HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY (the last one of the year!!!) and HAPPY BOXING DAY to my fellow Canadians (today is essentially THEIR Black Friday), so I can imagine the fun and terror they’ll be having in the stores right now. Anyone braving some shopping today? I’m tempted to find some Christmas decoration deals… I just may do it. 😉 I think I have a total of 16 balls on my new tree and just a few cute tidbits here and there. It was a bit naked… LOL!
But!! I will also be reading ALL day, and I’ve found my next read right off of this list. 😀 It’s a funny one, it’s been recommended like CRAZY (the cover had me kind of giggling and also not sure if I’d be up for it) but by the glowing reviews (and this awesome super-bargain today), I’m ON IT!!!
But… take a look at what else we found. 😉 Original indie favorites like Willow Aster, and Jane Harvey-Berrick have new releases today, and some hugely popular series have just been bundled (like that one up there to the left) and have just gone live at bargain prices. And then of course, the big names are on here, too. YAY US!!!
P.P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—
This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

Maria: Worth It by CM Owens and SM Shade is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read. I was reading excerpts to my husband between gasping for air and hysterical laughing fits.
Sabrina: Yes i second Worth It by CM Owens & SM Shade. It was so funny. Tears in your eyes you laugh so hard funny.

The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels) by Kerrigan Byrne <— TWO OF MY BLOGGER FRIENDS HAVE GONE CRAZY FOR THIS ONE and it’s on sale today!!! Angie and Natasha lost their minds over it, and while I’m not a regular Historical romance reader, I know I’ve loved the ones I’ve read, and supposedly this is the best of the best!!!! In fact, Angie wonders if this will be her top favorite of the year. And I love that cover! P.S. Now I’ve just noticed it’s been recommended HERE are few times too! I’m one-clicking it!!
Anne: loving it so far! Its a different type of HR. Very refreshing.
K: Rec- The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne. It’s a historical but the H reminded me a bit of Christian Grey, eg. Emotionally scarred, doesn’t like to be touched.

Good morning.
I can not believe it is almost the end of another year.
Just heads up Lara Adrian and Karina Halle changed release dates
I just came home with more Christmas decorations!!!!! Well worth it at that discount. YAY NEXT CHRISTMAS!!!!
LOL! 😛
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is on sale for 4.99 from 10.99 today. My lovely SS Amy just gifted me this one, it’s a GR choice winner this year too!
Thank you Theresa!!!! I really appreciate you finding the date changes for me… I shall update. 🙂
playing with my Christmas presents… woohoo!
Hi guys! Love having the day off… just lounging around. Just finished Maybe in Another Life….I’m torn, but yes loved it!
I think I’ll give Worth It a try….I bought it the other day….. the reviews are of the charts and I could use something light and funny!
The cover…..i just can’t. For whatever reason it just totally turns me off. *shrug*
I get it bev….i didn’t love the cover either but the reviews just make me want to read it.
*throws up hands* Oh, NOW Tasha’s SS book is one sale. 🙄 That’s okay, I would pay full price again for your book. 😉
*on sale (good lord, my autocorrect is hungover…or I am *giggle*)
Happy Boxing Day to our Canadian friends!
?downsize=715:*&output-format=auto&output-quality=auto
I’m in a post-Christmas funk. I’m taking the next week off to tackle household organization and projects, but all I want to do is curl up and nap and read and nap some more. Hubby is annoying me because he is all, let’s GO GO GO and get stuff done. NO NO NO. I’m feeling post-holiday letdown in full force and…and…this is me:
You know what? Screw it all. I want to wallow and be lazy. I’m going to catch up on posts and comments and make up my 2017 favorite list and read everyone else’s lists. After I give hubby some Z-Quil and tell him it’s cough syrup. 😆
bev…
it’s the weird upskirt butt grabbing.
I get you. It’s the same thing that had me raising an eyebrow and wondering what frolicking I was about to embark on…
Amy I get you. I had ALL of these positive and productive plans for the Holiday, and yet…
*sigh*
I’ve done about half on my list. I wanted to do ALL on my list.
*snort*
Z-Quil.
Now THAT is productive. 😉
My Roomba is busy vacuuming copious amounts of glitter right now.
Yes. I got into the Walmart/Target Christmas deco half off deals, and well… my house is sparkling right now.
Overly so.
It’ll all be ok, Dwight.
I think I may do some me shopping for the holiday, before New Years and resolutions.
I don’t want ornaments but some more mochi wrapped ice cream, lol.
I’m looking for a rock star, movie star book. Any suggestions?
Melinda, did you ever read Love Unscripted? It’s from back in the indie days and still holds a special place in my heart. He’s a famous actor and she’s a down-to-earth “normal” lady. No crazy angst but definitely all of the fun anxiety-producing moments that go along with the famous person-normal person reads.
And I still have yet to read it, but Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre is well loved by many here (so glad though that I turned off auto updates so I didn’t end up with the movie version for the cover…just my personal preference). Not to mention she is one of my favorite authors. 😉
Mochi wrapped ice cream? *goes to google it*
*giggle* I can totally see Maryse having glitter all over her house…
Mmm, I thoight it was really good. I had the vanilla and now want to try the chocolate.
Thought.
Grr.
Melinda I am not sure what you have in your tbr. I’m doing the Jason Thorne one.
And here I am again. 🙂
Indie days….Love Left Behind and The Mighty Storm.
Or
To Tell The Truth Shame the Devil. Rock stars and movie stars. Scouts honor. Plus it’d make baby Jasper happy.
OOH!! I forgot to tell you guys! *claps hands excitedly*
I was at work last week and a coworker was reading from her iPad. She told me she was totally hooked on this book, and it was about a woman whose ex-boyfriend had amnesia but she was pretending (to him) they didn’t know each other since they had had such a bad breakup. I told her it sounded like a book I read called The Opportunist, and she started squealing that THAT is what she was reading, so I started squealing, and we squealed together and… *sigh* It was like having a conversation from here come to life. 😀
bev…Love Left Behind by SH Kolee? I remember that one! SO fun.
I remember when I was preparing the first Book Bash, and I was at the hotel the night before with one of the hotel’s event managers (she had been handling our account for months)…
and she was SHOCKED by how many people were there, and I said these are the best of the best authors… and I asked her if she read and she said yes…
I asked her who were her favorites (expected her to spout the usual big names from big publishers) and she said Colleen Hoover, and mentioned a few others and I smiled…
I said YOU are in for something amazing, then!!! She was ONE OF US and didn’t even know it!!!
I love that! No one in my “real life” has ever heard of any of my faves. That’s why I’d rather hang out here. <3
Bev and Amy, I have read all of those and they were amazing. I need something new.
Pick for me is open for the new year!!!
Oh yeah… you guys!
You can copy-paste your “pick-for-me’s” here in the comments to if you want. Or I can create a “main” post for it, and then you guys can add to the comments to match your Goodreads selections. 😀
Act Like it by Lucy Parker? Not Hollywood but a famous actor on the London stage.
Heaven, Texas by SEP. He is actually a famous football player making his movie debut.
True Love Story and Eversea a musician and actor both loanable if you want them.
Good Time Bad Boy also lendable if you want. Really liked this one and no one ever reads it. Famous country star. Good dipiction of a hard working small town heroine.
Also, Come Dancing and can loan it as well. 80s New York and a great sense of time and place. Very early 80s so almost 70s vibe.Liked this one as well. Takes its time. He is an English rock star.
Beat…i just love the cover, don’t remember much. And loanable.
Maryse!!! You should totally do another Book Bash!!! We would all come and help!!!
Melinda, how about the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott? Or the Sinners series by Olivia Cunning? Or… Forget/Blur by N.A. Alcorn?
Yes… Ladies and any lurkers that may be reading this as want to jump in; we don’t jump in and barrage you with a million plata, so… Offer (ready bribes..hahaha!) *gif me* kidding 😉 for Pick-for-me and the Tbr challenge. We need to agree on a name for the 3rs challenge and then get our shelves restocked, no pressure hahaha! The end oh 2017 will be here before we know it!
I second Hollywood Dirt. Haven’t seen the movie but I really liked the book. But I couldn’t get into Love Unscripted. I tried a couple of times. One of the books I really WANTED to like, but found it a bit meh. Ah! Incoming! *ducks peanuts*
Haven’t heard of all of those bev. I’m gonna check out Good Time Bad Boy. And I just 1-clicked Come Dancing cos it’s only $1.03 so I’ll take the chance LOL. It looks kinda good. Thanks 🙂 I like SEP but can’t remember that one…. will have to look back and see whether I’ve read it. But I know I dnf’ed Act Like it, and I 2-starred Eversea 🙁 *ducks more peanuts*
I second the Stage Dive series too, Grey, but Forget was another dnf. *catches flying peanut and eats it* Tasty.
For Melinda, here are a few that I have loved:
Cake by J. Bengstsson (college girl and rock star)
Storm by Carian Cole (rock star in a band, the whole series is amazing)
True North by Liora Blake (widowed novelist meets rock star in the green room at a talk show). Loved his book!!
Sweet as Sin (make up artist meets rock star at a video shoot)
Heaven and Hell by Kristen Ashley (classic)
Music of the Heart by Katie Ashley (wholesome girl in family band meets rock star on a tour). I read the whole series!!
Blind Attraction (Eden Summers) The whole series is a fun read.
Hope this helps.
Aww, Thankyou, Kathy P and Bev, some good ones I haven’t read. I have read Eversea, Hollywood Dirt, Love Unscripted (loved that). I’ve read s/dive, forget. I haven’t read any of Kathy’s or some of Bev’s thank you.
Thanks for all the imput, I really appreciate it.
Melinda, I think you have already read most of my faves AND everyone already suggested most of the good ones. What about:
Hollywood & Vine by Olivia Evans or Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James
Bev, you are reading To Love Jason Thorn???? I LOVE THAT ONE!!!! It’s one of my faves AND it’s great on audio too. *swoons* That is exactly my type of CR.
Grey, wouldnt it be awesome if Maryse did another book bash and we all could go??? Maybe if it were in Orlando and I had enough notice I could turn it into a family vacay. There is no way I could go to florida without the fam. 🙁 What is the 3rs challenge??
Amy, I would totally make that co-worker my new bff and force feed her to read all our faves!! *giggles*
I almost never have RL peeps who read my type books or share my enthusiasm for books. Once, some of my cousins read This Man series and when I started squeeing over it, they looked at me like I had 10 heads. Whateves to them. Only my book buds “get” squeeing!!
Good morning my book peeps!!!! Being on holiday is wonderful…sipping my hazelnut coffee (which I got for a steal on Amazon!!!!) and catching up on books and movies.
I agree with you Leslie about not having RL people to rant and rave and squee with over books. My 10 year old gets more excited about books than anyone else I know in RL.
Maryse, I did brave the after holiday shopping for some Christmas decorations too! I scored the cutest stinkin stuffed Llama!
Withering Hope by Layla Hagen is Free today.
Dear Life by Meghan Quinn is .99
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas is 2.99 (Coincidentally I was thinking of finally starting book 3 today)
Oh, Leslie? The 3rs is our reading challenge for Maryse.
Read. Read. Read.
She was feeling a bit slumpy.
You know, kinda “meh”.
“Blah”, You could say.
So everyone was
1. Read To Tell the Truth, Shame the Devil.
(We did try to tell Jasper to stop pushing so hard. But you know….he’s a baby. In the the belly. Doesn’t understand boundaries.)
2. Read Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda.
(Everyone is pushing this book. *Sigh* What can you do?)
3. Read The Last Hour of Gann.
( I keep saying nope too dark. But MichelleS will not listen. She thinks Maryse is a bit dark. I……*shrugs*)
OMG Maryse… I just cut up some of that leftover roast and peppers and scrambled it with eggs. Oh lawd.
DON’T EVEN, R!! OMG I WANT SOME!!!
Unless you can bring me some STAT, I don’t want to hear it. I am JEALOUS!!!
Okay…. now tell me more!!! 😉
Leslie, the third challenge is just read someone else’s favorite book.
Good morning, getting ready to head out of town to visit family for more Christmas celebrating. Loading up my kindle for the drive. Yeh!!!
Amy, I wish I had a co-worker experience like that. Mine was the opposite- something Blah, Blah Blah enlightening and classic. 🙁
I have threads open for all the challenges now!
From my 8 yr old- Does fantasy mean real or fake?
Me- It’s fake
She scrolls back to fantasy on Netflix- Wait, what? That means Santa Claus is fake. All these Santa movies are in fantasy….
Ummm
Mind you, for the past month I’ve had a big present among the others sitting out labeled, From-Santa. She completely missed that and only seemed to care that the number between her and her brother were uneven. Lol
Bev – seeing Simon & Gann in same post as Recs is hilarious! They couldn’t be more different! Just goes to show… we are diverse! I loved both, BTW.
In RL, I have one friend who reads Briggs, so we can talk about that once in a blue moon. I have another who reads C Hoover, so there’s that. One who reads fun sexy PNR… but day to day everyday book lovers who devour PNR, Fantasy, HR, CR, etc… this is my tribe.
Lol, completely different.
MichelleS, how is your reading going?
Ok, I’ve got my new spreadsheet of Reader favorites all pretty and up to date… I’m ready for the next post, Maryse, LOL! I’ve got threads opened for challenges in January. I made my all-time favorites goodreads shelf for the new challenge. I’m currently working on my list to send to you for 2017…can you tell I’m procrastinating BIG time on taking down my Christmas tree? *giggle*
Bev – I’m on a roll here! Beautiful Monsters series was epic & awesome but bruuuutal. Pathfinder’s Way was great…. but super sloooooow burn on the romance. Lots of adventure though. I’m on a fantasy kick, so I’m reading samples of Fae books. Have Amazon money to burn. KA’s was pretty good… nothing too speactacular, but I did it read it in one day. Anything doing it for you?
I’m the same – I don’t really have anyone in rl to squee with over my books. Well, my sister does like some of the HRs I read and we do some swapping there so that’s good. And my (grown-up) kids like the same sci-fi as me so we get a bit excited when a new one comes out by a fav author. But as for romance 🙁 no. *sigh* I feel a bit like a fish out of water sometimes.
But then I check this blog or GR and I feel normal again 😀
*big squeezily group hugs everyone* Thank you. You are all awesome.
Jan, aren’t you the one with all boys? Wouldn’t it be fun if they did read romance with you? Maybe a daughter in law.
MichelleS I haven’t even opened one since Hook up. I’m thinking I may soon either try Strange the Dreamer (my ss gift) or wander into the courtyard a final time.
I can’t put the kdrama down. Only things holding my attention. Like you with CNN except prettier and more romance.
Kdrama? Kardashians?
Yes I have all boys, and no, they’re not into romance in any way, shape or form. LOL. My daughters-in-law do like to read, but mostly have different tastes to me – one is into thrillers (which I do read occasionally) and the other is more a YA fantasy fan. But neither are really moi.
I’ve started my secret santa book – The Sisters of Versailles – novelisation based on 5 real life sisters, 4 of whom were mistress to Louis XV1 of France (presumably not all at the same time LOL). But yeah, wow. What an incredible true story – kinda forgotten by history too, I think. A big thank you to my secret santa!
Tasha…..um……NO. NOPE NADA. NEVER. NIL. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
No like this:

Gah. Love him. Lol.
Apparently Massachusetts thinks its the North Pole because wind chill here is 20 below zero!! No joke!
*shivers*
So cold here too Leslie! Minus 7!!
Freezing here too. Gah! Tree is coming down today, may have to start baking today just to stay warm. What is everyone else up to?
I’m a bit jealous.
Ahhh! The BEST part about not putting up a tree this year!
Lol. I didn’t really think it’d be Kardashians, but ya never know. I couldn’t think of anything else it could be. 😉 It’s 10 here, you guys definitely have it worse. Doesn’t look to get any better next week either.
I’ve been wondering…bugs hibernate during the winter. We get a lovely break from most unwanted pests bc of the cold. Even allergens. And then in the spring and summer, all the crap flourishes. So, why is it that bacteria and all these awful sick bugs flourish when it’s cold? They should freeze along with everything else.
Aside from freezing…I am doing laundry and making book lists. Also listening to audio of E.L. James Darker.
Don’t tell anyone Leslie, but that’s what I bought with my coupon… 😀
Holy moly…y’all live in some COLD places!! 😕
I would end up throttling hubby if we lived in cold like that. We’ve been fighting over the thermostat the last few days (not cutesy arguing…passive-aggressive crap that’s getting out of hand ), making me question how wise it was for both of us to take time off at the same time right now, LOL!
I’m busy doing some of the same things as you guys…taking down the tree, doing laundry, and today’s project of purging and organizing the pantry/storage room. I LOVE how good it feels when I walk into a room after I have labored over making it neat and tidy. 😀

Yep, I’m finally taking the plunge!

I’m ready for more Top 2017 Lists if anyone has one for us.
Send them to me on the contact me link on the top right of this page or even just leave it in the comments.
I’ll format and dedicate a post to it. 🙂
Maryse, I’m actually working on mine right now. Hope to email it to you in a few hours!
Amy, you took the plunge! I want to/don’t want to read that so bad. I think it’s going to hurt….a lot!
FLT: Bright red boxer briefs in a tree, and a toothbrush and razor smashed into the dirt. (Worth It, S.M. Shade and C.M. Owens)
Working on my list as well! It’s not going to be a big one, I just started it the other day and got distracted…
Yep Jean, I did! 😀 I’m ready for some good ol’ heart-hurtin’ fun!
Maryse, I worked on mine for a bit last night, but as usual, I’m fairly longwinded, so I need to edit a bit.
It’s a balmy 4 degrees here today. I took my son to basketball practice and thought I was going to freeze to death… thank God for remote starters is all I’m going to say.
FLT: Rick is a perfectly nice guy. ~ Tasting Never by C.M. Stunich
FLT: “The buzzing flies and screaming survivors had long since replaced the beating war-drums.” from “A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses)” by Sarah J. Maas
My tbr has now surpassed my actual “read” books on GR. I feel like a blurb chaser today, I’m really excited for all the good lookin books to come in 2018!
I found the Highwayman on this list & gave it a try. Absolutely loving it. Tortured hero, in love since childhood – she is his little “fairy” with white blonde hair. Met in an orphanage. I love this mushy stuff!
MichelleS, that sounds perfect! Keep us updated!
Amy are you one of those people who jack the heat up to like 75? Or is husband?
I don’t know why I am having such a hard time making a list. It’s like trying to open a book, lol. I did make a worst of list but that was like 3 books and some snark about Thoughtless. *gives Everyone the evil eye.*
I don’t know maybe if I get some coffee and look back over my reading year it will help me shake off the slump of 17 and prepare for 2018.
Oh Tasha!!!! So jealous of you right now! I did just buy a couple of the Throne of Glass books… getting prepared for a massive series read.
Are the Throne of Glass books on sale too? I only have the first one!
FLT:
“You can’t be serious?”
Finding Kyler by Siobhan Davis
I found this on a list on GR that was labeled Alpha brothers. The list had Erin Watt’s The Royals series, Fallen Crest series, Until November, Slater Brothers series, Elemental series, etc. I figured this book was on the list, and with a group like that, it might be good. So far, it is.
Oh Tessa, I have Finding Kyler…..keep me updated!
Jean, yep! Somehow I didn’t have book 2,3 or 4 in the series, and 2 and 3 were on sale, 5.99 and 6.12, I don’t know what the deal with the random pricing was, but I scooped them up….
bev, I feel ya with the slump year. For me, 2017 wasn’t a year full of fantastic books until about the last one-third and then I had several of them. Sure, there were plenty I really, REALLY liked earlier in the year but none of them really stuck out in my mind, and I only remembered them when I saw them on my spreadsheet or GR list. *shrug*
Me too… I reviewed less books this year, but not because I wasn’t reading. I DNF’d more than I wanted to…
And nope, I don’t like the house at 75. I prefer it to be 70, but I’ve compromised down to 68. Hubby wants it at 63-65, and dammit those few degrees make a difference and I’m freezing!!
We’ve been reduced to children over this. I set it at 68…he lowers it to 67 when I’m not looking…it hits 68 and he turns it off…I turn the fireplace off when he leaves the room…he leaves the toilet seat up (he only does that when he’s irritated with me)…I leave his socks turned inside out when I put them away…he pushes stuff waaaaaayyyyy back on the top shelf of the pantry so I can’t reach them…all because of the damn thermostat. Like I said, we’re behaving like children. 🙄
Amy OH NO. I can’t do that cold, unless I’m in bed snuggled in loads of blankets with my puppies. My house is a steady 70 during winter (and 76 during summer). I can deal both ways perfectly, AND save on electricity heater/AC-wise.
Going to click Highway and Finding Kyler right now…thanks MichelleS and Tessa!!
Thanks Grey…..for some reason I have Book 1 and 4 so I just grabbed 2 and 3!! Now, when will I have time to read them?!?!
Amy, that is hysterical….stand your ground girl!
That is funny Amy.
You should dress in all the layers then pile the couch with blankets and crawl under with a book. You can’t come out cause it is too cold.
Though I lean more towards your husband’s temp.
LOL, I will Jean! *fistbumps Jean* He will NOT win this one. 😛 It sounds so silly but on the moment I am just p!ssed. *snort*
bev, that sounds perfect. I won’t come out to make supper or even to go to bed. I’m sleeping RIGHT. THERE. *points to pile of blankets* Brrrrrr woman…you and my hubby would get along fabulously.
COLD you wanna talk COLD!!!!
Maryse do you remember how it gets so cold here in ON that it hurts to breath… WELL it’s feaking -36 C right now with the wind so while you get to remember I’m going to start my rental and let it run for 30min before heading home.
KOOOOOOLOOOOOOOO!!! YESSSSSSS!!!
OMG! This one time, it was a TERRIBLE ice storm in Montreal right before Christmas, and my best friend from high school and I wanted to go Christmas shopping that weekend (and in Montreal… the coolest shops are boutiques on the streets… very awesome stuff)…
So she came over anyway, and we said… do we brave it? It was -30 degrees… maybe even closer to -40. The kind of cold that IMMEDIATELY freezes every single hair in your nostrils… ICES over the inside of your nostrils. IMMEDIATELY and permanently until you find warmth.
So we wrapped our bodies, heads, hands, feet and mouth/nose areas… and we headed out and we SHOPPED!! We were practically the ONLY ones on the street (not even many cars out, and this is in the BIG city always loaded and populated and traffic, and pedestrians everywhere).
That day… we had the city streets, and the boutiques to ourselves. Yes we froze, but it was BEAUTIFUL out, and we bundled up enough that we were fine. Greeted pleasantly by Christmas boutique smells, hot chocolate, and heated stores… and then back out to freeze our nostrils off, until we entered the next store. 😉
Good memories. REALLY good memories.
Rofl Amy, that’s hilarious! And, yeah, childish. Lol I’m the same as you. 70 is perfect. It’s 67 outside right now and I’m wearing a sweatshirt.
Flask of soup and coffee. Burrow on in.
I don’t want 30 below, but colder and some snow. Pfft.
FLT
We were five sisters and four became mistresses of our king.
from The Sisters of Versailles by Sally Christie.
*closes eyes under cooling air from air conditioner * Baby it’s HOT outside!
Bev, I’d tolerate the cold for snow. I love the outside being cold, so long as my toes are nice and warm inside.
I have a heater blowing directly on me in my office and my feet are shoved in a mermaid blanket. It’s so hot in here you could fry an egg on my desk! love it!
It was 12 degrees in Nashville this morning. The South, my a$$.
Ugh! Lemme find a book to read so that I can post my FLT…
Ooh! I know! I bought Erica Lynn’s 61-page, HOTT, dark, sexy fairy tale today. That’s what I’ll read!
“Zila moaned in ecstasy as she sank down on Dimas.”
Gretel by Erica Lynn
What a way to start–and that’s just the prologue!
It was a red-letter DNF year for me.
My chant–NO MORE UNEDITED BOOKS! That comes right before ‘no more dual pov books’ (much)
2nd FLT: I didn’t realize he was a werewolf at first. My nose isn’t at its best when surrounded by axle grease and burnt oil—and it’s not like there are a lot of stray werewolves running around. (Moon Called by Patricia Briggs) I’m excited about this one. Have any of you read it?
That’s quite a first line Nay!
R, your secret is safe with me. 😉
Maryse, I am working on my list.
Amy, me & hubs battle daily on temperature!!
Yes Jean. That’s a fab series! So is her other pnr series, Alpha and Omega. Lucky you if you’re just starting out with Patricia Briggs. She’s a terrific writer and there’s a pile of books to read.
Jean! OMG that series is awesome! I enjoyed the earlier books more, but I agree with Jan–she’s a terrific writer!
And I STILL haven’t started my little 61-page smokin’ hot book yet. I’m in such a schlump!
Maryse–I think I can manage a top 5 list if that’s ok–since I didn’t have a lot of time to read this year like I would’ve loved to. I’ll try to get it done this weekend.
It’s now -6…. that’s Fahrenheit… gah, I don’t like it. It’s that freezing nostril temp. And the wind… yuck.
Our house temp is 72…all year. I don’t like any variation, LOL. I am the keeper of the thermostat around here.
Grey said “the keeper” which reminded me of my fave Chris Cornell song *sniffs*

Jean! JEAN JEAN JEAN! YES YES YES!
LOVE Mercy. She is one of my favourite heroines. Love her.
And you’ll meet Bran. Bran! Best secondary character.
I read your flt thinking “This sounds familiar…” Then fist pump!
Hee. I am so happy. Like a puppy.
Lol. I hate when I am in someone’s car or house and I feel like they are roasting me. So uncomfortable. Then the air gets so dry.
Hey, Nay. I am sorry. Maybe I gave it to you?
Thanks, bev, but I’ve had it for about 5 months–ever since the nightmare with my mom started in July. I’ve only read about 12 books since then.
But I’m ready to get the ball rolling again! Or the pages flipping! (metaphorically speaking)
Bev has book slump cooties!
Break out the Lysol.
Maryse– I just friend-requested you on FB. I thought we were already friends, but when I got on there, you were first on my list. The point of this is so that you’ll know who I am, because as if it’s not already confusing enough, I don’t go by Renee or Nay–I go by R.C.!
Nay!!! I don’t see ANY friend request from you… Do you see it still pending?
I’m with Bev and Jan! I ADORE her books. There is so much greatness and the characters are so wonderful. Then, yes. Alpha and Omega. Both are awesome stories.
Nay, who are you REALLY??? You have way too many aliases.
Are you a book spy???
Nay, I hope these first holidays after went easy on you.
I remember accidentally coming across a death book when I was grieving. It was NOT good. I thought the second book would show that the character didn’t really die, but nope they did. I tried to read it but I was a sobbing angry mess, lol. I couldn’t believe the other characters could move on so easily (as it seemed to me). I believe it was right around the holidays …..not a good combo. Not the ugly cry catharsis I needed. *snort*
Ditto big time bev
The holidays are never easy for anyone who’s lost someone, but we dealt.
Leslie–you’ve found me out! I’m a book spy and I’m taking ALL the books!
Amy – The Higheayman is historical romance! Not sure you’re into those, are you?
Oh Bev, I am feeling you. I read Slammed during a very difficult time.
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella is 2.99 today…I read this this year and I liked it!
The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney is 2.99
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys is 2.99 (I listened to this on audiobook a couple years ago and really liked it)
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson 2.99!
The Widow by Fiona Barton 1.99
AND!!! My personal Tell the Truth, Shame the Devil, Simon vs. Homosapiens, etc….Kids of Appetite by David Arnold 2.99!! This was one of my top favorites last year. Gave me big time feels, almost like the Outsiders did when I was in jr. high. Lol
Bev, i don’t think I’ve ever seen you get so excited! I love it! I think you were the one who recommended Moon Called and I’m loving it so far!!
Nay, a book spy…..heehee!
Oh and this is my first Patricia Briggs book!
*shakes head* I can’t believe you haven’t read any Briggs before, Jean. Enjoy!
