Today proves to be another great kick-off to the week. It may be Monday, but there are some blurb-jolters below, and a few that are already tried and true!! Like a new sexy-military contemporary romance from a series that I already love, and a GRITTY biker book that sounds like it could be exactly what we crave from our MC “love stories” and a few marital issues, and a few thrillers. Yep. I don’t think today’s gonna be boring at all. In fact, tomorrow won’t be boring either. LOL! Did you see some of the pre-orders going live tomorrow (or at midnight?! I posted ’em below, too. π

Ok, I’m officially pissed off at Amazon. I have been waiting impatiently for The Baller to be released today and it’s STILL not there. I’m looking into other stores. Anyone else ever used KOBO? Every other store has TB already. And of course I still have gift card balance on Amazon. Oh well not like I’ll ever buy another book from them…
GAH! I know… I’m stalking it too.
Vi Keeland posted today:
“Amazon has not released The Baller yet. It’s been in review status since yesterday. I apologize for the day! It normally takes only a few hours to go live.”
I personally am super excited for Emma Chase Appealed coming out tomorrow! AND Pucked Over by Helena Hunting coming out next week!!!
Ok, The Baller is now on Amazon. Just an hour after I set up a KOBO account and purchased it. Oh well, LOL!!
Finally The Baller is live on Amazon! One clicking now π
Club Whore sounds intriguing. If its written by a former “old lady” then you bet I am reading it.
YAY!! Okay I just added it!! π
I’m getting The Baller too. But I’m waiting until tomorrow to get Feverborn because I want to get the Audible version. I love those narrators!
Looks like we were all waiting for The Baller! I love Vi Keelsnd! So excited for this one! Looking forward to Pucked Over too! Someone mentioned Cocky Bastard 2…. is that out? I can’t find it! Did I miss something?
Filthy mouthed quarterback? I’m in. One click button was activated!
Happy Release Day! I’m glad The Baller was finally available on Amazon. Same thing happened to Ground Rules #2. I remember stalking Amazon on release day waiting, very impatiently! Release day means it’s time to go through the list and upload those samples onto my Kindle.
I’m on book #7 of Chicagoland Vampires. I still haven’t tired of this series. It really is just that awesome! It’s like every book is a TV season. There’s always one mystery or situation to solve/resolve. Chloe Neill does such an awesome job keeping the reader tuned in and coming back for more! It reminds me a little of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series. PLUS! It’s told completely from the heroine’s point of view (first-person) which is my FAVORITE!!! However, downside is the books are getting more expensive. It went from $6 to up to $12/book. Why must paranormal books be more expensive? π
The Baller. Click! Clubwhore. Click! Cocky Bastard 2??!! If I find it…click. See why I love you guys? No judgement!!! ;)))
*reads facebook post* Fine, pre-ordered Never, Never 3. Now we’ll find out what happened! Though, I’m reading Feverborn first! π
I finally read Broken Dolls by Kitty Thomas. I liked it, but it had so much more potential. It felt like it just stop ended. It could have done with at least 50 more pages, if not more. Or, honestly, another book, part two. There are too many unresolved questions going on in my head still.
Christina! They are expensive because they know they got us hooked. I cheated and read most of those through the library. However, now I just buy the newest when it comes out. I’m not waiting four months to read it!
Cristina, not Christina* *blushes and mutters as she walks off*
Marsye, Laura Wright/Alexandra Ivy has new Bayou book came out today.
Lynn Raye Harris – new Hot series out tomorrow
Okay, now I can finally start the Never Never books. Yay!!! Could there be a better combo than CH and TF? *happy dance*
Hausfrau is going well for me so far. The pacing is CRAZY different in that it goes from present to recent past to a conversation with her psychiatrist and back to present then to long-ago past and back to present, with only a few line spaces to note the transition. It honestly took a bit for me to adjust to all that, but now that I have I can see how each part ties in with the others. It’s actually pretty brilliant. π And oh lord, she is a hot freaking mess.
Linda…damn right there is no judgement here!!! π
Accidental Bride by Noelle Adams is out tomorrow too. It is the 3rd book in the Beaufort Brides series!
Thank you Jen! I’m adding it to today’s main new release post. π
LOL… No worries Tessa! It sounds the same. π
I need to get myself a library card, but I think in Indiana there are certain restrictions. Like, you can get a free one to the library in your county, but if you go outside of it, you have to pay. Our local (county) library isn’t very stocked. I’d have to go to Indianapolis, and it’s quite a trek for me.
I did take a short break from the Chicagoland Vampire series to read The Score and Ricochet (both seriously awesome). I’ll probably take another break after reading book#7 and start something new. I really want to read First Grave on the Right, but yet again, it’s kind of an expensive series. I read the sample and new immediately, it was going to be good. Paranormal will always be my first love. π
I may check out Appealed too. I seriously laughed my a%$ off reading Sustained! I had tears streaming down my face. If you haven’t read it, please do! It centers around lawyer, Jake Becker. All male, and all hot. The dialogue reminded me of Emma Chase’s first book in her Tangled series. Ohhhh…… Drew Evans… *sigh*
Jake Becker meets Chelsea in this book. Chelsea recently moves to D.C. after her brother and sister-in-law pass away. She is left to raise her SIX nieces and nephews all by herself (ages 6 months to 14). She meets Becker after one of the kids pick-pockets Becker in a park. He catches the kid and drives him home to tell his parents.
There is a scene where Chelsea and the kids catch the stomach flu and Becker (having never raised a kid much less been around them), comes to Chelsea’s aid. I laughed till I cried! What makes Emma Chase such a great writer is these scenes are so close to real life. Unfiltered and messy. I read that scene out loud to my husband and we were both dying laughing. He said, “Man, that does sound like real life.”
In case anyone is interested, Priest by Sierra Simone is free in Amazon. You can bet I one clicked!
Thank you Sharon!!! Nice and taboo!! π
Cristina, All of your endorsement made me go to the library website just now. lol They have Emma Chase! The first in that series is checked out, but still, I can wait. *narrows eyes* Honestly, I have only praise for the library here. It has variety and tons of books for both adults and kids. π Apparently Tangled is there too. *squees*
It totally sucks you have to pay to go to another area. I’m not sure if we do here, but I’d hope anyone could just get a card.
Cristina…is Sustained dual POV or his POV only? From the blurb it sounds like his POV, and I don’t really connect with those. π
Amy, if I remember correctly, I think it’s told completely from his POV. I understand where you’re coming from on POV’s. It’s what kept me from initially reading Chase’s “Tangled” book, but Drew Chase was just hilarious! He was so unfiltered and believable. I was really surprised that I loved it so much! I think it depends on the content of the book. If it’s a more serious tone, then I prefer first person, heroine. But since these books are more romantic comedies, it works for me. π
Cristina, you’re Emma Chase enthusiasm is exciting me! I actually read and loved Tangled, too. But I’m interested in her new lawyer series. π
Tessa, Amy, hereβs an excerpt from Sustained:
“I head to the kitchen where Rosaleen is perched on the counter beside her baby brother, holding a bottle for him. She says sheβs watched her mother and Chelsea do it a thousand times. Thank f%ck for observant kids.
β ‘You are officially my second in command’,I tell her. ‘You and me together are gonna kick this virusβs a%$.’ She giggles. ‘Okay.’ β
“Once I get Ronan settled in his swing, I find Rosaleen in the living room. We walk to the kitchen to check out our supplies, but she stops just inside the kitchen door. Her face goes blank and frighteningly ashen. ‘You okay, Rosaleen?’
She opens her mouth to answer β but what comes out is a burst of chunky yellow vomit, like lumpy pancake mix gone sour.
Man down.
She coughs and stares, horrified, at the disaster on the floor, splattered on her shoes and on her sparkly T-shirt. Then she starts to cry. ‘Iβm sorry, Jake.’
Something in my chest swells at her tears, making everything feel too tight. I kneel down beside her, my hand rubbing circles on her back. ‘Itβs okay Rosaleen β itβs just puke. Itβs not a big deal.’
The dog scurries in like Mighty Mouse coming to save the day. Then he starts to chow down on Rosaleenβs vomit.
Robustly.
I gag in the back of my throat, but manage to hold it together. ‘See?’ I tell her, trying to sound cheery. ‘You did me a favor β now I wonβt have to feed the dog.’β
And this is just a crumb of the comedy in this book! π
For the record, I tried to italicize the excerpt by writing it in Word and copying and pasting it here. Needless to say, it didn’t italicize and so I added the quotation marks and they are all over the place. I hope it makes sense to you guys π
Tessa, I am so excited for you! Emma Chase ROCKS! Tangled will go down as one of my all-time fav books! It just made me laugh so hard, plus its the first book I ever shared with my husband. I didn’t read the entire book to him (not sure I could make it through a steamy scene without a fit of giggles and blushing), but I did read the humorous parts. I found Drew’s point of view just so unfiltered and funny that I wanted my husband’s point of view. I read a chapter and then stopped and he was like, “You seriously can’t keep me hanging like that.”. He thought Drew was pretty spot on with his line of thinking. My husband is a muscular, tattooed, alpha man, so that’s saying something. We had so much fun reading it together. π
Cocky Bastard 2 series not out until March.
Reading The Baller all day. I love when I’m reading a book and I get that “feel.” The one where you are enjoying what you’re reading and the actual writing and you don’t want to stop reading, but you don’t want it to end. Yeh, that’s what I’m feeling. *sigh*
That will be mine next, Cheryl. π YAY ME!!
I just read a FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC book by Jen Frederick called Sacked:A Novel (A Gridiron Novel Book 1). It’s like Elle Kennedy’s & Kristen Callahan’s books….in fact, she thanks both authors in the acknowledgments portion of the book. I loved it! You HAVE to read it!
Finished Imp series book 3. Really good dark fantasy series and I like where it’s headed.
Need a change up and Cheryl, Baller sounds good so I’m going with that π
Oh and I need reports on Feverborn before taking the plung. Those who read it, please post!
Awesome Michelle. I’m adding it to today’s post. I haven’t seen that series before. π
I am half way through The Baller and loving it!! This is the type of book I needed right now π
I’ll be reading that one too, Anne. YAY! I’m glad you’re loving it.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the cover of “baller” holyee shit! Also I just finished “club whore” and you get to read this book from the clubwhores point of view! It gets you thinking and this is what I’v come up with “never judge a book by its cover as you don’t know anyone to judge them! Enjoyed it!
YAY!!! Thank you for the update Cait!!! π I want to read that one soon… actually both that you have mentioned. π
Reading Happily Ever Ninja right now and LOVE it! I couldn’t wait for this to come out, especially after reading Ninja at First Sight. Totally fell in love with Greg. All the feels in this book.!
Penny Reid is awesome!!! π I’m glad you loved it, Elizabeth!
Maryse, thanks for sharing my love of Emma Chase! π
My fav books are the ones that screw with my mind #Mindf%$ks, BUT romantic comedies are the perfect remedy to piece my mind back together. Kinda like a cigarette after well you know… but I don’t smoke. Or an excellent spa treatment. LOL Emma Chase’s books are perfect for that! I read Sustained after the Twist Me series. π
