A WINNER HAS BEEN SELECTED!!! Congratulations Lisa!!! :D (make sure to check your email, because there are a few Lisas here). :)

Yep… so I’ve been talking about getting myself a Kindle Paperwhite. I LOVE my iPad, don’t get me wrong, but it does have a *few* drawbacks. Like when I’m reading outside, or in the car… and it’s sunny? Or too bright out? Well… I can barely see the screen. It’s just… uncomfortable reading and sometimes I just LOVE to read outside. On the beach, on a perfect spring day… or even next to a bright window.

That, and the fact that the iPad is a bit large and heavy, so carrying it around in one of *my purses* which tend to be small, doesn’t work well. And for the fact that if I wanna FaceTime with my mom in Canada for a few hours, I have to do it on a laptop, so I can have my iPad free, in case I feel like reading while she does her thing on the other end. That’s fine and all, but every time I want to move to a different area, I have to unhook the laptop, the mouse, and anything else plugged into it to carry it around. I’d rather just have HER on my iPad, and my books on an actual Kindle, and then we can “hang out” together anywhere I feel like being, and I can still read.

So there ya go. My reasons for needing a Kindle. And the fact that my fellow readers have convinced me to get one, well. I must!

Rebecca: I totally think you should grab that paperwhite, Maryse…I don’t think you will regret it. I read on it exclusively now- it is so much better than reading on a tablet. The light makes it the most perfect device…ever. I go nowhere without mine. :)

MichelleS: The paperwhite is my 5th Kindle, literally…. and it’s the one I use exclusively now. Easy to use. Manage collections. Read in bed. Just love it. it is FAR superior to the other kindles.

Maryse: Thank you guys!!! I’m getting one.

Shelly: I’ve been thinking about getting a Paperwhite also. I love my Fire HD, but it is harder to read with it outside & I’ve heard the Paperwhite is awesome for that. :)

Michelle F: Yes, Maryse, you should grab that Kindle Paperwhite while it’s on sale!  I do alot of camping and read outside alot and the Paperwhite is perfect.  Took it to Mexico for two weeks on vacation and read out on the beach for hours every day in the full sun.  No glare, no tilting it to avoid reflection.  It’s great!  I turn it to airplane mode when I’m away from home and don’t need the wi-fi so my battery lasts for days and days without recharging.

Yep! How can I resist? So… tell me why YOU would also need a Paperwhite and one lucky commenter here will get one, too!

Now for the Paperwhite Giveaway!

How to enter for a chance to win it? Just leave a comment (tell me why YOU would also need a Paperwhite), and by 10pm EST, Monday December 22nd 2014, I will randomly select ONE winner for a Kindle Paperwhite, 6″ High-Resolution Display (212 ppi) with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi – Includes Special Offers.

My kids are always outside, football practice and games, surfing lessons, softball…. You name it we do it. Reading with the iPad outside can be frustrating, so I’d love a paperwhite!

Tina December 21, 2014 at 5:22 PM

Love your blog! Merry Christmas!

Raechel December 21, 2014 at 5:30 PM

I LOVE reading EVERYWHERE…paperwhite would be awesome when reading in bright lights!

Becky Grover December 21, 2014 at 5:32 PM

Marcuse, i lve your blog!!! My kids are always wanting to use my ipad. If I had a kindle I wouldn’t have to share ;) . Becky Grover

amy December 21, 2014 at 5:32 PM

I use my phone to read currently, and it is such a nuisance not being able to read when I am outside. Thank you for the opportunity!

Becky Grover December 21, 2014 at 5:33 PM

Stupid autocorrect changed your name… Maryse.

Maryse December 21, 2014 at 5:38 PM

LOL Becky!!! ;)

Caitlin December 21, 2014 at 5:39 PM

I love to read outside too and hate the glare of the ipad!

Suzanne December 21, 2014 at 5:39 PM

I share an iPad with my husband and kids. I would love to be able to read whenever I want to!!! Great giveaway!

Carol December 21, 2014 at 5:41 PM

Same problem Maryse. I love reading in the car and glare is the biggest problem. About to make an 18 hr drive to Florida and am not looking forward to resolving the glare issues.

Anna December 21, 2014 at 5:41 PM

Reading is my favorite. I would love to do it on a paperwhite.

digal704 December 21, 2014 at 5:42 PM

My eyesight has gotten worse since a car accident a few years ago. Sometimes it is hard for me to read even with glasses on.

Camille Griffith December 21, 2014 at 5:45 PM

I need one so I can read while relaxing on the beach!!!

Missy December 21, 2014 at 5:47 PM

I currently read on my iPad but it’s too bulky to carry with me, so I read on my iPhone when I am away from home. One’s too big, one’s too small……the Paperwhite would be JUST RIGHT!!! I’d love to have a PROPER reading device with me at ALL times!! :D

Feifei December 21, 2014 at 5:48 PM

I have the same problems Maryse, plus I think my battery life drains faster than before so I have to charge it once (or even twice) a day. I love my iPad dearly (first e-reader device I ever got) but recently I have been thinking of getting either a Paperwhite or the Kindle Fire.

Thanks for the giveaway! :D

Kelsie Coonts December 21, 2014 at 5:51 PM

I would love to have a kindle because I would absolutely love to be able to support indie authors. From what I’ve learned, their main income is through eBook purchases. Also, I’m pregnant and its easier to carry a kindle to appointments to read in the waiting room than remembering to grab a book and trying to figure out which one I want to grab!

sarahd. December 21, 2014 at 5:52 PM

Would be prefect for
reading outside or in bed and then could give my old kindle to my son who has picked up my love of reading!!! :-)

Marcia December 21, 2014 at 5:52 PM

I would love to win a Kindle Paperwhite! I also have issues with reading on iPad. There have been many nights of getting face planted by my iPad while reading in bed. It’s just too big. I also feel eye strain when reading for a few hours.

Kathy Phelan December 21, 2014 at 5:56 PM

Please take pity on me! My iPad is allergic to my Kindle App! Have had to delete app and in process it lost many of my books that were loaded:( Wishing you and your hubby a wonderful holiday and a joyous 2015!

Kelli Dunaway December 21, 2014 at 5:57 PM

I would LOVE a kindle paperwhite! I live in Florida and love to read on the beach, which can be hard to do on your phone because of the glare! Also my kids have one so shouldn’t I? Lol

Amy P. December 21, 2014 at 5:57 PM

I read using the Kindle app on my tablet. I love the idea of the Paperwhite in that you can read without the glare, but can still read in bed at night in the dark. The best of both worlds!

Tracie December 21, 2014 at 6:00 PM

I think I should win the paper white because 12/22 is my birthday and we have the exact same taste in books! :)

Jordan December 21, 2014 at 6:00 PM

I am currently reading on my phone, my nook bit the dust and my daughter got sick of letting me use her iPad, haha. I read EVERYWHERE!! In the car (obviously not when I’m driving), at the kids games, at home, the dog park, you get the picture!! Would love to have one and I’m sure my husband would too so I quit ignoring his calls so I can finish a chapter on my phone:)

Melody Salvatore December 21, 2014 at 6:05 PM

First off….live your blog, it’s how I find all my “next” book to read. I would love a paper white because I read at lunch on break and more than anything would love to be able to read by the pool! I’m usually reading on my phone. ⛄️

Angle December 21, 2014 at 6:06 PM

Love your blog Maryse! Always a go to! I would use a Paperwhite to escape from the madness of a house full of boys! #thestruggleisreal

Jennifer December 21, 2014 at 6:06 PM

Because I’m terrified my kids may figure out this Could better than me and read some of my books that you know I don’t want them to see!!!!!

Lori December 21, 2014 at 6:07 PM

I need a Kindle Paperwhite because I read on my phone (too small) or on my iPad which is a 1st generation and often won’t load or turn the pages of the books once it’s loaded.

Samantha Martin December 21, 2014 at 6:07 PM

This was at the top of my wish list for xmas. Unfortunately, I know I’m not getting it. I NEED this. My current kindle had a big ol scratch going down the center of the screen AND i often wake up in the middle of the night. Reading puts me back to sleep but i can’t do it bc I’d have to turn the light on. Helllllllppppp! And my birthday is coming up (12/30)!

Judie December 21, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Hi Maryse,
Well, I feel a little selfish here because I currently do read on a Kindle – the very first one they came out with. I love it – don’t get me wrong – but was actually thinking of upgrading and saw your blog and thought – “hey, maybe I could WIN one and not bother my husband about the upgrade thing and how much better a new Kindle would be thing and how a new Paperwhite would shut me up” :)
I Love Your Blog and You are My Go-To Person for What To Read Next – Thank you! (that’s not a kiss-up, but a fact :) )

donna tanner December 21, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Maryse you are awesome!

Jillian Phillips December 21, 2014 at 6:13 PM

I’d love a Kindle paper white! My toddler commandeered my okd Kindle so now I read solely on my phone until I can replace it! Thank you for the giveaway, Maryse!

Summer December 21, 2014 at 6:19 PM

i would love this for outside. I am always outside with my kiddos for sports and swimming. This would be great to have for those occasions!!

Alyssa December 21, 2014 at 6:21 PM

I’d love one for my mother. She has loved her Kindle fire so much it won’t keep a charge well anymore. She could really use the Paperwhite to read in between her four grandsons’ baseball games. She often spends all day going to and waiting to watch their games and this would be perfect.

Kate December 21, 2014 at 6:23 PM

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas last year. I gave my Paperwhite to my sister thinking the Fire would be way better. Wrong!! Here comes spring and I couldn’t sit on the porch or hammock and read! Which is my all time favorite outside activity! I would love to win a Paperwhite and pass on the Fire to someone else! Your blog is my favorite. We have so many of the same favorites! Merry Christmas :)

Julie December 21, 2014 at 6:26 PM

I would love to give a kindle paper white to my sister for Christmas if I win. She reads on her tiny phone and it has cracks in it. Thanks for the chance Maryse!

Allison December 21, 2014 at 6:29 PM

I NEED a paper white cause my kindle is a senior citizen and I fear any day could be her last! Also did I mention I love you!! Lol! Thanks for the all book info you bring and for this opportunity!! Merry Christmas!!

Jen G December 21, 2014 at 6:34 PM

I LOVE to read outside and have to cover my head and iPad with a towel to avoid the glare. would LOVE a new paperwhite!!!!!

Cherrish December 21, 2014 at 6:36 PM

I love reading and have to use my laptop. I would love a paper white so I could take it anywhere, and not have to worry about having internet access to do so. I love your blog and read it daily. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help pick out great books!!

Patty December 21, 2014 at 6:38 PM

I would love a kindle paper white, my hubby bought me a kindle 3 years ago. It was the best gift ever. But as you said I can’t read it outside and he complains when I use it at night in bed or in the car when he’s driving. I never win these things but I appreciate the chance. Regardless the outcome have a wonderful and safe Holiday season…READ ON. (Fist pump in the air)

Melanie Simmons (@mlsimmons) December 21, 2014 at 6:40 PM

I would give it to my Mother in Law as a belated Christmas present. Her Kindle is on it’s last leg.

Kristin December 21, 2014 at 6:40 PM

I need a Kindle Paperwhite because reading on my phone is ruining my eyes!!! Thanks for all the great book reviews and series order!

Brenae December 21, 2014 at 6:41 PM

Looking at the Paper White cause my kindle keyboard is on its last leg!! Hubby told me it was the best and worst gift he ever gave me. Best cause I use it Every frecking day and Worst cause I use it Every Frecking Day!! lol

P. King December 21, 2014 at 6:41 PM

Hi Maryse: I need a Kindle Paperwhite so I can read my books at the grandies ball games. Not during actual playing of games but before during the practice time. I like you have a hard time seeing my iPad in the bright daytime light. Not only that but it would be a lot lighter to carry.

Shirley December 21, 2014 at 6:43 PM

I would love to have a Kindle Paperwhite so I could read in bed and also on the beach!! Merry Christmas!!

Dani December 21, 2014 at 6:43 PM

I would LOVE love LOVE a paperwhite. I read at least 4 books a week! Thank you for this contest!

Claudia Flores December 21, 2014 at 6:46 PM

I love to read outside. Thank you :-)

Catherine December 21, 2014 at 6:48 PM

If I’m not playing with my kiddos I’m reading. I’ve gone through two of the original kindles(kids seem to break everything lol). I have to read on my kindle app on my phone at night because my doesn’t light up. With that said, it would be awesome to have a kindle paper white!!

heather carmody December 21, 2014 at 6:51 PM

thank you for the awesome contest! I would love to able to read outside – I have never had a kindle.

Beverly A. December 21, 2014 at 6:52 PM

I need one because my sister stole my Kindle Fire, and I am now stuck having to read books on my laptop. :(

Lyndsey December 21, 2014 at 6:52 PM

I love to read but my kids are always stealing my iPad!

Shelly December 21, 2014 at 6:53 PM

I love to read!!! A Kindle Paperwhite would be a wonderful way for me to do what I love everywhere, inside or outside! Merry Christmas!!

Heather L December 21, 2014 at 6:54 PM

I need one to read in the long wait of carline to pick up my kids every day! The ipad isn’t cutting it with the bright winter sun!

Alyssa West December 21, 2014 at 6:54 PM

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win this Maryse! I’d love to win this because I love to read 24/7 wherever I am and I’ve never had anything but my phone to read my books on! The Paperwhite would be so much more convenient and better on my eyes than constantly having to read on my cell!

PS: Merry Christmas! xoxo

Gina December 21, 2014 at 6:54 PM

I need a kindle paper white so I can give it to my 22 year old daughter who is always stealing mine!

Trisha N December 21, 2014 at 6:56 PM

I read on my phone and would love the paperwhite. It would be easier to read while watching my son play soccer.

AngieG December 21, 2014 at 7:07 PM

I need a Paperwhite for the same reasons as you. I read on my KIndle Fire, but it just doesn’t cut it when I’m by any light. I’ve wanted a Paperwhite for a long time….thanks for the chance to win!

jennifer k December 21, 2014 at 7:22 PM

I have heard so much about the paperwhite. I am super curious. I would love to try one and see what all the fuss is about. What a wonderful and generous gift. I am sure one lucky reader will be very happy!

Melissa D. December 21, 2014 at 7:22 PM

2 hrs every day in my kid’s school car line :(

Suzanne Keller December 21, 2014 at 7:25 PM

Merry Christmas, I would love to win since my daughter took over my kindle, my reading has been limited I would love to have my own again.

Nicole December 21, 2014 at 7:27 PM

It would be easier to read outside with a paperwhite

Toni December 21, 2014 at 7:27 PM

Yay! Merry Christmas, Maryse!

Toni December 21, 2014 at 7:30 PM

I would love to be able to sit in the warm sunshine and still be able to read! I live in cold and windy Wyoming! Brr….

Melanie King December 21, 2014 at 7:30 PM

How kind of you to share the Christmas spirit:) I have wanted a Paperwhite for the same reason you want one, to read outside. I would especially love a Paperwhite now because I have been reading on my phone since my Kindle disappeared. I am in deep mourning over this loss.

Dawn Dalrymple December 21, 2014 at 7:32 PM

Would love paperwhite kindle. I have Nook color and Kindle HD and neither one work for road trips or sitting outside. BTW riding Roam Book 1 and loving it!! Will be staying up late to finish this one!

Susan December 21, 2014 at 7:36 PM

I love to read at night in bed and the Paperwhite would enable me to read with a softer light then my iPad. My husband hates that glaring light on the iPad when he’s trying to fall asleep. Thanks!

Tammie Majkrzak December 21, 2014 at 7:38 PM

Would love this. I had kindle and then was given an iPad so I thought I would give the kindle to my husband, as he was reading books on his little phone. Like you said, I don’t mind the iPad for reading but I have found I’m reading less because it strains my eyes more. I don’t have the heart to say anything because I know my hubby would just give me the kindle back and he is really enjoying it.

MichelleS December 21, 2014 at 7:39 PM

I want one to give to my 75 year old daddy who is obsessed with reading, like me, but had eye surgery recently… Needs the lit up screen & big print! BTW, he’s the coolest dad ever… Read all of KA & 50 Shades & BDB! I kid you not!

Kim Stinka December 21, 2014 at 7:45 PM

I have been following you for sometime, me with my Kobo E reader. I notice Amazon tends to have better selection/prices, so, Pick me. Me and a Kindle would get along just fine!

Linda December 21, 2014 at 7:52 PM

Hi Maryse and Merry Christmas to everyone!! Would love a paperwhite. Sounds like it is very travel friendly!! That would be perfect. Xoxo

Brandy December 21, 2014 at 7:55 PM

I have the same problem I like to read outside! You can not do that with an iPad or iPhone!

Jamie December 21, 2014 at 7:57 PM

I love to read and do it on my little iPhone! Not easy!!!

sharin December 21, 2014 at 8:10 PM

That’s very generous of you! I agree about the pros and cons of the iPad vs the PaperWhite. Happy Holidays Maryse!

Cindy Alexander December 21, 2014 at 8:18 PM

To finally read glare free!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Kelly December 21, 2014 at 8:19 PM

I had an iPad but dropped and broke it, so I started using my phone to read but it is so small. So I really need a paper white and I already spent all my Christmas money ugh Help.

Lisa December 21, 2014 at 8:29 PM

My kids broke my kindle :, (

Shamika December 21, 2014 at 8:30 PM

I want to read glare free also and a new Kindle is always fun. Thanks for the opportunity!!!

Susie M December 21, 2014 at 8:31 PM

I would love one for my daughter. She is an avid reader (like her Mother) but unable to take her iPad to school. She would absolutely love one and I would love to buy her all digital books!

Mimi December 21, 2014 at 8:39 PM

I would love to give one to my mom for Christmas!

Alisha December 21, 2014 at 8:42 PM

I too read on my iPad and must agree. Although I enjoy it for reading at home, it isn’t the most practical for reading elsewhere! Sadly I don’t get as much reading time as I would like, perhaps being able to take the Kindle with me to work or just in the go would increase my reading time :) because let’s face it, anytime is a good time to read!

Malisa December 21, 2014 at 8:43 PM

I teach first grade, so I love to sit by the pool in the summer and read during my break! Happy Holidays!

Donna December 21, 2014 at 8:43 PM

I love to read by the pool so the Kindle paperwhite would be awesome! Thanks Maryse!

whitney December 21, 2014 at 8:45 PM

I love reading on my tablet but it makes reading outside extremely difficult!!! Reading without a glare would be amazing! Merry Christmas Maryse!

Jennifer W December 21, 2014 at 8:45 PM

I would love to win the Kindle. My son plays travel baseball and we spend LOTS of time outside. It makes trying to keep up with my reading very difficult! Thank you for the opportunity and Merry Christmas to all. Happy Reading….

Lynn December 21, 2014 at 8:47 PM

Hi Maryse, I have a few good reasons I neeeeed a kindle…. 1. My birthday is Tuesday and a kindle would be awesome 2. My 14 yr old son has been grounded from his ipad for 2 months because of his grades and it looks like he will be getting it back because his grades are almost back to A’s &B’s. This sucks because I’ve been reading on his iPad instead of my iphone (don’t judge me, the screen is bigger)!!! And 3. because I work 16 hr shifts as a nurse and we can’t use our phones but nothing was said about kindles

Carie December 21, 2014 at 8:47 PM

The glare on the iPad is so bad–the Paperwhite would be awesome to have!!

Lesley pierce December 21, 2014 at 8:48 PM

Maryse, much like you, I love my iPad but find that carrying it around and finding purses large enough to hold it is a problem. I also love reading on the beach and while camping but it’s nearly impossible with the glare. I had the same problem with a Sony reader. Maybe the papewhite will be the solution.
Happy holidays

Taylor P December 21, 2014 at 8:48 PM

It would be great to use the Kindle when traveling. My husband likes to drive, so I read when we take trips. Repositioning the sun visor and wiggling around trying to shade my ipad isn’t much fun.

Jacqueline December 21, 2014 at 8:48 PM

Hi Maryse!
Awesome giveaway. I would love the Paperwhite so my boyfriend isn’t bothered by my late night reading. The books you recommend can keep me up into the wee hours of the night! Happy holidays!

April December 21, 2014 at 8:48 PM

My 8-year-old daughter and I share a tablet. Imagine the horror of her seeing some of the book covers after going down your recommendations of what to read after Fifty Shades. I’m in constant fear that she’ll click on Gabriel’s Inferno instead of Judy Moody! Help! (Smile)

Thanks for the consideration, thanks for being so awesome of doing a giveaway and good luck everyone!

Lisa December 21, 2014 at 8:53 PM

Love your blog Maryse and having a paper white would just give me another excuse to read more of your recommended books!!

Molly December 21, 2014 at 8:53 PM

I’d love a Paperwhite. I hear the screen is great and it would be so much lighter than the iPad! Thanks for the chance.

Tina December 21, 2014 at 9:01 PM

An iPad is just too much to carry around. I wouldn’t have to carry two handbags, if I win.

Dayna December 21, 2014 at 9:06 PM

I love to read and always like to have a “book” on me if I am away for work or waiting to pick my kids up. The iPad is great but definitely too big to carry on a regular basis!

Karen December 21, 2014 at 9:07 PM

This would help save my vision!!! I read all the time on my phone but a bigger screen would be awesome !!! :)

Erin M December 21, 2014 at 9:07 PM

I love reading outside!! And you keep saying how cool it is…lol
Happy Holidays!!!!

Kate December 21, 2014 at 9:14 PM

Me, me, me, please. I want to read inside, outside and maybe upside down .

DeAnna December 21, 2014 at 9:17 PM

Sunny days and iPads do NOT go together like rama lama ding dong.

Emily December 21, 2014 at 9:38 PM

I would love a paperwhite. I don’t currently have any kind of tablet or ereader, I do all of my reading on my iphone! :/

Dinah December 21, 2014 at 9:38 PM

I love reading outside and it would fit in my purse!

Heather December 21, 2014 at 9:38 PM

Would love to be able to read outside without the glare. Love to read outside.

Kristal Amos December 21, 2014 at 9:38 PM

I want a paperwhite for similar reasons as you, I love to read outside (mainly at the pool in the summer) and reading on my iPad is difficult! It is also, big, bulky and heavy!

Debbie December 21, 2014 at 9:45 PM

I have a very old kindle (which I can’t find the charger but hopefully will soon) so I read primarily on my ipad. I love my kindle for outdoors and in sunny situations but if I won this one I would give it to my mother in law! She is an avid reader and is going on a vacation to Florida in a few months and I don’t see how she can survive without a kindle at the pool! Love your blog!

Debbie December 21, 2014 at 9:46 PM

Edit: I had a typo in my email address last time – 01 is the correct one! (This one)

Kathy Richards December 21, 2014 at 9:57 PM

My reasons are the same as yours! I love reading outside and it’s so hard on my iPad mini. I spend a lot of time outside with my kids and their activities so a paperwhite would be awesome. Merry Christmas!!

Yolanda December 21, 2014 at 10:08 PM

I would love a paperwhite, I have an iPad mini and even though I love it reading outside with it stinks.

Jana December 21, 2014 at 10:10 PM

Hi Maryse,

I would you the paper white bc like you I have an iPad. I read all your reasons for wanted the kindle and I agree with all of them. And besides that, you wouldn’t want me to struggle to read your blog everyday right? Pick me!!! Keep up w/ the great work! I love reading your blog :)

bn100 December 21, 2014 at 10:25 PM

so I can read outside

Jennifer December 21, 2014 at 10:31 PM

I need something better to read on while at the gym…the iPad is a bit heavy and If I am on the bike or elliptical near the windows or under direct lighting the glare makes it harder to read…please!

jenn December 21, 2014 at 10:36 PM

I would love a kindle white.

Angela December 21, 2014 at 10:52 PM

I need a Kindle paper white because my Nook doesn’t get all the great authors!! I have to try and read my Amazon books on my laptop and let me tell you that doesn’t travel well……its also not very discrete when I’m “watching” my kid play soccer!!

Laura December 21, 2014 at 10:53 PM

Even with my glasses I’ve been having trouble reading books. Being able to adjust text size and the lighting with the Paperwhite would be very helpful.

Alex Carol December 21, 2014 at 10:54 PM

Ever since stumbling onto your blog, I’ve become addicted to reading. I recently move from NYC to FL and staying with family, needless to say, space is extremely limited. So, I had to pack up my books and leave them in storage for an undetermined period of time. This has really taken a toll on my reading habit. With a paperwhite I could finally have all my books and new ones at my finger tips!

Lisa December 21, 2014 at 11:02 PM

Hmmm. I’m not sure I NEED another kindle, but the new model help me when I read in bed. And not disturb husb.

KB December 21, 2014 at 11:12 PM

I would love a Paperwhite as a Christmas gift for my mom. She loves to read and has a very old Nook reader that doesn’t always work for her. I know she would love a Kindle! Happy holidays!!

Elaine December 21, 2014 at 11:25 PM

I also love my iPad but would love the additional flexibility a Kindle would offer, not to mention all the free titles I could read with a Kindle! Thank you for doing the giveaway Maryse and for the great blog!

Amiee Gautreaux December 21, 2014 at 11:27 PM

Your blog is my go to place when I need a new book or series to start!! I love it. Thank you for all of the great recommendations.
I would really enjoy my own Kindle. If I’m not reading a paperback… I usually read on my phone (so small), our family iPad (with my 5 kids, that’s not often), or my husband’s Kindle. Thank you for doing this giveaway.
Merry Christmas

Michelle F December 21, 2014 at 11:36 PM

I love my Paperwhite and would love to win another to gift to my husband! Thanks for the giveaway. I love your blog and read it daily. It’s so fun to read all your recommendations and read the opinions and reactions of everyone else too. Merry Christmas!

lisa December 21, 2014 at 11:44 PM

I am a busy mom of three boys! We are always running between soccer games. It would be great to have a paperwhite to sneak in a few eeep worthy moments of reading. Plus my hubs would love for me to stop stealing his tablet. I love your blog and check in daily ( sometimes more ) just to keep up with my addiction!!!!! I really appreciate it.

Kristin Obenhaus December 21, 2014 at 11:44 PM

I look at your site daily, sometimes multiple times a day, looking for the next book to read. My kids typically steal my iPad so I don’t get to read until late at night after they are in bed, and only if my tablet isn’t dead. Would love to have a paperwhite that is mine and mine alone. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

danielle December 21, 2014 at 11:52 PM

I have my kindle away when I got my iPad and regret doing that so much! I would love a dedicated ereader so I don’t have to fight with my 6 year old to have some reading time!

Christine December 22, 2014 at 12:01 AM

It will be the best ever Christmas present ever !!!! Wow, it will be a dream co e true. I am a book a holic. Love your blog

Krista December 22, 2014 at 12:09 AM

For reading on the patio at the pub while having a pint!

Inga December 22, 2014 at 12:15 AM

I mainly read on the bus on my way to work. The lighting is horrible and a PP will make it easier to read with the least damage to my eyesight.

Carrie Klein December 22, 2014 at 12:21 AM

Funny story for you… We went on a cruise last year. I had just found the perfect spot that wasn’t too sunny, but still had some sun and got out my prescription sunglasses and my iPad. I was set for several hours, or so I thought… When I tried to read my book I could not see anything. I was so upset, my day was ruined. I turned to my husband almost in tears saying babe my iPad doesn’t work, fix it. He looks at and says it working just fine. I look at it again and I see nothing but a white screen. I tell him this and he says, i don’t know what your talking about i can see your book just fine. It finally dawns on me to remove my prescription sunglasses, and what do you know there is my book! Apparently I had polarized lenses in my sunglasses, so that was why I couldn’t see my iPad. I had to buy some very expensive ugly sunglasses in the gift shop for the rest of the cruise just to use while reading my iPad outside. Lol

Theresa December 22, 2014 at 12:32 AM

I read on my HTC Tablet. Also, I just had my birthday this past week :)

Lauren December 22, 2014 at 12:45 AM

I have an early generation kindle that does not have a built in light so I eventually switched to my ipad so I wouldn’t have to deal with a book light. But I also find the ipad too heavy sometimes and the glare when reading in a bright environment is harsh!

Britney Boyd December 22, 2014 at 12:52 AM

I read hundreds of books a year & I do it all on my little iphone!!! My poor eyes need the Kindle!!!!! Merry Christmas!

emma December 22, 2014 at 12:53 AM

I need a paper white so when I go to beach, I can read with no problemo !

Linh December 22, 2014 at 12:55 AM

I need me a paper white too! I live in Hawaii and reading at the beach on my iPad us impossible! Thanks for having the giveaway!

Muna December 22, 2014 at 1:46 AM

I don’t have an e-reader or a tablet so I would really love a Kindle!

Thanks for the contest :)

Lily December 22, 2014 at 1:49 AM

Because I love to read anywhere, any time!

Jody December 22, 2014 at 2:22 AM

I don’t have a tablet. The only way for me to read the Kindle books is through the app I downloaded to my computer. Let’s just say sitting at my computer to read is not fun! I’ve read over 90 books this year, the majority of those being either downloaded to the Kindle app, or ebooks from the library! Ever since I found your blog I have found my reading has increased, not that I really needed help there, and I have discovered books I might not have given a chance before, so thanks!

Erin December 22, 2014 at 2:44 AM

I would love to win the Kindle, since my last one broke I’ve had to resort to reading on my phone and I swear I’m getting carpal tunnel from flipping the pages.

maxima Salcedo December 22, 2014 at 2:49 AM

I read on my phone, so it would be great to have one. Since I read a lot battery runs out fast, and I have to sit by the charger to finish whatever I’m reading.

maxima December 22, 2014 at 2:56 AM

Would love one, since I read on my phone. Battery runs out fast, usually have to connect myself to charger to finish, lol

Tracey December 22, 2014 at 3:46 AM

Maryse – Pick me… pick me! I would love to have a Kindle. Also, thanks for all that you do… I love your book blog.

Chantal December 22, 2014 at 3:50 AM

I have the same problem with reading on my Ipad. Maybe I should buy a paperwhite too! (I am from Europe, so no chance for me in this giveaway) but I can completely relate to your story so I felt like commenting anyway!

Margaret December 22, 2014 at 4:00 AM

I love my Kindle touch and have used it so much the grey is rubbed off the front… But have wanted the paperwhite since it was first released because of the light. Tried attached lights but didn’t like the shadows… I will keep my fingers crossed… :)

Stella December 22, 2014 at 4:21 AM

Love your blog! Thank you for all you do. We sooooo appreciate you. I
do my reading on my phone and A kindle would be the best Christmas gift!
Merry Christmas.

Magrae December 22, 2014 at 4:25 AM

I would love a Kindle Paperwhite because my only ereader is 1st generation Nook. I’ve had it for a very long time, I mean it may be old but it’s still working. However, I’d like to think that I’m due for an upgrade. I’d really love to at least experience Kindle this time. I’m really excited about this contest, Maryse. Win or lose, thank you for doing this.

Debbie December 22, 2014 at 6:02 AM

If I had a new Kindle, I would donate my old Kindle to the library.

Edith December 22, 2014 at 6:17 AM

I would love to win a kindle so I could give it to my husband. He loves to read. He was laid off due to outsourcing and is currently stressing about the lack of income and the job search. I pick him up books at the library, but I would love to give him a kindle.

Darlene December 22, 2014 at 6:33 AM

I would love a new kindle. I have the very first one and was thinking about upgrading but wasn’t sure which one to get. Thank you for the chance to win one.

Dawn Bush December 22, 2014 at 7:09 AM

The Paperwhite would be awesome! I have an iPad that I share with my kids…would love a designated “reader”! iPad is great, as you said, for lots of things, but having a true ereader would be sooooo awesome.

Thanks for the chance and Merry Christmas! :-)

Kelly Watson December 22, 2014 at 7:10 AM

Being able to read outside would be AWESOME! I’ve been content to just use my phone for reading. Upgrading to a real reading device would be wonderful!

Cheryl V December 22, 2014 at 7:52 AM

Reading is my Prozac

Cheryl V December 22, 2014 at 7:52 AM

Reading is my Prozac

Doris l December 22, 2014 at 8:02 AM

Because I cannot delete a book and my Kindle is almost at max, LOL.

Cheryl V December 22, 2014 at 8:06 AM

Sorry my tablet is not posting my entire comment grrrr
Reading is my Prozac and a Kindle Paperwhite will allow me to keep my reading dose higher thus making me and those around me happy, happy, happy. Merry Christmas!

Laura Mendez December 22, 2014 at 8:10 AM

I would love a paper white because it’s perfect for me…. where I won’t have to share. Because my kid always wants to borrow my kindle “to play games”. Grrrr…. why must I be a nice mom and always let him?

Yonarkis December 22, 2014 at 8:21 AM

Hi Maryse! I would love to have a Kindle Paperwhite for the same reasons you described. I don’t have an iPad but the glare on my device is horrible. Outside you can’t really read using it, but I find that even indoors it’s a problem if it is bright.

Cheryl December 22, 2014 at 8:23 AM

Maryse, I have an “old” kindle and have to attack a book light to it if I want to read in bed and not keep my hubby awake with the bedside light on! Also would be great to read outside without any glare on the screen!! Thanks!! ;)

Shelly W December 22, 2014 at 8:24 AM

I read on a ipad but after reading for awhile it gives me a headache and let’s face it I could read all day.

Tracie December 22, 2014 at 8:25 AM

I also read outside a lot. Mostly in my car on my breaks and lunch from work because the break room is too noisy to concentrate. I’ve consudered a paper white but reading everyone’s comments I’m sure now I need one.

chrissy kelsey December 22, 2014 at 8:29 AM

I really would love a Kindle White . I have a Kindle fire and it is broken does not keep a charge and it only works for short periods!! I’m going nuts!! I need to read!!!! Lol

Julia December 22, 2014 at 8:46 AM

Hi Maryse, I’m a really old Kindle. I’ve been around for years and gone to places. I was dropped, thrown at the wall, got screamed at cried on. I spent years in my owner’s bed, her purse, you name it (she even tried to shove me into her pocket, imagine?). As much as I love this crazy book addict, I’m so hoping she’d give me to her lovely daughter who loves go read too. I hope you could help me, Maryse. I’m too old for all this and need new forces to insure my happy retirement.

Casey December 22, 2014 at 8:51 AM

I would love to win the Paperwhite!! I currently have NO reading device, other than my cell phone! I would consider myself addicted to reading. I read whenever there is a free moment, including at work!! Now I have to be sneaky about it, but it can be done :) Merry Christmas!

Lauren December 22, 2014 at 9:07 AM

I LIVE in my car….carpool lines, football practices, track meets….etc. I also carry my mother-in-law to countless Dr appts & to the grocery store & wait for her in the car. Would love a Kindle that I can read in the car without glare. I actually keep a towel in my car that I put over the driver’s side window to keep the sun off my iPad. Hate doing that!!

Dawn M. December 22, 2014 at 9:15 AM

I don’t own a Kindle and reading on my phone app is getting to be a challenge especially when outside. I would like to see what the difference would be reading on the paper white versus my phone.
Thanks for the opportunity to possibly find out!

Stacy P. December 22, 2014 at 9:55 AM

I love to read outside but it’s almost impossible because of the glare. Also, my Kindle is so old that it constantly needs to be charged. I would love to receive a new paperwhite! Thanks for the opportunity. Merry Christmas everyone!

Susan W. December 22, 2014 at 9:56 AM

I would give it to a friend who is always doing special stuff for her family and always puts herself last. Thanks for he giveaway!

Danette December 22, 2014 at 10:06 AM

My e-reader is my constant companion. With it I carry my WHOLE library with me all the time!!! Any time I need a pick me up, to patiently wait for an appointment or just a few moments of escape my books are always with me. (Does it get any better than that?) Well, only one thing would make it better: if I could read in the sunlight or bright lights. :)

Sue December 22, 2014 at 10:26 AM

I love to read outside. I always have books on my phone so I can read wherever I am but it always drains the battery.

Lynn December 22, 2014 at 10:27 AM

I have the original ipad and, sadly, I think it’s nearing its end…thousands and thousands of words read, over a hundred books in my library. How much more can it take?!

Jennifer Lasseigne December 22, 2014 at 10:30 AM

I absolutely LOVE my paperwhite and if I were to win I would give it to my mom! She loves as well and I think she would enjoy the paperwhite.

Esther December 22, 2014 at 10:33 AM

cause i really need one , simple as that ! :-)
Thanks for the giveaway.

Debra D December 22, 2014 at 10:34 AM

Because I agree with you a hundred percent. glare outside is the worst!!! Would love a kindle paperwhite!

Kelly December 22, 2014 at 10:36 AM

I read exclusively on my iPhone and I think it’s finally starting to hurt my eyesight. I’d love to read on something a little bigger so that I can increase the font size without having to turn the page every two seconds. My phone’s battery might also make it past lunchtime!

Stacey December 22, 2014 at 10:38 AM

I read so much, sometimes going through a book a day. I would love a paperwhite so I could stop reading on my phone! Thanks :)

Laura December 22, 2014 at 10:43 AM

Paperwhite would be perfect for reading at the pool!

Lyn December 22, 2014 at 10:45 AM

I love to read at night and while traveling. The paperwhite would be so great for me! I would love it to be my Christmas present to me!! Merry Christmas to all.

Jessica December 22, 2014 at 11:07 AM

I have a Nook Color, but have been wanting a Kindle for years. They have so many more books and authors and sales (hello, Kathleen Turner series, I’m dying to read those books), that the Nook doesn’t offer. My Nook color works perfectly fine so I can’t justify (to the hubby) buying a Kindle as well.

Chanpreet December 22, 2014 at 11:11 AM

I need a Paperwhite because I read on my Kindle in the car and at night I have to use the flashlight app on my phone to do so once it gets dark. I get migraines from the glare, but I just can’t stop reading!

And I only read when I’m in the passenger seat or in the back seat. Never while driving!

geekyreader December 22, 2014 at 11:14 AM

Morning Maryse to start off I loveeee your blog and must say I have read books I normally wouldn’t think twice about reading but am glad I
did, I’m currently rotating reading on my phone and borrowing( my daughter says hijacking) her tablet, my last one broke a week after I got it fixed on warranty, and shocker wasn’t able to get fixed again,,,,Sooo I would absolutely Love a Kindle paperwhite to continue my reality escapes by diving into a story preferable on a larger format,,,,,Thanks for the time and Happy Reading

Jessica December 22, 2014 at 11:18 AM

I would love a paperwhite, we’ll because I don’t have anything for just me, I had kindles and my kids kinda took them over, I got an iPad, and my kids took that over too. My phone is over run with kids games, and I would truly love something for just me and my addiction of reading. It would only hold books, and then I wouldn’t have to worry about that being taken over too. I could get my self one, but I’m the type of person who get for others above my self. So I would really just like something for me. But to who ever wins, congrats. You deserve it :)
P.s. I love your blog, I visits it Dailey, and find such amazing reads.

Margs December 22, 2014 at 11:19 AM

I have been coveting the Paperwhite for a year. Would love to have one! My old Kindle is on its last legs due to overuse – I bring it everywhere and read daily. I love it so much, but an upgrade would be fab. Thank you Maryse!

Jen December 22, 2014 at 11:23 AM

Hey Maryse…Happy Holidays…so, ok, yay…you’ve convinced me. I need one. I have problems reading and seeing my iPad sometimes too. Don’t want to miss any precious reading time…lol. Thx for the giveaway!!

Delia James December 22, 2014 at 11:33 AM

I adore my PaperWhite. I cannot imagine going back to a regular tablet for reading ever again. It’s perfect in bright sun, shade, and at night time with the backlight. Plus it’s small enough to carry in my purse all the time. AND- I don’t mind reading in the tub because I didn’t pay $400 for it! One word of warning if you’re ordering it from Amazon- the older Paperwhite is only 2GB and the new one is 4GB. I had the older version and was already out of space so I ordered the new one on sale on Black Friday. They sent me an old one so I had to return it and buy the new version at Best Buy instead. That extra 2GB makes a huge difference if you are a reading addict like me.

Marlena Robinson December 22, 2014 at 11:34 AM

Awesome giveaway Maryse! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And happy reading but that can almost go without being said lol!

Michele December 22, 2014 at 11:37 AM

I would LOVE a paperwhite!!

Meredith December 22, 2014 at 11:54 AM

I want one to read….by the pool… the summer…..that seems so far away!!!!

Sylwia December 22, 2014 at 12:15 PM

Hey Maryse…I love your blog.I can honestly say I have a problem with reading (my sis thinks i need to go Reading Anonymous…if they had one lol). I use my phone kindle app to read since I haven’t had any extra money to get a kindle since everything goes to my son. Even though I read as much as possible its really hard to do and a pain on the eyes and just everything in general so I would love the paperwhite!!! Thank you!!!

Kim December 22, 2014 at 12:37 PM

I need a new Kindle Paperwhite because the one I have is wearing out because of all the books I read based on your recommendations!

Merry Christmas Maryse! Thanks for a GREAT year of reading tips!!

Sandy Long December 22, 2014 at 12:48 PM

I NEED the paperwhite so that i can read ANYWHERE… outside inside and everywhere without the heaviness of my ipad and being able to read in the sun… WOULD BE AWESOME!!!
Merry Christmas Maryse and heres to a happy successful year of greatness of our fav authors…

LuluBgood December 22, 2014 at 1:01 PM

I need a Paperwhite so that I an read in a dark bedroom and not bother anyone unless, of course, they want to be bothered.

Megan Mayberry December 22, 2014 at 1:08 PM

I need a Kindle paperwhite because the Nook I have now is starting to give me problems and I would like to try kindle next!! Thanks!

Lisa December 22, 2014 at 1:13 PM

Merry Christmas to me! That’s how I would feel if I had a kindle.

Neika December 22, 2014 at 1:28 PM

Hi Maryse!
…Well my kindle Fire hd died last week…the murderer my 4 year old son Diego. The funny thing is it got killed on my birthday, parents and hubby got me kindle gift cards as birthday presents

Maggie C December 22, 2014 at 1:31 PM

I use to drive every day to work. Just a few months ago, I started to taking the transit because I want to be more environmentally responsible, being more active, and quite frankly, fed up of sitting in traffic. Sitting in the subway is boring … with this, I can catch up my favourite reading!

Anubha December 22, 2014 at 1:31 PM

New Paperwhite = Books anytime anywhere = ever ending options to select from titles = Get to read more books = occupies less space
So many goods. who wouldn’t want a paperwhite for themselves?

Nicole Santos December 22, 2014 at 1:38 PM

I would love to have a Kindle paperwhite so i can read anywhere I go – indoors or outdoors. Happy Holidays as well!

Tina December 22, 2014 at 2:14 PM

I have a Paperwhite and LOVE it. If I won I would give it to my Mom as she’s an avid reader and it’s getting hard for her to get out to the library these days.

latisha December 22, 2014 at 2:15 PM

Susan Root December 22, 2014 at 2:16 PM

Omg!! It would be awesome to read with especially since I am home after 32 years in the workforce!! Love the look!

KatieJ December 22, 2014 at 2:33 PM

Dear Santa (aka Maryse),
All I want for Christmas is the Kindle Paperwhite! My New Year’s resolution is to read my TBR before buying another book…this will help so much!
Thank for another great year reading your blog and for hosting this wonderful giveaway.
Best wishes,

Katherine Walsh December 22, 2014 at 2:41 PM

Yay for kindle reading!!! I let my sister borrow my kindle and of course she broke it :( Have a Merry Christmas!

Timitra December 22, 2014 at 2:51 PM

I have a Kindle keyboard now while I love it, it can’t do the things the Paperwhite can like I can’t read in the dark with it nor can I highlight in color or post highlights to Goodreads…that’s why I need a Kindle Paperwhite. Thanks for the chance to win!

geekyreader December 22, 2014 at 2:56 PM

Hi Maryse, just a side note i only meant to post one time i redid my orginal entry because i didnt see it ( next time i’ll be more patient)

Jackie December 22, 2014 at 3:55 PM

Reading outside, in the car, etc….. Happy Holiday – love your blog!!

Nicole Grobe December 22, 2014 at 4:08 PM

I need a paperwhite because my Kindle I have is OLD! Yes I have a kindle from way back when it had a keyboard on it and push buttons to turn the pages. It’s my trustly ol’kindle but I am guessing it won’t last forever and 5 years is a long time. Might be time to move on to something new…I think? :) ~Nicole

Sharon Chalk December 22, 2014 at 4:15 PM

I would love a paper white kindle and if Christmas presents for the kid and the grandkids didn’t break my credit cards I was going to treat myself to one for Christmas.I have a regular kindle but I have surgery coming up in January and will be confined to bed until sometime in July,a little over 6 months in bed and my kindle is loaded with books but the lamp by my bed is not bright enough and as I will be using a hospital bed we already tried the clip on lights and they just don’t work on the hospital beds that you have at home, the headboard is too fat for it to click and the last thing I will need is a headache from trying to read with dim lighting so a paper white would be perfect!!!

Mick Murphy December 22, 2014 at 4:20 PM

I would LOVE a Kindle Paperwhite because my kindle I have is acting up and has a huge crack down the middle…it’s time for a new one! Hope to win!!! Thank you for the amazing chance!

Summer December 22, 2014 at 4:21 PM

I have read so much on my old kindle it has worn it out! Plus my hubby says the light on my kindle now bothers him when reading in bed, so a new paperwhite will kill two birds with one stone!

Ps I love your website and check it several times a day!

Melody December 22, 2014 at 4:27 PM

Since I live in FL, the Paperwhite would make is so much easier to read outside all year long! Thank you for this opportunity and Merry Christmas!

Kristin December 22, 2014 at 4:32 PM

Hi Maryse!

michele December 22, 2014 at 4:35 PM

I would LOVE ONE because i read on my old outdated phone!! Have major headaches because i cant afford one. I love to read every day..and want to be able to read regular size print
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to EVERYONE

Kristin December 22, 2014 at 4:37 PM

Hi maryse!

Sara December 22, 2014 at 4:42 PM

I don’t like to share my kindle. Some of my book covers are appropriate for the kids. I want my son to join in my love of books and it seems the best way to do that is to get him his own kindle, but I already spent too much this Christmas season. If I don’t win it, maybe he’ll get one for his birthday :)

Leslie December 22, 2014 at 4:46 PM

I read on my ipad. A kindle would be great to have for outdoors and to free up much needed space on my ipad

Lara December 22, 2014 at 4:59 PM

I read a TON!! Just ask my husband :-) A paperwhite would be perfect this holiday season.

Melissa December 22, 2014 at 5:00 PM

I need more room for books!! LOL I often need to read outside which my tablet does not do well. Thanks for the chance!!

Nena Auld December 22, 2014 at 5:17 PM

I am a mother of 5, full time college student, as well as part time office assistant. In between all of that, I read love stories, the dark and the light. I usually read 3-5 books a week and let’s be honest, my shelves are kinda ridiculous right now! Plus I rarely go back for seconds, this kindle would be a miracle come true for my lifestyle (also, no one but me will see the covers, which has prevented me from reading in waiting rooms, office breaks, due to the fact that some of them have smokin hot bad boys!)
thanks, Nena

Avery December 22, 2014 at 5:36 PM

I need one too! I’m in Florida, the SUNSHINE state and reading on my ipad outside by the pool or beach just isn’t working.

sonia December 22, 2014 at 6:11 PM

We installed a pool and would love to read outside.

Kristen K. December 22, 2014 at 6:12 PM

I’ve heard they’re great for reading in bed because the backlight is not so harsh…

Kristen M December 22, 2014 at 6:34 PM

Maryse, first of all I absolutely love you blog. 99% of my book purchases come from your recommendations. I would love a Kindle paperwhite would be perfect for me to be able to read outside while the kids and dogs are running around every which direction.

Kathy Lodholz December 22, 2014 at 6:44 PM

Merry Christmas Maryse! I would love a Kindle Paperwhite for the backlight factor to make it easier on these old eyes to read.

Tracy December 22, 2014 at 7:01 PM

Well for starters tomorrows my b day!! I was going to buy a paperwhite for myself but its just not gonna work out and like you I am also trying to convenice my self why I truly need one because I can read on other devices so why use the money to get one other then I really really want it! I read every day and would put it to great use!

samantha December 22, 2014 at 7:02 PM

I would luv to win a kindle paperwhite the iPad does not work well while sitting and watching the kids at practices then they always want to play games on it during breaks or between sessions and it’s so hard to stop reading when you really get into a book I wonder if they’d like it if I paused their movie ten times … hehe … having a kindle paperwhite would be a win for us all …Happy holidays and I luv your blog it’s how I find all my books is threw your blog ……(:

Jennifer December 22, 2014 at 7:07 PM

I would like to win a kindle paper white I like to read every day but three kids and one kindle doesn’t get me much reading time ..when I do take it outside I look like the weirdo with a towel over head trying to block out the sun and moving around to get the right angle …would be a nice gift to win. Merry Christmas to you and your family…

Justine December 22, 2014 at 7:16 PM

Reading on a Paperwhite would be MUCH easier on my eyes!

I would love to have a paperwhite because my current kindle is a kindle 2 and the lcd screen is dying (because it can’t possibly be that my eyes are too old to see the print on the non-white background :) Merry Christmas everyone!

Sarah Piechuta December 22, 2014 at 7:32 PM

I love my Kindle, but it’s old and likes to reset itself. I would love a Paperwhite especially since I love to read outside too. Thanks for the chance! Merry Christmas!

Tammi December 22, 2014 at 7:40 PM

I would love a paperwhite for reading outside! Thanks for the chance.

Claudia December 22, 2014 at 7:48 PM

I have a nook and having been wanting to go to the “other side” and try the kindle. I always miss out on free books at barnes and nobles so this would give me a chance to get some freebies and read even more! Thanks!

Mindy December 22, 2014 at 8:05 PM

Pick me! I’ve been loving my kindle for sometime… So long in fact that the screen of my ol’ kindle has many “marks” on the screen from all the hours I’ve put in on the thing. I literally carry it with me at all times but it is practically falling apart from the tears and the marks from keeping it in my purse. Keys and kindle screens are not good friends. I carry it everywhere and I have it within reading distance when ever I’m on the go! I guess I want the paper white the most because my version of the kindle is quite dated and it would be nice to have soemthing to read at night or in bright light! I also love how light weight the kindles are in comparision to other readers.

Shannon December 22, 2014 at 8:40 PM

Well, my Nook (that I “stole”) from my daughter, died after a year of amazingly good use, could be all those Kristen Ashley books I have downloaded, like,, every single one LOL I cannot read without it being plugged in and seeing I read EVERYWHERE I go, you see how that is a huge inconvenience seeing as they dont have extension cords that are a billion miles long LOL Also, I’d like to be able to read at the beach this summer, soooooooo a Paperwhite would be a blessing! THANK YOU for the chance and Merry Christmas <3 :)

Dena December 22, 2014 at 8:44 PM

I am in the same boat I absolutely love my iPad but having a kindle would rock. I’m curious about it too. I want to view and read without having to argue with my kids. They love the games lol. Most of all I love amazon and a kindle would make my year. Thank you for offering everyone this chance. You rock!!!

Michelle December 22, 2014 at 8:48 PM

Well I do not need a Paperwhite BUT my sister does since whenever we are outside she invariably steals mine! So indirectly, I would like to keep mine (which is fabulous for any on the fence about purchasing) and hook her up :) Thanks for another great giveaway!

Nikole December 22, 2014 at 8:55 PM

Great decision you won’t regret it! I don’t use my IPad to read because I have a 6 year old who’s decided that it’s his to use for games. I currently read on my FireHD but I really miss my ORIGINAL kindle way back in the day (haha you know 2009) when they only offered two verisions! It’s amazing to read outside; you’re eyes never get tired because it’s like reading print not like a computer; and it’s lightweight easy to hold with one hand or laying in bed!!! PS you also have to best blog ever, the only one I read and my wallet has seriously dwindle in the 3 years since I found you!

Jenny December 22, 2014 at 8:57 PM

I read outside all summer long (the only way I have enough patience to lay out!) Would love no glare!!

Ash December 22, 2014 at 8:59 PM

I’d love to enter the contest! I’d actually be entering for my grandmother. She just got through a masectomy (which I’m so so thankful for!)and we read books together. :) I’d love to be able to give her a new Kindle for Christmas!

Julia Sells December 22, 2014 at 9:10 PM

I’d love to give my kindle to a friend to read some great material, while enjoying my new kindle!!!! Merry CHRISTMAS!

Melissa December 22, 2014 at 9:16 PM

Reading on a Paperwhite would be so awesome! They are so clear compared to my first generation Nook. :)

Donna December 22, 2014 at 9:26 PM

Hi Maryse! Today is my birthday and I would love to win the paper white. Merry Christmas!

Jen December 22, 2014 at 9:38 PM

I would love to give my tired eyes a rest by reading my books on a paperwhite. I’ve heard such great things about them. After working on a computer all day, it’s pretty tiring on my eyes reading on my kindle fire. (When my kids aren’t hogging it of course ;) )

Kristin caudill December 22, 2014 at 9:47 PM

I need a paperwhite to give my mom as a Christmas gift. She reads so much and loves to travel, so she needs a paperwhite to take with her to sit on the beach. Thanks!

Michele December 22, 2014 at 9:52 PM

I love “real” books and swore I would not get an ereader. But I am finding that I am getting a lot of ebooks – deals that I can’t pass up, gifts from authors and bloggers, etc. I currently use the kindle app but I would love a Paperwhite!

Jenny L December 22, 2014 at 9:59 PM

With the lighter Kindle, I could read while holding my napping baby. The iPad is great but too heavy.

Barb December 22, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Hi Maryse

Merry Christmas, thanks for keeping such a great site !!

I need a paper white because I am ADDICTED to reading and don’t have a book light :)

It would make an awesome addition to any serious reader

Becky K December 22, 2014 at 10:01 PM

My eyes would thank me lol. I seriously end up reading on my phone or don’t end up reading as much as I would. I would love to get the paperwhite. Hope I’m not too late.

Tiffany December 22, 2014 at 10:05 PM

Kindles are the best! Not the Fires, but the original electronic ink ones. So much better on your eyes!

nancy December 22, 2014 at 10:39 PM

I’m still reading either on my phone or my original Kindle version 3!!! Would love a paperwhite.

francisca navarro December 22, 2014 at 10:55 PM

For the very same reasons as you! I tok have an ipad but its npt the same! Its too big and I can’t read outside. The battery life is terrible with reading. Sigh *** third world problems. Lol Thanks for the chance and I hope I win were!!

Christina December 22, 2014 at 11:14 PM

LOL My daughter has mine now.

Erika December 22, 2014 at 11:47 PM

I need one so I can read outdoors! It is so hard to read my Kindle Fire outdoors! Thanks!

Laura M December 23, 2014 at 1:13 AM

I have the same iPad issues as you….except I’m getting nervous because my iPad has been acting wonky. I’ve had it for almost 4 years and don’t have the money to replace it. And I live in Florida now, so all I want to do is read outside! Thanks for the chance. Merry Christmas.

Julie Mysiewicz December 23, 2014 at 1:21 AM

I don’t own a Kindle yet. I currently read on my phone with the Kindle app. My phone has very small internal memory so I have to keep cleaning out my phones data so I can use the Kindle app. Its so bad, but its the only way I can read at night in bed.

Jackie Dickson December 23, 2014 at 1:24 AM

My son’s school does a fundraiser each year where the classrooms each put together a “basket” to be auctioned off. I’d love to put the Kindle Paperwhite in there and beg a few authors to donate books. I think it’d bring in some money for the school.

Cristal December 23, 2014 at 1:25 AM

1st, thank you for the giveaway!!!
2nd, I would love to win this kindle for my daughter. She LOVES to read just as much as I do, but she doesn’t have a kindle. I know she would enjoy it and it would be a great gift for her!!!
Thanks again for the chance to win and Merry Christmas

Brandi Defries Swendt December 23, 2014 at 1:54 AM

I need it because mine broke & not the right time to buy another . Would save my year for sure. Thanks for the chance

Amber December 23, 2014 at 2:07 AM

Ok so it’s after the deadline but I have to put in for it. I bought my mom her first kindle years ago. The original version. I was still going through a point in my life then where I had no spare reading time(80 hr+ work weeks). Eventually she returned the favor when I was able to start reading again and bought me a kindle fire. It just died on my most recent vacation but I was thinking I wanted to get a kindle paper anyway. I’m not crazy about not being able to read outdoors and I don’t use my kindle for anything else. I’m getting tired of reading my books on a tiny iPhone screen:(

Pauline berry December 23, 2014 at 2:19 AM

id love a paper white I love to read books anytime anywhere ,I read on my iPhone now but a paper white is a little bit bigger love your books !!

Ronna Richett December 23, 2014 at 5:43 AM

I love your blog. I always look forward to all the great info. You are so right about all the devices. I have my Kindle fire and I can do so much on it but I can’t read outside. My family are always doing activities outside and I would love to be out with them. I am an older person who loves my books. It would be so nice to be able to relax with family and friends and read.

Terry briody December 23, 2014 at 6:36 AM

by the time I seen this posted it was too late :( damn Facebook ! Good luck all and merry Christmas

Tiffany December 23, 2014 at 6:39 AM

I am in Canada and I have a kobo but some books are amazon only :( . I hate reading on the kindle app on my iPad or phone so to read all those amazing books I am missing. I really need a kindle :)

Misty December 23, 2014 at 9:26 AM

I love my kindle fire hd and I never leave the house without it, but the one negative thing about it is that I can’t read outside with it. I love to read at the beach or by the pool so I really really need a paper white. Pick me! Pick me!

Alisa December 23, 2014 at 9:56 AM

Maryse, I need a Kindle Paperwhite because my Kindle Touch died earlier this year and I’ve been reading on my phone ever since. Reading on my phone sucks! I’ve been trying to wait until the new year to purchase a new Kindle but winning one from you would be great! Merry Christmas :)

Jackie December 23, 2014 at 10:04 AM

i read books like its my religion. A paperwhite is awesome for transporting massive amounts of books on deployments as well.

Alissa December 23, 2014 at 11:57 AM

I am always on the road traveling for work and we drive everywhere so the glare is too much at times and pauses my reading :(

Sandy Roman Borrero December 23, 2014 at 12:08 PM

I need a paperwhite so I’ll no lobver be a slave to the charger. Paperwhite has a Yay long battery life. I actually still use my Kindle Keyboard in the sunshine. Thank you Maryse! Squuuuueeee. :-)

Lauren December 23, 2014 at 3:33 PM

The paper white would also save me from reading on my iPhone since my kids have stolen my KindleFire! I’m pretty sure I’d have to brave the forest of Legos to get it back and if you have ever stepped on a Lego you know the struggle is real! Shouldn’t complain though since thy are using it to actually READ!

Carol H December 23, 2014 at 3:43 PM

I need a new Paperwhite because my Kindle is old & scratched and the buttons are sticking (this all means I read entirely too much, right???)

michelle December 23, 2014 at 4:42 PM

I need a kindle paperwhite because I can’t get my Kindle Fire from the kids and have to wait till they go to bed. Lol. Thanks Maryse!!

Kim L December 23, 2014 at 6:08 PM

Why I need a paperwhite is because the Fire has the same problem when reading in the sun. And I live in South Florida the land of SUN!!!! lol. Also it always good to have a back up for when I’m charging. BTW you ROCK as away.

dina December 24, 2014 at 2:50 AM

because its awesome!

Kathy Brown December 25, 2014 at 1:00 AM

I have a kindle that I have used so much that the buttons no longer work to turn the pages so I have to read on my phone which is not the best option considering the battery life last only a couple of hours. I really miss my kindle and need a new paper white kindle. I am such an over achiever who wears out a kindle I mean really. LOL.

steven weber December 26, 2014 at 4:12 PM

I need a Kindle because I need to catch up on so many books!
