Finished Facade ( Deception book 1) by D.H. Sidebottom and Ker Dukey a minute ago dark read, “umputdawnable” , oh boy! Read it Marise, reaaaaad it! Can’t wait to start to read Cadence ( Deception book 2).

Great list!! I’m thinking of getting Once Upon A Time(Fairy Tales Are For Morons) by S.K. Hartley and maybe Debt by Nina G. Jones!! Anyone read these????

Having now read Roam I am reminded what a true 5 star read is for me, that’s I I downgraded FaCade…. because in case you haven’t figured it out ROAM is da bomb!!!! I’m on book two – called FALL and loving it just as much.

Just finished In Bloom (Tessa’s rec). It was a sweet, funny, minimal angst story. The only bad part is it is #1 in a trilogy and # 2 is not coming out until early next year. At least it didn’t end on a cliffhanger!!

Now what? Several on the list today look good. I do love a good sports or rock start book. Thanks Marsye!! 😉

‘Once upon a time’ is a great book with realistic characters. I really enjoyed liked this one.

MichelleS, I looked at the Roam series, because I was really intrigued by your comments/rec. I found: ROAM (Book One),FALL ( Book Two),RISE ( Book Three),RUSH (Book Four),RULE (Book Five),WEST (Novella),REIGN (Book Six). Not sure but on the authors website said series was being re-released this month.

Jean, I became attached from the first line, you will love it, will don’t stop till the end.

Oh fantastic Fabi & Michelle. I am almost finished with book two. It just keeps getting better. It just doesn’t stop with the angst. I can’t take it anymore. What else can possibly happen? Where’s Amy? This is totally up her alley. I may re-read it just to experience it all again. (Don’t judge Roam too much for all her bawling… I’d be a sobbing mess too if I were her… the only, and I mean only criticism I have and I even talk myself out of that).

Sooooo many great books to one-click! I’m with Amy – my heart aches & I haven’t even started You Were Mine yet. I just know it’s going to make me cry! I did read The Rocker Who Shatters Me already & loved it. I’m a big fan of the series. Forever With Me was amazing too!!! I also grabbed a couple I didn’t see on the list – Dirty Secret by Emma Hart and Crying Wolf by Rochelle Paige

Easy virtue by Mia asher comes out today! Just from the blurbs it is going to be HOT!!!

I spoke too soon!!! I just checked amazon and they were all there! So I quickly bought books 3-6. Happy Birthday to me. They are 2.99 each, so not too bad for a series I have now fallen in love with. It looks like their story does resolve and later books are about other characters…. I think….

So don’t shy away because it’s a series. 🙂

I didn’t get too far into it either last night Fabi only 8%. It took me longer than expected to finish my other read.

MichelleS I absolutely loved the Kathleen Turner series. It’s nonstop action, drama, mystery and romance (with the best love triangle!) start to finish. I read all of them in a few sittings.

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one buying lots of books this past week….. makes me feel better to have company! Haha!

I only read the first 2 Turner books… guess I should have continued!

And as much as I want too start Roam, there are just too many others waiting in line for me to read! Ugh! What a horrible problem to have!

What was I thinking – I read Kathleen Turner series – TEAM KADE!!! What an idiot – I blame my alzheimer’s…. I read them all except Blane’s story.

Amy – MC mood? Did you read Lights of Peril series? Nordic Lords?

You know, I realize now that it’s all about the timing with these books, if I am in a certain mood and something hits the spot, I am giddy…. but if I am not in the mood for that, then “meh”… I am betting a bunch of my previous reads that I LOVED wouldn’t rate so high right now… which could explain why I am over the moon about Roam series and others might not be as impressed.

Michelle S I think mood has a lot to do with it. Tons of books I’ll put down and then go back to months later and love it that time around. Plus we just have our own little likes. I just read a western romance and was totally immersed in it. It was a little slow moving and not a lot of angst but it was perfect to curl up with the weather stormy and quiet mood.
Now I’m reading a kinda classic small town contemporary romance by Jill Shalvis. I’m really liking it but a part of me wants to go back out west, lol.

MichelleS, I didn’t care too much for the Lights of Peril series (I read books 1 and 2) but that probably had to do with my mood. 😉 I think a big part of it though is because I gave up my MC virginity to Madeline Sheehan, and you *know* how deliciously gritty those are. LOP just felt…I dunno…too easygoing, maybe? At least for an MC read. I *do* want to read the Nordic Lords series though, and I have the first book so I’m thinking that will be the one.

Because I know all of you ladies are dying to know what my reading plans are (*snort*), I’m gonna squirrel from my original plan for after Light Shadows and jump into Easy Virtue before hitting up Unlit Star. Although, now I am afraid that I am building EV up too much in my head and expecting the same kick in the gut that Arsen gave me. Oh well, it’s Mia Asher so there’s really nothing to lose with her! 🙂

When you do read Unlit Star, report back here (as if we don’t already do that!!!)… because that’s on my TBR list and I haven’t gone there yet.

MichelleS – just to tuck away in your brain, when you get in the mood for paranormal again the 3rd book in the Dark Light series is excellent. I liked the first two but the third has much more action.

Amy I like really gritty MC books, my favourites are from Sheehan. If I am reading a MC book I don’t want the H to be nice or soft. Do recommend some real gritty MC books.

Hmmm… A lighter MC read? I think I need to check out the Lights of Peril series. 🙂

Michelle – I am still trucking along with Roam series. I am on the third one, Rise…. heart breaking…. but still keeping my interest!!! yay for me. Are you still reading it?

Then Maryse had to go and put up more new stuff!!! Now I am eyeballing Easy Virtue. I am trying like heck to remember Arsen. I read it and I’ve got nothin’. Weird, huh? Some just bury themselves in my brain….

Michelle, I’m at 63% in Roam. For me it got interesting after 30% and started rockin an rollin after 50%. That quote in the book is attributed to C.S. Lewis. Yes, it’s awesome.

MichelleS, I’m loving Roam. Thanks for the recommendation. It’s so different. Unique storyline. That’s always a nice surprise.

Bev, it was kind of weird for me with Deuce and Evie…I liked her and “felt” right along with her, and I wanted her to end up with Deuce even though I wasn’t all that thrilled with him until maybe the second book. Make sense?

Yay Cheryl! I’m just about done with Light Shadows then I wanted to read Easy Virtue and Unlit Star after that. THEN I’ll be ready for an MC read. 😉

Yes I finished Roam and thought it was great! Really unique premise and promising start to a series. With that ending I was tempted to jump into the next book and still might soon after I finish a few others. The chemistry between Roam and West was amazing and I liked how they just seemed to not be able to help themselves which lent to the fated vibe I suppose. I did think Roam was a little annoying but the author leaves her room for growth in upcoming books. I just hope the time travel/fantasy aspect does not get too convoluted. Thanks for a wonderful rec MichelleS 🙂

I just finished another paranormal read since I’m on a spree here called Silver by Rhiannon Held that was another unique storyline and a whole new twist on a were/shifter book. I’m going to continue with that series too. My current read now is Dazzle by Amber Garza which is more YA paranormal but looked intriguing.

Michelle, on our next buddy read remind me to start reading a week before you. Ha! 🙂

I haven’t read Shatter Me but the title has me eyeing it over and over. Intriguing.

Oh my god I just read the blurb for Shatter Me (I don’t always read the blurbs) and it sounds sooo good!

Then I peaked at the reviews, and they sound so bad. 🙁

Michelle – the time travel does NOT get messy – very easy to follow – I can’t give anything away or else it would really spoil it, but believe me, it’s easy to follow once a few pieces fall into place. I just finished book 3 and it was my fave so far. Their story finally gets resolved – now onto the next couple’s story… don’t want to spoil it so I won’t say who (Book 4 – Rush).

Fabi – I only got to about the halfway mark with Light Shadows, but want to go back and finish. I think it was just too long between book releases for me. had it come out sooner, or been available after I read book two – I am sure I would have devoured it.

Whoah! Just finished Roam. Sooo good!

Wow Laura, I’m honestly going to run out if series to rec & the Michelles will have to keep you supplied. For PNR I really enjoyed the Aisling Grey series by Katie McAlister. I only have read the Aisling ones but plan to some day read the spin offs.
If you like historical I adored Lisa Kleypas Wallflower series especially #3 but you have to read in order to fully appreciate that book.
I’m reading The Year We Fell Down and if it keeps up I think I may just do a glom of the rest of the series. That’s only #2, #2.5 & 3 so not a lot.

Laura, have you read the Mortal Instruments series? How about the Succubus Blues series? That one is fun.

I went back to Dark Prince and I’m all riled up again. I’m at 78% now, but I just don’t like ANY of the characters. I don’t know if I should even try to finish it. Nothing in this plot is going to make me like the characters at this point. The only other book I can think of that I disliked this much was Tied Man.

Sorry to all of you who love this series. But it’s about differing opinions right? We may love many of the same books and then disagree on a one or a few.

I guess the good news is that I’m all set up for a nice long weekend read with a new book. 🙂

As much as I griped at the beginning of Written in Red, I got over my petty little complaints and ended up really liking it. No steam *sigh* but it was unique compared to other PNRs I have read. I’ll get the next one when it comes down in price. Murder of Crows, I think…

Oh, and I loved the Crows. “Shiny!” LOL!!!!!!

And Laura – how could I forget… the PNR series I am in the middle of is turning out to be one of my all time favorites. It gets more and more twisted and angsty, but it’s not complicated… just original and interesting. I’m on to book 4 tonight. It’s already off to a great start (from Logan’s POV so far). It’s the Roam Series.

That’s my plan this weekend. Finish that whole gosh darn series. Haven’t done that in forever (stuck with one series). We’ll see if I squirrel…..
