I’m think I want to read a couple of novellas before I get back into the Lock and Key series, so One Good Man is looking good to me!
Maryse–the way I’ve been feeling this week, I completely forgot to mention a new release:
For the Love of Luca (Chicago Syndicate, #8) by Soraya Naomi came out on Tuesday, 4/17.
Although it’s part of the series, it can still be read as a standalone because Soraya is great at re-capping so that a new reader won’t be lost.
Up until now, books 3 & 4 (which are about a different couple) were my favorites in the series. However, this one may very well have beat them out–she really brings the angst!
Keep us posted about Birthday Girl, Maryse–I’ve seen mixed reviews from my friends (but mostly really good ones).

Transcend Leslie!! I know you said something about your slump and stuff, but I was there too! And I am loving it! I kinda, sorta went in blind and I’m over halfway now. I don’t think you’ll have trouble. Try and make it to like 10% at first and see if it’s for you. 😉
I’m 50% into Birthday Girl. I like it so far, but not love yet. It’s a very slow burn and sometimes that annoys me.
Anyway, TGIF! Looking forward to the weekend, even though it includes washing and waxing the boat….yep, it’s that time again.
I’ve tried twice to get into Birthday Girl and I don’t know if it’s me or what but I will be anxious to see what Maryse thinks. I may try and give it a third go. I’m in a major slump right now and am dying for a good read.

Hi Maryse, I was on a quest for a funny book after Transcend/Epoch and Birthday Girl. Just need total escapism because I’m nervous for something medical coming up next week…. I picked up Road Tripped by Nicole Archer and it is hilarious.SO FUNNY. Perhaps inappropriately funny to some? But absolutely what I need right now. Not sure if you read/reviewed, didn’t search but just wanted to mention. Reminds me of Wallbanger funny. Will let you know when I’m done but I have a feeling I’m going to plough through the series. Each stand alones I think but related characters?
Ohmygurd!!! I just finished Transcend and I have goosebumps! Ahh, I NEED to jump into Epoch right now and I can’t cuz life is in my way. It’s gonna drive me nuts all day.

Well, gawd! Now I’m tearing up and I’m only at like 20%. Stupid hormones.
Really, I hardly ever cry. A few weeks ago, I slammed my hand into my daughter’s drawer on a crazy spree and there was cracked wood right at the edge on the inside, jammed it straight up my thumbnail, and I look and see blood (I’m not squeemish), but I straight freaked. All I can envision is the scene in scary/thriller movies with the nails peeling back off the fingers and I wailing. My kids are screaming and clinging to me saying “what’s wrong?! you don’t cry!!” I stopped myself soon after and looked, it wasn’t that bad, but the images!!
A couple of times, Griffin and Swayze have reminded me of Ally and Noah from The Notebook (the movie, I’ve not read the book). Did anyone else ever feel like that?

I stayed up until 2am to finish Epoch. It was epic, I had a knot in my throat and tears in my eyes a good portion of it, and now I’m paying for the sleep. Bc there’s no sleeping in w/littles OR a hungry baby in the belly. :’( When I don’t sleep much, my eyes get real glassy like I’m stoned. I feel ridiculous today and I have to go to a baby shower soon for HOURS!! I should’ve stayed away, but I couldn’t resist!

Just found out my son’s girlfriend is going to Japan this summer as a study abroad. She knew about the mascara and said Japanese and Korean women are fanatical with their skin care and have the best products. *side note she is Filipino* She’s going to get me the mascara and some skin care products. Even said her brother was really into korean skin care products after dating a korean girl. Funny she was also wearing this jacket today and she said it was a K-Pop. *small world*
