BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! KATE STEWART’S LATEST IS LIVE!!!! The Real <— THIS. SOUNDS. AWESOME & ROMANCE ANGSTY!!!! She meets him at the coffee shop… ➔➔➔➔

…We both agreed to check our bags at the door and put our future hopes and aspirations on the table. It worked.

I fell in love with his no holds barred attitude, sexy smirk, and undeniably good heart . . . and for a while we forgot about our baggage. We happily tripped over it to get to the other, neither of us willing to show the contents of our pasts in the off chance it could ruin us.

We built our love on a foundation of gray. It was life in black and white that threatened to tear us apart…”

Friday the 13th!!! Holy moly this should be a scary Friday Finds post BUT IT IS NOT!!! ;) It would be fun to theme it since I love the scary ones, but I know my fellow readers (along with me) love the LOVE… so fiiiiiiiiiiine. I’ll spare ya. *snort* That said, we have some goodies for you (just went live, reader recommendations & bargain finds).

  • My Unexpected Love (The Beaumont Series – Next Generation Book 2) by Heidi McLaughlin <— HEIDI MCLAUGHLIN’S LATEST IS LIVE!!! BEST FRIENDS & TRAGEDY……From the moment Elle James met Ben Miller they’ve been best friends. Everything they did, they did it together, from late night study sessions, family vacations, throwing bottles off the water tower, going to prom and finally moving to California for college. However, after the almost tragic accident where she nearly lost her twin sister, Elle’s life hasn’t been the same, and neither has her relationship with Ben. One fateful decision changes the scope of Ben and Elle’s relationship...”
  • Rebel Heir: Book One (The Rush Series) by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward <— WE HAVE FEEDBACK!!!

Marion: Rebel Heir by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward is sooooo good can’t wait for the next book. This writing duo rocks! … I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see where this story goes!

Amanda: I would literally pay them $100 for the second book right now lol.

  • His Dark Game: The Complete Games Duet by C.D. Reiss <— LIVE!! CD REISS ALERT!!! Duet bundle ;) HIS WIFE WANTS TO LEAVE HIM… he has a proposition. ;) “…She wants the business they built badly enough to go to the cottage for a month. Cut off ties to the world and do his bidding. She can submit to him with her body, but her heart will never yield. She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage. She’s wrong.
  • Wrapped In My Wife by Alexa Riley <— LIVE!!! ALEXA RILEY’S LATEST MARITAL BLISS ALERT!! SHE GETS A NEW JOB & HER HUSBAND IS JEALOUS… (but I think in a sweet-totally-in-love-with-her way) ;) “…When Emily takes a job at the local library she’s not prepared for a creepy new boss. She misses her family, but she’s determined to make it work. But little does she know her husband is on the prowl, and nobody gets in the way of what still belongs to only him...”
  • Love Notes by Michelle Windsor <— LIVE!! ROCK STAR ALERT!! “...After a perfect summer of endless sunny days falling in love, Justin leaves to pursue his dream of becoming a successful song writer.  Promises are made to reunite, but when Sydney discovers he’s taken something precious from her, all trust is shattered and love is lost. Sydney seeks him out four years later with shocking news, altering both of their lives forever...”
  • Our Unscripted Story by L.A. Fiore <— L.A. FIORE’S LATEST & WE HAVE FEEDBACK! Cheryl was into it!
Cheryl: Just finished Our Unscripted Story. I forget who said the blurb sounds great … but you were so right! I loved it. The story followed the MC’s who met as teens. There was such angst wondering if they would end up together and along with that I also had such foreboding that something really bad was going to happen. I think it was the cover that started that thought. I was really hoping it wasn’t going to be one of “those” books. You know the one’s Amy and Maryse love. I’m back and forth between 4.5-5 stars. Couple things were a bit of a stretch for me.
  • STAR (A 44 Chapters Novel) by B.B. Easton <— REAL LIFE ROCK STAR ROMANCE ALERT!! B.B. EASTON’S LATEST IS LIVE!! So many of my book-buds are IN LOVE with this series!!! “...he showered her with tenderness, took her places she’d never been before, and showed her the type of all-consuming love she’d thought only existed in fairy tales. But, like any good fairy tale, BB’s road to happily ever after was paved with challenges, and right when she least expected it…it forked. In 1999, Brooke “BB” Bradley met her Prince Charming. In 2000, she met her soul mate…” (P.S. Here’s the whole series)
  • The Biker’s Baby by Sam Crescent <— LIVE!! STEAMY THREESOME ALERT!! “...John cannot have kids, can’t give his wife the baby she so desperately craves. But his best friend Gunner can. There’s only one solution, and that’s to get his friend to knock his wife up. Seeing a chance to be with Scarlett, Gunner agrees, but only if they don’t tell her their motives…
  • Benching Brady (The Perfect Game Series) by Samantha Christy <— LIVE!! BASEBALL PLAYER ALERT!! “ throws me a curveball. And I may never play the game I love again. Then I meet her. She represents everything I’ve lost…
  • Emerald (Red Hot Love Series Book 2) by Elle Casey <— LIVE!! ELLE CASEY ALERT!! Her father was a famous rock star… and then she meets another one… “…When she found out her father was a member of the legendary rock group Red Hot, sensitive Em was determined to carry on as normal—she had no interest in finding out more about her dad or leaving her quiet sanctuary in Maine. But while visiting Amber in New York, Em meets Sam, a tortured, sexy, and utterly unsuitable musician. Sam and Em are used to life behind the scenes but their undeniable attraction is about to put them right in the spotlight. When Sam reveals a shocking secret about his past, Emerald has to make a choice...”
  • Bound by Ravage: A Taste of the Ravage MC by Michelle Ryan <— BIKER BOOK BUNDLE ALERT!! “Included are four full length novels from the Ravage MC Series. Two from the original Ravage MC Series and 2 from the second generation Ravage MC Bound Series.”
  • Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren <— FEEDBACK ON THIS ONE TOO!!
Marion:  I think this is the best book I’ve read so far this year. Certainly the best book this writing duo has written and they have certainly come out with some good ones. Love it!
  • The Men of Laguna by Kim Carr <— KIM KARR SERIES BUNDLE!!!Filled with hot and humorous moments, you won’t want to miss this complete series! ** This box set contains No Pants Required, Bedwrecker, and Hollywood Prince. **”
  • Nectar: The Complete Trilogy (Books 1, 2, 3) by D.D. Prince <— PARANORMAL FANS!!! Robin says this is the BEST VAMPIRE SERIES she ever read!

Robin C: Hello, I am a avid reader living North of Seattle and stumbled across the BEST vampire series that I have ever read. I found it because Book One is free and when I started it, I could not put it down. It takes the “normal” vampire lore and adds some twists that make it so original. I know you are always looking for new and fresh ideas to share so I wanted to share my find. I have started following this Canadian author and have now read every book she has written. DD Prince- The Nectar Trilogy. Have a good day.  Robin

Jessica: This book was super cute and fun!

S.E. Hall: Jessica right??? His answers in speed dating I’d have picked him too

Jessica:  I died laughing from those.

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

  1. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline <— Kooloo LOVED EVERY SINGLE VERSION of this!
Kooloo: gahhhh I can’t gush enough of about RPO peeps. I have never given 5 STARS to ALL THREE: Book, Audiobook, Movie. It’s like the Trinity or something or is it the Bermuda Triangle, no no the Last Unicorn??? Bahhh You know what I mean :o

Good morning! Happy Friday!!

Leslie M April 13, 2018 at 6:53 AM

Happy Friday!!! :)

*sets off Grey’s glitter bomb*

Amy April 13, 2018 at 7:18 AM

Good morning ladies!! Friday the 13th doesn’t bother me as much as full moons do…man, people get kinda crazy when those come out. :?

Tasha J April 13, 2018 at 7:35 AM

Friday the 13th has always been a good day for me *knocks on wood* and I finished Broken Girls at like 1am last night, was seriously questioning my smarts at 10 when it was dark and all the ghost bits were freaking me out! It’s like that episode on Supernatural where you say the chicks name 3 times and she appears outta the mirror or whatever and murders you. That’s how I felt. And unexpectedly, it starts raining, a slow trickle, and I wasn’t sure it was rain at first, making myself so paranoid I almost called my husband at work. Lol This is why I can’t do scary and it’s always elevated pregnant! I’m sure for you experienced horror people, this book was nothing though! ;) I still really loved it.

bev April 13, 2018 at 8:40 AM

Bloody Mary?
Was that her name?

You never did that at SLUMBER parties and then were afraid to look in bathroom mirrors?

MichelleS April 13, 2018 at 9:06 AM

I never did that at slumber parties! We did the Oija Board, which freaked me out, and seances! Middle school.

My biggest scaredycat moment was the Doctor Who episode with the stone angels that’s moved when lights went out & got closer & closer to people. Gah!!! So freaky.

MichelleS April 13, 2018 at 9:08 AM

Happy Friday the 13th!

Scariest movie ever, ladies???

For me – Nightmare on Elm Street. Just the thought of someone being able to kill you in your dreams. Shudder.

MichelleS April 13, 2018 at 9:09 AM

Amy – full moons? We’ve been reading too many werewolf stories!!!

Leslie M April 13, 2018 at 9:19 AM

*happy dance in pile of friday glitter*

I finally read something that held my interest!!

Sugar Daddy by Sawyer Bennett 4.5 ****

The h was gang raped as a teenager and 10 yrs later she recognizes one of her rapists on tv. She vows revenge and in trying to get to him she falls in love with his best friend/business partner.

This ends in a hella cliffy. Fingers crossed rest of series is good too!

R. Renee April 13, 2018 at 9:33 AM

This new DKNY ad with Sam Clafin made me think of you guys since he’s been mentioned in here recently. So swoony, but is anyone else scanning the screen for speeding motorcycles while watching this? It’s like dude, stop dancing and pay attention to your surroundings!

R. Renee April 13, 2018 at 9:36 AM

Oh yeah! It’s Friday the 13th! A legit holiday in my book!

Tasha J April 13, 2018 at 9:37 AM

Nope, never did that, but liked the stories and maybe it was a jump rope thing? I don’t quite remember, but YES! That was her name. This ghost isnt her, but made me think of her. I did Oija too! That was the best.
Scariest movie for me will ALWAYS be Pet Semetary. When we were probably 8 we’d borrow scary movies like Silver Bullet and such from my cousin’s neighbor, sneak them upstairs and watch em in my Uncle’s room while my Gma babysat. No one ever knew what we were watching, such rebels we were! And I was always terrified of going upstairs alone bc of that.

Leslie M April 13, 2018 at 9:48 AM

R, thanks for that delicious piece of eye candy! I love him. Believe it or not, I watched Me Before You. The book would break me, but movie I could handle.

Tasha, Pet Cemetery is a scary one!

I did all those crazy, scary things at slumber parties. Light as a feather/stiff as a board, seance, ouija, etc. Creepy stuff I would be too scardies to do today. *shivers*

Tasha J April 13, 2018 at 9:51 AM
Jean April 13, 2018 at 10:03 AM

TGIF!!! Hello ladies!

I remember doing the Ouija in a cemetery!! I don’t think I’d do that now. Scariest movie was always Texas Chainsaw Massacre because it was supposedly a true story!

I’m reading Outnumbered….. it’s quite intriguing!

Leslie, glad to see you’ve gotten out of your slump! I have that book!!

R, I’m really liking Sam especially after seeing him in Me Before You!

Tasha J April 13, 2018 at 10:08 AM

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe u played it in a cemetery Jean! I’d have died!! I forgot about Texas Chainsaw. *shudders* We did a haunted thing after watching that, me never having been in one that used chainsaws, imagine that one. Lol

Kathy P. April 13, 2018 at 10:59 AM

The Real by Kate Stewart is out today. It looks really good!

Leslie M April 13, 2018 at 11:32 AM

Woe is me!! I still have my stupid infection and have to do another round of antibiotics. :(

bev April 13, 2018 at 3:01 PM

Freddy Krueger terrified me.

Any story with serial killers.

Oh, and when a bad guy’s day job is as a butcher.

Maryse April 13, 2018 at 3:51 PM

Oooooh Tasha!!! My other book twin. YES PLEASE I WANT TO READ THAT!!!!! :D !!!!

R. Renee April 13, 2018 at 6:54 PM

Hey guys I have an update! Remember a while back when I posted about my friend and the DNA test and him finding out he had a daughter? I couldn’t be super specific then because it wasn’t my news to share, my “friend” is also family and the paternity test came back today. I’m officially an aunt! I’ve watched the “meeting” video 3 times now and can’t stop crying. What a beautiful thing to come out of an Amazon Cyber Monday sale.

Jan April 13, 2018 at 6:56 PM

Ouija in a cemetery????? Eeeeep! I read a couple Stephen King books as a teenager and that was IT! Couldn’t do it anymore. Literally had nightmares about creepy vampires from Salem’s Lot and creepy stuff from Pet Sematery. *shudders*

Jan April 13, 2018 at 6:57 PM

OMG R. that’s a lovely story!

bev April 13, 2018 at 7:07 PM

I’m happy for you and your family R. Congrats!!

bev April 13, 2018 at 7:25 PM

Sorry about the infection but glad you found your mojo Leslie.

bev April 13, 2018 at 7:40 PM

Just for the hell of it I decided to go back and see what we were talking about a year ago.
Man we can chatter.

Leslie M April 13, 2018 at 7:45 PM

R, that is a crazy story! I love hearing about reunions like that. Yay for your family.

Jan April 13, 2018 at 7:58 PM

Haha bev. What a fun idea. Yep, we can chatter alright.

Maryse April 13, 2018 at 8:44 PM

My favorite beauty vlogger focuses on Korean “Glass skin” look!!!

bev April 13, 2018 at 10:05 PM

It is a pretty look. I’m glad she did it through makeup, because usually it’s skincare. Let’s be real to get that look naturally is taking care of what really really good genes gave you.

This is the viral photo:

Maryse April 13, 2018 at 10:18 PM

Ahhhhh I was wondering what photo she was talking about. I’ve always ALWAYS loved the dewy glow look for years now… that’s my favorite. A peachy, barely there dewy glow.

bev April 13, 2018 at 10:58 PM

Who comes to mind is JLo, lol. She can go for the full makeup but always has, as you said, that dewy glow.

bev April 13, 2018 at 11:01 PM

I wish my skin looked like that photo or how your makeup artist makes hers look. It’s so pretty.

So this is fun, how a male author would describe you

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 1:52 AM

Thanks guys! I still can’t get over it! What a whirlwind!

Melinda April 14, 2018 at 7:37 AM

Robin, congrats, that’s lovely news. Is it a boy or a girl and how old.? A baby or teenager?

I have finished both Transend and Epoch solid 5 stars for both I loved them. Just wish it went longer. I wasn’t ready for it to finish. Now I’m in a massive book hangover.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 7:38 AM

It’s a girl! And she’s in her 30s! :D

Leslie M April 14, 2018 at 7:53 AM

R, I don’t remember the original story….how did a dna test find an unknown daughter? That is so incredibly cool. I would love being reunited with long lost relatives. I can’t even imagine the joy in that.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 8:02 AM

She’d been looking for him for years, so she did the DNA thing and was automatically in the system. Then my sis in law bought them for Christmas gifts just for fun and her husband’s came back showing a niece he wasn’t aware of! At that point it was just process of elimination!

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 8:03 AM

But with all the kits on the market now, how crazy is it that they both did the exact same one?

bev April 14, 2018 at 11:17 AM

For those who listen to podcast, romance book themed ones. I’ve listened to a couple (SBTB &Scandal) will check some others out.

bev April 14, 2018 at 11:18 AM
bev April 14, 2018 at 1:31 PM

Maryse has a new review up.

Tessa April 14, 2018 at 1:45 PM

Congrats Robin! That’s exciting.

Friday the 13th was awesome. Walked into a bank having a grand opening, and they were super nice and decked out. The bachelorette went off without a hitch until the 14th. Lol

I never watched it, but caught one scene, but I will NEVER willingly watch Nightmare on Elm Street. The one scene gave me nightmares for years. Hell no to horror for a reason.

At slumber parties, everyone else did bloody Mary, not me. I’d never be able to go into a bathroom if I had.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 3:51 PM

MichelleS…we can never read too many werewolf stories! :D But the kind of full moons I’m talking about are the ones which brings out the weird in people. Like the guy who asked since he couldn’t donate because of previous IV drug use, could I draw his blood and give him a tube of it. WTAF.

Oh R, that is such a BEAUTIFUL and heartwarming story!

Seriously, ladies? Ouija and Blood Mary?? I have never, ever been brave enough to do those. And in a cemetery no less?!? *shivers*

Amy April 14, 2018 at 3:55 PM

Sam Claflin… *swoony sigh* He just has that whole hot-but-obtainable look going for him. This…THIS part in POTC is what sealed my adoration of him (the quality is not very good, but you get the gist of it):

Whew!! Does he ever make a hot priest. :P

I’m envious of those of you who can pull off the dewy look. I always just look oily.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 3:56 PM

Oh for the love of…WRONG VIDEO!

THIS is the one I meant to post:

Amy April 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM

Never mind. The first video has the same clip but MUCH clearer. *sigh* I’m going for a run now, hopefully to run off my spazziness…

bev April 14, 2018 at 4:07 PM

Sorry I have to post something else. It’s just I’m used to Sharing my book obsessions with all of you. Not a book bit obsessed with this show and heroine. She is so complex, sad, and a total freaking boss. Just love it.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 4:08 PM

We did Ouija, bloody mary, and light as a feather/stiff as a board. And we tried to hold our own seances even though we didn’t have a clue what we were doing.

bev April 14, 2018 at 4:21 PM

I never would of thoight back realized that was him Amy.

I had the biggest long-term crush on Depp. I still can’t believe what a downward spiral that turned into.

bev April 14, 2018 at 4:22 PM

Cheryl April 14, 2018 at 4:23 PM

Scary movie: The Blair Witch Project. Still gives me goosebumps just thinking about scene “against the wall.”

Finished Transcend/Epoch. Loved the story and the writing but, bothered me with the back and forth between Griffin and Swayze. Conflicted over the ending.

Now to read something funny!

Cheryl April 14, 2018 at 4:49 PM

R. that is wonderful news! After Transcend/Epoch- talk about fate!!

Amy April 14, 2018 at 5:13 PM

Yep bev…I had the biggest crush on him after PoTC, then found out he would be Finnick *fans self*, and THEN when I found out he was going to be Will in Me Before You… *THUNK*

And he seems absolutely smitten with his wife which is the sweetest thing ever in a guy. Well, next to a hot guy cradling his child. ;)

Amy April 14, 2018 at 5:15 PM

Cheryl! I still love that movie!! In fact, it was on HBO or Cinemax or one of those channels recently and it STILL freaked me out even though I already knew what was going to happen.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 5:17 PM

OMG Amy it is!! That’s one of the reasons I have a mad crush on Jeff Bridges. I’d LOVE if he made a movie about his life. Gah!!! And the other day Hugh Jackman tweeted the sweetest thing to his wife: “I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives. Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later … it only gets deeper. You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the world.” I died.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 5:30 PM

OMG R, Jeff Bridges is one of my favorites! The Big Lebowski is such a classic (John Goodman almost overshadows him though, LOL!), but he has had so many other amazing roles as well. Married to his wife for over 40 years…incredible.

And ohhhhhh, my heart…Hugh Jackman and his love for his wife. *SIGH* She’s 13 years older and was unable to have children, so they adopted two. He still seems so in love with her. I swear, pictures of those men looking adoringly at their wives makes my heart flutter.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 5:43 PM

I don’t care how old JB is. I still think he’s hot AF! I saw him perform with is band a few years ago. I thought I’d die. #swoon

bev April 14, 2018 at 5:48 PM

I’ve always thought George Strait was handsome and he’s not that much younger.

Jeff Bridges just has that laid back cool factor too.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 5:53 PM

*fistbumps R and bev*

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 5:54 PM

Yay!! We have our “hot old man club”!!! We need t-shirts.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 5:56 PM

And I’m not a fan of beards, but I’ll could get lost in JB’s and stay there a while…

bev April 14, 2018 at 5:57 PM

I feel like this has the potential to really weird really quick.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 5:58 PM

Wouldn’t be the first time bev. Not even the first time today.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 6:05 PM

Does his beard smell like sandwiches? *snort*

(Please tell me you’ve seen Identity Thief)

bev April 14, 2018 at 6:06 PM

And there it is.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 6:07 PM

LOL!!! No. I’m “out of the loop girl.” I imagine it smells like Kahlua.

bev April 14, 2018 at 6:15 PM

Or pot.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 6:21 PM

Leslie M April 14, 2018 at 7:16 PM

Ewwwwhhh…stinky beard.

Maryse April 14, 2018 at 7:26 PM

Okay I’m just pulling in now… why are we on beards?

BTW… I am NOT a beard girl but Griffin is, essentially (for me) a mix of all the hot bearded guys on covers right now. It’s just what I see (even if he hasn’t been described that way). DARN BRAIN!!!!!!!

I’ve TRIED HARD to lose that image, but alas… it has stuck. And I love Griffin, so I suppose :| < — reluctant beard girl (for NOW).

‘Cause I’m stuck with it. IN. MY. HEAD. ;) TBH I kind of like it right now… ON GRIFFIN ONLY. P.S. I am in love with Griffin.

Maryse April 14, 2018 at 7:26 PM

*scrolls down to get with the program*

Maryse April 14, 2018 at 7:33 PM

Ohhhhhh okay.

HOT older guy. Hrmmmm…

I know when I do a Google search they are all YES!!!! But I know NONE of them.

bev April 14, 2018 at 7:34 PM

I had a hard time with his image too. I kept seeing more over muscled gym rat type. I don’t mind beards but have a hard time imagining shaved heads.

Is he like a Vin Diesel (not a huge fan) or maybe a Happy from SOA?

Amy April 14, 2018 at 7:44 PM

I see bev’s image (muscled gym rat), shaved head and with a little bit of scruff, like barely there. The only time he had a beard was after the motorcycle rally so I’m okay with Griffin’s appearance. Okay, and I HAVE to imagine him with a little more than peach fuzz on his head because shaved head = Travis and I can’t start comparing the two. It’s just not right. :?

bev April 14, 2018 at 7:50 PM

Wait, Travis was bald? Why do I not remember This?

Hey, when you read Epoch picture him like Jeff Bridges…just to see.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:00 PM

OMG bev…NO!!!!! That was wrong. So wrong.

Yeah, from what I remember Travis was bald.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 8:06 PM

*whispers… guys! Don’t let Leslie in our club!!*

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 8:06 PM

Griff had hair in my mind.

Maryse April 14, 2018 at 8:07 PM

I’m thinking Travis was more military buzz cut…

I think not. ;)

Maryse April 14, 2018 at 8:09 PM

*looks up bev’s Jeff Bridges*

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:12 PM

Okay, now it’s really starting to bother me if Travis was bald or had a buzz cut. I’m going to have to pull up Beautiful Disaster and try to find where it talked about his hair…

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:14 PM

And by bald I mean shaved. There IS a difference.

I never pictured Travis with a shiny-type bald head. Oh hell no.

bev April 14, 2018 at 8:15 PM

Yeah, Leslie. You can’t be in the hot old guys with fragrant beards appreciation club.
To bad for you.
R is going to get us t shirts and everything.
Probably in black.

bev April 14, 2018 at 8:18 PM

See the shiny head is how I kept picturing Griffin.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:18 PM

This is R smelling JB’s beard…

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:20 PM

No…NO. None of our guys have shiny heads. I just can’t go there.

R. Renee April 14, 2018 at 8:28 PM

bev April 14, 2018 at 8:39 PM

I love her, she is so funny.

Amy April 14, 2018 at 8:51 PM

Right?? Melissa McCarthy is hilarious. If I could pick any celebrity to hang out with, it would be her.

Leslie M April 15, 2018 at 6:12 AM

3 things:

I would totally be prez of the Let’s Hang Out With Melissa McCarthy Club. I LOVE her!!!

Jeff Bridges?!? Really??? I am all about appreciating an older gentleman but he has no appeal to me….sorry. :(

Travis has buzzed brown hair. (Although some men pull off shaved head)

Leslie M April 15, 2018 at 7:41 AM

You guys have to watch Identity Thief!!! It was so good and so funny. Like belly laugh, my stomach hurts after funny. That was one of the many movies I watched during my book slump.

bev April 15, 2018 at 9:56 AM

MichelleS?? Micheeeelllleee.

Have you read the latest Anna & Charles book?

Anna & Jan said that it made them re think Bran. Bran! What do the author do to Bran??

R. Renee April 15, 2018 at 9:58 AM

Leslie. That cuts. Deep.

bev April 15, 2018 at 9:59 AM

3 things.

1. I read the spoiler tags for Epoch. I may tell Amy.

2. I read Anna’s spoiler tag about Bran.

3. Anna needs to be not so obscure with her spoilers. What did Briggs do to Bran??

bev April 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM

She just hasn’t smelled his beard yet. She’ll come around.

R. Renee April 15, 2018 at 10:05 AM

1. It’s so nice outside today and we have a fire going on the back patio.
2. My husband was in the doghouse last night so I hijacked the Bose with my bluetooth and put NKOTB on repeat while his friends were here. :D
3. I just had deer sausage and pan fried hominy for breakfast. #south

MichelleS April 15, 2018 at 10:29 AM

Bev – I’m reading latest Briggs now. Half done. Yes, some interesting insight on Bran. Who knew???

I didn’t picture Griffin bald. Nope. Didn’t work for me. And Travis??? No way! I must have blocked that visual out. Nothing wrong with bald, just not my H. You know?

MichelleS April 15, 2018 at 10:35 AM

I second, third? Fourth? The Jeff Bridges love. One… his voice, and two… I don’t know, he’s just got something! Remember Crazy Heart? All boozy & sloppy, but I was weirdly attracted.

Kooloo April 15, 2018 at 11:31 AM

OMG Amzzzz I love that scene! LMAO

Kooloo April 15, 2018 at 11:34 AM

I’m with you on the bald Griffin thang! I hated the pic in my head of my man Griff – I kept picturing Mr Clean. WTF

Soooo not coolio

Kooloo April 15, 2018 at 11:37 AM

I’m cooking a sirloin tip roast today for the ‘rents
First time cooking it without it submerged in beef broth and Uncovered
I hope this work :o

R. Renee April 15, 2018 at 11:40 AM

I’ve never even heard of a sirloin tip roast. I must look into this!

bev April 15, 2018 at 11:53 AM

That looks really good, except I’m all about the well done.

R. Renee April 15, 2018 at 11:57 AM

I did the exact same thing as the person in the article. I only ate well done, which makes beef about as appealing as overcooked chicken. Then I met my husband who finally convinced me to try a medium steak. Changed my life. I even eat pork medium well now. Who knew pork could be as good as a steak?

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 1:46 PM

1.) We’re having a thunderstorm so bad we’re in a Tornado “watch” or alert or something like that until 6pm.
2.) Hobbit is not happy about that, and is now wearing her “thundershirt”
3.) I cooked three chicken breasts (cut into medallions) in my air fryer and it is soooooo yummy!!!!

Good chicken pieces for my chicken cesar salads, or my chicken poutines, or my chicken bacon fettuccini alfredo this week.. :)

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 1:47 PM

Don’t tell Amy!! Or me. LOL! I’m reading it as we speak.

MichelleS April 15, 2018 at 2:09 PM

Three things:

1. Guy in the cover of Transcend was my Griffin, because, duh, I’m in control when I read.
2. Pressure cooker is perfect for beef roasts! They look red when done (not raw red, but beef red). Perfect!
3. I’m shoving pretzel sticks into my banana – best snack ever.

Tasha J April 15, 2018 at 2:15 PM

Medallions? Like pirate gold? How? And I’m gonna need to know time + temp…it’s sounds yummy!

Leslie M April 15, 2018 at 4:32 PM

Ok, what can I read next??

It’s gotta be CR, with adult characters and not too depressing. Preferably a stand alone.

Any suggestions? I want something awesome & swoony like Ghosted.

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 5:44 PM

I’m adopting MichelleS’s three things as my own. I agree with every single one.

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 5:46 PM

LOL!!!!! Tasha!

Okay I call medallions about the size of a 50 cent piece. ;) Okay so I cut the full breast in strips (half inch?? Inch?) anyway… then I cut those strips in half so they become two squares. Once fried, baked or whatever they become “medallions” ;) Cook fast, and are the perfect size for adding to any meals that would benefit from a dose of chicken.

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 5:48 PM

Oh and in my air-fryer, I do full blast (390 degrees) and I cook ‘em 15 minutes. They’re perfect (in my opinion). White right through when we cut into them, but toasty on the outside.

I also drizzle ‘em in olive oil and salt and pepper and whatever spices or sauce I’m in the mood for…

P.S. Half I did in olive oil… but I prefer drizzling them in bacon fat before cooking. ;) Just sayin’. It’s tastier in my opinion, and also, cooking olive oil at high temps always scares me. Supposedly bacon fat can take the heat.

Maryse April 15, 2018 at 5:49 PM

LESLIE!! Oh hey!! I KNOW!!! What about Transcend? ;)

Leslie M April 15, 2018 at 5:52 PM

Maryse, I knew you were gonna say that! Hee hee

I actually read spoilers for that series. :(

Grey April 15, 2018 at 6:00 PM

*waves* I’ve returned. Did a super fast ARC proof this weekend and now my eyes and brain are telling me that it’s sleepy time and it’s only 7pm. *shrug* OK brain, you win.

Amy April 15, 2018 at 6:13 PM

HA bev! I already finished Epoch so there!! *blows raspberries at bev*

Holy moly, it feels like my heart went 12 rounds with that book. I went for a pedicure and figured I would read on my phone and finish it up while the lady with the magical hands worked on my feet and legs, which was all well and good until I started sniffling and wiping my eyes. Poor lady thought I had received some bad news, LOL! I mean, that book was INTENSELY emotional throughout the whole damn thing, and then I finally get some hope right before it gave me a sucker punch and then a gut punch! Then the epilogue…I seriously had to drop my head and hide my face so she wouldn’t see how hard I was fighting the sobs.

Then…THEN! She pulls out a silver tube of leg massage gel and what is it called? Epoch. I’m so not kidding. Freaking fate right there, I tell ya. ;)

What the heck am I supposed to read now?? I’m going to be hung up on the feels from this duet for a while…5 FATEFUL STARS FOR BOTH OF THESE BOOKS!!!!

Amy April 15, 2018 at 6:14 PM

Maryse!! Hurry up and finish Epoch!!! :D

Jan April 15, 2018 at 6:37 PM

*spits coffee over sniffing beards comments* WTAH.

3 things
1. Doing a reread of Lisa Kleypas’ fantastic CR, Sugar Daddy. Soooo well-written. I’m in love with Hardy. And with Gage. OK, it’s a kinda triangle, but not……
2. Rediscovering the joys of Patricia Briggs. bev, bev, bev. I know. Bran. It’s all good. You’ve just gotta read Bro Bright for yourself. I think I’m gonna go and catch up on the rest of the Mercy series now :D
3. My son won an award for dedication to his uni studies so hubs and I are off to see him receive his award in a coupla days. Proud mum and dad alert :D

Jan April 15, 2018 at 6:39 PM

hahahaha. Oops. I mean BURN Bright not Bro Bright. What the???? (That’s Briggs’ OTHER series).

Amy, that’s kinda amazing about the Epoch gel. *cue spooky music*

Cheryl April 15, 2018 at 8:49 PM

Leslie, if you want something fun, lighthearted and on the hawt side, you could read the novella Double Score. I thought it was a sports romance since the cover had a woman with a soccer ball, but I was WRONG. It’s about a woman and her relationship with her two best friends. *wink-wink* Somewhat implausible, but heh it was KU.

Amy April 15, 2018 at 9:35 PM

Jan, right?? There I was reading a book about fate and she pulls out that tube. *shakes head*

I know the guy on the cover of Transcend is MichelleS’s Griffin, but that picture is what I kept seeing whenever the picture of Nate that Swayze had was mentioned.

GAH! I keep replaying the epilogue in my head and it keeps jerking my tears!!

Leslie M April 15, 2018 at 9:40 PM

Cheryl, you naughty minx! ;)

I was looking for something less menage-ish and more romantic.

Jean April 16, 2018 at 9:16 AM

Leslie, have you read The Game Plan series by Kristen Callihan? I think you would love it!
