HAPPY FRIDAY, HAPPY READING WEEKEND and… it’s the day of forbidden love (er, well… at least two of today’s Friday Finds, anyway). Like that one there to the left.
Let’s play “Three Things” (in the comments) shall we? This is one of our favorite games (anything about you, right now – random or not) to bring us up to date (courtesy of bev – I love her fun personal quizzes). Okay so I’ll start!
- A bunch of us are buddy reading that one up there to the left (One Week). I know it’s going to make a mess of me, and I LOVE that!
I’m ALSO reading another book that I’m so into called The One. Imagine you can have your DNA tested, and find your exact love match/soulmate. Sounds perfect doesn’t it? But oh the complications, and this book GOES there. I’m LOVING it!!
- I just planted my 3′ lemon tree into the ground with my navel oranges. I grew them all from seed (from organic fruits, and growing from seed can be hit or miss on exactly what kind of fruit will be produced – yummy or sour?). BUT!! The lemon tree is extra special to me because it’s polyembryonic (meaning TWO trees came up from one seed, which, from what I gather, means that ONE of those trees is a perfect clone of its original tree and will produce the exact same kind of lemons I took it from). YAY ME!!!!
Okay, now you! 😀 And also…
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND !!
- One Week by Roya Carmen <— LIVE!!! ROYA CARMEN’S LATEST FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT! OH MY MY MY.
This one is going to be tumultuous!!!!! I’m going in! She’s in a troubled marriage, and then she meets him… “...she resolves to move on and forget about her beautiful stranger. But then… she makes an unexpected discovery, and it shakes her perfect world to its core. Rules don’t apply anymore. An arrangement is made, and her husband gives her just one week with Eli. The rules are clear: One week. Sex only. No contact thereafter. Seems simple enough, but it’s never simple when it comes to love...”
Leslie M: Maryse, are you reading One Week? We are doing buddy read over on GR. 🙂
Maryse: Leslie… HECK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy: One Week is sounding tempting. Even if her Ground Rules DID get me all kinds of p!ssed off. *snort*
The Upside of Falling (The Blue Line Duet Book 1) by Meghan Quinn <— MEGHAN QUINN’S LATEST IS LIVE!! “...I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost. Focus. Resolve. Determination. But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed. One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks...”
- The Date: An unputdownable psychological thriller with a breathtakding twist by Louise Jensen <— PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT!!

Doyle <— ROCK STAR/SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE ALERT!! “…With his now world famous rock band, Relentless, on break from their continental tour, he returns home to small town USA hoping to win back the girl he left behind. But nothing is the same in Clinton, New York. Old ghosts begin taunting the ex-lovers until their deepest secrets threaten to unravel their very fragile existence, leaving a trail of truth and lies in their wake...”
Even Money (All In Duet Book 1) by Alessandra Torre <— ALESSANDRA TORRE’S LATEST & Jean was enjoying this one!
Jean: I am loving Even Money! I can’t explain it, but it’s kinda giving me the old feels from books like Release Me (J. Kenner), Naked (Raine Miller), Bared to You (Sylvia Day), This Man (Jodi Ellen Malpas), Fifty Shades,…… just the feelings though. I could be wrong in my assessment because I’m only at 30%…..I have no idea where it’s going or if it’s even erotica…… great storyline so far! I have a feeling I’ll be needing to jump into book 2.Keep you all updated!
Imperfect Love Story (Imperfect Love Duet Book 1) by Rachael Brownell <— ONE TRUE LOVE DOESN’T GO AS PLANNED… “...They say everyone has one true love, one person who was made just for them. A person they were meant to spend the rest of their life with. The thing about life… it doesn’t always go as planned…”
- Road-Tripped: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (Ad Agency Series Book 1) by Nicole Archer <— ROM COM!!! Rochelle LOVED this recommendation:

Revisit your old favorites and discover our newest addition to the trio. This dystopian future is full of insta-love, alpha males, and lots of steam in between.”
- Divided by Magic by Rebecca Danese
Cry Baby by Ginger Scott <— GINGER SCOTT ALERT!!!!! HE’S IN A RUTHLESS STREET GANG & HE’S FALLING FOR HER… “...there she was, moving boxes from the back of an old pick-up into a house Tristan had shot up on a dare with his friends only a few months before. Tall enough to look him in the eyes and strong enough to fill his shadow, Riley took up space on his streets, her loud mouth fearless in the face of the gang leaders who terrified everyone else…”
- Hotbloods 7: Invaders by Bella Forrest
- The Heartbreaker (The Hunter Brothers Book 3) by Lili Valente
- The Cottage on Sunshine Beach: An utterly gorgeous feel good romantic comedy by Holly Martin
- THAT MAN 6: (The Anniversary Story) by Nelle L’Amour
- Craving Mr. Kinky (The Mr. Wrong Series Book 4) by A.M. Madden and Joanne Schwehm <— A CAR ACCIDENT & THE ANGRY SCHOOL TEACHER ALERT!!! “…I was all for feisty women, but I preferred leaving that for the bedroom–not on the streets of New York. When I learned she was a school teacher, that worsened my disposition. What man didn’t have a dirty teacher fantasy at one point in his life? I decided it was my turn to teach her a thing or two… or so I thought. Little did I know, Miss Prim-and-Proper would turn the tables on me...”
Family Ties by Stephie Walls <— STEPHIE WALLS FORBIDDEN LOVE ALERT!!! This one just went live early and Nancy loved it! She says:
“FAMILY TIES by Stephie Walls went LIVE early! I read an advance copy and fantastic. Forbidden love because they are foster children with the same loving foster parents that consider them siblings even with no blood connection.”
- Well, This Is Stupid: A Book of Poems Written by a Sleepless Writer by Ives Phillips <— AMI RECOMMENDS POETRY!!! Hey I am all ears!!!
Ami: Gotta share my poetry obsession Hello! I’m so glad I found this cool website! I’ve been trying to find someone to share my new poet obsession with, and it’s unbelievable how HARD it is! Anyway, I would really like to recommend “Well, This Is Stupid” by Ives Phillips. There are some poems that are hard-hitting and touching, and some that are witty and sweet. (I especially love their “Untitled” poem, it touches the fantasy-loving part of me and the clinically depressed part of me). I think they have a goodreads account, too, but I have yet to find it, myself. Happy reading! -Ami

Well, This Is Stupid: A Book of Poems Written by a Sleepless Writer by Pam Godwin <— Rochelle recommends this!

Happy summer vacation! *confetti and glitter cannon*
1. I slept from 10-5:30 last night, only Bc my hubby called in for an extended weekend off. Sleep feels soooo good!
2. Going to see Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom today. Not sure who’s more excited, us or the boy.
3. I’m reading a book I started a week or so ago (Lying in Wait) like a good girl, not getting distracted by the new ones I bought. Lol Also, started watching Younger and am loving it. I needed a new show.
Good morning! Happy Friday!!!
1. I got a little too much sun on the river….but worth it.
2. Blue herons, Osprey, bald eagles so beautiful flying along the river.
3. I had something really good happen yesterday. I’m a mix of shock and happy.
TGIF!!!
1. I’m still addicted to Color By Number app…. hence my slowdown in reading.
2. Rainy day here, but no boss so great day!
3. Headed to the shore for the weekend as always for some boating, drinking, eating, etc!
Didn’t know about the BR of One Week! But, I already promised some of you I’d be reading Beautiful Player this weekend!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I’m reading One Week too!!
YAY BUDDY READ!!! I’ve got an excellent reading weekend lined up, since I’m totally into both books. 😀
1. I’m reading a Bully book. 🙂 It’s good so far.
2. I’m currently addicted to Plants vs Zombies 2, so I’ve no room to talk about a coloring app.
3. Little dude is going on a field trip today to Burger King. Do you all realize that Burger King doesn’t add fries to their kid’s meal? However, they have applesauce, which is pure sugar. *rolls eyes* I can’t say much because he decided he’s getting large fries, chicken nuggets, and an Oreo shake. lol At least it’ll fill him. He’s going through a growth spurt and doesn’t want to stop eating. 😀
Okay bev, I wanna know the good news. 😉 And I wanna spend the weekend boating and drinking and eating with Jean.
Three things:
1. Hubby wants to sell our house and build a new one. I’m stressed out now.
2. I’m enjoying Logan but the turmoil of One Week is calling to me.
3. My weekend will be spent deep cleaning and reading, and I. Am. Thrilled.
Yeah bev, the suspense is killing me!
Several of you have messaged me about donations. Emma’s brother just set this up this morning. https://www.facebook.com/donate/216661485723520/
Also, the latest from Emma: “Isabel has her own heartbeat now. The machine is doing the hard work but this is a definite improvement that we really needed. Your care and love is working. ❤️❤️”
Isabel had a procedure last night to ease some pressure in her heart and to stop some bleeding issues. They are going to start dialysis today to help her kidneys.
And random…how the heck did those hearts cut and paste? I didn’t know you could do that!
Build build build. Share progress like Tasha and the baby hand.
They downsized at work and I lost my position. Had a new one that was lesser title and pay. Then at a meeting because of reasons, one being speaking up, they changed their minds and they re instated my position.
YAY BEV!!!! So happy for you!! 😀
That’s good bev and I’m sure a relief for you!
And I would say martinis all around, but I’m sticking needles in people so I should stay sober. 😆
R, that’s good news. Poor lady, I can’t even imagine. 😕
Yes, o mentioned being stressed a few weeks ago and that was why.
But happy now.
R, that’s great news!
We should all pick a house for Amy.
1. Reading Tattered by Devney Perry and loving it!!
2. My son is getting married tomorrow. On the east coast so it’s rain and more rain!! Ceremony and reception are both outdoors!! Praying the tents don’t let us down!!! Lol
3. I put lots of pressure on myself. So of course I have chosen 2 dresses!!! The one I REALLY hope to wear is very form fitting. Hopefully the personal training has paid off!!
*bwahaha* Yes, what bev said… the baby hand! BTW… congratulations on keeping your position bev, that had to be super stressful!
Amy, woohoo on the house news… I agree with bev… let’s build a house!
Jean, we’ve talked about this… Beautiful Player!
R… I had NO idea you could copy and paste hearts! However, I feel it a very good sign. ❤️
Tessa…. give up the catnip, girlfriend… what is the title of this bully book you teased me with??
Maryse, *huggles and snuggles* thank you for this wonderful place and starting us out this morning with 3 things… I love this game! I was actually thinking of it too this morning, but you beat me to it, and then I ran out of time anyway, LOL! Great minds think alike and all that!
Traci, are you liking One Week? No spoilers please, I haven’t started yet… that’s next for me…
Nay! how’s it going my friend??
Tasha, how is Mr. Jasper doing? Are the older kiddos settling in a bit now?
Did I get everybody? I think I got everyone… whew.
3 things.
1) I’m reading Unveiling the Sky by Jeannine Allison, well I’d like to be reading it, but I’ve been so incredibly busy with the last week of school craziness that I haven’t had time. And now the buddy read for One Week has started and everyone is reading but me and I’m getting squirrelly…. *ack*
2) Graduation is tonight and I always get a little sad to see the kids accept their diplomas… moving on and all that. Dang I’m getting old.
3) Food. What are we eating this weekend? I haven’t eaten today…how is this possible? It’s 430 for crying out loud…. must go figure that out in a quick hurry before I go shower and throw a dress on, haha!
1. It’s 110 in Phoenix today, nuff said!
2. Finishing up That Guy ( not sure how I feel about the ditzy h and all her antics) then on to One Week.
3. Binding two 4th of July quilts this weekend. The are both gifts so I need to get a move on!
Oops, Linda popped in here while I was composing my dissertation… *waves and tosses extra glitter and extra skinny dust* have so much fun at your son’s wedding tomorrow!
I forgot 3 things.
1. I’m waiting for my grocery store curbside pickup and they brought me 4 cookies this time!
2. I’m grilling cheeseburgers tonight because I need.
3. One of my mermaids sent me an early birthday T-shirt with a Darian-esque pic of Josh Duhamel on the front and my logo on the back!!! *dying*
Linda, rain means good luck, right? I hope you all have a blast rain or shine!
Grey, yay for summer vacation! I can’t believe yours is just starting now. We’ve been off for a month now.
Robyn omg I remember the 110 Phoenix heat. I would’ve been there on my honeymoon exactly 9 years ago now. 5 months preggo too. I wanted to shrivel up and die, I was so miserable. Lol
Yay Bev! Good for u for speaking up. Also, baby hand. Lol, I can’t believe you guys remember that. Still love it, I’m gonna replicate it when we renovate the downstairs bathroom. Thinking this winter.
Amy, moving might be fun. Except, packing all the things. And unpacking all the things. And the hassle of organizing all the things. Lol
Jurassic World was awesome!! It cost a freaking fortune to go though. We got books with tickets, like super cool activity books. And a special popcorn tub and cup that Mase can play with. He was in heaven. AND! The previews were good. Specifically, Darkest Minds!! Have ya’ll seen that?!
Jasper is doing well. He sleeps a lot and snuggles a lot. He’s generally content except from about 7-10ish. He had his 1 month appt. yesterday and is now 10lb 10oz and 21.5 inches long. Had to switch the formula again. Hopefully 3rd one is the charm.
Can you use concealer and nothing else or will that look weird? It’s honestly been 10 years or so since I’ve used any. It’s probably all different by now anyway. I have bare minerals, but I don’t want to do a full face. I want to dab and go for when my face breaks out.
3 things
1, Today was “family fun day”. First day of summer vacay for my son, hubs took day off and we went to a zoo. It was fun.
2, I hardly drink anymore but am hooked on the new Bud Light Orange. On my second one now and think I might get tipsy tonight.
3, Can’t wait to see Jurassic World.
3.5, Congrats on the job Bev. 🙂
Yeah, building sounds good and all but we couldn’t even agree on new light fixtures and cupboards for our current house. Seriously, it got ugly up in Lowe’s.
I’m enjoying everyone’s three things. 😀
I need to update my 3 things. I got 4 cookies but got home without a bag which included the cheese for the cheeseburgers! 🙁
Tasha, I can not help on makeup questions. Lol.
Amy what is your style of dream house? Craftsman? Modern? Ranch?
First, Grey. Sorry. I meant to say the actual title. Hate to Love You by Penelope Bloom. It’s a “compilation” aka it ends at 43 percent. Honest truth, it could’ve been better, but it did give me those bully vibes for a bit. The big problem is, the flashback wasn’t long enough or in-depth enough to really react the way they did. It should’ve had more. I can’t explain it, but the now time was good and all of it had those vibes.
Tasha, Darkest Minds is going to be a movie? OOOOOH! Where is Fabi? She’s the one that got me to finally read it. Also, 😀 BIG BABY! Those are always adorable.
Amy, building a house? That sounds awesome. You’d get the exact house you want that way. Cool! Though, pick the fixtures and cupboard you all chose in the old house. lol
Oh yes, Tessa! And! Stranger Things director I believe. 😀 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tN8o_E_f9FQ
That is awesome. It looks GOOD. I still have to finish the last book, but that first book hooked me. The problem is I took so long between second and third that I got a little lost. lol
Oh, I miss Fabi.
I do too bev.
She abandoned us all to play with her M/M only friends. 🙁
I needed that laugh bev! I hope not! <3
She was ours first.
😀 Ahhhh. I love you guys!
YES. Fabi WAS ours first. I miss her, too.
Tessa, we never agreed on fixtures and cupboards so…yeah. 😐
bev…I tend to like colonials, farmhouses, tudors, and some cape cods. It would take me probably a year to decide on a floor plan…and then I would have to try and compromise with hubby! *throws hands up*
Lol.
What type of home does he want to build?
It’s funny because I read this not long ago:
https://abeautifulmess.com/2018/05/my-most-asked-interior-design-question.html
I couldn’t read that much this last week. Just could not focus.
So today I picked up Air Awakens a fantasy off of KU. It’s not bad. I’d seen it rec’d a couple times recently.
Then after this on with my regularly scheduled reads.
Family fun continues today. We are going to see Jurassic World! *happy dance*
Trying to menu plan for our camping trip that we leave on tomorrow. Anyone have any tried and true camping recipes?? We’re already tired of eating the same things… *rolls eyes at my family*
I do not camp that much. But one time my friend wrapped potatoes in foil and put them in the embers of the fire. It was a chilly and drizzly trip so they tasted so good.
But I don’t know how you get tired of hotdogs and Smores on the fire. Mmm. Smores.
I hate camping, but it’s the thing to do around here now. My Mom loves to do these hobo packs https://foodforayear.com/2014/03/this-hobo-dinner-just-may-change-your-life/. You could marinate some chicken. Bring pasta salad. Yum! I’m hungry.
Yum! Hot dogs, smores, burgers….
I was going to suggest some different types of salads. Pasta, slaw, potato, antipasto, etc.
1) I eat a lot. like lot lot a lot of a lot so that this sentense doesn’t even make sense.
2) Never been to a signing. Boooo
3) I’m so stressed out. The finals are giving me hard time. But at least I’m not hungry.
Sending all the prayers for those who need them.
Well, we glamp. Haha! We just bought an RV earlier this year. Well, a second mortgage, if you want the truth. We’ll be paying for it until we’re dead. #Truth. But… my brother and his family have a camper and their kids and mine are the same age… and it is fantastic to go places together. Making memories, you know? I’ll only be gone 3 days this time, and this trip we definitely have WiFi. 😉
Anywho, we go places together, cook together, the whole deal… So we’re cooking for at least 10 people for every meal. My brother has a smoker, so he’s doing pulled pork this time. Last time we had ribs. I am gonna make pasta salad. We usually do grilled cheese/grilled ham & cheese/Grilled pizza sandwiches… Steak/burgers/hot dogs, Salt/vinegar chicken… just looking for something new.
Tasha, that looks yummy! Keep the ideas coming, ladies!
So…..you’re RVing.
I’m thinking you have a fire and an igloo. Lol.
Any meat with herbs will be “different” RV camping or over the fire. Another thing is a cold veggie salad. Basically all the mixed veggies in pasta and a sauce. 🙂 There are a ton of recipes for that, though I prefer just a simple salad dressing. Deviled eggs. BBQ’d asparagus, corn, etc. Any veggie can also be on a skewer.
Can you tell it’s lunchtime here? lol
Mmm, like a seafood packet or kabob thingy with shrimp. My family glamps too, I guess. I still don’t like it, lol. There’s a popular lake spot close to home that everyone gravitates to and they’ve all, including my folks and step bro and sis, got those huge stationary campers at a fancy grounds with sheds and golf carts and pools and what not. I like to visit for a bit, but I’m good w/just that. Bring a crockpot and do up some walking tacos.
Mary-berry. That is a cute name. Also makes me think you must bake well.
Alright ladies, a # from 1-3.
3. In honor of 3 things.
3
Sustained it is for my next read and first to read off my summer tbr.
Oh, that’s a good one too!
Hi Mary-berry! *welcome hug* When it come to food, we get it. We. Get. It. So your sentence DOES make sense. 😉
Grey, if you go to Pinterest and put in “camping food” you’ll get some great ideas. I’m with the kebab ideas with shrimp, sausage, and veggies. And veggies are always delicious on a grill. Slice up some yellow and green squash (lengthwise), brush on some olive oil and sprinkle on some salt and pepper, throw them over the fire, and holy moly they are good.
One easy-peasy camping food is similar to bev’s potato idea (which is always a win while camping) except you dice up the potatoes and slice up some kielbasa sausage, wrap it all up in foil, and then cook it over the fire. BOOM. Done. Yum.
Hey ladies, I have a deal for you…The One That Got Away by Bethany Chase is 1.99, down from 11.99!
It’s a love triangle read (okay, cheating ) and was pretty good, nothing OTT in terms of drama or angst but enough to keep me reading, and well worth 1.99. It was about a 4 star for me.
Ooh now I’m feeling so hungry for camping/glamping food. We have a big old cast iron ‘camp oven’ (a big heavy pot with a lid). You put the food in it and stick it right in the fire (in the cinders) and stack ashes on top. It has a special curved lid for that. Cooks a beautiful pot roast with veggies, or a casserole. Can also use it cook (yeastless) bread (we call it damper) or even cakes. Yum. Sausages cooked over the fire then eaten wrapped in bread with tomato sauce are an old Aussie camping fav as well.
bev I hope you like Sustained. Yes it is a good one. I’ve just started rereading Dreaming of You (Lisa Kleypas HR). Remember Derek Craven? And Sarah with the cute little spectacles?
Just catching up on comments. Busy, last week of school. Summer break now!! Except will be driving my daughter to a Forensic Science Program for the next 6 weeks.
Bev, congrats on your job. That had to felt great to speak up and keep it!! BTW, I LOVED Sustained. 😉
R. that is simply horrible. Thanks for posting the link.
3 things:
1.Planning projects for the summer.
Amy, building a house is one of the most stressful events for a couple. I would advise hiring someone to help guide you and your hubby on the decisions. Time and cost effective. Haven’t built a house, but have done major construction and re-decorating on my house, and it helped to have someone “advise” us.
I finished One Week. It was just ok, 3 stars. Not even on same realm as Ground Rules. Ground Rules was EPIC!
Oops my 3 things:
1. Planning projects for the summer.
2. Unseasonably cool and rainy here today; good reading weather!
3. Craving camping food now. We always made pie iron pies. Bread, sugar and pie filling. Found this online where they use the pie iron to make all kinds of recipes. Yum!
https://www.generalrv.com/blog/pie-iron-recipes/
Well, Leslie I was thinking of reading One Week, but now not sure after reading your comment. I think I want to read something lighthearted and funny.
I think Robin and Grey are just trying to deal right now, so I told Robin I’d post this which Emma Scott posted on FB an hour ago:
______________
Hey all. I wish I had better news to report but it is to my heart’s greatest agony that I don’t.
Yesterday afternoon we received an update about Isabel’s condition that wasn’t what we were hoping for. After much discussion with the doctors, nursing staff, chaplain, social workers, and Bill and myself, we have come to the decision to let her go. Medically and spiritually, it is what’s best for her. If there were options to take that would give her a chance, we would take them. With every fiber of my being, I wish that were so, but we have had some time to see with our eyes and hearts, that this it isn’t possible.
Over the course of the last four days, while these horrific realities were crashing into us, we have witnessed an outpouring of support and love from you that has frankly been a miracle of comfort and hope. First with thoughts and prayers in an unending wave of love, and then in the form of the fundraiser which, to me, isn’t so much about dollars as a manifestation of your incredible generosity of spirit. Many might feel helpless, but I want you to know that your support is part of HOW we are getting through this. And for that, I can never thank you enough.
Tomorrow is when we will say goodbye and I feel I won’t be in a place to say more for awhile. Already I don’t have the ability to say the millions of things I want to say and feel and cry over right now, but I want everyone to know that Isabel was the most special of girls. A light that was so bright and so beautiful, I could talk about her (and will) all the rest of my life and never come close to conveying all that she was. I want to celebrate her, and give thanks that I had this incredible child and that she chose us. And if there is something good to come out of something this horrific, it’s that she will be remembered and honored for the amazing human being she is, and that I will carry my love for her with me all the days of my life.
I have not yet begun to grasp the future that awaits. I’m on an autopilot of shock and the enormity of it is too much to comprehend. But I am lifted up by this community and that means so much. Thank you for all you have done for me and my family. Thank you.
Oh dear lord.
Saying my heart is breaking for her and her husband and that I’m in tears pales in comparison to the enormity of their grief. But it is, and I am.
There are no words.
That is horrible news. Absolutely no words.
Oh dear God. What a horrific decision to have to make as a parent.
For her to write so eloquently… I agree with Amy, no words.
My heart is breaking for Emma and her family. God bless.
I can’t even imagine going through that. A bunch of support to her and her family.
I am so sad for her and her family.
Circe by Madeline Miller is on sale for 4.99 today. I know a few of you also have this on your tbr https://www.amazon.com/Circe-Madeline-Miller-ebook/dp/B074M5TLLJ?_bbid=10192413&tag=bookbubemail10-20
Nay – that is just gut wrenching news. My heart breaks for her and her family.
I am on the edge of tears all day today. Have been all week, but I just want to weep right now. Badly, at this exact moment.
This just made me cry:
Here she is… and a quote from Full Tilt:

My heart is completely devastated for Emma Scott and her family. There are no other words and only tears…
I don’t know Emma Scott other than she is a talented author – hell, I don’t even know what she looks like – but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this since reading the devastating news yesterday.
I woke up this morning, knowing this is the day, and the thought that out there somewhere today a mother has to do this unimaginable act of mercy for her baby was, and still is, beyond what I can fathom. Bless that sweet girl’s soul.
May Emma find and be able to grasp whatever bits of strength and peace she will need to get through the weeks and months ahead.
It is incredibly brave decision.
I just hope for the the peace and privacy to grieve.
From her last update… the reason they are waiting until tonight is due to processing all the info needed for organ donation. My heart continues to weep for her. The ultimate sacrifice and so giving at the same time.
I got this from Facebook:

I need to say something really quick here, and that is that today has been so much more meaningful and profound than I ever could have imagined. Because of the donor process, things have been delayed until late tonight. If not longer. And so I’ve had this day to sit with Isabel and the amazing staff here who continue to support us in ways that I could never have predicted (they are family now), and talk about her, and share stories, and come here to scroll through the messages and posts. You all have given me so much peace these last few days. I wish I could convey how much it has helped. I cannot comment or reply to all the posts but I see them, and to know that my little girl has had such an impact, and to see how you all have come together to support us are gifts that are seeing us through.
Thank you so very much.
Thank you, Maryse, for sharing that with us. ❤️
Thank you guys for all the prayers and wishes. I know she sees them. ❤️
I will add my humble thoughts and prayers of support for Emma and the agony her family must be going through. So, so sad.
Heartbreaking….I couldn’t stop thinking about her all weekend.
I will say after my friend lost her son last year, there is a certain kind of comfort in the organ donation process…. knowing it will help someone else……
