HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Now THIS is what I call a Friday list. :D !!! The amount of awesome-sounding new books that just went live in the last 24 hours rivals’s this week’s new release list, BIG TIME!! And of course, reader recommendations for those that want tried-and-true.

I hope everyone in the path of the hurricane will be safe, and maybe we can all hunker-down and read together. I read so much during the last hurricane and it helped me a lot (the characters kept me company). This time, I’m not in the path, but I know many who are, so I worry.

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND FOR THE WEEKEND :D !!

  • Muse by Katy Evans <— LIVE!!! KATY EVANS OMG ULTIMATE SERENDIPITOUS FAMOUS ACTOR FANTASY ALERT!! She missed her flight… and he did too. “…I ended up at the airport, heading home in the same condition that I arrived. In a rut. Add to all that, missing my flight and losing my laptop—the laptop, where the Best Love Story Ever sat on my hard drive. Enter Noah Steele. Eerily familiar. Movie star. Heartthrob. Sultry romeo with bedroom eyes. (But we’re not going there.) He missed his flight too...”
  • No Tomorrow by Carian Cole <— LIVE!! BLURB JOLT ALERT!! CARIAN COLE ROCK STAR ROMANCE & IT’S ALREADY TRYING TO BREAK MY HEART!!! He once broke her heart… “…You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.  I thought I knew everything about him. But I could not have been more wrong. He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting. And hoping.  Again.”
  • Bewitched And Bewildered by Alanea Alder <— Ji-Aara is now HOOKED and loved this paranormal rom-com!!
Ji-Aara: I just love bewitched and bewildered. When I first read My commander I thought it was absolutely ridiculous, but I completed the series and am waiting for more. I have to say, Alaena Alder’s Bewitched and Bewildered series have ruined me. I can’t finish my other books.
  • Drilled: (Hard ‘n Dirty Book 7) by Ava Sinclair <— LIVE!! RICH GIRL & HE WORKS FOR HER FATHER…” …If her oil baron father finds out, losing my job will be the least of my worries. Roger Tremaine will never accept the thought of a common roustabout putting big, dirty hands on his little princess...”
  • Hot Sexy Desire by Nadia Lee <— LIVE!! BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND ALERT!! “...It isn’t easy falling for your older brother’s best friend, especially when he’s a sexy as hell, hard-headed, over-protective alpha male. Unfortunately, he still treats me like the little sister he never had…”
  • The Truth About Us (The Truth Duet Book 2) by Aly Martinez <— ALY MARTINEZ ALERT!!! THE DUET IS NOW COMPLETE (book #2 just went LIVE). I AM HOOKED on Aly Martinez and now she just released this duet!! This author is one of the queens of angsty & gasp-worthy romances!!!!! HOOKED I TELL YOU! I’ll definitely be reading this. P.S. Check out all of my Aly Martinez reviews (yep!! I can’t get enough of her stories) AND!! Here’s book #1 ➔ The Truth About Lies (The Truth Duet Book 1) it made Jennifer in our book crew lose it!!! She will finally get relief *snort* :P AND WE get to dive in!!!

Jennifer: This one is most definitely NOT fairytales and rainbows. It’s hard and sad and brutal with bits of sweet mixed in. If someone is looking for a happy read….this is NOT it! But man oh man it’s so gripping ….. I can’t seem to put it down.

and then…

Jennifer: I’m in tears, my heart is racing and now I have to wait until September 13th for the sequel. UGH. I’m dying….. These authors are killing me with these cliffhangers. This book RIPPED my heart out of my chest, put it in a blender then attempted to piece it back together alllllllll to be ripped to shreds again with A FRIGGIN CLIFFHANGER! I need a blood pressure pill, vodka tonic and electroshock therapy IN THAT ORDER!

  • To Love Again by Andria Large <— LIVE!!! M/M ROMANCE ALERT! HE’S ESCAPING HIS ABUSIVE EX… “…England was supposed to help Jack get away from his ex and find himself again. I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with him there. Especially when I knew he might stay… indefinitely. With my busy schedule as an ER doctor, an ocean between us, and the trust issues his abusive ex inflicted, the chance of a successful long-distance relationship is close to zero. Loving Jack may be the one thing I can’t fix.”
  • With Love by Remus Martin
  • Prophet by S.M. West <— LIVE!! HE’S ON THE RUN but then… “…I’m blindsided by a pain-in-the-ass stranger. Maggie. Curves, startling blue eyes, and she hates me. I don’t trust her and with good reason. My plan is simple: use her. Then I kiss her. Touch her. Crave her. She was my way out, now she’s my downfall…”
  • Keep Her Safe: A Novel b K.A. Tucker <— PSYCH-THRILLER WITH TWISTS & SECRETS!!! Theresa can’t put it down (and I can’t wait to read this!)
Theresa: Reading Keep Her Safe by K A Tucker of course. I don’t want it to end but can’t read fast enough. It has so many twists and secrets. I can’t think of a thing that the book does not have in it for a perfect read. You must read every word or you might miss an important word or clue so slow read for me. I have been impatiently waiting for Simple Wild so must get this finished. Ahhh, too many books so little time lol.

Amy: All the Little Lights by Jamie McGuire is on sale…can’t go wrong with a JM book. ;)

Ashley: Y’all, All the Little lights is amazing!!!!

  • Over Easy: (Santa Lena Sizzles, #1) by Jessa York <— LIVE!!! She falls into his arms… “…Jack can’t believe his luck. When the mysterious woman he’s had his eyes set on falls into his arms—literally—he realizes he can’t let her go. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep her, even if it means playing with fire.
  • Man of the Moment (Gentlemen, Inc. Book 1) by Thea Dawson <— SHE HIRES HIM TO DATE HER… “...Archer, a struggling actor in Los Angeles, doesn’t mind making a wallflower like Annabelle look good for an evening-he’s getting paid, after all, and it’s a chance to further hone his acting skills. But when he realizes that Annabelle’s family could hold the key to his career, he decides to take their professional relationship to a personal level. But his attempts to boost his career by charming Annabelle backfire when he begins to fall for her…
  • Swerve by Inglath Cooper <— LIVE!! HER SISTER HAS GONE MISSING… “…Through her work in a hospital Emergency Room, Emory witnesses tragedy on a regular basis, but is completely unprepared when it visits her own life again. As it becomes clear that something horrible has happened to Mia and her friend Grace, Emory puts her life on hold to find them, enlisting the help of a rogue detective and former Navy Seal named Knox Helmer.  But evil has a name and a face and every intention of keeping what she has stolen…”
  • That Thing You’re Good At (A Starview Novel Book 1) by Isabell Lawless <— LIVE!!! SOUNDS CUTE & CRAZY (Ex-pro hockey player turned cop, and speed-dating?) but anyway… stuff. That blurb has a ton going on and I don’t know WHICH part to highlight. I say read it and see for yourself. ;)
  • Playing For Love: A York Bombers Hockey Romance (The York Bombers Book 6) by Lisa B. Kamps <— HOCKEY STAR ALERT!! AND A BIG *WHOOOOOOOPS!!!* “…Cara Hudgins has always been the misfit among her small social circle. Quiet and introverted, she’s more comfortable around animals than people. And she would never, ever agree to a no-strings-attached hook-up—until one night, fueled by alcohol and her friends’ encouragement, she does. Unfortunately, her one night with the adorably shy hockey player comes with a big price she never saw coming...”
  • One For Sorrow (Isabel Fielding Series Book 1) by Sarah A. Denzil <— PSYCH THRILLER ALERT!! Kat enjoyed it!

  • Glimmer by Ashley Munoz <— LIVE!! SINGLE FATHER/BIKER ALERT!! “…Then I met him. A single father, alleged MC member, and the worlds best mini pizza maker. I was playing with fire, and I should have known better than to assume I wouldn’t get burned. My goals, future, none of it mattered once his demons came to collect…”
  • If We Fly (What If Book 3) by Nina Lane <— LIVE!!! NINA LANE’S LATEST & it must be read in order…
  • Cabin 12 (Rock Point) by Freya Barker <— LIVE!!! HE’S ASKED TO TAKE CARE OF HIS SISTER… “…Jasper Greene, an FBI agent with the La Plata County field office, doesn’t even know the meaning of family. His team is his family, which is why–when his boss asks him to keep an eye on his baby sister–Jasper readily complies. Even when the sister in question is a spectacularly developed princess with plenty of attitude…”
  • Marry Me (Lyrics and Love Book 1) by Samantha Lind <— LIVE!! SHE’S GETTING MARRIED BUT STILL LOVE HIM… “…Sam was always my constant. My rock. My best friend. That feeling, the one I only got around him, had never been matched by another man. But Sam never showed me he felt anything more for me than friendship, so I moved on… Now, standing at the end of the aisle, ready to walk to my forever, my mind spins with what-ifs. Do I keep moving forward, knowing a man who loves me is at the end? Or do I risk it all, for the one man I’ve always wanted, and hope he wants me in return…”
  • The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Mackenzies Series Book 1) by Jennifer Ashley <— HISTORICAL ROMANCE & JAN IS reading and enjoying it!
Jan: …a very popular HR that I’m FINALLY getting around to reading: The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie by Jennifer Ashley. One of those everyone’s-read-it-except-me. It’s really good so far. The H is a hot Scot who seems to be somewhere on the Aspergers scale, and in the past was committed to an asylum for his supposed ‘madness’. Sounds like an unlikely premise for a HR, but it’s very well written and has been hugely popular.
  • From Ice To Flames (A West Brothers Novel) by <— LIVE!!! OMG THIS COVER MAKES MY HEART MELT!!! HER SEXY SINGLE FATHER NEIGHBOR VETERINARIAN RESCUED HER DOG “...It was hotter than sin Hudson who came to his rescue. Then it became impossible to ignore him. It was only supposed to be a fling, a quickie, a one and done. We both had reasons to keep it that way … my one rule and his five-year-old son. Except things didn’t quite work out that way…”
  • Hard Rock Kiss by Athena Wright <— LIVE!! ROCK STAR ALERT!!! “…From the minute we met, I knew there was something more to him. Every brush of his lips, every touch of his skin, makes my body, heart and soul sing. It’s not just physical. In those moments we share together, I know he cares for me. Just like I’m beginning to care for him. But there’s a secret I’m keeping from him. A secret that will change everything. A secret that could ruin his dreams, his future...”
  • Beautiful Lies (The Beautiful Series Book 2) by Emery Rose <— SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE ALERT!! “…Once upon a time, my foolish heart believed that my love would be strong enough to fix him. How very wrong I was. We soared to the greatest heights and crashed to the lowest depths together. Starting over wasn’t possible. Yet here he was, heart in hand, asking for another chance. Only a fool would agree. But when it comes to Connor, I’ve always been a fool…”
  • Brokenhearted by Bella Emy <— LIVE!!! INTRIGUING…?? “…Bruce, demands a divorce and she is left utterly brokenhearted. She’s completely devastated and fears she cannot go on. Then one day, a handsome stranger walks into her life–a stranger whom actually is more familiar to Emily than she realizes…
  • The Barefoot Wedding (Married in Malibu) by Bella Andre (writing as Lucy Kevin)
  • Secrets We Keep (Callaways Cousins #6) (Callaways #14) (Callaway Cousins) by Barbara Freethy
  • Body Check (Blades Hockey Book 4) by Maria Luis  <— LIVE!! HOCKEY STAR ALERT!! SHE’S HIS EX-WIFE!!! “…when the owners sell us out to Hollywood, suddenly we’re not just playing for thousands of fans, we’re cracking open our lives on a new reality show, Getting Pucked. They want all the dirty details, and I’d rather take a puck to the gonads than peel back the curtains on my life. Not when it could take me out of the game for good. I agree to sign the contract on one condition: they hire New England’s reigning queen of media to call the shots...”

Good morning–Happy Friday!

The Simply Wild BR starts today. Fingers crossed that it’ll be just the thing for Leslie’s reading hiccup!

Tasha J September 14, 2018 at 6:17 AM

Morning! I tell you, these nights have been rough lately. Somebody’s teething. I think I’ll read a book. Which to choose?

Leslie M September 14, 2018 at 6:33 AM

Tasha, come to Alaska with us and join in on The Simple Wild!

Hey Bev, I went to Russia with you…take a break from the k-drama and come to Alaska too!

Let’s make an igloo reading fort!! Maryse??? I know this is on your TBR.

Leslie M September 14, 2018 at 6:56 AM

Muse and From Ice to Flames are in a category I like to call “who the heck cares what this book is about, look at that cover”!!!!

Seriously…*fans self then clicks*

bev September 14, 2018 at 8:35 AM

I haven’t finished my last BR.

But…Ok.

Let’s go to Alaska.

I wont be able to leave until after work though.

Then from Alaska we will go to Korea in October.

So pack well.

Maryse September 14, 2018 at 9:26 AM

I’m going to Alaska with you guys. How can I resist a K.A. Tucker buddy read?

Tasha J September 14, 2018 at 9:29 AM

School was cancelled today *sigh*. So much for peace. I have some library books that are about to go back so I’m gonna see what I can do with 1.

Maryse September 14, 2018 at 10:21 AM

Oh bev, we will be busy “world-travelers”!!! :D Is the Korea trip the psych-thriller??

Leslie M September 14, 2018 at 12:18 PM

Yay!! Let’s bundle up for Alaskan trip.

I just started and only on chapter 3. Can’t wait to actually arrive in Alaska.

I think this is going to be an emotional read. Get Manny, tissues, blankies and chocolates ready.

Nay September 14, 2018 at 12:42 PM

I’ve been busy all morning, so I haven’t started yet. Probably won’t start for a couple more hours.

bev September 14, 2018 at 3:03 PM

Yes.

I hope I’m not spoiled too much, but I like both the lead actors so much.

R and Amy can drink Soju Bombs.

You can eat Korean barbecue . They wrap the meat in lettuce.
And the rest of us can have ramen.

R. Renee September 14, 2018 at 3:11 PM

I just googled it. I think I’ll have to pass, and for me, that’s saying a lot!

bev September 14, 2018 at 3:13 PM

What the book or soju bombs?

bev September 14, 2018 at 3:23 PM

Sharing because it makes me laugh. A compilation of BI the leader of Ikon saying “sexy” about everyone’s dances on the latest ep of Running Man.
Now I see that word and hear it in his voice. The way he says it just makes me laugh.

Kathy P. September 14, 2018 at 3:54 PM

Get out the manny and your tissues on this book read. Someone posted on this site that you will feel and the emotions and that is true!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Michele G September 14, 2018 at 4:15 PM

I’ve arrived in Alaska – - I think it’s gonna be a good one ladies! Come join! I can already see why everyone has raved over it!

Traci b. September 14, 2018 at 6:23 PM

Maryse,

I just finished Binding #13 by Chloe Walsh. I saw you had recommended it. It is like 4 books in one. It’s lengthy. The writing was excellent. I felt like I was in Ireland with Shannon and Johnny. I even enjoyed their friends and hope there is a book about Claire and Gibse. The only downfall is book two doesn’t come out until 11/29…Gahhh. I need more of Johnny and Shannon now. It wasn’t really too much of a cliff hanger though.

Jan September 14, 2018 at 6:51 PM

Traci yessss – doesn’t Binding 13 draw you in? I felt the same – you were there with them and everything that happened. Roll on November.

Maryse that’s another great list today. Thank you. And some beautiful covers. That Thing You’re Good At has a gorgeous and pretty cover. And yes, Leslie. From Ice To Flames. Yummy. I’m clicking a sample of that, and maybe I’ll try Playing For Love too.

I’m still reading The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie. It’s really good. Just that bit different too (in a good way). If you like HRs, it’s well worth your time.

bev September 14, 2018 at 7:56 PM

Ok, who is or will be going to Alaska?

Leslie M September 14, 2018 at 8:37 PM

Maryse, me, Nay, Melinda, and Michele G.

Maryse September 14, 2018 at 8:44 PM

Okay I’m digging in right now. A late start for me, but I’ve started. :)

bev September 14, 2018 at 8:47 PM

I’ll be starting soon-ish.

Leslie M September 14, 2018 at 8:49 PM
bev September 14, 2018 at 9:00 PM

I might visit, but will probably just hang at Maryse’s.

Nay September 14, 2018 at 9:50 PM

I also just arrived in Alaska. Enjoying it so far…

Leslie M September 15, 2018 at 6:15 AM

I am liking it too! I had one chapter that lagged and I was getting nervous…but all is good now. :)

MichelleS September 15, 2018 at 10:25 AM

Tell me more about Alaska. I might like Alaska.

MichelleS September 15, 2018 at 10:27 AM

I’m liking My Oxford Year. Only on Chapter six. The audiobook is intetesting. She’s doing British accents, and male voices. I kinda’ want to laugh, but I’m hanging in there!

bev September 15, 2018 at 10:38 AM

I am just about to start.

I was going to read last night but one of those my head hit my pillow and out nights.

MichelleS September 15, 2018 at 11:24 AM

Please share where in Alaska??? What book is this? You have me intrigued now!

R. Renee September 15, 2018 at 11:25 AM

They’re reading KA Tucker’s The Simple Wild.

Cheryl September 15, 2018 at 11:25 AM

Just catching up on this weeks comments. Was a crazy week for me.

First, Happy Belated birthday Amy!!!!!!!

Nay, glad all is going great post-transplant!!!

Finished Block Shot and now I think I’ll start the Aly Martinez duet.

First some chores around the house while listening to Hard Hitter. Loving the Hoopla freebies!!!!

bev September 15, 2018 at 11:36 AM

And then we are going to Korea.

Dont forget Korea.

bev September 15, 2018 at 12:14 PM

One thing the heroine’s dad has cancer. I didnt know before I started otherwise I probably wouldn’t have.

Amy September 15, 2018 at 1:02 PM

All y’all are hanging out in Alaska while I’m here on the trail of Sadie (yep, I went back to it), biting my nails and dreading the outcome. Seriously, it’s that good.

Fine. You guys freeze your pretty little a$$es offbin Alaska while I wait for you in Korea because I am ALL about those soju bombs. They remind me of the flaming Dr. Peppers I used to drink at clubs when I was young and could tolerate them. Well, for the most part. *snort* I’ll just munch on Korean BBQ while I wait. ;)

Amy September 15, 2018 at 1:03 PM

Offbin? What the fu… OFF in. *shakes head*

I just started crying in the car. Because Lost on You. And Tristan and Danika.

bev September 15, 2018 at 4:20 PM

At 61 %.

Amy if you try those drinks you’ll have to tell me what it taste like.

Tasha J September 15, 2018 at 5:43 PM

I wanted to read, but nobody will leave me alooooone. So, I’ve given up on my library read. 1057 pages. Ain’t NOBODY got time for that. I tried 2 more. Again, loneliness escapes me.

Jan September 15, 2018 at 6:24 PM

I don’t want to read a sad book at the moment. No particular reason, just not in the right mood. So I’m staying the heck away from Alaska.

I just read a cute retelling of Cinderella – Julia Quinn’s An Offer From A Gentleman. That’s more my speed at the moment LOL.

bev September 15, 2018 at 6:52 PM

88%

Yes, but what about Korea?
Do you feel like that?

Amy September 15, 2018 at 6:58 PM

Whatever the drinks taste like, I need one.

I just finished Sadie.

And now I’m in turmoil.

I’m not used to THAT sort of ending.

My heart is heavy.

So, now I need a drink.

Amy September 15, 2018 at 7:00 PM

By the way…Tessa, you’ll want to avoid this one, my friend.

Amy September 15, 2018 at 7:03 PM

bev, I’m curious about the taste of soju bombs. I love sake, and I really like beer.

For flaming Dr. Peppers, the bartender would light a shot of dark rum on fire then we would toss it in a mug of beer before jugging it all down at once. Tasted like Dr. Pepper. And f%&ked us up real quick.

Leslie M September 15, 2018 at 7:06 PM

Bev, are you speed reading?

Maryse, how is your Alaska journey going?

Michelle S, join us!

Amy, I can’t even tell you how many times a song has made me cry over fictional book characters. (They are so real to me!!!)

bev September 15, 2018 at 7:32 PM

No, I’m not a speed reader. But am having a VERY lazy day.
Plus, it’s an easy likable read.

Cheryl September 15, 2018 at 7:35 PM

Finally sitting down to read. Too many choices…

Beer and pizza first.

bev September 15, 2018 at 8:16 PM

And done.

Not in love with it but a solid read.

Jan September 15, 2018 at 8:17 PM

o_o Amy that flaming dr pepper sounds pretty scary. LOL.

bev I dunno. If Korea doesn’t make me feel sad, then maybe?

bev September 15, 2018 at 8:18 PM

Now I need to watch or listen to something happy.

Umm… I dont know, Jan. I have a lot of picks that wouldn’t but that one is up in the air.

Jan September 15, 2018 at 8:22 PM

bev have you ever seen the South Korean film, A Frozen Flower? It’s amazing. I saw it on TV here a while ago with English subtitles. Loosely based on historical events. An epic love story, beautifully filmed. Very poignant ending. There is also a mm romance in there as well as the main mf romance. It is a wonderful film.

Jan September 15, 2018 at 8:23 PM

But it is very sad :( so maybe not what you want to watch right now! Have you seen the movie Crazy Rich Asians yet? That might be more upbeat.

R. Renee September 15, 2018 at 8:25 PM

A friend and I made Flaming DP’s in May to test out for a Boozy Friday post in my group. Oh lawd. *shivers* Never again.

bev September 15, 2018 at 9:14 PM

Definitely no sad movies right now.

Maryse September 15, 2018 at 9:22 PM

Meh. I just watched Hereditary which I was DYING to watch and could finally rent on Vudu.

Meh.

Such GREAT reviews and everyone loves it on Rotten Tomatoes and YES there are some extremely memorable/shocking scenes, but overall.. meh.

Interesting creepy story and ending but all in all? Well you know. ;)

*sigh*

Maryse September 15, 2018 at 9:29 PM

I’m loving the Alaska read and continuing as we speak. This author has an incredible way of telling a story. She’s totally pro.

Nay September 15, 2018 at 9:34 PM

I’ve left Alaska. The story was powerful, just not at all what I was expecting. Hit a little close to home for me, another thing I wasn’t expecting, but I still enjoyed it 4 stars worth, I especially loved the last few chapters as far as the feelings they stirred in me.

Leslie M September 15, 2018 at 10:15 PM

I’ve returned from my Alaska trip as well. It was a “like” not “love” for me.

3.75 ***

Nowhere near as good as Until it Fades.

JR September 15, 2018 at 10:26 PM

I read Muse by Katy Evans today. It was a quick cute story. I think I might try A Place in the Sun next.

I also went to see A Simple Favor at the movies. I liked it but it was a bit odd. Anyone see it yet?

Leslie M September 15, 2018 at 11:29 PM

JR, I’d never heard of A Simple Favor movie…looked it up and it does sound odd! I am happy to hear you liked Muse as I want to try that one.

bev September 16, 2018 at 8:00 AM

Good Morning.
I think that book left me more drained than I thought.

Amy September 16, 2018 at 9:18 AM

bev, I know the feeling. But for me it’s because it was tough subject matter, and I’m still trying to process the ending. Too bad hair o’the dog doesn’t work with books, right? *snort*

Kathy P…if you swing back by, what book were you talking about up there? Some of us are always on the prowl for the next Manny book! ;)

Leslie M September 16, 2018 at 9:18 AM

Bev, The Simple Wild?

bev September 16, 2018 at 9:40 AM

Yes.

Like Nay the ending touched close to home. I know for some it can be a release, but to me it often times brings that grief back up.

Cheryl September 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM

Ok, the more comments I read about The Simple Wild, the more I am convinced it’s a nope for me.

I feel like deviating from my tbr list.
The 2 that I keep thinking of are Ghosted and Until it Fades.
But which one??

Leslie M September 16, 2018 at 2:43 PM

I loved both Ghosted and Until it Fades but they are quite different. Only similarity is both h’s are single moms.

Ghosted is an angsty 2nd chance romance with flashbacks via a journal. I love flashbacks, but some are bothered by them. The H is a celeb and recovering addict.

Until it Fades is slow burn (but not boring) with hockey player H. Not as angsty as Ghosted.

Ghosted was awesome! And it’s about a superhero!!

Amy September 16, 2018 at 5:29 PM

bev.

Asking us to choose between Ghosted and Until It Fades is like asking us which of our children is our favorite.

We. Just. Can’t.

I say toss a coin because they are BOTH 5-star reads, just with the differences Leslie highlighted up there. You can’t go wrong with either one. :D

I made it 5% into Rising (Vincent and Eve series) before I threw in the towel and labeled it a DNF.

Yep…5%.

*shrug* What are you gonna do, right?

bev September 16, 2018 at 5:34 PM

Watch a k drama.

Amy September 16, 2018 at 5:37 PM

LOL!!

bev September 16, 2018 at 5:38 PM

OMG.
How much have I changed? I didnt say “fill in the book title.”

What is the last one I tried to push in Amy?
Simon?

Amy September 16, 2018 at 5:47 PM

I could take that last sentence and just run with it… :P

R. Renee September 16, 2018 at 5:56 PM

GHOSTED. You’re welcome.

bev September 16, 2018 at 6:05 PM

Mic drop.

Just finished “The Truth About Lies” and although it started out as a slow read for me it turned out to be one of my favorites this year, definitely 5 stars for me! I’m immediately jumping into the second book as I need answers.

You guys have me scared about going to Alaska. I get the feeling from comments it might hit too close to home for me too

Maryse September 16, 2018 at 6:37 PM

I just wanna say… The Simple Wild < --- I am still loving it, and it's one of those books that you read with a sweet smile on your face. How I love this author, and her way with dialogue and introspection. It's all so... real.

Maybe she’s my new favorite.

Okay… back to my book.

Bev, I vote Ghosted. I was in the minority with Until It Fades.

Think I’m starting the Truth About Lies.

bev September 16, 2018 at 8:55 PM

Ghosted it will be.
Though right now I’m watching stuffs.

Amy September 16, 2018 at 9:09 PM

Watching stuffs here as well.

Me Before You.

HUBBY pulled it up on Hulu.

It’s almost over.

Aaaaaaaaand I’m about to bawl again.

*sigh*

Amy September 16, 2018 at 9:20 PM

I can stand behind Ghosted. Either one of the two was going to be a good choice. ;)

Alright, I’m clicking The Simple Wild. All y’all have me sold.

bev, I would LOVE to try those scents. ‘Cause Hawaii. I want to move there SO badly. But…*sigh*…I have to consider if hubby would be happy in the job he would be in over there. :? I’m totally bookmarking that page though!

And why is everything italicized right now? *scratches head*

bev September 16, 2018 at 9:35 PM

Because Maryse likes it fancy.

Why does it not surprise me that you get over a hard book by watching a sad movie….and then reading a sad book? Lol.

Meanwhile my stuffs is composed of a couple eps of the new Meteor Garden and clips of Knowing Brothers and this video

The one on the rotary phone? Kind of loving his vocals right now.

Also, about to press play on The Liar and his Lover, the Japanese movie.

JR September 16, 2018 at 9:36 PM

I loved Ghosted! I haven’t read Until It Fades. Maybe I need to move it up my list.

I read The Contract today. It was yesterday’s daily special. I liked it. I one clicked The Wild Heir after I saw Maryse post about it on sale on Facebook. Maybe I’ll read ur next.

Amy September 16, 2018 at 10:05 PM

Actually, it was HUBBY who turned it on. I was just sitting and reading/playing on my iPad/answering emails and he pulls it up on Hulu because he was thinking about it and wanted to watch it. I heard it, looked up, looked over at him, and he just shrugged and grinned. I swear, that guy of mine…

JR…yes, you need to move it up! It’s SOOOOOO freaking great!! :D
