<— THIS IS THE STAR OF TODAY’S FRIDAY FINDS SHOW!! Okay so while I’m not the biggest fan of beards… after all of these recommendations for Beautifully Cruel, how could I resist?? Especially since I’ve loved another book by this author – BIG TIME (Book Review – Perfect Strangers). I’m so excited!!!
Mony: Almost forgot to tell you about a book mentioned here a week ago. Beautifully Cruel by J.T. Geissinger. Just finished it as part of a group read…couldn’t stop…read it all at once. A delicious scrumptious read… 5 stars for me…grumpy hot mysterious alpha, sassy chick, hot chemistry, slow burn, some steamy scenes, …sadly I also like that he’s wealthy – lol Just my kind of book!
Rae: Just Finished J T Geisinger Beautifully Cruel. Slow, Slowly and then K’CHING! Liam Black GAH! 5 stars from me.
Mary Ann: He had me at “Hullo” even if he is grumpy. It was a 5 ⭐️ for me. I gave me a few chuckles specially the part when Truvy talked to her Mom. They have so many similarities yet so different in depths.
Kelly: So good I read it straight through. However I swear I’ve read it a few years ago. Does anyone know if the author re released it?
Ann: Ha, how unobservant I am, finished Beautifully Cruel last night and loved it too. But just reading your Friday finds opening comments and I’m beard? Liam doesn’t have a beard? Then I noticed the cover, I’ve read a few other books by J.T. Geissinger obviously I chose this based on past experience with the author and the synopsis definitely not the cover picture. 👍👍 Was good.
Maryse: Sooooo… NO BEARD?? YAYYYYY!!! This makes me even happier!!!
Joy: Hi everyone! Maryse, I’m reading Beautifully Cruel and am into it soooooo hard! I’m picturing Stuart Reardon as Liam! He’s all sorts of yumminess, has loads of tats and I think he’s of Irish descent. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
Stacy: I read Beautifully Cruel earlier this week and loved it!

First off, you know I loved the southern setting…and I also liked the different take on vampire imagery. I highly recommend it…but be warned it is a bit gruesome.

The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne <— SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! SO MANY HERE WENT CRAZY FOR THIS ONE! Kathy found it on super-bargain sale!
Kathy: The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne is on sale… This is a historical romance but is one of the best that I have read. It has darker themes than some of your traditional historical romances.
Jane: The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne. It’s got it all. It’s HR, long lost love. Found love, but doesn’t know it. Dorian is a scoundrel, Farah Leigh is kryptonite. I love the writing. I love the Audible narrator. LOVE it.
MichelleS: I found the Highwayman on this list & gave it a try. Absolutely loving it. Tortured hero, in love since childhood – she is his little “fairy” with white blonde hair. Met in an orphanage. I love this mushy stuff!

Good morning and happy Friday!
Still loving Hidden Bodies. I highly, HIGHLY recommend the audio books for both You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes. As I mentioned in the other post, the narrator, Santino Fontana, deserves huge props. He captures Joe (and all the characters) perfectly. The writing is great and, combined with the narration, this is one of the most entertaining audios I’ve listened to in a while.
I need to read You first then I will start this one! I am listening to The New Husband by DJ Palmer. Never heard of this Author before but I am thoroughly enjoying this book!
It is awesome and I don’t have a clue how its going to end. I have 2 hours left of listening.
Highly recommend and the narration is great! (there are 2 narrators-the mother and teenage daughter and both are terrific!)
Check it out!
PERFECT!!! Thank you Shirley. I’m looking it up right now. 😀
The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne is on sale for $.99. This is a historical romance but is one of the best that I have read. It has darker themes than some of your traditional historical romances.
OH YES SOOOO MANY love that one! I’m adding it. 😀 GREAT FIND Kathy!!
Hi everyone! Maryse, I’m reading Beautifully Cruel and am into it soooooo hard! I’m picturing Stuart Reardon as Liam! He’s all sorts of yumminess, has loads of tats and I think he’s of Irish descent. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
Eeeeep! I need to start this ASAP
I read Beautifully Cruel earlier this week and loved it! Next up…looking forward to the release of Queen Move. Her All the King’s Men duet was fabulous.
YAY!!! I think I need to start BC next!!
Ha, how unobservant I am, finished Beautifully Cruel last night and loved it too.
Sooooo… NO beard?? YAYYYYY!!! This makes me even happier!!!
I don’t like beards either Maryse. Yay yay
Maybe we should buddy read this one next?
Inside my head I didn’t picture Liam with a beard, and if there was mention of it I subconsciously skipped it because I don’t like beards either. As far as I’m concerned no beard
Excellent! That’s the next read for me, and I’ll picture beard-less too. 😀
P.S. I was hoping there wouldn’t be too many beard reminders as I was reading, so now I’m relieved.
I have just finished a couple of books one life Forgotten by Layne Deemer loved it. 5 stars. Annnddd One moment please by Amy Dawes which was also really good. Highly recommend both.
YAY!! Thank you Melinda. I’ll add these to the next batch of recommendations. 😀
I noticed you have Nicky F. Grant’s Hers to Protect on the list above. I read an ARC of this and really enjoyed it! It’s a great storyline with a strong woman in the lead and a hot scientist as her love interest. For a novella, I found it to be a very fleshed out plot. I highly recommend!
Thank you for the feedback on it, Michele!!!! 😀
Happy Sunday everyone
Sun finally shining here & 25 deg C….no snow for 2 weeks and so think we’re in the clear.
I’m taking a break from angsty, intense, sometimes violent, reads – Mercy Thomson series, Gypsy King, Cinder and more. So on to feel good books…
First up, Pool Man by Sabrina York – an amazing “palate cleanser” from all the angst. The reader is brought into the story right away…followed by a very hot guy, Caribbean setting, margaritas, steamy scenes & belly laughs. Good quality – not your usual mass fiction read. Highly recommend. (book as good as its cover) lol
Then I re-read Teardrop Shot by Tijan…I had said earlier that Reese was one of my top BBFs, Tasha mentioned she might to read it and well, needed to read about more good guys, and there we are. I think it was better the second time around. Not your usual sports romance…not overly done and the sassy girl is unique.
Finally, I’m reading a new series called Spotless (Spotless #1) by Camilla Monk (last book of series now released). It’s about a gentlemanly/hard ass professional killer and a nerdy IT woman…she finds him in her apartment ready to do “bad things” to her, and then things go from there. Edgy, lots of action, funny, travel, compelling characters, great dialogue… Highly recommend.
My mom (in Quebec) is also getting ready to plant her garden now. She grew some baby tomatoes and carrots from seed, and they sprouted so wonderfully!
ooh…I should do that too. I always have to look if the growth time works me – short season. 🙂
Just finished beautifully Cruel. I devoured it. I’m in love with Liam. He is definitely my new book boyfriend. We just moved last week so life has been chaotic. This is the first book I’ve been able to read in a while. Definitely 5 stars!
This one will be my next. Too many awesome reactions to it. Thank you Shara!! 😀
