<— I’m making this one (The Bourbon Thief) “King of the Friday List” today ’cause I keep hearing how absolutely amazing it is!!! And since Jan is in a book funk right now,
Jan: “Darn it! I need another new, good book STAT! … Just something well-written and romantic. Suggestions welcome”
I figured maybe THIS one would pull her out of it. 😉
Plus, my friend Natasha even chose it as her favorite book to giveaway in that recent “Kindle” giveaway where a bunch of us loaded it with our absolute latest favorites this year! And then Monique goes and tell me “This brings new meaning to a book hangover!” <— What what whaaaaaaat??! So now I just gotta know what it is that has so many 5-starring it. I LOVE tried-and-true five star books!
Cheryl: OMG Maryse, I just commented on another post about The Bourbon Thief and having it in my tbr but couldn’t remember who rec’d it and said it was a 5* read. Guess it’s meant for me to read it!! 😉
Jean: Cheryl, I’m having problems deciding on my next read too. The Bourbon Thief was loved by Ela and Grey!
Maryse: YAY!!!! Oh… darnit. I already told bev I’m reading her recommendation. Well… that’s okay. It’s what I’m in the mood for, anyway (office hate – and maybe romance? *waggles eyebrows*). But then this one next!!! 😀
P.S. Hang on to your hats for next Monday & Tuesday’s releases. Kristen Ashley and Jamie McGuire and Kresley Cole just to name a few. I posted those below, too.
And look what else we found! (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):
Born Sinner (Se7en Sinners Book 1) by S.L. Jennings <— LIVE!!! S.L. JENNINGS PARANORMAL ROMANCE ALERT! He’s there to rid the world of her, to save humanity, and kidnaps her… “I was bred for one purpose and one purpose only: to unleash death and destruction on my world. My thoughts are power. My words are weapons. Evil created me then grace tried to save me. But first… they tried to kill me. They call themselves the Se7en. They are sin and salvation, and everything we’ve feared from the beginning of time. And their leader is the deadliest of them all…“
- Recon (The Fringe Book 1) by Tarah Benner <— DYSTOPIAN/SCI-FI WITH ROMANCE & Fabi went CRAZY for it!
Fabi: “I just finished reading a sci-fi called Recon by Sarah Benner that I FLOVED. It’s a dystopian sci-fi with a little splash of romance. I was glued to that story. When it ended I couldn’t click and download book 2 fast enough. It’s so good! I’ve been meaning to read Recon for so long. *shakes head* There are amazing gems buried in my tbr.”
The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz <— 5-STAR LOVE FOR THIS ONE ALERT!! A few of my friends have 5-star LOVED this author’s latest release and Monique HIGHLY recommends it too!
Monique: “Maryse, I just finished reading The bourbon thief by Tiffany Reisz, and I’m lost for words. My words couldn’t do this book justice so you need to read it. This book unexpectedly intoxicated me and was an absolute top shelf read, you will want to savior every sip…I mean page! This brings new meaning to a book hangover!”
- Something So Right by Natasha Madison <— HOCKEY STAR & SINGLE MOM BACK ON THE LIST ’cause Taylor read it from last Friday’s list and LOVED it!
Taylor: “Omg!! Thanks to your recs i read Something So Right by N. Madison it was amazing!! Do you know if or when she is planning to release another book? Maybe a spinoff? Thank you really this book blew my mind”
Lori: “I hope y’all get a chance to pick this one up. I L O V E D it. It’s fun and sweet and definitely Hot.”
Dirty English by Ilsa Madden-Mills <— CAMPUS BAD-BOY STREET FIGHTER ALERT! Oh wow… this kind of sounds like one of my favorites. Could it be a “What to Read After…” book? 😀 He’s her new neighbor… “A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.” On super-bargain today!
Lisa: Dirty English was great.
Tessa: I loved Dirty English. It was just fun and made me happy reading it.
Emily: I just finished Dirty English and highly recommend it. I know this gets tossed around a lot, but it really had a Beautiful Disaster feel to it. I’ve been in a funk with this genre — tired of diluted versions of what initally turned me on to it (BD, Fifty Shades, etc.) — but this one really satisfied.
- The Pub Across the Pond by Mary Carter <— SHE BUYS A RAFFLE TICKET AND WINS!! “At thirty, she’s living a stifling existence in Cleveland, Ohio. Then one day, Carlene buys a raffle ticket. The prize: a pub on the west coast of Ireland. Carlene is stunned when she wins. Everyone else is stunned when she actually goes…” It’s on sale today and it sounds SO FUN!!
The Summer Games: Settling the Score by R.S. Grey <— OLYMPIC STAR ALERT! Nancy found us this super bargain!!!
Grace: Summer, Summer, Summer Games!!!!! *dances out the room singing*
Jan130: Yeah Grace. I enjoyed Scoring Wilder and The Summer Games as well. Both sweet reads, even for those who aren’t usually into sports romance. Oh yeah, Freddie is HOT!!
Lisa: I read The Summer Games by R S Grey based on this list. I really liked it!
- The Summer Games: Out of Bounds by R.S. Grey <— RECENTLY RELEASED OLYMPIC STAR ALERT! Nancy found us this one super-bargain priced today, too!
Anna: Just finished Summer Games: Out of Bounds by R.S. Grey. I loved it! Great sexual tension between the characters. Mild taboo with him being her coach. I immediately went back and got the first Summer Games book (Settling the Score) because I want more Olympic hotness to amp me up for the real Rio Olympics. This author writes sexy sporty in way I can’t get enough of.
- Against the Ropes (Redemption Book 1) by Sarah Castille <— MMA FIGHTER ALERT AND I LOVED IT!! Plus, Laura found us this one on sale today!! (here’s my review)
The Hating Game: A Novel by Sally Thorne <— COLLEAGUES THAT ABSOLUTELY HATE EACH OTHER ALERT! “…they have no problem displaying their feelings through a series of ritualistic passive aggressive maneuvers as they sit across from each other, executive assistants to co-CEOs of a publishing company. Lucy can’t understand Joshua’s joyless, uptight, meticulous approach to his job. Joshua is clearly baffled by Lucy’s overly bright clothes, quirkiness, and Pollyanna attitude…” bev is reading THIS recent release and is enjoying it!
bev: The heroine in the Hating Game is only 5ft, so making me think of all you short ladies on here. It’s very much a part of her character and identity…. Maryse, I’m not done yet, but I need to throw a The Hating Game peanut at you. *open hand and drops a handful on top of Maryse ‘ s head” I can do that cause your so short.
Maryse: Hey I’m a short lady! 5′ exactly! And… HA. HA. bev. *snort* Is it really good bev? I’m intrigued…
bev: I seriously enjoyed The Hating Game, yet expensive.
Tasha: I placed a hold on The Hating Game at my library, only 15 ppl ahead of me, must be a popular one
.
Maryse: Okay that’s it!!! I’m starting it today. TOTALLY in the mood for this and I need a slight break from my heart-ripper that I’m reading right now that is also making me have nightmares. But it’s good… I just need something lighter like this. PERFECT! LOL!!!!
- Monday (Timeless Series #1) by E.L. TODD <— UNREQUITED LOVE ALERT! “Our eyes lock and an unspoken conversation is exchanged. For the first time in my life, I actually feel something. But he doesn’t. He keeps me at arm’s length and pretends there’s nothing between us…” (it’s super-bargain priced today)
- Abandoned In Search Of Rainbows by A. K. Driggs <— AUTOBIOGRAPHY ALERT! Heather recommends this one!
Heather: “I am reading a great autobiography/memoir about a beautiful story called Abandoned In Search of Rainbows by AK Driggs. I needed some inspiration and happiness in my life, I think we all do. Her story from birth makes my problems seem small and that’s ok with me!”
- One by Jewel E. Ann <— JEWEL E ANN ALERT! Recent release and it’s back on the list ’cause now, Linda LOVED it, too!
“Just finished One by Jewel E Ann and once again a masterpiece read!!! Loooved it sooooo hard!!!! Highly recommend reading the Jack and Jill series first to get the full back story.”
Thicker than Blood by Madeline Sheehan & Claire C Riley <— DYSTOPIAN FAVORITE ALERT! Many of our fellow readers bring this one back to the forefront ’cause they loved it so. Or it messed ’em up. 😉 LOL! “Leisel and Evelyn are able to escape their shattered sanctuary only to find themselves face-to-face with a much altered, much crueler life where they have to find the way—and the will—to stay alive in a world they no longer recognize…”
Tasha: I loved Thicker Than Blood, ending and all. One of my favorite dystopian reads. I also read Beneath Blood and Bone (Thicker than Blood Book 2) and there’s this part in it that I still have a question about and drives me crazy, though it’s a spoiler.
Jean: Yoohoo Amy, did you hear me cursing you all the way over there on the west coast? Yeah, Thicker Than Blood…..why do you do that to me? The ending killed me!
Amy: Oh geez, Jean…I missed it when you finished TTB!! Was I right about the ending? I swear, I SO wasn’t expecting all of that. It was one of those “What? WHAT??” endings. I’m still not sure about reading the second book 😕 Tasha, I didn’t know there would be a third book (I still have yet to read the second though…I’m just not sure I can read about HIM)
- Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone Book 1) by Laini Taylor <— FANTASY ROMANCE ALERT! Young recommends it too!
Young: “Hi guys! I just finished a fantastic book and wanted to recommend anyone who’s in book funk. It is called Daughter of smoke and bone by Leni Taylor. I think someone here (maybe Bev?) recommended before. It is labeled as YA/fantasy but I didn’t feel it too YA.”
- Fear University by Meg Collett <— PARANORMAL/SHE CAN’T FEEL PAIN ALERT! “…they kidnap me and take me to Fear University, a school where young students learn to hunt and kill aswangs. I arrive at the university a prisoner, but I stay because I finally find my freedom. For once in my life, I belong. I’m needed…” and Tracie & Lori recommend this one BIG time!
Trace: “Hey Maryse! Lori and I just read this series over the weekend and we loved it! Not sure if you’ve heard of it, so far it’s 3 books with more to come. Romance, PNR, tons of suspense and great writing. Fear University by Meg Collett.”
Harry Potter Black Cauldron Ceramic Soup Mug with Spoon <— OMG I LOVE IT!!!! Okay… I just fell in LOVE with this set that I saw scrolling down my Facebook feed, and while it may not be a book set, it sure as heck is book related and CRAZY awesome. Take a look!
Stephanie: Ummm… hi i must own this!
Jennifer: Ohhh my GOD !!!!!!!! Take my money
Renee: Oh, I love that!!
Stephanie: OMG! How do I not already have this?
- Harry Potter Ceramic Cauldron Mug <— It’s the matching coffee or tea (or other stuff 😉 ) MUG!!!
Harry Potter Hedwig Ceramic Mug <— AND THIS mug!!! IT’S SO CUTE!!!!!!!
- Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys <— END OF WWII & SURVIVORS ARE BOARDING A SHIP TO FREEDOM ALERT! “Just when it seems freedom is within their grasp, tragedy strikes. Not country, nor culture, nor status matter as all ten thousand people—adults and children alike—aboard must fight for the same thing: survival…” Tasha LOVES this one!
Tasha: “So I finally decided what to read and went ahead and finished Salt to the Sea. Highly, highly recommend! …it was a great book and once I got in the rythm of it, I was enthralled. It’s told from 4 different narratives, Florian, Emilia, Joana, and Alfred. And in the audio book, 4 different voices, which I thought was cool. Set in the WWII era, there’s heartbreak, tragedy, a bit of romance, secrets, and friendships. My only complaint was it was a bit of an abrupt ending. Though you get closure, I would have liked to see a little more of how they got there.”

OMG Maryse, I just commented on another post about The Bourbon Thief and having it in my tbr but couldn’t remember who rec’d it and said it was a 5* read. Guess it’s meant for me to read it!!;)
I’ve had Dirty English on my wish list ever since UK Bev read and five starred it probably like a year ago. Dang it! I’m one-clicking it NOW and putting it in my NEXT NO EXCUSES list. *rant over* thanks for listening captive audience
Just saw this on GR – so true
Symptoms of a book hangover:

Maryse, what book did Bev recommend?
Jean, what do you think, want to BR The Bourbon Thief? I read the sample, and it was good just didn’t grab my interest. Hmmm, I guess it’s more mystery than contemporary romance?? Such a departure from the author’s Original Sinner’s series. I’m still toying with reading something lighthearted after reading It End With Us and Swear On This Life.
The Hating Game! !!
Fabi, I totally 1-clicked Dirty English too!
Bev, I really want to read The Hating Game, but that price!
Cheryl, I would BR The Bourbon Thief with you but I already started something that’s going to take a long time for me to finish……..wait for it……
I started Last Hour of Gann and I’m HOOKED! Surprise, surprise girls!
wow Jean, that’s awesome. I waited forever to read LHoG and when I finally did I was blown away.
We may end up reading Dirty English at the same time because I think I have like 4-5 books going at the same time right now. Weird, I know.
OK Jean, if you’re going to read sci-fi I have to recommend Sherrilyn Kenyon’s The League series. Those guys are brooooooken. Right Tessa? I mean, goodness gracious, those poor men. But they are so strong!
Magic word there…..broken! They need me! Lol. I’ll check that series out. I’m loving LHoG and only at like 3%!
Same with her Dark Hunter series. Heck, that’s a per-requisite for being a dark hunter. Literally.
I loved Dirty English. I loved Filthy English even more. 🙂
96% of TLHoG. That is all.
Ah Tessa I’m jealous being only at 3% and feeling like I’ve been reading for hours…..but you guys were right, really worth it so far and just the changeup I needed!
I promise to check out the Dark Hunter series! I love that you guys get me to try new genres!
Dirty English next (BR with Fabi hopefully)!
Tessa. How long did it take you to read LHoG?
Oops….went to 1-click Dirty English & realized I had already bought it in October.
Tessa already at 96%. You are a reading beast. RAWR lol 🙂 It took me 5 days to read that book.
Jean that’s ok because I just wasn’t connecting with The Bourbon Thief right now, probably because my brain needs a break from the heavy reads. I started Lady and The Champ. A lighthearted no-brainer read.
Last Hour of Gann, huh. Intriguing blurb. It’s a standalone, right?
Maybe it will work out to BR Dirty English together.
OK Cheryl, sounds good. LHOG is soooooo good and I’m only at 5%. It’s long, over 1000 pages so it will take me a while.
Whoa, Tessa. That was fast.
A lot of people love the Bourbon Thief.
I read that one reviewer said to go in thinking Soap opera not CR. I was intrigued I love my soaps.
And done.
I’m not sure how to rate it, though. I really loved the story, and words weren’t wasted, despite the size. Amazon demands a rating right away, but I’m thinking still.
Bourbon Thief was a great one! In a way had a Jezebel vibe to it. I would definitely put it up there near the top for this year’s reads. Tiffany Reisz is just a writing goddess…
Holy moly Marina that just makes me wanna read it more!!!
It ‘s finally Friday….Hallujuah!!! I haven’t had lots of time this past week to drop in and say “Hi” ….so *waves ‘Hi’ at everyone*
Sooooo…..I saw where Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s new book was released – Tailored for Trouble. Woohoo! I know what I am reading tonight! I loved Fugly…I have NO doubt that this one will be awesome too! Already the H is the BIGGEST JERK I have read yet! Rude,is not the word for this guy…just saying. Not sure if there is a word for him…and the h…well she is not taking it. Excited for a good read on a Friday night!!!!!!
After that, I think I will be reading The Matchmaker’s Replacement. Light, fun, and different from the other.
I will say, the book is broken up into “books” and I still don’t like book two.
OMG – alot of the Neighbor from Hell books by R.L. Mathewson are 99 cents!
Ok Marina your comment comparing The Bourbon Thief to Jezebel not helping me want to read it. While Jezebel was a great book, it was still one f*cked up book!!
Thank you everyone for the recs on this and the other thread. I finally went with Ellen O’Connell’s Without Words. Didn’t realise I hadn’t read that one of hers. A sweet Western HR. Nice.
I’ve also now got a whole lot more to check out! That one right up there, The Bourbon Thief. Also Laura Florand. Recon. The Hating Game looks great (but pricy and my library hasn’t got it) 🙁 Dirty English. Lovers Lament. Good Time Bad Boy. Oh yeah……
Michelle S, I think I downloaded a sample of Roam, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder 🙂
Good to see the love for Last Hour of Gann is spreading around. Tessa, I am in awe of your reading speed. What the actual hey? *bows down to Tessa*
Fabi, the book hangover image you linked to is hilarious :0 and so true.
BTW I am on Goodreads as Jan130 (my old moniker from this list!) I used to be on there ages ago when it was independent from amazon, but recently rejoined with a new profile. So, happy to friend you guys if you can find me. I started to look for some of you on there. I thought I’d start with an easily identifiable name. Huh! Fabi, do you have any idea how many GR members are named Fabi? (It’s A LOT!)
Awww Jan! You have no friends 🙁
Just sent a req.
Sent, and right? I looked for her too. I was amazed at how many people had that name!
Oh and thanks? lol Speed read for real. Sadly that means, if the book is mediocre, it’s forgotten.
Whew!! T. G. I. F.
First Maryse mentions Author Anonymous has an Arsen feel and then Marina mentions Bourbon Thief has a Jezebel vibe…those are SO on my radar now. 😀
Strawberry and cream martinis for tonight. Very strong ones. I was going to give myself a mani too but…yeah, it’s going to have to wait until I’m not imbibing. 😛
It’s early in the day down here, but a strawberry and cream martini does sound appealing……
Amy, you should do pink and white vertical stripes on your nails, to keep with your theme.
Maryse, T.M. Frazier’s King Series Bundle: The Four Book Set is $5.99 right now!!!! King, Tyrant, Lawless, & Soulless…..
Finished Lola and the Boy Next Store. Not sure yet what’s next.
Ok girls u have got to add 27 truths to the list by M.j Fields!!! So f**king good…
Eminent love by Leddy Harper
These were books that was gut wrenching ..
Jean what in the heck of of a book u girls are talking about 1000 pages? I need names not initials . Ya’ll r killing me
Oh and where is Amy roll call?
I read Dirty English a while ago and really enjoyed it. And like Tessa I think Filthy English was even better….
Jan I sent you a GR friend request.
Bev! That would be sooooo pretty!! Not sure if you were being facetious or not but now I want pink and white striped nails. OOH! Pink and white ombré nails!
I’m here, Milissa!! *tackles her in a sneak-attack huggle* I had my martinis, fell asleep, woke up, and now I’m wide awake. 😀 Guess I’ll be reading and chatting for the next however many hours…
Milissa the 1000 page book is called The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith. Science fiction/romance (what the hey???). Very different, but fantastic, even if sci-fi isn’t usually your thing. Does contain some graphic violence, but it’s completely in context. On the surface, the storyline sounds pretty corny, but you just have to read it to see how fantastic it actually is.
A human space ship crash lands on a far planet. A group of survivors encounters one of the aliens who live on the planet, and he guides them as they seek a way to get back to earth. One of the women and the alien man gradually fall in love with each other during their adventure-packed travels. See? Sounds shocking, but it’s NOT! The alien hero is wonderful, the human heroine is plucky and gutsy, and the book is completely gripping.
Jan, just do what I did and clicked them all on GR. No not really, but some I did. Just finished blurred lines. Really good light read. Fun. Now I have to find another. Always looking for a good one.
Bev was Lola and the boy next door good?
Amy, weird I thought I hit post on a reply to you last night but I don’t see it. I just like stripes and thought it’d look pretty, though ombre would probably be even better.
Melinda, it was pretty good but not my favorite of the 3. I read them out of order so read the last one prior to Lola. Isla I loved so in comparison it just didn’t hold up.
Maryse, did you go meet Lucy or are you out drinking Bourbon?
bev!!! I’m meeting Lucy and loving it! 😀 I love office comedy-romance and office romance-drama books (strangely enough, i don’t read that many of ’em) but this is right up my alley!
I just told my husband I’d start my errands after I finished the chapter I was on in LHOG and then looked and it said 48 minutes till end of chapter….gulp…I don’t want to put this book down!
Jan, I sent you a friend request on GR!
Lol. Right, Jean? It’s so long and so very dark and yet you don’t want to leave the world.
I read Cottonwood not long after but then needed a break. There is another one of hers that’d I’d like to read.
I think Maryse would enjoy it too.
bev, I haven’t read Cottonwood. Only Heat and LGoG. Which one did you like better?
Gaan, though I enjoyed Cottonwood. The set up was a lot like District 9.
I mixed up Bourbon Thief with Bourbon Kings, that being the one like a soap.
Maryse hasn’t read this yet?!?!?
I have a stupid wedding today so won’t get to read much and the heat index here is 108!!! Ugh!
🙂 I finished Matchmaker’s Replacement last night. Perfect for after TLHoG. I was giggling and smiling the whole way through. It’s a standalone and features two secondary characters from The Matchmaker’s Playbook. For a happy, fun read, I’d recommend both.
Jan I sent you a friend’s request on GR.
LHOG is a standalone, right. I’m *almost* tempted to read it.
Finishing Lady and The Champ- lighthearted, funny read. Then, don’t know maybe The Bourbon Thief, maybe TLHOG????
Uh-oh, now I’m questioning the Bourbon Thief to Jezebel comparison. It’s just a feeling I had because the formats felt similar in retrospect… but otherwise totally different. It’s a good one! A story you’ll never forget.
Cheryl, The Last Hour of Gaan is a standalone. The Bourbon Thief, idk.
Gah. Invited some of you to take a quiz.
I’m mad at myself. 1 incorrect answer I had right and hen second guessed myself. Another is one of my very FAVORITES—how’d I get that wrong. Though it’s last line is way more famous.
*mad face*
I got 18/22.
Hi everyone! Miss you ladies! Recovery is going well but now my back is in question! Grrrrrrr this never ends! Yes! BOURBON THIEF IS A MUST READ!
*huggles Ela* I’m glad the recovery is good, but what happened to your back?
Bev I got 14/22. I looked at some and thought, I never read that… One I looked at and was thinking, it has a first line? lol
A few I haven’t read either. Never plan on reading A Clockwork Orange.
I feel like my reading has narrowed in the last few years. I used to do random pulls from the fantasy library shelf, the new book club it book, or the buzzy new nonfiction. I have lists of just gen fic and classics I always wanted to get to.
I did try a challenge a couple years ago, but maybe this next year I’ll just pick a book (or two) a month from one of those other piles. Maybe my commute books.
*shrug*
Just something the quiz made me think of.
I wish I read as fast as you, Tessa.
Ela, I hope by this time next year (really before) your health will be 100%.
Physical pain and sickness just suck.
I got almost all the way through and my answers disappeared! But I’m fairly certain I failed!
Doubt it R.
I was too intimidated to take part two, lol.
Right there with you Tessa. I got 14. I probably should start reading more books like the one I’m reading now and less like the one I’m writing.
Yay, I’m glad you like Lucy.
I found her to be fun to hang out with.
Robin, no. Unless your current read makes you as happy. I love romance books.
I just miss some of my other reads. Like I’m totally behind on the Inspector Lynley books and The Dresden Files. I used to love those books.
I think 99.9 % of my reads are romance where it used to be around 97%, lol.
Yeah, second part of that quiz–did not fare well.
I haven’t had time to really start my current read yet because I’ve been too busy packing for Cozumel! But I think I’ll find some time while lying on the beach with a cocktail 🙂
That sounds wonderful, R.
Find the prettiest over decorated coctail.
Ela- *gentle hug*. Back pain ranks right up there with migraines!! Hope you can get a massage and/or PT works on your back too.
Maybe The Bourbon Thief next.
I’ll take pics 🙂
Welcome back, Ela!
*builds special healing blankie fort for Ela… big enough for all of us to snuggle with her, without touching her*
🙂
Down the list….
Jan – I also sent you a friend request on GR.
Ela! Welcome back! *air hugs*
R. …I am just straight jealous. Cozumel…yeah, just straight jealous…but in a happy for you way!
Jean – the heat index is no joke…I can sympathize with you.
LOVED…Tailored for Trouble by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Nothing better than a hot mean ole jerk who is full of mystery ways. LOVED the battle of wills between these two characters. Definitely a fav read!
Hi, new good reads friends. This should be fun! Bev, I did the quiz and only got 17/22 🙁 Grrrrr. Ah well, some were just guesses, after all……
Ela, hope you are feeling better soon. *gives gentle hug*
Bev, I tried the book comparison thinggie with you on GR. 0% similar. Hilarious. (Esp as I often agree with your comments on here). I’m going to try it with other new gr friends. Wheeeee!
Huh, Bev. I think it’s because the books in common we have read, you have listed, but not rated. That’s why the zero. So, not that confusing, after all.
Most of you others – about 65-75% similarity. Nice.
Yes, I think so. I’m 0 with everyone, lol. Just joined and, well, rating is not my favorite thing. I’m waffle, debate, and over think it.
Oooh, so glad to hear Tailored for Trouble was good… bumping that one up the TBR!!
Getting ready to start Banking the Billionaire, hope its good as I just finished Tapping Her and Cassie & Thatch seemed OTT obnoxious.
Thanks ladies! *huggles*. Because of my hip dysplesia, they found my lower back already has arthritis 🙁
Love my new healing blankie fort!
Oh and I’m re-reading Golden Dynasty and rest of series in preparation for KAs release of 5th book to the series !
Ok all my book friends what is this gr that y’all r talking about ? Maryse do you know I love anything book related
Goodreads.com it’s addictive for book lovers!
Goodness. that good reads is addictive. I could stay on there all day sorting my books, writing reviews, checking other people’s favs and playing with the quizzes and lists.
Just watched the first episode of the Americans. It was good.
Anyone watch it?
Why is it so quiet on here tonight? It’s the Cozumel preparty! I made Mai tais!
bev, I watched the first few seasons and loved it. I stopped watching everything when I started writing though so I’m way behind!
R, do you leave tomorrow?
Have fun!
It keeps getting quieter & quieter around here.
We leave the house at 6am. Fly out at 9. So excited because I’m going with my writer friend Erica Lynn so I get to talk about books for 4 days!! Husbands be damned.
I’ve just been reading. 🙂 Melody Bittersweet and The Girls’ Ghostbusting Agency was awesome. It is just the humorous, sexy pnr I love. The mystery wasn’t hard to figure out, but honestly, the story and getting the reveal was too entertaining to care.
Then I tried Devoted by SJ West. Caylin’s story number two and decided NO MORE. She’s too perfect. That said, I’m skipping to the last series.
That GR is really addictive. But jean you and I are like 78% alike in our reading and so were a few others but Jean was the highest. And tomorrow is Maryses birthday so Happy Birthday Maryse. From Australia maybe a different day in USA.
Yes, happy early birthday Maryse in case I don’t get WiFi in Mexico!
Always Room for Cupcakes was a cute, funny read. I needed a little break after all the more angsty books lately. I’ll be reading the next one when it comes out.
Tessa, I loved Melody Bittersweet. Who are you rooting for? Leo Dark or Fletcher Gunn?
Maryse, is tomorrow your birthday?
Reading one of the stories in My True Love Gave to Me. A little Christmas in August.
Fletcher. I like him best so far.
Does everyone have a good Sunday read lined up?
I’m going to try and focus on A Lover’s Lament today.
Im finishing up Magic Rival by Ella Summers. 7% left. 🙂
Alright, I finally reviewed TLHoG. *ducks from incoming peanuts*
Tessa, I was expecting a negative review, lol.
Didn’t you want Amber to just leave certain people behind? But then when she says why she couldn’t I totally understood. Well, there is the one person I wanted someone to push off a cliff.
lol THat person helped make the book good. Who doesn’t love to hate the bad guys? My real issue was Book two. That I really had issues with.
I’m trying to think of what parts. Was it with the H in particular or the way it resolved and the answers we got?
In book two? H specifically. I had issues with his actions,
Yes! That’s who I’m liking so far too!
So I have only read Trent’s book of the Maddox brothers and I think (depending on reader reactions) that I want to read Beautiful Funeral. I’m assuming you must read all the brothers first though, does anyone know for sure?
Tasha J. They are all stand alones based around the brothers but Im anticipating that Funeral will bring them all together so there will probably be spoilers for those who havent read all the books.
Hmm I’m mostly wondering how lost I would be or if I’ll catch on pretty quick. A Mcquire marathon may be in my future.
I tried the second brother’s book and idk maybe I’ll go back to it. I just couldn’t get into it and didn’t really like the premise.
Bev I have struggled with a couple of the spin offs…I had trouble finding anything unique in personality between the brothers….they all blended together for me in the end. Travis was the stand out *winks at Maryse*
The one where the brother is a fire jumper and the h lives above a cafe was pretty good. Cant even recall the plots for any of the other books!!
One final down (online and open book but it was horrid) and two more finals to go as well as a research project and 3 weeks of clinicals and I. Am. Done! GAH I’ve missed reading and hanging out with you guys!
Hmmmm, the Maddox brothers…I am SO far behind with them and need to do some catchin’ up before attempting BF. But hey, I *am* caught up with the Abby and Travis extra on Wattpad so that’s all that matters. 😉
And yes, Bev…it’s our special girl’s birthday tomorrow. 😀
bah humbug everything is meh
I have half a dozen books started and not 1 of them is holding my attention.
The mehs stink, Fabi. Maryse does have a new list and review up, might help. Or—–Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda.
