanting to do a re-read for a long while. I used to read it all the time but been over a decade, maybe. This is a Georgian HR and I loved the MCs. There is a big age difference. Heyer is credited with helping establish the modern HR and hero types. Id LOVE for a br. Though not for everyone. Maryse please add to sales. Pretty please. Rarely on sale & usually like 9.99.”
- Contractual by Alice Tribue <— SHE’S AN ESCORT WITH ONLY ONE CLIENT ALERT! “…he consumes my every thought and I’d rather play my part in his bed than to spend one day without him.” and it’s super bargain-priced today!
- Ten Below Zero by Whitney Barbetti <— TUMULTUOUS READ ALERT! Super-bargain priced today, and Rachel recommends it! “I can definitely recommend it for the feels! It may also make you cry, but it won’t leave you needing a hug or a cocktail.” and Michelle agrees! “I will second Ten Below Zero and have already raved about it on here. It’s a tumultuous read but has a HEA if that pushes anyone to try it…or to chase the scary away..”
In the Fields by Willow Aster <— EMOTIONAL ALERT! Jean found us this one that is super-bargain priced! “Did anyone ever read In the Fields by Willow Aster? …my clicker finger is twitchy!” and Amy says: “Jean, I loved that book!! Minimal angst but a LOT of emotion, especially from the unfairness of her situation in that time period. I *know* you would love it!”
- Accidentally on Purpose by L.D. Davis <— GUT-TWISTING ANGST ALERT! Amy also recommends this one! “Have you read Accidentally On Purpose? It wasn’t a 5-star read for me, but oh MAN it had some crazy gut-twisting angst!! I had trouble putting that one down. Fair warning, she’s a cheater but she doesn’t come away from it all with no consequences. Honestly, I could compare the angst and feels to Avoiding Commitment.”
- Convenient Strangers by Cara McKenna <— M/M ROMANCE ALERT!Pia is loving M/M ROMANCE and recommends these! “I love m/m books though I haven’t read that many. I started with Kele Moon, then moved on to Cara McKenna and Riley Hart. Cara McKenna is my absolute favorite. Have you read Stray Hearts and Convenient Strangers by her? I could need some m/m recommendations – maybe I should try Strong Signal?????“
- Backwoods by Cara McKenna <— CARA MCKENNA ALERT! (We all know I LOVE her risqué romance reads) and Jennifer recommends her M/M romance! “I second the recs for Cara Mckenna’s mm novellas! They were great. Backwoods, Shivaree, and Getaway were really good- Fabi you’ll like them.”
Strong Signal (Cyberlove Book 1) by Megan Erickson & Santino Hassell <— M/M ROMANCE THAT HAS FABI WRAPPED AROUND IT’S FINGER ALERT! Fabi recommends this recently released M/M romance: “I don’t know what magic trick Hassell uses to bring his characters instantly alive and relatable. I fall in love with every character he writes…. Strong Signal merited a day off from work. It’s been forever since I’ve skipped out due to a book, but these characters have me wrapped around their little fingers and I couldn’t break away for anything. Who else reads mm? Anne? Somebody read Strong Signal and share the love with me.
…Gah! It’s so good. … I think it’s about to get heart wrenching.
I don’t want it to, but I just know its gonna.“
- Fighting to Forgive (The Fighting Series Book 2) by J.B. Salsbury <— FIGHTER ALERT! Theresa is LOVING this series! “Hey Maryse…just finished the second book in a great MMA fighter series by JB Salsbury. The Fighting Series is absolutely amazing! The first two books, Fighting for Flight and Fighting to Forgive, provide multilayered characters that are beautifully flawed, a rich supporting cast of characters that provide humor and a crazy sense of family and friendship, steamy romance, and of course protective/bada$$ alphas round out this delicious series! Great read from start to finish…looking forward to the next books in the series! Happy reading!“
- Half-Blood : A Covenant Novel by Jennifer L. Armentrout <— Theresa also recommends THIS series! “I just finished the Covenant Series by Jennifer Armentrout!!! It was absolutely amazing…a thrilling ride from the first word to the last! I could not put these books down…written with humor, honesty, and passion…these books had me literally hanging on every word. Introduce yourself to Aiden and Seth if you haven’t done so already…looking forward to reading both the Lux series and the Titan series (continuing Seth’s story).“
Ricochet by Keri Lake <— THIS IS THE ONE I’m jumping into this weekend!! Dark read and from the recommendations, it sounds awesome. I haven’t read the blurb. 😀 I’m going in blind! Jean: “Glad I could share the news about Ricochet! My girlfriend and I are still talking about it days later! You gotta read it Maryse!” and Pia agrees! “I started Ricochet by Keri Lane and this is just perfect. I am around 80% and I just LOVE this book. So dark and so much angst – just what I needed.”

Also, I believe Eleanor will be doing some confessing of her own in this book. This is up for pre-order and will magically appear on my kindle March 15th!! Great list Maryse! One Day Soon sounds great!
I DNF Over You by H.M. Ward. It was just so bad I just couldn’t keep reading. I was excited about this book cause I love Pride and Prejudice but it was such a disappointment 🙁
Starting The Lie next.
Okay thank you so much for letting me know, Anne… I was following your comments hoping for an update. 😀
Yeah I want to read The Lie, and Ricochet next!!
I started a new release last night called Husband Sit. Wives hire the heroine to keep their husbands entertained while they are away!! It is really good so far!!!
Niki, ummm is this a porn(ish) book?
The Lie is great
LOL Niki. That sounds hilariously unique (and loads of trouble!!)
Now I have to look that up.
Haha!!! Not yet…. The heroine needs money for her sisters hospital bills and she house sits but heard about husband sitting that pays lots of money so she goes for it and the first husband doesn’t want to cheat on his wife even though she is on holiday with her girlfriend..and the heroine falls for him because he is a great guy and then… that’s where I am at 😉 It is a unique book and I don’t like cheating in books but it really isn’t cheating… anyhow Kylie Scott had given it a shout out so I decided to go for it 🙂

Do you have any idea how much I LOVE that Half-Blood is up there??? *happy Covenant dance*
And Disarmed sounds like it could get crazy…and right up our reading alley. 😉
Oh Robyn I’m so glad to know the pre-order is up! I’m posting it!! 😀
Help! Recently I read a blurb (I swear here, bc you’re my source for book news/reviews) about an upcoming book & I can’t remember the title or find it anywhere! Plot: A reclusive author uses a stock photo on the back of her books so later when she’s forced to make a public appearance she hires the girl whose photo it was to pose as the author. I think it said the book series got turned into a movie or something & the author regrets not being herself? I can’t remember…It sounded different than 10K words…
Yes to the Covenant series, by JLA!! I’m currently on book #3, Deity. Love Love Love!!
Still reading The Perfect Life which so far is not as intense as you would think, but I have a feeling (since I read the prologue) that the intense is coming! Certainly different than what I thought it was going to be.
Love the cover of One Day Soon. Think that’s my next read. One-clicking A different Blue and Ricochet too.
The Lie is so good! Oh the feels!
Loving The Lie too. At 65% and can’t put it down.
Gah, between The Lie and Ricochet, you guys are killing me with reading excitement!!
I. Want. The. Confessions. Of. Marcus. Stearns. So much so that I want to sleep with my kindle with an alarm set to notify me when it goes live.
I haven’t had much time to read, been writing a ton. I’ve written over 10k words in 6 days, (while working and corraling kidlet activities… I’m bushed!) need a break!!! hoping to jump back into Ricochet. The Ground Rules Undone will be mine, and then on the 29th there is a new book in the Beautiful Bastard series. Beautiful Boss which comes out of 2/29, about Will & Hanna *squee* Calgon take me away LOL! AND!!! Someone I missed that yesterday was National Drink Wine Day… obviously I am overworked… Miss you all! xoxo
YAY for Grey and her writing!!! And her reading. And her future wining!!! 😀
Just finished The Lie and loved it! So many feels! I even cried in one scene. It was perfect! 5 stars!
Me too Anne!! Just finished and I agree….wonderful. This subject matter (infidelity) is handled so well in this book. 5 Sponge Bob undies stars for me!!
One Day Soon by A. Meredith Walters is a must have. She never disappoints.
I started Strong Signal – one of Fabis recs. I am about 55% and love it so far. It had a bit of a slow start for me most because I am not into computer games at all 🙂 But after I hit 5% I was hooked. I almost cried around 50% when the scenery changed. It was so sweet. Now I just need to go back reading 🙂
Started on Dark Room (Society X) this morning…..HOLY COW!!!! Dark room…duh, no names, no exchanging phone numbers, AND no speaking! *fanning self* Definitely gonna be a HOT weekend and I’m not talking temperatures ladies!!!!
Glad you’re liking it Pia. That scene had tears in my eyes too. That soldier on deployment plot is usually too much for me but this one was ok.
I’m at 86% of Love Me Tenor and its another winner.
I wish Jennifer would come back and tell me if for sure if The Other Man was a cliffhanger.
That’s funny Lisa.
It is from the movie Up. Maryse was comparing her attention to the dog when he sees a squirrel.
I think it would also fit with how they hoard their acorns and us with our books.
Diana i’ll post it and see what we can come up with. 🙂
OMG My dog and squirrels… don’t even get me started.
Lisa I agree! It was handled so perfectly. Karina Halle never disappoints.
DG I loved The Dark Room! It was hot but still so sweet.
Think I am going to read One Day Soon next 🙂
I’m in the minority with The Lie. I really DID like it a lot, but to be honest I preferred Love In English. For me, The Lie was more emotional than intense, and I need intensity in a book dealing with infidelity. But I would say it’s good for those who prefer a “safer” cheating read, I guess you could say.
Can not seem to settle on a book in the last couple of days. Need coffee & carbs, then decide.
Oh I need intensity too… and Love in English was just AWESOME.
Good to know Amy. I’m excited to try it! 😀
Grey- thanks for the reminder about Beautiful Boss; think Will & Hanna were my fav book couple.
I have The Lie on my tbr list. Have to agree with Amy in that the books in this inter-related series, with the exception of maybe The Pact, have been different levels of intensity, but emotional, not angsty gut-twisting intensity like Love In English.
Now back to The Perfect Life, where yep the sh*t as promised from the prologue has finally hit the fan…
I mist make an announcement of happiness!!!
I AM LOVING RICOCHET!!!!!!!!! OMG THE WRITING, the story, the characters, I AM SO INTO THIS!!!!
Everyone who hasn’t read it yet, LET’S!!!! BUDDY READ!
Lol Maryse. So glad you’re loving Ricochet. I jumped on it as soon as Jean recommended it and I loved it too.
How far into it are you, Maryse?
30%!!
After Jean’s reaction to Ricochet the other day and now your reaction, I’m in!
My last couple of reads have been good but haven’t blown me away, and I want something that will rock my world right now…and it sounds like this one will. 😀
Maryse…your dog and squirrels, huh?
I better not even go there after Lisa’s “squirrel” comment on the other post. 😛
Missing the Book Funk…a lot. Some good reads lately..but no Book hangover inducing reads for a while
LOL. Amy and Lisa you guys crack me up. Beavers. *snort* 😛
Speaking of which… so I was walking my tiny dog around my block. I have an escape-proof harness for her, and I usually hold her leash as we walk. She’s calm and collected and curious but not overly so, and so she’s easy to walk.
One day, I decided to clip her leash to my “over the shoulder-diagonal-across my chest” dog bag (treats, water, poop-bags, phone and keys) This thing is awesome. So I was “hands-free” that day, instead of just holding her leash…
And she saw a squirrel before I did, and TOOK OFF as fast as she could after it, but her leash was securely attached to the bag, which was securely wrapped around me, so it snapped her right back to me.. mid-air!!
She was so offended!!! LOL!!!!!
But I’m glad I realized that, because had I been holding her leash… depending on the grip I had on the handle, she may have ripped the whole leash right out of my hands considering the momentum and speed she took off at… *whooooo*
Lesson learned, without having to have chased her through the woods! LOL!
Was going to read Red Card next but buddy read Ricochet it is!! 😉
YAY CHERYL & AMY!!!!
Hey Jewels…
Why don’t you read Ricochet with us? So many loved it, and I’m loving it as we speak!! 😀
Lol, good thing you have little dogs. Could you imagine if you had a lab?
So glad you love Ricochet Maryse. I finished it two days ago and already feel like starting all over again 🙂
Oh I am up for BR Ricochet! Its by Keri Lake right? Also does it end on a CH?
OMG, your doggie literally squirreled!!! She really is her pet-mommy’s girl. 😉
Just read it has very graphic violence. Mmm I am not sure this book is for me then. I don’t particularly enjoy graphic violence.
Anne it doesn’t (as far as I know) and it is a standalone. There will be more books but featuring other characters. 😀
bev… my dog is as big as a fox squirrel (or small). LOL! And yes… relief!! Had she been bigger, she would have pulled me with her…
LOL Amy!!! She is… squirrels and *squirreling* is what she’s all about.
Maryse! I just found out that Kresley Cole has book 3 of her Game Makers series called The Player coming out April 12th. It is up for pre-order. I’ve read the first two books and they were HOT!
Holy Hotness!!!! Finished Dark Room ….at the ball field. Could NOT put it down….. HOT and sweetness all rolled up into a Parker!! *swoon*
YAY Robyn!!! I added it to her reading order and the main book releases page!!! 😀
Wow… DG… it must have been SO good for you to finish it there!!! LOL!
*looks up Dark Room…*
I loved A Different Blue and Half Blood. Good recommendations!
I’ve been at a conference, so I missed all the Ricochet buzz – must go check that out.
I am reading Uprooted, By Naomi Novik. The perfect fantasy read. So much magic. Great writing. Nice detail. A wee bit of romance. Just under 500 pages. For my fellow fantasy lovers – this is a must read. Bev – I know you’re not huge on fantasy, but I think you might like this. Tesaa – for sure. Michelle – yup. Fabi – yup. Who else did I miss??? It’s not cheap. I got it on loan from my library (e-book). So worth it.
Thanks MichelleS. I just downloaded a sample. 🙂 Maybe for after I get off my mm reading kick. I’m on Out of the Blues now. I’m only at 20% but I don’t think it’s going to be as good as the previous two I just read. It’s already stretched the bounds of plausibility a couple of times. Next I want to jump on those novellas Pia and (who else was it? ugh, my memory is shot) recommended. So maybe I can take a peek at Uprooted afterwards. I was on a PNR/Fantasy kick and before that a CR kick. I’m just having so much fun reading this year.
Maryse, is there any chance you can ask your FB crew if anyone knows for sure whether The Other Man ends on a cliffhanger? Pretty please?
Oh. Em. Gee. Bev – I missed the sale of These Old Shades. I’m gonna go cry now. It’s 9.99 again.
Amy and Grey – I want to read anything Tiffany Reisz writes in the Original Sinners world. One of my all time favorite series. Soren. Nora. Kingsley. Just love them all. So amazingly wicked and complicated. Glad it doesn’t have to end, even if it’s just a novella. I’ll take it.
Fabi, one of the reviews says cliffy alert. And its a dramatic one.I guessed your trying to avoid looking at them, lol.
I went back to Racing the Sun that I had left at 40% a couple of weeks ago. I am at 70% now and liking it!
MichelleS, I Love fantasy. Capital L.
I’ve read her first book when it came out, awhile ago now. I will see if my library has it. I remember seeing buzz for it. Definitely check library for These Old Shades.
Bev have you read Edenbrooke? Just got it the other day and looks good 🙂
I sure was Bev. Thank you!
MichelleS, I have the first three books of the Original Sinners series…I remember how much love y’all have given it around here. 😀 Hmmmm, I wonder what year I picked those up so I can figure out when to read ’em…
Ricochet…LOVING it!!! *This* is what I’m talking about when I say I want unique stories.
Amy – you haven’t read Original Sinners? OMG. That’s like Amy 101. No brainer. You will LOVE how crazy wicked and twisted it is. And the back stories of all the characters that unfold over time. Just read it. INCOMING PEANUTS. yay. Haven’t gotten to throw a good peanut at you in a while.
Miss a day and wow! Squirrelly dogs, peanuts, and Uprooted, By Naomi Novik which you know I’m gonna look up. Fantasy romance are some tempting words. I finished Every Which Way. Other than a few twists, super sweet. I wanted more epilogue it was so sweet. Those twists were fun and OMGish, though. I then read Vegas Love by Jillian Dodd. It was more sweetness and I loved every second. However after all that sweetness, I needed angst, so I’m reading the book up there Out of Focus. Nothing major yet, but I just started. Wish me major angsty luck. 🙂
Tessa…there is a short story from the author (I’ll have to find it for you) about “them” that reads like an epilogue, and it is just sooooo sweet. 😀 Also, at some point she is going to release another book with them. Yay us!!!
Believe it or not, I softened a bit toward “the a$$” in the second book. 😉
*ducks and covers head*
Alright, ALRIGHT!! I’ll start the series when I get to that year, Michelles!
*MichelleS
😉
Just finished Artistic License. I enjoyed it a lot. I like that the heroine wad actually written as an introvert and shy. We are not just told that she is.
Bev, I love books like that. Where we get to know the characters as if we were meeting them in person instead of being told about them.
MichelleS, does Amy read dark? Other than The Tied Man, I don’t remember her mentioning any. Original Sinners is pretty dark, and twisted BDSM. I’ve never seen Amy talk about a BDSM book. Maybe I just didn’t recognise it as such.
Me, on the other hand, gave it a four or five star rating. 😉 Read it based on your rec.
So, Amy, if you like dark, then I’m throwing my peanut along with MichelleS’
Have any of you read Cottonwood by R. Lee Smith? I just saw it mentioned and one clicked.
Not yet, but it’s in my radar. I really wish I read as fast as Michelle and Tessa. I could get to more books.
It is a very quiet this Sunday.:-) Lets shake it up a bit. A little MFK and getting to know you. Or I’m just being lazy for one more minute.
MFK: Tom Hanks, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston.
Some of these qs came from post I’ve read.
20(not really) questions:
Break the spine on a book?
Do you review your reads?
Do you visit the library?
A song that would make a great premise for a story?
If going on one of those dating meet ups and had to bring a book that says something about you, what book?
1. Gah , no!
2. Sometimes. Sometimes I’m just rushing to the next book.
3. Definitely. Books are too expensive not to.
4. Seize the Day by Avenged Sevenfold. The song is so heart rending that a book would probably destroy me. *has sudden idea for story*
5. I have to think on that. It might be my first gut feeling, but I have to think.
Amy! Seriously… you haven’t read the Original Sinners series yet. I’ve saved up my peanuts for the past couple weeks… and I’ve got a hell of an arm. Just sayin’!
Ricochet! Yep, I am loving it too! mmm, yes please! I finished writing early today. So I’m hoping to finish the book today too. Whew, it’s been a LONG week!
SOOOO excited though, The Ground Rules Undone comes out on TUESDAY!!!! *Squee* Cue dancing in a meadow Julie Andrews style… with a few Jim Carrey pelvic thrusts for good measure… oh yes, I can hardly wait!!!
1. No. Definitely try not to.
2.Yes. Always now.
3. Sometimes.
4.Renegade by X Ambassadors.
5. Strong Signal by Santino Hassell and Megan Erickson. (Kai and Garrett *dreamy sigh*)
Beeeev! Where’s yours?
On the MKF, Reese! I’d rather do Tom Riddle and he was creepy evil. Why them? Alright, M, Hardy. At least he’s not slim. F, Hiddleton. Maybe the Loki thing will show up in bed. K, Hanks. Because he seems like that uncle who’s super sweet. I do not want to F my uncle! 😛
1. Always. Sorry, lol.
2. Never. Well, just what I comment on here, I guess.
4. Nothing Man by Bruce Springsteen. This song. Because in one of our books it could end happy.
5.This one is hard. Probably Anne of Green Gables.
Tessa, Tom Riddle. LMAO. Seriously. I don’t know why I chose them. *shrugs*
How about Steve McQueen, Steve Buscemi, Stephen King?
Or
Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Johnny Cash?
Ok M. Tom Hiddleston, F. T.Hardy (yum) and K. Hanks (he’s too old for me lol)
1. Never!!
2. Yes! All the time.
3.Sometimes
4. All I Ask-Adele. Oh its sad but still I can totally see something like that happening in a book.
5. That’s a tough one! I really don’t know lol
M. Hanks. I think he just seems like a great husband.
F. Hiddleston. His voice.
K. Hardy. I do not say this easily. He’s a dog lover.:-)
I guess its time for me to read The Ground Rules Rewritten since book 3 is coming out Tuesday 🙂
Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Johnny Cash
Finally, three that I actually know. hahaha
F Depp cause he’s sexy
M Travolta cause he’s Italian
K Cash cause I don’t know what K means but I don’t want F or M for him.
🙂
On another note. I just finished Out of the Blues and while I had a few issues with this book, the last 20% killed it. It was amazing. I guess these mm books is where I’m getting my angst fix lately. Every one of them ties me up in knots. All are hard won love stories.
Fabi, K is kill.
Do you know what your next read will be?
Fabi, Steve McQueen

Thanks Bev.
I think I’m going to hit those Cara McKenna novellas Pia recommended next. When I leave the mm genre I want to do it on a high note. Although, I have to admit, I’ve been loving these music themed plots in the last couple of books. Makes me want to break from reading and devote more time to my guitar.
In fact, I may take a little break from reading now and either watch TV or go torture my fingers a bit.
The Steves are as bad as the Toms!
Johnnys
Depp – M
Cash – F
Travolta – K
Fabi, I think you will like them. And music plays a part. Very atmospheric. Somehow I read the last two but never the first one. I just like that word, Shivaree.
Tessa, its not suppose to be easy. 🙂
Plus I think McQueen is handsome. Buscemi I love as an actor. Makes me want to watch ConAir again. Remember when he was with that little girl? Freaked me out.
Oh Bev….I love you’re games….even when Im half a day too late to play.
1. Yes and I dog ear corners.
2. Only on goodreads
3. Rarely visit the library
4. Let Me Love You by Jack Garrart (perfect song)
Or Dark Times by The Weekend (this should be Remy’s song…or any of the fighters & f@#$ers.)
5. I’d take Marcus Zuzaks The Messenger to a date. It would highlight my love of Aussie authors and pretty clearly illuatrate my warped sense of humor.
MFK:
Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Gosling
Ryan Seacrest
I got a loan for Never Never part 2 but I’m not sure I want to read it. It’s been forever since I read part 1 and y’all didn’t really like part 3. Seems like a waste of time.
Bev, you’ve read those? Cool.
Ha ha Bev.
1. Sometimes
2. Sometimes
3. Unsteady by X Ambassadors
Have to think on this…
MFK:
Eric Decker (in this fantasy I’m much younger too)
Tom Hardy or Charlie Hunnam or hey it’s a fantasy so both!!
Tom Cruise
Oops #3 should be Yes for library then #4 is Unsteady
Anne, I’m with you on the Ground Rules. When I’m done with Ricochet I’m starting that series! Yeh, finally it will be complete with book 3 on tuesday! 😉
mmmm, I’ll join in for the MFK version of the Ryans…
M- Ryan Gosling
F- Ryan Reynolds
K- Ryan Seacrest
I’m going to go look up the lyrics of the songs. I want to read what the stories could be.
Lisa, Mary Gosling. To wake up to that face every day…yes. F, Reynolds. I still think of him of the guy on Two guys and a girl, lol. K, Seacrest.
Cheryl, I had to look up Decker. M-Hunnam, F-Decker, K-Cruise.
Bev, Hunnam and Decker- it’s a win-win either way!! I think in my head I keep seeing that meme of Charlie Hunnam from SOL, where he’s working it in bed. 😉
Bev I’d be happy either way with the Ryans…Gosling or Reynolds.
I had to google Eric Decker….Oh Lordy Cheryl – great choice. And of course in this fantasy we are all younger, slimmer, sexier…whatever we want! 😉
Ha ha ha…Charlie Hunnam I can’t look at without wanting to punch for his cheating manwhore character in SOA. Maybe he should be my K.
Oh the Ryans!
M-Ryan Reynolds
F- Ryan Gosling
K- Ryan Seacrest
Just finished Racing the Sun and liked it. It was sweet and light.
Reading The Ground Rules Rewritten next.
Bev….. Let Me Love You would be the perfect inspiration for a book as it’s about a guy watching his dream girl be cheated on by her lover and wishing he could show her how love should really be.
M – Ryan Reynolds
F – Ryan Seacrest *shudders*
K – Ryan Gosling. Seriously the guy just gives off creepy feelings for some reason.
Okay, answer to number 5. Bully by Penelope Douglas.
Tessa! I can’t believe you don’t lust after Gosling like the rest of the female population! My husband would love you…he thinks Gosling’s eyes are too close together and he looks shifty!!! Baaahahaha.
I, on the other hand have never noticed his eyes *waggles eyebrows*
Tessa you would F Seacrest and not Gosling?!? Have you seen Gosling’s body?!? Lol
“K” Tom Hardy?? *shakes head* What is wrong with this world…
Gah!! Now you guys are joining in the OS peanut pelting, Dabi and Grey? I SAID I would read it. Geez. 😉
Fabi, I actually have read and really liked several BDSM-themed books, some light and others heavy and dark. FSoG series, Tears of Tess series, Up In the Air series, Submission series by CD Reiss, and the one that traumatized me, Her Master’s Courtesan. *shudder* I don’t think anything is too dark for me after HMC. 😕
*Fabi, not Dabi. WTH, lol.
Have you seen Ryan Gosling’s face? CREEPY! Ryan Seacrest is just eeew, but A. Ryan Gosling’s body is NOT sexy to me. He looks too skinny and out of proportion. Seriously, his pecs are LONG. I like width. B. Lisa said it. His eyes. They are total serial killer eyes. Yuck. He’s probably a nice guy, but he totally creeps me out.
Oh, and I finished Out of Focus. It was so good. I didn’t feel angst, but I did want to hug the heroine so many times. She does go through an emotional roller-coaster, but you felt right about it, if that makes sense. I wanted to hug her, hug her BFF, hug the guy that she ended up with. Tons of hugs! Unless your Ryan Gosling, because he’s too creepy looking.
*snickers*
Gosling is going to be code word for creepy serial killer then?
Sorry, couldn’t marry seacrest. I’d be worried he’d turn our entire marriage into an American idol results show… Oh I’ll tell you who called…right after these words from our sponsors… Uh no.
LOL. Laughing so hard at all your comments. I pick NONE of the Ryans. None of the Johnnys. If I had to, I’d marry Seacrest because he’s filthy rich and I’m only 5 feet tall, so it could work. I’d cheat on him with Hunnam from another one of your posts.
I think Amy does read dark – didn’t she love all the Mud Vein type books? Here we are discussing Amy like she’s not in the room….. AMY – do you like dark? Because Original Sinners has some dark elements, but they all make total sense when you find out the back stories. Yes, it has the BDSM, but it feels totally authentic, if that makes sense. The true under ground.
Still reading Uprooted. Getting my magic fix there for sure. After that, I’ll take a little break from fantasy and read something from my TBR list, until my library loans come in (waiting on Throne of Glass 4 and Feverborn).
You all remember that we have used Amy to test dark reads, right?
LOL!!!! Y’all *are* discussing me like I’m not in the room!! 😛
Hey, I’ll test a dark read for you…anytime, anywhere. BRING IT!!
*smacks chest twice with both hands then holds arms out wide*
On second thought I think I’m changing the song to “I Will Buy You A New Life” by Everclear. Everything about it screams great story.
My song would be “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. I always see w rally cool Dystopian, Post Apocalyptic World when I hear that. The video was weird, but in my head it’s s super cool world.
And I’m going to move on the “Chrises” (plural form of Chris??? LOL).
M – Chris Hemsworth
F – Chris Pine
K – Chris Pratt
F- all of the Chris-es… *giggle*
Same.
M – Chris Hemsworth
F – Chris Pine
K – Chris Pratt
Heck, with Hemsworth, do I even care about Pine? lol
Kill Pratt??? That’s just wrong. He’s come so far from his dumb, overweight character in Parks & Rec. :>
53% of Ricochet… Blue… *cry*
M, Hemsworth
F, Pine
K, Pratt but he is so funny.
Cheryl, After I chose mine I kept thinking, wait what about this one or that one. Interesting we almost chose songs on the sad side.
I love a sad song but if a book ended like my song id be all nope give it to Amy, lol.
And I would be standing there with my “gimme” hands, Bev. 😉
Grey…Blue makes me want a Cane Corso. Either that or a dog like Zeus from Branded. I think he was a Great Dane but he was a big goof ball, lol.
Finished Ricochet. Thank you Fabi and Jean!!
So who is in for Ground Rules Undone Buddy Read???
GASP! I didn’t know he was a chubaloo once upon a time. Sometimes I like my men rounder – I like fat Castle better than lean Castle (LOL). Chris Pratt before and after…. (he’s still K for me though)…. https://www.digitaljournal.com/a-and-e/entertainment/chris-pratt-gets-ripped-for-his-role-in-guardians-of-the-galaxy/article/421810
ROFL Bev, mines super depressing. Yet, I still think it’d make an epic romance. Maybe even paranormal.
