Theresa: Reading Keep Her Safe by K A Tucker of course. I don’t want it to end but can’t read fast enough. It has so many twists and secrets. I can’t think of a thing that the book does not have in it for a perfect read. You must read every word or you might miss an important word or clue so slow read for me. I have been impatiently waiting for Simple Wild so must get this finished. Ahhh, too many books so little time lol.

Jan: …a very popular HR that I’m FINALLY getting around to reading: The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie by Jennifer Ashley. One of those everyone’s-read-it-except-me. It’s really good so far. The H is a hot Scot who seems to be somewhere on the Aspergers scale, and in the past was committed to an asylum for his supposed ‘madness’. Sounds like an unlikely premise for a HR, but it’s very well written and has been hugely popular.

I just finished Binding #13 by Chloe Walsh. I saw you had recommended it. It is like 4 books in one. It’s lengthy. The writing was excellent. I felt like I was in Ireland with Shannon and Johnny. I even enjoyed their friends and hope there is a book about Claire and Gibse. The only downfall is book two doesn’t come out until 11/29…Gahhh. I need more of Johnny and Shannon now. It wasn’t really too much of a cliff hanger though.

I’m loving the Alaska read and continuing as we speak. This author has an incredible way of telling a story. She’s totally pro.
No, I’m not a speed reader. But am having a VERY lazy day.
Plus, it’s an easy likable read.

bev have you ever seen the South Korean film, A Frozen Flower? It’s amazing. I saw it on TV here a while ago with English subtitles. Loosely based on historical events. An epic love story, beautifully filmed. Very poignant ending. There is also a mm romance in there as well as the main mf romance. It is a wonderful film.
But it is very sad 🙁 so maybe not what you want to watch right now! Have you seen the movie Crazy Rich Asians yet? That might be more upbeat.
A friend and I made Flaming DP’s in May to test out for a Boozy Friday post in my group. Oh lawd. *shivers* Never again.

Meh. I just watched Hereditary which I was DYING to watch and could finally rent on Vudu.

Such GREAT reviews and everyone loves it on Rotten Tomatoes and YES there are some extremely memorable/shocking scenes, but overall.. meh.

I’ve left Alaska. The story was powerful, just not at all what I was expecting. Hit a little close to home for me, another thing I wasn’t expecting, but I still enjoyed it 4 stars worth, I especially loved the last few chapters as far as the feelings they stirred in me.
I’ve returned from my Alaska trip as well. It was a “like” not “love” for me.

I read Muse by Katy Evans today. It was a quick cute story. I think I might try A Place in the Sun next.
I also went to see A Simple Favor at the movies. I liked it but it was a bit odd. Anyone see it yet?

Like Nay the ending touched close to home. I know for some it can be a release, but to me it often times brings that grief back up.
Ok, the more comments I read about The Simple Wild, the more I am convinced it’s a nope for me.
I feel like deviating from my tbr list.
The 2 that I keep thinking of are Ghosted and Until it Fades.
But which one??
I loved both Ghosted and Until it Fades but they are quite different. Only similarity is both h’s are single moms.
Ghosted is an angsty 2nd chance romance with flashbacks via a journal. I love flashbacks, but some are bothered by them. The H is a celeb and recovering addict.
Until it Fades is slow burn (but not boring) with hockey player H. Not as angsty as Ghosted.
Ghosted was awesome! And it’s about a superhero!!

I say toss a coin because they are BOTH 5-star reads, just with the differences Leslie highlighted up there. You can’t go wrong with either one. 😀

I just wanna say… The Simple Wild <--- I am still loving it, and it's one of those books that you read with a sweet smile on your face. How I love this author, and her way with dialogue and introspection. It's all so... real.

Just finished “The Truth About Lies” and although it started out as a slow read for me it turned out to be one of my favorites this year, definitely 5 stars for me! I’m immediately jumping into the second book as I need answers.
