Happy NEW RELEASE DAY, happy last day of February AND!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!! It is eight years old today, and I’m going to put up a fun post later on all about it. ;) My fellow book-crew asked me a bunch of personal/blog questions for me to answer, and we’re gonna reminisce too. I can’t wait!!!

But for now, what a better way to celebrate a BOOK BLOG’S BIRTHDAY, than with this plethora of awesome-sounding book releases by so many, and I MEAN SO MANY of our favorite authors. It’s a book-celebration for sure!!!! :D

And if this wasn’t enough to choose from, you MUST check out yesterday’s earlybird list ’cause it’s just as amazing as this one, just a “mini” version (P.S. It went from 12 earlybirds to 16!! Tijan, K.A. Linde, Molly McAdams, Nicole Williams just to name a few…) ➔ 12 Earlybird Book Releases!!!! They’re so good I just want to copy them right back into TODAY’S list but that would be redundant.

In fact, today’s “blurb-jolt” list is going to a feature a few from yesterday, too. THESE ARE TOO GOOD-SOUNDING TO MISS!!! Undeclared (’cause I absolutely LOVED book #1 – perfect amount of angst, and silly fun, and steam, and pining, and this author seems to have that awesome old school college-new-adult feel that gets me every time!), Cole (’cause that blurb just HAS me. Love at first sight… takes her breath away, but she’s falling for the head of the mafia – YIKES!!!!!!), Something in the Way (he’s a construction worker, and she’s just 17, but they see each other and it’s pure intensity. But she’s too young for him… but then… OMG THIS!!!! “…no matter how much you achieve, none of it matters if you suffer the heartbreak that comes with falling for someone you can never have. Because even though I saw Manning first, that didn’t matter. My older sister saw him next…” <— eekeek OOOMPH!!), Blackbird (he’s been trained to remain unemotional, and he’s there to buy her…), MISTER WRONG (she’s getting married to a twin, and his identical twin is her best friend, but then she’s jilted at the altar (unbeknownst to her) and she ends up marrying the wrong twin… OMG THE BLURB on that one is just so much better than what I just said and it sounds AMAZING!!!), Sweet Venom (author warns us that this love triangle is gonna be hard on us, it’s not going to be an “obvious ending” and then she says… “ If I were you, I’d be careful who you fall for.“ <—- eek Eeeeeep!!!  YAY ME!!!! Checkmate (’cause she’s in unrequited love with her roommate… and he’s a cop, and oh boy that calls to me HARD!!!), The Butterfly Project (I LOVE this author, and this one sounds right up my angsty-romance alley. She’s just had her dreams crushed, alone in NY, and he’s starting over, just out from prison… and they meet).

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

BARGAINS & READER RECOMMENDATIONS (NOTE: bargain priced when I added them, but prices can change on Amazon, so make sure to check before you finalize your order. Sales listed are for Amazon U.S., however some of the Amazon UK links also reflect the sale!):

  • Dirty: A Dive Bar Novel by Kylie Scott <— KYLIE SCOTT BAD-BOY BARTENDER SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!! I just LOVE this author, and this one sounds so good! She’s a jilted bride, and he’s there to comfort her… “…Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she’s normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads...”
  • Midtown Brotherhood Trilogy: Books 1-3 by Savannah Blevins <— NHL HOCKEY STAR BOOK BUNDLE ALERT!! And it’s bargain priced! “When she figures out her boyfriend has been cheating, she has only one objective—vengeance. Conveniently, the jerk’s arch-nemesis and her secret college crush, Henrik Rylander, is in town…
  • BEAST by Debra Anastasia <— RECENT COMEDY ROMANCE RELEASE SUPER-BARGAIN and Nancy has feedback for us!!! She says:
Nancy: I was in the mood for something lighter and fun after a few really rough reads. BEAST by Debra Anastasia (Author of Poughkeepsie) is a new release, only 99 cents & short easy reading. It is a ridiculous fun story with a good ending. My review: This is a romantic comedy and not a serious story. When I started reading up till about 16% I actually couldn’t believe the main male character, named Dick Dongy, could be that crazy. But the poor main female character, Hendrix (Henry) Lemon would and had dated men crazier, and been on crazier dates. I was reading while my husband and I were taking a car trip. Every time I came to a funny part, I would read aloud to him. He was laughing and told me to just keep reading to him. It made our trip go so fast.
Dick Dongy had abs. Everywhere. Like abs for days. Abs on his face. Abs on his arms. Abs! And somehow he thought this makes him irresistible. He’s a beast that thinks he’s a beauty. Like in Beauty and the Beast there is a fair maiden, but she is the one that does most of the rescuing. Hendrix was one protective woman. This is a short romantic comedy and should just be read as such and enjoyed. And they came happily ever after.
  • Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas <— FREAKY FREEBIE ALERT! This is my VERY FIRST DARK READ ever. And I mean DARK!!!!!!!! And I loved it, and I  chastised myself for falling so hard… ’cause you know. DARK. I mean STOCKHOLM SYNDROME DARK. And Nancy just found out it’s a freebie today. YAY US!!!!! I have this in hard cover on my signed favorites shelf, and I cherish it’s “go-there-edness” ;) (P.S. Here’s my review)
  • Stolen Series Box Set (Books 1-3) by Elisabeth Naughton <— SERIES BUNDLE ALERT!!! And it’s super-bargain priced!
  • Her Best Friend’s Dad by Penny Wylder <— RUH ROH. TROUBLE LURKS!! This one was just released and is super-bargain priced! “Moving back home was never my plan. Except here I am, struggling under my evil step-mom’s crushing thumb while I look for work. I feel just like Cinderella, but I never expected my best friend’s DAD to be my prince…
  • Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy <—SHE’S ALWAYS BEEN COMFORTABLE IN HER BODY BUT THEN SHE MEETS HIM… Much loved by some of our readers right here, and highly recommended! Plus, it’s super-bargain priced today! :D In fact it is one of bev’s 2015 favorites and she frequently tells us to read it! “With her all-American-beauty best friend, Ellen, by her side, things have always worked . . .  until Will takes a job at Harpy’s, the local fast-food joint. There she meets Private School Bo, a hot former jock. Will isn’t surprised to find herself attracted to Bo. But she is surprised when he seems to like her back. Instead of finding new heights of self-assurance in her relationship with Bo, Will starts to doubt herself…
  • Guilty Pleasures: An Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Novel by Laurell K. Hamilton <— GAH!!!! BOOK #1 LAURELL K. HAMILTON SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! I was ADDICTED to this series back in my paranormal days… I MEAN ADDICTED!! JEAN CLAUDE WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE… (my review)
  • Knight (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 1) by Kristen Ashley <— KRISTEN ASHLEY ANTI-HERO SUPER-BARGAIN!!! This guy is rough around the edges and has some of his own wild kinks… ;)

  1. Shadow’s Seduction (Immortals After Dark Book 17) by Kresley Cole <— KRESLEY COLE M/M PARANORMAL ROMANCE ALERT!Prince Mirceo Daciano and his new friend, Caspion the Tracker, comb the streets of Dacia, drunkenly seeking out pleasures of the flesh. What has been the most surprising results of the blog in terms of your reading habits, the growth of the blog, the relationships (with authors and other bloggers), and the people who have found this place and now call it home?

Ela February 28, 2017 at 2:22 PM

Undeserving (Undeniable #5) by Madeline Sheehan “This is Preacher and Deborah’s story”

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 2:27 PM

Gah! Is anyone else having problems with amazon or kindle app? I read on the kindle app on my phone mostly and have for years with no real problems. I can’t download anything that I own now or samples or anything. They all just say click to retry. Grrrrr!! I only have a half hr of reading time left before later tonight, this is infuriating! I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app, synced it, turned on and off my phone, tried reading samples through the first look here feature on actual Amazon web and it says retry too!

Ela February 28, 2017 at 2:45 PM

I read some where that God-Shaped Hole should’ve been read before How to Kill a Rockstar, well I already read Rockstar. Anyone know why?

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 2:49 PM

Ela, I don’t think it matters. I think maybe because of an easter egg? They’re both standalones from what I hear though.

Amy February 28, 2017 at 3:05 PM

*kicks at rock*

I don’t CARE about Preacher and Deborah. I care about Gerick and Trinity and Xan!!

Ela February 28, 2017 at 3:06 PM

Oh, ok Thanks Robin.

Ela February 28, 2017 at 3:08 PM

Amy February 28, 2017 at 3:09 PM

I’m having the same problem, Tasha! I thought it was just my phone…

Ela…HTKAR has an Easter egg in it from GSH. ;) I read HTKARS before GSH and it wasn’t an issue. But when Maryse shared the Easter egg with me (which I didn’t realize because I read them in the order I did)…GAH!! It was wonderful. :D

Ela February 28, 2017 at 3:22 PM

Yeah, whatever! I don’t remember any Easter Eggs and sh!t….

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 3:23 PM

There’s a RUSH easter egg in that book I’m not allowed to pimp anymore…

Susan February 28, 2017 at 3:33 PM

I just finished Something in the Way by Jessica Hawkins. I judge a book by whether or not I can put it down and I could not put it down. 5 stars for me. Now I have to wait until May for number 2. Thankfully this list just came out so I will look it over for my next big read and hopefully it will have another page turner.

Susan February 28, 2017 at 3:36 PM

Happy Birthday to the Blog Maryse I’m pretty sure I’ve been around that long. I might not post much but I check in every day and have since the beginning. Can’t do without you since I read a book a day. lol

Leslie M February 28, 2017 at 3:42 PM

Tasha, its NOT you a bunch of sites are down. :(

Leslie M February 28, 2017 at 3:43 PM

Where is there a Rush easter egg?

Marit February 28, 2017 at 3:44 PM

Happy birthday to the best blog, ever! :D I love Tuesdays. I have preordered Dirty Doctor. Can’t wait to read it :)

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 3:44 PM

*whispers TBP*

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 3:58 PM

Well, I’m glad it’s not a service problem or something here I guess, but still. *stamps foot* I had been looking forward to that hour all day. I guess that’s the downside to ebooks (autocorrect tried to make that Ebola, lol) and why I won’t get rid of paperback, but I don’t want to read *those* right now.

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 4:08 PM

Yes!!! It’s back! :D :D

bev February 28, 2017 at 4:38 PM

Wow. The rumor mill is a rolling.

Happy blog birthday, Maryse!

Tessa February 28, 2017 at 4:45 PM

Happy Blog Birthday! *throws confetti*

So, Sweet Venom does look good, and ugh, all those books between this week and next! Next week is Briggs and Bishop. This week is Kresley Cole, the last Night Prince novel (I adore that couple together), and Jennifer L Armentrout. I still have to read Carter Reed 2, because I liked how 1 ended and really liked pretending the HEA was forever. Ah well. Also, Cheater looks good. :D

Grey February 28, 2017 at 5:14 PM

Sorry, it’s my fault I tried to wish Robyn a happy birthday and my phone autocorrected to Robin….and then everyone thought it was R… Geez. I’m stuck at work…ugh! And my internet is UBER slow. It literally took 10 minutes for this page to load. I have zero patience today. I want all the ones on the blurb jolt list, but especially The Butterfly Project and Something in the Way. But then there’s Sweet Venom, Cole and Blackbird and Mister Wrong… See???? Book. Buying. Restriction!

Leslie M February 28, 2017 at 5:39 PM

*screechy yells at R*

Sorry, couldn’t hear you.

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 5:40 PM

“YES! READ IT RIGHT NOW,” I whispered.

Amy February 28, 2017 at 5:43 PM

Ela…you won’t realize the Easter egg until you read GSH. ;)

Amy February 28, 2017 at 5:45 PM

I love easter eggs in seemingly unrelated standalones. :D

Jan February 28, 2017 at 5:45 PM

Happy birthday hugz to Maryse and everyone. Let’s have a big ole grug (group+hug). *grugs everyone*

Hi Susan. Nice to hear from you. *folds Susan into the grug*

Ela, could you please pass me one of those cake shots?

Amy February 28, 2017 at 5:46 PM

Oh, and Ela…we can’t give you the egg until AFTER you’ve finished GSH.

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 6:05 PM

Oh let’s have some King’s cake!! I’ve been seeing it everywhere and it’s making me hungry, it’s perfect for the party!

MichelleS February 28, 2017 at 6:14 PM

Happy Blog-Birthday-versary! It’s been so much fun! Cheers to Maryse! Keep up the good work.

Don’t get me started on Holy Trinity! Trinity means THREE… I was promised 3 books! All I remember now is “fata”.., ugh!!!

Jan February 28, 2017 at 6:23 PM

What is this king’s cake? asks Jan, intrigued.

Leslie M February 28, 2017 at 6:26 PM

Kings cake is something to do with Mardis Gras and it has a little plastic baby in it. (Weird, i know). Whoever gets the baby in their piece “wins”. (Good luck or something)

Fabi February 28, 2017 at 6:41 PM
Sharon February 28, 2017 at 6:43 PM

Happy book blog anniversary!!!! I am over the moon with the angst today . . . I don’t know what to pick! I have been reading Priest. Talk about taboo for us old catholic school girls!

Ela February 28, 2017 at 6:56 PM

Well I started GSH and am waiting for SOMEONE *she knows who SHE is* to join, SHES been avoiding the topic *grumbles, people and their promises of NOT SQUIRRELING*. Anywho, I shall wait for thy egg, I will.

Ela February 28, 2017 at 6:58 PM

Leslie, I think ROBIN MEANT T.H.E. B.U.T.T.E.R.F.L.Y. P.R.O.J.E.C.T

Leslie M February 28, 2017 at 7:42 PM

Ela, I “think” but am not sure as she hardly EVER mentions it, but that R. might possibly like that book a little bit.

bev February 28, 2017 at 7:45 PM

Did she?
I can never tell when R loves a book. I have to really read between the lines.

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 7:50 PM

King cake has to do with Mardi Gras. It’s made of cinnamon filled dough, topped with a sweet glaze and green, purple, and gold sugars to represent faith, justice, and power. Kind of like the 3 kings who brought gifts to baby Jesus. And that’s where the plastic baby comes in. It’s supposed to be whoever finds the baby in the cake will have good fortune in year to come. Honestly the plastic baby creeps me out, but the cake is yummy and the colors are so pretty! Very festive. ;)

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 7:50 PM

I have trouble articulating. I’ll work on it. :D

Fabi February 28, 2017 at 7:52 PM

“I have trouble articulating. I’ll work on it. :D

My computer needs a splash screen. It’s gets sticky every time I spit out my coke after reading one of R’s comments.

Ela February 28, 2017 at 8:18 PM

You do that Robin….lmao! Work on “articulating “

Ela February 28, 2017 at 8:19 PM

Fabi! All I saw in your comment is “it gets sticky every time I spit…..”

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 8:21 PM

I am LOL’ing over this:

“I can never tell when R loves a book,” says bev.

Amy February 28, 2017 at 8:29 PM

“It’s gets sticky every time I spit…”

Ela February 28, 2017 at 8:31 PM

See see SEE? Amy saw it too!

Ela February 28, 2017 at 8:33 PM

Ela February 28, 2017 at 8:34 PM

Oh Maryse!? Where is you? I started GSH and it’s SCARY

Amy February 28, 2017 at 8:38 PM

*slides Manny and a bottle of Jager over to Ela*

Oh, my friend…

Jan February 28, 2017 at 9:03 PM

Yeah the King cake sounds cute and all but the plastic baby kinda creeps me out too *shivers* Whatever happened to the good old silver threepence in the Christmas pudding? At least you could spend that…… (OK, I do realise it’s not Christmas).

May I have please have a teeny sip of Jager, too? OK make that a largish sip.

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 9:23 PM

Ok I had to google what a threepence was and then the Christmas pudding tradition. Lol It’s fun reading about other customs and traditions. I still think of a snack pack when I hear pudding though, so I was surprised to see the pudding cake.

R. Renee February 28, 2017 at 9:24 PM

Oooh thanks for reminding me Tasha! I have chocolate snack packs in the fridge!

Cheryl February 28, 2017 at 9:29 PM

Hi everyone!! Happy Blog Birthday Maryse!!!!!!! Love you and all the hard work you put in to get us all the “bestest” book info!!!!!

I’ve missed ya’ll. Been busy with some home improvement project and some after-school activities for my daughter. Finally catching up on Maryse’s posts! I did read Mr. Wrong- the one by A.M. Madden. I had a hard time getting into it. It was just meh; sad to say boring at times. Not as funny as I thought it would be and the h drove me crazy.

So many good books to choose from the list above and the early bird releases. It’s always feast or famine. ;)

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 9:55 PM

Haha, no problem R! ;) I’ve been trying to satisfy my sweet tooth the past couple days with Girl Scout cookies, but I can only half taste anything right now since I’m still working this cold out of my system. And I can’t clear a box in one sitting if I can’t taste them properly, so I’ll settle for talking sweets and imagining for now. ;)
Welcome back, Cheryl! Weren’t you painting your kitchen? Or remodeling it? I think that was you…if so, I hope it’s going well! My bathroom is still not completed, but I’m hoping it’ll be 90-95% done this weekend. Trim is being put up now so I feel like we’re sorta on the home stretch.
I bought Taking Mine by Rachael Schneider today bc the sample wouldn’t download so I thought if I bought it, it would work. Yea, hours later but I’m going to dive in now. Also want to give Till Death a try.

bev February 28, 2017 at 9:57 PM

Maryse ‘ s part 1 q and a are up.

She totally picks and names favorites.

bev February 28, 2017 at 9:59 PM

I just bought a bag of Cadbury mini eggs. Why?
I know I eat to many.

Tasha J February 28, 2017 at 10:10 PM

Ooh Cadbury mini eggs!!! I’ve always called them the Robin eggs for some reason, ever since I was a kid. I hate the whopper eggs, but the mini are perfect. That crunchy, sugary outer shell and then the chocolate too. (heart emoji bc I’m not talented like you guys and can only :) ;) :P ) I forget Easter stuff is out. I wish I could steer clear of that aisle tomorrow, but now the seed has been planted…

Ashley February 28, 2017 at 10:21 PM

The Cornerstone by Kate Canterbury is on sale for .99 cents! It’s another one that is whispersynched so you can get the audiobook at a discounted rate. It’s one of my favorite audiobooks.

Fabi February 28, 2017 at 11:29 PM

I’ve had people put words in my mouth but never remove them.

Ela and Amy … get your minds out of the shot glasses ladies ;-)

Robyn February 28, 2017 at 11:44 PM

☹️ that’s my grumpy face because the Holy Trinity is NOT a Trinity, but a duo with a side novella! Maryse, you should Madeline Sheehan a copy of this comment section. I’ve bugged her enough asking when the last book is coming out. I think she said after this next “UN” book, but don’t quote me because obviously that changes. I reread THT series last December and revved myself up for more Garrik, Zan and the gang. Ok, I’ll stop ranting…..grrrr.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes!

Robyn February 28, 2017 at 11:46 PM

Maryse…that’s you should send …..I get a little passionate about this Series! LOL

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 6:54 AM

HELP! I need a male only POV (not dual POV) book for one of my reading groups. It should be a fairly recent release (like last 6 months-ish). Only one I can think is Full Package and I already read that.

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 7:33 AM

Mmmmmm….easter candy!!! Yummy!!! I love cadbury mini eggs. Once I eat my way through the bag Lindt balls, I’m getting those.

Ugh! We are trying to do some home improvement here too. We spent entire weekend arguing and trying to pick paint colors. Picking paint is THE WORST!!

Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 7:44 AM

Leslie, Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland, Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, or Kids of Appetite by David Arnold. All of these made it to my best of 2016 list too. Our Chemical Hearts really gives u that feel of John Green/Rainbow Rowell. Dark Matter was so different but really good, easy not too sci-fi, I don’t think, but makes you think, and there is a love story there. Kids of Appetite was love, adventure, friendship, growing up, a hint of mystery, so great!

Ela March 1, 2017 at 7:49 AM

Robyn, we can’t have MS see this because she hates being directed by her fans and will announce NO THIRD BOOK FOR YOU

bev March 1, 2017 at 10:07 AM

Ok. I thought this was going to be a massacre. But instead 25/25. I’m pretty sure it made a mistake. I mean that, I’m pretty sure I answered two wrong. Head scratcher. Anyway if you want to try.

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 10:17 AM

I had to peek Bev. Lol

25/25 but maybe it just gives everyone that score? I was iffy on a few of them.

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 10:22 AM

OMG I got 25/25 too! And I’m shocked because I CANNOT do who/whom.

Today is Ashley Drew’s 1 year book birthday for Never Stop Falling so it’s FREE on Amazon right now!

bev March 1, 2017 at 10:26 AM

You are a grammar person, though. Lol. So I can see that being your score.
But I do think I wasn’t 100%..

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 10:28 AM

Yeah, I usually am…unless it’s who/whom. 😕

bev March 1, 2017 at 10:31 AM

Ok, I just randomly picked and still got 100. That quiz is rigged.
At least I know when I am wrong.

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 10:33 AM

Thanks Tasha, I will check those out. :)

Maryse March 1, 2017 at 10:40 AM

I’m not very who/whom-ish either. ;)

Maryse March 1, 2017 at 10:42 AM

Yay for the recommendations Tasha!! :D Thank you!!!

Maryse March 1, 2017 at 10:49 AM

LOL Robyn!!! :D

Maryse March 1, 2017 at 10:51 AM

Thank you Ashley!!! Good find!!

Ela March 1, 2017 at 11:13 AM

Anna Penwick March 1, 2017 at 11:21 AM

Price Drop Alert From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon is $1.99. This was on R’s top reads of 2016 list.

Tessa March 1, 2017 at 11:28 AM

I got 25/25 and I purposely picked wrong things. I’m actually really good with grammar. I just can’t be bothered most times when texting or typing here.

Amy March 1, 2017 at 11:28 AM

I got 25/25 as well, so I took it again and purposely selected wrong answers. It said I failed but didn’t give me a score.

Then I did the same thing again and it said I passed with 25/25.

Amy March 1, 2017 at 11:55 AM

Hey Maryse, maybe for a “part three” of your blog birthday posts it could be our favorite moments/conversations with memorable outcomes? Such as extreme hilarity or even the discovery of a favorite read which we otherwise would have never tried.

One of my personal favorites was the whole fake Bev/real bev incident which happened on Goodreads but came to light on here. I was literally laughing out loud from the reactions…”Wait, it’s not you I’ve been talking to on GR, bev? Then who is the Bev I’ve been talking to??” LOL!!!!!

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 11:57 AM

OMG that was so funny. I thought forever I’d been talking to this bev on GR. I was like, she’s so different on here!

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 12:01 PM

one word

Ela March 1, 2017 at 12:24 PM

Yes! Bev vs. bev and how I chastised her for recommending WIR and she hasn’t read it and what will Tessa think of that….

Ela March 1, 2017 at 12:25 PM

And of course we have Robin and Renee….

Ela March 1, 2017 at 12:27 PM

Then there are Amy’s culinary SHOT skills!

Grey March 1, 2017 at 12:44 PM

And my T-shirt!!! Which I really think we should still make, btw!

Or the Jezebel night when I totally laid out the F bomb on the blog… Sorry Maryse. *giggle*

I love this place!

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 1:42 PM

The Bev thing was funniest thing EVER! My stomach actually hurt from laughing so hard over that.

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 2:03 PM

My favorite conversation was when my hubby was with all his friends for a guy weekend & Amy convinced me to send him a dirty text! She’s such a bad bad influence!

I only use “whom” when I write professional letters… to whom it may concern.

I used to love Cadbury eggs – the big ones filled with goo. Now they are too sweet!

What a random conversation’

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 2:05 PM

I’m not taking that dang quiz. I studied Linguistics & Speech & Language Patholgy in grad school, and I’m afraid if I do poorly it will reflect badly on me, so…. I will avoid it!!! Hahahaha

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 2:07 PM

Simon vs Homosapiens Agenda is a male POV! Right, Bev?

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 2:09 PM

Yes, we have Bev vs bev, R, RRenee, Renee… but we USED to have a gazillion Michelles, which is why I’m MichelleS. Where’d all the Michelles go?

Amy March 1, 2017 at 2:20 PM

OMG MichelleS!! I remember that one!

You ended up getting a pic texted to you of your hubby’s friend’s a$$…BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 2:20 PM

That should be a song by Glass Surface, “Where’d all the Michelles Go?”

Amy March 1, 2017 at 2:22 PM

We DID have a bunch of Michelles. And whatever happened to our Scottish friend who carried an anti-fae/wraith/shifter/vampire arsenal in her purse??

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 2:28 PM

I was thinking twilight theme song (the show, not the book)

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 2:31 PM

So, I have to share this. You see Maryse’s top highlighted book up there?
Yup, that’s the one that’s R has been going on about too.

The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott

Well, every one of my GR friends who have read it so far have 5-starred it. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I can’t think of when that’s ever happened before. TOTAL AGREEMENT on a 5-star rating.

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 2:41 PM

Fabi!!! Does that mean you might actually read an ES? :D

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 2:45 PM

Who was this Scottish friend with the arsenal? That’s fantastic!

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 2:46 PM

You know I’ve been wanting to. Picking one is the hard part. No, skip that. Picking one is the 2nd hardest part. Getting through my March reading schedule is the hardest part. I have “way” overcommitted myself.

Still. The feedback is REALLY impressive.

Grey March 1, 2017 at 2:46 PM

I’m gonna read it. It will be my next read… And my very first Emma Scott…. Unless I get squirrelly LOL.

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 2:47 PM

Was it Laura or Laurie?

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 2:49 PM

It’s definitely a safe pick for you. But I know you like alphas and Beckett is not an alpha. But he’s both squeezable AND lickable. (But probably germ-y at this point)

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 2:58 PM

eh, I might do better with Rush. Everyone loves that one too. :-)

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 3:01 PM

What!!?? I’ve always said that, but you told me that the H’s accident would be too emotional. He’s definitely more alpha.

Ela March 1, 2017 at 3:02 PM

So, as you all know I started my presence in the “discuss” area of this blog where anything went (Thank you Maryse for the free reign) BUT THAT AREA IS NOT WORKING AT THE MOMENT….any who, I digress, thinking of this person Amy is mentioning who was anti basically everything, we on the discussion “general area” bullied (yup we were nice like that) anyone who disliked any of our favorites. So if someone was new to the “discuss” area and starting posting negative stuff about let’s say Beautiful Disaster we would talk sh!t and make them unwelcome and they’d NOT to that again. Sorry Maryse but are just some lines we have to draw when providing negative criticism to our top reads.

Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 3:20 PM

Mean girls. ;)

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:25 PM

It was Laura!! :D

Ela…she wasn’t against any of those things, she actually loved PNR/UF books (especially the Fever books!) but was so freaked out she would carry all of the things needed to combat the shifters, shades, fae, and vampires in her bag. I remember I was all confused by her carrying a “torch” until she clarified it was what we Americans called a flashlight. *snort*

I’m pretty sure she even talked about making a Mac-halo for her baby for Halloween. LOL!!!!

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:27 PM

I’m still working on my February read (Red Queen) and REALLY liking it! Hey, not my fault the month was short 2 days. :P

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 3:35 PM

Red Queen is good huh?

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:36 PM

It IS! :D

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:36 PM

She keeps shooting off her mouth and I keep cringing… *snicker*

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 3:41 PM

Right? Oh, just wait. This one has “oomph” . Can’t wait to hear what you think when you finish.

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:43 PM

Ooooh, and you KNOW I love *oompf* in my books!!

Amy March 1, 2017 at 3:44 PM

Doesn’t autocorrect know yet how to spell our words here?!?

bev March 1, 2017 at 3:52 PM

Laura was wonderful. She had the best accent. She hasn’t been around forever.

Alright, Ela. Here it goes.
I didn’t like Twilight, or that first Sheehan book, haven’t
Finished 50, the one
Taryn Fisher I read was on my worst list of the year, and the Avoiding Series was a dnf.

bev March 1, 2017 at 3:52 PM

Oh, your auto correct has a lisp.

Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 4:22 PM

I can’t believe you haven’t finished 50 Bev! It gets better with each book, in my opinion. I’ve only read the 1st Twilight, bc I watched the movies 1st (I didn’t even know they were books at the time). I only read the 2nd Sheehan book, I read spoilers to the 1st. I’ve read 2 T Fisher books, loved Marrow, hated The Opportunist. And I can’t remember if I’ve read the 1st Avoiding Commitment book. The cover is throwing me off bc the blurb doesn’t match the story in my head of the one I remember. But in the one I remember there was a 5 years later part towards the end that sort of ruined it for me.

Grey March 1, 2017 at 4:30 PM

Bwahahha *takes a breath*
hahahaha. *takes cover in the blankie fort*
hahahha,*grabs bev and Tasha*
get in here and be quiet! *giggle*

Oh dear, that was awesome, I love this place. It’s been… A. Day. I am going to tuck in and finish Mists of the Serengeti. I am done adulting for the day. The children and the husband are going to have to fend for themselves for tonight, because…. I’m done LOL.

Ela March 1, 2017 at 5:18 PM

bev? YOU would’ve been bestest friends with Jessica (from the discussion boards), I believe she shared your feelings UNLIKE ME I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DIDN’T LIKE THE OPPORTUNIST (IS THAT THE SERIES?) OR TWILIGHT – WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU???? 50, sadly I can see, it’s not everyone’s cuppa and F^%KIN’ JACK CAN GO SUCK A DONKEY…

Ela March 1, 2017 at 5:19 PM

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 5:21 PM

Me either Tasha… *ducks*

Amy March 1, 2017 at 5:22 PM

Jack the baseball player? ‘Cause he is definitely a donkey sucker…

Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 5:33 PM

Uh…lol I just glad I’m not the only one. I thought everyone here loved it.

R. Renee March 1, 2017 at 5:36 PM

I didn’t hate it, it was just OK for me. But I figured this out the other day. When I found Maryse, I read a gazillion of her 5 stars back to back. Then I ended up comparing them to each other. So there’s that.

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 6:02 PM

Is it confession time?
I like Sheehan / just about anything she writes works for me.
I like The Opportunist Series.
I read Mud Vein, but it was way out there for me.
I loved the Twilight books but hated the movies.
I liked 50 Shades books, couldn’t watch movie, but would probably hate it now, it was just totally different for me having read so much historical romance & PNR for years.
So here’s my BIG confession: I really like C.Hoover books when I’m reading them, then I can’t remember them AT ALL when I see them in my library. They are just “poof” out of my head!

Grey March 1, 2017 at 6:05 PM

*grabs the popcorn*

Fabi March 1, 2017 at 6:17 PM

*snort* Grey

you guys ALWAYS make me laugh

Ela March 1, 2017 at 6:43 PM

No Amy Jack the Avoiding series…arsehole although I kinda liked the first 2 books they still pissed me off royally

Ela March 1, 2017 at 6:45 PM

Amy March 1, 2017 at 6:46 PM

*gasp* Ela! Did you read the third one?? I NEVER thought he could redeem himself but holy moly, that book smacked my ass and called me Sally.

Ela March 1, 2017 at 6:58 PM

I did Amy BUT I felt for Ram or whatever his name, and felt it was kind of a cop out….too nicely tied with a bow IMO

Amy March 1, 2017 at 7:08 PM

I get it, Ela.

Don’t agree with you, but I get it.

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 7:19 PM

Ela – RAM? The only Ram I know was Rammel Hawking – the hottest elf ever written – with an Irish accent to boot! Fanning myself!!!

MichelleS March 1, 2017 at 7:25 PM

I have a other confession:

Every time I see Ela’s name I sing “Ela Ela Ela”.

For Fabi I say “Fabulous”

And for Amy I drag out her name… Aaaaamy…. like I’m about to scold her!

And Maryse – I say it kinda like that song lyric “Maurice” / where I trill the R.

Ok. I’m weird.

bev March 1, 2017 at 7:30 PM

I say Maurice sometimes to, then sing about space cowboys.

I some times think Fabiola.

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 7:50 PM

BEV!!!!! What the heck???

I read Dumplin’ for you!!!!

Amy March 1, 2017 at 8:22 PM

I already really liked this song, but the video! I love it. Seriously love it when paired with the lyrics.

And no, it is NOT a sad song. ;)

bev March 1, 2017 at 8:33 PM

What?? What’d I do?

Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 8:39 PM

LOL Grey!
I guess hate is a strong word that I tend to use often and lightly. It was a little less than ok for me.
I play with names too. Like even if it’s not your name, I’ll say Beverly. Or Ames for example. Also with Ela I’ll sing Ela Ela Ela, aye. (To Rhianna) I call my husband THomas or Thom with the (th) sound even though it’s not his full name or the correct was to say it. And I like to make up middle names. lol I’m weird.

Amy March 1, 2017 at 8:46 PM

I always think of Fabi’s gorgeous full name (Fabiana) when I see her. ;)

And the other day I was messing with my voice feature and tried to use it to comment…when I said Maryse it typed Maurice. And I, too, kept thinking about the space cowboy song for hours after. *snort*

Leslie M March 1, 2017 at 8:59 PM

Um, Bev……”I didn’t like Twilight”

bev March 1, 2017 at 9:06 PM
Tasha J March 1, 2017 at 9:17 PM

Michelle S- what book is this RAM you speak of from?? I just emailed Maryse like a week ago or something trying to figure out a book I couldn’t remember the name of.

bev March 1, 2017 at 9:59 PM

I’m so behind on my reading and yet all I’m thinking of is the 7th.
Which one first? Briggs is the faster read and it is a work night. But it’s the last one and I need to know how it all ties up.

Cheryl March 1, 2017 at 10:15 PM

Like that song too Amy.

Good lord Bev!!

Maryse March 1, 2017 at 10:26 PM

Oh boy I’ve heard that one before, with my name, bev. LOL!!! I think it was you!

bev March 1, 2017 at 10:53 PM

Cheryl, it has been popping up at different blogs, lol. Thought it might distract Leslie.

Maryse, I think it was. And if I remember everyone was all….um, no, we don’t start singing that song, lol.

Amy March 1, 2017 at 11:25 PM

MARYSE!! I haven’t gushed much about it (don’t want to be accused of peddling a death book *side-eyes bev* :P ) but…

The writing is fantastic and oh my, the feels. Holy moly, I felt. FELT. So freaking much. It was 4.5 stars for me. Maybe closer to 5. The three POVs actually added to the emotional intensity instead of taking away, at least to me they did. *sigh* Wasn’t I just saying recently I wanted this kind of book??

Cheryl March 2, 2017 at 7:18 AM

Amy, the blurb reminds me of The Girl in 6E; because of her “tendencies” the h doesn’t trust herself among other people either.

Ela March 2, 2017 at 7:40 AM

Tasha it’s the Avoiding series by KA Linde. And the other guys name is Ramsey

Ela March 2, 2017 at 7:44 AM

Awwwww! You guys! I love that song!

Tasha J March 2, 2017 at 8:24 AM

No, not that one Ela, she said Rammel Hawking, a hot Irish elf. I’m thinking maybe it’s the book I can’t remember the name of and it’s been driving me nuts for months.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:38 AM

Tasha – it’s My Familiar Stranger and it’s FREE!!! Ram is in my top 5 favorite men ever!

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:40 AM

The author actually rewrote that book from his POV because he is beloved! That one is called Vampire Hunter I think! I got an autographed copy. Ram is just that hot!

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:51 AM

I just finished All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. I reserved it at my library a while back. Whoa. Just whoa. Not sure what I think if it. Has a lot of “ick” in it.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:52 AM

Now I’m reading The Weaving Man. Incredible writing so far! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Tasha J March 2, 2017 at 9:28 AM

Yes!! I checked my library and that’s the one!!! Thank you! :D I really loved that book, but I couldn’t even remember their names, just the gist of the storyline. Ah, and I’m so happy there’s a book in his pov. I’m totally doing a re-read, then I’ll go to that one next.

Amy March 2, 2017 at 9:32 AM

MichelleS…that was pretty much my reaction to All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. :?

You KNOW I’m all for taboo, but that age difference was a bit too much even for me. Add to that a side character stating being with him was like having sex with a walrus and the h commenting about a sweaty roll on his gut and EW!!! No, no, no. Yes, I’m shallow like that with my book guys. *shrug*

bev March 2, 2017 at 9:39 AM

*puts a hand over my stomach roll*

I haven’t been reading the last couple days. Just one of those weird times even though I’m enjoying the book I was reading. Now I have a stack of over due library books and GR lead is getting smaller.

Ela March 2, 2017 at 9:48 AM

Oh gotcha! And it looks like I already have this Rammel book. Sounds good!

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 9:49 AM

Amy – I want to fall for my leading man, and he was a hard guy to fall for! Sure, he was sweet as all get out, but the constant references to his “extra weight” and all the “sweat” and that tattoo of his! And his greasy hair. And his “plank face” – what the heck? I was starting to picture Andre the giant and that was no good. And of course, she was itty bitty teeny tiny extra small petite wearing little girl’s clothes. What an odd couple. It was an uncomfortable read for sure.

Ela March 2, 2017 at 9:51 AM

Ela March 2, 2017 at 9:55 AM

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 9:55 AM

I love waking up to sexy stomach roll convos! Mimosa?

bev March 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM

Deuce?? Blech. Old stinky punk. Blech. Seriously, those two girls should of just ran off to Paris on their vacation.

bev March 2, 2017 at 10:01 AM

Ok I’m grumpy this morning. My stomach roll had no caffeine.

bev March 2, 2017 at 10:17 AM

“I was on the run to escape my demons when I found my refuge under the blue.”
—Glass Surface

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 10:17 AM

OH MY GOD. I can’t even.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 10:18 AM

Deuce? I must be weird because I was not turned off by Deuce! I know, I know! The horror. But that was the first seriously gritty MC Club book I read, so I was just into it.

I wasn’t turned off by this guy so much as I was not turned ON, you know what I mean? Lots of sweaty creases – ICK – man boobs not okay for my heroes. LOL.

Best antihero types? For me it’s guys like Dex – or someone who is scarred (like Zhadist) then I can handle the “non traditional leading man”. Am I shallow that I don’t want him to be fat and sweaty?

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 10:21 AM

FLT “I blinked.” Unveiling Ghosts by Jeannine Allison.

This one is by a fairly new author. First book of her’s I’ve read. The cover is gorgeous.

Amy March 2, 2017 at 10:23 AM

“I was starting to picture Andre the giant”

Amy March 2, 2017 at 10:29 AM

MichelleS, if you’re shallow then so am I, and I’m just fine being book shallow like that.

Now, scarred H’s like Zhadist? Oh my, I love ‘em. I love HIM (Zhadist). Scarred or less than perfect H’s are just fine with me. It’s the whole man boob (I died when I read that up there) and sweaty roll thing I can’t handle.

bev March 2, 2017 at 10:33 AM

I haven’t read the book …but it’s not supposed to be a sexy read, right? But show the grimy, depressing side, right?

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 10:38 AM

—Glass Surface

OMG hahahahaha

bev March 2, 2017 at 10:48 AM

Hey, don’t laugh at the title. It’s a good book.

Leslie M March 2, 2017 at 10:51 AM

As usual, you guys have me cackling over here while I’m also hiding my (not sweaty) fat roll.

Grey March 2, 2017 at 10:55 AM

Omfg, I legit just snorted while I was all clandestine trying to pretend I was reading a work email with a colleague in my office…. Uh, *Busted* Bwahahaha!

Amy March 2, 2017 at 11:17 AM

YEAH GREY!!!! The same thing happened to Fabi when she was in class one time…it’s a right of passage around here!!

*WHOOPS loudly and dances around*

Ela March 2, 2017 at 11:21 AM

Tessa March 2, 2017 at 11:56 AM

Visiting the Master of the City of New Orleans was always challenging, but it was worse when he was in a mood.
Broken Soul by Faith Hunter

OMG, now sweaty men with underage girls? EEeeew! Just, nope. lol You all kept mentioning that one guy was pasty, but I swear, that one cover with the pale guy and a farmer’s tan, he was puffy! He looked like he was on steroids to get muscle. *shudders* I like a lot of muscles, but not puffy!

Bev, Glass Surface by whom? I went to look and I started to find out about mosaics. :/

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 12:00 PM

Tessa, The Glass Surface thing is totally pointing fingers and laughing at (not with) Fabi. She (hopefully jokingly) gave us some examples of the kind of book titles she likes: Glass Surface, Escape the Demons, and Under the Blue (summarizing). I immediately snagged GS for a band name in my book! bev just took it further!

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 12:01 PM

I must say, Fabi makes me LOL all the time, but that took an actual recovery period.

Maryse March 2, 2017 at 12:18 PM

LOL!!! Just watching you guys laughing your butts off, and some of y’all freaking out… makes me laugh.

*scrolls back to see what’s so funny*

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 12:41 PM

Tessa!!! Bev!!!! OMG — you guys! I’m dying. Bev, you are so bad. hahaha Tessa, she was teasing me, there is no real book by that name. (that I know of)

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 12:43 PM

Maryse, they’re being mean to me. :-(

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 1:33 PM

FLT: “He had many names. Aylam Josirus, Lord Stettan, The Surelian Solution, who used his dead mother’s tribal name -Menders -as his sole identity, stood alone outside the door of the royal birthing chamber in the Great Palace of Mordania.” – The Weaving Man, by Tove Ford.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 1:37 PM

Ooh! R. Renee – band names? Can we contribute??? Huh huh huh? Stormtrackers…. Electric Violence… Hush… Greek Keys…, LOL!

R. Renee March 2, 2017 at 1:39 PM

OMG MichelleS!! Greek Keys? I’m dying!

bev March 2, 2017 at 2:14 PM

Fabi will not read Sea of Tranquility because the title is too boring. She thinks Glass Surface would be more catchy. Lol.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 2:30 PM

I think Sea of Tranquility sounds very….. tranquil… nothing wrong with that title!

R. Renee – I have been on pinterest too much lately and greek key “stuff” keeps coming up for me. No clue why!

There ARE some books with better titles than others. In the Absence of Light was a great title and cover!

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 2:32 PM

I won’t even read samples for titles that are just to get my attention. I’m passive aggressive like that. “Trashy Whore” “Slut” “Rough Cop” “Spank Me” “Manwhore” “Bend me Over” – whatever – if it sounds like a cheap porno I don’t want to read it. What is with authors these days? I don’t remember seeing junk like that on the bookshelves years ago. E-Books are making us all a little trashier.

Tasha J March 2, 2017 at 2:49 PM

FLT- “Everyone comes to a point in their life when, if desperate enough, scared enough, they’ll do anything to protect the people they love.” -Taking Mine By Rachel Schneider
I’m actually almost finished now. I’m at the climax *rubs hands, smiling manically.* This book hadn’t even been on my radar. I found it randomly and thought the premise sounded good. I figured it would be ok, hopefully good. But I’m actually really loving it! It was exactly what I needed. It’s NA, and it gives me the same feeling as a lot of my old favorites did. It’s like a mashup of a bunch I can’t put my finger on, but also had me thinking a little of Fast and the Furious. There’s no racing though, just sort of those feelings. Pleasantly surprised!

Ela March 2, 2017 at 3:04 PM

Ok so what’s the EGG? What’s the connection between GSH and HTKAR????

Leslie M March 2, 2017 at 3:29 PM

“Ebooks are making us all a little trashier”

Hee hee

Amy March 2, 2017 at 4:07 PM

“Trashy Whore” “Slut” “Rough Cop” “Spank Me” “Manwhore” “Bend me Over” – whatever – if it sounds like a cheap porno I don’t want to read it.

OMG!!! You’re killing me MichelleS…LOL!!!!!!

Tasha J March 2, 2017 at 4:14 PM

Finished! I would totally recommend if you’re in the mood for a good NA with great characters, a good storyline and some action. I love finding little gems, I can’t believe there are so few ratings, but from what I’ve seen they’re all good! It says it was published in 2015.

Maryse March 2, 2017 at 4:27 PM

LOL! I saw EGG and read it in my head as E.G.G.

Ela I’ll tell you in a bit… in Facebook messaging.

Maryse March 2, 2017 at 4:29 PM

Fabi would LOVE it. LOVE IT.

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 4:31 PM

Fabi would love what? What did I miss? I love love. Tell me. :-)

Amy March 2, 2017 at 5:25 PM

Wait, wait, wait…

*record screeches*

Ela! Did you actually finish GSH yet?? Because if not then NO Easter egg for you yet. It will ruin the ending. MARYSE! Did you hear that? Ela has been sneaking spoilers out of unsuspecting ladies on here!!

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 5:25 PM

I just downloaded a sample of Taking Mine.

Weaving Man is a looong book, so I’ll need a quick light read after that.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 5:27 PM

“Ok so what’s the EGG? What’s the connection between GSH and HTKAR????”

- I have NO CLUE what any of that means? What’s HTKAR? Hot-car?

Tessa March 2, 2017 at 5:31 PM

How to Kill a Rockstar

Grey March 2, 2017 at 5:41 PM

OMG! Girls!!! It’s a holiday!!! It’s World Book Day and I didn’t even know it!!! I would have taken the day off!!!! So… Happy World Book Day to some of the best people I know! May all of your reads be entertaining…and may the odds be ever in your favor! Xoxox!

Cheryl March 2, 2017 at 5:43 PM

Omg you guys have seriously made my day. I was in lice-checking hell today at work. Now my head itches so bad and I don’t want to touch it!!

“With each step I take, my temper burns brighter.” Sweet Rivalry by K. Bromberg.

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 5:50 PM

“HTKAR? Hot-car?”

dang it! My splash screen has arrived from Amazon yet. *reaches for Windex*

Michelle that one was awesome!

Nay March 2, 2017 at 6:01 PM

Hey, everyone! I got my new heart and all is going great! I can’t tell you what a blessing it is to have a healthily beating heart for the first time in fourteen years! They got rid of the chest tube this afternoon, and hopefully, I’ll be out of cardiac ICU tomorrow and possibly go home by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thanks again SO much for your thoughts and prayers–they mean so very much to me! I’ll try to get on here in the next couple of days and get caught up, but for now, I’m just watching A LOT of Food Network, lol! Talk to you all again soon!

P.S. Happy blog birthday, Maryse–sorry I missed all the wonderful posts!

Fabi March 2, 2017 at 6:14 PM

Tasha J March 2, 2017 at 7:23 PM

That’s such great news Nay!! I hope the rest of your recovery is smooth sailing and you can keep comfortable while you rest!
Michelle S, if you like the sample and want to give it a try, I’m happy to loan! It’s not often I get a book anymore that’s loanable.

Amy March 2, 2017 at 7:43 PM

MichelleS…there is a God-Shaped Hole easter egg in How to Kill a Rockstar. ;)

OMG Cheryl…BLECH!!!!! :?

*hands Fabi Maryse’s Lysol wipes*

Amy March 2, 2017 at 7:44 PM

NAY!!!!! Soooooooo freaking happy to hear from you and that you’re doing so well!!!

Nay!! Big big gentle hugs to you!!!

(my first line says “nip” in it!!!) *giggles*

bev March 2, 2017 at 8:05 PM

MichelleS & Tessa we have important decisions to make.
What book are we reading first on Tuesday?

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:11 PM

Briggs. Got to go with Briggs.

MichelleS March 2, 2017 at 8:13 PM

I have to admit, I’m nervous about Mercy being in Europe alone! I NEED her secondary characters to love the books! Are we going to get enough Adam?

Cheryl March 2, 2017 at 8:51 PM

Nay such great news!! Hope you are feeling so much better than your old self- hope you’re pleasantly surprised at how much better you feel with the new heart!!! (That’s what I heard a lot when I worked with post-transplant patients both in SICU and especially in the cath lab for their biopsies). ;)

Amy March 2, 2017 at 9:19 PM

LESLIE!! YAY!!! *hug-tackles Leslie*

Tessa March 2, 2017 at 9:59 PM

Congrats Nay! That’s beyond wonderful. Now just rest and get healed up from the surgery. :D

Lisa Aiello March 2, 2017 at 10:09 PM

Oh Nay – I’m so glad to hear it went well. You take good care of yourself and heal quick….we have a date for the Jack & Jill series as soon as you are up to it!!!

Jan March 3, 2017 at 12:27 AM

Wonderful news Nay. Hope your recovery is smooth and you are feeling good soon.

Maryse March 3, 2017 at 7:11 AM

I’m so thrilled. What a surgery!!!!! HOLY MOLY but it’s such wonderful news, and this is the most wonderful post of all… :D <3 <3

Ela March 3, 2017 at 10:04 AM

Hey Amy! I finished GSH and loved it but THAT was NOT cool not cool at all!

Renee!!!!!! OMG I’m so happy you are well and can write and report back to us! Happy, healthy, and safe recovery our friend!

Ela March 3, 2017 at 10:08 AM

See I’m confused that this Briggs book is supposed to be the last cause on GR there’s a #11 without synopsis or cover???? Are we sure #10 is the last one???? I’m reading #8 right now.

bev March 3, 2017 at 10:31 AM

The last? I don’t know. Her husband recently passed so wouldn’t surprise me if delays in her series.
But Etched in Bone will be the last in the Others series by Bishop.

Ela March 3, 2017 at 10:43 AM

I’m sorry to hear that! So a re-read of the last the Others is probably in order for me…

Amy March 3, 2017 at 10:46 AM

Ela…I sent you a message on GR with the easter egg. ;)

Grey March 3, 2017 at 1:24 PM

Tell me that I’m not the only one who has been checking all day for the Friday post…. LOL! And the part 3 of Birthday Shenanigans. I’m avoiding adulting in a major way today. Breaks. Lunch. This is where I check in first… Hi all!

Tessa March 3, 2017 at 1:47 PM

I do, but I figure real life is busy with Maryse right now. :D

Fabi March 3, 2017 at 1:48 PM

Does anyone ever use Prime Reading? (not KU) It’s a selection of free books for Prime members. I keep forgetting about it but they have quite a selection. Authors like. K.A. Linde, Lauren Blakely, Aleatha Romig, etc. They even have Audio books available.

Ela March 3, 2017 at 2:05 PM

I have Grey…

Fabi, I tried using my husbands Prime but don’t know where the books go…

Maryse March 3, 2017 at 2:06 PM

YAY!!! Thank you Anna! I’m putting it on today’s Friday Finds list.

Fabi March 3, 2017 at 2:08 PM

Ela, here is a link to their current list of available free books. I believe they change them out periodically.

Maryse March 3, 2017 at 4:43 PM

AMY. OMG!!!!

How did you hear about this book??!!!! GAH IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO READ!!!

Amy March 3, 2017 at 5:16 PM

I know I answered on the other post but I’m answering here as well because Female of the Species is JUST THAT GOOD.

I *think* I picked it up when it was at a bargain price (pretty sure?) but I would SO pay full flipping price for it. Finished it a week ago and still think about it several times a day.
