BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! LIVE!!!!!! THE LATEST BIKER BOOK BY LAUREN GILLEY IS LIVE!! (American Hellhound (Dartmoor Book 6)!!!! ➔➔➔➔➔➔➔➔
“…Ghost Teague has spent the last twenty-five years transforming a once-rough club into an empire with his queen by his side, the fearless girl who turned his life around when he needed her most. This new threat is a personal one, aimed at him, at Maggie, and it’s calling into question all the decisions they’ve made thus far...” (thank you Ela!! :D)
It’s time for our latest reading weekend and there are a bunch that just went live (in fact, there’s one below, from one of our favorite authors that will bring us some much-needed relief from a recent cliffhanger)!!! AND!! Quite a few of my own PERSONAL favorite authors below (plus, of course, a few from authors I do not know yet, but want to, because of the blurb-jolts they gave me). Like that one to the left. 😉
AND! We have book recommendations, including awesome feedback for a few recent releases, in case you were tempted but waiting on reader reactions. 😀
Take a look at what we found for the weekend!!
- Before You Were Mine by Em Muslin <— LIVE!!! SHE HAD TO GIVE UP HER DAUGHTER FOR ADOPTION… and now she’s obsessed because… “Then, over thirty years later, Eli catches sight of her daughter. And she knows that she must do everything to find a way back into her life. Even if it means lying… While her husband Tommy must grow to accept his own part in the events of her early life, he can only try to save her before her obsession with the young woman ruins them both…” OH I WANNA READ IT!!! 😀
- The Fall by Nia Forrester <— RECENT RELEASE & WE HAVE FEEDBACK! Jan recommends it!
Jan: The Fall by Nia Forrester. I don’t normally enjoy this trope but it’s so well done in this book. She’s a feisty independent highly intelligent college professor in her forties who likes a one night stand but nothing deeper. He’s a new faculty member, late thirties, divorced, and has just written the latest hot button book. I think there’s about 8 years between them?? They are attracted and have what she THINKS is the classic one nighter, but he’s not going to let her get away……. It’s a great read.
- Loving Jade: Flynn’s story – Riverstone Estate Series – standalone by Roya Carmen <— LIVE!!! ROYA CARMEN’S LATEST BOOK JUST WENT LIVE!! She escapes her husband…”Yet, I still don’t feel free – I know Michael will find me. It’s just a matter of time. Love is the last thing I’m looking for, but Flynn is such a beautiful man, inside and out. He makes me believe that I can be stronger, that I can be fierce. He believes he can fix me with equine therapy but he has no clue how much damage has been done...” And then her husband finds her.
A Girl Like Me (Like Us Book 2) by Ginger Scott <— IT’S LIVE!!! GINGER SCOTT’S LATEST ALERT!!! This is book #2 after this one: A Boy Like You (Like Us Book 1)
Lisa: I just read Ginger Scott’s A Boy Like You (Like Us Book 1). It was awesome…even with a cliffy. The next one ‘A girl like me’ is out soon. I hope. Its contemporary romance for sure but there’s a twist of paranormal mystery.
Ashley: Omg it was totally supposed to say I’ve been lurking for years and I want to recommend “A Boy Like You” as my new fave book. See? This is why I lurk. I can’t even comment correctly.
Maryse: LOL Ashley!! Well I’m glad you’ve come out of “lurking” even if it was just to tell us.
*hug*
- Midnight Fever (Men of Midnight Book 6) by Lisa Marie Rice
- Speak Thy Name (The Nephilim Book 3) by Dana Marie Bell <— LIVE!!! ANGELS!!
- Tradition Be Damned (Last Hope Book 1) by Rebecca Royce <— LIVE!!! ANGELS!!
Fall Back Skyward (Fall Back Series #1) by Autumn Grey <— SUPER ANGSTY!!!. “Eleven years ago, I saved her. I loved her. But they took me away from her and locked me up. For two years, all I could think about was her. She consumed me. Took up every room in my head and gave me something to focus on, knowing I would see her soon. Nine years ago, I watched her as she walked down the aisle and into the arms of a man who wasn’t me. My brother...” Nancy found us these on super-bargain-sale!
Nancy: FALL BACK SKYWARD & BREAKING GRAVITY a two book series are now both on sale… I read them out of order, but they can be read as standalones. However, it would be better to read them in order. Lots of angst, turmuil, & broken hearts, but it isn’t ever easy but ends well
Breaking Gravity (Fall Back Series #2) by Autumn Grey <— STUDENT-TEACHER ROMANCE ALERT!!! AND It’s book #2!!
- The Darkest Corner (Gravediggers Book 1) by Liliana Hart <— WE HAVE FEEDBACK ON THIS NEW ONE!! Jean REALLY liked it, and liked #2 even more (and that one is coming out soon)!
Jean: I read The Darkest Corner over the weekend and really liked it and was lucky enough to have the author send me the 2nd book already (Gone to Dust (Gravediggers Book 2)) which I am liking even more than the first one!
- Before You Break by K.C. Wells & Parker Williams <— LIVE!!! M/M ROMANCE
- Game Changer by Kayt Miller <— LIVE!! FOOTBALL STAR ALERT!! “Alex Emerson has his life figured out. As a likely first-round pick in the next NFL draft, this All-American tight end is ready to graduate from college and move on to his life as a wealthy, single, pro ball player––the life he’s always wanted. That is until he meets Stella. She makes Alex feel like there is more to life than football...”
- Making the Cut by Jenna Payne <— LIVE!! HOCKEY STAR ALERT!!
- Game Changer by Abigail Paige <— LIVE!! BASEBALL STAR ALERT!
- Bossed: A Steamy Office Romance by Kate Gilead <— LIVE!!! HE’S HER NEW OLDER BOSS ALERT!! “My first job straight out of college and it’s challenging as hell. My hot new boss, Blake, isn’t making it any easier. Rough around the edges and tough to please, one day he blows my mind with an act of stunning, unexpected tenderness...”
- The Café in Fir Tree Park by Katey Lovell <— LIVE!!! SINGLE MOM MAKING IT ON HER OWN… “…When her husband Clint was sent to prison, she had to raise Josh and Kelly alone. But Clint can’t hurt them now, and there’s no denying that Paolo, the Italian football coach she spies every weekend out on the green, is more than easy on the eye.“
Good Lies (A Wild Minds Novel) by Charlotte West <— ROCK STAR ALERT!! SECRETLY MARRIED TO A ROCK STAR & NOW SHE HATES HIM BUT... “The two bands will be headlining together. This is going to make avoiding Warren difficult. Especially since it seems Warren doesn’t want to be ignored. He also doesn’t want a divorce. That’s right, Addy is married to the Wild Minds front man. Shh. Don’t tell.” Megan has feedback for us on this one!
Megan: Hi Maryse! I just read Good Lies by Charlotte West. It was so so so good! read it in 1 day. Thank you for posting about it!
- Playing For Keeps by Shiloh Walker <— ROMANTIC STEAMY TRIO ALERT! POSSIBLY A TEARJERKER!! “…Doctor Jacob McCoy loves Dana. So much so, that he’s even willing to share her with Mason Caldwell. But a red-hot threesome isn’t all that Jacob wants from Dana. When tragedy strikes their fledging relationship, Jacob has to convince Dana that pushing him away isn’t the answer. He wants to be in her life forever. And some things are worth fighting for…” (this one is a re-release).
Excess by Kate Stewart <— LIVE!!! KATE STEWART ALERT!!! Oh boy I DO love this author! And this sounds TOTALLY DRAMATICALLY & ROMANTICALLY ANGSTY (a love triangle? Cheating? WHAT THE??!!! The author says: “**If you are not a fan of cursing, erotic and extremely explicit sex, cheating, immoral behavior, dysfunction or sexual scenarios that may make you feel uncomfortable this is not the book for you. FILTHY. EROTIC. ROMANCE.” *blink blink* I love that warning!) “I made my fortune, built my castle, and then exiled myself within its comforts once reality set in. Far too late, I discovered I was drowning in a sea of hungry sharks. Given the choice to sink or swim, I chose the latter … and it cost me everything. Devin McIntyre, the most dangerous shark of them all, was the last nail in my naïve coffin…”
- Without Words by Delancey Stewart <— FIREFIGHTER WHO CAN NO LONGER SPEAK ALERT!!! Lisa recommends it!!
Lisa: ust have to say – I am loving Without Words. For those of you who like broken heroes (and relatively silent ones at that), this one is for you!!! HE had some type of brain injury/accident and it’s difficult for him to speak still. But she doesn’t know that and thinks he’s just standoffish and can’t figure out why he doesn’t communicate well with her and often just runs away…
Jean: Lisa! You had me at “broken”……I NEED THAT BOOK!!!
- Good Grief by Vera Elle Unita <— LIVE!!! HER NEW JOB MEANS SHE HAS TO MOVE INTO HIS MANSION ALERT! “Turns out, the mansion needs more than a little makeover, and she is stuck with that growly bear of a man for weeks. He doesn’t even like her French bulldog—who the hell doesn’t like puppies?”
Completely Captivated by A.D. Justice <— LOVE TRIANGLE ALERT!!! “Aaron breezed into my coffee shop and right into my heart. He was gorgeous, confident, and sexy. Out of all the women who threw themselves at him, he wanted me. Against my better judgment, I took a chance. Then he took our new life away. When I was at my darkest, my lifelong friend Jared pulled me through, only to tell me he wants to take Aaron’s place. But can I give my heart to Jared when Aaron already stole it?“
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—
This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). First!! Am I?
Clicked Ginger Scotts sequel. Loved the first.
Morning! Vacation starts today!
Yay! I want vacation too! Have fun!
Ahhhh, it’s a glorious day. We always leave early from work on the Friday before a holiday. I took Tuesday off, so it’s a 4 day weekend for me. And even better than all that…my husband is leaving for a weekend boy’s trip to Colorado next Friday and I took that day off too. So, I have totally to myself time next Friday and Saturday. I adore alone time. I should have been a hermit/recluse!! I’m just so happy – I think I may even feel the need to twirl!!
Yay, Grey! Hope you get to do a lot of reading!
Happy Friday!!
You too, Lisa–we must have posted at the same-ish time!
I also adore alone time, and I’ve had zero for months. I need my guys to go on a weekend fishing trip–that’d be a win-win for everyone!
YO! AMERICAN HELLHOUND BY LAUREN GILLEY IS LIVE!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071W34G3V/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1495815598&sr=1-1&keywords=american+hellhound
I just had to get Fall Back Skyward and Breaking Gravity!
I love long weekends…..enjoy everyone!
Guess what I’m reading this weekend???? Why American Hellhound, book 6, in the Dartmoor Series by Lauren Gilley of course!! Just came, out today. I’m as excited as Ela! This is Ghost and Maggie’s story and I’ve been waiting a long time for this little goodie!
Wishing everyone a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. Sending lots of good weather and tasty barbeque your way.
YAY LONG WEEKEND OF HAPPINESS!!!!! :D!!!!!
I wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, too!!!
Squeee!!! I’m picking up Lauren Gilley’s latest… in officially off until August 7th… it’s a good day (freaking hot as Hades in Texas)…
I think Dartmoor #6 will fit as my June read… I’m tying it in, Bev!
I absolutely ADORE the Dartmoor Series!
I one-clicked the Fall Back series and Excess! I am compiling my goodies for vacation in July!
Me too, Ela. Nice, big, juicy books! Alpha heroes. The girl can write’!!
Yep, I’ve got American Hellhound burning in my hot little hand. I’m having a quiet weekend just reading. 😀 😀 😀 I ADORE this series too. Yes Michelle, the girl can write!!
Goodbye HRs I’ve been madly reading lately. Let me have a bit of ole Tennessee motorcycle man. Oh yeah……..
American Hellhound….thanks for the heads up Ela. It just jumped the tbr list.
Hmm. I wonder if the first one in the Dartmoor series would match my theme.
#2 is SO TRUE and it HURTS me.
https://smexybooks.com/2017/05/smexys-top-ten-may-26.html
Long weekend and looking forward to getting some reading time in. I love Kate Stewart too, so thinking Excess may be my next read. Bonus that it is a KU book.
Oh and I did read Curveball. Not as angsty as I thought it would be and the friend relationship is part of that reason. Good read, but could have slapped the h a few times- somewhat of a broken record with her reasoning. Also wasn’t surprised about a twist. Still a good read.
Hahahahahahahah!!!!!!! :D!!!
bev I can’t believe you still haven’t read Lauren Gilley! Well, yes, Fearless (Dartmoor bk 1) does fit your theme. I need my girl. Mercy and Ava. Definitely.
Bev, that was great. I clicked on all the photos of the naval academy climbing the monument. Half-naked, buff guys (mainly) climbing a lubricated dick shaped monument. Just…wow. LOL.
Hello everyone, picked up a really good rockstar book. Sort of similar feel to Tristian and Danika in a trilogy called “At this moment” by Karen Cimms.
I think it’s free or it was when I got it. Really having trouble putting it down. Jean one for you, definitely.
Bev, your not alone I haven’t read any of her books either.
What’s ummm…………”Memorial Day” hides face.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the states.
It is the day that we honor the men and women who died while serving. It started after the civil war.
You know I used to always buy a poppy and it seems like I don’t see them as often.
It can be a weird juxtaposition because it’s Memorial Day but also it is celebrated with a lot of activities through a long weekend and lots of sales. A sort of kickoffs to summer. But there is a National moment of remembrance at 3 local time on Monday.
Seems very similar to Anzac Day in Australia. We also have poppies for that too. It’s great for a break though.
Maybe you need a Queen, we have a Queens holiday for her birthday and it’s not even her birthday.
Melinda, I did buy At This Moment! It’s high on my TBR!
Bev, I haven’t read the Dartmoor series either, but I think the first one is on one of my challenge lists.
Going to read book 2 in Jack & Jill series now…. it’s hard not to continue with so many unanswered questions!
I think everyone has ran off to join a biker gang this weekend.
Except R who is just reading the same book over and over again.
Melinda, that trilogy sounds good, but I’m hesitant since I read it takes place over 25 years!! Not a fan of the long, drawn out love affair. Also, I made the mistake of looking at all the blurbs. We’ll see. 🙂
It’s a process! 😀 But a fun one!
First Fabi and now Jan has shot me through the heart and it’s not as fun as Bon Jovi made it sound.
I’ve bought At This Moment too on the strength of the reviews and blog comments also the bargain price. But I’m head down in American Hellhound land at the moment so it will have to wait its turn on the tbr.
Thanks for asking about Memorial Day Melinda. I didn’t know either……….
bev bev bev. Be strong. We can’t all like the same books. And just cos I dnf’ed Act Like It doesn’t mean we can’t be book pals. We both love These Old Shades, remember????
I remember what Avon taught me about the long slow game of revenge. Hide with bikers while you can Jan.
this moment is a cross between The Thoughtless trilogy and Tristian and Danika. Has the want to be rock star that meets the girl and their story.
It’s really worth a read I’m on the second book now. You will love it.
Jan I’m the dummy that asks………..hahaha
Jean love the Jack and Jill series!!!
Nope Bev. Today was little dude’s birthday party. I’m brain dead and just want to crawl back into Light Shadow.
Melinda, I got that when it was free! I’ll put it up higher in my TBR. Goodness knows, there are times I just need a good rock star story.
Hey, anyone else have a wishlist on Amazon? If so, can you look at things from price lowest to highest? I used to do that to see if anything on my list is free, but I can’t do that anymore.
Hrm, and I can’t see the release date on books in my pre-order list. That kind of sucks… a lot.
I think you’re right Tessa. I remember being able to sort by price but not anymore!
I just checked my wish list and don’t have that option anymore either! Ugh!
No reason to know what Memorial Day is if you’re not American.
Tessa, I hope he had a great day.
😀 He did. We went to a play place called the jungle and a few of his friends made it (we are never having his party on Memorial Day weekend again. So many couldn’t make it.)
Fun part of autism. He got a card for Target. His response? Meh. A card for Walmart. Meh. Five dollars. Pfft. A huge Lego Star Wars set. Blah. Fidget spinner. OMG FIDGET SPINNER! lol The only other thing that got that response was Kung Fu Panda 3.
UPDATE!!!! Sustained is so charming. Utterly heartwarming…
*sigh*
🙂
I’m so sad I missed little man’s birthday, Tessa! Happy belated to little man!!! *makes light up fidget spinner birthday cake* (those things are all the rage here too!) Hope his day and party were wonderful!
Asthma and allergies are kicking my butt, so I’m spending my weekend indoors… which kind of stinks, but at least I have lots to read. I proofed Sugar & Gold yesterday, and today, I am *FINALLY* going to get my May challenge read done. Because whoa…where did May go?
LOL the piano teacher scene. *snort*
GAH. I LOVE this hero.
LOL I’m dying of laughter. The obstacle course scene.
Maryse, you definitely are selling me on Sustained. Sounds like just what I need in between all the yard work I’m doing this weekend!
Same. A good funny book is always welcome.
Grey, thanks! Sympathies with the allergy/ asthma. I’ve been living quite happily medicated with Mucinex-D due to allergies. Thankfully my asthma is for the most part controlled. It only is affected when I’m around something I’m extremely allergic to, like wolves. (I know, weird allergy, right?) I can’t imagine what it’s like for you right now.
oooooh my goodness this book is so funny!!! I’m literally crying tears from laughing so hard and told my mom the latest scene. Even she’s laughing.
Wow. I needed this one badly!
Ok, now I want to read Sustained. It’s been on my tbr for awhile.
Tessa….wolves? Like how’d you even narrow thst down?
I had a dog whose mom was half red timber wolf. He was an interesting character. But oh I loved that dog. Lost him a couple summers ago.
But it’s not corny funny. It’s witty, clever, realistically hilarious. Goofy stuff, and sweet stuff, and hot-headed stuff but so real.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!
OH MY.
OH NO HE DIDN’T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those spinners are the best thing ever for all my students on the Autism Spectrum. Seriously, like crack!! I can’t spin them. Totally uncoordinated.
I just heard of them last week. Do they help the children focus?
Uh-oh Maryse. What’d he do? Did he call her old and imply she was over weight?
Or sleep with two girls on the living room couch?
Last random thought. I’m procrastinating from some work which I wouldn’t have if I didn’t procrastinate. It’s a vicious circle.
Let’s make a summer playlist:
Summer Day: Steal My Kisses by Ben Harper
Summer Night: Mississippi Arkansas Bridge by William Bell
Summer Throwback: What I Got by Sublime
Summer Day: Watercolors, machineheart
Summer Night: When We’re High, LP
Summer Throwback: Hey Jealousy, Gin Blossoms
Bev, I’m not allergic to dogs, and a friend of a friend had a half wolf/ husky mix. Sweet dog. I’ve been around huskies, and never had a problem, but after playing with her for a while, I started to have troubles breathing. I stopped, but ended up having a full blown asthma attack. Then, someone else came to the park with their half wolf, and I started to have the same issue. So, yep. Wolves. Thankfully so rare, I don’t have much worry about it. It’s much better than when I was a teen and even cutting grass would affect it. :/
Got to think on summer playlist.
😀 MichelleS, he’s been spinning that thing like crazy. We had gotten him the clicky box one, but that one didn’t really catch on for him. This spinner, AWESOME!
So, I’m having troubles thinking of a summer day song, something happy. *grins* Because, despite my song choices, I’m a naturally happy person. (Which is probably why my song choices usually aren’t. 😛 ) So, I google, right? And under happy songs is Semi-Charmed Kind of Life. O.o Am I missing something here?
MichelleS & Tessa (and anyone else who’s been waiting for it)–A Strange Hymn by Laura Thalassa was released on Friday!.
… How did I miss that? Thank you Nay!!
Tessa–I had followed L.T. on GR, so I saw today in my feed that she had announced it. If I hadn’t been so consumed by Netflix the past couple of days, I would have seen it sooner! lol And now I’m finishing up my May challenge books so I can’t read it yet!
lol I was too busy finishing up the Dark Light series and reminding myself of the story. I’m reading Beautiful Player now. All that PNR and I NEED a CR break.
Glad you’re liking Sustained Maryse. Everyone should read it. bev…….?????? Put it to the top of your tbr stat! And what is this ‘revenge’ you speak of bev???????? Oh well, the Lean Dogs will protect me 😉
Those spinner things have hit Australia too. I had a Year 10 boy annoying me in class the other day by trying to play with his spinner all the time when he thought I wasn’t looking. Yup, even 16-year-olds…… I had to confiscate it of course 😉
No summer songs here. It’s the first day of winter here later this week and it was almost cold enough for a frost this morning. *shivers in anticipation*
Tessa. BEAUTIFUL PLAYER. I LOVE that book. Will Sumner is MINE. He’s MINE, I tell you. *cackles madly like a crazy woman*
You shivering and I’m dealing with a peeling sunburn, lol.
re: the spinners, my 20-year-old son is classified as a ‘genius’, so his brain is crammed full of things that often give him anxiety and/or make his body and his mind fidgety, and his spinner has been a godsend for him. My 15-year-old son is almost the same, and although he got his spinner as more of a ‘fad’ thing, I think he’s found that his helps him during his times of feeling fidgety as well.
bev–I was just thinking today at how badly I’d love to have a tan!
Just popping in to say thanks, bev. For the last several hours I’ve been on a music high instead of a writing high. 🙄
But I did get a new LP song for my book 2 soundtrack so not all is lost!
Oooh winter songs……
Your welcome. 🙂
I was just about to listen to your list.
Winter’s Day: Forever For Her (Is Over For Me) by The White Stripes
Clear cold night: Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Middle of the night: Make It One For My Baby One More For the Road by Frank Sinatra
The only one of yours I haven’t heard is the Bell song. But I can’t play it yet because the husband has hijacked the speakers :-/
The LP song I just added to my playlist is Tightrope. The lyrics OMG. I love her so hard. I have Forever for Now on my current playlist.
Tightrope makes me think of Janelle Monae, love that song.
Ok, just listened to LP Tightrope. I liked it…a lot. First time I’ve listened to her, kept meaning to. Now I’ll have to try more.
Well,at be he will give them back at night then turn it up.
I need to mention one more song that I think is also a great summer night song: Fruits of My Labour by Lucinda Williams. I can’t believe it has been so long since I’ve listened to it because man I love this song.
MichelleS probably would too cause she describes how he smelled. 😉
R, you have to explain the process of your sound tracks to me.
Oh god now I need Janelle Monae then!
I used to listen to Lucinda Williams all the time when I was in Austin. She was big there. No specific song, just her in general.
I (will) have a “soundtrack” for each of my books. Some of the songs are mentioned in the books, some were inspirations, and some just “fit.” The playlist for book one is complete, but book two is a WIP. This is my official book one: https://www.robinhillwrites.com/music.html
Oh, I meant Beautiful Stranger. I’m getting Beautiful Player next. *grins*
Alright, here’s what I’ve got. I really struggled with day, but I just really like this song and it does make me smile. 😀
Summer Day: Hysteria by Muse
Summer Night: Bad Things by Machine Gun Kelly feat. Camila Cabello
Summer Throwback: Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve
Nay, I believe it with the spinners. Honestly I’m tempted to buy one too. Reading is honestly the only thing that will take up all my brain. Even then, I’m getting up and having my brain focus on other things. I have troubles watching TV because my mind will go a mile a minute and won’t just watch. Maybe that’ll help to just watch and have my fingers just doing something else. Honestly, I do Sudoku while watching TV. :/
R. Do you listen to specific songs while writing?
Tessa! Bittersweet Symphony I love that song. Gah. A few songs off that album.
Did you ever watch this
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DiHWlB0Y1Dps&ved=0ahUKEwjAteTk9ZPUAhVOwWMKHXmIDrgQyCkIHjAA&usg=AFQjCNGBkdA32zmI1tQMLhdMC9k9h4W7EA
Summer Playlist:
Summer Day: Sunshower by Chris Cornell
Summer Night: All Night Thing by Temple of Dog
Summer Throwback: Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
Ah, Lisa. 🙁
R, that is an eclectic sound track. I really need to re watch Pure Country at some point.
I downloaded through prime Oasis:Supersonic. It’s by the same people who did Amy.
I love Muse! Going to see them with Thirty Seconds to Mars on the 10th!
I can’t listen to anything when I write. I have to have total silence. I listen to my inspiration songs prior, then shut everything down. I had a full night of writing planned tonight but then my husband cranked Willie on the outside PA and there went that :-/ I’m trying again now but rum happened, so we’ll see 😀
I love me some George Strait. I’m trying to model the 2nd soundtrack after the first, but that was was years in the making. It fits the book perfectly.
lol I can’t imagine doing anything without music, but I know a lot of people prefer no sound, or in case of a friend, she can’t think unless the house is LOUD. 😀 I like the idea of an inspiration set. Also, 30 Seconds with Muse? *dies* Though, Jared Leto is so thin now. 🙁 *still the prettiest eyes* I just looked and they’ll be here in Sept and lawn tickets are only 33 dollars. 😀 Gotta love Shoreline.
Bev, yes! I did see it. I do love that version. You can tell Coldplay are hard core fans. 😀
Willie….another great love. That voice. Now I need to listen to Me and Paul.
Is the second book different characters?
I’m a huge 30STM fan from way back. My hubs is trying to get out of going so I have an extra ticket… 😀
The second book is a continuation that picks up where book one leaves off, but there’s no CH.
Noel Gallagher of Oasis wrote a song dedicated to Richard Ashcroft on What’s the Story Morning glory.
Except, it’s kind of sad that all the royalties of Bittersweet Symphony go to the Stones.
Hi ladies! Anyone around?
Hubby surprised me and came home early a few days ago so I’ve been…ahem…a little busy. 😆
BUT I (finally) restarted Love Me in the Dark and ooooohhhhh is it getting juicy. I do have to say, however, that the unexpected (at least to me) POV thrown in has had the effect of a spoiler for me, and what could have been nearly unbearable and delicious angst has been reduced to a mild twisting of my tummy. 😕
Excess (Kate Stewart…heck yeah!!!) and Completely Captivated are definite clicks, and some others up there are lookin’ might tempting…
*blushes after reading Amy’s post*
Tessa, Max from Beautiful Stranger is hot, I’ll give you that. But just remember when you get to Beautiful Player… WILL IS MINE!!!!!!
bev do you mean the Beautiful series? Each book is about a different couple, but they’re all friends and you get nice little snippets of the others in each book.
Or did you mean R’s book? Now I’ve confused myself. It’s hard to keep up with all the posts sometimes, and checking out the music as well.
*goes back to reading*
I meant R’s book. I know it can get confusing and I probably do not help jumping from topic to topic.
Amy. Congratulations.
Thanks bev. 😀
*giggle* I made Jan blush!
Phew! *fans self* Is it getting hot in here? *winks at Amy*
Amy–about the angst thing–I think when authors alternate the male and female POV throughout their book, it can totally obliterate the angst that *could* be there if it was only the female POV. It really does have to be written the right way if an author wants their book to be angsty, because as soon as anything potentially angsty is written, it’s explained away in the very next chapter.
I do enjoy having male POV for some reasons, but I would sacrifice it if it would make a book have more angst!
For me with a male pov it is almost angst vs. romance. Without it can be more angsty with can sometimes be more romantic.
I will read both first and third person pov.
*wraps Jan in the blankie fort and sits on her* Uh, no… Will Sumner is totally mine. Tessa!!!! I am sooo excited that you’re reading these! Beautiful Player… *squee* I loved Beautiful Stranger… but… the Player… and his Plum… gah!
AMY!!! Girl, I am so excited for you, congratulations, and please thank your hubby for his service. *hugs*

Thanks Grey!
Yeah Nay, two POVs does dampen the angst but this just about killed the angst altogether. 😕
*winks back and giggles at Leslie*
bev…I usually prefer first-person POV but third-person can work for me too when it is done well.
Grey…I’ll tell him! 😀 *hugs*
Grey! How fun. I’m just about to go for a walk so perfect timing.
I love that we all love music too.
R, if it doesn’t disrupt your process then you should let us play a music game with your scenes. A reverse what book fits this song. Give us the theme or feel of the book and we suggest a song. Unless of course it will make you squirrel.
Amy, yes thank him.
Though I have heard some do not want to be thanked on Memorial Day? Or told Happy Memorial Day? But then I see it done so….
Probably because it’s about fallen soldiers, and they are still alive? That’s the only thing that makes sense to me. I honestly thought she meant her busy day services that made Jan blush. 😛
Beautiful Player will be what I get next time. I’m done with Stranger. 😀
I’m with you Grey. I can talk music all day. In fact, it’s rare when there isn’t music playing around me. 🙂 Yes, I read to music too.
Tessa…I’m pretty sure it WAS my “busy day services” which made her blush. 😛 Hey, a few months is a long time to go without! 😆
I can’t speak for all service members, but even though hubby doesn’t like recognition for what he does he always appreciates being thanked for his service. And he REALLY appreciates when people acknowledge those who have died while serving.
So thank YOU to everyone who takes a moment on Memorial Day to remember them. 😉
*hugs to you and your hubby, Amy*
:D!!!
lol I thought the busy day service was what Grey was saying thank you for at first. 😛 And good for you two. lol You gotta get caught up after two months!
*fights way out of blankie fort and pushes Grey off*
Look. We’ve had this discussion before, Grey.
*makes undignified grab for Will Sumner*
LOL Jan!!!!!!
You totally cracked me up. I totally “saw” you doing that.
Amy, a shout out to you too as a wife of a man in the service! You are all incredibly strong and amazing women!
OMG Tessa, what you said just clicked…LOL!!!!!! 😛
Thank you Jean! *squeezy hugs*
Oh…my ….I just “got it too”. LMAO
I’m sure her husband thanked her for those services.
Beyond that…..I ditto Jean.
Um. My mind went straight to the saucy option. That’s why I blushed. But yeah, I ditto Jean too, Amy.
Thank you ladies!!!
*pulls Maryse and Jan into group hug*
*mischieviously eyes bev*
Ummmmm…
*thinks better of it and blows bev a kiss*
