HAPPY FRIDAY!!! :D!! It’s time for another reading weekend, and I have a fun list of reader recommendations, and a few that just went live too!
<— P.S. This one’s been getting tons of love and I just received even more recommendations for it (and Jewel E. Ann is one of my FAVORITES). UPDATE!! Not sure what happened to the ebook in the last day, but only print book is available right now??
P.P.S. Also don’t forget:
The “Amazon First Reads” choices are up for April!! I chose “The Overdue Life of Amy Byler”. 😀 I mean… there are books on the book cover so, ya know. 😉 MINE!! I already like the heroine’s style. *snort*
AND!! Kindle Unlimited Membership super-bargain deal!!!! <— Hey guess what??!! I dunno if I read when it was “ending” wrong or if Amazon just extended it, but the Kindle Unlimited Membership deal is still on!!!
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND !!
Good Mr. King by Aidèe Jaimes <— JUST WENT LIVE, it’s super-bargain priced & ohhhhhhhh my… total blurb jolt!! One of his employees is crushing on him… but there’s a twist… 😛 Tee hee!!! “…imagine my surprise when I get a drunken e-mail from an employee I’ve never met, containing not one, but dozens of erotic stories all starring yours truly. And in every one of them I’m a submissive. I should let it go, but I can’t. This woman needs to learn, John King gets spanked by no one…” AND we’re having a giveaway!! Just comment on this post to enter: ➔ Good Mr. King is live, and we have a “fun facts” and a guest post by the author to celebrate!!
- Fate’s Falling (Satan’s Sinners MC Book 8) by Colbie Kay <— LIVE!!
- The Blushing Harlot (When the Wallflowers were Wicked Book 4) by Merry Farmer <— LIVE!!
- Under the Same Roof: A Sweet Small-Town Romance by M.K. Lansbury <— LIVE!!
Bossy Bastard: A Romance Anthology <— LIVE!!! BOSSY ALPHAS ALERT!! Ten incredible authors bringing you brand new, unique, never before released stories. Featuring ‘Bossy’ men that fight for the women of their dreams, each of these irresistible stories will have you craving for more.
- Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid <— Steph N gives it 5 STARS!
Steph N: I read Daisy Jones and the Six this past week and had to wait for them to buy that one. It was worth the few week wait. 5 star read for me! It was written so differently, like an interview. I first started reading it and I saw that and I was like, ut oh but was pretty quicky drawn into the story.
Filthy Rich Boys: A Reverse Harem High School Bully Romance (Rich Boys of Burberry Prep Book 1) by C.M Stunich <— RECENT RELEASE BULLY BOOK ALERT!! Tessa went CRAZY for this one (and can’t stop thinking about it)
Tessa: Remember that book I laughed at the extreme title, reverse harem, bully, blah, blah… and then said I’m definitely reading it?
GAH! I can’t stop thinking about it, especially that ending. It doesn’t end on a CH, but it’s the end of her first year at the academy, but that end. Filthy Rich Boys by CM Stunich. If Grey read RH, I’d be pushing this book so much.
The bullying and the story and then that ending. GAH! SOOOO GOOOD!
Grey: Tessa…I’m thinking you’ve mentioned the word bully twice in the comment section and directly said my name…it’s like catnip. I’m feeling a little faint, I might have a fever, I think I need to be excused from work.
The Girl He Used to Know: A Novel by Tracey Garvis Graves <— RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!!! MONA LOVED IT!!
Mona: I just finished The Girl He Used to Know … and wow! This story is about Annika and Jonathan. It is a second chance romance and goes back and forth between present and past and gives both POVs.
The clincher is Annika has autism spectrum disorder. I love books by Tracey Garvis-Graves! You have to read this book!
- Atlas Lost by Alaska Angelini <— LIVE!!
- Garrett (Dark Water Security Book 2) by Madison Quinn <— LIVE!!
- Loving Disaster (Bookworms & Alphas Book 3) by Alex L. Michaels <— LIVE!!
Naked Love by Jewel E. Ann <— JEWEL E. ANN BINGE-READ ALERT!! So many here loved THIS recent release and I’m still getting recommendations for it!
Christina: Binge read Naked Love by Jewel E Ann!! One of my favourite authors and she didn’t disappoint. Loved the book.
Melinda: I just finished Naked Love by Jewel E. Ann. I loooveed it. Really enjoyable and so funny. New book boyfriend Jake. Whose a Vegan. A fighter, owns a restaurant and a chef. Def worth a read.
MichelleS: Melinda / I just finished Naked Love too! Loved it. Funny & romantic, and super likable characters. Even with all her insecurities.
Robyn: Just thought I’d stop and in and tell you all you need to read Naked Love by Jewel E Ann. I haven’t stopped laughing since I started the book and I’m not even halfway yet. This book is exquisitely hilarious and I don’t think I can stop even to make dinner!
The Magnolia Chronicles: Adventures in Modern Dating by Kate Canterbary <— RECENT RELEASE & IT’S HILARIOUS ALERT!!! Jan is enjoying it!
Jan: BTW, I started the new Kate Canterbary book and it’s hilarious. I didn’t really enjoy the last book I read about the melodrama of online dating apps, but this one is really good so far. Such funny conversations with guys who only want to get into her pants.
- Author Giana Darling <— Tracey recommends this author BIG TIME!!
Tracey: If anyone is looking for an amazing author I highly recommend Giana Darling. She has written one of the best MC series out there (The Fallen Men) and her other series . . The Evolution of Sin and Enthralled. . . there are just no words. Her writing is brilliant and the hero’s are totally ALPHA/DOMINANT HOT. I have NEVER recommended an author before, however, given Giana’s books have not been mentioned on this Blog, I feel like your readers are missing out.
- LOVE PARANORMAL?? Tessa has her “BEST OF MARCH” list chosen (although she can’t choose the actual “best-best”. 😉
Tessa: Okay, best of March time! Mine is hard to choose because the 4 that stood out, while three are PNR, are just so different.
Year One: Chronicles of The One, Book 1 by Nora Roberts was so intense. Amy, read this series when the whole thing is released! It’s intense the same way that Until the End of the World was, but not zombies, just Apocolypse with fairies, witches, and all.
Fairy’s Touch (Legion of Angels Book 7) by Ella Summers – continues the series. If you haven’t read it, and like pnr/ fantasy, go read it.
Broken Wings: A Dark High School Romance (Dark Legacy Book 1) by Jaymin Eve and Tate James – OMG this book was my fantasy mix. Bully book with James’ great plot and story telling with Eve’s wonderful character writing. *thunks* Not reverse harem! Just bully book with great characters. GREY! FYI! It’s KU!
Wild Country (World of the Others, The Book 2) by Anne Bishop – HOLY CRAP! This one was so full of tension and worry, happy moments, humor, and hope, and just so MUCH. This had all the greatness that was in The Others books but in one package. Also, it does correlate a bit with parts that happened in The Others series, and mentions or relates to people from that series in a way that really impacted the plot of both this book and the Others series.
Fade (Book Two ) by Ashley Munoz <— LIVE!! IN THE WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM TOGETHER!! Can be read as a standalone but has the characters from book #1… “…Jackson Tate and I are over. Done. Finished. Then again, how do you end something that never really started?
Now, three months later we’re being thrown back together for the sake of an investigation and forced to coexist. I thought falling in love with someone who didn’t want to be loved was hard but going into witness protection with the man who ignorantly took my heart? Yeah, that was going to be impossible…”
AUDIOBOOK L VERS!
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—
This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

➔➔➔ Get Maryse’s Book Blog updates delivered by email (you’ll get one daily email that will have each post from that day consolidated on it).
Maryse why am I up?
bev, I was wondering the same this this morning! Saturday, and I was up at 7am. I can sleep if I want to!! I want to!!! But here I am… up. *sigh*
Okay so here’s my latest update!!
The blog (and all of us) are moving to a new server. Upgraded server, upgraded software, upgraded everything. We should be even faster BUT you shouldn’t notice a difference in the move at all. It will be same old, same old, and just come on in like normal. No web address change or anything at all. Comments the same, even our cute monster avatars will be the same.
Right now, I’m in “transition” mode (or staging) and I’m making sure everything is functioning on the new server and that will take a few days before the new server goes LIVE.
The blog will look pretty much the same – a few changes due to how old the blog design is and some things are not transitioning as well, but overall, it will still look and feel (and navigate) – the same – comments section and all!
All of our blog posts since 2009, all of our lists, all of our categories, our reader questions… nothing changes. ALL there.
There *may* be a few hiccups at first when it goes live so bear with me while we fix bugs (IF there are any). Fingers crossed, no. The mobile version will be SO much better than what it is right now (so mobile users, you will notice a significant change but a GOOD one). Functional menu (and a nicer look – but nothing too crazy – just more functional). 😀
It will likely go live next week, and I will announce it when we do.
I will be updating the design one day but not yet… one step at a time. 😉 LOL!! I struggle with change. *snort* 😛
P.S. Once all of this is done… I can get back to reading. Oh how I miss my books.
I am so book-blog-centric right now, but just in a different way. And I can’t wait to get back to my stories. 😉
Soon… my TBR-list. Sooooooooooon. 😛
*pours bev extra strong coffee*
Good morning! TGIF!!
I am very much looking forward to weekend and sleeping in and hopefully loving my book. (Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan)
I downloaded the preview for Good Mr. King and it sounded so good. Thinking of clicking the buy button. But I have been in a book funk. Has anyone ever been stuck on one genre and can’t get into anything else? Well it has happened to me, but reading the preview of Good Mr. King has me thinking it might be what I need. I mean I have been purchasing books that I have been waiting one and haven’t read one, I mean not one.
Tabathia… I like his “voice” from the excerpt. He sounds no-nonsense… 😉
Thanks Leslie.
Hope you all have a good Friday.
Morning everyone! It’s an errand day for me. 🙁
Tessa, evidently I have hooded eyes and omg they look so much better doing it the “right” way. Now I want my Naked 2 palette back so I can see if I like it better. Lol
YAY! It makes the biggest difference, doesn’t it? 🙂 *happy dance*
Good morning! Happy Friday!!
I finished the audio version of The Wicked King yesterday, and I loved it! Thanks, Michele G., for talking me into listening to the series! Now I only have to wait until January for the next one. 🙁
I started listening to the The Nightingale last night. After loving The Great Alone so much, I’m really looking forward to this one!
Happy Friday!!! Miss you guys! Looks like lots of goodies up there. Tessa, I’m intrigued by Filthy Rich Boys, and you did this to me before with the Fallen Crest series!!!!
I NEED to read Naked Love! I’ve found I love EVERYTHING by Jewel E. Ann! Right now, I’m reading One by her and totally regret putting it off. SOOO GOOD!!!
The Girl He Used to Know sounds so good too!!!
My best books for March:
1. The Idea of You by Robinne Lee – I still can’t get this book out of my head and it’s been a month!
2. Mine by Courtney Cole
3. What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon
Have a great weekend everyone! Happy reading!
Lol I did? Good! 🙂 I do warn that it’s an RH, but the feels are all there. And it’s not the, oh, they are mine, but more, gah, these guys SUCK.
Naked Love was AMAZING. I absolutely adored it.
About to start Good Mr. King or Filthy Rich Boys… hmmmm lol.
Tempted by The Girl He Used to Know.
Best of March:
What the Wind Knows
A Lesson in Thorns
Naked Love
Crossbreed Series book 6 (hot tub scene…. swoon)
Now I’m lurking to find my next read!
Does anyone know what’s going on with Naked Love by Jewel E Anne? Every time I click on it it says sorry page not found. At one point I could pull it up in book format ( on Amazon),but, not now. Weird
GASP!!! Very good question Denise!! It was up when I posted it, but it disappeared and only the print book is available.
My favourite books for March
Naked Love. Loved this book
Mr Spencer
The work wife
Cruel money
Not quite sure Denise, Try typing the book name in search bar see if that works. I didn’t have a problem
.
Marsye, I think Cora Brent has a new spinoff of Gentry boys releasing Tuesday. Tristan.
And another blog has shut down. I used to love the Scandalicious podcasts.
Maryse……are you sure you are just moving the blog? Not moving away? You’ve been very quiet, it is how it starts. Just be sure to say goodbye first.
GASP!!!
Oh no. That, I can absolutely promise!!
I’m upgrading so I have more features and better control (to keep the blog running more efficiently). This format of the blog is very old and getting kind of “buggy”, so I’ve just upgraded us to the latest version of WordPress (what the blog runs on – which required an overhaul, since it was on such an old version, and the latest version of PHP too). I’ve been one-track minded on getting it done once and for all.
My blog is my life, and so are my books. I just wanted to keep you all in the loop because it’s going to take effect in just a few days, and that’s why I’m not reading much in the last couple of weeks (been working on the server move, and blog upgrades – and fixing bugs).
Grrrrr to bugs!!
Ten years of blogging and hanging out with you guys. No way I’m ever letting that go.
Here’s to another ten years (at least)!!! :D!!!
Lol. I was kind of just teasing. But it does seem like a lot of blogs are closing or changing. Not just book ones .
But I guess it makes sense. It takes a lot of work and people’s hobbies and what brings them happiness change.
Well this is my biggest love. I am proud of the blog, and of my friendships I’ve made being a part of the book world. I just want to be able to grow it, and was running into programming issues on such an old platform.
You know the whole “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?” <--- That's how I was thinking. But the minute I try to add something fun (a new widget or a new feature), things would bug-out. I knew it was time.
Excited to see what the result is. I’m horrible with change so probably live by that motto too much, lol.
Ok, if I finish my current read tonight I’m going with The Girl He Used To Know tomorrow. It is calling to me for some reason. Anyone want to try it with me?
Another update!!
I’m now learning CSS to customize features on the blog. Well… not learning it like a pro, mind you *ahem* ;), but delving into that coding, and customizing things… eeeeep!! It’s kind of exciting. 😛
Exciting times Maryse! It must be a bit hectic for you at the moment. *lifts glass of bubbly* Here’s to the next 10 years! Hooray!
There is a name for us crazy TBR people that we didn’t know! https://www.treehugger.com/cleaning-organizing/tsundoku-practice-buying-more-books-you-can-read.html?fbclid=IwAR3SU9ZmOOpmWXRCyQcJn4qJTQ-2eESwpKOuY5kd9BcgkDIRMG-2kv8MJqE
Ha! Tessa..,, that’s us alright. I’m FINALLY reading The Son and His Hope. Why did I wait? So good.
You are learning to code? That sounds cool.
Meant to start The Gorl He Used to Know but as my phone charged I started another on my spring tbr list.
bev!! I totally am.
Right now I’m brain dead though. I was so full of gumption for it all day, and got very well ahead of what I expected I would do, and it’s been SO FUN!!! I can’t believe how cool it is and what I can do!!
But… I just can’t do anymore tonight. I WANT to. But my brain isn’t working. And anyway… it’s time for scoping out the Monday Earlybirds and that makes me happy. 😉
I miss reading YA. And paranormal. But it’s been forever since I’ve dived into YA. And longer than I’ve wanted it to be since I’ve read anything paranormal/fantasy/etc.
Tasha, have you completed the Throne of Glass series?
2 books read off my Spring TBR.
*fist pump*
Not the last one because when I do, it’ll be over. *sniff* I’m like that with series I watch on tv too. I’ll watch everything until the end and leave the ending up to me. Or unfinished. But, when a crap ending leaves it unfinished? Or maybe just not the way I wanted it to end, I’ll take it personal. Hahaha
Not always, but more often than not.
Good job, Bev! Great dedication. I need some of that over here.
I’m looking forward to the new blog too, as I read all of it on mobile version. And I’m an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” type as well as slow to adjust to change. That’s why I get so overwhelmed learning the new things when I decide to take the plunge years later. But I almost always love it when I adjust!
Whoever is in a book funk should read Repeat by Kylie Scott. I finished it today. I was so emotional reading it & felt so much for the characters. I was hooked fast & couldn’t put it down until I was done, heavy sigh!!!
Lisa this makes me so happy. She’s one of my favorites!! :D!!!
Have any of you watched Our Planet on Netflix? I haven’t watched stuff like this since I was a kid. Or I suppose I watched quite a bit of animal planet too 10-15 years ago. But, the episode with the walruses! Omg I nearly cried. My son too. I told him to look at them before I realized what was happening. It’s so pretty and fascinating, but a little heartbreaking too.
I can’t do animals if it’s sad…. I LOVE them too much and I’m just devastated and I act crazy for a whole day.
Oh, but it’s awesomely amazing too. And funny. And sometimes gross. Like this freaky nasty ant. But you know, our planet is changing and sh*t happens. I just started and I’m peeping in and out bc I’m still obsessing over YouTube makeup videos. I recognize that this is a problem. 😛
Tasha… I was addicted to curling iron videos on Facebook for at least 1 -2 months… and also the eye shadow blending/bridal makeup videos on youtube for that same amount of time.
And… umm….
I bought EVERYTHING I saw. So I had to stop watching them. I was obsessed. But I sure do have pretty makeup (that I actually DO use now). 😉
I totally get like that. When I discovered Gothamista’s YouTube videos I binged them. I’m always happy when a new one pops up.
Ask Me About Kpop podcast ……binge. I look forward to Wednesday morning because of new eps.
Reaction videos were a thing for me for awhile.
I still fall down kpop holes. Just so much content. One of my favorites was 2x dances. This is SHINee ( quickly becoming a favorite) doing one. Its actually really impressive. They make them do one of their complicated dances at 2x the speed.
They are so good.
https://youtu.be/MkSpLO3e5N4
Anyway if it makes you happy binge away. It will slow down and you might find a favorite to look forward to.
So you’re saying it’s contagious? And runs it’s course in approximately 1-2 months, so I have about 1 more to go. And treatment plan is to purchase all my wants? Done!! 😛
Really I’m screenshooting everything, adding lists to my notes (cuz all my old disappeared *glares*), adding crap to shopping carts and researching and reading reviews for everything I see. And I want to stop, but I just can’t. Not until I get exactly what I want, which I know is trial and error and expensive and I actually can’t buy everything. But how else will I know if it works? See, now I’ve decided that the color of my foundation in my bare minerals (the only thing that wasn’t making my rosacea flare) isn’t right. It’s too warm. It’s a completely different color than the one I like the color of, but does make me flare and I can’t use it. So, I have samples of another I just stopped at to find my true shade and I’m right, it’s way off. And I love the look, but initial reaction is it hurts my face. So, I’m thinking I just need to purchase a diff. bare minerals color, right? BUT, I like the coverage of a liquid. And I dk what won’t make my face hurt (in the 1 cheek only). Or maybe the addition of Clinique’s redness solutions instant relief powder. It’s like a revolving door of crap in my head to cover and treat my face that I’ve stubbornly lived with for 5 years and have now decided I want to fix. I didn’t even know what color correcting creams or bb creams were until now, I’m so behind with the times. So I’m just now deciding, WHY haven’t I yet looked up actual videos on makeup for rosacea??? All these weeks I’ve made a 30 min trip to Sephora only to return bc something isn’t right and never once had I thought to look this up on YouTube instead of eye makeup tutorials. And now I want to try everything new I’ve found!! I’m over here on Amazon even putting mulberry tea in my cart. Cuz you have to treat from within too, right? Lol!
But it’s SO FUN!!
And expensive. 😐 😉
Oh, I hate how I fixate. It makes me feel erratic. Like a crazy loon. But it has to work through my system and preferably not my wallet. I somehow got onto Korean skincare, I think, too. Now I’m watching reviews for it. They have the good stuff, I hear. Probably add an additional month for that. I saw a preview for maybe one of those dramas that I actually want to try, Bev. I can’t remember the name, but the guy sees ghosts? It looks cool/kooky/with that paranormal I’ve been craving. It’s on Netflix, I think it’s new and not complete.
I definitely did the fixate on skincare for awhile. Its calmed down some lol. But it was expensive.
This is Gothamista. Her evening skincare routine.
https://youtu.be/bFQ6Nzjks6Y
Is it Possessed?? I have some downloaded. It just came to Netflix. On the drama blog I visit it has some fans. It’s supposed to be a bit scary thriller and some stabby bits but also a nice loveline. And humor. Have wanted to start but dont want to scare myself, lol
Yes, that’s the one! It didn’t look too scary in the trailer. I may try tomorrow. J’s sick and I believe I’ll be sitting around all day tomorrow comforting him.
I can’t afford the expense! That and I think everyone is fed up with me going back to the makeup store and asking everyday “do I look different? Can you tell what it is?” You should’ve heard the kids after I left the makeup counter yesterday and crossed the street to run into another store and discored they had put in an Ulta. And then made 1 more stop within the last stop I made, just to look at their selection. I’ve been strictly (basically) no makeup for nearly 8 years maybe? It’s like a complete 180. I feel like I’m 16 again!
I now want to try those awesome looking products Gothamista used. My skin is so dry and irritable right now, I could just imagine the feel of them on my face. Not as many, a simpler routine, but especially interested in the different creams for winter/spring and summer.
