YAY!!!! FRIDAYYYYYYY. READING ALL WEEKEND DAY!!!! I have TWO on my reading roster (one that isn’t even released yet, but I LOVE this author, and I can’t wait to dive in. I have NO clue what it’s about, and I want to be surprised, and this author tends to go “there” in the jaw-dropping ways that I love. YAY ME!!! I’ll let you guys know, soon. 😉
The other one… well…. depending on how this “ARC” turns out, my other choice might switch, if I need a genre change, but I’m thinking The Last Girl (The Dominion Trilogy Book 1) – post apocalyptic, The Widow (psych thriller!), The Fireman: A Novel (horror – and bargain priced today) OR Heat Wave (forbidden romance!! P.S. It’s still super-bargain priced!). Yeah. I have so many awesome choices.
Okay so tell me what you’re reading (now… or next). :D!!!
And… take a look at what we found! (NOTE: some are bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):
Oh, My Dragon (The I Like Big Dragons Series Book 3) by Lani Lynn Vale <— LIVE!!! LANI LYNN VALE TRILOGY CONCLUSION ALERT!!! I think each can be read as a standalone (appear to be about different couples). He’s a super-reclusive dragon softer that wants nothing to do with anyone… “That is until Wink unwittingly walks into his life, completely unaware that she’s stepped straight into the dragon’s den. Wink is just trying to get home after a long day of work. Her plans for the evening do not include stumbling upon a man with blood on his hands hovering over a dead woman in her hallway. There are three things that someone in Wink’s position should’ve done in that instance...”

Puck: Alpha One Security Book 4 by Jasinda Wilder <— LIVE!! JASINDA WILDER ALERT!!! “…I tried to convince her, and myself, that Puck Lawson wasn’t my type. - Feyness (The Red Order Book 1) by E.S. Carter <— DARK READ that was on a recent release list and Tessa couldn’t put it down!
Tessa: Alright, finished Feyness last night. I honestly didn’t want to put it down. It’s dark. And there are no fae involved. That said, I loved the story. The details were brutal, but what made me love it the most I can’t say because… spoiler. Yeah. So… Very light on the PNR aspect. It wasn’t acted upon, just random observations that didn’t really affect anything. I think it could have been used far more.
Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram <— FAMOUS ACTOR & A BLOGGER ALERT!!! This one was a recent reader question and it sounded SO good! And now it’s super-bargain priced!! 😀 P.S. Book #2 is coming out in just a few days!!!

- Fallen From Grace by Laura Leone <— HER MALE ESCORT NEIGHBOR ALERT!!! But she doesn’t KNOW that’s what he does… and bev recommends it!

The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss…“
Stripped Bare: A Vegas Billionaire Novel by Heidi McLaughlin <– RECENT RELEASE BACK ON THE LIST ’cause Bianca LOVED it!
Bianca: Omg Maryse you need to read this book!! I loved it, it gave me the feels the whole way through and Finn was just hot AF!! I vacuumed then I was about to mop and thought ‘hhhmmm the kids will wake from their nap soon….mop or read?’ Of course the answer is always read!!
- The Chosen: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward <— J.R. WARD ALERT!!! And we already have feedback! Kristy Lynn LOVED it!
Kristy Lynn: Just finished The Chosen, and immediately started crying. Tessa: Burn for Me was so good! They could write a limerick and I’d want to read it! I did like Eleanor and Park. It was super sweet, though I want more. 🙂
Young: I just finished Burn for me by Ilona Andrrew. SO GOOD!! Tessa and others for the recommendation!
Niki: Burn for me by Ilona Andrews… Such a good book if you haven’t read it!!!

Bang Gang by Jade West <— DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS TITLE… and cover . 😉 ‘Cause there is another HUGE vote for this one!!
Janet: thank you Fabi for Jade West’s ‘Bang Gang’. I stayed up all night to finish it. Yes, very, very raunchy, but also the tender story of a split, working-class British family. There’s a hilarious little daughter, grandma, best friends and, of course, a flawed handsome hero and sparky heroine who get together too young and can’t survive the babies, the hard work and the tiredness. Quite a tear jerker with an array of characters to love and hate!
- Until I Fall by Claudia Burgoa <— LIVE!! AN ER DOCTOR & A SECURITY OFFICER ALERT!! “…As a private security officer, Anderson Hawkins puts everyone’s life before his own. With his mother fighting for her life in the hospital, Anderson is hellbent on finding a way to save her. The Opposite of You (Opposites Attract Series Book 1) by Rachel Higgingson <— MY FAVORITE back on the list ’cause we have a few more that loved it like I did!

lots of treats in that list!! Happy Friday everyone!
Hey Bianca, I have perfect solution to your “mop or read” dilemma. Get the audiobook and do both!!!
Kids napping and you don’t want to wake them?? No problem…just use headphones.
There! Problem solved!! 😉
With that said, I’m going to find an audiobook to keep me company while I clean my house.
Hey Leslie? Who’s Bianca?
Oh in the comments????
Yup Ela…I saw Bianca’s conundrum in comments and since I’m such a giver….*grins*….I thought I’d offer up my wisdom.
Okay, I rarely do swoony quotes, but this one got me.
I know outside this house there are billions of people doing billions of different things, but I feel a little sorry for them at this moment. Because they’re not in my shoes, in Gem’s company.
Franco by Kim Holden
Isn’t that the sweetest?
Very sweet.
I still do not see Bianca.
Under Fighting for Love.
Tessa – swoon!
This made me smile.
A quick lesson.
There are two kinds of people in the world:
1. zombies
2. freaks
Only two. Anyone who tells you different is lying. That person is a lying zombie. Do not listen to zombies. Run for your freaking life.
The impossible knife of memory
By Laurie Halsey Anderson.
That is super cute bev.
hehehe Cute!
Okay, let me just say, Franco by Kim Holden just totally stole my heart. It’s all told from his POV, but darn if the story wasn’t remarkable. The author said this, so it’s not a spoiler. It has an HEA. It was funny, sweet, romantic, a bit emotional, and just happy. The author could have tied in something that would have really hit, but only if you read Bright Side. I’m glad she didn’t because she truly made it a standalone. Bright Side stuff is mentioned, but unless you read the book, nothing overly sad. (I read the book, OMG my heart clenched, but no tears). THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!
I 1-clicked Burn For Me and Cinder & Ella!
Tessa, I never read Brightside. Does it need to be read before Franco. I always loved the cover of Franco!
By the way, Consequences, I’m only halfway thru, but I am not liking Tony, not even a little bit!
Nope. Total standalone. The other characters make an appearance, but no, you don’t have to read Bright Side. I will say, if you can take heartbreak (Which you know I rarely do) read it. It’s one of those that just sticks and is so beautifully written, I actually don’t curse it.
*yes, I curse a LOT of the ones that make me cry*
Yeah, so far, hate Tony team. Still an awesome story in a really messed up kind of way. lol
Hey, Maryse? What early book are you reading?
Who is Franco? I read Brightside and Gus but it’s not ringing a bell…
Dirty Little Secret sounds like all kinds of tummy-twistin’ fun…click!!
Random vent…a coworker had a pickle and egg salad sandwich and it reeked and now it’s all I can smell around here. Gotta love smelly food. *snort*
That is so funny Jean! The cover of Franco is what turned me away! As much as I hate seeing bare torsos, I hate seeing faces more.
He was the drummer. Remember when they went to get tattoos, and he had to get it on his wrist because his body was already covered in tattoos and it was the only place he could still see it that wasn’t covered.
Franco–one click. I need to stop with the one clicks, it really makes me super squirrel.
Hey, R what are you going to do at RT? What panels and such?
Amy I just bought pickles. Love pickles. But egg salad is just gross.
Well, I will click. It’s KU so have to read one first.
I loved Heat Wave. I read Tempting the Boss today by Natasha Madison and it had me laughing so hard! I haven’t read Brightside yet, but I have the audiobook so I’m going to listen to it one day while I’m at work.
bev, I love that you 1-clicked Franco!! Now I have to! I really, really do want to read Brightside and Gus eventually……
Tony…..grrrrrrrrrrr……pissing me off!
*Tempt the Boss (Not Tempting the Boss).
I always think of this.

bev, sex class!! It’s an emotion in sex writing class. My absolute least favorite thing to write so I’m hoping it triggers something. Also for writing: sensual tension and character voice. I’m also taking a few on self-pub vs. small house publishing, editing prep, and marketing. Not much, just enough to fill every last second LOL. In my spare time, I’ll fangirl 😀
I need to vent too……someone at my work today heard me talking to my girlfriend about a book (of course) and he says something snarky like “oh you guys talking about your smut books again”. I WAS OFFENDED! I was adamant that not all my books are smut, but he just laughed. FU Dude!! I read a wide range of genres and why do I feel like I have to get defensive when someone acts like that…..*vent over*. I know you guys will understand.
Jean I would have responded, “yes, my smut books are much more entertaining than your porn”.
I wonder what he reads.
Haha Fabi! I needed that laugh!
bev, he probably reads “…..For Dummies” books! Lol!
Or you could of been all, You want to know what I’ve learned from reading?
And then gone all dark read death club on his a$$.
LMAO bev! You guys make me feel so much better all the time!
Two other blogs I read are having get togethers. They are on the RT agenda. They look fun, but I’m a dork. I’d be too shy for the parties but would love to listen to the panels, lol.
Plus, I hear the swag is insane. Like you might have to FedEx books home.
You should see all the books I’m taking! I plan to go naked just to fit them in my suitcase. I blame Suanne. Her books are huge!
I’m going by myself, but I’ll know people there so I won’t be alone, at least not the whole time. Tuesday and Wednesday I will be, but not after that.
“yes, my smut books are much more entertaining than your porn”.
LOL!!!!!!!!
R, thinking about it I’d probably go and then be tempted to skip and play tourist around the host city.
I probably won’t see any of it, except the chocolate bakery I found next door. 😀
He probably reads *the picture magazines for the articles inside* RME.
Okay, my reading game plan for the immediate future:
The Opposite of You (I WILL read and finish it this weekend)
Bared to You (for my April challenge read)
The Sky is Everywhere (for my 2015-click read)
Figure Eight (for my pick-for-me read)
Bev, I can’t imagine you as a shy person!!
I need to read Lick and The Sweet Gum Tree for my April challenges, but I just got The Martian in the mail today and now I have so many book problems somebody help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jean, non-romance readers suck and don’t get to comment on our books!!!
That guy could probably learn a thing or two from our “smut”.
Robin, are all of them part of an April challenge? I’d read the April challenges first.
Ashley–the Brightside audiobook is FABULOUS!!
Jean–YES! You need to read Brightside and Gus! They’re both SO good! I lurved Gus so much that it was one of my top 3 reads for 2015. I still need to read Franco. Glad to hear it’s great!
Yes Leslie. And considering how slow I read, I will, but THE MARTIAN! It’s soooooo pretty. And the first line…Gah!
Jandy Nelson ‘ s The Sky is Everywhere?
Yay, John Lennon.
Leslie, I’m terribly shy. I’ve gotten better (but then what is wrong with shy) with age. I know I’m a total chatty Cathy here, but not in real life.
R, finally read the Martian not long ago. It was really fun.
I’m flying through the impossible knife of memory.
It is really good. It’s giving me a slight JR feel, maybe it’s the heroine.
I think it’s awesome that you all have mini-book schedules now. 🙂
*evil laugh* mission accomplished
bev, you read The Martian?
The never know what you read. Hint: rate, review, repeat
Hi everyone! I just finished the Gang Bang by Jade Weat and while I wasn’t sure where this one was going, with such a crazy beginning, I really enjoyed it. I loved the little girl with all her “garage talk”.
I’m in the middle of “Reclaiming the Sand” by A. Meredith Walters that came out in 2014. What a excruciating beautiful story. So many feels.
I just clicked Cinder and Ella and I am looking forward to this one.
Happy Friday everyone!
Hi Northernstar. 🙂 Is this your first time commenting. If so, WELCOME. If not, sorry I missed you before, but welcome now. 🙂
Hi everyone!!!!
Guess what? My sister is here!!! 😀 Only for the week though… 🙁 But YAY!!! My sister is here.
:D!!!
Yay, Maryse! Hope y’all have loads of fun!!!
Thank you Nay!!!
She’s also my real-life reading buddy and she’s devouring the Hugh Howey Wool Omnibus as we speak. 😀
I wanna read it. I know I have the first one, but it’s possible I one-clicked the whole bundle, too… I hope.
Have fun, Maryse.
Stay away from the sharks.
Yay Maryse! Have so much fun!
My plan for the immediate future. Go to this wedding today, come home and back to bed, stay here until the 18th. Every part of me hurts.
Why does it hurt Grey?
I fell down the stairs yesterday morning 🙁 if possible, it hurts more today, than it did yesterday. And it hurt a lot yesterday, LOL!
OMG Grey!!!!!!!!!
I’m so sorry. You’re overstressed muscles and tendons and you’re probably bruised. Did you have to get checked out? Will you be going?
Yeah Maryse. Sister time!
OMG Hugh Howey’s Wool Omnibus is a huge favorite of mine.
Grey–the 2nd day always hurts worse than the first! Feel better!
Diving into Hickey today. Just read Royally Screwed by Emma Chase and Nicole Snow’s Baby Fever Promise. Loved both. thanks for new one clicks!
*hugs Grey gently* It hurts worse today? That sucks. When you get home, take a nice, hot bath (or if not bath, at least shower ) to loosen those muscles and help heal.
So, I’m reading a very odd series called Seraph Black by Jane Washington. It makes no sense why I’m continuing, but the story is good. However, the beginning of the first book was so slow, I almost DNF’d it. Now, it gets all confusing in the second book, yet I can’t seem to stop reading it.
*crickets*
Thats funny Tessa, hopefully the book holds your interest now that so far into series.
Tessa, I just put a book down after the first 50 pages. It was really good too, but I think an offshoot of a series and the beginning of another. Usually starting at that point doesn’t bother me but it’s due back and it didn’t fit my mood. So I was just like I’ll let it go for now.
Alright, I’m on a walk so let’s talk though you are all probably busy.
Any new or newish to you books on your tbr and why?
I just added The Martian 🙂 Well I added it a week ago but I just got it in the mail yesterday!
Definitions of indefinable things by Whitney Taylor was on a blogs tbr list. I read the synopsis and still not sure how it’s going to go, but I wanted it.
Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer. I saw a review and had some key words for me. Like letter writing.
The Sun is Also a Star because the reviews and that cover. That cover is gorgeous.
Hunting Ground and Fair Game by Patricia Briggs. I recently re read the First book and book .5. Why did I not continue on? They are awesome. And more Bran. Bran. (I love Bran. Seriously. And any delving into his and Mercy ‘ s relationship. I hope mentions of her pop up.)
A blog post had their fave of the months and a couple were KU starting with Breath of Malice by Karen Fenech. Romantic suspense is not my usual, but why not?
Almost Heaven. Because sale, I loved these books and haven’t read then in over a decade.
Little Tea Shop of Horror by Jane Lovering. I have no idea.
R, I love that you have 1 and I could keep going.
And Fabi I did rate the Martian on GR when I read it.
I did stop myself today though. My new question to myself is am I going to read it right now?
Are you having as hard a time as me picturing R reading that one?
Ha! I wasn’t sure how the game worked! I added Effortless yesterday because I’m thinking of giving Thoughtless one more try. And I added The Opposite of You, but I have a feeling that one isn’t for me. Before that it was Emma Scott’s Sugar & Gold and Jeannine Colette’s Wrecked, both of which I’m beta’ing now. S&G just a little at a time. Unless one of my favorite authors releases something, I don’t really add to my TBR much.
Fabi, just the first line makes me want to drop everything and dive in. I think I’m going to surprise you!
That would be great. Maryse certainly surprised me.
I posted a pick on FB yesterday of my pretty ORIGINAL cover and Suanne commented with “best first line ever” so I couldn’t wait. I had to look, and then I struggled to put it down after! And Stephan keeps going on and on about the movie. I’m like, “stop telling me stuff!” And he says, “just one more thing!”
Oh bummer. He’s already seen the movie. 🙁
As always, the movie is not nearly as good as the book.
I took medicine when I got home from the reception because I was hurting so bad… And slept for 3.5 hours. Pretty sure I will be awake all night now.
Lol, Fabi just found my “review”.
It was fun, so I think she might.
I like that many of us are open to books outside the romance genre. And that many of us read across the genres of romance.
Off topic but can I just say how much I loved Don Rickles. He had a long life, but still made me sad. I can remember watching him on late night shows with my mom as a child.
It’s OK Fabi. When I said he bends back the cover until it splits the binding, I don’t think I drew a good enough picture. The whole book will come back to me all jacked up like he got in a tug of war with a pit bull. He’s not coming NEAR my book.
Grey I’ll be up beta reading! Buddy beta?
Aww, Grey. 🙁 I’m surprised you made it through the wedding without meds.
LOL bev…one of the reasons I picked it up is because Maryse fell in love with him, so it kind of is a romance. I’m, I mean his h, is just sitting at home waiting for him to come back to me…er…her.
I think im going to save The Opposite of You for my bday read. Even those who didn’t love it, liked it. Good solid read with a slow burn sounds good.
I hate that Amazon automatically updates old covers with the new ones. It’s probably because I have it set to auto-update my books when they’ve been re-edited or re-leased. But I wish they had the option to turn off auto-update for covers.
R. You’re not talking about The Martian are you? There’s no h in that book.
I can see why. He is super smart, funny, and easy going.
On a blog, SBTB, they talk about competence porn, lol. That’s when the hero or the heroine is shown in the book to be competent in there career or a facet of their life and how sexy and satisfying that can be for the reader.
The Martian fits that a 100%.
Fabi…I’M the h in that book 😉
Fabi she is the h. *snort*
She is just going to pretend she is the one at home waiting, thinking yes that’s my man.
😆
Just finished The Banker- pleasantly surprised. Couldn’t put it down (ruined my productive morning I had planned!). Was in such a book lull. I’m all about light reads and funny. This one was good without having OTT drama (still drama…but believable). Two thumbs up from this happy camper.
Alright you goofballs.
bev, when are you going to read Dark Matter? Don’t tell me you already read it too and I missed it?
I’m about to start Amy Lane’s new one. Wish me luck. Better yet, loan me that heart armor.
You got this Fabi!!
Oh no, I took meds before I went to the wedding. I think the sleepiness kicked in afterward. 😆 so funny story…
We were at the wedding reception. This older lady sitting next to me… Did u ever see the episode of Seinfeld with the close talker? Well I lived it. She leaned over and says, your daughter is just beautiful and so are you… I was all, uh. Thank you… At the same time thinking back up out of my personal space. I’m not kidding, I could feel her breathing on me. :O Then no lie… She leans to the person on the other side of her and rips a fart. Sometimes I feel like I’m on that show Punked and I feel like Ashton Kutcher is gonna jump out of a closet at me.
Oh my god Grey. That really happened?!
Yep. I couldn’t make this up. And of course, my husband is sitting across the table, dying laughing at me. The jerk.
That’s insane! I thought it only happened in sitcoms.
I can’t wait to be a little old lady so I can do whatever I want and say f social etiquette… *shut up Ela* 😆
I’ll be honest I wondered if I was a little disoriented because of my medicine and maybe she wasn’t quite as close as I thought she was…but then I look across the table and my husband is shaking, he is laughing so hard and when we are coming home he says, I thought that woman was gonna lay one on you. I said, so she really was that close? thanks for the rescue.
Oh, man close talkers. When you back up a step and then they take two steps closer. It is odd.
Bwahahaha, Grey! That is HI-LA-RI-OUS!! Classic Seinfeld episode that ranks up there with the puffy shirt! lol
Well, my meds have been giving me insomnia in the middle of the night, so, of course, I came here!
R–I would think that you’d really enjoy The Opposite of You. It has some major swoonage!
bev–I’ve added a bunch to my TBR the past few days, but that number’s so high partly because I have a disease and partly because I finally went through the Marmy list and added the ones I haven’t read yet like Hausfrau, Butterfly Weeds, After, and The Turning Point. And although I decided months ago that I was OVER biker and rock star romances, lately, I’ve felt the need to read some of them and added two that have majorly good reviews: ‘Just an Illusion: Side A’ by D. Kelly and one that Paula found that I’m reading right now: ‘Tangled Up in You’ by Lara Ward Cosio. Also added one that’s supposed to be gut-wrenching (Grey 5-starred it): ‘Eminent Love’ by Leddy Harper.
Grey, OMG that is hilarious! Nothing is funnier than Seinfeld. BEST. SHOW. EVER. But, when you experience it yourself in RL, it’s just plain weird. Close talkers?! *shutters*
Bev, you would be Jerry in the episode where everybody in building starts kissing each other hello and Jerry freaks out!
*giggles picturing Bev in apt in NYC where all residents try to hug & kiss her*
Recent adds to TBR?? I’ve been adding my book buds 5 stars for book buddy challenge. However, GR has had a gremlin on the loose and several random books have appeared that I didnt put there!! *cues Twilight Zone theme* Creepy!
I’m finally reading Thoughtless and why is the heroine so PASSIVE?
I don’t get it. At all. It is such a weird choice for the author to make.
Kellan too. All he does is smile, laugh, and likes to cuddle. Seriously, Denny could just get her a puppy. Or better she could make the decision and get one her self–problem solved.
You Thoughtless lovers, have any of you re read it recently? They do not talk. At all. How am I supposed to feel any tension or know these people?
It’s weird.
Nay, I have it. I plan on reading it at some point out of sheer curiosity, I just wonder about the slow burn thing. Though, as Leslie pointed out yesterday on GR, my list of deal breakers is actually crap and I’ll pretty much love anything that’s well written/constructed.
And then I read the rest of your post and squealed when you said “Butterfly Weeds” because of course that’s not what you meant, but then I looked and ok…there really is a book called Butterfly Weeds. 🙁
Butterfly Weeds was huge on here a few years ago. Another one I haven’t read.
Bev, I haven’t read Thoughtless recently but I have read Thoughful (Kellans POV) & Griffins story which writing was cool for me. When I orginally read Thoughtless trilogy, I had no issues with anything….loved every tummy twisting second of the story.
However, when I tried reading Its All Relative by this same author the writing style was so off I dnf’d it.
R., I dont think anything to do with you is crap!! You are a big ole bowl of awesomesauce!!!
I was pointing out that I was wrong on what I thought you liked. I pictured you as a strickly adults only, romance only, angsty, non alpha male, type books! Good for you for not being a picky pain in the neck reader like me!!!
Leslie! That’s exactly how I would have described R’s reading tastes. But then she goes off and reads, M/M, Horror, YA, NA, Erotica and soon, Sci-Fi.
WTH R? Just keeping us on our toes? LOL!
Robin–I’m also going to read The Butterfly Project–it’s on my Leslie’s book buddy challenge list!
Maryse–over at GR, we’re talking about SoT and wondering whatever happened to Katja Millay. And actually, the last info I can find is your author ‘Where are they now’ post from April of 2015. Have you heard anything about her since then?? She seems to have disappeared from the Internet.
It is just so much tell and no show.
I think, for me that is the biggest disappointment so far, the writing. I expected that I may not like the heroine and the story may twist me up, but I guess I was expecting it to be really well written.
I am not sure if K & K have even had a conversation of more than 3 or 4 exchanges. I’m just told we sat down and talked and laughed. He asked me all about my classes.
End scene.
I don’t know, it’s just really weird.
I’m also curious if the author is even into music?
I still have do not know what the band or Kellan “sound” like.
And then Bumbershoot. I was all ready for that to be a really cool descriptive experience. …and no. I just know that she likes to hold Kellan ‘ s hand.
Awwwww, Butterfly Weeds!! It’s been a while since I read it, but I remember just LOVING the sweetness of it.
And the epilogue…so bittersweet. But more sweet than bitter so it’s okay. 😉
One of these days I WILL make it to Bumpershoot. It’s only like an hour away so I have no excuse not to…
I want to thank you for your high praise for The Opposite of You. It was fantastic. I loved it. Great story. Could not put it down. Also LOVED The Chosen. 500 plus pages flew by. On vacation a few weeks ago I read The Sex Education of M.E. by L.B. Dunbar. It was such a great story with characters you want to live next to. It was Fabulous with a capital F. The characters stay with you. Loved it. Thank you again for all your great recommendations.
Okee, after going to the library, I have one I can add to my TBR. (The cover grabbed me) Two books by the same author. The author is Cinda Williams Chima. The books are The Demon King (A Seven Realms Novel) and The Warrior Heir (An Heir Chronicles Novel).
Tessa!!! Those are so good!!!!! I have them in my HB collection. I think there’s at least 3 books though.
I don’t think I’ve added a lot to my tbr recently. I seem to be reading the ones I buy. (yeah me!). In fact, I’ve noticed my tbr shrinking. Only a teeny tiny bit, but it’s unusual enough that it caught my eye. It’s officially under 1500!Now and seems to be crawling down one book at a time.
I grabbed the first of each just to see if I like them. What’s an HB collection? Also, congrats on getting the TBR down some. 😀 The goal is achievable!
Just catching up on all of the bazillion comments. Grey your wedding reception experience was hilarious. Last week I was visiting an exhibition from/about the palace of Versailles (no I wasn’t in France, just at our national gallery in Canberra, Australia). It was a beautiful exhibition and I was standing admiring a chair that once stood in Madame Pompadour’s private rooms, daydreaming of sexy frenchmen and their mistresses, when…….
An older man with a checked shirt neatly tucked into pressed slacks pulled up rather high (you know the look) walked rudely between me and the gorgeous chair and (you guessed it) ripped out a loud fart. He just kept right on walking….. I didn’t know whether to crack out laughing or to feel sorry for the guy, who probably didn’t mean to LOL. But yeah…….. spoiled the moment just a tad.
I am SO glad I didn’t fully immerse myself in The Opposite of You until I had a whole weekend to do so…I am lovin’ the heck out of it!!! 😀
Grey! Did you have fun at the wedding in spite of feeling banged up? Did the bruises show with your dress? And being on painkillers and having a lady rip one right next to you…I have NO idea how you didn’t lose your sh!t. I would have lost mine. *snort*
OMG Jan…I would have lost it in that case, too!!!
Yes, my inner junior high schooler comes out with that stuff as well. 😛
Suze, Thanks for reminding me of The Sex Education of M.E. I’ve got to bump that one up the TBR.
Jan, ewwwwwwh!
Suze, thank you. I haven’t heard of L.B.Dunbar but I’m going to check that book out.
Tessa, HB is hardback. I have a small collection of leatherbound and hardback books.
Bumbershoot would be awesome.
So would a puppy.
But it would have to be a beard-less puppy.
Because I REALLY hate beards.
I would totally take a beard right now.
It would at least give them something to talk about.
I’m with Amy.
*high-five* friend
This book is making me all, GRRR.
Yet I keep reading it.
So I had a dream about the close talker today during my medication induced slumber… It included you guys (or my mental imagery of what you all look like). It was bizarre AF. We were in a sitting in a coffee shoppe ordering peanuts, don’t know why… And the close talker was our waitress. bev said we should probably leave and go to a different shoppe on Jellicoe Road because Simon works there and Robin said no because we were waiting for Maryse to get there so we could get pink sparkly peanuts and this is the only shoppe that sells them. Ela said we could possibly wait for Maryse forever because shes the worst buddy peanutter on the planet. And close talker got all up in our business and Amy says excuse me, did you just fart? Then I woke up… Drugs are bad, mmmkay?!
LOL Grey!!! You’re a writer even in your dreams.
I want it to go on record that I WAS THE ONE waiting for Maryse.
bev, that happened with me too. It was a train wreck, but I couldn’t look away. I got angry enough in one scene I almost DNF’d but I hung in there because it was late in the book. As frustrated as I was, I really struggled to put it down.
Amy, nope I didn’t wear my pretty sleeveless dress that I was going to, I was too self conscious 🙁 I wore black leggings and a longsleeved sweater dress instead.
bev, I remember feeling that way too when I was reading it… I think that’s probably why I never got further than the first book.
I don’t know about all that, Fabi. We were in a *coffee* shop… Buying *peanuts* it was so damn weird!
I like that even in your dreams I want to go to the books, lol.
Yes. A train wreck.
It’s just a weird weird book.
I’m scared of that waitress, Grey. She’s going to appear in my nightmares, I just know it.
OMG Grey, I’m dying. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has crazy dreams involving y’all (or at least how I picture y’all) that just seem SO REAL at the time of the dream. LOL!!
