Happy Friday!! Some goodies on today’s list for the weekend, and… I forgot to do three things on Monday (I was too excited about Prime Day) so let’s do three things today!!!
1.) I ate my first square of Godiva Dark Chocolate 72% last night, and it was FABULOUS. By the way, I normally do not like dark chocolate, but I haven’t had a sweet thing in months, and it was heaven-sent. Also it’s dark, so it’s healthy right? 😉
2.) I’m almost finished Colleen Hoover’s latest “All Your Perfects” and I’m loving it. It totally blindsided me at one point. Review coming soon…
3.) My big Prime purchase was three more DNA kits (for my mom, sister and aunt that are coming to visit in just a couple of weeks).

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, Book 1) by Kerrelyn Sparks <— ONE OF MY FAVORITES & IT’S ON SUPER-BARGAIN!!! This is one of my FAVORITES by this author and it had me swooning and giggling like crazy. Hilarious and super-steamy! Ahhhhhhh Roman. You still have my heart. 😉 Here’s my review.

Shiver by Suzanne Wright <— Tessa FIVE-STAR LOVED IT!!
Tessa: Shiver was intense enough for me. Oh, and a total 5 star. AND! The hints were there and I didn’t guess the bad guy!!!!! That’s always a thrill. Mostly, though, the storytelling and real feel of the book got me. It never felt contrived at all. <3 I finsihed GW2 a little around ten last night, and thought, okay, read for ten-fifteen before sleeping. NOPE. Up until 1am. It was THAT GOOD!
Greyson (A Hell’s Harlem Novel) by J.M. Walker <— LIVE!!! BIKER BOOK ALERT! “...It started the moment she passed out in my arms. Seduction. Vile. Depraved. Desire. *look through binoculars*
Where’s the Friday glitter?
*searches for Grey*
Glitter? But, but… it’s FRIDAY!!! GLITTER PLEASE!!!
Morning! I bought the Millionaire Vampire one just because u said it was awesome and funny, didn’t even read the blurb. I know I’ll need it after AYP (still finishing too!) Eye Contact sounds intriguing also. Fisher Amelie’s releasing Idle July 29th, I’ve got my eye on that one!
Yay for chocolate! I feel so sad for u on your diet. Every time I have carbs I think, poor Maryse doesn’t get to eat this anymore. I wouldn’t survive it. Carbs are life. 😛
Tasha i’ll NEVER forgot the Millionaire Vampire. The whole book was funny and so fun, but in the end, there’s a scene that had me cracking up HARD!!!
LOL Tasha. I know it… I miss pasta SO HARD. More than bread, more than potatoes… PASTA.
Ok so I”m going to vent! Remember that awesome Prime Day, well they sent me the wrong thing and then when I checked the order, sure enough it was the wrong item! Instead of the InstaPot they shoved Crock Pot on me, which wasn’t a deal just regular price! I didn’t check the original order because it was on my husband’s account (stupid me)! I called Amazon yesterday and stressed my disappointment so they are supposedly refunding me the money…we shall see.
Happy Friday!!!!
I’m not sure I have 3 things.
I’ve got to think about this.
I got Strength and am reading it today. Oh, and yep, I did read Knight. Ah well. It was memorable at least and I’ll be happy to re-read it when Strength isn’t staring me in the face.
Seriously, The Curse of the Gods series is the best reverse harem series out there.
I LOVED How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire. I was on a huge vampire kick when it came out and that one was hilarious. I love most of what Kerrilyn Sparks writes.
Alright, I have to say this. I canceled a pre-order (because I’ve been on the fence if I want it now or next month since I probably won’t read it this month). Then, I got Exposed. Eagle Elite… ten years later from where they are now… cruel bully, like the first book… MINE. I adore Elite even if it is OTT because of that bully factor, and she wrote another one? YEP. I did get the newsletter, but I signed up when it was over half done so I didn’t read it.
3 things …..you know I have no self control, right?
1. Because it is beautiful:
https://youtu.be/WIL-1T_I44A
2. Because it’s cute:
https://youtu.be/qH-NFqIEQis
3. Because it’s cheerful:
https://youtu.be/7s6oo0kaWJ8
I love your three things bev!!! 😀
Extra….because why not?
Usually I find things like this cheesy….but he is my favorite, lol.
https://youtu.be/X0re_qiB5P0
And I’m done.
1. Making my retreat budget this year is taking more math than I have brain for.
2. I want dark chocolate. I’m on the stricketest of diets right now. I drank rum and diet coke all night last night…but without the rum. 🙁
3. I have to work in the yard all weekend and it will be in the hundreds!
LOL R!!!
Without the rum. *snort*
*glitter* so late because I’ve been chaperoning a field trip with the summer program today. Omg y’all… I am tired!!!
The blurb for Millionaire Vampire had me snickering so THAT is a definite click!
Three things:
1. I’m tired. And don’t feel like working today.
2. I had a teenager tell me earlier he thought I was hot until I turned around and he saw how old I was. Little sh!t. I hope he ends up a 40-year-old virgin.
3. It’s almost Shark Week!!!
bev, that little girl is ADORABLE! And I love how they use a cartoon-type dress to cover her up. 😆
1. I’m on a mission to get rid of all the kids toys. There’s too much. Toys everywhere. There’s a ton of clothes I’m ready to have go too. Operation clean house begins next week. Things are boxed, but I need time.
2. It’s storming!!! Oh, how I’ve missed stormy days. I wish the kids enjoyed it as much as I.
3. I binged On My Block on Netflix today. Pretty sure there was no buzz on this one, but I really liked it. And the end was a MAJOR cliffy so I’m glad it was renewed for season 2.
Regular lurker, infrequent commenter here. Not book-related, but re: DNA kits…
I realize that everyone has their own thresholds and comfort level about what’s private vs public and how comfortable they are sharing their own data. But I want to share that I work for an ethics review board (aka IRB) and we see applications from our researchers to use data from companies such as 23 and Me, ancestry.com, etc. and there is really no such thing as “private information.” When you submit a saliva sample, these companies are providing you with information about your background and then selling or sharing your data as they see fit. Yes, our researchers are doing wonderful work on rare diseases and ancestry genetics, but a whole lot of private information (for example, data that customers answered as part of the surveys and other demographic information) accompanies the samples and/or genome data.
Within the current administration, there are also proposals to create loopholes within the genetic non-discrimination act so if you find that you have a medical condition that makes you unfavorable to insure, you may have more trouble obtaining insurance in the future. https://gizmodo.com/23andme-is-selling-your-data-but-not-how-you-think-1794340474
Again, everyone has their own comfort levels around privacy and I know people who have found their results to be interesting. Just wanted to add a different perspective for those who may not be aware.

I’m not usually a fan of the naked torso style book covers. But check out the cover of that Amy Daws book up there (Surrender). Hubba hubba. Yup, I surrender right now. Maybe it’s the addition of the soccer ball? Or maybe it’s just those ripped abs. LOL.
And this one! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=foyH-TEs9D0
OMG I was right!!! I finished the book.
Lol. Have to be a bit extra when I’m waiting time waiting.
Tasha, like those, especially the first one. Both new to me. I keep replaying Jinho’s cover of Havana.
Jan no judgement. Did you see my posts. I’m crushing on those in their 20s. It’s a very confusing time right now.
Catherine that is really interesting and an interesting job.
I’m curious about the health testing aspect of the tests at the same time I just do not want to know. I might end up worrying more if i know.
I stumbled upon Sera Cahoone while I was googling Alex Murdoch *blushes*. And it was one of those pop ups of other people and I kept clicking and then I’d swing over to amazon music and download whatever was available for free. I don’t even sample first, just a whim. Turns out I really like her. I like listening to it on there more than that video there. With Stand by me, I downloaded from 2 artists also on a whim. That one just gives me happy feels.

DG, thank you for recommending Where One Goes! This book definitely brings the tears, but it also makes you laugh. I could not stop reading it…one clicked this morning and finished this evening! Thank you!
Mona, glad you enjoyed it also! Just to update…I finished it yesterday…with tears STREAMING down my face. Even waterproof makeup would not have survived this MONSOON of emotion! I literally had to fall back on a reread of Thatcher and his over the top cockiness to pull me out of it!
Thank Max Monroe for Thatch! #Iwouldthatchthat. Lol
Tasha, you have to love a new summer obsession.
Grr. I’m having a Tessa moment. I’m enjoying the book….but it takes place in Oregon and….
Either make it all fictional places or do the research.
Granted, if it wasn’t too close to home I wouldn’t notice, but it jerks me out of the story.
Up before the crack of dawn today for my daughter’s championships. Ridiculous time, I swear. And I (by myself) have to manage getting all of us including chairs and what not outta the house in the next 20 min (feeding baby now). This should be comical. Lol
So I was thinking of a would u rather scenario. Would u rather plummet to the earth in a plane crash OR be stranded in the ocean when the boat you’re on sinks?
I prefer the plane crash. Cuz, sharks and other unknown. Like, what if I live for a while and have to suffer in unimaginable ways? I suppose that could happen with the plane too, but I’ll take my chances.
My heart hurts. Just f@cking hurts. A close friend of ours may not even make it through today. Cancer f@cking sucks! I have been so positive that he would beat this…that he would get his HEA…see his youngest graduate…walk both his daughters down the aisle…meet and marry his soulmate…bounce grandbabies on his knee…grow old with the rest of the good ole boys…GAH! My heart just really, really hurts.
D.G., so sorry about your friend. *hugs*
I’m sorry to hear that, D.G..
*hugs* DG. Cancer sucks. There are no other words. I pray for peace and an end to his suffering for your friend. I am so so sorry. I know how you feel. This is so unfair. *big big hugs*
*hugs* I’m sorry DG.
RIGHT BEV? It totally throws me when someone writes about a place I know really well, but the writer is clueless. It throws you out of the story and you can’t stop thinking how wrong they are.
I’d rather be on the boat. I can swim. I can float. I know not to wear all black in the water. And I know to take the boat apart enough to have something to float on. If all else fails, I’d rather die knowing I tried.
Exactly. Just use the state but make up the towns and such if you need to.
I was so sure this summer is try to be healthy…..instead I had chocolate marshmallow cookies for breakfast.
*sigh*
I’m taking small steps with health. Well, almost no sugar. That’s a given. But mostly, eating when I’m actually hungry.
You know what I did find? Carbs make me hungry sooner than anything else does. I’ll eat a salad and nope. Not hungry for three – four hours. Protein of course fills me. But bread? Pfft, the Chinese food rule. I’m hungry an hour later. That doesn’t stop me from eating them, but I’ve put more protein and veggies into my diet.
*bites into famous amos cookie* I have a problem with sugar.
*hugs DG* So sorry to hear about your friend.
*takes one of Tasha’s cookies and absently eats it*
*picks up kindle and starts browsing through hundreds of samples I’ve downloaded, searching vainly for that next really great read*
I’m watching Ready Player One. Totally bizarre. I dk what I was expecting, not my usual type of movie, but I’m into it.
Something Like Happy by Eva Woods is on sale for 1.99. I read this one and loved it. All the details are still with me too, cuz sometimes even when I love a book, I forget stuff.
Good Morning.
Quiet weekend around here. I am finishing my current read, then getting ready to jump into an ARC that I am SUPER stoked about. You know…since this cover screams my name. Someone Else’s Ocean by Kate Stewart, it is gorgeous and *glitter, all the glitter*. I haven’t read anything about it… I want to read the book based on the cover…period. 😆 That makes me slightly insane, right?
I just finished another book!!! I’ve been reading all weekend. review to come in just an hour or so. 🙂
I love this quote in the book in reading.
There is no world where “you’re wrong” is an acceptable answer to “this hurts.”
I LOVE that quote. It’s exactly right. What book is it bev?
*scrolls backwards through the comments*
