Happy Christmas Eve!! Has anyone started exchanging gifts tonight? I remember when I was little, on Christmas Eve, before bedtime, my parents would always allow me to open ONE gift from under the tree. I usually picked the big one. 😉 You know that one… that teased you for weeks. One time, it was a Cabbage Patch Kid, and I swear I didn’t sleep at all that night, I was so excited. Not one wink. I couldn’t BELIEVE IT!!! Ahhhh the fun memories.

Since I’ve become a mom, all Christmas memories are pretty awesome. My big guy is 13 now, and he is Autistic, so every Christmas is somewhat different in our house. This year, he asked for chickens, ducks, a puppy, and “office in my room” Well, the puppy was picked up today, and Santa just delivered the office furniture, and new printer. Oh, and we burnt the cookies today…LOL 🙂 Merry Christmas!

I remember one of my most favorite Christmas’s was when my daughter was 3mos old and we had more presents under the tree than a 3mos old needed!! We were so excited she was here that we wrapped everything individually and she couldn’t even open one present!! Hilarious to look at the pictures now!

Here’s a memory for ya! All I wanted for Christmas when I was 7 yrs old was…wait for it…a Dolly Parton doll with a sparkly jumpsuit! I am so not kidding! I did NOT get that doll that year but did get a big head doll with Dolly Parton clothes! No they did not fit in certain areas!! But, 2yrs ago, my sweet Mom and little bro surprised me with my Dolly Parton doll!! It took me 23 yrs to get her but she is fabulous!! Rock on Maryse and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
My favorite Christmas memory is when my kids come downstairs and see Santa has taken big bites out of all the cookies and drunk all the milk! They get such a kick out of it. As a kid, I like to track his route on the news.

My ist greatest Christmas was when I was 5 years old..truthfully, I really don’t remember Christmas before that…it was the 1st Christmas in the new house…Santa came down every street..knocked on every door..gave all the kids candy and coloring books & crayons… know all I wanted was a tea set..Christmas morning was amazing…dolls, games, oh, the grandest tea set but to top it all was this huge round table & chairs , it was a sweet Christmas and I remember Mama(GHod rest her soul) and Daddy just smilining away as happy as my brother and I were…btw he received his 1st drum kit..he drove us nuts for years..lol…Kindle please..Merry Christmas, Maryse !!

My fav memory is of Christmas 10 – 11 years ago. My family was out for Christmas dinner and we came across an abandoned kitten crying so loudy in the rain 🙁 She was all drenched and shivering… We brought her home and took her in. She was really sweet and slept under the Christmas tree because it was warm (due to the Christmas lights). Her name is Missy and she’s the family’s fav cat and we love her!

my favorite memory was when my mom and dad got my first cell phone for xmas and they had made it where i had to open i would say at least 15 boxes and then when i got to the final box it had a number and it took me about 10 min to realize i was supposed to call it and then i had to follow the ringtone LOL!!!

****I *did* win a gift card already, so you don’t have to enter me in this one, BUT, I wanted to share my best and funniest Christmas memory (at least, in recent years) with you. I still laugh and grin like an idiot when I think of it and get the picture in my head;-)
My most memorable Christmas was three years ago when my new kitten went missing out of the blue. She was right beside me one second and gone the next. I couldn’t find her anywhere in the house, and she didn’t reappear from some mysterious cat otherworld. And then….I heard it. Rustle, rustle. Mew, mew, mew. Hmmm. Odd. It would appear that my fancy new Christmas tree is meowing! I walk up to it, stand there a minute, and suddenly out pops the face of my beloved Cleo;) Pulled her out of that tree at least five times before I gave up and let her sleep in there. I unplugged it and eased the light cords away from her. She was safe….and ridiculously happy:) Three years later, and she’s just ever so slightly spoiled. LOL!!

My grandma was crying one year cuz she got a stove for Christmas (cuz thats just how she is) and it had a big bow on top. My little sister asks her “what’s the matter Grandma, did you want it wrapped?” HILARIOUS!!!

Merry Christmas! My favorite Christmas memory would involve anytime I got to be with all my family. For my husbands job we live far away from our families. Even though its nice to sit tight at home and be lazy and play with the kids it’s also fun to drive around to several different families and see them even though the driving is tiring.

Today is my birthday so pick me!!! Hehe I have a lot of fav Christmas memories, especially now that I have an adorable son, but today we made another special memory– we revealed the gender of our unborn baby by letting our parents open mystery gift boxes with either pink or blue contents. My favorite day of the year has always been Christmas Eve. My grandparents would throw a big party and I would feel like a little princess. Part of what I loved was that for dessert we would get an ice cream Santa. While there are no more big parties, my family does come over and I have kept the tradition alive with my niece. Merry Christmas! I have had so many wonderful memories….I think the best was Christmas 2008. My husband arrived home the afternoon of Christmas Eve from a 15 month deployment! That was a happy day and I can still see my teenage daughter jumping from the middle of the bleachers into her Daddy’s arms!!!

I love Christmas Eve ALMOST as much as I love Christmas day! We open one present on Christmas Eve too! My favorite Christmas memory was the year my sister’s and I wanted cabbage patch kids the we’re the year they came out very popular & were hard to get and Christmas morning we opened all our gifts….no cabbage patch kids. We cleaned up and my dad said ” hey what is in the driveway? ” we ran to the window and there was a Hugh white sack my dad went out and got it and told us that it must have fallen off Santa’s sleigh and it was filled with our cabbage patch dolls

To this day one of my mot ridiculous Christmas memories is when I was 8 years old and woke up before everyone else on Christmas. I counted all the gifts a realized my younger brother (by 4 yrs) had 6 more gifts than me. With no concept of monetary value I changed 3 of the tags on them to make sure we each got an even amount of gifts….after all I only wanted it to be fair 😉 I would have gotten away with it to, until I opened my last gift: a bat mobile. Not what a typical 8 yr old girl wants.
My mom still tells that story to every boyfriend I bring home; talk about embarrassing.

Favorite Christmas memory was about 6-7 years ago. My husband was a EMT at the time and worked a 10hr graveyard shift meaning he came home around 6 or 7 am. The kids waited til he came home to open presents and when they were done he asked “who’s ready to take off to go to San Diego?” It was Surprise and the kids loved it. It was also a 8 hr drive, but worth it to see the beach again on Christmas day.
My favorite Christmas was 4 years ago. It was the last Christmas I ever had with my dad. He passed away from lung cancer the following month.

My favorite Christmas memory was actually the day after Christmas when I was about 5. My mother told me and my sister (4 years old) that Santa had come again. We were so excited and ran to the tree and she told us she was only kidding. We cried for hours. Years later, my mother later said she was sorry she ever did that – she thought it would be funny. Not really funny when you are 4 and 5 lol.

My daughter was not quite 8 months old and we walked into the Christmas section of Walmart and her little mouth made a perfect O and her eyes got big. Then she smiled so big. My favorite Christmas memory is the year Inwanted a Razor scooter. I begged and begged my parents and they refused to get it for me because they thought it wasn’t safe. come Christmas morning we were finishing unwrapping gifts and magically one appeared for me. I opened the package up and started hysterically crying….it was the scooter!!!! That was the one and only year my parents surprised me good!

My best Christmas memory is from when I was 8. My parents had sent us to bed. I shared bunk beds with my younger brother and I had the top bunk. That year, our Christmas lights were up, but none of the red light worked. I was trying to fall asleep when all of the sudden, a red light went by my window. We lived at the end of a court with no close neighbors. I was also on the 3rd floor, facing the backyard. No cars would have made that light. I still say it was Rudolph. In fact, I know it was 🙂

When I was little, my family didn’t have a lot of extra, they had this phone service you could call and “santa” or a helper elf would read you a story. Well my parents couldn’t afford it but I remember on christmas eve my dad surprised me and told me santa was on the phone! He had called me. He read me a The Night Before Christmas and told me to be good, and that he loved me. I was 6 was the best thing ever to hear. Many years later my dad passed away the day after Christmas and of course when talking to my mother we brought up good memories. I mentioned this story as a favorite of mine, she laughed and told me that my dad had run next door and borrowed the neighbors phone and called the house then ran back next door after he told me I had a call to read to me.
I hope everyone has a chance to be loved like that.

I remember my brother and I being sooo excited and barely sleeping. Then when one of us would wake up then go get the other and rush to wake our parents up, so we could open presents. Now we both have kids and its fun watching them do it (we live together, he’s a single dad with two boys and I am a single mama with one daughter) and the kids do the same thing we did. My favorite Christmas memory is when my Dad bought my Mom a new car for Christmas complete with the whole nesting boxes hiding the keys and A big red bow on the car. Cliche probably but so much fun.

One year on Christmas we hosted my family about 20 people for breakfast, than hosted my husbands.family for dinner he has over 60. It.was a LONG day but it was really fun too.

Merry Christmas. My favorite Christmas morning memory was when I was about five or six. I woke up very early and went out to our living room. Santa had brought me a whole kitchen set, sink, oven, refrigerator and dishes. It was the best ever. I even had some fake food. Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope your day is glorious.

When I was little we would put up the christmas tree but left it bare so that in addition to Santa bringing presents, he decorated the tree too! We would wake up to a beautiful tree and gifts! ( I don’t know where my parent’s had the energy!)

My fav memory was when we moved into a new house when I was in 1st grade. My parents went nuts that Christmas and I got 6 or 8 Barbies and all of their items like the car, kitchen, soda shop, etc. The Barbies seemed endless!

Best Christmas memory was this morning when my daughter yelled out at 3:54am, OMG, OMG he came mama he came! Talking about Santa of course, so sweet it made me cry!
