The Woman in Cabin 10 (psych-thriller about a woman enjoying herself on a cruise, but she sees a woman being thrown overboard… but ALL of the guests remain accounted for, so nobody believes her), Read My Lips (Lisa LOVED this brooding, deaf, impatient hero, and I know I will, too), Wolfsong (M/M dark fantasy by an author that I love, and my fellow readers loved it so much they can’t move on, it was just SO good!!), Hitched (that one up there to the left, but I have to read #1 first – still the “fake marriage for an inheritance PLUS having to produce an heir, and they hate each other” premise is right up my alley!! :D), A Gift of Time (book #1 was raw, and gritty and kidnappy-crazy, and now I can finish the series) Anything but Love (sounds like one of those fun rom-com reads), Tear-Stained Teddy Bears (he falls for a pregnant waitress, but she’s a surrogate… and troubles ensue) and The Girl Who Escaped ISIS (a true story about a young woman living a nice life but then captured and “Held in a slave market in Syria and sold into the homes of several ISIS soldiers…”).

- Read My Lips (A College Obsession Romance) by by Daryl Banner <— BROODING, IMPATIENT “PERFECTLY F#&KED UP” HERO ALERT! Lisa went CRAZY for this one! (and here it is on Amazon UK)
Lisa: “Maryse I read Read My Lips by Daryl Banner today (I think you had on your list back in June when it was released). I absolutely floved it! Its a bit like a cross between Maybe Someday and Bad Romeo. Set at a Theatre College. Desdemona, daughter of NY Theatre Royalty escapes to Texas to have a ‘normal’ college life and runs into bad boy Texan Clayton. The writing was stellar and it had this tensiony vibe throughout the whole book….I couldn’t put it down. The H is ….hot damn *furious face fanning* sizzling. Silent, broody, impatient and struggling to come to terms with being deaf. 5 stars for me. Has anyone else read it??
Fabi: Has anyone read Read my Lips by Daryl Banner? It came out last month.
Lisa: Read My Lips. I floved it. Floved it. 5 starred that sucker. Clayton is just……perfectly f#&ked up.”

Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy…exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.” (and here it is on Amazon UK)
- Wolfsong by TJ Klune <— M/M DARK FANTASY ROMANCE ALERT! So many of our M/M fans are LOVING this one! (and here it is on Amazon UK)
Fabi: I just finished Wolfsong. It feels like it took a long time to read. But it wasn’t the 400 pages. It was the total immersion into that world. I am literally stunned speechless at the brilliance of this book. Wolfsong is “candy canes and pinecones and epic and awesome”
MichelleS: Right, Fabi? Right!?!?!? I want another book just like that one. Same feels. I keep starting books & nothing is clicking. It messed with my head. I think Ox is my new favorite male lead 2016. Sigh.
Fabi: MichelleS, you must be reading my mind because I was thinking that I can’t start another book right now. I just want to wallow in this incredible experience. I think I’m going to go hug all my neighbours. Never mind I don’t know any of them.
R. Renee: I’m so happy for you guys!! I love it when a book is so good you have to mourn it!!
Jan: Well, I popped on the proverbial big girl panties and bravely picked up Wolfsong again, after being scared there was too much drama and angst ahead. Now I’m at 64% and I can deal. In fact, I’m fluvvin it. Yes, it’s candy canes and pinecones and epic and awesome. (If you read it you’ll find out what that means……. 😀 ) This is a WONDERFUL book. I’m in love with Ox, (even though he’s in love with Joe). I can’t wait to see what will happen next. Read it, ladies. I haven’t been this gripped by a book in quite a while. *excited grin with jazz hands*
Fabi: That’s awesome Jan. It was hard to get past that part but Klune worked out that plot twist perfectly imho. So glad you’re liking it.
Lisa: Jan…I love it when a book inspires happy dancing and jazz hands!!

Amy’s looking for her next awesome read and bev insists on this one! “I still say sample Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda, Amy. *sigh* Not sure why, except I think you might like him and appreciate is voice and humor. Actually, a lot like Undecided, I think that book would be a good fit for many on here. One of those fun books, with good writing, witty characters, wonderful insights, and has some emotional heft with out being over dramatic. C’mon Amy, Maryse, Lisa, Jean, and etc (our roster is getting long (but where is Michelle? ?)) Just sample it, what’s a sample, 4 minutes?” (and here it is on Amazon UK)
- Undecided by Julianna Keyes <— ONE OF MY 5-STAR FAVORITES FOR 2016 (AND OF ALL TIME) HAS A NEW COVER ALERT... and since it was just mentioned, AND since it has a new cover (*sigh* I like the new cover BIG time, but I REALLY loved the original one) AND since it’s on sale right now to celebrate the new cover, I’m putting it back on the list! I’m not usually one for novellas, but, omg, this is good! I had the privilege of meeting Erica Lynn at the recent Writer’s Retreat that Robin hosted. Such a sweet and funny young lady. I can’t believe the steam she writes in these pages. She has 3 books out in this series with the last one published just last week. Is it an elaborate hoax?” Thank you bev. This one isn’t even on my radar!!!
- Black-Eyed Susans: A Novel of Suspense by Julia Heaberlin <— PSYCH-THRILLER SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! She survived a serial killer with barely any memory of it…”Now, almost two decades later, Tessa is an artist and single mother. Awesome list…wow, two back to back days full of great reads!
Sooo, I started reading Unexpected Reality…remember this one Maryse? The one with the HOT cover of the ‘bad boy’ holding the baby?!?! So yeah…I start reading this and in my mind, I think I know where this is going….hit a speed bump…change directions…think in my head that the detour is over….Yeah, NOT! Already, I am having those feels…let you in on a secret…*whispers very low, I like knowing who the main players are before I start reading…I like to know who I am cheering for*. I am having those feels because I am confused, bewildered, unsure if WHO I am cheering for….
Well… DG? That sounds… great. :P!!!! I LOVE when that happens. LOVE.
What a list! *swoon*
No matter how many I read there are always more great ones listed here.
One more for the list…this one comes out tomorrow and I’m super interested in it: The Arrangement by Felice Stevens, M/M Romance

I posted this on the previous list thread, but Twisted by Andrew E. Kaufman is on sale. I NEED a BR for this crazy thriller.
Thank you for including Through Fire!
Please help I was so happy when you put a U.K link on your book suggestions this has dissapeared and even when I click on to your recommendations it does not have a U.K link anymore
Please help
Great list! Thanks Maryse! You rock hard!
I’m on it, Fiona. 😀 I will add a bunch of ’em for you. 🙂
Many thanks xxx
It’s good. I just am not sure what I should be feeling…I mean there was a CONNECTION…I know there was…just uncertain on the… why would you do this?!?! I will see it through…my hopes were raised …and then smashed to pieces….is it drama queen Tuesday???? *straightens my tiera*
*hides behind her hands* I haven’t read Torn yet. It came through last night a little late, around nine thirty, and I started a borrow from BookLending, Demons by Ednah Walters. I’ll read it after though! Maybe after a skim of Wicked. 😀
Look at those pre-orders. I already pre-ordered HP and Broken Prince. Also, the day after HP comes out, Arcana Zero, then the next day, Dragonmark. *wipes forehead* I’m going to be busy that week!
YES! Must read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda…I read that a while back and LOVED it! So Good. WOLFSONG is calling my name after I finish ACED which is awesome as well!
Ugh, I am so bummed. I have to be good. There are a couple of these that I want…but they are so pricey. *pout*
Like the Tell Me Three Things bev, I really want to read that one… but at 9.99, gah! Wolfsong is 5.38 (um, hello captain random on the price of that one) and Geez… The Woman in Cabin 10 is 10.99… wahhhh!
Pennies by Pepper Winters is live on Amazon for 99 of them!!! This is not a drill people! I am hunkering down… this is the book where the pre-buzz is saying the H is worse than Q and Barrons?!? *grabbing Manny and some wine, some chocolate and snuggling into the blankie fort*
Really Grey? Awesome! *one clicks* I’m set for a while on books. 😀
This is true and supposedly he’s her baddest!!!!!!!!
I posted it up there. 😀
Maryse and co…i just read Lock and Key and the followup Random and Rare by Cat Porter.
I know theyre oldies and perhaps everyone else has already read them BUT if you haven’t PLEASE PLEASE read these books.
I am wrecked, wrung out and emotionally drained. Dig’s story (told from the grave) in Random and Rare has ruined me. Eleventy billion stars for me and some of the best biker books Ive read… Dig will break your heart even more than Havoc (Susan Fanetti).
*shuddery sigh*
On to Bossman because I need something sweet and low angst to mend my broken heart.
Thanks for another awesome list. Id never find these amazing books without you and all of the reader recs here.
I just finished Until Harry by La Casey, love it!!! Unrequited love and friends to lovers is always good and it was released today too.
Completely sold on Wolfsong! I’ve loved another of her books.
And Daisy Prescot, she’s an auto buy.
Through Fire by Freya Barker great inclusion a good read to
Read My Lips…..yes, please! I so agree with you ladies…an awesome read! A definite to add to EVERYONE’s TBR list!!!!
Alright girls, I’m throwing a 5 star rec into the mix. Some of you may remember a couple weeks ago I had a string of really good reads, thanks to my spreadsheet…and 1 ARC that I was reviewing. Well, today is that ARC’s book birthday!
**Eminent Love by Leddy Harper.** I actually wrote a review… like a real review to post instead of just rating it on Goodreads, like I do with almost all other books I read. But I wanted to show it some love on the blog and encourage you all to give it a try. A warning that this is an emotional read…remember me with the whole swapping of the Godiva wrappers for tissues and all that, but it was so worth it!
Anyway… I started Pennies last night… oh man, it is classic Pepper Winters and I’m stuck in the inbetween…who do I love, who do I hate?!?!!
Man, I thought I would just pop in here and say hi and peek at the list real quick (I was so stupid busy yesterday that I *completely* forgot yesterday was new-release day!), but I should know there’s no such thing as peeking real quick at Maryse’s Tuesday lists. 😉 SO many good ones up there!!
Okay, so I’m going to say it…why did they have to put a shirtless guy on the new cover of Undecided? I liked the old cover because it was simple but appealing. NOW it has a shirtless guy in the front and looks like all the rest! My library is full of shirtless guys and that whole half-naked guy thing has just lost its novelty for me. I think the new cover would have been perfect if he had a shirt on. Just my two cents and now I’m off my soapbox.
I know it Amy… it’s a nice cover, but not as original as the first. I loved the sweetness and insecurity and the kind of… temptation of the first one.
Trying to catch up and read Maryse’s posts and all the comments I missed while away.
I did just finish Bossman. I LOVED it. Maybe a 5*. I’m still thinking about the “resolution.” It bothers me when it seems insurmountable and then “boom” back to sexy times. Otherwise, the humor, and gah Chase had so many laugh out loud comments, to the h, Reece, who had her own share of “flaws”, and was so well-written and understandable in her reluctance to get involved with Chase. I also liked their *mostly* honest communication with each other; no miss-communications or mind-games. Definite recommendation. Great writing, laugh-out-loud, slow-burn, some angst read!
Now to figure out what to read next…
Hmmm Grey, maybe Eminent Love is next. I read your review. Although, the cover of Up In The TreeHouse and Fleeting Moments has caught my attention. And Stroked sounds hilarious good, although I’m a little unclear if this is a standalone.
A couple of days ago…this happened:
Two of my favorite books/authors won RITA awards !!!
HIM by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
and
For Real by Alexis Hall
If you’re interested in the full list of winners, here’s the website:
https://www.rwa.org/page/2016winners
You know, I’ve not read one of those books. Also, I’ve only heard of three. The two you mentioned, (because you’ve mentioned them before) and Must Love Chainmail, which was used as an “If you like Outlander” rec. Weird.
I loved Wolfsong. Highly recommend. Yes it is mm but that wasn’t a problem for me. Joe and Ox. So wonderful together. Gender didn’t matter. A very enjoyable, exciting, dramatic, tension-filled pnr with a different feel from the usual. Maybe cos it’s written by a guy? I usually don’t read romances written by men (not that there are that many out there lol) but this one was a goodie.
What’s everyone reading?
I’m about to start “Hitched” (book #1), bev. You?
I’m reading Rock Wedding. It’s kind of sweet but nothing wonderful. I’m reading it cos it’s the final in a series I’ve enjoyed. I liked the first book Rock Addiction best but sadly none of the others have quite lived up to the first book, including this one. Oh well. One of those ‘I’ll keep reading cause it might get better’ jobbies. (Did I just write jobbies? Huh. Is that a word? Or a thing?) Oh well, at least in this book we get to revisit some fav characters from the earlier books and see what they’re up to. That’s always fun.
I’m looking forward to The Angels Share. I really liked The Bourbon Kings Bk 1 in J.R.Ward’s NON paranormal series. This is Bk 2 and I’ve been waiting for it. I borrowed bourbon kings from the library and it looks like I’ll have to wait to do the same with angels share cos the amazon price is outrageous :/ Bourbon kings was a big sprawling southern family drama/ melodrama reminiscent of that old TV series Dallas. You think, omg did that happen? Did they go THERE? Who is screwing who? (literally and figuratively lol) What the f will happen next? It was great.
I’m not sure yet. I started a book last night. It took a while but then I got really into it. But then today lost interest and sort of did a skim and decided didn’t feel like sticking with it.
Amy I’m with you on the book covers. Sounds crazy, but I’m so sick of the shirtless guy covers. Yeah I love a muscled hero (duh who doesn’t?) but these ridiculous OTT sculpted eight-packs just reek of too much time in the gym, or, dare I say it, even steroids? I like a hero with a more natural (but still fit and muscly) look. But I don’t need to see his anonymous torso on the cover. Sometimes less is more. I like to picture the guy in my head from the writer’s excellent descriptions. I agree. The old cover for Undecided was better and more indicative of the book. A shirtless bod on the cover is NOT what’s going to make me buy a book (despite what surveys etc might say).
I started reading Up In The Treehouse. Reminiscent of The Sweet Gum Tree, The Mason List and another book I can’t remember the title to that is about male cousins? that grow up with a girl at a ?horse farm and she loves them both, but chooses one over the other. So far so good.
I finally finished Tell Me Your Answer True last night and started Here to Stay at 3am. It’s like emotional crack.
Yes! Definitely looking forward to The Angels Share!!! Thanks for the reminder Jan 🙂
I’m looking forward to your take on Hitched Maryse…
I’m finally going to get to read (and yes that means probably stay awake until I finish) Pennies. Today has been kind of a cluster…you know what. My husband accidentally used my Amazon book money (gift card) on something else he ordered, so now I’m left high and dry until I get another one. *grumble* So all the shinies I want, I can’t get unless someone takes pity on me and I can borrow it, he is so in the doghouse for this one.
Enough whining from me! Been kind of quiet around here, hope everyone is just too busy reading to post!
I’m at 70% of Bossman and it’s good if not a bit predictable. I like Vi Keeland’s H’s, she does good solid male characters. And I like that the two MCs are grown ups – no tantrums or miscommunication or silly behavior. It feels realistic (if shagging your Boss on his desk is realistic!!).
Grey… good to know about Eminent Love. That blurb didn’t tell me much and I wasn’t sure if it would interest me…
Now I can say YAY US!!! 😀
Unexpected Reality was a good read…had a little twist toward the end but not an extreme angst at all…beyond my initial confusion of my own feelings….
So I have never been one to have like crushes on rock stars, movie stars ….famous folks in general…aside from the book boyfriends…BUT…at this late time in my life…I have the most major crush, look wise..he is perfection to me….so yeah, I might just have to read the new book he is on…Stroked. *fanning self, sighing deeply…someone call the emt’s…I might just pass out from the cover!*
Jan and Amy….Im onboard with no more headless muscly torso covers. Its been done to death. I quite liked the original cover and think it suited the rom/com style of the book.
Is it crazy we’re getting sick of staring at semi clad guys on our book covers??
I wonder if guys ever say they’re sick of staring at boobs. ; )
Baahaahaa.
Lol Lisa
OK DG having babbled on about my boredom with muscled torsos on book covers, the guy on Stroked is pretty hot. I’ll grant you that. I guess a top swimmer is allowed to have a bod like that LOL. And at least you can see his (cute) face. Too often the book covers just seem like random, overly-pumped up models with little connection with the actual book.
Yeah, I can completely understand…strange to see faceless bodies….and I agree he should have a great ‘muscle structure’ since it is a ‘sports’ book. He is a recently retired athlete, does his own fitness program AND models….again, darn that Instagram! Definitely my crush…can he just be on ALL book covers going forward?!?!?
I’m going with The Vigilante Poets of Selwyn Academy. Love that title and the cover is cool.
Then probably on to The Winter Sea which will finish the random # tbr you ladies helped me with.
It’s late but hopefully these deals are still in effect in the morning…this is about three days’ worth of deals but there should be something for everyone! 😀

FLT
“Salvation called as dawn whispered along the unbroken horizon.”
Fight the Tide by Keira Andrews
This is an ARC set to release next Tuesday. It’s a sequel to Kick at the Darkness which I adored. There are quite a few Keira Andrew books I’ve loved.
“Just call me Ethan. ”
The Vigilante Poets of Selwyn Academy by Kate Hattemer.
Have a great Thursday, everyone.
FLT- “Freedom. Such a modest word.” Pennies by Pepper Winters
FLT
“On our wedding day, my fiancé, James, arrived at the church in a casket.” ~ Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale
FLT: It’s a strange thing to find a lost lover in your hands again.
Fish Tales #3!!! “Here to Stay.” Suanne Laqueur. Finally, woohoo!! And I’m whipping right through it, so unless I’m completely crazy, I may be on something totally new next week. But then there’s “The Ones That Got Away” so probably not.
FLT
“I clench my teeth and check my Rolex for the third time.”
Kendall Ryan, Hitched Volume 1
3 awesome first lines in a row – wtg!
I feel this urge to break the streak. Okay, actually, mine is just that boring.
FLT:
‘Sweat dotted my brow.’
Wicked by Jennifer Armentrout
I started to skim Wicked, and instead got sucked in. *grins*
‘Sarah knew today was a bad day for Abe.’ Rock Wedding, Nalini Singh.
Second chance, rock star romance. Final in the series. Sweet so far but nothing startling.
Amy, your FLT. WTAH?
This has been the oddest week. There is usually so many emails from here when I get home from work, and lately nothing.
Full moon week, bev… I think this one made us crash.
P.S. R. Renee just got her Echo and so did I… so we are in ECHO-crazy mode. 😉
And…
P.P.S. I think Amy is in her med-school mode…
Whoop whoop!! Just booked my tickets for KMM’s Feversong Launch party in New Orleans!! Plus other authors like Darynda Jones, Kresley Cole, and Gena Showalter will be there! Squee!!! I’ve never been to a book signing but hopefully this will be awesome!!
Not sure yet what I’m reading today…
Niki!!!!! SO MANY AWESOME authors!!! When is it?
I agree Bev. Very quiet here this week. Hopefully everyone is busy reading.
First Line Friday:
Same as Maryse….Hitched 1 Kendall Ryan.
Amy wins FLT. WTH!!
Lisa how are you liking it?
Niki that is so awesome!
Niki, I’d love to see New Orleans. I’m sure you’ll have a blast.
Let’s liven it up.
In a blog I read when they interview someone they ask them to make up their own ocean’s eleven group from fictional characters.
So, if you had some great caper planned or wanted to rob a casino or break Amy out of prison who’d be on your team?
Definitely Fiona Drazen. Sober, of course. She seems resourceful.
Sober? I had to Google her.
C.D. Reiss?
I have to think on it. Top two would be Hermione Granger & Sherlock (of course).
Yes. I loved her. She’s the kind of character you want to take you out in college and get you in all kinds of trouble. Then take the blame of course…
Oh, Hermione for sure. She knows everything.
Acheron. That way, we have someone who can fight anything.
Torin St. James from the Rune series by Ednah Walters because he can make runes to make a teleporter anywhere.
Mercy & Bran.
Finished Pennies… so now I have a new FLT…
“To be fair, it’s really not my fault this time.” Undecided by Julianna Keyes (I had this one in my TBR, old cover, lucky me LOL!) and decided, wth, I’m gonna roll with it.
Grey… how was Pennies?
Omg obsessed. “Alexa, play Lifehouse.” LOVE!!! “Alexa, play The Doors.” “Alexa, read RUSH.” Squee!!
Alexa, play Lana Del Rey
*shuffling*
OMG!!!! YAY ME!!!!
It’s like having a jukebox and not needing quarters!!!
Bev, I’ll play. Yeah, Mercy and Bran. I’d also like Sameth (from Lirael by Garth Nix) cos of his skill in making incredible arcane magical objects. Kind of like MacGyver only magical LOL. Oh, and the Disreputable Dog (from same book) cos he’s awesome. I know he’s a dog, but he’s made of magic ….. Best dog character ever 🙂
Since I have the 7-Up can one of y’all ask Alexa to get the Bicardi?
ruff ruff day
Yeah I asked her to bring me tequila and she flipped me off.
Omg Fabi my husband just said, “that girl’s OG.”
What’s OG?
Original gangster lol
I was wondering what OG was, too!! LOL!!!!!!
Yeah, okay wanna hear my story?
So we had Alexa play us Adele (then I wanted to try something else so I say Alexa, stop – and she does), then Barry Manilow (don’t ask- it was part of the learning season – and I ALEXA STOPPED quick on that one…) and then Lana Del Rey (but my sister found it a bit of a downer and wanted bad-ass music – so… Alexa, stop – and she does. End of Lana Del Rey).
My sister says let’s have her play Nicki Minaj.
So she does…
*shuffling*
And she starts a song that’s totally not appropriate at 10pm outside on my lanai with my neighbors that can hear… and so I say Alexa, stop (<--- THIS ALWAYS WORKS - at least so far) But Alexa does NOT stop. Nope. She continues to play. I say Alexa - volume 4 Nope... Alexa keeps playing bad-ass Nicki at fuller volume. I say Alexa, stop again... Nope. SO I said to my sister... I think Alexa is telling us "FU, Nikki is playing, sit down and shut it!" hahahahah!!! Nikki was playing and ALEXA was NOT going to interrupt. Tee hee!!! I had to touch a button on her for her to listen to me. Now we know... Alexa turns into a bratty teen when Nicki's on.
That didn’t help.since I don’t know what an original gangster is. Is he talking about Alexa?
He’s talking about you, but I don’t know what that is either lol. He’s cooler than me. I’d take it as a compliment though!
Come on, come sit with me. That table over there is only for the cool kids.
Wow what a first line Amy.
FLT:
“His face twists, resembling an old string of holiday lights most would have given up untangling years ago.” Up in the Treehouse by K.K. Allen. Just finished this. It started off great, stalled somewhat in the middle-I think I just got tired of the h’s lack of a backbone and found myself skimming it although it did get better by the end. Probably a 3.5* for me. Think I’m going to read Anything But Minor. Want something lighthearted.
Going away for a long weekend and the lake house doesn’t have wifi-so have a great weekend everyone!!!
I dont get how Alexa works and what its all about?? I am such a technophobe. (Its a bloody miricle I ever stumbled upon all of you).
Do ya need WiFi?
Does she stack the diswasher and close the frige door….cos apparently Im the only one in this house who CAN do these things.
I’m googling it…..I do know how to do that!!! 🙂
Lol I noticed that too. Alexa is a bitch. If she likes a song, good luck lol. Dishes? Hadn’t thought of that. Asking now…
Shes obviously closely related to Siri and Mr Autocorrect….those two mess with my life.
My sister has an Echo as well but I’m not sure if Alexa has been sassy to her;)
Bev, since I am in Fever Series happy mode I will obviously choose Mac and Barrons because they can kick some petunia!!!
Maryse, the book launch is January 13th-16th in New Orleans!!! I have never been there but am super excited!! Plus getting to meet Karen!!Squee!!!!
LOL Maryse. Alexa, bring me a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin……
It’s winter here, and raining 🙁
Same Jan….and really windy, hail etc. This winter has been brutal and feels endless.
Bring on spring!!
hahaha Maryse, that’s hilarious. Don’t mess with Alexa’s Nicki.
Hey ya’ll. I’ve been out at a conference, what have I missed? Any fabulous 5 star must reads? Probably not…. anyhoo…
Okay, Bev, I’ll play along. My Ocean’s 11 team has to have: Rhage (so he can go all Beast on us when we need him to), Rammel Hawking (so he can shmooze the ladies when we need that), Nix (because she is awesome), we will need a leader, so I’ll go with Bran on that one, and I think we need someone like Evan Arden and maybe Butch and “V” to get crap done that needs to be done. LOL. Since most of mine are PNR guys, I guess those must be the characters that stick with me.
Nothing for me yet, MichelleS. I’ve started and stopped so many in the last 2 weeks.
Just finished a book and couldn’t wait to tell you guys how much I enjoyed it!! It is a historical romance ‘Royal Seduction’ by Jennifer Blake. It is a fairly long book (over 550 pages) but I wasn’t bored not even a bit through out the whole book. Anyone who likes a historical romance, please try it
YAY!!! Thank you Young! I’m adding it to today’s list.
Bev, how many people do we each get to bring in? And is this based on sexual characteristics… Or true skill… #askingforafriend *whistles*
Pennies was good. 4.25 stars. A cliffy, which I knew going into it. Elder Prest… he seems bad, but he doesn’t seem as awful as some of our favorite baddies, not yet anyway?!?! IDK, I’m sure there are worse things to come from him in future books. It was a dark read, some twisted -ish going on, but not as spelled out as some of her other work. Definitely intrigued as to where she’s going with the series.
Okay good to know… thank you Grey!
Hitched isn’t keeping me all that enraptured… I dunno. It’s a similar story as most of the genre, and there’s nothing about the writing or dialogue that has me devouring it. *sigh*
PLUS! It’s both POV’s right from the start so there’s no mystery or angst, or wondering what the other is thinking.
Oooh. My team needs a shmooze type. Archeron fulfills the seer role too for me, but hmm. Any suggestions for a sweet talker?
Oh, it’s agood thing FLT wasn’t with Torn. That would have been spoilers. The first two paragraphs are reminders of how the last one ended.
Dark but not as much detail. I will read it! (Obviously. I did but it 😀 )
Erm, that was responding to Grey. Though detail is fun. I’m probably on a list already due to the Indebted series. Is it worse than that?
Maryse I have a couple of books for today’s list.
The Pepper Jones collection by Ali Dean is currently free on Amazon. I haven’t read it but it’s on the what to read after Paper Princess list. The collection is books 1-3 there are two more books not in the collection.
Sparrow by L.J. Shen is also free on Amazon. I haven’t read this yet either but I remember it being mentioned here.
Thank you Anna!!! I just one-clicked The Pepper Jones collection. YAY ME!! 😀
Tessa – Rammel Hawking is the ultimate sweet talker. Have you read the Knights of the Black Swan Series? Not a better sweet talker out there. Major charmer.
I started reading one from my TBR that I have been meaning to get to. It’s Kele Moon’s Battered Hearts. Maryse gave it 4.5 stars once upon a time. It’s not clicking with me yet. Keeping everything mysterious and then jumping right into bed? Hmmm….. not so sure about this….
Thank you Anna! I’ve read the first Pepper book, but not the others. Yeah!
I have the first book but haven’t read out yet. I’ll move it up in my TBR.
I wasn’t thrilled with Hitched either Maryse…
Tessa, Pennies is no where near Indebted level of dark…at least not for me… It was bad, don’t get me wrong, but… Not that graphically bad. Know what I mean?
You’re welcome. It’s rare I come across a bargain or a freebie that hasn’t already been mentioned. 🙂
Break Amy out of prison?? Hey! LOL!!
And I am cracking up over you guys playing with your new Echos.
“Alexa, get me a martini.” 😛
And my first line from yesterday…I know, guys. I know. 😕
Grey. I know exactly what you mean. The Indebted graphic… OMG. Second Debt is still the most horrific for me.
OMG Amy. I had so much fun!! And yes, I tried that. I don’t think it worked, but today I sure feel like it did…
Now I’m trying to get her to read a Word document. Apparently, not so much! Maryse mentioned she has great inflection so I thought that would be a much better proofreader than Natural Reader, but nope 🙁
Ermmmm. Hitched. Not really ticking boxes for me much either. Hrmmmm. Im onto book two, they’re basically novellas, super short. But oddly there seems to be droning boring detail. Plus the dual POV sucks in this book (works in some). IDK. Maybe I’m just getting worn out and cynical about this genre.
I wish book 3 was out now because I can guarantee I won’t remember this story by August and won’t end up finishing this trio.
I tried Anything But Minor cos I love a good sports romance, but by the time I got to 45%, meh, I’d had enough. The banter between the characters didn’t convince and I just didn’t care enough to keep going. Too much other better stuff out there to read instead. And…. another one bites the dust. My dnf pile grows ever larger :/ I got sucked in (again…) by the rave reviews. When will I ever learn?
Having said that, I know some of you will love ABM, and that’s your perfect right! We can’t all love the same books. This one just didn’t do it for me, but that’s not to say it won’t for you. And there’re waaaay too many negatives in that last sentence LOL. Does it even make sense?
OK. I’m stopping now.
I just finished Wolfsong and I couldn’t go without posting something about it. What a brilliant book! I loved Klune’s BOTK series but This surpassed even that. It’s been a long time since a book wrenched such emotion out of me. I was pretty much crying from page one. Not because it was sad but because it was so spectacularly beautifully written. Sigh……
Hugs Teri. I feel like we’re becoming a bit of a cult following. Those who’ve read Wolfsong…and those who’ve yet to join.
