I’ve received the exclusive right to break the news that The Dark Duet Series by CJ Roberts has been optioned by two Los Angeles based producers for a new TV Series!!
More news as it develops, but here’s a short Q&A with CJ Roberts:
Why a TV series and not a film?
There’s a lot to Caleb and Livvie’s story and in a way, it was very episodic and would lend itself well to a television series’ format. Additionally, the producers saw the potential of expanding the world and characters from the books and felt there were so many storylines and secondary characters to explore and expand upon that a movie just wouldn’t do justice to the books.
When and where will the TV show air?
Right now the producers are developing the series and crafting the blueprint for the first season. When that is done, they will begin the process of pitching the series to broadcast and cable networks, as well as emerging distribution platforms such as Netflix and Amazon. There is no timeline for when the show would air, but everyone is committed to making sure we craft the best possible story and one that audiences, including the fans of the book, will want to tune in weekly to see.
How involved will you be?
Well, I’m certainly not a television development executive! However, the producers have welcomed me into this process and are keen to have my input into the project. They are very conscientious of staying true to the heart of Caleb and Livvie’s story and making sure that the fans will be satisfied with their beloved characters’ transition from page to screen.
Who will play Caleb and Livvie?
It’s a little early for that, but I’m excited for that part of the process! Who do you see playing them?”
