UPDATE: CHECK OUT THE WEDNESDAY NEW RELEASES JUST A BIT BELOW (ADD-ONS)
*ooooomph!!!* April 5th… er I should say April “something” has always been one of the biggest book days of the year for me ’cause a new BDB book releases each year, that month. And if I remember right, there was always a new Sookie Steakhouse book that month, too (*sigh* I miss them…).
And today proves to be right on target ’cause not only do we have a new Black Dagger Brotherhood (The Beast: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood that focuses on one of our FAVORITE brothers – Rhage!! – from our BDB origins),
MichelleS: Rhage! Rhage! Rhage! Rhage! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! He’s a BEAST & I love every inch of Hollywood!!! Best of the BDB. And I adore Mary. Tough little cookie. You know where to find me tomorrow. Up to my eyeballs in hot vampires & their Shellans. Please nobody die!!! OMG. I’m scared!!!!
Danielle: Just started The Beast and I’m thinking I might have a book hangover tomorrow.
but we have the CONCLUSION to the Crossfire series (One with You: A Crossfire Novel (Crossfire Series Book 5), and Gideon is back!!
Kristin: Talk about luck! Just found my copies of the crossfire series, and was hoping to read the last one soon. Now I dont have to wait
Let alone the two books from yesterday’s list (➜ Monday’s Early Bird Book Releases) that released (Paper Princess I’m already reading – a bully-ish sounding one) and Dark Notes, a student-teacher and she’s in her last year of high school *gasp*!!! Yep. My whole reading week is booked solid and it’s gonna be a GOOD one!!
WEDNESDAY NEW RELEASE ADD-ONS!!
- Right by Jana Aston <— LIVE!!! I know SO many in our crew went crazy over “Wrong” and the new release is already in the top 100!!
Gabby: I’m reading it right now! It’s sooooo good! Definitely getting 5 stars from me!
- Shock Advised (Kilgore Fire Book 1) by Lani Lynn Vale
- Going All the Way (Knights of Passion Book 1) by Megan Ryder <— BASEBALL STAR ALERT!
- Restless by Michelle Bellon <— “…why is it that every time she comes close to finding that happily ever after, she runs?”
- Falling by Meredith Bond <— PAST LIFE COUPLE “When he hypnotizes Erin to seek a cure for her fears, they discover instead an ancient connection. In a past life, he was a medieval knight and her illicit lover… before things went very wrong.”
- Learning to Breathe Again by by Kelli Heneghan <— HE’S THERE FOR HER WHEN SHE COLLAPSES “…when Bayleigh almost collapses in his office, he’s determined to help her and keep her safe. Stranded by an ice storm, Jack is the only one there to pick up the pieces when she has a panic attack.
- Found By You (The Spring Rose Bay Series Book 1) by K.L Jessop <— SHE’S AFRAID TO LOVE AGAIN… “That was until she found herself in the arms of a stranger. His generosity was foreign to her; his ability to make her trust was overwhelming.”
- Maestro (Homecoming) by R. A. Salvatore <— FANTASY and appears that it’s a HUGE mover and shaker, and it’s a part of a series!
- Hold by Claire Kent <— SUPER-SALE and one of our fellow readers is LOVING IT!!!
Laura: I can’t recall if I found The Hold by Claire Kent on one of your new releases lists but it’s terrific. I stayed up way too late because I just had to know how the story ended. Will Riana survive the brutal prison? Does Cain actually have any feelings for her or is she just a possession? Cain and Riana’s relationship starts off as one of survival that slowly changes into a complicated love. Will likely appeal to readers who enjoyed Michelle O’Leary’s “The Third Sign”.
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything!)

Fearless… Mine!
How did I not know about Forest of Ruin. I’m checking the library for that one right now.
Glittering Court does sound like the Selection. Librarying that too. I love Rochelle Mead, so I’ll probably love it.
YAY Tessa!!! So happy to help!!! 😀
You totally did. Especially Forest of Ruin. I really love the Age of Legends series. It’s scifi with a lot of fantasy elements. So big thank you! *squeezie hugs*
Tessa, I got a sample of Glittering Court already. But I didn’t notice Forest of Ruin. Running off to check that one out.
Ugh! I’m blind. I still don’t see it.
Fabi it’s #3 in the Paranormal section…
Sensory OVERLOAD!
hahahahahah!!!!! Yes… today for sure.
LOL!!! Thank you Maryse!
*snort* My pleasure, Fabi! 😉
ooohhhh, I’m getting this one: The Trouble with Time (Time Rats Book 1) by Lexi Revellian <—that's Fabi's alley!
Marsye, Lisa Hughey just popped up with a new release in the Cipher Series. Thought that was dead but just got a newsletter
Hi Maryse! If you want to add “The After of Us”, it ‘s is on pre-order for only 99 cents (limited time) and will release on April 7. 🙂
Does anyone know how bad the CH is in Paper Princess? Like, does it just set things up for the next book or is it a scream-at-my-iPad CH?
I really want to give PP a shot because it sounds SO good, but after the season finale of Walking Dead (STILL furious over that) I’m going to lose my sh!t if I run into another horrid CH…
And no, I still haven’t started Stanton yet. No real reading time the last few days. 😕
Maryse…you started Stanton, right? What do you think of it so far?
It’s only second hand news, but I heard PP has a scream-at-my-iPad CH
Well, damn.
Thanks Fabi. 😉
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT….WAITING FOR REST OF PAPER PRINCESS…
THANKS FABI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh come on Amy. Maryse said if you read PP she will watch Sherlock for you.
PS Love Downton Abbey. Maggie Smith is amazing. Best one liners, so quick.
Amy, Cristina said in the previous post—> ” Warning: The CH is a doozie!! The next book is a continuation of the story.”
So, on my tbr waiting for sequel list.
Cool Cheryl. You have one of those lists too. We’ll just give these wonderful authors enough time to actually finish their book, and then we’ll read it. 🙂
Ok I’m just going to go ahead and bitch…. I think it is ridiculous how long we have waited for the sequel to the Crossfire series. It is pretty bad when I practically have to re-read the entire series bc I can’t remember it before I read the last book. I love Gideon but will think very hard about purchasing any other “series” books from Sylvia Day. Now that I have that off my chest I am really excited about all my reading options in the next couple of weeks. YEAH
ME !!!!
I stayed up all night and finished PP and it was great! Reminded me of the fallen crest series. And yes, I did a scream-at-my-kindle at the end. But I went in knowing to expect the CH and I’m not disappointed bc it was GOOD!
Yeah what Julie O said!!!! AND I’m feeling very very pouty because I too love Gideon and I’ve only been skimming the reviews ever so delicately but the reviews are really upsetting me!!!! I don’t want a s#*tty ending to this series. K I’m done now!!!!!
*giggle*… *snort*… *bust a gut guffaw* All of y’all are talking about Paper Princess… for the love of all that’s holy… can we please type it out… no PP… *tear*
sorry, I haven’t been sleeping much since hubby’s surgery so I’ve regressed to the humor of a 10 year old today…
I’m at 70% of Unseen Messages, then I’m going in with The Beast. If Paper Princesses is scream at my kindle, there is no way… just no. Can’t do it. And if I’m gonna have to reread all the Crossfire books… that’s a no too.
LOL!!!!!
I just re-read it a la “Grey” and now I’m reading “I just finished pipi”
hahahahah!!
After pp I’m onto Beast…
So excited especially about The Beast. Love Rhage <3 My favorite Brother!!!!
Books 3 & 4 of the Broken Love series by B.B. Reid are $.99 right now, down from $2.99….I guess the price went down because book 5 came out today (see above new releases). Books 1 & 2 are about one couple, books 3 & 4 are another couple (I think the main male characters are twin brothers). Then I think book 5 features both couples.
Amy… I’m not far enough into (Stanton) it to have an opinion either way, but the start and the emotion and the intensity HOOKED me… the reveal too!
Then they had a fight, and she said his name like 50 times in the span of 2 pages and I was all… whoa.
Okay I’m exaggerating on the amount of times the heroine said his name as she was yelling at him, but it was just distractingly overwhelming so I put it down for a bit (I think perhaps it was missed in editing) and then I’ll try again…
Hmm. Maybe one of the issues that happens with two writers. I was thinking of reading that one when I was finished with Isla and the Happily Ever After.
I probably still will. The set up sounds fun.
It’s weird though. I like the bad boy/good girl angsty reads. When they first hate each other but slowly fall. But, and big BUT, not too much hate. Not when it’s all screaming and name calling the whole time. I feel like I’m hearing it. Then they end up unlikable. I need the barbs to have some humor and love when it turns slowly into banter as they are around each other more.
I thought Act Like It did this well though maybe not angst or hate filled enough for some. She disliked him and he just disliked everyone.
Ok, that was a ramble.
Awesome list! I will start with The Glittering Court since I’ve been waiting for it, although it has some mixed reviews. Won’t be until this weekend thou since I have 3 books partially read; Dirty Red, Avoiding Responsibility and After I Do (audible). At least they are all ones that have been sitting in my TBR that maybe (ok never) will get smaller…
Got one off my TBR list – Bad Things. Now who is reading the Beast- I have this series in Hardcover so I get to see the great cover
Just watched Man Up a fast and pretty good romcom.
Yep!! *High fives Fabi*
Dear God, after waiting 4 years there better not be a sh!tty ending to the Crossfire Series!
I don’t know why but found thsee two stories cute. I just listened to a interview of Emma Thompson. She told the story that her husband was told that he would meet his future wife on the set of Sense and Sensibility. And since she was married he tried to woo Kate Winslet believing it was her. The interviewer asked if she could mention how handsome Emma’s husband, Greg Wise, is. And Emma laughed and said no he is beautiful and that waking up to see that face every day is an aesthetic pleasure.
Theresa, which Bad Things did you read? Or, by who, I should say?
Mmm. One Second by Dannika Dark is out at last. Hooray. It’s tucked away in Paranormals at No. 12. Final book in the Seven series. A good strong well-written series if you like shifters/ werewolves. This series is an original take on werewolves, with interesting characters, some nice romance, some suspense and adventure. (Nice cover too …) I’m ready to jump back into that world right now with One Second. (Where’s my coffee and chocolate biccies?)
Fabi, Bad Things. R K Liley . Read Up in the Air last year but was waiting for price drop in series. Got Bad Things a while back but just read. What a roller coaster! I hope the other books drop in price. I think it left me in a good spot to put on back burner.
The Dannika Dark I need to start over, think I read the first one.
Reading the Beast in hardcover, playing with my eyes on the print. And the language and wordy explanations throughs me off until I get i to it.
The CH in Paper Princess is definitely throw the Ipad/Kindle kind of ending. I would suggest to all those that do not like CHs to wait for the next book, but then there’s another after that in October too.
I read some of the reviews on the last Crossfire book and they are definitely mixed. Cheryl, I’m with you! I hope it’s not a horrible ending after waiting this long! Honestly the only thing that could really disappoint me, is if there isn’t a proper epilogue. After this long journey with these two, I want it all and then some! Normally I don’t read reviews on sequels, but after the Ground Rules #3 debacle of 2016, I come prepared now. I only read them if it’s about a series that I’m deeply invested in. I can’t go through that again. I try to come prepared now. 😉
Is anyone reading or already read One With You?
This list is out of control! I like the sound of Save Me and Catching Summer.
I just finished Backstage Pass (yes, I’m late to the game) and absolutely loved it! Damn, the sex was hot in this book! Loved all the band members and look forward to their individual stories!
I’m only up to book 10 of BDB seris, but with The Beast out, it really makes me want to get back to it asap! That price though…..damn…
Jean, is Backstage Pass by Elizabeth Nelson or by Olivia Cunning? Also, can you tell me if the story went into a little detail about the music aspect of the plot?
Oooh, Jean! Next is Sed’s book. I loved that one. Sed and Eric are my two favorite stories. Sed’s is hot and funny. *grins*
Theresa, how can you read that end of Bad Things and be content? I went into shock, then waited (im)patiently for the next. That series hurt so much.
Fabi, I didn’t know there was a different Backstage Pass. The one by Olivia is filled with music aspects. That is a HUGE pet peeve of mine: rock star romances without a rock star life. Olivia Cummings is the epitome of portraying the music making portion right.
Fabi, Olivia Cunning…..and yes, what Tessa said, it’s filled musical aspect. I really loved it! Jumped right into book 2!
yeaa, yeaa, yeaa, I’m adding Backstage Pass to my read next tbr right now.
Sheesh, Jean, your recs lately have kept me squeeing like a little girl.
Tessa, was it you who recommended Existence by Abbi Glines? I’m listening to it right now and I love it!
Tessa, not content, just was a good enough ending to switch over to The Beast. Trying to wait fior price drop plus I have so many preorders coming out. Also, it was heart retching but slow for me. I really like romantic suspense. Or more twists, kinda flat for me.
Maryse…psst Maryse *whispers* you know…we haven’t had a cover model interview in a while and … remember that cover model for Logan Kade? Yeah, just thought I’d whisper a reminder in your ear. 😉
Yay fabi! I’m only 16% into book 2 (Rock Hard) and wow, this series is just getting better and better! I am loving Sed’s story! Kicking myself for not reading it sooner….I’ve had it downloaded since 2013!
wow, 3 years and it finally found it’s way to the top of your tbr. I’m not sure I’ll ever get to any of the books I downloaded that long ago. I can barely keep up with the ones coming out and new recs that I want to read.
Jean, isn’t Sed a laugh? I’m so glad you like the series!
Fabi, either me if Amy. I think? I think Amy recommended it and I piped up in saying how much I loved it.
I have to say this. Ove only recommended one music based story that wasn’t heavy on the music aspect. That story was so character driven, I let it slide. Other than that, if I recommend a music story, it will be heavy in music aspects. 🙂
I’m on a huge paranormal kick again. Finished Born in Fury yesterday. Now I can’t decide between Harrison’s The Drafted or Mead’s Bloodlines.
OK, then thank you Amy and Tessa for the Existence rec. I’m loving it.
Tessa, good to know about your music plot recs. There’s nothing more annoying for me than picking up a book with a music driven plot only to find out that music was only vaguely mentioned throughout the book.
Or the book is just” lyrics writing”. *eye twitches* I hate that. No actual music, just poetry.
Fabi, cover model interview you say?! *turns slightly with eyebrows raised*
Maryse, I happily nominate the cover model for Ricochet by Keri Lake. Ya know, just in case you need another option. 😉
oooh, Tessa, major pet peeve. I love music but don’t love poetry. I know that’s weird, but it is what it is. I just hate the “lyrics books”.
Tessa, can I just assume you read Maybe Someday? The way Ridge played guitar and listened to her singing. *sigh* I will never get over the beauty of that book. (<— there are no spoilers in that statement)
Cristina! OMG yes!
Fabi and Tessa, I feel the same way about the music aspects in a story.
Fabi, I LOVE music, but not a fan of poetry. It’s not weird at all. The music (beat and/or voice) is what makes the words come alive. I could read a poem and think “meh,” but put it with the right melody and/or voice and BAM!, it reverberates throughout my body. mind, and soul. I’m a huge music lover. I could literally spend hours with my headphones on. Kind of like that Matt Nathanson song, “Headphones.” That’s totally me. 🙂
Fabi, and that guy of the cover of Ricochet… holy hell. I’d love the scoop on that beautiful man!
If you need any help with that interview Maryse, I could totally make myself available, any place and any time! I’d use my emergency back-up Kindle fund to help pay for that plane ticket and that is saying something! 😉
Oh boy… interviewing cover models again, huh? Hmmm… that might be fun! LOL! Oh the Ricochet guy… he’s just WOW!!
*on* not of… my typing skills lately have been that of a second grader. Lol
Alrighty then…going in with One With You…low expectations…
I did love Maybe Someday. That par was so sweet. I like poetry, but I play poems musically in my head. I always have. So that’s not what bugs me about the lyrics thing, but more it doesn’t feel real. Music writing is lyrics and music working together, not here are lyrics, make it work. *wrinkles nose*
Yes! I second that request for the cover model of Ricochet!
Tessa, yes I’m loving Sed and really can’t wait for Jace and Trey’s books!
Fabi, I took Amy’s advice and created folders for the years I downloaded the books and have been trying to jump from year to year to clean up my list. Of course I get sidetracked by new shiny releases. But I’ve found some good ones like the Sinners, Red Hill, Bone Deep….so it’s somewhat working!
I’ve been trying to figure out for a while how Amy figured out when she downloaded her books. Are you going by date of purchase on Amazon and using the Amazon Manage your Content and Devices list?
Ohhhh, I loved that series by Olivia Cunning. Didn’t I hear that she released a new one in that series relatively recently?? I must investigate that. Because that author is bank… and the smut *fans self* mmmhmmm… But music and rockstars… those books had it all!
Still on the island…
At 89% however…
Fabi, that would be one way to do it, but I had a spreadsheet I started a long time ago that I add the books I buy by date purchased. It took some time to organize in Kindle, but was so worth it!
Grey, I am loving these rockstars! They are each so unique, not just in their personalities, but their sexuality. Loving this series! Can’t put it down!
I LOVED Hold by Claire Kent. it was one of my favorite books from 2015. STEAMY!!
Tessa, read Bloodlines not near as good as the oruginal series too YA fir me and too slow. Didn’t try Harrison’s new series, let me know on that one. I loved the Hollows!
Tessa, dud you read Jennifer Ashley’s shifter series still going too. It’s different- they came out and humans put them in shifter towns. Good series I think. Paige Tyler has a more suspense series ai like ad well still going
I don’t think I’ve read her shifter series. It’s been a while since I’ve read her. I should check the library for it. I remember liking her.
Theresa, that’s the Shifter’s Unbound series. I’ve read the first four. One of those series I keep meaning to get back to.
Ok, finally finished re-reading Captivated By You, so I’m starting One With You. Ms. Day owes us a stellar finale and an awesome epilogue after jerking us around for 4 years! *crosses fingers- if not, she goes on the do not read author list* :>
Jean, Eric’s story will shock you with how utterly sweet he is.
Finally finished unseen messages. Whew… Now, on to the Beast!!!
Oh, Theresa, I’m remembering trying to read Bloodlines and yeah. Too much travel without substance for me. Anyone else read it? Is there more than travel?
I finished “The Matchplayer’s Playbook” by Rachel Van Dyken today. I was ready for a light-hearted read this time around. It was a really great romantic comedy, reminiscent of Emma Chase’s books. Ian Hunter and his best friend, Lex, run a company called “Wingmen, Inc.” Basically they help the frumpy, shy girls land their dream men, essentially by playing their “Wingman.” And of course there are rules. However, things get messy when Ian starts falling for his latest client who happens to be rooming with his other best friend, Gabi. There is a lot of great and witty banter between the characters which had me laughing out loud at times. I like the concept of the story and it kept my attention the entire time. A solid 4.5 stars! If you’re in the mood for a romantic comedy, I recommend this one!
Maryse did you see that Penny Reid has the Player and the Pixie coming out next week?
YAY Renee!! Thank you for pointing that one out! I’m posting it. 😀
GAH! The spring quarter started this week, and being the amazingly bright person I am (*eyeroll*) I thought they started next week. At least I bought all of my books and supplies a couple of weeks ago so when I checked my calendar on Sunday I was ready to go. BUT I have had no reading time, my brain is fried (I love science classes but damn…), and I miss being able to chat with y’all whenever I want! 🙁 I. MISS. YOU. GUYS!!!!
Yay Fabi!!! I really, really liked the Existence series. And it’s no surprise you’re lovin’ Jean’s recs…she always makes good ones. 😉
Fabi, that’s exactly how I did it…I went to the manage content and devices page, then I sorted it by purchase date, oldest to newest. From there I just toggled back and forth between the collections in my Kindle app and the purchases page, and it *was* a bit time consuming but actually pretty easy. And now I’m SO glad I did that because I don’t freak out as much about my unread books when I know I’m actually making a dent in the older purchases. 😉
Alright, last comment before I head to bed. See what happens when I don’t chat with y’all throughout the day? Word vomit.
Tessa…are you talking about the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead? I read all of them and actually liked them better than her VA series, but I also always loved Adrian more than Dimitri (sp?), and I was so mad at Rose over what she did to Adrian. And even though I didn’t care for Sydney in VA, I *loved* her in the BL series. What I loved was how Sydney grew and changed so much throughout BL, and Adrian wasn’t the typical bada$$ H like Dimitri. He was just…Adrian. Cocky and arrogant but such a sweetheart and so vulnerable once he allowed her to see it. Book 1 was okay, but things REALLY seemed to pick up by book 2 and just got better from there. And this totally summed up how us Adrian lovers felt at the end of book 2…
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/257845503?book_show_action=true&from_review_page=1
Sydney, Adrian, and red slushies…so freaking sweet, that scene.
Thanks Theresa for reminding me about Shifters Unbound. Think I read Book 1 ages ago and liked it but then I must have gotten sidetracked by something else on the TBR. I’m just in the mood for some shifters, too. Cristina, I’m liking the sound of the Rachel Van Dyken. I love a good romantic comedy. Might give it a try when my shifter urges are sated. (Hang on, I don’t think that came out right…???)
I just finished last night Easy Virtue and then followed with Sweetest Venom Virtue series 2 by Mia Asker. SoOooo So So Good. best book this year has everything heaps of feeling and lots of Angst. Has a similar feel of Tristan and Danika. Especially through the second book. Keeps your emotions on tender hooks right until the end. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed. Book 1 is cliff hanger so lucky I didn’t start until book 2 came out.
Amy, girl, you have a lot going on with moving AND starting school. Best of luck with your new classes.
“Ants under the skin.” The Beast by J.R. Ward. *squeeeee*
See now I was all for TEAM DIMITRI (love me the dark broading (sp?) alpha badass) Adrian was ok….nice and sweet but NOT the guy for Rose JUST NO! I read the first book in BL and thought it was meh so I gave up but now I have new hope, thanks Amy…
Reading One With You and let me just say that Damn this book seems LONG!
“”I’ll f**k you there, given the chance,” I said tightly, “but I’m not sleeping with you.”” One With You, Sylvia Day
FLT
“It’s midnight, it’s sweltering, and I might be high on vicodin, but that guy–that guy right over there–that’s him.
The him.”
Ok two lines. I have not had time to read it since I almost stayed up all night. Really like it and when do finish onto PP.
Should say it’s from Isla aND the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.
I like your first line Bev.
I had no idea today was Thursday. As I was drinking my coffee this morning, I was wracking my brain trying to figure out if today was Tuesday or Wednesday. I finally gave up and looked at my phone. :-O It’s Thursday. Happy day. Only one more until the weekend when I plan on vegging out with nothing but reading.
“It’s hard to arrest a man who owns a time travel device; if he sees you coming he can press a couple of buttons and be sometime else.” The Trouble with Time by Lexi Revellian
I’ve been reading A Thousand Boy Kisses and have completely fallen out of touch with the rest of the world. I don’t know what I thought about it. It was an emotional ride, that’s for sure. But the epilogue? I think I need answers if anyone’s read it! I gave it 3 stars, my 17 yr old gave it 100 stars lol.
Now I’m reading 2 books, “Stanton” finally and “Yes, Mr. Van Der Wells,” and since everyone seems to have already read the first one, I’ll quote the first line from the second. “My wife is a whore.”
Happy reading!
First line Thursday:
“Within seconds of meeting a man, Aggie could assign him to one of two lists.” (Hot Ticket, book 3 of Sinners on Tour series, Olivia Cunning). Loving it… can’t stop reading this series!
What two lists???
Jean I read the first one after I’d read something Maryse said about it being explicitly jaw dropping (summarizing there). I’ll admit it, I was curious 😉 My husband was a huge Dimebag fan, so he got a kick out of the dedication. I on the other hand struggled not to picture him as Brian! No thanks!
I was surprised how much I liked it! Good to know you are enjoying the rest of them since I have the whole set. I usually don’t like series that leap from one protagonist to the next, but maybe I should give it a try!
Renee, each book is so unique in its own way!
Here ya go fabi,
List A: Men Not Worth My Time. List B: Men I’d Like to F#@k.
haaaaa, she has no middle ground huh?
Oooh, Jace was third, not Eric? Jace’s is okay. His brand of insecurity, though, just melts me. I will say, though, it’s my least favorite of all of them. I think it had more to his sexual preferences rather than anything wrong with the story.
Amy, I’ll give it a second t(third?) try. I don’t remember who I was rooting for in VA. I read the series too long ago, and none grabbed my heart like Seth did. First, I have to finish a book I started a while ago and then left behind.
FLT:
‘Some job.’
Tackled by Sabrina Paige
Yeah, that’s it as a first line. 😛 I like this, but only 3.5 stars worth so far. I’m over half way through and I don’t really know the characters that well. It’s definitely steamy, though.
Thanks Fabi! My middle-aged brain is NOT absorbing info like when it was a 20-year-old brain. *snort*
Ela…you should give BL a chance again! I agree that Adrian was not for Rose (Dimitri definitely WAS) but I loved Adrian and hated what she did to him. 🙁 BL really delved into his mental issues because of Spirit and it endeared him to me even more. But the pictures of him on the covers…NO. That is NOT my Adrian. *shakes head*
idk Amy, my 20 year old brain could only think “boys, boys, boyzzz”. I wasn’t exactly focused on schoolwork. :-/
NO AMY THAT IS NOT ADRIAN ON THE COVERS AND I EVEN PICTURED SYDNEY DIFFERENTLY (BETTER, NOT SO STUCK UP)… I shall give the series another try….
Where as Sinners on Tour, I still need to read 3 and 4 because the author or her publisher decided to release 5 before 3 and 4 at the time they were all being systematically released….5 IS HAWT Trey’s loving ways were just out of this world….just sayin’
Tessa, Tackled was going to be next for me, but I’m still on tour with the Sinners! Lol! Keep me updated on how you like it.
LOL Fabi!!!! Fortunately I was married when I started college waaaaayyyyy back when, so I wasn’t chasing boys anymore…if I *had not* been married then I probably would have been a raging slut and lovin’ every minute of it. Yeah, I said it. 😛
Ela…Sydney WAS stuck up to begin with and she changed SO much throughout the series to the point where I absolutely adored her by the end. Keep me updated when you read it so I can relive it vicariously through you!
OOOOH!!! I just saw your comment about reading BL, Tessa…YES!! Read it!!!! 😀
Renee, the epilogue in Boy Kisses…I may not have ugly cried with that book, but holy moly was that epilogue a gut punch! 😕
Amy…but how!! I need to know the “how”!
Off topic, I just noticed there’s another Renee. Should I change my screen name or will it lock me out like it did when I tried to use a different email?
*sobs* I need Manny….
*grabs Manny and hands it over to Grey*
Alright, that from the Beast book? *hugs her and hands over a white russian* Need a blankie fort too?
*Nods and sniffles incoherently* I need all the feels-healers for this one.
Grey – from The Beast??? no way
Manny was in the back of a moving truck and saw his chance.
He made a break for it.
Be free little man, be free!
I can say that there has been a whole lot of Brother Vishous so far who is my very favorite of all of the BDB…. So there is that. (I had to put kindle down and walk away.)
*grabs Manny again and hands him to Grey*
*puts up a blankie fort*
It’s gotta be bad to have that reaction.
Oh I’m loving the sound of this…
I love J.R. Ward, my 5 minute break is over, I drank my drink, I’ve got Manny and I’m in the blankie fort…I may or may not have a bottle or two of wine and chocolate with me, just in case LOL!
No. No. No. Manny is in the keys with his people. Maryse will say hello for you.
He’s in the KEYS??! Who has him. I wanna snuggle!
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQhFTib1n5Wt1GOt2OHeoePLGZlZYvPUqxaLOcWxoDZItlDtlAE
Awww look we have two Mannys now. Manny and Manny Jr.
Wait!?? Where did Manny Jr. come from? I’ve been so stuck in my Paper Princess drama world (fun!!) that I missed much of the manny-talk…
Wow, Grey’s reaction to The Beast is a little scary and upsetting. I gotta catch up on that series asap!
Haha bev! Manny will never escape us!
First Line Thursday: “Ants under the skin.” well… that sucks,,, so let me add line two… “As Rhage transferred his weight from one shitkicker to the other, he felt like his bloodstream had come to a soft boil and the bubbles were tickling the underside of every square inch of his flesh” NOW THAT’S MORE LIKE IT. – The Beast, JR Ward.
It’s a good thing I love this series so much and have invested so much time into it and adore the main characters. Ms. Ward is sometime hard to read. I just ignore it after a while. Too much modern weird lingo from the brothers only, and then the ones from Europe sound like a Regency novel, and then there’s the aristocracy from Caldwell…. LOL… just too much! But I love Rhage and all the brothers, so I will put up with it.
I am not planning on reading Sylvia Day. Can’t remember where they left off and it’s just been too long. I don’t care anymore! Sad, I know. The only novel I will wait that long for in a series is Outlander.
I, too, loved the Sinners on Tour. It was my first ever Rock Star read – and it was also the first review I ever read of Maryse’s. LOL. Yup….
Hopefully I can get some good reading time in this weekend. Need to get back to Stanton series too.
MichelleS!!! #1 in the Sinners on Tour was my VERY FIRST contemporary romance read (and sort of indie, too). I was strictly paranormal for years, and needed a change, and that one was free, so I downloaded it, read it, FELT IT, freaked out and continued to devour one after the other in the “bad boy” genre (mostly all indie since that one).
Coming up for air….just finished Captivated by You….totally loved it. To me, it was better than book 3. Not sure why I waited sooo long to read it! Diving into One with You NOW! YAY ME!!!
Renee…it doesn’t say how. Location 5289, top of the page (on my Kindle) is the most info we get on that. 😉
*peeks in on Grey in the blankie fort and gives thumbs up* Looks like you’re good to go. Man, all of that from The Beast?? I wish I wasn’t so far behind on the BDB series. 😕
*gasp* Manny would never leave us!! That picture was photoshopped, I tell ya.
Alright, I finally have a bit of reading time so I’m off to start NOLA. I’ll never take reading time for granted again!
That’s Manny and his mama. Look at him. He is totally trying to hide. Told her he doesn’t want to go back to those women who get snuffles, chocolate, and wine all over him.
Reading One With You. Boy, this is dragging. We know both of them are f&cked up so how many times do we have to read about how they are managing/not managing their feelings?! More psychobabble than story. I do love me some Gideon but…
Amy what’s BL?
Sugar Rush by Tracey Ward was released today. I read the previous book Rookie Mistake. NFL players- Each book in the Offensive Line series is a STANDALONE following a different player every time.
Thank you Cheryl! I’m adding it to today’s Friday Finds list. 😀
No, that’s Manny’s twin. I’M his adoptive mama! Oh, and he loves chocolate and wine. Like his mama. 😛
Cheryl…it’s the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. I guess that’s not a good acronym, huh? It’s a spinoff of the Vampire Academy series and SO good, especially for those of us who loved Adrian.
I randomly picked a book off my TBR list entitled, “Sweetest Sin” by Sosie Frost. So in honor of first line Thursday, here is the first line:
“Forgive me, Father… We can’t do this anymore.” Oh yes!
And… Here’s another excerpt:
Father Rafe: “It is not a transgression if we speak after Mass, or if you help me carry supplies for the youth group, or if we stay late to clean the nave. These are not sins – unless you have succombed another way..”
Honor: “I swallowed. I had surrendered to something worse. Something damning. Something amazing.”
(She says out loud to Father Rafe)
“Bless me Father. I HAVE sinned.”
I’m about 46% in and it’s pretty damn good! We’ll see.. I’m about to dive back in now!
Oh. MY Cristina!!!! Yep… this sounds like a fun guilty-pleasure!!
Hey Amy! It’s good to see you back in here! I hope you’re settled in? We missed you too! 🙂
Alright, BL now. 🙂 Especially if two will be better.
Well damn, Cristina…I had to click that one immediately. Taboo, taboo, TABOOOOOOOOO!!!!! And you’re so sweet. *hugs* Not even close to settled in with still trying to finish up at the old house and taking classes but, meh…*shrugs* We’ll get there. 😉
Yep Tessa, book 2 is better than book 1, and in book 3 things REALLY take off. I’m so excited you’re reading them!!! 😀
One day at a time Amy… just see it that way, and it will all get done. 😀
It’s late but I had to pass these along…there are some GOOD ones in the list!

I’m going to have to check out Bloodlines myself. I haven’t had a good paranormal in a while. I’m trying to remember who Adrian was? I read Vampire Academy, but it was over a year ago.
Amy, I’ve moved several times over the last 10-15 years. I had three small kids, all less than two years apart, and a husband that worked 60-80 hours a week. One thing I learned that eventually became my mantra is “It’ll get done when it gets done.” You’ll get there. 😉
Amy, so exciting, but tiring. I’m only taking 1 to 2 classes, online, and it, occasionally,is kicking my reading butt.
Wow! Thanks Amy!
Cheryl! I couldn’t agree with you more on this One With You situation…dragging and honestly I am not getting answers!
Bloodlines soon, Amy! I need to tackle the Beast, and now I’m kinda scared after reading Grey’s reactions!
And…. I’m extra excited after reading Grey’s reactions. LOL! 😛
I just finished One with You by Sylvia Day!! Waaa!! I loved it!! I’m sad because it’s over. What an amazing series!! Sylvia is an awesome writer!! Loved Gideon & Eva’s story through each book!!! This was one series that I didn’t have to reread the previous books!! That says a lot, especially since there was a year or so in between each book!! So excited that I got to meet Sylvia in Toronto & got her latest book signed!!! Highly recommend this series. Lucky, whoever is just reading this series gets to read non stop from book to book!!!
Maryse! So funny. It was my SECOND contemporary read (BD was first) and how I found your blog. I had devoured every PNR out there, every sexy Highlander, and was ready for the modern world… And had read 50 shades, but didn’t want exactly that either. It’s all been downhill ever since because I waffle all over the place.
