HAPPY FRIDAY!! I hope all of our weekends will be exciting or peaceful or both. 😀 Now time to prepare today’s list. I have SO many recommendations that came in this week, so first those… and then, a few new releases too.
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND
!!
Megan: Electric Idol by Katee Robert did not disappoint!!! Loved it!
I am going through the Bromance Book Club series and the Mercy series and loving both of those.
Oh and if you are down with RH, Tate Jame’s Kate Madison and Hades series are seriously hot!
- The Suite Spot by Trish Doller <— I MISSED THIS ONE!!!
Michele G: Hey Maryse, I don’t know if you were a fan of The Float Plan by Trish Doller, but the second in her series is out…The Suite Spot. I really enjoy her writing style so I wanted to pass that along.

A Moment in Time by Suzanne Redfearn <— MICHELE G ALSO LOVED THIS ONE!
Michele G: Also, I wanted to chime in about A Moment in Time by Suzanne Redfearn. She is the one that wrote In An Instant. I believe several of us on here read it.
Anyway, there is some carryover from that book to this one. As in some of the characters are from In An Instant and it shows them several years later. However, even though it is mentioned off and on throughout the book, the main storyline is something entirely different.
I just thought it was interesting because I didn’t realize that when I initially started the book.

The Kane Trilogy by Stylo Fantome <— AIMEE ENJOYED THIS ONE!
Aimee: I just finished reading the Kane Trilogyby Stylo Fantome
It was an interesting read. I loved the story line but it needed a LOT of editing. If you can get over that then it’s a 4 * read! I love the male characters in the book! It was emotional at times too. It fell on the a little too long side at times. So I skipped some chapters towards the end. That could have been the book anxiety I get wanting to know what happens!

Birdsong Trilogy by Nina Lane <— MANY ARE LOVING THIS TRILOGY!!! And I already know I love this author!
Susan: I just finished the second book in the Birdsong Trilogy by Nina Lane, the third book comes out on the 15th of March. I’m telling you guys this trilogy is the absolute top read for 2022. Five stars all the way.
So much emotion and honestly I can’t believe the timing of these books with the war in Ukraine. A gut wrenching love story with age gap. It has literally gripped my heart and I can hardly wait to read the last book next week. I won’t be able to think of anything but this until I read it.

Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline Duet <— MICHELLE LOVED THIS DUET!!
Michelle: Hi, Maryse! (-:
I have been following your blook blog since I was in high school (so almost 10-ish years now), and there’s always a bit of nostalgia every time I check back in to see what reads you have to recommend.
There’s a bit of ebb and flow when it comes to making time for new reads. I finally picked up a book in what feels like forever, and my goodness, do I have a recommendation for you.
After reading so many series throughout the years, I’m sure that you can relate in that characters and plots can seem so monotonous — this is not that.
If you have the chance to check it out, I would strongly recommend reading the duet Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline. It is a bit on the darker side, but I believe it’s adds so much to character complexities and overall development. I haven’t read anything like this in a long time to where it’s put me in a book daze, haha.
Hopefully it’s something you enjoy as much as I did!
Stay warm!
Michelle
Over the years reading comments on Maryse’s blog I’ve noticed that people are either for or against re-reading a book. I do it occasionally when I just get a craving to revisit characters that I really enjoyed.
2021 was a very lonely year for me. I live by myself and I am older and my daughter practically locked me into my house. She was so afraid of me getting the covid. She works at a Home Depot and during that time she was working approx 60 hr/wk and was exhausted and didn’t want to visit because of her germs. So she had my groceries delivered and I had about ever channel there was on tv. Don’t tell her but I still don’t know how to get some of them.
Anyway I was having trouble getting into books. Just couldn’t find one that kept my interest. So I decided to read
- THE STAND by Stephen King again. When you decide that you make a big commitment.
- Then went to Kristin Ashley. Couldn’t be locked up in my home without Tate and Joe and Ty and Tack.
- Also had to read YEARS by LaVeryl Spencer (notice that Maryse).
- And BIRTHDAY GIRL WAS ON THAT LIST.
Reading these books made me feel comfy and I didn’t feel so stressed. Sure I knew how they turned out. That was part of the comforting part. It was like an old friend came to visit.
- MONY HAS HER EYE ON THESE!!
I’ve got my eye on F*ck It (Yama Yama Book 2) by S.M. Shade! Can’t wait.
It follows Worth It (Yama Yama #1), which is one of my top romantic comedy books. Omg, those girls are crazy crazy. The bachelorette party is not to be missed!
Looking forward to checking out Tangled: Romantic Suspense with a Twist (Billionaires in Disguise) by Blair Babylon. I really liked her Arthur Duet: Stiff Drinks & Hard Liquor (Runaway Billionaires)…my top CR in 2020. This new one looks good. I do need to sort through her books to pick the stronger ones.

I can’t wait, when can we see Mony top books of 2021
I’ve been watching YouTube romance book videos for the last couple weeks. They along with book podcasts just get me in the mood to read.
But one I’ve been watching called In Love & Words reminds me so so much of Maryse.
Weird because it is two different mediums, but she just does.
Now you have me so curious Bev!!! Does she sound like me? I need to look this up. 🙂 I’m glad you’re back. We missed you!
I think maybe the way way she talks about the books and authors she loves. Just very happy and excited, it reminds me of how you’d talk about some of the books when we all first got into indie romances and such. Not your book twin but some overlap.
And maybe her make up style ….idk. Just every time, lol.

Oh I saw it!! That’s pretty cool. I need to go back to doing videos. It was so fun!
