And some recommendations too! I’ll be working and adding to this list all day, so keep checking back…
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKENDΒ Β !!
- MemphisΒ by Ginger Scott <— GINGER SCOTT FIGHTER ALERT!! She doesn’t want to become like her mom and lose herself to a man… but then she meets HIM. “…When heβs in the ring, he wears the stare of a man committed to the battle until his very last breath. He could end me; turn me into her. Too much of him will leave me as a shadow, and Iβve lost so much of myself already. But I have discipline. It came the hard way. Lessons learned, scars left behind, and trust stripped away from life. I will breathe his air, but I wonβt fall for a man like him. The only boxer whoβs ever going to break my heart is the one who gave me my name.”
SparkΒ by S.L. Scott <— LIVE!!! S.L. SCOTT’S LATEST ROCK STAR ROMANCE! A one night stand lead to a baby… “My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known. There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned...”
- The Indigo Girl: A NovelΒ by Natasha Boyd <—Β NATASHA BOYD’S RECENT HISTORICAL RELEASE!!! Jessica recommends this wrenching romance!!
Jessica:Β I absolutely loved INDIGO GIRL. I go to Charleston often, and it was *such* a fascinating look into the cityβs history. Love love loved itβ¦smart, romantic, and wrenching all at once. Highly recommend!
- The Judge’s Wife: A NovelΒ by Ann O’Loughlin <— LIVE!!! HISTORICAL TANGLED WEB π Oh my… that blurb!!!!
THIEF (Boston Underworld Book 5)Β by A. Zavarelli <— LIVE!! RUSSIAN MAFIA MAN TAKES HER... “It is my duty to my family to stay innocent and pure. To marry an Italian man. The stars are already aligned.Β But Nikolai Kozlov re-writes my destiny with five simple words.Β You belong to me now.Β He’s Russian mafiya. A thief. A skilled liar with no moral boundaries. He is everything I have been taught to hate…”
- Gansett Island Boxed Set Books 10-12 (Gansett Island Series)Β by Marie Force <— MARIE FORCE PARTIAL SERIES BOOK BUNDLE!!

When Johnny catches his eye at a party, Ryan’s interest is piqued even though he’s never been with a guy before. The attraction is mutual, and the amazing night that follows opens Ryan’s eyes to his bisexuality.Β Experience has taught Johnny that love hurts. Staying single is safer, and there’s no need for complicated relationships when hooking up is easy. When he moves in next door to Ryan, they’re both interested in picking up where they left off...”
The Hashtag series by Cambria Hebert <—Β Angela recommends this whole series!
Angela: The Hashtag series by Cambria Hebert. I recently discovered it when #Nerd was featured here. OMG. Girl you have got to read this series!!! It is phenomenally well written and has a very intriguing storyline as well. I have also fallen in love with its spinoff Gearshark series. All the feels!!!! Seriously – you have to read them!
Family is Forever (Conversion Book 6)Β by S.C. Stephens <— LIVE!!! S.C. STEPHEN’S LATEST VAMPIRE BOOK ALERT!! “..Julian Adams would give anything to rewind the last few months. His sister has been forever altered, a man he distrusts is now a permanent part of his family, and the woman of his dreams no longer remembers him. The only thing left for Julian to do is start over…”
- Behind the Bars (Music Street Series)Β by Brittainy Cherry <—Β LESLIE IS INSISTING!!!!!! AND she’s pretty convincing! Her loving rant is about dual POVs (and how much THIS ONE worked!!)…
Leslie M: Behind the Bars (and I know I wonβt stop yammering about this book) need it because the MCβs have totally separate stories to tell. (and when you meet poor, broken Elliot, you will want to be in his head forever & ever)So, I think liking/disliking dual pov is part personal taste and part author talent.
- Hot Mess (Into The Fire Series Book 4)Β by J.H. Croix <— LIVE!! FIREFIGHTER ALERT!! “…he comes walking back into my worldβthe epitome of tall, dark & dangerous.Β I canβt withstand the heat.Β We take another chance, thinking we can burn this fire to ashes.Β But thatβs only the beginning.Β Itβs a messβheβs my boss and nowβ¦Β Heβs about to be a father.“
Never Sweeter: A Dark Obsession NovelΒ by Charlotte Stein <— BOOK-BULLY ALERT!!!! And it’s super-bargain priced! Laura LOVED it!!
Laura: Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein is bargain priced on Amazon… it is one of my favourite books of all time. A bully romance that has such a painful and sweet storyline. I sobbed right along with Letty when I thought Tate had betrayed her trust. Definitely, a story to be consumed in one feverish evening.
Tessa: Ooh, thanks, Laura! Thatβs been on my wishlist for a while now!
Maryse: Thank you Laura! I love this author and I just one-clicked it. YAY ME βn Tessa and whoever else clicked it! π
Look the PartΒ by Jewel E Ann <—Β JEWEL E ANN RECENT RELEASE & HEATHER LOVED IT!!
Heather: Just finished βLook The Partβ by Jewel E Ann!!! So goooood, best book of 2018 for me so far
JulieO: I finished Look The Part yesterday and loved, loved, loved it. Flint was truly broken. Hard to come back from something like that. I also liked that Ellen had pet rats. Nobody understands having them for a pet unless you do if that makes sense. My daughter had one named Stella who did tricks and followed her wherever she went in the house. The whole family was in tears when Stella passed. Off the subjectβ¦.read Look The Part.Linda:Β Loved Look the Part by Jewel E. Ann!! I swear she never disappoints!! Also my 2018 favorite so far!!

- Maybe SomedayΒ by Colleen Hoover <—Β Ashley’s COLLEEN HOOVER GO-TO!!
Ashley:Β Maybe Someday is one of my go-to reads! Iβve read/listened to it at least 6 times.
Insatiable Bachelor (Bachelor Tower Series, Book 1)Β byΒ by Ruth Cardello <— LIVE!!! A RICH MAN ONLY CLUB!!! “…I easily network with men trying to launch their careers or those at the top who want to stay hungry. The best part: the tower attracts women, beautiful women who hang out in the lobby bar and vie for an invite upstairs. Easy, like fishing in a barrel.Β Until Brockton dies and Penny Fuller moves into the apartment next to me because the new owner doesn’t share his vision.Β Everyone agrees Penny can’t stay…“
The Elements Series by Penny Reid <—Β Kelly reminds us how much she loves this series!
Kelly: …you should try The Elements Series by Penny Reid. It is so well written as all Penny Reidβs books are and although it has laughs like many of her books the feelings I get when I read it and Iβve re-read it multiple times and listened to the audiobook too. He bumped the great Mr Grey outta top spot. Truth!!!

Good morning! Happy, happy Friday!!
Good morning Nay!!!!
π
*peeks in, waves from the door, drops curtain back into the blankie fort*
Amy – I loved The first book in the Three Series once upon a time, but not the rest. I don’t remember it now, so it was no Golden Dynasty! Ugh. Never going to get that feel again!
It’s been raining all week here in North Texas. Totally over it. How do people in London & Seattle do this? Good for reading, I guess, but I’m over it!
Bad weather totally depresses me…I need to move. I hate the cold.
Anyway, happy Friday everyone! Read anything good lately? I loved Vixen and the Vet and In Harmony.
Does anyone get wishy-washy with their star ratings? I feel this happening to me a lot lately. Like the more I think about the story the more I liked/disliked it and I want to change my stars.
I’m sneaking in to report that Christian Poe, in Gaslight, is not disappointing me. He’s one smexy Irish Vampire! If you haven’t read Dannika Darks Crossbreed series you are so missing out!
I love you sneaking in with tidbits, Robyn!!! Thank you my friend! π
Maryse this one is going live Feb 25th. Undertaker: The Evil Dead Series Book 8. Been waiting for this one.
I’m looking it up Randi!! Thank you for the heads-up!! π
Leslie–yes, I do that. Often.
I loved the 2nd book of the Three series with the werewolf guy–I thought he was UBER sexy! That’s one of my favorite KA books.
Marsye, Christin Harber has new release on pre order for 2/27. Delta Series Ricochet
I read Look The Part and really liked it too. A lovely CR! I’m intrigued by The Indigo Girl. Wonder whether it would have enough romance in it for me. I might check it out anyway.
HR fans out there, Stella Riley just has a new book out in her gorgeous Georgian series, the Rockliffes. This one is called Hazard. Looks good! I really enjoyed the previous one, The Wicked Cousin.
Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein is bargain priced on Amazon (99 cents); it is one of my favourite books of all time. A bully romance that has such a painful and sweet storyline. I sobbed right along with Letty when I thought Tate had betrayed her trust. Definitely, a story to be consumed in one feverish evening.
I loved reading Look the Part! The h was quirky and so uncomplicated. I loved their banter. It was a really good story. A even laughed a few times.
I listened to Beartown this week. Has anyone else read it? I canβt stop thinking about it. Itβs not our usual romance trope. It was so much more. It was about first crushes, Love a parent has for a child. The love of friends. The love of marriage. And… the love a town has for their hockey team. Something awful happens and everyone in the townβs loyalty is challenged. Thereβs such a fine line between innocence and bad. Itβs never a straight story. I cried a few times. I didnβt think I would love the story like I did.
Thank you Laura. I snagged that one, even though it’s not my usual style. For 99c, it’s worth trying!
Ooh, thanks, Laura! That’s been on my wishlist for a while now!
And since everyone is wowing over their books, I finished The Dark Calling by Kresley Cole and OMG. Anyone reading the series, I really am torn now. That last one was intense and yeah, the inactive card played a HUGE part of this book. Honestly, after reading it, I don’t know how they will defeat the big bad everyone fears in the next book. Just, Wow. Lots of stuff to love and TONS of stuff that will have you all just astounded. It was better than expected.
Thank you Laura! I love this author and I just one-clicked it. YAY ME ‘n Tessa and whoever else clicked it! π
Loved Look the Part by Jewel E. Ann!! I swear she never disappoints!! Also my 2018 favorite so far!!
I finished Look The Part yesterday and loved, loved, loved it. Off the subject….read Look The Part.
Oh and JulieO!!!
I’ve had rats as a child (Japanese hooded rats – sooooo sweeeeet! “Ritz” and “Crackers”). My dad loved them so much, that he adopted them for himself, and every weekend, he’d bike ride around the neighborhood with a rat on each shoulder. They LOVED him.
And then when I was in college I had a rat that became so affectionate (I held all the time) and would literally snuggle into the crook of my arm while we’d watch tv and fall asleep. HE LOVED being snuggled and having back and belly rubs. They are an AMAZING and smart pet!
My daughter used to take hers to high school with her when she wore a hoodie and she would snuggle up in the front pocket area and sleep all day during class.
They are like a teeeeeny-tiiiiiiny dog! But calmer… in a weird way.
I love a rainy day.
I could not live in one of those places that have sunshine over 300 days a year.
GASP!!!!
LOL!!! And yet I love a rainy day too. And thunder. Oh how I love a day of pouring rain and thunder…
Aaah I’ve just finished Never Sweeter (I’m a sucker for bully-books). SO GOOD. I just adored it. And gosh, did it start with a bang!
I remember Never Seeeter. It was a bully book!! And good. Need to read more of her books. Sheβs great.
I’ll jump on the rats bandwagon. One of my kids had them as pets for a while too. They’re NOT creepy. They are cute (YEP!) playful, clever and surprisingly clean. I love that you had rats too, Maryse.
So don’t let the rats put anyone off Look The Part. It’s a really good book! Maryse, I think you would like it. Not cos of the rats LOL. It’s just a good read.
What Jan said
What Jan and JulieO said. Except I didn’t read the book yet. LOL!!! π
The Wolves of Winter by Tyrell Johnson is on sale for 2.99 from 11.99!!! This one is high on my tbr
It is so quiet up in here. I hope everyone is doing something fun.
I loved my rats. I had two, Damon (named after the Vampire Diaries Damon) and Keelore. Extremely smart, loved to cuddle, and went NUTS for egg sandwich mix as a treat.
But rats are not dogs. If you get lost a dog will help you. A rat will go away and then come back to eat your toes.
Watching Columbus which I’ve wanted to watch since I first heard of it.
So far not disappointed. Love the way it looks and the leads have an easy charm, though a subdued movie.
On a shallow note I love the the lead actress hair. Those small perfect waves. I remember Julia Stiles had that in 10 Things I Hate About You. Always loved that style
Hahaha bev. That’s so not shallow. Who doesn’t enjoy looking at actress’s hair during a movie?
OUCH Tasha. I had a look at The Wolves Of Winter (which looks intriguing BTW) and on amazon australia it’s $19.99 AUD. *faints* That’s probably the MOST EXPENSIVE kindle fiction book I’ve ever seen.
What is it with publishers and the OUTRAGEOUS prices they have the gall to ask? Aussies, just say no!
So it’ll be the library or nothing for me with that one……
Oops bev. I had the perfect opportunity and I forgot to say it…..
I THINK NOT!
Holy cow Jan, I’ve not yet seen one that high! I hate that publishers basically charge the price of a physical book anymore too, but then I wonder how else they’ll make their money when not near as many people buy physical books anymore.
I’ve been ridiculously busy all week and weekend. Will be next week and weekend too and then I’m hoping for a break! Lol I know it’ll never happen with spring stuff to prepare for, but my energy supply is always on low now and I need more downtime.
The reason Ebooks are cheaper is because it doesn’t cost as much to manufacture. However, eeew. That’s insane. Why is it so high in Australia? It’s only 2.99 in the US.
π It seems to happen like that sometimes down here. The Hating Game was more expensive here than anywhere else for a long time. Ironic as the author is an Aussie…..
Well, that was good.
Was away for the weekend so I’m just catching up on all the comments.
Who was it here that recommended Midnight Valentine? I’m 20% in and totally loving it! My perfect broken guy and a snarky heroine in his face calling him out! So good!
? What was good, bev??? Did I miss something?
*goes to look up Midnight Valentine*
I think she meant the show Columbus that she watched.
MichelleS…I’m right there with ya. I DNF’d it. π I was SO hoping for a Golden Dynasty feel but definitely didn’t get it. *sigh* I just couldn’t get into the story and really didn’t care for the H or h, so I figured I’d quit while I was ahead. Oh well, what’re ya gonna do, right?
Thank you Tasha for that “Wolves” sale find. I just one-clicked it. Talk about a blurb-jolt. That is EXACTLY what I love. *hug*
Tasha, I just bought that “Wolves” book too, especially after seeing Maryse’s comment about the blurb jolt. I had to check it out and then yep 1-click.
