I LOVE those), We Could Be Beautiful (she falls for a guy (bad guy??) that her mom – with Alzheimers – hates… old family secrets?), Clutch (just so I can imagine THAT guy on the cover as the biker hero… so easy!! 😛 Also because I LOVE books with a heroine on the run and in hiding and starting over), Bad Teacher (Ooops! I think he made a mistake with someone he didn’t realize would be his student!! *gasp*!!), and His (she’s in hiding with her little sister, and homeless… and he gives her an offer she can’t refuse – YIKES!). I’m reading Sherrilyn Kenyon and I have to read Christine Feehan’s new one. I don’t know if it’s because they were the first PNR authors I read (outside of Twilight) or if they are really THAT good. But whenever Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward or Christine Feehan publish a new PNR, I HAVE to have it.

Exactly Bev! There are so many irl memories that make HP even better. Best was giving it to my mom and her devouring it. She never read fantasy at all, but she loved that series. Also, my niece and I reading Five when it came out and literally laying in bed opposite of each other, throwing candy at each other. We made a rule if one of us gasped, (me) the person had to just say what chapter. lol No spoilers that way.

I’m having hip replacement next week. I was born with hip dysplasia and sadly both hips are whacked! Already had my right done but it was hip resurfacing, which now I find out is not such a good procedure especially for young females…so that will eventually need re-doing and be a replacement as well. So yeah, I didn’t share cause I don’t think it’s a big deal FOR ME. I just hated all the damn pre-op tests and Dr. visits. Never had to go through so much stuff before a surgery. I already had 2 procedures this year, what with slipping on Jan 1 and breaking my ankle..*sighs*
LOL I’ve been up since 6:30 and it’s 8:46 here in Windy Chicago (well Des Plaines – neighboring suburb) so I’m all good!

Sorry guys – I have to say I have read all the Carnage books – I will admit I was not a ‘happy bunny’ after the first (especially when I finished the book on the train home and was sniveling!) but the author does redeem themselves in book 2 – well worth a read – I promise!

Ela, that is big news!! Everyone I’ve talked to after hip replacement always comments that they didn’t realize how bad the hip was until getting it replaced and how great they feel now. My cousin was born with hip dysplasia too. I have memories of her as a toddler in full cast from hip down. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!

I’ve read some books by KL Grayson but didn’t know who BT Urruela was. Turns out he is a male author who served in the Army and now writes military romance. He obvioisly had a lot to contribute to this book because it all FELT SO REAL!!!!!!!!! PLEASE GUYS, YOU GOTTA READ IT!

GUYS!! I’m half way through the Kraken King by Melijean Brook and it is SOOO GOOD!! I was a little wary first since I’ve never read a steampunk romance before, but the book sucked me in no time!! The world building and slow burn romance between MC is wonderful. The Iron Duke is the first of the Iron Seas series, and as soon as I finish TKK, I need to read TID.

Alright, on a serious note, how are you all able to think in the morning? (You turned into thou again. Damn Shakespeare ghost!) I was up all night reading. I already know it’s the best book this month. This morning I’m still in a book fog. It was hawt, intense, and the angst was high. However, the last 20%ish, *eyes wide* it made my heart hurt so badly. Then, that end blew me away. Warning… It ends with the end… for now. It’s fighting with Marked in Flesh for best of the year. Ack, my heart!

Fabi, Carry On is by Rainbow Rowell and in no way related to Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda.
Rowell wrote a book, Fangirl, and the MC Cath wrote fan fiction. Her fan fiction was based on a book a very popular one, like Harry Potter popular. The MC of that book is Simon & the villain is Baz. Her fan fiction becomes super popular too.
Anyway, then Rowell wrote that story which is Carry On. Yet, Carry On is its own world so can be read totally as a stand a lone. It is wonderful.

The Kraken King was released as a serial but now you can buy it as one book.
It is part of a series, and I have earlier books in tbr unread, buy I started with this one.
So, read and enjoyed it as a stand alone. However I think for the full effect of the world building then read in order. I really do want to read The Iron Duke. People buzzed all about it couple years ago and I just had to have it. And then not read it, lol.

I’ve read the books and feel like I’ve been waiting decades for those Starks to meet up. Any of them. Made me want to happy clap seeing them, but yeah the ship aspect….I was like WTF? ??

R…I’m coming along pretty well with Full Tilt. Emotional, yes. But I’m tellin’ you, prologues like that are keeping me from getting the full impact of the stories lately. 🙁 It used to not be an issue for me but now… *sigh* Books are my crack and I’ve built up a tolerance. It sucks.
And I’m not mentioning my sweet bird anymore!! Jean turns her into something dirty (and she is NOT a dirty bird so don’t go there!), and then Ela accuses me of making out with her. Y’all are awful. 😛
Just… no. That isn’t a shipping moment, that was thinking that most of their family is dead, and hey, I have one family member left! Sansa is a strong character (FINALLY!) but no. It wouldn’t secure them at all. There are far better ways to go politically. Just… Nope.

Ah Amy that’s a bummer. I’ve been reading that lately about prologues, but mostly from the side of publishers. Is it that they give away too much? I’ve seen some I think work and some I wonder why they don’t just call it chapter one!! I can’t comment on this one because it is different than the one I read and I’m not sure yet what else has changed if anything.
I still have yet to watch GoT… I will eventually but I thought to read the books first.

Heh, Sansa isn’t married anymore. Ramsey is dog meat. Literally. It was freaking GREAT!!!! And Jon Snow apparently isn’t a Stark but a Targaryen!! And Cersei gets her revenge (even I felt sorry for her by the end of last season) but that revenge is at a VERY high and unexpected price. And…alright, I have to stop there.

And with Jon made me wonder about the dragons, cause in the books in the last time there were dragons it was, I believe, 3 Targaryen siblings who had them, and D has three.
It is funny no one is safe and do many not likable and yet so many I want to be OK in the end.
One gripe with the show is that some things happen to certain female characters that didn’t in the book.

R…that is pretty much the problem I have with the prologues lately, that they give too much away or ruin a part of the plot which I would rather be hinted at and then eventually revealed entirely. Like with Edge of Never, which FT has kinda similar feels to…things were going along just fine and then WHAM!!! Knocked me on my a$$ with that reveal.
One exception…Cruel and Beautiful. After the prologue and by a couple of pages into the first chapter, I just KNEW what was happening. I know the author(s) wanted it to be a crazy, mind-blowing twist, but if I had not figured it out ahead of time I would have been HELLA P!SSED over the twist. I love a good twist but this one wouldn’t have worked for me. By knowing ahead of time, I was able to let the book slowly break my heart…and it DID break it. Hell, it still hurts when I think about it. 🙁

It’s weird. I totally cheer her on every time she has overcome, defied odds and expectations, and yet ….I don’t feel like I like her as much as everyone else does. I’m also not sure she won’t go mad with power.

Okay Bev (actually, anyone…everyone), let’s talk about dreams since you brought it up. Have you ever had a weird sex-related dream, could be as simple as passionate kissing or as complex as going all the way, about someone, whether you know them well or not and could be male or female, from work or school or a social situation or whatever, and then the next time you see them it is awkward as hell and you have trouble being around them, even though you KNOW they have no idea you had that dream, and they have no idea how much you are squirming internally?

One time I did (dream) about Ryan Seacrest, and while I didn’t bump into him the next day, I seriously considered therapy.

Ela! I’m just now recovering from 3 surgeries in the last year. Not my hip replaced, but I had masses removed from the same hip twice along with a hysterectomy. (3 different surgeries) I send you lots of well wishes and quick recovery vibes along with my prayers. Get fixed up and get better soon! Maybe stay away from miserable books while you are recovering! LOL!
Missed all you crazies! Off to the gym to plod forward on my new “regaining my health” lifestyle. Kindle app on my iPhone means I can read while on the treadmill! It’s how I finish each session because it’s my reward for the rest of the workout. Stick a book in my face and 30 minutes goes by on the treadmill and I don’t even realize it!

I’ve been reading it for what? 3-4 days? I’m at 30%. THAT’S the kind of novel I like. I love getting lost in another world. I know I’ll be sad when it’s over. These are the stories I remember long term. For me, shorter books come and go so quickly that I barely remember them a week later.

Sitting here watching my iRobot Roomba clean my dust-bunny bedroom floor. (Got it for hubby for Father’s Day- boy was he surprised)!! It’s the height of laziness to sit here reading and having a robot clean my floor, BUT it just went under the bed- good god it will probably get clogged up and die under there with all the dust-bunnies!!! Actually hubby and my son are intrigued by it because of it being a robot, you can write code and change what it does. It speaks to the geek in them. 😉

Same book as last Thurs, but the prologue changed so FLT: “White light pierced my eyes.” Full Tilt. It looks like aside from that change, not much else did, so I’m simultaneously read the second Fish Tales book: “The day dawned bored and looking for trouble, and Daisy woke up needing to get high.”

Oh wow, I was going to read Sweet Alibi and was re-reading the blurb when I saw the part that it was formerly released as the duet The Morning After and Light in the Morning…both of which I have already read, dangit! Apparently they were good because I four-starred both of them, but I remember absolutely nothing about the story. 😕 At least it’s not too late to return the ebook…

R…you can on Amazon, as long as it is within 7 days (I believe). If you go to where it lists your ebook purchases and click the drop down tab beside each book, there is an option at the bottom of the list where it says Return for Refund. Like I said though, there is a time limit for when you can.

Okay, I apparently did read book four. In my defense, it’s hard to keep track. Four is called Runes book three, which makes almost no sense. Number two was book one of the grimners, and Souls is book two grimners, but they are still part of the Rune series. *gets all confused*
