Michele G: I just want to drop a note for two of today’s new releases….
Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson was a really good YA book with some heavy issues.
Just a Boyfriend (End of the Line Book 2) by Sariah Wilson was also quite good. It’s the second in a series but you could easily read it as a standalone. They were both 4 star reads for me.
- Liar by Fiona Cole <— LIVE!! AGE GAP ALERT! He was her uncle’s friend… “…On day one we both agree that repeating that night would be a mistake. - Come Back for Me (The Arrowood Brothers Book 1) by Corinne Michaels <— RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!! Colleen enjoyed it!
Colleen: I read Come Back for Me by Corinne Michaels as soon as my pre-order popped up on my kindle. It was a cute start to a new series.
- Release: A Standalone Friends-to-Lovers Romance by Aly Martinez <— LATEST Aly Martinez & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!
Harper: Just finished Release by Aly Martinez. Is a very good book, lots of angst, chemistry, a good dose of reality and an amazing love story. I recommend it!
- The Name of Honor (The Pagano Brothers Book 4) by Susan Fanetti <— RECENT RELEASE & Jan enjoyed it (she’s a fan of the entire series!)
Jan: I finished it today. 4 stars. I enjoyed it. Older MCs too, which I like as well.
- Cross Breed (A Novel of the Breeds Book 32) by Lora Leigh <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! AND NANCY is excited!!
I have read a lot of the 32 books over the years, but my favorite is ELIZABETH’S WOLF. So since we met Cassie (Elizabeth) as a little girl in that book. Then CROSS BREED was released & she has finally come into her own as a young woman. …I finally will get to read this!😁
Maryse: Years ago I was so big into this series. I bought a new paperback book on release day. And had jumped into reading. I was “horrified” to find my copy had “missing pages.”I went crying to you! You “somehow” found a link where the missing pages could be read! I was so thankful & elated. However, I found the pages were missing were all erotica sex scenes (blush)!
Maryse: OMG I remember that way back when! YESSSSS the missing pages. That caused an outroar in our book community ’cause this series was so popular. LOL!!! 😉
- Shattered by Megan Hart <— LIVE!! MEGAN HART BROKEN FANS!!! LOOKIT!! “...Shattered is a companion novella to Broken. The story features new material as well as scenes from Broken retold in Joe’s point of view.” I LOVED Broken!!! In fact, here’s my FIVE STAR Book Review
Karen G: the one book that I can’t shake is Broken by Megan Hart.
Stacy: Broken by Megan Hart. I don’t even know where to begin. This is just an amazing book….it stays with you! Has anyone read Megan Hart?
- Still Me: A Novel (Me Before You Trilogy Book 3) by Jojo Moyes <— SUPER-SALE ALERT!! This is the third book in the trilogy, and if you still haven’t read “Me Before You” yet, you MUST!!!!!
Northernstar: I just finished Still Me by Jojo Moyes, the conclusion to the me before you series. The second book left me unsatisfied and I was chopping at the bit to get to this one. It did not disappoint. This book continues with the self discovery of Louisa Clark as she moves to New York City. I loved the characters in the book – my favoirite was Dean Martin. Although I would have liked an epilogue it was a wonderful read.

Nay: Ever since I started devouring Gregg Olsen’s thrillers, I’ve been looking for another mystery/thriller writer who can somehow compare, and I’ve finally found him!
His name is Allen Eskens, and he has me completely immersed in his audio books! His first book, “The Life We Bury,” which was written in 2014, is the beginning of two series, and I’m probably going to listen to both of them before I move to another author. I love it when that happens–yay me!!

Good morning! TGIF! I was on amazon looking for Broken and I can only find it in Audible or paperback. Am I just missing it somehow? I loved Dirty and would like to read Broken.
Lisa I noticed that!!!
It does say exclusively in audiobook or something? Maybe it’s a temporary deal, like when authors release their new books in audiobook format first (for a few months) and then release the ebook?
This used to be an ebook so I suspect it will come back…
Hi Lisa!!
YAY!!! Okay I updated the link in the blog post to include the direct link to Broken!! 😀 It was being “re-published” today and had not went live on Amazon yet. It’s ready.
Thank you so much!!!!!!
Wow… Lots of enticing books. I wish I had the time for all of them.
I’m really behind in this. I’m reading the virgin’s gift and I didn’t even finish the kingmaker…feel guilty about that story cause it’s really good but i guess I like stories that focuses on the MCs’ relationship.
Cat don’t feel guilty. Read at your leisure and pleasure, my friend. That’s how we will continue to enjoy new (and old) books and find our treasures. <3
You know a book HAS you when you can't put it down (or struggle to anyway-and keep going back to it with excitement).
HAPPY FRIDAY MARYSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHO’S WATCHING VIKINGS???????? MY HEART BROKE INTO TINY PIECES!!!!!!!!! FUDGERS!
What the heck is Vikings?? Is it a show? Do I have it? MUST KNOW!!!
It is a show. It shows through the History channel. Don’t say anymore Ela…I’m behind!
OMG MARYSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUDGE???????? JUST LOOK UP RAGNAR…..YUM! THE FIRST 5 SEASONS ARE ON PRIME FOR FREE! NOW GO WATCH VIKING HAWTNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
The original lead actor Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) is an Aussie and comes from a small country town fairly near where I live. #trivia of the day LOL
Unless they sailed over to Korea….no.
Bev, great response!!
WHAT AM I missing?
Lol, because the last couple years I’ve almost only watch korean dramas. If not then Chinese, Japanese, or Thai. Very very little western shows, one from canada that I can think of.
Then yes, they sailed to the China’s….LOL
I looked it up and I actually watched the first season when it came out. But then I think I started to really dislike the main guy (based on a real Viking?).
LOL bev Korea????
I love Vikings. Haven’t watched last night’s episode yet & now I’m nervous 💔
Happy Friday! Trying to figure out what to read and can’t decide if I’m up for emotional or if I need light hearted. Speaking of emotional…Broken by Megan Hart!! I read that back in 2012 and still remember the feels from it. Yowsa! That was a doozy and I am positive it was ebook. Weird that it’s not available right now.
Broken by Megan Hart is listed in Kindle for $4.99.
I just did a search on Amazon and on Google… and it just keeps showing me the paperback and the audiobook. Can you like it to me here in the comments, Kathy?
Okay I just saw this on Megan Hart’s Facebook page from an hour ago, so I will keep stalking it. However if you are seeing it, Kathy, let me know. 🙂
She said:
“Announcement: There’s been a small glitch with the re-release of BROKEN on Amazon. I apologize, but the original pre-order has been cancelled. The book IS coming out (any minute, according to the site, it’s “publishing as I type this) but your pre-order was removed. I’ll post links as soon as they’re up.
Pre-orders from Applebooks, Kobo or Barnes and Noble were unaffected and will be available on time!”
I emailed the link to you from Amazon of Broken by Megan Hart.
YAY!!! Okay I updated the link in the blog post to include the direct link to Broken!! 😀
Y’all are awesome!
🙂
YAY!!
I have to give you guys this book series suggestion. I’m on book two (out of five) and I am in absolute love with the series so far! I think if you are a fan of A Court of Mist and Fury, along with the other two books in that trilogy, you would like this series too. It’s called Tairen Soul by C.L. Wison. Book one is called Lord of the Fading Lands.
oh dang, The author’s name is C.L. Wilson, not Wison!!
YESSS!! Thank you Janie! I’ve been hearing so much about Lord of the Fading Lands and I one-clicked it. I need to bring it back to the top of my TBR list.
Yay! I hope you love it too! I absolutely love a good romantic fantasy!!
Ermahgerd!!!! My favorite fantasy series ever!!! I’m sure I’ve pimped it out far too many times. So so good. Made my hubby call me Shei’tani for a while. LOL.
Hello everyone, Its been a while since I’ve popped by to say hello, *waves hand*. I hope to join in more frequently in 2020 (a New Year resolution). I’ve been reading a lot of older books this past year from my TBR list but just never got to, a few of my favs include The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar( fabulous), The Wall of Winnipeg by Mariana Zapata( why did I wait so long), the Fast Lane by Kristen Ashley (different style for her and I missed the usual character interaction, if that makes sense), Verity by Colleen Hoover (so creepy gave me the chills). This past year I started to listen to more audio books and have the Audible Escape package which is a great value in my opinion with so many books to choose from. I love to listen to rom-coms and the best hands down this year was the Bride Test by Helen Hoang as the narrators really brought this story to life, and a close runner up was Heidi’s Guide to Four Letter Words by Tara Sivic and Andi Arndt. Both laugh out loud funny. Glad to be back.
Kim
I’m so glad you’re back Kim!!! I’ve always loved your recommendations and this nice batch of your recent reads is a great addition!!
*hug*
Happy Friday! I think this is the first time I ever saw my comment on a Friday list. (So embarrassing but, uh, for years thought that maybe these recs came from your FB group. *face palm*)
I’m glad the book under the Corinne Michaels one was Release by Aly Martinez. I need to finish it (got sidetracked by my pre-orders…) this weekend.
Natasha Madison also has a book coming out on 1/14 too.
LOL Colleen!!! Welcome to the comment crew. 😉 It was too good to leave out.
Happy New Year from Texas, y’all. I am alive. I have missed all of the wonderful conversations and all of you ladies so much. You have no idea. I am so glad that 2019 is in the past. It has been a really difficult year, but things are now finally calm and steady and i am BACK…. yay! I submitted my “best of 2019” list to Maryse. If someone could give me the “two minute” rundown, I’d appreciate it.
I finished The Herd last night. My first 2020 read complete and such a great start to the year! I love, love dramatic mystery/thrillers where you’re so stuck in the character’s heads, finding out their inter workings and what not, that the secrets and surprises are just thrilling bonuses to the book. I went in blindly, because I look at so many books, I thankfully forgot the synopsis so it was even better for me. I guessed at everything from the very beginning and that is one of my favorite parts. Unputdownable, it comes out in March!
Now, I’m jumping into The Sun Down Motel today! 😊
So glad you enjoyed it Tasha!
OMG how adorable is this proposal??? 😭😭😭
“For the past six months, he’s been working with an illustrator to animate him and his girlfriend into her favorite movie. Then he filled a theater with her friends and family and popped the question.”

Absolutely the sweetest thing EVER!
Virgin River is giving me strong Hart of Dixie vibes!
I also started Dirty John a couple days ago, good so far.
I’d like to try Vikings, but I bet it’s a night time show and yay! I’m reading again at night.
Agreed!! AND… the older grumpy doctor that doesn’t want her in his small town is the exact same actor. LOL!!
I loved Hart of Dixie, especially all the mix and match friendships.
I had a reminder set for Virgin River but never got to it, too many shows. Also, I always meant to read the books.
I’m going back to My Ahjussi this week, I left off on ep 3. But it is supposed to be a few days of rain and snow mix and I love watching shows set in cold weather when it is cold. I’m watching another drama and you can tell it is sweltering and it is throwing me off because I’m buried under a blanket when I watch.
I just started my 3rd book of the year.❄☕
I ended up being a bit disappointed in Virgin River. It started off fine, but as the series went on, it kinda dragged and became a bit too soap-opera-ish for my tastes. A pity. I think if it was 5 or 6 eps instead of 10, and a bit more intense, it would have been so much better. BTW, final ep ends on a double cliffhanger. Yep. Bummer.
I’ve heard Hart of Dixie is better. One of my kids has the DVDs so gonna borrow that and try it instead.
Yes, try Hart of Dixie. It starts a bit rough but then you just fall for the town and its inhabitants. Plus, such a great platonic best friendship between the female lead and the mayor. I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a best friend like Lavon Hayes.
And the fashion is fun. It is on Netflix here but I dont know about Australia.
Ugh I hate when shows get soap opera-y. Immediate turn off and that’s why I stop so many shows. I love drama series, but there’s a fine line. I haven’t gotten that far in the series yet, so I can’t tell if it’ll feel that way for me. I did see it was renewed for season 2 though!
Hart of Dixie is very similar, especially in the 1st couple episodes and yep, same old cranky doctor, but I think there’s a much lighter tone to Hart of Dixie. It’s a lot kookier. I really only see that with Hope here.
