I sort of feel like you all were sounding Like Charlie Brown’s teacher just now… Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. No offense, naturally, because I am sure if I picked up one of those books I would be addicted to them. Speaking of addiction… I just hit it… The one click button on Amazon. I swear, I heard it! Did you hear it? I swear, it was a choir of angels! And they were singing. You know, that song… Reunited and it feels so good…. And just like that. Almost because without intent you are free? I’m going to spend some QT with Mason and Logan and Sam!

I think I’ve passed over the Iron Fey series because it’s Harlequin Teen. I can handle YA, but teen??? Hmmmm…. okay, fine, I’ll read the sample!

DG – that one sounds funny & sexy!! Will need to add it to my list! I love stories set around restaurants, bars. Reminds me of my childhood. Grandparents owned a pub & a coffee shop. So much fun.

IDK what to do for my May challenge book! There’s a reason I DNF’d!

Lol, I have to share my blast from the past – Bastille is currently playing on pandora, we listen to folksy/indie/some pop music usually for nap time. And they’re playing What Would You Do by City High. It sounded so weird coming from them, I did a double take when I heard the lyrics. It’s been YEARS since I’ve heard that song, I used to play that cd on repeat as a teen.

*gasp* You ordered something from there, bev?? YAY!!! What did you get in that scent?

I am horrible at hair, but tempted to try some simple looking ones. But then my insecure side come out ……like are they too young looking or is everyone looking at me. So I rarely do, lol.

Even at our age we can pull off some styles that are supposed to be “younger looking.” I think the key is to not style it as “messy” or else it will look sloppy on us. I usually do what is supposed to be a messy style but then clean it up a bit with pins and hairspray.

I still struggle with trying to pull off braids though. Like you, my insecure side comes out and I am just sure people are looking at me and thinking, “does she realize she is too old for that?” 😳

BTW if it’s Harlequin Teen, just, no. I’m pretty much over YA. Even NA has to be pretty damn good to tempt me. Give me proper grown-up adults, peeps.

That’s where I found Blue’s post. It just kind of spoke to me. And I don’t even think it was just the gay thing. I don’t know. It was seriously like five lines, but it was grammatically correct and strangely poetic, and just completely different from anything I’d everl read before.

I guess it was about loneliness. And it’s funny, because I don’t really think of myself as lonely. But there was something so familiar about the way Blue described the feeling. It was like he had pulled the ideas from my head.
Like the way you can memorize someone’s gestures but never know their thoughts. And the feeling that people are like houses with vast rooms and tiny windows.
The way you can feel so exposed anyway.
The way he feels so hidden and so exposed about the fact that he’s gay.
I felt strangely panicked and self-conscious when I read that part, but there was also this quiet thrum of excitement.
He talked about the ocean between people. And how the whole point of everything is to find a shore worth swimming to.

Look, nothing against YA, bev. I’ve enjoyed many a YA in my time, especially fantasy. It just rarely floats my boat these days though, so I usually avoid it. But Simon certainly looks like one of the better ones.

I loved the tv adaptation of Confess! It made me stay up way past my bedtime so that I could finish it. I thought it was really well done, and yes, they had a beautiful cast!

I watched the first 2 eps when they released early, but I haven’t been able to fit any more in! Agree on Owen!!! Auburn…hmm…

I’m loving the paragraphs too! So, here’s mine: ““Do you really think we should keep it?”
He stares, drinking me in. “Do you want to?”
“No.” He is silent for a moment, then chuckles. “You a bad liar.” I look up and smirk. Kind of hate how he knows me yet doesn’t know me at all. Guess I love it a little bit too. Ted is so tall the top of his head almost touches the welcome sign a few inches above him. His eyes are so pretty and brown, a shade lighter than his skin, but always mellow, loving, and calm. He never looks at me the way everyone else has the last six years. He looks at me like he’s happy I’m alive. Like Alyssa used to. I could stare at him for hours if we ever had the time.
