in Latest Book Releases

MERRY CHRISTMAS MONTH :D !!! The list is ready, but don’t forget to check out yesterday’s “earlybird” list ’cause there are a few on there that look AWESOME: 12 earlybird book releases

ALSO BREAKING NEWS UPDATE for Wednesday (today!!): Look what just went LIVE today!! A new one from J.A. Huss! Anarchy Found – Alpha Lincoln <— about a super-villain! This story is set in a contemporary world. It is NOT PARANORMAL. —–>

“WHAT IF… you fell in love with a supervillain?”

Some of ‘em below that gave me blurb jolts? Of course!!! A few of the paranormals are from my favorite series so I can’t help but be excited! The latest BDB (spinoff) of course has my attention! Blood Kiss (she leaves her cushy-wealthy home to train with the BDB, and struggles with the men’s bad ‘tudes) <— *gasp*!!!), Oblivion (Daemon’s POV for 3 WHOLE BOOKS!!), Sweet Ruin (I was a total Immortals After Dark junkie, and this is the latest one!!), Misconduct (teacher is attracted to student’s jerk-butt father!! SWEET!!! :P *snort*), Shifting Gears (she’s broke, back at her mom’s and crushing on her race-car driver boss!), Illusion (in the bargains, but they are strangers, kidnapped and left on an island?? YES PLEASE!!!), Forgetting August (he’s her ex, in a coma and she’s scared of him, but then he wakes up… and can’t remember anything…), Ryan’s Letters (dead wife, that he writes letters to… and then sees her reading them?!! *gasp* WHAT WHAT WHAT??? But you must read book #1 first, I *think*)

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! :D )

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!
  1. Blood Kiss: Black Dagger Legacy, Book 1 by J.R. Ward
  2. Sweet Ruin: Immortals After Dark, Book 16 by Kresley Cole
  3. Shadow’s End: Elder Races Series #9 by Thea Harrison
  4. The Best Goodbye by Abbi Glines

  6. Dirty Little Secrets: A J.J. Graves Mystery, Book 1 by Liliana Hart <— Liliana Hart just announced this deal! “The audiobook for DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS is marked down… until December 2nd.”

BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order).

  1. Illusion (Swept Away Book 1) by J.S. Cooper <— PSYCH THRILLER ALERT!!! The conclusion to the trilogy was just released today (see it below), so book #1 is on super-sale right now, and OMG I MUST READ THIS!! “Bianca finds herself kidnapped and locked up in a van with a strange man. Ten hours later, they’re dumped on a deserted island…”
  2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas <— This one’s on BIG sale right now and it is a HUGE favorite here!! I just one-clicked it… Rebecca HIGHLY recommends it to us! She says: “Fantasy romance has been rocking my world!! My faves so far: A Court Of Thorns And Roses, which is an adult retelling of Beauty And The Beast, badass fairies. Amazing imagery, characterisation, emotional feels. Violence.”
  3. Priest: A Love Story by Sierra Simone <— Nancy found this one for us, super-bargain priced!
  4. The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith <— Back on the list, ’cause our fellow readers are coming back with feedback on it, and Tracey loved it! “Just finished The Last hour of Gann by R Lee Smith wow was that an epic read 1277 pages in total . Being stranded on an alien world is not my usual cup of tea read however the writer really painted a world and its characters so vividly I was hooked and is it disturbing that my new book boyfriend is a lizard ??”
  5. Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo <— It’s for kids (or YA) but Fabi LOVES this one! “I think I mentioned it on Friday’s thread. It’s called Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo. It was sooo good. The cover and title (and even the blurb) do not do it justice. It’s easily in my top 2015 reads. It’s about a boy and a girl and superpowers and good/bad guys and…but wait…it’s really a coming of age story with some pretty deep topics concerning bullies, and morals, and loyalty and shame and betrayal and…well, shoot. I loved it. In spite of the lack of “s*x”, it had a sweet love story.”
  6. Nobody’s Baby But Mine (Chicago Stars Book 3) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips <— MichelleS is reading this one! “I am now reading one of Bev’s recommendations, an “oldie” in the Chicago Stars series (Nobody’s Baby but Mine). She’s a nerd, he’s a jock. That formula totally works for me.”
  7. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli <— YA M/M romance book (although I’m not sure if it’s M/M romance or gay fiction/coming of age) but bev is into this one!! “50% in and Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda is really good. Love Simon’s “voice”.” and it’s on super-sale! And then bev updated us! “Can I say again how happy I am with this book and this Simon? Really happy with this find. :-)

  1. Oblivion (A Lux Novel) by Jennifer L. Armentrout <— GASP!! “In this special eBook version, experience OBSIDIAN, ONYX, and OPAL as told by Daemon Black…” and fabi reminds us: “and *squeeee* “The full version of Turn Your Eyes will be available with the purchase of the Oblivion e book as it is embedded in the e book!”” and when the author explains WHY she did his POV for all three books she says:
“There’s a certain part in Oblivion that I can’t wait for you guys to get to. It will take you a while to get there, but when you do, I think you’ll know it’s THAT part, but please be careful when talking about it on social media so you don’t spoil it. This part is one of the reasons why I did all three books in Daemon’s POV. Because I had to get through Opal for THIS to happen.”

The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.” and Ela is excited!! “BDB SPIN OFF??????????? Grey December 1, 2015 at 4:25 PM

Guess what?!?!

It’s December! I don’t have to write. I dont have to do anything, *tra la la la* oh em gee!

A new BDB…surely you jest, I start reading that sucker I may wind up calling in sick to work! However, it will go on the short *presents for me* list. Be right back. Must get on the laptop so I can peruse these options better.

Cheryl December 1, 2015 at 5:37 PM

So many look interesting. I’ve been trying to just read the samples before buying. Lots of samples to read from this list! Thanks Maryse!!!!!

Had to do a double-take when looking at the cover of The Stocking Was Hung…first look appears to show something. LOL!!

Not sure if A Beat In Time is a standalone.

Lisa December 1, 2015 at 7:04 PM

BDB spin off!!!! I usually skim past the PNR so I missed this one. *click*

Thank you so much Maryse for the little side notes about which ones are stand alones. Mmmmwwwwah!
Ya know how I feel about those sneak attack cliffhangers. :)

bev December 1, 2015 at 7:05 PM

This, I think, is really cool. I’m going to do it day by day. First one is so very sweet.

Kathy December 1, 2015 at 7:31 PM

#45 on the list – Defy. If you search that author you can get the bundle for only 99 cents!!

Lisa December 1, 2015 at 7:49 PM

Kathy I read the first one in that series ‘Dare’ and really enjoyed it. Good find.

Maryse December 1, 2015 at 7:51 PM

Just finished book #2 (after “The Man I Love”) and it was so good, but longish (over 500 pages also!!) I’m gonna need fun and lighthearted (and about 300 pages max) for my next.

Maryse December 1, 2015 at 7:52 PM

Yay thank you Kathy!!!! :D

Cheryl December 1, 2015 at 7:55 PM

Maryse, can’t wait to read your review of book #2. I’m still nervous about starting book 1- gotta be in the right mood to have your gut-punched!

bev December 1, 2015 at 8:27 PM

Maryse, I’m going to start Act Like it in just a bit. The review I read loved it and many in the comments were agreeing. Apparently grumpy hero strong heroine. Good sense of place and they sound British. Looks like 200 pages. Like I said haven’t started so can’t say but maybe give it a look.

Robyn December 1, 2015 at 8:47 PM

Lots of lovely little goodies this week!! Thanks Maryse!

JC Diem’s Web Master the next book in The Shifter Squad series is up for pre-order.

Katherine December 1, 2015 at 8:50 PM

The Cornerstone (The Walsh Series #4) , Kate Canterbary releases December 8th. I have really enjoyed this series – it has some angst, is sexy and has characters that I want to be hang around. Shannon has been a favorite of mine in the series and I am looking forward to her getting her own HEA.

Amy December 1, 2015 at 11:00 PM

*giggle* Jerk-butt? I love the names and words that get made up around here, LOL!!

And I know what you mean about reading two long-ish books back to back like that, especially when they are angsty and emotional…I went through that with Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet, but they were SO worth it. Yes, that is me dropping a subtle hint there. ;)

Misconduct, Watch Me Fall and Forgetting August all look like must-read-soon books, but Oblivion is soooooooo tempting just sitting there looking pretty in my library, and I HAVE to know what “that” part is that JA is talking about! Oh man, it’s gonna be fun in Daemon’s head…

fabi December 2, 2015 at 1:06 AM

Amy, when are you going to start it? I’ve been trying to get the songs to play. Amazon is telling me I have to unregister my device, uninstall, reinstall and then re download my books. Then, if that doesn’t work, I have to call them. Ugh…I should have just started reading it. I can NOT wait to get into Daemon’s head. Remember what a “jerk-butt” he was at the beginning? hehehe Its gonna be fuuuunn.

Lisa December 2, 2015 at 3:48 AM

‘Jerk-butt’ *snortsnicker*

Jean December 2, 2015 at 10:06 AM

I couldn’t help but 1-click Illusion!

And now I have to get back to finish the Lux series so I can read Oblivion!!!! That was a total tease from the author up there!

And I have to catch up on the BDB series…..i think I’m on book 10…..damn not enough time in the day!

Amy, I’ve been wanting to read Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet for so long but been waiting for a sale because I’m cheap sometimes! Ha!

Right now I’m on the 2nd book of the Gravity series by Sarina Bowen and I’m loving it! First book was about a professional skier and the 2nd about a professional snowboarder!

Jean December 2, 2015 at 10:24 AM

Oh and of course all the guys in the Gravity series are broken and need saving! Just my type!

Ela December 2, 2015 at 10:24 AM

I too am behind in the Lux series! Ever since I switched to NA or R-rated books I kind of left YA behind :(

Sofia Grey December 2, 2015 at 12:36 PM

YES to the Gravity series and the lovely broken heroes :-)

I’m hanging back on the BDB spin offs for the moment. I fell out of love with the last couple of BDB and I’m not sure if I’m ready to jump back to that world yet :-( Anyone else feel that way?

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 1:15 PM

Reading Blood Kiss. Spin offs are usually just OK. I’m about 37% in. Same great J. R Ward. Got some of the brothers in already. So thats good. I was ‘t thrilled with The Shadows either. But enjoying this less complicated book. Good mix of new characters with old.

Fabi December 2, 2015 at 1:20 PM

Theresa I can’t decide whether to start Oblivion (with over 1,000 pages) or start Blood Kiss. I may go with Blood Kiss simply because I’m frustrated with the Oblivion “songs” not working on my Kindle app. The Blood Kiss synopsis sounds really good. I reminds me of the early(er) BDB. Does it have that same feel?

Fabi December 2, 2015 at 2:12 PM

How did I not see Anarchy Found yesterday? *gasp* Mine, mine, all mine!

I think I’ve bought almost 10 books in the last couple of days. Yikes!

Jean December 2, 2015 at 2:21 PM

Yeah fabi! Anarchy Found looks great! My 1-clicker finger has been out of control too!

fabi December 2, 2015 at 2:38 PM

Yup. I just threw my Before the End of the Year list over my shoulder.

I wonder if Ritalin works on “Book ADD”. :-/

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 2:56 PM

Fabi, I think so. It had an intense section and then it is playing out as a love story. No lessor and fighting in the streets yet. But has a back story goiing with one of the brothers and his mate – not sure where that is headed. I think this is about breaking down the class barriers.
Not familiar with Obviolion, but i’m enjoying Blood Kiss. It was a good book waiting tor the Beast next year. Still a Ward lover but I dropped Laurell Hamilton which was at one time a great story line. Also still with Lara Adrian, Kresley Cole if that gives you where my head and tastes are.

fabi December 2, 2015 at 3:01 PM

I read all of those authors’ works too Theresa. Not sure if I’ve read Hamilton. I’d have to check. Thanks for the feedback.

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 3:12 PM

Sweet Ruin is my next read. I like military/security romance as well. I loved callie hart’s Blood and Roses but Rogue was short and kind of a disappointment. Thought it was rushed.
Fabi, if you still like paranormal have you tried Chloe Neill?

fabi December 2, 2015 at 3:14 PM

I definitely still read PNR. Never heard of that author so I’ll check her out. Thanks.

Amy December 2, 2015 at 3:26 PM

Fabi, I haven’t tried the songs yet. Actually, I haven’t even opened it yet as I haven’t had a lot of reading time the last few days, and I want to finish God-Shaped Hole first. If that one isn’t too emotionally draining then I want to read the two books Maryse just read (The Man I Love and it’s sequel), but if I’m wiped out from GSH then I’ll crack open Oblivion for a dose of some hot alien. :P

Jean! I can’t wait for you to read Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet!! The only grumble (and I use that word hesitantly) I had is that the two books together feel more like one looooooong book, but the way the story unfolded by jumping between past and present with heartache and angst in both time periods was FABULOUS!!!! I was getting frustrated with how long it took to get to the gut punch of the past portion, but holy moly was it worth it when I finally DID get what I was wishing for. :D

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 3:32 PM

Fabi, definetely check out Nancy Gideon. Just finished her last book in the moonlight series. Not much chatter but I really like that series and i have read all the big popular ones and this is in the same class for me. Max swooooooon.

Amy December 2, 2015 at 3:32 PM

Sofia, I think the same thing has been mentioned before about the last few books in the BDB series. :? I’m behind on that series, but hearing those things doesn’t make me antsy to get back to it. What would I do without y’all here to give a heads up??

OMG Jean, I was about to freak out on you over Gravity! I thought you meant the one where she walked in on her husband in THEIR BED with another woman while he was banging the woman like a Salvation Army drum. I flipped out over that one ’cause I was so p!ssed over how everything unfolded in it. Whew! It’s not the same one. ;)

Amy December 2, 2015 at 3:35 PM

*grabs Fabi’s ‘before the end of the year’ list*

*tosses said list on pyre of burning TBR lists from this group*

*dances around burning pyre*

fabi December 2, 2015 at 3:40 PM

Hahaha Amy. That’s awesome.

I haven’t read anything in two days because I’m too busy buying new books and can’t decide which of the new shinies should be next.

Ela December 2, 2015 at 3:48 PM

Do the Gravity books have to be read in order?

Amy, which book is it that you speak of with the cheating? I gather it’s one in the Gravity series???

Really loving Final Debt! GO NILA GO …..GET THOSE STUPID A** M*********RS SICK A** TWISTED F*****S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fabi December 2, 2015 at 3:49 PM

I’ve sat here staring at my Kindle for the last 15 minutes. Since I can’t decide between sci fi, PNR, contemporary, mm or YA, I may just go with Anarchy Found. That one sounds off-the-wall enough that it may just hit the spot.

Jean December 2, 2015 at 4:04 PM

Haha Amy….burn baby burn! No its not whatever Gravity you were talking about, and sounds like it would have pissed me off too!

Ela, yeah they should really be read in order…..the 2nd book is about a character from the first book.

Fabi, I get it. Seriously, sometimes I spend more time researching what book I want to read next and waste precious reading time!

Grey December 2, 2015 at 4:34 PM

Whoa…. flag on the play! wtf book are you talking about Amy?!?!

I never got to look at the list yesterday. Scrolling back… Anarchy Found, ooh, yes please. Super Villain?!? *hold. me. back.*

Misconduct. You had me at Jerk-butt. Anything that necessitates a new madeup word is a must-read in my book. And trust me, I write books :D *giggle*

Forgetting August, Ryan’s Letters, Dirty Little Secrets, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Illusions, Resolution & Defy… all make me wanna 1 click! wowsa, is it time for Christmas break yet?

I have a confession, several actually. I’ve never read Oblivion, or Immortals After Dark. *hiding under the blankie fort, holding Manny up for cover*

I am however on book 5 of Indebted… solid reads… enjoying this series!

I am a BDB fan, I agree… the last few books in the series haven’t been as amazeballs as the first. However, I am an addict like that, I have to know how it all ends… I am a V lover… yes, I realize there is a lot of Z addiction around here, but that’s alright, that just means that I have less of you to fight for V’s attention *giggle* So I did hit the one click button and buy Blood Kiss… I am really hoping to see my main man Vishous’s name in this book, because it makes me uber sad if I don’t, true?

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 4:45 PM

Grey, V is iin the beginning for sure, but not in tbe main stream yet anyway. But still reading.

Ela December 2, 2015 at 4:47 PM

I’m on Book 6 of Indebted and totally agree! I’ve been held captive by Nila and Jet (I refuse to call him Jethro, who gives their MC club ultimate rich family a name like that????) I think I’ve been reading for weeks but only days!

Ela December 2, 2015 at 4:52 PM

Of course, Grey, now you’re just going to make me post IAD quotes *evil grin*

“Have you ever fought an opponent you had no defense against? Like a fire breather or an acid spitter?”
“Once I faced a female with diamond skin,” Nix said breathlessly. “I was transfixed – even as she was choking the life out of me.”
“No, I saw that character on X-Men. I just wanted to commiserate. Alas, I have no weaknesses.”
― Kresley Cole, Pleasure of a Dark Prince

Ela December 2, 2015 at 4:53 PM

“Can’t hear… call back… good luck…”
“Nïx, I know you’re faking the static.” She could picture her sister blowing into her fist directly at the receiver. The static abruptly stopped.
“It seemed less rude than the alternative.”
“What’s that?”
― Kresley Cole

Ela December 2, 2015 at 4:55 PM

“Nix to Declan:

“Yo, beautiful. Come pop this collar off me.”
Natalya hissed, “Are you mad?”
“What’s she gonna do? Vivisect me? Imprison me? We’ve got a pact to fulfill, remember?”
To Dorada, she cried, “Seriously, sweetheart, shake that mummified ass over here.”
Regin kicked the glass. “Lemme the f**k out—”
La Dorada swung her head around, peering at Regin with her one eye.

Theresa December 2, 2015 at 5:22 PM

Yeah, Ela! Love me eime Nix,

Jean December 2, 2015 at 5:37 PM

I haven’t read IAD either Ela, but you’re making me want to!

fabi December 2, 2015 at 5:59 PM

OMG Ela, those are awesome quotes!

Grey December 2, 2015 at 6:21 PM

Omg… I just found out what the Third Debt is… Ack!

MichelleS December 2, 2015 at 6:23 PM

Immortals After Dark – best ever for spunky girl meets über alpha. It’s like the amazing race for PNR. Crazy good. I adore Nix (aka Nucking Futs Nix). And werewolves from Scotland? Swoon. Seriously, it’s a must read.

Carolyn December 2, 2015 at 7:21 PM

Hello everyone
I’ve been lurking for a while(wow that comes over waay more creepy stalkerish then I meant)
and have to say Thank YOOOU! for all the amazing recs.
Ela you sold me iad here I come

MichelleS December 2, 2015 at 8:04 PM

This list has me excited.

BDB – I heard this latest spinoff is total old school BDB. One couple is the focus and other people just have cool side parts, not all that multiple storyline stuff. YAY. (A little Rhage may be just what I need).

And Immortals After Dark in the same list? Wow. I will wait to hear feedback on that though. I need fun IAD, and that last one was a DNF for me (ACK! I know. I’ve never done that).

I finished Nobody’s Baby – loved it Bev! It’s why I read romance, for that old fashioned book that I know I will love and has the HEA I need every once in a while. I will keep reading this series for sure. Total go to kind of book.

Now….. this is a dilemma…. start the new BDB? read Illuminae? Read The Nightingale (what a deal that was on cyber Monday), or read Tangled?? hmmm…..

MichelleS December 2, 2015 at 8:08 PM

Tracey – I think I love a lizard-man too! Wasn’t that an amazing book? Even though I thought I had it all figured out, it still blew me away. And his spines flicking constantly? I miss it already…. (One for the prophet, two….) :-)

MichelleS December 2, 2015 at 8:24 PM

Ela – oh man! you would have to mention Declan – that was one of THE best of that series. Regin and her Berserker? Oh man! That one is a re-read for me. That, and Bowen and Mariketta, and Lachlan and Emma. The good old days.

Amy December 2, 2015 at 10:44 PM

Ela and Grey…it’s Gravity by LD Cedergreen, not the Gravity by Sarina Bowen which Jean is reading. The one by LDC had the potential to be heart-wrenching but because of how she took some of the blame for HIS cheating as a way of coming to terms with it, it was completely ruined for me…as if her being stressed because of trying to get pregnant is a good reason for him to pollenate someone else’s garden. *eyeroll*

I feel like I need to say though that I feel this way only in books, and I don’t judge anyone in RL who chooses to stay with their spouse after that happens. Okay, leaping off my soapbox now…

I’ve only read A Hunger Like No Other (book 2 of IAD, right?) but it was GREAT!!! The scene where he finds her and is destroying cars (’cause he doesn’t know what they are) and tossing tables and chairs out of the way, and she feels sorry for whoever he is looking for and then realizes he’s coming straight at her…that was hilarious to me! And the Valkyries…I SO want to live with them. ;)

bev December 2, 2015 at 10:50 PM

Ladies, remember Bronze Horseman this weekend. :-)

Amy, isn’t there a book were that’s the reason the heroine cheats? Because she can’t have a baby?

Amy December 2, 2015 at 10:50 PM

Hi Carolyn!! You’re not creepy at all…I’m glad you came out of lurker status! :D

*big squeezy welcome hug*

Amy December 2, 2015 at 10:57 PM

Ooooooh Bev, that’s tricky…if it’s the one I’m thinking of (a VERY well-loved one around here) then the inability to have a baby due to multiple miscarriages was more of a catalyst, I guess, to her cheating. She couldn’t deal with it and just fell apart, and then she just gave in to the other guy. It was SO wrong on every level and my heart broke for her husband, but I still couldn’t hate her.

And she DID have to deal with the consequences of her decisions, which is what I want to see in books where the h cheats…even though I still always want her to end up with one of them. ;)

bev December 2, 2015 at 10:59 PM

Carolyn, we were all lurkers once. I’m going to say I started lurking in 2011 sometime.
Alright ladies you got to help me. I can not remember the title of the book with the male escort as neighbor. She is a novelist I think. I read it because of this blog.

bev December 2, 2015 at 11:02 PM

Curious, if it had been him instead of her or also would you have been ok with it? I read a spoiler of it and the end is just something I don’t think I could get over. Just to hurtful to do to the one experiencing the same grief.

Cheryl December 2, 2015 at 11:23 PM

Amy, I read that the Bad Romeo series when it was a twilight fanfiction. SO GOOD!! LMAO about the drum comment. Brings up different kinds of memories from when I volunteered for the Salvation Army when I was a teenager. ;)

Jean, good to hear because I have had the Gravity series on my tbr list. Love sports-theme romances especially with broken H’s! ;)

Grey, I haven’t read IAD or Oblivion either.*jumps in blankie cave and hides behind Grey*

Cheryl December 2, 2015 at 11:24 PM

Hi Carolyn- nothing creepy about lurking, but glad you jumped in!! :)

Amy December 2, 2015 at 11:32 PM

I will totally admit that I have a double standard *in books only* when it comes to cheating…if the h does the cheating I don’t end up hating her (usually I know going into the book that it is *possibly* going to happen) but if the H cheats and she goes back to him or stays with him, oh HELL NO! He is ruined for me and I won’t see him the same way, and I won’t be happy for her if they work it out.

I know, it’s twisted…but there it is.

AND! You wanna know what’s really messed up? If she cheats and he cheats as well, I will still turn against HIM only. That’s pretty bad, isn’t it?

Amy December 2, 2015 at 11:49 PM

Awwwwww Cheryl, you were a SA volunteer? That’s awesome! :D I didn’t know BR was Twilight fanfiction, or if I did hear it before then I forgot. Either way, I loved both of them. :D

Lisa December 3, 2015 at 1:01 AM

Welcome Carolyn!! (We’re all lurkers here).

Oh Amy. Girl after my own heart. I am right onboard with double (book) standards and cheating. If she cheats….meh….not winning points but it doesn’t really worry me. But if he cheats….grrrrr….I feel impelled to sharpen my claws..and he becomes completely ugly-wouldn’t go there if he was the last peen on the planet-ugly.
Double standards. Yep.

Does the book you’re referring to where the h cheat cos she can’t get pregnant have the name of the guy she cheats with as its title per chance??

fabi December 3, 2015 at 1:03 AM

*waves at Carolyn* hiiiii

Guess no one else is reading Anarchy Found right now so I’ll guinie pig this one.

Amy! omg girl we are so opposites. I love it!!! I have no problem with books where he cheats, but have a huge problem with books where she does it. (and yeah, only speaking of books) If someone blended and mushed us together we’d end up smack in the middle of the spectrum. :-)

Lisa December 3, 2015 at 1:04 AM

I loved Bad Romeo but I never got around to reading Broken Juliet.

The Lux series was amazing. Read em back to back not long ago. Keep having x-file Mulder and Scully flashbacks and half expected them to materialize at some point.

bev December 3, 2015 at 7:17 AM

I’m with Fabi on this, lol. It is such a weird quirk.
Maybe I just like the woman to be the one with the moral high ground, lol. It does seem like people lean one way or the other.
Amy from spoiler of that book it kind of sounds like she gets her cake and eats it to. And like you, in irl what people do in private and in a relationship is there business. Not mine to judge. Whatever makes one happy in life.

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 8:38 AM

*whispers* ah…guys?

Anarchy Found is SO FREAKIN GOOD!!!

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 8:46 AM

I finished Indebted #6 last night (Epilogue to come tonight)… and WOW! What a roller coaster ride this series has been. Dark, gritty, captivating, unpredictable, saddening, maddening, sensual… I could go on and on. Pepper Winters you ROCK!

There was a particular part in the book (ok maybe two or three, but especially this one) where big heavy tears were streaming down my face. I won’t go into detail, but it was the scenes between Jethro and Cut. I had to stop and take a moment and breathe. One of the things that makes a great book is when you can empathize and relate to one of the main characters on a deeper level. I was right there with Jethro and my heart ached for him. His inner thoughts, have been some of my own. I haven’t read the Epilogue yet (#7) and I only hesitate because I hate goodbyes. As hard as it is to say goodbye, one of the things I love about great book series, which covers the same couple over a period of time, is the emotional investment that you have in their happiness/outcome. There will definitely be a book hangover with this series. What a fantastic ride! :-)

Jean December 3, 2015 at 9:05 AM

Fabi, thanks for being the guinea pig for that one!

Welcome Carolyn!

I feel the same as Amy, I can deal with h cheating but when the H does it, it’s unacceptable! Ha!

That Indebted series is calling my name!

Cheryl, I think you will love the Gravity series! I am really loving Book 2!!! LOVING!!!!

Ela December 3, 2015 at 9:22 AM

Ela December 3, 2015 at 9:26 AM

Hi Carolyn! I started coming here years ago but was usually on the boards (Discuss section) posting in the spoilers and general boards but decided to step in here and see if I was welcome and sure enough these ladies are great!

OH and Amy?! It looks like I read that Gravity book…do I remember it??? Nope…

Ela December 3, 2015 at 9:29 AM

J.A. Huss rocks and I love most of her books so Anarchy Found should be another winner! Thanks Fabi….

The first IAD book was free a couple of days ago, darn it….but it’s only 1.99 now:

Ela December 3, 2015 at 10:16 AM

Cristina, I’m a little confused as to what the Fourth Debt was??? It sounds like the first part of the Final Debt but I’m questioning what it actually was??? Was it the thing he did to her arm???? I don’t think that’s spoiler enough, hopefully….otherwise feel free to delete Maryse.

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 10:53 AM

Ela – the first part of the Fourth Debt was the rolling of the dice. I don’t want to say much more in fear of giving away spoilers, however, feel free to delete this post Maryse if this hint is too much of a spoiler. :-)

Jean December 3, 2015 at 11:20 AM

First line Thursday!!!

Standing on the snowy hillside under the December sun, Callie Anders found herself pulsing along with an unfamiliar base line.  (Falling From the Sky (Gravity #2), By Sarina Bowen). Does it no justice! Loving this book and Hank “Hazardous” Lazarus!!!!

Ela December 3, 2015 at 11:24 AM

Ok, I’ll have to go back and re-read what’s associated with it turning red vs. black, that part I remember. Thanks!

Ela December 3, 2015 at 11:34 AM

I’ll start a spoiler thread as well for the Indebted series.

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 11:44 AM

First line Thursday…and I need much more than one line. ;-)

Anarchy Found by J.A. Huss
“Today is like any other day.”
“If every other day was filled with hopeless abandonment.”
“Yeah, he’s a creeper. Probably a criminal. Most likely a deviant, and a freak, and that just goes perfectly with the fact that he’s an asshole.”
“I shoot her a grin, the one that disarms all the girls I never bring home.”
“But a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do to protect his man cave.”

…squeeee I’m on chapter 5 and I am IN LOVE with these characters!

Jean December 3, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Omg fabi, sounds perfect! Lol!

Ela December 3, 2015 at 12:02 PM

Fabulous Fabi!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 12:39 PM

Ela – I just signed up to use the discussion blog and I’m awaiting a confirmation email.

fabi December 3, 2015 at 12:44 PM

Cristina, check you Spam/Junk box as those tend to get tagged.

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 12:52 PM

Fabi, I did and no such luck :-(

Ela December 3, 2015 at 1:01 PM

I saw you on there…

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 1:05 PM

Yea, I see myself on there, but I don’t have permission to view/access the forum until my email is confirmed. My email address is correct, so I’m not sure why I’m not receiving the email confirmation. :-(

Ela December 3, 2015 at 1:20 PM

Oh that’s sucky!!!!

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 1:23 PM

Cristina, I think many of us have had a problem with that feature. Be patient and make sure to check any filtering folders you have on your email client. It eventually works for most of us.

Theresa December 3, 2015 at 3:42 PM

New twist on Blood Kiss- phone sex!

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 3:45 PM

LOL Theresa. It’s a new generation in the BDB

Allison December 3, 2015 at 4:37 PM

I read Anarchy Found and LOVED IT. Could so see this book being a movie. Ugh, I am so in love with the H – Lincoln. The things he says to Molly. I just die.

Definitely recommend it!

I also ready Defy. I liked it, but it felt rushed and too short. Could’ve used like 100 more pages of character development.

Also, the entire Evan Arden box set is now available on KU. Just throwing that out there for anyone, like me, who hasn’t yet read the series. Looking forward to delving into that in the next few days!

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 4:50 PM

Yeah Allison! I’m glad I’m not the only one going crazy over Anarchy Found.

I think you’ll love the Evan Arden series too. ;-)

Maryse December 3, 2015 at 5:45 PM

Yes Cristina, definitely check your spam folder or also!! “promotions” or social” tabs at the top of your gmail in case it ended up in there…

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 5:58 PM

My email is confirmed!!! I’m about to eat dinner and then Ela we can discuss Indebted in the spoiler forum. :-)

Ela December 3, 2015 at 6:01 PM

Theresa December 3, 2015 at 6:14 PM

Evan Arden books are good. Just finished Blood Kiss. Good spin off. Same world, some with the brothers but a slower, more romance, less intense read. Not the tragic sad ugly cry stories of the brothers. So I recommend you give it a try. The Beast will be an ugly cry!
Anyword on the next Bourbon King? That was a bad cliffy!

Tessa December 3, 2015 at 6:24 PM

Back from a little break, and healthy now. *grins* Thank you all for your well wishes in the other post! I’ve still not read Indebted six, but that’s because of being sick and starting a REALLY long series. Well, I read the first, then forgot it totally. Even re-reading I was like, oh yeah. Then what happened? So, now I’m on book three, and I so see why it got a lot of stars My poor heart is going nuts!

First line Thursday
“Get it back!”
Fearless Magic (Star-Crossed series Book 3) by Rachel Higginson

And… really, it’s a much better line after the second book!

I never made an Indebted spoiler post? Proof that that series drives me nuts! Oh, and rolling dice is definitely not a spoiler. :D *shudders remembering*

Lisa December 3, 2015 at 7:11 PM

First line: ‘I blame the vodka.’
Some sort of crazy by Melanie Harlow.

The first page had me laughing out loud. Who can’t relate to a girls night out that goes a bit too far.

‘We sat somewhere between SHHH don’t tell anyone I’m drunk and missing the barstool completely’.

Milissa December 3, 2015 at 7:19 PM

Ok ladies letters written in white had me balling like crazy. And it takes a lot to do that.

Jean December 3, 2015 at 7:48 PM

Tessa, glad you are feeling better! I have to check out that series!

Lisa, I love that first line….. That book is so high on my TBR right now!

Allison December 3, 2015 at 7:49 PM

Some Sort of Crazy was great! Funny and hot and sweet!

I am dying to read Letters Written in White but am afraid I’m too emotional to handle it. I’d love to hear what you think of it when you finish, Milissa.

Fabi, Anarchy Found was the shiz. Did you finish it?

Fabi December 3, 2015 at 8:15 PM

Allison, no, I barely got started on it. I’ve been working all day, but I’ll get a little reading in tonight before bed. It looks rather short. :-( Gah! It’s good.

Cristina December 3, 2015 at 8:17 PM

After finishing the Indebted series, I’m going to read something a little lighter. Anyone started Misconduct yet? I have so many great choices it’s so hard!!

bev December 3, 2015 at 8:47 PM

I FOUND it! Fallen From Grace. You guys were no help at all with that, lol.

Allison December 3, 2015 at 9:17 PM

Fabi – It didn’t feel short. A lot goes on. And I got emotional, which for me means I need to walk away – take a breather – and come back – so that stretched it out a couple of extra hours for me.

Just please, when Lincoln talks on the phone with Molly when she is in her car, check back with me. I need to gush over this scene with someone.

MichelleS December 3, 2015 at 9:37 PM

First line Thursday: “Some graduations happened in private.” Blood Kiss, Black Dagger Legacy.

Yup. I went there. Couldn’t help it. V, Butch, Rhage, Wrath, Z… Come on… You know you want to.

Amy December 3, 2015 at 11:16 PM

First line Thursday! Hey, it still counts even if it is nighttime. ;)

“When I was twelve, a fortune-teller told me that my one true love would die young and leave me all alone.” ~ God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo

Now to catch up on comments…

Allison December 4, 2015 at 12:19 AM

Oh Amy. That book. I still haven’t read that author’s second book. Which is a shame, because she’s such an amazing writer. But I haven’t yet recovered from the first.

Amy December 4, 2015 at 12:20 AM

Lisa…yes, that is the book we were talking about. ;)

Fabi…I know! Isn’t fun to see how different we all feel about certain book plots? There’s me, Lisa and Jean ready to rip the H’s sack off, and you and Bev are ready to punch the h in the ovaries.

Tessa…so glad you’re feeling better! And I really liked the Star-Crossed series, so I KNOW you’re having fun with that one. :D

Milissa!! You used the magic words…click! Did you ever read her book Therapy? SO good and will put you through just about every possible emotion. Not kidding.

Amy December 4, 2015 at 12:21 AM

Allison, are you talking about How To Kill a Rockstar? I absolutely freaking LOVED that one!

fabi December 4, 2015 at 12:23 AM

Yup, Allison, I definitely will. But I don’t get a lot of reading time until the weekend so I only nibble at my books during the week.

Lisa December 4, 2015 at 6:57 AM

Oh God-shaped Hole. How I loved that book. But it broke me. I seriously had to have an afternoon alone after finishing ….total book fog.
Allison you need to read How to Kill a Rockstar. On my list of top ten books of all time and I am still so in love with Paul the H. With his crooked nose and pea green suit. Just loved loved loved it.

Amy you are hilarious. There will be no sack ripping. (Unless its Stanton then rip away)! Lol.

Ela December 4, 2015 at 11:47 AM

I absolutely LOVED How to Kill a Rockstar, a definite must read!

I finished the Epilogue to Indebted and I still have so many questions! I feel there were a few inconsistencies.

Moving onto Misconduct :)

Allison December 4, 2015 at 1:09 PM

Amy, God Shaped Hole is the one I read and How to Kill a Rock Star I haven’t yet because I’m afraid of crying that hard ever again. LOL

Cheryl December 4, 2015 at 1:14 PM

Finally caught up on comments, had to have a procedure to remove skin cancer yesterday. Amazing how much a big ole forehead incision can knock you on your a$$!!

I just started Misconduct.

As far as cheating (in books), think I’m with Amy, Lisa and Jean- such a sucker punch to the gut when the H cheats. Think because I “feel” for the h vs. not being able to relate to the H.

Cheryl, I’m so sorry you had to go through that! Do you have to have any other treatments or are you done now?

Ela December 4, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Damn! So sorry Cheryl! Hope all went ok.

Fabi, had MOH’s surgery where the MD keeps removing tissue until margins are clear, so nothing more needed.

Thanks Ela.

Cheryl, Glad all is well. Still, scary. Sending good thoughts your way.

Wow, Cheryl. A bunch of good will your way. That stuff is always scary.
