- ➔➔➔ PRIME MEMBERS!! Amazon First Reads are up for May. ☺️ I one-clicked “Valencia and Valentine“
- Kiss Me Tonight by Maria Luis <— LIVE!!! EX-FOOTBALL STAR & HIS SINGLE MOM NEW NEIGHBOR… “…I had it all. The Super Bowl rings. The hot shot TV gig. Then I got fired. Now I’m living in middle-of-nowhere Maine, playing assistant coach to the woman of my nightmares. Did I mention that she and her son are my new neighbors?…”
- Rules of Stone: Great Falls Academy, Episode 1 by Alex Lidell <— LIVE!!
- Well Suited by Staci Hart <— LIVE!! STACI HART ALERT!! ACCIDENTAL PREGNANCY ALERT!! “…The upside? I don’t have to go looking for a suitable mate. Genetically, he’s the cream of the crop. His musculature is a study in symmetry and strength, his height imposing and impressive. He is a man who thrives on control and command, a man who survives on intelligence and resourcefulness. A perfect male specimen. And the whole package is wrapped up in a flawlessly tailored suit. I’m having this baby, and he insists we’re well-suited to have it together. And what’s worse? He wants more, in the way of love and marriage….”
- Just My Type by Tara Sivec <— COMEDY ROMANCE RECENT RELEASE & we have Feedback!! Jennifer is LOVING this one!!
Jennifer: So I am reading Just My Type! My husband is sick and trying to sleep and I’m legit shaking the bed I’m laughing so hard. This is the most dang entertaining story I’ve read in years and as of yet….no love loves have been given. I officially do not care because it’s HILARIOUS!!!!
Marion: Just My Type is sooo funny. I haven’t laughed this hard over a book in ages. Very witty exchanges by the main characters. Highly recommend if you need cheering up.
- Rhyme & Reason by Nia Forrester <— RECENT RELEASE & Jan found us this one!!
Jan: Nia Forrester has a new book out, Rhyme and Reason. It’s the newest one of her fabulous Commitment series. It came out on April 19th, but I didn’t realise till last night. I’ve started it and it’s good! So fun to go back into that world again. She’s one of my top fav writers
Natasha: I cannot recommend Nia Forrester enough. Her style of writing is so smooth and real. She’s an auto-buy for me.
- Her Perfect by Stephie Walls <— LIVE!!! FORBIDDEN LOVE TEACHER-STUDENT ROMANCE ALERT!! “…He was like two different people—Eli and Dr. Paxton. While I knew the latter would turn out to be an incredible teacher, the idea of Eli being more threw me for a loop. I couldn’t separate the two, and it seemed vastly inappropriate and strangely alluring. The practical side of me needed to win the war inside my mind. I had to please the teacher, not the man. But once I’d cross that line, there was no turning back…”
Lisa C: Her Perfect. Teacher/student romance. Usually this troupe doesn’t live up to my expectations. I’m halfway through Her Perfect and it’s slow burn goodness!!! I want them to fight it!!!!!! Writing is good. I hate when the teacher is “the bad guy”. I love Eli. Or at least so far. Excited to finish.
- Unexpected Love (Unforeseen Destiny Book 2) by Kimberly Readnour <— LIVE! HE’S HER NERDY, SEXY, INFURIATING BOSS!! “…Infuriating to the core. One sexy nerd. My new boss. Forced to spend time with a guy I can’t stand? Check! Arguing every point because he’s the complete opposite? Check! Developing feelings for said guy…Check?”
- You. Me. Bed. Now. by Olivia T. Turner <— SHORT STORY recent release & we have feedback! Tessa liked it well enough, saying it had so much potential – could have been 5 stars – but needing much more from it! Still… might be a fun quickie while waiting for an appointment or something. 😉
Tessa: Oh meant to tell you all, I also read You, Me, Bed, Now. *sighs* It should have been MUCH longer, but it was a short story. Even the meet-cute love at first sight was actually really well done, but then it was over… and it wasn’t that it wasn’t finished, it was just over. If it had been fleshed out, it could have been great. More trouble, more angst, not things falling to well together and hea. *shrugs* Still, the beginning really did show promise and I hope the author rights a more fleshed out book. It could truly be great if it starts like the beginning and maybe more of the before. Just too rushed.
…It could have honestly been a 5* of swooning and cuteness if it had been expanded. The editing and writing were there and the dude looked what sounded like Jason Mamoa and had a swoon-worthy personality. And she’s an awkward American with no knowledge of Rugby reporting for a piece of American news about it.
- Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens <— S.C. STEPHENS RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK!! And by Leslie M, no less, who is picky 😉 AND has been in a book slump, and she loved this one. YAY ME!! THIS will be my next (after the one I’m reading today):
Leslie M: I just finished Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens and I think all of you will love it! No worries if you didnt like Thoughtless as characters and storyline are NOTHING like it. It’s slow burn, major UST, super swoony, single POV by h and reminds me of The Simple Wild and K.A. Tucker’s writing style.
Jean: Oooo, you guys…..I loved Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens!!
Maryse: SQUEEEEEE!!! I have that one (but I just started “The Silent Patient” last night)… and I LOVED The Simple Wild!!! 😀
- Yes Please by Amy Poehler <— FUNNY BIOGRAPHY SUPER-SALE ALERT!!!
bev: Yes Please by Amy Poehler was an audible listen. It was funny and honest. …it is wonderful. Patrick Stewart occasionally drops in.
- JAN RECOMMENDS THESE TWO NEW RELEASES:
I’ve read and liked two new releases this week, Kiwi Rules (New Zealand Ever After Book 1) and The Austen Playbook (London Celebrities 4). Both very different from each other, both good.
- Behind Her Eyes: A Suspenseful Psychological Thriller by Sarah Pinborough <—- BLURB JOLT PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT AND I’M KICKING MYSELF!!! HOW DID I MISS THIS SALE?? No matter, it still sounds incredibly awesome. and Stephen King says so, so I’ll post it so we can at least put it on our TBR lists. Or one-click it if we just can’t stand waiting anymore. HER SWEET BAR-KISS ENDS UP BEING HER NEW BOSS… AND HE’S MARRIED. “…Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone. When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake, but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise. And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend. But she also just happens to be married to David. And if you think you know where this story is going, think again…”
KAT: On sale …
Talon: Yes!
Maryse: GASP!!! I I MISSED IT!!! *throws self on floor and wails in agony* I WANNA READ IT!!
- My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing <— PSYCH-THRILLER RECENT RELEASE & THE ANSWER TO one of yesterday’s reader questions and this sounds right up my creepy alley!!! 😉 “…We look like a normal couple. We’re your neighbors, the parents of your kid’s friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with. We all have our secrets to keeping a marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder...”
Cheryl: I really enjoyed it!
Vicki: That’s it. Really good book!
Amy: A couple of good deals for thriller lovers:
All the Missing Girls: A Novel by Megan Miranda (sounds unique in its delivery!) and The Secrets She Keeps: A Novel by Michael Robotham.
I clicked both of them, even though I’m not particularly a thriller lover. I’m always willing to give intriguing ones a try!
AUDIOBOOK L VERS!
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
- The Wicked King by Holly Black <— Nay loved it!
Nay: I finished the audio version of The Wicked King: The Folk of the Air, Book 2 yesterday, and I loved it! Thanks, Michele G., for talking me into listening to the series! Now I only have to wait until January for the next one. 🙁

My favourite Taboo book is Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. It was heartbreaking.
I agree with you, Michelle, Forbidden is so heartbreaking, but it stays with you years later.
Gabriel
Good morning!!! *huge glitter bomb*
So happy its Friday. 😃
Looking forward to a weekend of sleeping in, lots of coffee and reading.
Not entering the contest , just saying Good Morning.
Woke up at two. 😪 Like Leslie cant wait for the weekend.
Same as bev, woke up around 2:00. But I then took something to help me go back to sleep and now I’m groggy.
Not sure which one of us is in worse shape right now. How you doing, bev? ‘Cause I’m in bad shape. *snort*
Omg, you guys!! I’ve had insomnia for so long it’s awful. I’m feeling your pain.
Ugh I am SO tired this morning. Was up at 4:15am and didn’t get back to sleep at all. 5 hrs deep sleep… and then WIDE awake. I feel like a zombie.
4 for me. Now I’m dragging and I didnt have time to pack my coffee. 😐
So definitely buying.
12 hours until home.
Fighting.
Right now, ok. But I’m planning to bring coffee and may just buy one too, lol
I “Lol” but not joking.
My insomnia was getting really bad again after sleeping like a baby for months before I broke my leg. Then I realized that the difference was likely some supplements I added to help inflammation (since I’m not allowed to take ibuprofen or any other NSAID) and healing, so I cut them out, and I’m sleeping tons better. Now I have to introduce them back into my medicine regimen one at a time to figure out which one was doing it.
Not entering the contest *sorry, but trigger* But gotta comment. 🙂
*hugs* Amy and Bev, I hope tonight you get good sleep after suck a sucky night of sleep.
I’ve actually connected my bouts of insomnia to my hormones. It’s at the same time every month and lasts approx. a week. Of course there are times where stress will come into play or other factors, but consistently mine happens when my hormones are doing whatever it is they do. It’s weird how the older I get, the more in tune and aware I am with my body. This last month a ton of things were more out of whack than usual. I’d actually considered going to get my thyroid and all that checked.
Let’s make a book list to help us fall back asleep. Ones that are great but not so great that we won’t be totally wrapped up in. I tend to wake up read and get so into a book that I just can’t fall back asleep to save my life.
By the way, I’m not impressed with this month’s Kindle First picks. Just sayin’. 😕
I’m totally getting Rosie the Dragon and Charlie Make Waves! 😂
Me neither. Didn’t pick one this month.
Family pictures are next Saturday. 1 of mine started a cold in the middle of the night. J couldn’t sleep for some reason either. I hope he’s not getting it. We’ve been around a couple who have it. And will be this weekend too. And it hasn’t been that long since I got over it. I actually had a feeling this would happen and now I’m worried. It seems sickness is brought in every few weeks now.
I ordered cupcakes and a cake for J’s 1 year. 1 year old in 2 weeks!!! We’re celebrating on Mother’s Day. I’m doing the “naked” cake thing. So, vanilla cupcakes- 4 filled with blueberry compote, 4 strawberry, 4 lemon and a dab of frosting on top (maybe a dusting of powdered sugar also) and I’ll top myself with fruit slices, maybe a mint leaf on lemon too. And then a 6 in single layer cake “naked” with creamsicle colored icing. I’m so hungry right now, I had to say it.
OMG! J’s almost a year old! Wow! I bet you’ll be happy to get your pics done. Hope everyone is healthy by that time!
That cake sounds amazing! I had cupcakes on my birthday too, but they didn’t have a ‘dab’ of frosting–they had a huge dollop! I decided I wanted “real” bakery cake this year instead of a Walmart cake (although I actually like Walmart cakes). I got “wedding cake” (white with vanilla icing), Oreo, strawberry shortcake, chocolate with white icing, and chocolate on chocolate. I was going also get red velvet and coconut, but they were out of both of those). They were yum!
Oh, yum!! I like Walmart cakes too. And Kroger with the whip frosting. I’m in a real fruit mood, so the strawberry shortcake sounds yummy, yummy!
I think I was driving the poor girl nuts with my icing preferences. I can’t stand cupcakes with icing in equal amounts as cake. And cakes too. And J doesn’t need all that icing. Nobody really likes it. So I sent her a ton of idea pictures and she sent me back a cute one with a dollop and I said no, like these chocolate ones here https://www.pinterest.com/pin/575616396106446967/. I hope they turn out how I picture. I’ve never even sampled from her. Lol
Those look yummical, Tasha!
Hey y’all! I’ve been busy with funeral arrangements, but pooped in to say hi. Patricia Briggs, Mercy Thompson May 7th. Something to look forward to.
That is such a hard task MichelleS. I know you will hear it a lot but I am so sorry. Losing someone and grief…..no words can adequately express it.
On another note your post made me smile. Um…..the poop part.
MichelleS–so sorry you’re going through all this. Still praying for you and your family. ❤️️
I’ve been thinking of you. I hope you have lots of support to get you through your dads service.
*hugs* And yes, the next book will hopefully take your mind off of it. It’s not an easy thing to deal with.
Comment:…Hugs….I know there really aren’t words…
*hugs* You’re in my thoughts and prayers, lady.
Hugs and prayers.
Good morning! Happy Friday!
Damn…I missed the sale for Behind Her Eyes too. I want that one!
Kiss Me Tonight and Just My Type look good too!
Recent fav forbiddeny book……The Idea of You……sigh….. still can’t get that book out of my head!
Good morning! Happy Friday! I’m so thrilled to see the Lucia Franco contest!
I don’t think it’ll surprise anyone here to hear that Ria and Kova’s ❤️️ story in the Off Balance series is my fave forbidden love story. I’m in the middle of reading Release right now, but as I think I’ve mentioned once (or twice 😉), I FLOVED Balance and Execution, and they are two of my all-time favorite books! (and Kova’s still mine! 😍)
You are going to have to fight me for him. Or can we just alternate days?
Her Perfect.
I just couldn’t get a 100% into the book I wanted to because the genre is my jam. If only I could re read loving mr Daniels for the first time again
I am reading Kristen Ashleys newest. I wish she would focus on the slow burn more. Tired of the instalove and the immediate “honey” and “baby” pet names.
I get to read The Man I Love (fish tales) for pick me for this month. I bought it in 2015 according to my kindle! That is crazy!
Off Balance series is my favorite taboo romance. I have reread the first two books sooooo many times. I’m half way through Release and I’m loving it!
I started reading True Places by Sonja Yoerg yesterday and stayed up until 4 am to finish it! The story is about a woman with a seemingly perfect but busy life, taking care of her husband and two teenaged children. She finds a girl collapsed on the side of the road, picks her up and takes her to the hospital. The girl was raised in the mountains and woods by her parents and has never been a part of modern civilization. The woman, thinking she is saving the girl, invites the girl into her home. Ultimately, does the woman save the girl or does the girl save the woman.
Thanks for the info, Mona! I picked that in December as my kindle first read, and I see that the audio book is only $1.99 if you own it, so I’ll move it up!
Great blog post, looks like I have to exercise myone click finger.
My favorite forbidden love story had to be Hale by K Webster with the Off Balance series taking second spot.
Thanks for the chance!
Can I say THIS series is my favorite forbidden this far? Everything about the story is absolutely forbidden and I am loving for it!
Kova & Ria’s love story is definitely my favorite love story.. I’m obsessed with this series!! This series checks off all my boxes I look for in a forbidden love story!! Lucia really is a master in weaving her words into such a delicious taboo treat for us!! Kova is my perfect book boyfriend 🖤 lol I could go on forever about how amazing this series is!!
I would have to say Lucia has stolen my heart in the forbidden love book department. But another favorite of mine is Madeline Sheehans Undeniable series. So juicy and taboo.
I’m going old school with Flowers in the Attic. That series is the first that really shocked me. Probably because I was 13😳😳. Thank you for the chance!
My favorite forbidden romance is Torn by Carina Cole and of course the off balance series by Lucia Franco!!!
Love the off balance series’n KOVA IS EVERYTHING!!! CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!!
Kova *sigh*…I don’t know whether to love him or kick his butt! It was either Grey or Nay who first introduced me to the Off Balance series…actually they may have tag-teamed me. Either way, I was hooked and read both books immediately. Now Release is out and I’m dragging my feet on reading it because I don’t want for it to be over and then I’ll be waiting for the next one….ugh…It’s the best forbidden book series ever!!
This is SO me, Michele!! And I’ve heard that Lucia is trying to destroy us with this one! Which I really love! 😉 I’m even going to put it off a few more days so that I can read it with you and Judy.
My favorite is Loving Mr. Daniels by Brittainy C. Cherry <3 thanks for the chance!
Well you all know my favorite taboo romance! Of course Lucia Franco’s Off Balance series. There is just something forbidden and naughty about a sixteen year age difference. Throw in a hot, Russian gymnastic coach and his innocent student with a sassy mouth and BAM! You’ve made my day. The Idea of You by Robinne Lee comes in second, cuz that book is hottt too! Third is Maldemores….because cousins folks! And it was angsty and hit me in the gut.
Did you finish Release, Robyn? I almost started Maldemores the other day. I’ve moved it up on my tbr.
I finishing up a book then on to Release. I so excited to see what happens but I also don’t want it to end and have to wait for the next book.
You will love Maldemores.
All the ugly and wonderful things by Bryn Greenwood
Comment:…Oh yes that is a good one too!!
I read You. Me. Bed. Now last week… it did have so much potential. I hate to rate it 1 start though because of all the Kiwi/Samoan/NZ/rugby errors – just couldn’t get past that.
Definitely On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves. I couldn’t put it down. Still one of my all time favorites together with Beautiful Disaster.
Ela, Michele G., Lisa A., Judy (I’m not sure she ever comes on here??) and I are getting ready to BR “The Five” by Lily White in the GR group if anyone wants to join. I *think* we’re going to start tonight/tomorrow, and it’s free with KU!
I read The Five and loved it!
Robyn–I’m at 91% and am also loving it! I love a suspense book that keeps me guessing and then smacks me upside the head at the end!
ME TOOOOO!! What book is it?
Doh! Never mind I just scrolled up and saw Robyn’s comment. LOL!! 😛
I am in love with this series. It is so good and I think it’s now my favorite forbidden series!
My favorite was “Loving Mr. Daniels” BY Brittney Cherry. There was another really good one about a swim coach and his student but, I can’t think of the name of the book for the life if me. Loved them both so much.
Denise–I read that book about the swim coach and LOVED it! I also can’t remember the name. I’m going to look at my shelves on GR…
Thank you for suggesting Nia Forrester Jan and Natasha. I will read her book Snowflake first since I just finish Release by Lucia Franco.
Snowflake and Rhyme and Reason are kinda new adult. I liked them, but my favs are the ones with more mature characters like Afterwards and The Fall. Hope you enjoy, Mary ann. I love this author’s writing.
I really started to enjoy psychological thrillers lately and I strongly reccomend Behind her eyes. But I also just finished The last mrs Parrish and it was amazing!
The GROUND RULES and the OFF BALANCE SERIES are my favorite “forbidden” books/series. Would love to win a signed paperback.
I have been living in torture for this book. I wish I would have waited but each new release I get to re read the book before it
Great post! I personally love step-brother romance it is a different question that I don’t really consider them forbidden.
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma and All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood.
Trying to motivate myself to go take an early morning walk with the dog.
It’s worth it! She’ll wear out that energy and you’ll feel better too. Sets the mood for the day, I think.
My all time favorite forbidden / taboo love story is Release. It brought me out of my comfort zone. . . Showed me a whole new world of taboo angst. And don’t get me started on KOVA. I have been team Kova since the very beginning. He gets my blood pumping. 😍😍
Old school Twilight books for forbidden romance. Giveaway looks great!
I’m not entering the comp cos I’m not much into tabooey type reads. Just poppin in to say g’day.
I’ve been having some winners with new releases lately and I’ve read a few in the last few weeks. Now I’m reading Susan Fanetti’s new one, Carry The World and really liking it. I’m 2/3 through already and just got it yesterday. Very different from her series books. It’s a beautiful slow-burn romance if you’re into that. I LOVE both MCs. Set in 1930s/depression era Appalachians. A lonely widowed mountain man trying to raise his two kids on his own in a remote mountain area. A lonely widow employed by the government as a travelling librarian. She rides her horse into remote areas to visit every two weeks with a fresh load of books. Oh yeah…….. It’s actually a beautiful story.
That sounds interesting.
I’ve been reading all day and just finished. It’s a really beautiful book. I cried (happy tears) through the whole last part. *sniffs* 4.5 stars (and that’s high for me LOL).
This does sound really good
Yes! I love the sound of this one too. Thank you Jan!
Hello my favorite taboo book is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21902610-shade-s-fall
Or https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35674130-easton. Oh my I actually have a whole list of taboo favorites, To many to choose from.
Nay!! I’m almost halfway through “The Silent Patient” and I’m totally into it!!! 😀
Omg I can’t wait till you’re finished!!
You guys it is SO good. I was/am devastated for a certain discovery…
Yay! I was afraid to ask. Just wait!
I feel like I already know what the twist is… but… if I’m right, I’ll be happy ’cause it’s clever!
Maryse–I thought I knew, but I was really, really wrong. Like the most wrong I could have been. I need to vaguely comment on it, but I’m going to wait until you’re finished.
GASP!!! I’m at 90% and still am sure of myself. OH HOW I HOPE I AM WRONG!!!!!!!
OH. EM. GEE.
WHAT THE HECK AM I READING???????? WHAT??? WHHHHHHAT????? I AM SO WRONG???????????
I was so wrong. And that. Was. AWESOME.
I know, right? I’m glad you loved it!
“I was/am devastated for a certain discovery…”
*perks up*
Do I need to click this one?
I’m thinking yes, Amy!!
Okay, after your reaction to the…twist? Ending?
CLICK.
The Bride Test and Storm Cursed. I can not wait.
Storm Cursed is my biggest YAY this month! Only two more days. (Well, Mon and 9-10pm)
I want to get caught up on Mercy (I’m 3 behind), but I just can’t get past the one where Adam’s ex moves back–Night Broken. I’ve been trying to read it (listen to it) for 3 years, and I keep losing interest and forgetting about it! It got great reviews, so I don’t know what the problem is.
I’m listening to the most recent Jane Yellowrock right now. As soon as I finish that, I’m going back to Night Broken and get it finished.
It’s a hard one to read. The one right after makes up for it. I think it’s just because it’s not as good as the rest of the series. Any other PNR, it’d be good, but in comparison to the rest of the Mercy series, it’s not.
Yes! Storm Cursed!
So, Fluffy was a DNF @ 28% for me. *sigh*
I just couldn’t read it anymore. The attempt at humor was overdone, the banter felt forced, and I was cringing rather than being amused. I should have known when I read her BFF’s name…Perky. Really? Perky?? I know there was a meaning behind it, but still…it’s annoying, not cute or clever.
Oh well, now I’m on to Balance since all this talk of forbidden romance has me in the mood to read one, and I clicked it quite a while ago. 😀
Awww! Too bad Amy! That did look cute. Oh well. Thank you for guinea pigging it for us. 😀
Not entering the giveaway.
Ok, I *think* I am finally caught up on all the posts I have missed. This last month has been hectic between my daughter’s prom and last minute college visits and “discussing” with my daughter what college she will decide on. She ultimately decided on Drexel University. She has some friends who are also going there but she is not sure if she wants to room with friends or take her chances with someone she doesn’t know. We also still have her graduation party to plan and her graduation coming up in a few weeks.
I also can’t seem to shake this funk I am in. I just feel sad and like I am waiting for something or missing something. I think it’s all the things on my list that need to get done in a short amount of time and the bittersweet feelings about my daughter’s graduation and ultimately leaving home. Gah.
I think I need a happy book…
Oh, it will be such a big change for all of you. A whole different life phase.
On a lighter note you should go to Japan, Korea, and Scotland with Amy, Jan, and I …..you might feel better.
Or KCon to see Taemin.
Sounds good! 😉
Oh, read the Bride Test with me on Tuesday.
Bev, I would but I am only doing KU books right now.
Good plan. I have 10 really good looking ones lined up and I never get to them. As I am right now those ten would keep me reading for a couple months, lol. One is even kpop based.
Have her figure out how close the friendship is and if she can handle being around that person practically 24/7. 🙂 Some people, no matter how much you like them, you can’t handle being around them, especially if you are neat and they are messy or vice versa. 🙂
That said… *hugs* https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1228.Humorous_Romance_Books Happy giggly books that might help.
Also!!
The whole entire “Comedy Romance” section here: https://www.maryse.net/tag/comedy-romance
Thanks Maryse. Checking it out now.
Tessa, she finally decided to compromise and request the same dorm as the one her friends are requesting, but not to be roommates. I think it is a good plan.
That sounds perfect. That way they are near and hopefully her random roommate will not drive her nuts, or if she does, she doesn’t lose a friendship over it.
Sounds like you do need a happy book, Cheryl! Sorry you’re in a funk.
My happiest times in college were when I was rooming with my high school best friend. Then she flunked out after our freshman year and I got put with someone I didn’t know. I didn’t enjoy that AT ALL. Some people meet their lifelong best friend at college, but the 2 roommates I had that I didn’t know were nothing like me, so even though I had bunches of other friends there, those 2 semesters were my least favorite.
Then my best friend came back and we lived with each other the rest of our time there, and it was awesome again! I guess it depends on a lot of factors, but for me, the best friend was definitely better. And we didn’t always get along, but I’d rather not get along with my friend than not get along with a stranger. Just my two cents!
Nay, I had similar concerns and thoughts but my daughter just went to London and roomed with two of her best friends and she said they drove her nuts. One sang ALL.The.Time. Can’t remember what bothered her about the other friend. Think it made her think twice about the rooming with friends. I think being in the same dorm is great because can easily visit and hang out but go back to her room if they are getting on her nerves, or vice versa. I also think after the first year she will have real experience to go on to see if she then wants to room with a friend.
I would drive your daughter insane. I’m singing ALL THE TIME too. lol
It’s funny that you’d mention that, Cheryl. When my best friend flunked out, our other best friend (whom we met when we got to college) was in the choir, and she sang ALL the time, talked about singing all the time. I loved her, but there was NO way I was going to ask her to room with me when I found out my best friend was leaving! You for sure have to pick someone you’re compatible with or it could definitely ruin a friendship.
One of these days I will convince you all to watch a drama with me. We should totally do a rabbit watch with it….its fun.
Fight My Way is pretty fun. Summer fun.
Just think about it.
Would you look back and regret the summer?
I think not.
I , Jan, Tessa, Cheryl will eat ramen.
Amy will do soju bombs with R.
Maryse will eat sprouts in water and call it ramen.
so true. So true.
P.S. I just made Keto bread (size and texture – think somewhat… “english muffins”) and toasted my slices, put all natural peanut butter and sugar free blackberry jam and you can call me a happy camper!!!! A full on PB&J!!! YAY ME! 😀
I’ve been doing the no added sugar and low carb diet, so I can relate Maryse. So no ramen for me Bev!! 😉
Ha ha ha. I don’t mind a bit of ramen now and then LOL. Maryse, your keto bread sounds like it was a success. Nicer than sprouts and water. Eek!
LOL!!
She’s kind of right, that bev. 😉 My “Ramen” is Shiritaki noodles (looks just like ramen noodles and very similar in consistency) but actually made form some sort of Japanese Yam.
Mind you, we can have full on chicken broth and salt, so yeah… I’d throw in that ramen packet into my “noodles” and some veggies and meat and YAY ME!!! RAMEN NOODLES.
Mind you… “yams = sprouts = yeah I can see that” 😉
Finished 3 books off my spring TBR list so far. Just started the 4th. Whoot. May actually finish before summer…..then make a small summer list.😊
😀 !!! bev has got her book-groove back!!!
Don’t forget to tell us which ones you loved… <3
