  • All Things Pretty (The Pretty Series Book 3) by M. Leighton <— P.S. This one just went LIVE!! HE’S A COP & SHE’S A CRIMINAL’S GIRLFRIEND with a BIG secret… It sounds SO GOOD! I want to read this now. Totally one-clicking ’cause it CAN be read as a standalone! P.S. it’s super-bargain priced (as are ALL of the books in the series, today)
  • It Ain’t Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen Book 1) by Tillie Cole <— BIKERS!! Lauren says: “My all time fav bikers! If you haven’t read this series….READ IT NOW!!!!”

  • Playing for Kinley (Cruz Brothers Book 1) by Melanie Munton <— FAMOUS BASEBALL STAR JUST WENT LIVE ALERT! Plus he’s in love with his best friend’s sister… “She had loved him forever and the one summer they had together was magic…before he took off for Boston and acted like she’d never meant anything to him.”

Who still has some awesome book credits burning a whole in your book-pocket? Well LOOK at this crazy LONG list (over 100 goodies here – but no worries, I highlighted a bunch to help us focus). Maybe we’ll find the perfect next read. In fact, it’s loaded in our favorite authors (and genres) and some new-to-mes on here, so let’s play!

My “blurb-jolt” list? Oh EASY! He Will Be My Ruin (Psych-thriller in the bargains section that I’ve been wanting to read!!), Pathfinder’s Way (suggested as a “what to read after Golden Dynasty” read and many are loving it – also in the bargain section), The Devil In Disguise (the devil… YES the Devil with a capital D, ends up having to be a hero… LOL!), Full Tilt (well… I already read it and 5-star LOVED it, but I want to make sure you check this one out!!), Stryker (an author researching MMA for her next book… and the BIG HUGE bad-ass fighter that can’t stop staring at her!!), Think Again (marital strife and temptation), First Comes Love (two sisters in their 30′s and it sounds like some serious single & marital life turmoil ahead!! I LOVE those), We Could Be Beautiful (she falls for a guy (bad guy??) that her mom – with Alzheimers – hates… old family secrets?), Clutch (just so I can imagine THAT guy on the cover as the biker hero… so easy!! :P Also because I LOVE books with a heroine on the run and in hiding and starting over), Bad Teacher (Ooops! I think he made a mistake with someone he didn’t realize would be his student!! *gasp*!!), and His (she’s in hiding with her little sister, and homeless… and he gives her an offer she can’t refuse – YIKES!). Oh!! And Deep Shadows (Solar flare wipes out technology – *gasp*)

Also don’t forget to check out yesterday’s earlybird list (Monday Early Bird Book Releases) in case you missed it. BIG awesomeness on that one, too (like the baker that volunteers in a prison… eeep!)

P.S. ➔ Follow me (and Pimmie AND Hobbit – my sweet puppies – yep, I have a new addition!) on Instagram? That would be SO cool!!! :D

P.P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere). P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything!)

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

I’m reading Sherrilyn Kenyon and I have to read Christine Feehan’s new one. I don’t know if it’s because they were the first PNR authors I read (outside of Twilight) or if they are really THAT good. But whenever Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward or Christine Feehan publish a new PNR, I HAVE to have it.

Maryse June 28, 2016 at 1:07 PM

R. Renee YOU GET IT!! Say you get it. Sayyyyyyy it.

Wait… did somebody just give me a mimosa martini? *snort*

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 1:11 PM

Yeah ok lol!!

Yumm! It’s good, right?!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 1:13 PM

Man, all of the Satan’s Fury MC book covers are gorgeous. Although Clutch still takes the 1st place ribbon.

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 1:24 PM

Fabi, I totally get it. Some authors are insta but. Kenyon for me too. Feehan used to be but I stopped reading hers. I should get back because I absolutely adored her stories. Though, today it’s Hutchins and the new Charlie Davidson. *squee*

Hey, if Leslie pips on over here, another rec. Consequence of Loving Colton. That had me swooning and giggling like crazy.

And last, Playing with Monsters is Lucien’s story.

Grey June 28, 2016 at 1:27 PM

*hands over my mimosa martini* *cries a little* *stomps a little more* I cannot wait until I can drink with the rest of the crew again… *pout*

Alright… the list.

Playing with Monsters, I admit it, I smiled with the warning. You got me Ms. Hutchins… I like your brand of a$$holes… but at $5… I may have to wait on this one…

The Devil in Disguise… another interesting PNR blurb… I haven’t read a good PNR in a while… but again, $4, I am so cheap… gah!

Deep Shadows, love the premise, love the cover…but $8.51, uh no, unfortunately there’s way too much pretty on the list this week.

Up in Flames, I’ve debated about this series a bunch of times… I have a couple of them on my kindle already *sheepish grin*

Full Tilt… 5 stars Maryse??? hmmmm I like the sounds of that, I have been in a rut.

The Bourbon Thief… OBVIOUSLY this one wins haha! but I have to go through the whole list LOL!

Addicted, an Elle Kennedy post apocalyptic book… but it’s book 2, how did I miss book 1?? Having Hope by Tabatha Vargo, I like this author a lot… and the magic words rock stars are thrown in there too… hmm. Bad Teacher… *giggle* oopsie… I bet she gets an ‘A’ in extracurricular activities… ROAR by Kallypso Masters, Hawk, Clutch, His, Slow Grind, Think Again. Dammit, I’m not getting ANYTHING done this week!

Tina Lewis June 28, 2016 at 1:30 PM

I have two new pups in my house. Super fun but super busy! Thanks for the great book list.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 1:39 PM

oooohhhhh, Addicted is the sequel to Claimed. I 5-steamy-starred Claimed. *trudges back to Amazon for the millionth time today*

Theresa June 28, 2016 at 1:41 PM

Marsye!!!! Karina Halle and Jeanniene Frost have been pushed back for release

Maryse June 28, 2016 at 2:09 PM

Thank you Theresa!!! :D I’ll fix.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 2:15 PM

Oh wow…oh WOW. I’m going to need at least an hour to go through that list up there. But I know for sure I’m starting Full Tilt tonight so YAY ME! :D

I forgot I pre-ordered First Comes Love but I love when that happens and the book just pops up in my library. Speaking of Emily Giffin books, a few of hers are on sale right now for 2.99: Baby Proof, Love the One You’re With, and Where We Belong. Her books normally run between 7.99 and up (13.99 for FCL!) so those are pretty good deals.

And When I’m Gone by Emily Bleeker is 1.99…that blurb, oh my heart.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 2:17 PM

(by the way…”and” isn’t in the title for When I’m Gone ;) )

*grabs R’s fourth mimosa martini*

Robyn June 28, 2016 at 2:39 PM

Looks like my book rut has come,to an end this week!

Let’s review my haul:
The Bourbon Thief- heck to the Yes!
Addicted- been waiting foreva for this
Full Tilt- because I trust you Maryse and your 5 stars!
Shadow Rider- yep, it’s over my usual budget, but paranormal soulmates always lure me in!
Brutal Discoveries- the prison scenario with the alpha guard caught my attention
What Alice Forgot- Maryse’s review looked too good to pass up!
The Road to Garrett- single mom moving to a ranch in middle of nowhere, needs a little rescuing from a stranger. Cowboys!
Pathfinders Way- PNR….right up my alley!
Pieces- another PNR

Ok, I’m gonna be real busy for awhile. I’m putting rereading the Kathleen Turner series on hold and tackling my list!

I’m also waiting for book 2 in Black Keys(Colorblind Trilogy) by Rose B. Mashal to drop. It should be coming out anyday! It’s an arranged marriage to a foreigner! The first book gave me the “feels”!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 3:42 PM

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 3:51 PM

Amy…are you subbing Jager for vodka in Ela’s drinks?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 4:32 PM

*Gasps* Amy wouldn’t…wait!!!!!!!!!! OF COURSE SHE WOULD!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 4:36 PM

*hides Jager bottle under sofa*

Nope, she’s just riding the euphoric high from the other page and her 6 or 8 titillating…drinks. :P

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 4:49 PM

So Amy, what you’re saying is if we switch pages, it’s like starting over at zero drinks? Right on!! Five please! Wait. I don’t know which page I’m on!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 5:06 PM

You’re on the first page. Just like I am. Shhhhh…just trust me. Trust Amy.

*uses foot to push empty martini glasses under the sofa*

Ela June 28, 2016 at 5:08 PM

I want a PASSIONfruit induced beverage with pineapple!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 5:08 PM

In zombie-like state! *I. TRUST. AMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.*

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 5:14 PM

I trust you too. All three of you.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 5:23 PM

All three of me? Oh man…who are my alter egos?

bev June 28, 2016 at 5:42 PM

We were just talking about book covers the other day. There’s two beautiful ones right there. Clutch and Hawk. Oh yeahhhhhh…..

*fans self*

Maryse June 28, 2016 at 7:22 PM

*starts plucking rose thorns out of Ela’s feet*

She’s gonna be MAD tomorrow. LOL!!!! :P

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 7:30 PM

I think we lost her Maryse. She must have passed out.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 7:46 PM

Not as mad as the owner of these rose bushes.

*holds up trampled roses*

DG June 28, 2016 at 7:50 PM

Flipping channels and what do I see….SHERLOCK HOLMES!!!! *whispers to others: but don’t tell Bev…I don’t think it is HER Sherlock*

Amy June 28, 2016 at 7:52 PM

Bev, that wasn’t a frowny face earlier…it was my “oh crap, I still haven’t watched Sherlock” face. :P

Okay, sorry in advance but I’m going to whine a bit…will someone PLEASE tell my stupid brain to stop thinking so much when I start a book?!? First page of the prologue of Full Tilt and ALREADY I’m thinking I know what’s going to happen. Seriously, my mind has a freaking mind of it’s own, and it’s pissin’ me off. *sigh* Have I just read so many books that this is unavoidable?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 7:53 PM

Wait! What? He led up…*gasps* how did I end up in thorns???

Was trying to read Full Tilt and found out THAT WHAT HAPPENS….not sure if I’m up for it NOW?!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 7:54 PM

I meant HOLD UP…..

DG June 28, 2016 at 7:54 PM

No Amy…just like my mind keeps getting bored a few pages in…

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 7:54 PM

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 7:55 PM

Neither of you read the blurb, did you?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 7:57 PM

But but but I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS *sobbing*

Ela June 28, 2016 at 7:58 PM

Of course I read the blurb…and a spoiler or two….*shrugs* and where did those damn thorns come from? Amy???

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 7:59 PM

YES I MOST CERTAINLY AM. is it working?

DG June 28, 2016 at 7:59 PM

What in the heck am I watching?!?!? Pretty brutal….not sure this isn’t mistitled…should be Jack the Ripper!!!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:00 PM

ROTFLMAO still in thorns….nope, not really? But you should continue, I find if I do it enough times it sticks…

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:03 PM

how about this?

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:03 PM

Idk, DG. What are you watching?

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:05 PM

Ela, you were in the bushes with Guns and Roses.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:07 PM

BOOM. R’s ovaries just dropped. :P

I read the blurb, and in conjunction with the prologue I am thinking I know where this is going. But…but…I’m hoping I’m wrong so that I’m surprised by the plot (not ’cause I’m scared of an ugly cry).

I’m just…irritated with myself right now. I don’t even want to be around me.

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:08 PM

R. I almost clicked on that freaking book! :( :( :(

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:08 PM

Bev! *snort* I guess I was wasn’t I? But wasn’t it JUNGLE? There can’t be rose bushes in jungles, right?

THATS A GREAT START R! KEEP AT IT! Oh and now I want ice cream and not mimo-tinis or some great barbecue *drool*

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:09 PM

Then be Andy.

You know if you’re bored and your brain needs a puzzle. ….

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:10 PM

Bev! Don’t do it! ITS NOT FOR YOU…I think???

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:17 PM

No… not Bev. I think we messaged about this one. It’s not for you.

Amy, it’s not one of those books with plot twists. You should know where it’s headed early on. It’s the getting there that makes it brilliant.

Ela…I’m BBQ’ing at the retreat! And banana splits with homemade ice cream!

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 8:19 PM

Bev, they all said UGLY CRY. I figured it’s a pass for you based on that alone.

Oh and Playing with Monsters, OMG, he’s an a** Gah!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:19 PM

I need to just stop reading prologues.

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:20 PM

Bev…looks to be a 2011 movie version of Sherlock Holmes…with Robert Downey Jr…only halfway paying attention as I am trying to get into a book…haven’t found the one ….yet.

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:22 PM

R. Messaged???

Teesa, yes but I’ve cried in books before, like Harry Potter books or Jellicoe Road. Doesn’t always mean certain things, you know?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:22 PM

*drools all over R*

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:23 PM

Fun movie, but no, not that Sherlock.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:24 PM

Eeew Ela. Now I’m all sticky.

Bev, on GR? We were talking about Emma Scott books.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:24 PM

And speaking of…why doesn’t Amy have a GR? Or does she and she’s hiding it from me?

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:25 PM

Amy does I dont, lol.
Wasn’t me. :)

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:26 PM

A-ha…does Andy count as one of the three of me R mentioned earlier?

I’m going to stick with FT and see how I do. Let me just get my head in the right place and I should be fine.

*snicker* She DOES write good a$$hats, doesn’t she Tessa?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:26 PM

Sorry R! Your food led me that way….

I think Amy does but is hardly there…

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:26 PM

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. There are 2 Bevs?? OMG all this time. I bet I must make absolutely no sense to you.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:28 PM

OMG now I’m wondering if I talked to the other Bev about Sherlock. LMAO. oops…

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:28 PM

Bev? If that’s not YOU then who was I talking smut with!???

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:28 PM

Good girl Amy!! *pets Amy’s head*

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:28 PM

Lol. Not that I’ve noticed. Possible it’s more confusing for her.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:29 PM

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:30 PM

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:30 PM

R…so, are you saying you’re going to pick up your ball (mimo-tini) and go home if we don’t read it? :P

And I have a GR, I just haven’t checked it in a while. *cringe* I have to look and see what my GR name is though…

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:30 PM

It’s because we’re always virtually drunk on here isn’t it?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:31 PM

I’m going to listen as well and continue with my BR along with my friend Amber, who is on GR.

Omg bev!!! I chastised your other self on GR for recommending The Others but not reading it herself!

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:31 PM

Yes Amy!! Come play with us and the fake Bev!! It’s fun!

And no…I won’t go home :-/

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:31 PM

WAIT, wait one minute here….TWO BEVs!?!?!? And “our” Bev is not on GR?!?!?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:32 PM

I am laughing so hard right now I can’t breathe

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:32 PM

Unless our Bev is drinking too much of the Kool-Aid herself…

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:33 PM

That poor lady.
Are you all friends with her? Is she the one that is friends with Fabi?
Nope, no GR account.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:33 PM

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:33 PM

OMG!!! You’ve been talking smut with someone you don’t even know on GR?!?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:34 PM

apparently we all have! I’m going to re-read my DM’s now!!

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:34 PM

What kind of smut do I like?

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:35 PM

Ela…we are friends on GR, right? *asking hesitantly*. Or do I have another set of fake friends with the same names?!?!?

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:35 PM

I’m think Amy, Fabi, Tessa, Jean, The Michelles know I’m not on there. I think.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:35 PM

*laughs and wheezes*

You chastised “Bev” on GR over The Others???

*falls over cackling and choking*

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:35 PM

No not really…it just sounded scandalous *snickers* , don’t all GR strangers love smut?

This is Amy, I believe..

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:36 PM

Where the heck is Fabi? Somehow I think this is all her fault!!

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:37 PM

are you SURE Ela? LIKE TOTALLY SURE? We don’t need a fake Amy too! LMAO!!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:38 PM

Yep, that’s me! :D

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:38 PM

Just sent a FR

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:38 PM

I am chackling! This is TOO funny!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:39 PM

OMG I so did Amy! She even said I shouldn’t tell Fabi! I was sure it was our bev (lower case b)

I’m pretty sure it’s me DG! Just check I’d that Ela read Opal Carew.

Bev you want to read all of Opal Carew’s books, it’s your ‘to go’ smut author!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:39 PM

Me???!!! If you’re talking about the Bev I’m friends with on GR,shes in the UK. Definitely not this Bev.

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:40 PM

Huh, good to know.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:41 PM

We’ve been hoodwinked!

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:42 PM

Well, I’m GR friends with the U.K. Bev also…no worries…just funny as hell!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:42 PM

OMG!!!! I am DYING here!!!

“She even said I shouldn’t tell Fabi” <—— I have tears 'cause I am laughing so hard!!!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:42 PM

OMG! That’s why I was always like why isn’t bev sleeping?? It’s 7 or 6 hours difference! Lmao

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:43 PM

Sounds like a case for….wait for it…Sherlock Holmes!!!!!

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:43 PM

If I remember correctly, I think when I friend requested her I said something like “it’s R. Renee from the blog.” She was probably like “well good for you!”

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:44 PM

Wait Amy….what shouldn’t you tell Fabi????

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:44 PM

“Why isn’t bev sleeping?” LOL!!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:44 PM

*tries to stop cackling*

I’ll check my GR for your friend request, R.

*snorrrrrrrrt!* I gave up trying not to laugh… *wipes tears*

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:44 PM

Did ya’ll friend her through my account. i’m dying laughing. I actually made the same mistake the first time I talked to her but realized quickly it was two different people. It doesn’t help that she reads the same books we do. Hahaha

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:44 PM

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:45 PM

But wasn’t there a Bev on here with capital b?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:45 PM

Yes Fabi I did!!!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:45 PM

Who shouldn’t tell Fabi what? You have to tell me now.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:46 PM

uh oh!! Fake Bev is starting sh!&

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:47 PM

No DG, that’s what the GR Bev told me when I chastised her about not reading The Others! Oh well! She really needs to read them

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:47 PM

DG…the Bev on GR told Ela she shouldn’t tell Fabi something. That’s why I’m laughing so hard!!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:47 PM

That’s what y’all get for raping my friends list. Bahahabahaha. Now I’ll admit I originally friended her thinking it was our Bev. But then she turned out to be so much fun with similar tastes in books. I know I’ve read several of her recs.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:48 PM

Oh good lord…we posted at the same time, Ela!

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:48 PM

Fabi, scroll up. It’s something she told Ela when Ela got on her for not reading the others. LMAO

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:48 PM

Yeah, I’m confused as to what not to tell Fabi…

And the U.K. Bev has insomnia…so the time thing…could be explained way…

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:49 PM

“Fake Bev is starting sh!&”

You guys are killing me!!!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:50 PM

You’re gonna make me pee my pants !!!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:50 PM

GR Bev said not to tell Fabi she didn’t read The Others and I was like huh? Wtf? Here’s Bev recommending this series but hasn’t read it herself??

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:51 PM

I’m laughing and crying at Fabi’s not knowing what she’s not supposed to know. :P

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:51 PM

So this whole time Ela thought I hadn’t read WiR just had an unnatural fascination with it. My shameful secret.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:51 PM

Ladies! I can’t take y’all anywhere!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:51 PM

damn jungle thorns

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:52 PM

*snickers and slides a Poise pad over to Fabi*

DG June 28, 2016 at 8:52 PM

Ela! Hilarious! Bev recommending this series but hasn’t read it herself!!!!!!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:53 PM

That’s what I said Bev! I was like what in the heck?

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:53 PM

She must think Fabi has the nicest friends.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:53 PM

Oh God bev…*runs to the bathroom*

bahahabahaha hahaha

*tears streaming down face*

I don’t think UK Bev is a huge PNR fan.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:53 PM

Amy? Why do you have Poise pads???

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:55 PM

If she unfriendly all of us we’ll know why. We should tell her to come over and see the monotony confusion around here.

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:55 PM

Odd but nice.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 8:55 PM

Or Fabi has the most whacked who the hell are they friends and why are they jumping no all over my ass for not reading stuff ‘I secretly love and recommend to everyone ‘

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:56 PM

grrrrrrr autocorrect – don’t mess with me tonight

mimotini !!!!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:57 PM

Oh Ela haaaaaaaa

bev June 28, 2016 at 8:57 PM

Fabi, how many Friends do you have in common?

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 8:58 PM

And that was unfriend NOT unfriendly. She is super nice – and funny. Love her attitude.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 8:59 PM

OMG. Dying!!! Fake Bev’s like “Man! That Fabi is one cool chick! Her friends really dig me!”

Amy June 28, 2016 at 8:59 PM

Ela…for Fabi’s pee-pee pants problem. NOT because I need them myself. *snort* Riiiiiiiight… *crosses legs tightly*

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:00 PM

We’re gonna see fake Bev in the hall at school tomorrow and be like… “so…how’s it goin’?”

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:02 PM

OMG!!! “the most whacked who the hell are they friends” LOL!!!!!!! That whole comment! And then R…”Her friends really dig me!” Gah, my side hurts from laughing!!!

Can you guys just imagine Maryse’s face when she pops in again and sees the number of comments?!? *snorrrrrrrrrrrt!*

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:04 PM

…and fake Bev in the hall will be all, “WTF??”

Where’s the freaking laughing/crying emoticon like on texts????

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:05 PM

Amy, hurry go get another Poise.

Between the pee and the tears and now the snot, this has turned into a messy evening.

You guys MADE MY NIGHT. I can’t remember laughing this hard.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:07 PM

Fabi, right?!? Freaking hilarious!!!!

*runs and grabs Poise and Kleenex*

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:09 PM

OMG, UK Bev is probably having as much fun with you guys as I am. We gotta tell her to come see this crazy convo.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:09 PM

OMG I think we’ll scare her!

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:10 PM

….why isn’t Bev sleeping?…. omg I can’t get over you guys

bev, (our Bev) are you shaking your head at all us airheads?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:11 PM

I was the one arguing with her!! Yes, bev! We talked, remember??? LOL

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:12 PM

So R. Maybe Full Tilt is for her.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:13 PM

We need to ease her with kiddy gloves into the crazy or as I’d like to say ‘refined tastes and manners’ group

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:13 PM

I can already see this poor woman, looking at the blog, and realizing her name will have to be “fake Bev” just so we know who’s who.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:13 PM

Oh no. That was the whole discussion. She doesn’t like sad and I may have saved her from Carnage.

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:14 PM

Tessa, are you friends with her?

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:14 PM

GOOD! That book makes me want to caps big time. I deal with hating the characters, finally getting into it, then bam. Grrr…. No wait. GRRRRR

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:15 PM

Nope. I asked you if you were her. It stopped me from adding her.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:15 PM

Don’t remind me OF THAT BOOK R! Just thinking about it makes me wanna lower my rating…

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:16 PM

Oh and MichelleS is on GR but not Michelle.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:16 PM

My rating can’t get any lower.

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:16 PM

*hugs Ela* Thank you for understanding my pain.

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:17 PM

Yes, I thought it came up when you all were adding each other.
That has been awhile though.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:17 PM

Now hand over the ice cream R….no threats! Just nice and slow, no tricks!

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:17 PM

OOoh, just realized, Bev! HP made me cry too. A lot! Like, Ugly cry big time. I loved that series soooo much.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:18 PM

I’m not making it! I’m making the BBQ. Want a rib?

Fabi’s getting some. Maybe she’ll bring you a doggie bag!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:18 PM

Yep TESSA! I’m still at 2 stars but it really should be ranked with Tabula Rasa!

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:19 PM

2 stars? Ela? You’re more vocal about it than me and I gave it 1. Out of generosity.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:19 PM

*takes rib, eyeing the ice cream*

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:20 PM

I know a girl. I’ll see what I can do…

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:20 PM

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:20 PM

Those books, Tessa. Broke my heart a couple times. But so good.
I’m not sure I will ever repeat that reading experience. Not only because of the books but I shared that experience with special people in my life.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:24 PM

What books bev?

Changed my Carnage rating.

Should I start recommending Opal to fake Bev?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:25 PM

Yes definitely!!

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:27 PM

*starts twitching*

Tessa said ugly cry! What series?? What’s HP???

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:28 PM

Is Opal a crying book? and guys, how about UK Bev until she chooses one of her own?

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:28 PM

Exactly Bev! There are so many irl memories that make HP even better. Best was giving it to my mom and her devouring it. She never read fantasy at all, but she loved that series. Also, my niece and I reading Five when it came out and literally laying in bed opposite of each other, throwing candy at each other. We made a rule if one of us gasped, (me) the person had to just say what chapter. lol No spoilers that way.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:29 PM

But “Fake Bev” is hilarious and we’ll all know who she is!! :P

I can see how that might turn her off from this place though if we tell her to name herself Fake Bev. *giggle*

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:30 PM

Well, one is Bev and the other bev. :D That’d work.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:31 PM

………Glass Walls………

………No soundproofing………

*snatches Jager away*

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:31 PM

Opal Carew is one fine smut writer! Just recommended her book Six to most….I READ IT FOR THE HAWT SMUT

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:32 PM

but, but, Tessa…I’m Fabi and I’m Fabi …

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:32 PM

She has many more panty drenching fine pieces of literature

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:33 PM

I am going to DISABLE autocorrect!

Fabi and fabi

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:33 PM

Harry Potter series.

Exactly Tessa. With my mom and a friend. I got my mom hooked on them too. Then we had to see each movie in the theater.
My friend & I would direct them over the phone as we read them. All this as adults.

Cheryl June 28, 2016 at 9:33 PM

Hi everybody!! Whew, this is the longest I’ve gone without reading Maryse’s blog and staying up on everyone’s comments. My son graduated and I had a HOUSE-FULL of relatives for a week- it was crazy, exhausting, fun!! Now, I need to catch up on what everyone’s been reading and commenting. Gonna take me a while. ;)

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:34 PM

“panty drenching fine pieces of literature”

OMG I am SO quoting that

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:34 PM

AMY STAY AWAY FROM CARNAGE, THE STORY OF US…although you may like the mess it is…

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:35 PM

Direct is dissect.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:35 PM

*waves at Cheryl* Hiiiiiii

Sounds like you’ll have lots of great memories of the occasion. :-)

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:36 PM

Woot, Congratulations to your son. I am playing with Monsters and Fabi is two people.

Bev, my niece and I were adults as well. She’s only six years younger than me. :D Still reading a kid book and eating candy, though.

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:37 PM

bev, your autocorrect and my autocorrect are in cahoot

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:37 PM

Fabi! I speak the truth! I also loved her book Illicit and Insatiable….best self O’s ever…

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:38 PM

You’re autocorrects are dissecting Fabis?

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:38 PM

190 comments already.

Hmm, I wonder if you all would of noticed if I started using a B occasionally like Fabi?

Bev with an accent? Too long?

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:39 PM

Ahhhhh, Harry Potter. Okay then. ;)

Ela, too late…I already suffered through it a while ago. It was a bit much even for me. :?

Congrats to your son, Cheryl!!!

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:39 PM

Hi Cheryl….be very careful who you friend on Good Reads! We are NOT who we seem….*playing scary music*

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:40 PM

But…who has the accent? Depends on who is pointing at whom….

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:41 PM

So sorry Amy! *hands over Illicit and a double strength Poise* ENJOY

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:42 PM

Glass walls…no soundproofing…we are not who we seem…scary music

I’m leaving

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:42 PM

Whew! I was gone for like a second and it took me forever to catch up!

Hi Cheryl!

Yeah…UK Bev is probably best. Or we could just call bev “Real bev” no? Ok.

No Amy. No Carnage. Forget the sad. It will just make you angry.

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:42 PM

Hey, Cheryl. Sounds like a great time.
Ela is drunk in the Jungle.
Fabi is peeing her pants.
Amy :(
R. Is seeing double.
Tessa is reliving book memories
DG went out with the wrong Sherlock

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:44 PM

I am playing with monsters and he’s a jerk. It’s great.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:46 PM

Oh for the love of…

Sherlock :D

There, Bev…better??

Fabi June 28, 2016 at 9:46 PM

and now “monster jerks”

*runs for the hills*

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 9:48 PM

Ela just recommended Six to me on GR. Am I going to get yelled at about it later?

Grey June 28, 2016 at 9:48 PM

OMFG! chatty b*tches up in here tonight.

Fake Bev in the hall tomorrow… omg, I’m dying. You guys are too much!

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:48 PM

Am I the only one seeing innuendo in Tessa ‘ s comments?

Amy, you know how you can really turn that frown upside down?

Amy June 28, 2016 at 9:48 PM

Monster jerks??? ‘Cause regular jerking isn’t enough?? :P

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:49 PM

R? Are you? *plays sexy sultry music*

bev June 28, 2016 at 9:49 PM

You’re probably wishing I was UK Bev now, huh?

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:51 PM

Amy? “Cause regular jerking isn’t enough?” *doubles over laughing*

“Welcome to the jungle…we’ve got fun and games”

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:55 PM

Great, now Ela’s going back to the roses again. She’s gonna get hurt!

Tessa June 28, 2016 at 9:55 PM

If you were UK Bev, The Others wouldn’t have been promoted as much, and that would’ve been sad.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:57 PM

Agreed Tessa

Ela June 28, 2016 at 9:59 PM

Oh great! Now that I changed my Carnage rating I have a GR friend telling me I should read the sequel to make the whole story make sense…um how would anything Chang Carnage?

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 10:01 PM

Ela ask her if it will explain how she *fell* on top of his…oh never mind.

Ela June 28, 2016 at 10:07 PM

Oh R! I know how she fell on top of his’muscle’, she tripped while doing naked yoga, duh

Ela June 28, 2016 at 10:09 PM

Oh no! There’s more loving Carnage ‘friends’

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 10:09 PM

I think that was the final straw first me…yet I kept reading.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 10:20 PM

I take it y’all didn’t read the sequel…and the book about her brother (I think?) retelling his version of Carnage…and the novella with the letters…

I stopped after the first book. Wasn’t touching any more of that series with a condom-covered pole.

Amy June 28, 2016 at 10:29 PM

Oh dang…Kacey from Full Tilt is grabbing some Jager after drinking vodka and champagne.

No, no, honey…NOT a good idea. *cringes*

Just like red wine, tequila, beer, and Jager all in one night isn’t a good idea. Not that I would know or anything.

R. Renee June 28, 2016 at 10:37 PM

Bad Jager!

bev June 29, 2016 at 1:05 AM

Good night. Hope everyone has sweet dreams.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 1:22 AM

*whispers back*

Good night, my friend. ;)

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 2:01 AM

*whispers* goodnight real bev. Goodnight Amy.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 6:38 AM

AND good morning! :)

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 7:11 AM

*grumbles* ‘morning

bev June 29, 2016 at 7:22 AM

*passes coffee pot to Fabi*

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 7:48 AM

*whispers* thank you Bev

Leslie M June 29, 2016 at 7:54 AM

*clutches stomach in pain laughing*

Fake Bev?? Fake Bev…. seriously, my stomach actually hurts. That is hysterical.

Tessa, thanks for rec of Consequence of Loving Colton. I actually read that one.

Grey June 29, 2016 at 8:01 AM

*throws open curtains* Good morning sunshines! How is everyone feeling this morning?

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:19 AM

I AM WONDERFUL! I’m still hanging in the Jungle! It’s snug here among the thorns and sh&t!

Leslie, do I have you on GR? I have “a” Leslie.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:21 AM

Oh and UK Bev (fake bev) HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY “SIX” RECOMMENDATION. Fabi, does she not like smut??? You said she’s not into PNR *gasp* and how you can still be friends boggles the mind.

Cheryl June 29, 2016 at 8:22 AM

OMG I missed you guys so much. I laughed till I peed my pants *grabs poise pad from Amy* So much better than the passive-aggressive-sulking-competition between my Mom and Mother-in-law!!!!

Two Bev’s…LMAO

Oh, Grey no drinks for you? Did I miss something?

Not sure what I’m reading next, but I know it’s not Carnage. ;)

Sadly, I didn’t have any GC balance. Not sure how that could be, with all the books I buy!!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 8:30 AM

Well, Ela, look at the time. She’s probably working.

Cheryl, join the club. No rainfall credits anywhere for me either. Never mind the 2,000+ books on my Kindle/Nook. *shrugs* I’ll live vicariously through all here. :-)

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:33 AM

What are you saying Fabi??? I’m at work, working very very hard and I still have time to chat here and check GR!

Oh and getting ready for my surgery next week, so I will have much more time to nag on here…

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:33 AM

Oh good, coffee. I think starting off the morning with mimi-tinis was the problem? maybe we all just imagined two bevs?

Ela she’s probably been stalking us and is shunning your book req! And get the heck out of the thorns your feet are going to be a bloody mess.

Maybe we should figure out what genre she hates and we can all just start recommending books to her for fun to see if she adds them and then we get points?! No? OK fine!

Good morning!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:35 AM

R!!!!!!!!!!! I love that idea but then she might not want to be friends with Fabi anymore so maybe let’s set up new GR profiles with one of our many names (so far 3 others for me) and proceed???? :)

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:36 AM

Feet? what feet? I’m on my back side…lots of cushion

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:36 AM

Just don’t tell Fabi! Wait. Oops. OK I see your point. I still haven’t used my old stand by Agave Nine…

Amy June 29, 2016 at 8:37 AM

*covers face with pillow and groans*

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:37 AM

and what surgery Ela? Did I miss you talking about it?

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:38 AM

Amy!!! Did you give up yet? How far did you get? huh? huh? tell me! Don’t make me break out Ela’s caps this early!

Here *passes coffee pot* drink this first.

bev June 29, 2016 at 8:39 AM

Fabi is still friends with me and I don’t even like the word smut, lol.
This bev also has a job in which I am not a bleep to online chat for most of the day.
I wonder what part of the UK she lives in and what she thinks of the whole Brexit thing.

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 8:44 AM

bev, only you can be this smart this early in the morning

I’ve been up for an hour and forty five mins (I slept in). In another 15 mins I should have ‘both’ eyes open.

Ela! What surgery?!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:45 AM

Jager did Amy in!

I’m having hip replacement next week. I was born with hip dysplasia and sadly both hips are whacked! Already had my right done but it was hip resurfacing, which now I find out is not such a good procedure especially for young females…so that will eventually need re-doing and be a replacement as well. So yeah, I didn’t share cause I don’t think it’s a big deal FOR ME. I just hated all the damn pre-op tests and Dr. visits. Never had to go through so much stuff before a surgery. I already had 2 procedures this year, what with slipping on Jan 1 and breaking my ankle..*sighs*

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:47 AM

LOL I’ve been up since 6:30 and it’s 8:46 here in Windy Chicago (well Des Plaines – neighboring suburb) so I’m all good!

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:47 AM

Jeez Ela!! We promise to keep you entertained while you’re laid up!!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 8:52 AM

“laid up”…is that a position or status???

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:52 AM

Depends on the context, really…

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 8:55 AM

Ela, best of luck with your recovery. We will def keep you entertained here. Or…maybe it’s you entertaining us. Lol

Yes, it’s takes me about two hours after waking up to even become human. It’s why I set my alarm for 5:30 am even though I don’t go in to the office until 10.

I stayed up way too late last night changing Poisees and wiping tears. :-)

Leslie M June 29, 2016 at 8:56 AM

Ok… EVERYONE JUST HOLD ON A MINUTE… There is a fake Leslie too!!! Ela is cheating on me with a fake Leslie!!!

*goes to corner to pout*

THIS is the “real” me:

bev June 29, 2016 at 8:59 AM

Ela, that does not sound fun. Thoughts of speedy recovery and lots of good books while laid up.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 9:01 AM

That Ela. She’ll just friend anyone.

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 9:01 AM

LOL !!! Leslie

bev June 29, 2016 at 9:04 AM

Fabi, I need to do all my interactions online if that’s the impression I have made. A very false impression at that.
It’s fun cause when you made that true comment on accents last night, I was thinking it is way too late to get that deep, lol.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:04 AM

Oh never mind. It’s a Lauren not a Leslie…sorry my bad…in my defense both names begin with L and I get confused easily while in the jungle full of thorns and drinking….

Added you LESLIE.

Thank you ladies…I shall be full of entertainment considering all the pain meds!

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 9:05 AM

OMG and you can totally mix pain meds with virtual drinks!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 9:07 AM

bev, :-) my brain wakes up at night. We’d make a solid 24 hr team.

Grey, GREY! Did you hear what R said? You don’t have to abstain anymore. :-)

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:07 AM

Fabi! I do the whole wake up way earlier than need be as well! I need to check FB, GR, emails, eat breakfast, check KIK, any new releases, and Maryse’s. So about 40 min later I get ready for work. Not your 4.5 hours but still I need time too.

Grey June 29, 2016 at 9:09 AM

LMAO… oh my gosh, you girls are still cracking me up this morning!

Cheryl, no, no big announcements like *that* from me. I actually have pneumonia and am on a ton of medication, so no drinking for me right now.

Ela, oh my poor friend *passes bottle of rose Moscato* enjoy! Please keep us posted!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 9:10 AM

*another high five for Ela*

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:11 AM

Ooooooh, thank you… *takes coffee from R* And I’m still reading FT. I’m about halfway through because it reads pretty quick.

Whoa, back the truck up…Ela?? Hip replacement surgery and you thought it would be no big deal?? Did you think we wouldn’t want to know about it? Geez woman, we care if one of us is getting a toenail removed!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 9:13 AM

or even painted a pretty color

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 9:17 AM

Speaking of pretty color I suppose I should go put on some clothes so I can make my pretty hair color appt. Although…tempted to go in my jammies.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:17 AM

And Grey has pneumonia?? Oh man, pneumonia is awful!! Hope you get better soon. :(

I’m right there with you, Fabi. On school mornings, I get up at 5:00 to make it to school by 8:00…and school is only 20 minutes away. For my internship, I have to be there at 5:00 in the morning. FML.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:19 AM

*takes moscato from Grey*, feel better chickie!

High five, down below, too slow….te he he Fabi… I’m stuck in the 80′s with Axl!

Oh my sweet bloody Amy! Thank you! And I plan on getting a pretty pedi before surgery too!

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:19 AM

And apparently Ela is a sloth in the morning as well…we’re the morning sloth club. Awesome.

It’s too early to come up with a more creative name.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:20 AM

AMY! FML IS SURE APT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 9:20 AM

Crap Amy, I’d be tempted to stay up all night if I had to be somewhere at 5 in the morning.

Speaking of which…I have to go :-(

Catch back up with y’all at work. *waves*

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:21 AM

Gah! If I mess up with the patients’ tubing on the machines, I COULD end up being a bloody Amy!!

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:21 AM

*hugs Fabi goodbye*

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:21 AM

What? Wait! I LOVE MORNINGS, I’M A MORNING SLUT (HMM, that didn’t sound right). I just need to adjust before important commitments…ya know???

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:24 AM

Morning slut?? LOL!!!!!!!!!

Amy June 29, 2016 at 9:29 AM

*snicker* You need to adjust yourself? And Bev says *I* am secretly a guy…

Paula June 29, 2016 at 9:33 AM

I am in the UK and was out for dinner last night – so thought I would check the blog at work this afternoon (so naughty!). People are probably looking at me funny as I try not to burst out laughing at all your antics!

Sorry guys – I have to say I have read all the Carnage books – I will admit I was not a ‘happy bunny’ after the first (especially when I finished the book on the train home and was sniveling!) but the author does redeem themselves in book 2 – well worth a read – I promise!

Also, I thought the Bev on GR was the Bev here – oh well – at least it I can message someone in my time zone!!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:33 AM
Ela June 29, 2016 at 9:34 AM

Paula! YOU would find the positive in the other Bev!

Cheryl June 29, 2016 at 9:42 AM

Awww, Grey hope the meds kick in and you’re feeling better soon!!

Ela, that is big news!! Everyone I’ve talked to after hip replacement always comments that they didn’t realize how bad the hip was until getting it replaced and how great they feel now. My cousin was born with hip dysplasia too. I have memories of her as a toddler in full cast from hip down. Wishing you a speedy recovery!!

I hate mornings, more a late night person. Although, I do like mornings if I can lay in bed and read. ;)

MichelleS June 29, 2016 at 9:47 AM

Need to go back & read all your comments & get caught up. But in the meantime, BEV – I finished Carry On. 5 stars! Going on my favorites of 2016 for sure. Didn’t want it to end. I loved that it was one book, a complete story, kept me guessing… And I fell in love with Simon, Baz, Penelope, Agatha… The numpties & the humdrum too. Perfect. Just perfect.

Jean June 29, 2016 at 10:03 AM

Oh geez did I miss a great time here last night! You are all crazy. I’ve been MIA!

I, like fabi, friended the fake bev when I initially thought it was “our bev”, but she is cool too!

Hi Cheryl and congrats on your son’s graduation!

I’m going to take your minds back to books ladies because I just read an AWESOME BOOK! I AM IN A TOTAL BOOK FOG FROM IT AND DON’T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT STARTING ANYTHING!!!!

It’s A Lover’s Lament by KL Grayson and BT Urruela! SO FREAKING GREAT! Second chance romance and the way they reconnect first through letters and then email…..just WOW!! I’ve read some books by KL Grayson but didn’t know who BT Urruela was. Turns out he is a male author who served in the Army and now writes military romance. He obvioisly had a lot to contribute to this book because it all FELT SO REAL!!!!!!!!! PLEASE GUYS, YOU GOTTA READ IT!

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 10:07 AM

hahahah Ela, now Paula is trying to get me to read Carnage 2. I love it!! I told her you’re about to crack, to keep pushing you.

Paula June 29, 2016 at 10:18 AM

Oh and in case anyone didn’t know – A Gift of Time by Beth Flynn comes out on 19 July – it’s the last one and I can not wait!

DG June 29, 2016 at 10:19 AM

Good Morning Ladies!!!! Or should I say afternoon?

Fabi and Cheryl…no credits for me either…so jealous of those with the hundreds of credits…thinking I could do some major damage with that kinda credit…maybe a total book coma?!?!

Still shaking my head about the Bev’s…the things we learn…now I am questioning who is really who on my GR friend list…
Condensed my name to avoid the confusion…there was one other me before …hence the condensed version.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 10:19 AM

hey!! is this THE SAME Paula? GR Paula? I feel like we need fingerprints now or something. Maybe code words?

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 10:20 AM

Yeah if there are two DG’s I quit.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 10:21 AM

Jean I have that book on some TBR list… Will push it up, then.

Oh Geez R!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t tell Paula but I will probably skim it just for the sake of it???? I’m sorry but once one book turns me off I already have a kind of opinion or mind set for the sequel.

Paula June 29, 2016 at 10:21 AM

I can confirm I am the GR Paula – no duplicate identities for me!!!

Paula June 29, 2016 at 10:22 AM

I heard that Ela!!! Skim reading IS NOT ALLOWED!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 10:22 AM

Oh Geez! double trouble! YES we nee a code or something??? Fingerprints???

Ela June 29, 2016 at 10:23 AM

You saw that, huh Paula??? I was joking, totally kidding…*rolls eyes*

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 10:35 AM

Ela got busted *sang in a sing song voice*

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 10:46 AM

Ela love your pics! You guys are adorable!

Adding Carry On and A Lover’s Lament to tbr. I can’t believe how I went from ho hum what to read to absolutely swamped with ARCs and BRs and new releases and recs. Gah! I’m overwhelmed.

Maybe R will let me sit in the back yard and read for four days while the rest of crew parties on. ;-)

Ela June 29, 2016 at 10:51 AM

Yup R! Why isn’t Paula attacking Fabi with the recommendation????

Thanks Fabi! Although, we are much um “more”, or have more love handles…

Ela June 29, 2016 at 10:51 AM

Is Carry On M/M?????

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 10:55 AM

Paula rec’ed it to me too. But I haven’t (and won’t) read the first one so the rec for the 2nd doesn’t really pertain to me. I appreciate the thought though.

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 10:58 AM

Is Carry On a follow up or spin off on Simon and and Homo Sapiens? The first review on Amazon says “A Brilliant Spin on Simon and Baz”.

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 11:03 AM

WOW – A Lover’s Lament is rated 4.8/5.0 stars out of 706 customer reviews on Amazon.

Young June 29, 2016 at 11:04 AM

GUYS!! I’m half way through the Kraken King by Melijean Brook and it is SOOO GOOD!! I was a little wary first since I’ve never read a steampunk romance before, but the book sucked me in no time!! The world building and slow burn romance between MC is wonderful. The Iron Duke is the first of the Iron Seas series, and as soon as I finish TKK, I need to read TID.

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 11:07 AM

Young, that looks like book 4 in that series…

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 11:20 AM

Ha Fabi! You most certainly can and I’ll wait on you :) Ashley swears she’s going to be writing! I’ll be cooking!

Jean June 29, 2016 at 11:21 AM

Fabi, seriously! A Lover’s Lament is so great! Haven’t had a book make me feel this way in a long time! I want everyone to read it!

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 11:24 AM

Ela! You guys are too cute!

Yes I need you add LL. I’ve been seeing it around GR.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 11:37 AM

Ela, good luck with the surgery. Anything tho get egos of that pain.

Grey, get well soon. Pneumonia just sucks. No other words needed.

Alright, on a serious note, how are you all able to think in the morning? (You turned into thou again. Damn Shakespeare ghost!) I was up all night reading. I already know it’s the best book this month. This morning I’m still in a book fog. It was hawt, intense, and the angst was high. However, the last 20%ish, *eyes wide* it made my heart hurt so badly. Then, that end blew me away. Warning… It ends with the end… for now. It’s fighting with Marked in Flesh for best of the year. Ack, my heart!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 11:37 AM

Young…that series looks interesting! Does it need to be read in order?

Thanks R! And I agree! We can wait for Fabi…LOL

Ela June 29, 2016 at 11:38 AM

Tessa!!! Monsters??? I so can’t wait! And thanks!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 11:48 AM

No waiting needed. Ashley can click away at her keyboard while I swipe away at my Kindle. You really don’t want me near your kitchen anyways, I tend to burn water while trying to boil it. (scout’s honor, you wouldn’t believe how many empty pots I’ve ended up with when I was trying to boil some water) However, I can dial a mean delivery order. :-)

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 11:48 AM

Tessa, your book may be too heartbreaky for me.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 11:58 AM

We’re only at 310 comments and Maryse still hasn’t jumped in? Maybe she’s trying to read all the comments…poor thing!

Fabi! I’ll teach you to boil water! It’s all in the technique!!!!

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 12:04 PM

Ela makes everything sound dirty! *technique*

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 12:05 PM

LOL! Ela… EXACTLY!!!!!! I’ve been skimming… snorting, skimming, then 20 more.. and I’m just hanging out with you guys… bein’ a lurker!!! :P

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 12:06 PM

I’ve been wondering if we’ve abused Maryse’s welcome with this thread. :-/

I appreciate the offer Ela, but if I haven’t mastered it at my age I probably need to erase it off my bucket list.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 12:06 PM

R? You sure it’s my writing it or your interpreting it????

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 12:08 PM

There better not be a fake Maryse!!! It’s bad enough I have to compare to a hot diva! Grrr. LOL!!! :P

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 12:09 PM

By all means, my friends… chat and comment and have fun! We have no rules here other than be nice and love one another (even if you don’t agree on stuff).

*glitter sprinkles and rainbows for everyone*

P.S. I mean.. you don’t HAVE to “love” each other… that’s not a rule. LOL! But it’s fun! :D Right?

Ela June 29, 2016 at 12:09 PM

Maryse? A lurker on your own site? Blasphemy! Sorry if we/I abused your site.

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 12:10 PM

I do love lurking sometimes. I can’t figure out where to insert my comments, but I snoozed, I loozed.

At least I get to laugh in private with you guys. Ergo.. lurking.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 12:11 PM

Fabi, it’s not that type of heart break. It’s just the pure crap she’s dealing with and all the stuff that happens. It’s not a standalone, but it ends on a uh… I want to say hopeful? Note. Yeah hopeful-ish. I need book 2 stat!

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 12:13 PM

I bet she lurks all the time. :) Last night it was hard to keep up.

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 12:17 PM

Oh it was… I was there though, and giggling. I was also reading which is why I missed so much.

DG June 29, 2016 at 12:41 PM

Yay Ela! I have the right Ela! Adorable couple by the way!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 1:19 PM

Thanks DG!

Thanks Maryse for the Amazon coupon!!!! I got mine.

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 1:52 PM

I’m excited! It’s like a book bounty this week. Or is it booty? I dunno. Lotsa books for cheap!!! LOL! :P

Grey June 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM

Oh dear…and this is reason 125 why prescription cough syrup has a warning label on it.

Fabis comment read… “Maybe R will let me sit in the back yard and read for four days while the rest of crew parties on. ;-)

I read it as …with the rest of the crews panties on…. Dafuq?!? Good grief!

Thanks for all the well wishes, I’m feeling a bit better. Right now I’m going to read and nap or reverse the order, not sure yet LOL!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 2:30 PM

crap! I’ve been laughing with all of you so much since last night that my eyes are puffy from crying

Leslie M June 29, 2016 at 2:35 PM

So now I feel bad accusing Ela of cheating on me when… A. she really wasn’t and B. she is prepping for surgery. *hangs head in shame*

BTW Ela, you are totes adorbs and hubs ain’t bad either! ;)

I’m currently reading YA rec from Fabi called Unmaking Hunter Kennedy and listening to Crazy Good.

Bad Teacher from new list looks good. The TBR is never going down…

Oooh, forgot to squee over my book settlement!! $125 credit!! Yippee!!!

bev June 29, 2016 at 2:38 PM

Young, The Kraken King will be one of my favorites this year. It was like an old action adventure movie.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 2:41 PM

You read that right Grey. We’ll all be running around in our panties!

bev June 29, 2016 at 2:44 PM

Fabi, Carry On is by Rainbow Rowell and in no way related to Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda.
Rowell wrote a book, Fangirl, and the MC Cath wrote fan fiction. Her fan fiction was based on a book a very popular one, like Harry Potter popular. The MC of that book is Simon & the villain is Baz. Her fan fiction becomes super popular too.
Anyway, then Rowell wrote that story which is Carry On. Yet, Carry On is its own world so can be read totally as a stand a lone. It is wonderful.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 2:44 PM

You want to know what I was snorting about when I was catching up on comments a minute ago? I was thinking, what if the Leslie that Ela was possibly mistakenly talking to on GR is the one who wrote Carnage, after all of her ranting about it? LOL!!! :P

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 2:45 PM

Yeah! Thank you Maryse for the coupon alert. I went to get Six, but got distracted by a book I want to continue the series of, Souls by Ednah Walters. I keep meaning to get it and finally did. :D Hopefully it’ll break my fog.

Ela, I love those pictures, especially of you kissing his cheek. Too cute. However, both of your eyes! His are wow blue, and you have the whole eagle eye shade going. Both super pretty.

bev June 29, 2016 at 2:45 PM

MichelleS, the numpties!!! Lol. So, funny how Baz was ashamed of that, lol.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 2:48 PM

Speaking of Rainbow Rowell…her book Landline is on sale for 2.99!

Full Tilt is giving me Edge of Never vibes. And I love those vibes…even the ones that twist my heart. ;)

Amy June 29, 2016 at 2:49 PM

Okay, I have to sign in to GR and see our pretty-eyed Ela…

bev June 29, 2016 at 2:50 PM

Amy :( Buy it!!!! It is so super good. There is one little scene I find just so simple & beautiful. I think I’ve quoted it here before & might again, lol.

bev June 29, 2016 at 2:53 PM

I think I first heard about it around when you all read that other book on a marriage at a cross roads. By Reid? That one didn’t interest me much but Landline was awesome.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 2:56 PM

Amy! You didn’t add me on GR yet did you?

Amy June 29, 2016 at 2:57 PM

Are you STILL making frowny faces at me, Bev?? Don’t worry, I clicked Landline as soon as I saw the sale. ;)

Ela! You pretty lady!! How cute are you and hubby. :D

On a side topic, my bird just gnawed a hole in my bra strap while I was catching up on comments. *sigh*

Jean June 29, 2016 at 3:17 PM

Lol Amy! Your “bird”…..yeah sorry, I went there!

Thanks for the coupon info! I bought Idol! I’m currently reading Full Tilt……this is gonna hurt no doubt!

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 3:22 PM

Grrr. Souls was book five, not four. So, I gotta wait. Thats okay, but still We are talking about a book fog people! Go read Playing with Monsters!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 3:34 PM

OH Geeeeeeeez!!!!!!! Amy! Are you making out with your bird AGAIN???

Darn it! Here I was trying to be all mysterious and sh!t and y’all go and look at my pics! Hey, maybe I’m really the hubs??? HMMMMMMMMMMM??? Anyways those are really old like 50 pounds earlier old or 7 years old???

While you ladies are running around in your panties (bras or no?) I’ll just start posting pictures on the private side of Maryse’s board!

Maryse June 29, 2016 at 3:35 PM

I have a private side?!!! :D !!!

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 3:38 PM

Since this is the book side, is the other the video side? ;-)

Ela June 29, 2016 at 3:45 PM

Can I just read The Kraken King? I’m trying to piece this book since I see there are parts to it???? Bev….HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 3:46 PM

Of course YOU do Maryse…it’s where people actually have to have a password to sign in etc…and can’t view the threads without signing in :)

Heather Fowler June 29, 2016 at 4:49 PM

Holy crap! Thank you so much for the heads up on all the books, and most of all, for the credits! Yay!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 5:05 PM

bev June 29, 2016 at 5:09 PM

The Kraken King was released as a serial but now you can buy it as one book.
It is part of a series, and I have earlier books in tbr unread, buy I started with this one.
So, read and enjoyed it as a stand alone. However I think for the full effect of the world building then read in order. I really do want to read The Iron Duke. People buzzed all about it couple years ago and I just had to have it. And then not read it, lol.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 6:04 PM

I love you Ela!!! But it will be worth it I swear!!! How’s Amy getting on? She was worried she wouldn’t be surprised, but can you see yet that it doesn’t matter? You aren’t really supposed to be. And now Jean is reading it too!!

I just saw a post on ES’s FB page that the paperbacks are on sale finally. Soooo pretty. When did I start needing the e-book AND the paperback??

Oh and…bras optional Ela ;) *Fabi hides behind tree*

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 6:18 PM

Why am I hiding behind this tree?

bev June 29, 2016 at 6:30 PM

Cause you are bra less

bev June 29, 2016 at 6:31 PM

Amy, Jon and Sans a reunited? And people are shipping? ??

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 6:33 PM

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 6:37 PM

People need to stop shipping family members. GoT has enough that you don’t need to add more.

bev June 29, 2016 at 6:39 PM

But….are they?

bev June 29, 2016 at 6:41 PM
bev June 29, 2016 at 6:44 PM

I want to watch it. I need to catch up.
I’ve read the books and feel like I’ve been waiting decades for those Starks to meet up. Any of them. Made me want to happy clap seeing them, but yeah the ship aspect….I was like WTF? ??

Amy June 29, 2016 at 6:44 PM

Are you caught up on GoT yet? As in all the way to this season’s finale?

bev June 29, 2016 at 6:46 PM

I don’t watch until they are out. And I still have to catch up on last season. I was pouting because of the whole book thing.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 6:49 PM

It’s complicated Fabi but I think somehow we ended up in our scivvies.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 6:52 PM

R…I’m coming along pretty well with Full Tilt. Emotional, yes. But I’m tellin’ you, prologues like that are keeping me from getting the full impact of the stories lately. :( It used to not be an issue for me but now… *sigh* Books are my crack and I’ve built up a tolerance. It sucks.

And I’m not mentioning my sweet bird anymore!! Jean turns her into something dirty (and she is NOT a dirty bird so don’t go there!), and then Ela accuses me of making out with her. Y’all are awful. :P

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM

Just… no. That isn’t a shipping moment, that was thinking that most of their family is dead, and hey, I have one family member left! Sansa is a strong character (FINALLY!) but no. It wouldn’t secure them at all. There are far better ways to go politically. Just… Nope.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM

What type of bird is she?

Amy June 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM

Oh Bev…Bev, Bev, Bev. Just you wait. His season, and especially the finale, had all kinds of *gasp* moments. Like, crazy good gasps. And heart wrenching…like Hodor. *sob*

******GoT SPOILERS!!!!!!!*******

And yes, since you’ve already seen it, Jon and Sansa are reunited. :D If you don’t want me to spoil anymore though, I’ll stop there. ;)

Amy June 29, 2016 at 7:02 PM

Tessa, she is a little cockatiel, pure white except for a little bit of gray on her wings. I’ve had her since she was just a few weeks old, and she is almost 5 now.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:08 PM

bev June 29, 2016 at 7:12 PM

Sansa, is the only Stark that a lot of them think is alive so she would secure the north.
Amy you don’t have to hold back.

I mean Jon and D are totally related too. Of course Sans a is still married.
If I saw those pictures with out the headline I’d never think ship. Just happy dance. Gah I’ve wanted a reunion.

Leslie M June 29, 2016 at 7:13 PM

Full tilt is officially going on my “too sad” list!! Thanks Ela.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 7:13 PM

Ah Amy that’s a bummer. I’ve been reading that lately about prologues, but mostly from the side of publishers. Is it that they give away too much? I’ve seen some I think work and some I wonder why they don’t just call it chapter one!! I can’t comment on this one because it is different than the one I read and I’m not sure yet what else has changed if anything.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:14 PM

I still have yet to watch GoT… I will eventually but I thought to read the books first.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:15 PM

Don’t you dare ignor me! Damit!!!

bev June 29, 2016 at 7:15 PM

Stay away from that club Ela.

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:16 PM

See! I can’t spell! IGNORE

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:16 PM

Bev! I’m joining your club! That’s it! FINAL

Fabi June 29, 2016 at 7:22 PM

lol Leslie, you’re just now getting that about Full Tilt? I got it when R first read/loved it and rec’d it to Maryse who 5-starred it. Had to be a major tear jerker ’cause these ladies love all those twirly swirly stormy emotions.

Anne June 29, 2016 at 7:26 PM

Woo just one clicked Six! Sounds so good and I haven’t read a dark/captive book in a while.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 7:27 PM

Okay Bev, I’ll give you a couple of spoilers. If I start listing too much, I’m going to end up with word vomit. Well, more than usual. ;)

********GoT SPOILERS*********

Heh, Sansa isn’t married anymore. Ramsey is dog meat. Literally. It was freaking GREAT!!!! And Jon Snow apparently isn’t a Stark but a Targaryen!! And Cersei gets her revenge (even I felt sorry for her by the end of last season) but that revenge is at a VERY high and unexpected price. And…alright, I have to stop there.

bev June 29, 2016 at 7:33 PM

Not married? That I don’t remember from the books. Jon, I knew.
And with Jon made me wonder about the dragons, cause in the books in the last time there were dragons it was, I believe, 3 Targaryen siblings who had them, and D has three.
It is funny no one is safe and do many not likable and yet so many I want to be OK in the end.
One gripe with the show is that some things happen to certain female characters that didn’t in the book.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 7:36 PM

I said I love you Ela!! <3

FYI if I give something 5 stars, it's probably a tearjerker!!

Cheryl June 29, 2016 at 7:39 PM

Maryse, thanks for the info on the Amazon ebook coupon. I didn’t have any book credits, so $3 sounds good to me!! :)

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 7:42 PM

Ela!!!! I’m reading backwards! I’m sorry I know you knew it was sad so I thought you’d love it. No more recs from me :(

Grey June 29, 2016 at 7:46 PM

Wait, what’s this about a coupon??? I missed something! I got no credits, so I need all the coupons I can get!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:49 PM

Anne, I loved Six! Enjoy!

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:52 PM

Ela June 29, 2016 at 7:53 PM

Amy and Bev? What in the heck are you talking about??? Spill the details!

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 7:53 PM

Grey. Top of this post, before the books are mentioned.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 7:55 PM

Bev, just watch the season. Too many important things happened. Like STUFFS! happened.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 7:56 PM

Ela. Game of Thrones

Leslie M June 29, 2016 at 7:59 PM

I like that you guys read the super emotional ones, then I know to weed them out!! I am a book-wuss.

I want to read The Bronze Horseman at some point….going to need lots of support for that series.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 8:01 PM

How am I doing with the caps?

Amy June 29, 2016 at 8:35 PM

Bev…what I meant was she isn’t married ANYMORE. She’s a widow now. ;) About freaking time.

R…that is pretty much the problem I have with the prologues lately, that they give too much away or ruin a part of the plot which I would rather be hinted at and then eventually revealed entirely. Like with Edge of Never, which FT has kinda similar feels to…things were going along just fine and then WHAM!!! Knocked me on my a$$ with that reveal.

One exception…Cruel and Beautiful. After the prologue and by a couple of pages into the first chapter, I just KNEW what was happening. I know the author(s) wanted it to be a crazy, mind-blowing twist, but if I had not figured it out ahead of time I would have been HELLA P!SSED over the twist. I love a good twist but this one wouldn’t have worked for me. By knowing ahead of time, I was able to let the book slowly break my heart…and it DID break it. Hell, it still hurts when I think about it. :(

Amy June 29, 2016 at 8:37 PM

Leslie…there are several of us who still have to read The Bronze Horseman and will be doing a buddy read of it. Stick around and read it with us when we do. :D

bev June 29, 2016 at 8:38 PM

What do you ladies think of Daenarys?

Amy June 29, 2016 at 8:46 PM

LOVE her. Love her and her bada$$ dragons.

You should see her in Me Before You…COMPLETELY different role and she pulled it off as well as she pulls off her GoT role.

DG June 29, 2016 at 8:52 PM

So ladies…..A Lover’s Lament…..JEAN are you out there listening??? I did not realize that the co-author was B.T. Urruela!!!!!!!

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 9:00 PM

Adore her. I’m glad how the last few ended. We have the conqueror back.

Who’s your favorite? Mine’s Arya. (your was Thor? Huh)

bev June 29, 2016 at 9:00 PM

It’s weird. I totally cheer her on every time she has overcome, defied odds and expectations, and yet ….I don’t feel like I like her as much as everyone else does. I’m also not sure she won’t go mad with power.
And I really root for the Starks.
I read that first book long ago and I’ve forgotten a lot but I can still remember those scenes with D and her crazy brother and how she came out on top.

DG June 29, 2016 at 9:03 PM

So this guy….B.T. has the real deal experience with the solider part…

bev June 29, 2016 at 9:04 PM

I have too many favorites that’s the problem.
Arya, John, Brienne, Tyrion
In the books Jamie had such a great arc, show too, but sounds like that went no where.

bev June 29, 2016 at 9:05 PM

Have a hard time being interested in male written romance books, lol. I’m not sure why as I read them with other genres.

bev June 29, 2016 at 9:13 PM

I just looked at Maryse ‘ s FB update and she wrote something like, “she’s homeless” and I read it as He’s Holmes. For One nanosecond I Freaked out, lol.
It has gotten out of hand, like when I dreamed about her reading WiR and writing a numbered list on why she hates it.

Tessa June 29, 2016 at 9:15 PM

Thor. My phone’s Shakespearean ghost likes Norse Gods, I guess.

Jamie’s arc is awesome. After the last episode I can’t wait for what he’s going to do.

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 9:43 PM

Amy, the other prologue I read would have done the same. I guess I didn’t think of that because I read the blurb and it alludes to it as well.

Amy June 29, 2016 at 11:02 PM

I *knew* it. I knew that’s what the promise was about. Looks like book 2 should be as emotional as this one. ;)

Okay Bev (actually, anyone…everyone), let’s talk about dreams since you brought it up. Have you ever had a weird sex-related dream, could be as simple as passionate kissing or as complex as going all the way, about someone, whether you know them well or not and could be male or female, from work or school or a social situation or whatever, and then the next time you see them it is awkward as hell and you have trouble being around them, even though you KNOW they have no idea you had that dream, and they have no idea how much you are squirming internally?

Yeah, me neither. :?

R. Renee June 29, 2016 at 11:30 PM

One time I did (dream) about Ryan Seacrest, and while I didn’t bump into him the next day, I seriously considered therapy.

Grace June 30, 2016 at 12:21 AM

Oh my goodness! This is the thread I chose to check back in on. I’m overwhelmed. I laughed so hard hubby got annoyed because I couldn’t stop laughing long enough to explain why.

Books! That part too! I added to my pile as always! I’m overwhelmed there as well.

KA – Rock Chick news! Can’t freaking wait! Just had to note that post. She’s my absolute favorite and her characters are like real friends to me, even though I know that’s mental. I simply don’t care.

Ela! I’m just now recovering from 3 surgeries in the last year. Not my hip replaced, but I had masses removed from the same hip twice along with a hysterectomy. (3 different surgeries) I send you lots of well wishes and quick recovery vibes along with my prayers. Get fixed up and get better soon! Maybe stay away from miserable books while you are recovering! LOL!

Missed all you crazies! Off to the gym to plod forward on my new “regaining my health” lifestyle. Kindle app on my iPhone means I can read while on the treadmill! It’s how I finish each session because it’s my reward for the rest of the workout. Stick a book in my face and 30 minutes goes by on the treadmill and I don’t even realize it!

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 2:40 AM

408 freaking comments!!
Dont have time to catch up on all the chat so Im skimming. Didn’t know we had two Bev’s?? Are they both Sherlock lovers?

Im about to start Dry July tomorrow….so you better pour me a bucketful of Mimosa or a massive Martini….It’s gotta last me the whole month.
And my crazy (far too motivated) sister has roped me in to doing the City to Bay marathon in September….I feel depressed already.
Think I’ll just sit here and stare at the cover of Clutch for a while until i feel better. ;)

Maryse….I probably dont say it often enough…..but.. thank you for making these ginormous lists and keeping me up to date. Amazing job!

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 2:48 AM

Amy…..Ive dreamed about kissing a girl I know….it was full on and Im not even in to girls. But it was nice kissing her in my dreams. And I would never ever in a million years tell her that!! Or my husband….he’d probably like the idea!! *snort*

Grey June 30, 2016 at 5:23 AM

Thank you Tessa! And thank you Maryse as always!!!!

Wow this is the busiest thread we’ve had in a long time!! Welcome and welcome back to the newbies and those that have been MIA. (Way to go Grace, keep up the good work!)

Grey June 30, 2016 at 6:29 AM

I forgot…FLT!

“The music isn’t the only thing in this club that’s hard.” Bad Teacher by Clarissa Wild

Jean June 30, 2016 at 6:41 AM

DG, I wasn’t familiar with BT Urruela until I finished A Lover’s Lament and immediately looked him up! I am totally intrigued by him! Are you familiar with him?

I’m reading Full Tilt and Ela has me completely scared! So FLT, “I was drunk.”

I’ve never seen this many comments…. wonder if we hit a record.

Ela June 30, 2016 at 7:01 AM

Thanks Grace!

R! You did very well with the caps!

Ela June 30, 2016 at 7:02 AM

Jean, just have your sleeves ready or tissues, whichever!

Grace June 30, 2016 at 7:04 AM

Full Tilt…uh…NO!

Thanks Grey! Was it you shaking off pneumonia? Whoever that was – Rest, Read and Get Better!

Whoever encouraged me to read N.A. Alcorn’s – Forget. Finally getting to it and loving it. Thank you! *blows kiss* (into the air apparently, cause I can’t remember who it was)

Bad Teacher! I am so freaking tempted! I want to pick it up really bad, but a sketchy review made me wait. Please! Those of you reading it, let us know what you think. I’ll be looking for opinions – doesn’t have to be this thread. I know what I want it to be, but I just can’t take being disappointed right now. I’m too tired from shlepping my fat butt around trying to lose weight. When I finally get to lay back and read I just need it be what I need it to be! Oh God, why is getting fat so much easier than losing fat? Why?

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 7:21 AM

Grace so glad your enjoying Forget….think I may have badgered you into reading that one. IMO the second book is even better. I loved the music references.

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 7:26 AM

FLT: ‘It was the calm before the storm.’
Stand T Gephart.

Its OK but not really dragging me out of my book funk.

Grace June 30, 2016 at 7:28 AM

Thanks Lisa! It was totally you because you made sure I knew I had to read the second book last time as well. Ha Ha! Yes Ma’am! 2nd book even better – Gotcha!

P.S. – I don’t see it as badgering just energetic advice! ;)

Grace June 30, 2016 at 7:30 AM

Oh! Redirecting that floating kiss your way Lisa! There ya go!

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 8:24 AM

“This looked like a damn good place to die.”
Born of Legend by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I’ve been reading it for what? 3-4 days? I’m at 30%. THAT’S the kind of novel I like. I love getting lost in another world. I know I’ll be sad when it’s over. These are the stories I remember long term. For me, shorter books come and go so quickly that I barely remember them a week later.

MichelleS June 30, 2016 at 8:31 AM

STOP THE PRESSES…. trying to get caught up here. Someone please update me. GR Bev is not our Bev? Shut the front door already! OMG. I friended her on GR thinking she was. She must think we are all freaks. Just so you know, Michelle on GR is the real MichelleS. Oh Lordy. I should have guessed. Our Bev always gives me good recs.

FLT: “Jarl Magnus Knutson sat in a place of honor at the elevated head table overlooking the congested hall, impatiently marinating in boredom.” The Warlord’s Wife.

I was in the mood for a formula romance, and this formula works for me. Big bad viking warlord takes a wife to form alliance. She feisty and he’s gruff. I know it’s going to be a HEA. So no freak outs or heart palpitations. :-) Sometimes I just need to get back to that.

Ela June 30, 2016 at 8:50 AM

MichelleS, are you sure YOU are Michelle on GR??? Keeping tracking is becoming very confusing! Plus some of us have different “pseudonyms” or whatever…Then there are the capital B vs. lower case b!

Ela June 30, 2016 at 9:07 AM

“Katie-JESUS.” My tongue swirls around Devin’s nipple, effectively cutting him off midsentence, and when I nip at it playfully, a low growl rumbles from his chest.

A Lover’s Lament by K.L. Grayson and B.T. Urruela

bev June 30, 2016 at 9:08 AM

You too?
I have that book in my tbr, I read a review that it is reminiscent of those old HR books. I was all Tessa look, lol. Hmm haven’t started CHR yet tempted, let us know what you think.

MichelleS June 30, 2016 at 9:10 AM

I am sure there are a million Michelles on GR – but I am the Michelle that is friends with Fabi. Is there more than one? There are several here, which is why I am MichelleS.

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:20 AM

“To say it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all… Yeah, that’s bullsh!t.” ~ Pieces of Summer by CM Owens

Oh man, Jean…you’re in for some emotion. ;)

GO LISA!!! Running isn’t always fun (I have to force myself to do it) but the feeling afterward is worth it. :D

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 9:23 AM

No FLT yet. Can’t decide. I just know from the comments not reading Full Tilt; well at least until book 2 is released.

Sitting here watching my iRobot Roomba clean my dust-bunny bedroom floor. (Got it for hubby for Father’s Day- boy was he surprised)!! It’s the height of laziness to sit here reading and having a robot clean my floor, BUT it just went under the bed- good god it will probably get clogged up and die under there with all the dust-bunnies!!! Actually hubby and my son are intrigued by it because of it being a robot, you can write code and change what it does. It speaks to the geek in them. ;)

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 9:33 AM

So which Bev is our Bev on GR? Not the Bev with the pic of the dogs from the United Kingdom. ;)

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 9:40 AM

Same book as last Thurs, but the prologue changed so FLT: “White light pierced my eyes.” Full Tilt. It looks like aside from that change, not much else did, so I’m simultaneously read the second Fish Tales book: “The day dawned bored and looking for trouble, and Daisy woke up needing to get high.”

Haha MichelleS: “…but I am the Michelle that is friends with Fabi” doesn’t really instill confidence!

Thanks Ela! I’ve been practicing on my husband. But instead of caps I’ve been using really loud words ;)

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:41 AM

Cheryl…Full Tilt is one of those where it is a complete story but sets things up for the next book. As long as you go in with no spoilers, you won’t know which way the ending is going to go. ;)

Oh wow, I was going to read Sweet Alibi and was re-reading the blurb when I saw the part that it was formerly released as the duet The Morning After and Light in the Morning…both of which I have already read, dangit! Apparently they were good because I four-starred both of them, but I remember absolutely nothing about the story. :? At least it’s not too late to return the ebook…

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 9:43 AM

I did not know you could return e-books!!

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:44 AM

Oh good lord, MichelleS…after all the mayhem up there, you had BETTER be the Michelle I am friends with on GR. *snort*

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:46 AM

R…you can on Amazon, as long as it is within 7 days (I believe). If you go to where it lists your ebook purchases and click the drop down tab beside each book, there is an option at the bottom of the list where it says Return for Refund. Like I said though, there is a time limit for when you can.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 9:51 AM

good to know thanks! Good for impulsive one-clicking!

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:08 AM

Alrighty. I just remembered another reason the dual bevs confused me. Both bev and UK Bev are funny! and in retrospect, share a similar sense of humor/humour (like how I did that?). Has anyone else noticed this? bev, say something funny…

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 10:26 AM

Really Amy?? I didn’t even notice that about Sweet Alibi! Cool for me ’cause I haven’t read the duet. Thanks for that heads up!!

Ela June 30, 2016 at 10:35 AM

That’s great R! How is hubby responding? Rolls eyes? Yells back? Ignores your ass? What, I’m curious? Mine would be like WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME!

Yeah what Amy said…Full Tilt can be read as totally a standalone, no need to wait for the sequel or book 2 (which I think is more apt).

Ela June 30, 2016 at 10:37 AM

UK Bev, I think doesn’t like me after I recommended Six, which as y’all know me IS TOTAL SMUT…STORY? WHAT STORY? I DID IT FOR THE SEX Y’ALL! But anyhow, she hasn’t responded to my rec and I KNOW SHE’S BEEN ON GR since then (yesterday morning).

Jean June 30, 2016 at 10:42 AM

Ela! You are reading it! That first line does it no justice!

Ela June 30, 2016 at 10:44 AM

I’ll remember THAT Jean! So far I’m still at the very beginning so I’ll report back in on how I feel.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:45 AM

Hard to say Ela. His eyes are permanently rolled back at this point! And I was kidding about making the bad recs for UK Bev!! Quit stalking the poor thing!

lisa a ocallahan June 30, 2016 at 10:53 AM

try getting my $3.00 kindle it won`t give it was that for Wednesday only?

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 11:06 AM

“I am finishing up dinner with my family and my fiancé when my husband calls.” One True Loves, Taylor Jenkins Reid.

This one is going to hurt…

Amy June 30, 2016 at 11:07 AM

Yep Maryse…and even if I can’t remember anything about it, obviously I really, really liked it enough to give it 4 stars! :D

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 11:19 AM

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheryl!! It’s like Christmas around here with my 2 favorite writers!! I’m here when you need me, Cheryl. Here’s a virtual bloody mary to get you started…

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 11:21 AM

I just sent you a GR req so I can stalk um…watch your progress ;)

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 11:26 AM

Exactly R. both Bevs have a very dry, hilarious, sense of humor. Which I love! — In a purely platonic, non-huggy, kind of way of course. ;-) bev

Cheryl, that first line…OMG

Amy June 30, 2016 at 11:52 AM

Now THAT is a first line, Cheryl. Yet another book I was SO amped up to read and then it got buried. *sigh*

That’s right…we don’t hug bev ’cause she’s not a huggy-type person. Still doesn’t stop me from sneak-attack hugging her from time to time when I get especially hyper. :P

Ela June 30, 2016 at 12:02 PM

Jean June 30, 2016 at 1:08 PM

Cheryl, you win FLT!!! Wow!

Ela June 30, 2016 at 1:13 PM

Ok so UK Bev doesn’t hate me (maybe?), she liked my TSOT review and says it’s one of her favorites too….R, I’m gonna stalk all I want *sticks out tongue*

Amy June 30, 2016 at 2:04 PM

Alright…having a delayed reaction to Full Tilt. Because of a stupid song. Dammit.

I’ll be in the blankie fort cradling Manny and my bottle of plum wine and rocking back and forth if any of y’all need me.

*crawls in blankie fort and closes flaps*

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 2:06 PM

I’ll stand guard Amy. Take time to heal.

bev June 30, 2016 at 2:42 PM

You guys are sweet. I don’t particularly see it, but thanks.

Tessa June 30, 2016 at 2:45 PM

‘Cool air drifted across the air and fanned my face.’
Souls by Ednah Walters

Okay, I apparently did read book four. In my defense, it’s hard to keep track. Four is called Runes book three, which makes almost no sense. Number two was book one of the grimners, and Souls is book two grimners, but they are still part of the Rune series. *gets all confused*

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 2:53 PM

Sheesh Tessa, if I didn’t have over 1,000 books in my tbr I ‘might’ be able to keep up with that. Did you buy it before you realized you’d already read it?

Amy June 30, 2016 at 2:53 PM

You are one of the most hilarious ones on here. And you don’t even have to try. You just ARE, my friend.

Amy June 30, 2016 at 2:55 PM

Okay, switching it up. I can’t read an angsty or emotional book right now. Because Full Tilt.

“You will develop a palate” ~ Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler

bev June 30, 2016 at 3:13 PM

It is you ladies that make me laugh. :)

Tessa June 30, 2016 at 3:15 PM

lol I thought I needed to buy number four, but when I went back, I saw that number four was called three for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. So, thankfully, Souls was five which I didn’t have and now I just have to read six. After six, I can move onto the next series that involves another character.

DG June 30, 2016 at 5:56 PM

Jean – I found B.T. on Instagram a while back…randomly. Apparently he has fans because he has a page dedicated to him! Did not know he was into writing…truly love that despite being injured he has not let it stop him!

Leslie M June 30, 2016 at 6:45 PM

Anyone watch the Poldark series? Jan130 recommended to me since I love Outlander tv series. I just signed up for Amazon prime just to watch Poldark.

I cannot wait for Outlander finale! I think it’s gonna be a sad one. Man, do I love Jamie Fraser.

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 7:01 PM

I’ve been curious about Poldark too. Maybe I’ll try an episode tonight.

bev June 30, 2016 at 7:07 PM

I’ve watched the first episode & then bought the entire season. …just have to watch it.

So, you like English men?

bev June 30, 2016 at 7:13 PM

Cheryl, lol, just saw your comment. No, that is not me with my dogs in the United Kingdom. *snort*

Jean June 30, 2016 at 7:21 PM

DG, I have to check his page out. I really think he made Lover’s Lament seem so real to me. Clutch! I wanna read that. Did you read the other books first? Do you know if you have to?

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 7:26 PM

What?!!! GR Bev is NOT our ‘Sherlock’ Bev??

How did I end up with her as a friend on GR then?? Ive only got about 6 GR friends and they’re all from here! ! I tend not to accept ‘randoms’. Oh goodness I’ve probably made some inappropriate comment to her about Sherlock or crows/courtyards or Jellicoe Rd or Sweet Gum Tree or peanuts…..

I did wonder about the Union Jack profile pic….its making sense.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 7:27 PM

Join the club Lisa…

DG June 30, 2016 at 7:59 PM

Jean, I did not read the other books first…probably should have because there is some back history there…but not enough to throw me off and saying what the heck….

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 7:59 PM

*shakes head* oh the travesty :-/

DG June 30, 2016 at 8:02 PM

And just to set everyone’s mind at ease….there is only ONE….DG on here and GR…the pic on GR is of my pup. Rotten thing that he is…photo credits to yours truly…(pretty tough getting him to sit on that chair!!!)…lol

DG June 30, 2016 at 8:16 PM

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 8:18 PM

Oh oh

bev June 30, 2016 at 8:21 PM

I do like the union jack.

DG June 30, 2016 at 8:22 PM

Apparently there is another DG on GR…difference D.G. and from the Dominican Republic. *shaking head*

Leslie M June 30, 2016 at 8:24 PM

Just watched first epi of Poldark. Oh my hotness!

It’s good ladies!!!

DG June 30, 2016 at 8:26 PM

Was checking out Ela’s rec of Six ….click to read the blurb and then scrolled down and saw were D.G. rated it a 2 and wrote a review …so MY first thought was …I’ve read this book already???

Amy June 30, 2016 at 8:28 PM

Omg, here we go again. LOL!!

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 8:29 PM

Bev I think I could have reasoned that the Union Jack worked by linking it to his British Hotness Cumberbatch……see it makes sense!!

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 9:02 PM

At about 60% in OTL. I’m all over the place with my emotions and reading into Emma’s comments and thinking about her “choice.” Ugh, it’s only going to get worse… *grabs bottle of wine and heads into blankie cave*

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 9:27 PM

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 9:30 PM

What is OTL?

Off The Lake? LOL!!!!!!

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 9:31 PM

On Time Later.

LOL!!! Holy moly I crack myself up. :P

Jan130 June 30, 2016 at 9:37 PM

Yes yes yes Leslie. OMG. Poldark. You are in for one sweet ride. Drama, adventure, sex, and yes, tears. And hot men in tricorne hats LOL. Oh this show has everything, including the hottest hero since Jamie and Thor. (Well, maybe those three are all on the same page.) This is the show my husband laughingly summed up as ‘that guy riding his big horse in slo mo along the Cornish cliffs all the time’. And yeh, it is, and I love it. Hey, my husband watch it too, despite the scoffing.

I believe they’re making series 2.

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 9:38 PM

One True Loves. *looks at empty wine bottle* did you steal my wine Maryse??

Jan130 June 30, 2016 at 9:41 PM

OK, John Thornton from North and South is on the list as well. :-D

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 9:45 PM

One True Loves.

What wine?

There’s wine? ;)

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:55 PM

*rolls empty plum wine bottle from blankie fort*

*uncorks new bottle*

Come on in, Cheryl. This is the pity-party blankie fort right now. ;)

bev June 30, 2016 at 9:55 PM

Lisa, that works. :)

Thorton—yes. The way he looks at her, swoon for sure. I loved Armitage in the Vicar of Dibley too.

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 9:57 PM

LOL Maryse, did your parents have to lock up their liquor cabinet from sneaky little you?

Amy June 30, 2016 at 9:58 PM

*uncorks bottle for Maryse*

Just, ya know, in case you wanted a glass…or four… :P

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 9:59 PM

I wonder if I’ve commented on D.G.’s reviews by mistake. LOL you thinking you’ve read it. hahaha

Amy June 30, 2016 at 10:00 PM

*snort* That would be SO par for the course around here lately.

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:01 PM

Ok, I gotta watch an episode of Poldark. Maybe Monday since I’ve been trying to watch an hour of TV on Mondays.

Grace June 30, 2016 at 10:01 PM

Oh my goodness! POLDARK!
Jan and Bev, I think, talked about it on here. They are both known by me to have good taste so I was interested. Watched it with my hubby! Made the mistake of telling him what Jan’s husband said about the riding over the Cornish cliffs so he laughed every time they did it. (It was very annoying that he was losing it while I was trying to perv!) In the men’s defense, it was a very popular and probably overused segue scene, but uh… Hotness!

So I loved everything about it. Then I lost my mind over the story. Then I dropped out of life and read all the books. Then I lost my mind a second time when it was all over!

Ah! POLDARK! Tri corn hotness!–/YXBwaWQ9eWlzZWFyY2g7Zmk9Zml0O2dlPTAwNjYwMDtncz0wMEEzMDA7aD00MTE7dz00MDA-/

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 10:02 PM

Fabi I don’t think they had one, but I know NOBODY TAUGHT ME HOW TO DECIPHER ACRONYMS!!!!! LOL!!!!

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:02 PM

You know, Amy, I was just thinking…I don’t get a lot of time in the blankie fort…

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:04 PM

Maryse, are you sure it’s not just that one? OTL was the one I stumped you on too!

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:04 PM
Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:05 PM

*shares secret with Maryse* -pst- just wait a couple of posts, someone will ask about the acronym, then you can be like me and act all “I knew that”

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 10:05 PM

It’s like R. Renee has a totally different name on Facebook and Twitter. I JUST clued in to who she was. LOL!

Maryse June 30, 2016 at 10:06 PM

Question… Fabi. When you retweet my stuff on Twitter, it IS you, right? :P

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:06 PM

I think One Life to Live.

*clears throat*

Know what needs no acronym?

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:08 PM

Woah Bev, was that sheet glued to his thingies? It never even budged.

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:08 PM

Fabi, on Monday? Ooh. I should watch the first one again. You should tell me when and we should have a BW instead of a BR.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:08 PM

I know. I was just using Robin Hill for writing only, but it’s too confusing. I thought about changing it here, but I think that would make it worse!

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:10 PM

Grace June 30, 2016 at 10:10 PM

You are hysterical Bev and you always up the best stuff!!!

I got desperate romantics too, but have only watched the first three so far! That blog just lit a fire under me! Ahhh! I could watch him roll over in my bed all day!

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:11 PM

It used to be me Maryse. But I’ve been keeping away from it for a while now. Months? Because I was getting too depressed over everyone ranting about all the “causes”. I know there’s a lot of trouble in our world, but Twitter was non-stop in my face with it and I found myself moping around a lot. Anyways…it hasn’t been me recently.

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:11 PM

bev!!! You’re on. :-)

Grace June 30, 2016 at 10:12 PM

FABI!!!! Laughing so hard right now. His precious pretty “thingies”!!!!

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:13 PM

Whoa. We have a lot of doubles out there. Hmm. Like a soap? And they are evil and will take over out lives? Or like that episode of Seinfeld?

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:14 PM

I’m only evil on twitter.

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:15 PM

Fabi. That sounds fun.
What was your favorite book this month?

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:15 PM

yeah, “thingies” cause the sheet is ONLY covering his … you know

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:16 PM

I haven’t figured it out yet bev. Have you?

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:17 PM

Grace, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard them called pretty, but I’ll take your word for it.

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:21 PM

I read 11 books and they were pretty good. But no knock it out of the ball park which makes it hard to choose one.
Marrying Winterborne, yes I read the 2nd before the 1st, I love Kleypas worlds.
Clean Sweep though the pnr/scifi mix wasn’t smooth for me.
Duke of Sin, Ok this was just fun. Seriously fun slightly deranged hero who never really reforms. You know this might be one the more I think of it the higher it rises, lol. Maybe it will be a best of.

Grace June 30, 2016 at 10:22 PM

Oh I know, Fabi, I know! My eyes were very aware!

LOL! Beauty is in the eye and mind of the beholder my friend!

Laughing it up over here and I’m gonna have to watch it or I’m gonna get caught perving!

Snort, deep breath, snort.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:22 PM

This was a tough month to pick a favorite! Between Full Tilt and One True Loves…and then I read The Man I Love! Christmas totally came early! If I HAD to decide…Full Tilt. With OTL soooooo close behind.

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:25 PM

It’s odd, I didn’t have a month like R. But it was oddly satisfying cause no real duds or slumps, you know.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:26 PM

This was probably my best reading month EVER.

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:27 PM

Hold UP…R is really Robin Hill on GR??? I am sooo confused!!!

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:28 PM

OMG LOL. I swear I thought everybody knew that!! OK…here it goes. Deep breath…

Robin Hill (the artist formerly known as R. Renee) June 30, 2016 at 10:29 PM

How’s that :) probably too long, huh?

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:30 PM

dang it now I’m in moderation

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:30 PM

And did you know that Jean is actually Judi Dench?

Robin Hill June 30, 2016 at 10:30 PM

I tried to change it. Let me try this.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:31 PM

Nope! Maryse!!! It won’t let me change my name!

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:31 PM

And DG I talk to you on GR. You didn’t know it was me?

Fabi June 30, 2016 at 10:32 PM

Ha! Grace, don’t get caught.

R. That’s awesome about your reading month.

You too Bev, no duds in a month is a great run.

I can’t say the same for me. In fact, I’ll have to figure out my fav tomorrow because nothing is coming to mind right now. “I” did have a lot of duds.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:35 PM

Thanks Fabi! If you’re interested in spending the next hour and 25 minutes in tears I could change your month for you… ;)

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:41 PM

R…yeah, apparently I am the last to know…I think the confusion comes from we have a Robin on here also….so wow…and I don’t use my first name because there was another one (which is rare) and I would probably constantly be …’did I write that…or did I read that?’ LoL…*leans in and whispers…my first name is Donya*

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:43 PM

As far my fav for the month…maybe This Old Heart of Mine and Juked? I have read 15 new books his month with a few rereads thrown in between…

Robin Hill June 30, 2016 at 10:43 PM

I’m trying to change it now while everyone on here knows. Hoping this works. *Crosses fingers!*

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:46 PM

Shoot! I thought maybe using a different email might help, but it won’t let me change my name!

Yeah. I was going to go with just Robin a long time ago but there was another one. I’ve always used my middle name (Renee) since long before Robin Hill, so that was the next best thing. But…then there was a Renee too. So I added the R. I love Donya! That’s pretty! I can’t believe there was another one!

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:47 PM

Bev…Jean is Judi Dench???

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:50 PM

Thanks R…I know it is hard to believe but I saw a previous post and was like …hang on a sec…that wasn’t me!
Just went with initials since it has become somewhat of a nickname.

DG June 30, 2016 at 10:52 PM FB name is my long name and my Instagram is another name aside from DG, etc. Way Too Many Names!!!!

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 10:54 PM

DG, I’m Robin Hill everywhere else. But that’s not much. I’m only on Twitter and GR and I just started using my FB but I suck at it!

bev June 30, 2016 at 10:55 PM

And don’t let her tell you different.

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 11:01 PM

*Jean is Judy Dench*

Oh Bev you crack me up…….
I did know R was GR’s Robin though.

This is all getting very confusing.

I know Im not the only Lisa on here because sometime Maryse posts comments from ‘Lisa’ for books I have never read…i.e. a recent M/M book.

But I am the only Lisa that swears like a pirate and rants about hot Aussies and Australian authors…..and haunts these blogs at night with Jan and Grace while you are all sleeping off your martini hangovers.
And looks alarmingly like a purple grape.

DG June 30, 2016 at 11:06 PM

Call me crazy but I prefer Instagram or FB…started out with FB but geez my feed has way too many shared articles and videos …I enjoy the pics!

Instagram is easy and you can add sooo many pretty pictures….hence, how I knew who B.T. was…and so many more folks that others would be like who???

Bev…are you talking about the same Judi Dench that I am talking about OR are there more out there ….

DG June 30, 2016 at 11:08 PM

Lisa… and on GR your picture is of….a guy of a train reading????

DG June 30, 2016 at 11:09 PM

*crosses fingers that Lisa says yes*

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 11:09 PM

I’ve never had a personal FB so when I got the writer’s one I was clueless. I had to be schooled for 2 whole days to be able to post and follow people. Now I follow Maryse, Emma Scott and TJR LOL. That’s about the best I can do! I can’t figure out Instagram because don’t you have to use your phone for that? I’m a laptop girl. Twitter’s foolproof and if I make a fool of myself on there (which is often) it goes away quicker :)

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 11:10 PM

*checks GR*

DG June 30, 2016 at 11:12 PM

LOL..good point! Not sure about whether you can log on to Instagram from a laptop…I use my iPad so I am sure that I miss a lot of features on GR that you can only get online…

bev June 30, 2016 at 11:13 PM

There is only one.

R. Renee June 30, 2016 at 11:14 PM

OMG bev’s quoting The Exorcist!! No?

Cheryl June 30, 2016 at 11:14 PM

I’m so confused. Yeh, Amy I’ll hang out with you in the pity party blankie fort. * sips plum wine, why are we having a pity party?*

Lisa June 30, 2016 at 11:19 PM

Yes DG…thats me. The pic is from Instagram’s ‘Hot guys reading’. *fans face furiously*

Jan130 July 1, 2016 at 12:17 AM

LOL Bev and Fabi. ‘Was the sheet glued to his thingy?’

*clicks again to look more closely at that sheet and (ahem) thingy and stuff*

Just checkin’ ……. ;-)

bev July 1, 2016 at 12:56 AM

Bonne nuit mes amis.

Lisa July 1, 2016 at 2:08 AM

Goodnight to you too Bev.

Jan130 July 1, 2016 at 2:37 AM

To sleep, perchance to dream ….. maybe of Ross Poldark????

bev July 1, 2016 at 7:25 AM

It’s friday. Yay.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:06 AM

Hey It worked! I’m one whole person now. Thanks Maryse :) You can still call me R though!

Happy Friday!

Bev July 1, 2016 at 8:09 AM

Are we changing are names now?

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:15 AM

I’m just trying to consolidate. I had no idea there were still people who didn’t know who I as outside of here. Especially Maryse! I’ve been talking to her forever on Twitter as RH! Now I’m one person everywhere! Except possibly Amazon where I think I might still be Agave Nine. Whew! That one’s OLD! I’ll have to check!

I see you Capitalized your name! Are you trying to confuse me? Or was it just lowercase the last few days?

Beatrice July 1, 2016 at 8:21 AM

It’s always lower case, well here and other places.
I just thought we were changing for the day. :)

BeV July 1, 2016 at 8:23 AM

Ooh in moderation. I wonder if Maryse has to check each of those.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:30 AM

LOL! I think she had to fix all of my tries last night!

Grey July 1, 2016 at 8:31 AM

I’m so confused…LOL!

I’m the same everywhere haha! I don’t think I’m friends with any of you on Twitter… why not??

Ela July 1, 2016 at 8:33 AM

Lisa???? Now I’m wondering if there is yet ANOTHER BEV! The one I’m friends with from Fabi has 2 cute doggies as her profile.

DG – Six in my defense isn’t really a story…it’s all about the smut baby! Sometimes I like a nonsense read to just let go and read fluff *shrugs*

OH no!!!!!!!!!!! Here we go again! R. Renne – Robin Hill????? YOU ARE 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE! I KNEW IT!

BEV July 1, 2016 at 8:33 AM

I tried a new name with that one but different forms of bev seem to go through.

Elzbieta July 1, 2016 at 8:34 AM

Ela July 1, 2016 at 8:36 AM

Tried a different name and it’s “Your comment is awaiting moderation” huh?

Jean July 1, 2016 at 8:38 AM

Ah bev, what am I going to do with you. Ok, you got me, I’m Judi Dench. Shhhhh….. you crazy girl!

Ela July 1, 2016 at 8:39 AM

I heard great things about this series and was very happy to see this bundle:

Considering books 1 and 2 are 9.99 a piece, that’s a steal! Of course I got mine on B&N, using my credit!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:40 AM

OMG I’ve had so many handles over the years. I go back as far as “pretty in pink” in the old chat rooms in college. Yes, I see now how that wasn’t my best idea… And I still have Annie Vega turned to Agave Nine out there from my Buffy fandom days!

Grey you’re on Twitter!!!?? Just @grey?

BEV July 1, 2016 at 8:40 AM

I tried Beatrice for the morning.

Jean July 1, 2016 at 8:42 AM

Who was it that told me too read Full Tilt? I’m emotionally drained. Why did I do that to myself, I mean I wouldn’t even read Bright Side!

Bev, was it you that recommended Moon Called or someone else here? I couldn’t remember, but it’s been calling my name. Will need a change up after Full Tilt.

What’s everyone got lined up to read this weekend?

BEV July 1, 2016 at 8:42 AM

Jean, if you are not going to be around as often I’m going to start rumors about you.
It’s the way I roll.
Speaking of Michelle. ..

BEV July 1, 2016 at 8:47 AM

By Briggs? I think me, Tessa, and the Michelles all do.

Reading Cold Hearted Rake and want to stick to tbr. But I’m tempted to sneak in Mistress Firebrand by Donna Thorland because of it being the 4th.
And on Monday Fabi & I are having a Buddy watch of the 1st episode of Poldark. I need to refresh to watch the rest & Fabi wants to try it out. Pretty thingies and all that.

Grace July 1, 2016 at 8:49 AM

LOL! bev, Bev or BeV – always funny.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:50 AM

duh. It can’t be @grey or the entire 50SoG world would over take you.

Ela July 1, 2016 at 8:52 AM

Jean, I love the Mercy Thompson series so I say go for it!

Ela July 1, 2016 at 8:53 AM

*whispers to R* *is Grace reading Full Tilt?*

Jean July 1, 2016 at 8:57 AM

BEV, not fair…..aren’t we all in different time zones? I have been really busy lately though at work and then play on the long weekends on the boat at the shore. I still try to keep up to date with you all as much as possible!

And what’s with the change to BEV….or is this the UK bev on GR?

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:57 AM
Jean July 1, 2016 at 8:58 AM

Thanks for the feedback Ela!

Grace July 1, 2016 at 8:59 AM

No, sorry not Full Tilt. It’s N.A. Alcorn’s – Forget. I thought it was an amusing Rock and Roll story, but I got blindsided! I’m all snuggled in bed right now and I need to make a decision about the second book like RIGHT NOW! OMG! What if Lisa doesn’t check in here! I need to know that I’m not going to end up wanting to go postal because there were scary hints of not good story direction possibilities! This book was NOT supposed to mess with my head!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:59 AM

I know bev is trying to confuse us now!

*whispers to Ela* sounds like it, but I don’t think so.

Jean July 1, 2016 at 9:02 AM

Thanks for the feedback Ela!

Lol Robin! Too funny! Please don’t jump on the bev bandwagon! I still can’t remember why she compared me to Judi…..bev, why was that again?

Jean July 1, 2016 at 9:02 AM

Grace, are you OK? Do you need Manny?

Ela July 1, 2016 at 9:06 AM

I have those books and now I’m not so sure I want to read them Grace.

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:08 AM

Jean – Manny? I do! I think I do! I totally need a manatee hug!

Paula July 1, 2016 at 9:11 AM

Grace – you need to read the second book to make it all better.

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:12 AM

It’s a rock and roll book! It’s not like we don’t go into one of these with definite expectations about the trope! Sexy as hell music man, scary issues about too many available women, he proves he’s capable of loyalty. Smoochy Love. Hooray! The End!

This is sooooo much more than that, and I just don’t know!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 9:13 AM

Haha Paula! That’s going to be your catch phrase!!

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:13 AM

Paula – Yeah??? I should?

Paula July 1, 2016 at 9:16 AM

Yes – book 2 is still angsty but ends on a high note – you will love it

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:16 AM

Paula – you say this because you read them? Because he’s bloody scrumptious and he speaks fluent French and she is killing me!

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:17 AM

Manny is available Full Tilters!

Jean July 1, 2016 at 9:22 AM

Grace, you are cracking me up! I have those books too and now you are making me WANT to read them!

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:25 AM

Ela – he’s beautiful, funny, witty, raised in London so he speaks with an English accent, but he lives in Paris and speaks fluent French so he does that in her ear while making sweet love to her, he’s crazy talented, AND he is head over heals for her!

This is not a man you EVER walk away from. This is a man who makes a woman have to control her stabby tendencies and latent stalker tendencies.

Sweet nothings in perfect French!

Paula July 1, 2016 at 9:25 AM

Grace – yes, I have read them and gave both 5*

I even added a little bit of a review – you can see under my id in GR

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:30 AM

Thank you Paula!

Lisa! Sorry for the shouting. It was panic not anger!

Jean – I refer you to my post to Ela. It’s all going to be ok. No one needs to be scared away.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 9:32 AM

Thoughtless was a rock and roll book…

Go read Blur. It makes things better. It’s extremely emotional, but it makes things way better.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 9:39 AM

Ela, read the Protector series. I loved what I’ve read so far, but I’m on number five. I can’t get into that one. I’m tempted to skip it, but again, it’s 5. It must be read before six… right?

And now, people are differently named. I only go by one other name online. Xandory which is for art. There is a Tessa that talks to Maryse on Facebook besides me (I comment there too). I found out when she was quoted as loving audio-books. I was like, uh… I can’t hear well enough to listen to those?

Okay, best book of June, hands down, Playing with Monsters by Amelia Hutchins. I still haven’t reviewed it on GR because it was just so good, yet wrung me out emotionally.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 9:39 AM

Oh Bev, are you reading those four in your TBR that we numbered for you?

Grace July 1, 2016 at 9:39 AM

Tessa – Well…going in I thought it was going to be a simpler version of what Thoughless was. Herein lies the problem! I was way wrong.

I’ve got book 2. I’m starting now.

Hubby is rubbing my back and saying “there, there,” but I’m not sure he took me seriously when I said he needed to learn sexy romantic phrases in French for me so he could whisper them in my ear.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 9:41 AM

Tessa was that the book with the warning label?

Ela July 1, 2016 at 9:53 AM

I’m glad to hear that Tessa!!!!!!!!!

Ok Grace, I’ll read them some time soon (which may be tomorrow or in 5 years). There should be a tutorial for men of sweet nothings to whisper to your partner!

Ela July 1, 2016 at 9:56 AM

Playing with Monsters (Playing With Monsters #1) by Amelia Hutchins

About the hero: chances are you may not fall instantly in love with him, that’s because I don’t write men you instantly love; you grow to love them. I don’t believe in instant-love. I write flawed, raw, caveman-like assholes that eventually let you see their redeeming qualities. They are aggressive, assholes, one step above a caveman when we meet them. You may not even like him by the time you finish this book, but I promise you will love him by the end of this series.
About the heroine: There is a chance, that you might think she’s a bit naïve, or weak, but then again who starts out as a badass? Badasses are a product of growth and I am going to put her through hell, and you get to watch her come up swinging every time I knock her on her ass. That’s just how I do things. How she reacts to the set of circumstances she is put through, may not be how you as the reader, or I as the author would react to that same situation. Everyone reacts differently to circumstances and how Magdalena responds to her challenges, is how I see her as a character and as a person.
I don’t write love stories: I write fast paced, knock you on your ass, make you sit on the edge of your seat wondering what happens next books. If you’re looking for cookie cutter romance, this isn’t for you. If you can’t handle the ride, un-buckle your seatbelt and get out of the roller-coaster car now. If not, you’ve been warned. If nothing outlined above bothers you, carry on and enjoy the ride!

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 10:08 AM

It’s the warning label one. Honestly, I expect good from her, but this one wrung me out emotionally. Stuff just kept happening to her! Gah.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 10:10 AM

That’s crazy! I wouldn’t have expected that from the “label”!

Jean July 1, 2016 at 10:38 AM

Moving Playing With Monsters up on my list!

Favorite book for June, A Lover’s Lament. I have so much love for that book right now!

Amy July 1, 2016 at 10:51 AM

So we’re changin’ names around here? Well, I want to be Fat Amy!! Remember her from Pitch Perfect? Even though I’m not blond and look nothing like her, and I definitely can’t sing like her. :? But Fat Amy would be fitting because I mentioned to my trainer the other day I was getting some slight edema over my shins so maybe I should take it easy in case I was getting shin splints (hey, a girl can try), and he told me I was getting edema in my a$$ so no way was I going to take it easy. Hmph. Whatever. *snort*

And apparently y’all have picked my next few reads for me…Forget/Blur and Playing With Monsters!! Y’all used some magic words. :D

Amy July 1, 2016 at 10:53 AM

Poor Manny is getting all kinds of snuffles on him over Full Tilt. He’s gonna need a nice, hot, lemony-scented bath after everyone is through with him!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM

You didn’t get the memo Amy? It’s name change Friday! All the cool kids are doing it.

Amy July 1, 2016 at 11:05 AM

I wanna be cool too!!! Fat Amy it is. :D

“You call yourself Fat Amy?”

“Yeah, so twig b!tches like you don’t do it behind my back.”

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:11 AM

You were already cool. I just didn’t want to be alone ;-’(

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 11:19 AM

I got Lover’s Lament due to all your recommendations. When that mood hits, it’s first. Right now, though? Book funk. Nothing seems good.

Jean July 1, 2016 at 11:19 AM

Fat Amy! Blahahahaha! I AM NOT JUDI! My hubby calls me Bean!

Amy, I knew you’d be behind me with Forget/Blur and Playing With Monsters! I think you are seriously wearing off on me!

ELA July 1, 2016 at 11:21 AM

ELA July 1, 2016 at 11:23 AM

Reading Lover’s Lament right now :) Next up PNR baby! Not sure if I should go back on my TBR and do Beast or Charley Davidson or Monsters etc???

Jean July 1, 2016 at 11:30 AM

Ela, how are you liking Lover’s Lament? *crossing fingers*

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 11:37 AM

June sucked. Come on July!

I read 16 books and have only 1 five star among them. I don’t know if you realize how unusual that is for this queen of the five-stars.

*****Cross (Gentry Boys, #5.5) by Brent, Cora*****

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:39 AM

Wow Fabi! That’s true!! It’s like opposite month for us! I rarely give 5 stars and I gave 4!!

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 11:46 AM

sure, go on Robin, keep making me more jealous *snort*

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:48 AM

It’s not my fault you don’t like having your heart ripped from your chest and danced on repeatedly! Gosh!

Amy July 1, 2016 at 11:51 AM

Favorite read for June…I would have to double check what all I read, but first one that comes to mind is Full Tilt. Yeah, I know, I griped about the prologue but how could I give it less than 5 stars??

Which by the way, Cheryl, was the reason for my pity party yesterday. I had a delayed reaction to it, brought on by a stupid song. :P

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 11:52 AM

I just spewed coffee all over my keyboard. Holly hell, I have some insanely insane friends. ;-)

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:52 AM

What was the song Amy? I’m feeling masochistic today…

Amy July 1, 2016 at 11:54 AM

YAY Jean!!! It’s “bean” (*snicker*) a while since we’ve resd the same things at the same time!! *hugs* Missed you, my friend.

And TELL me you’ve seen Pitch Perfect?!? Holy moly, I freaking love that movie!!!! The sequel not so much, but the first one is hilarious!

Amy July 1, 2016 at 12:07 PM

R (sorry sweetpea, you’ll always be R to me ;) )…

Listen to it, read the lyrics while it plays, think of Full Tilt, and if you don’t lose your sh!t then I’ll make you crushed watermelon martinis this evening. Heck, I’ll make ‘em anyways. *snort*

Jean July 1, 2016 at 12:08 PM

Loved Pitch Perfect and agree with the 2nd one! So whatcha gonna start with…..Forget or Playing With Monsters. I’ll make whichever my weekend read!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 12:09 PM

OMG OMG OMG!!! I LOVE Lifehouse. Like Emma Scott and TJR love them!! My book is modeled after their song “Flight”!!

And I heart you for “R” I was already missing that name!

Jean July 1, 2016 at 12:13 PM

Ah geez Amy, you want to make me cry at my desk don’t you?

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 12:14 PM

Holy crapballs. ELA DO NOT CLICK ON AMY’S LINK!!!!

Now I’ll be having a Lifehouse party today while I clean for the retreat! Cleaning and crying! It must be Friday! OMG this song. Dying. *hands Amy a watermelon*

Amy July 1, 2016 at 12:14 PM

R…I LOVE that song! So full of emotion and heartache. Hehe, I take it your book will be the same? ;)

Jean…I’m getting back to Sweetbitter today, and then I’ll start Forget right after. So, tomorrow probably?

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 12:15 PM

Oops!! Jean…you don’t click on it either!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 12:16 PM

Yeah Amy! I write what I read. But…HEA always! Speaking of, check your GR inbox in a few minutes.

Jean July 1, 2016 at 12:19 PM

Too late R!!!!

OK Amy, I’m in to start Forget tomorrow.

Amy July 1, 2016 at 12:19 PM

*hands Fabi a paper towel for her keyboard and snickers* :P

SEE?!? You see why I fell apart yesterday over FT after hearing that song??? And these ladies are used to me posting songs that make them want to cry. Right, Jean? ;)

Where’s Maryse? She is a prime target for my sob-inducing song links…

Beverleeeeee July 1, 2016 at 12:20 PM

Jean is the name of a character that Judi Dench plays. I love that character, so I hear the name it is who I think of. ;)

Amy July 1, 2016 at 12:20 PM

Will do, R…

Ela July 1, 2016 at 12:20 PM

Jean so far I’m really enjoying it.

bev July 1, 2016 at 12:22 PM

Maryse is checking all my comments in moderation with new names, lol.

Tessa, yes I’m going to read those books, it is my tbr. Started the 1st this morn. I snuck a YA in first so starting late.

MichelleS July 1, 2016 at 12:25 PM

We are changing our names just for today? Oh boy! Can I be Mrs. Hawking (Rammel’s wife)? No – people will think Stephen Hawking…let’s see… Mrs. Rhage – wait, no last name there… Oh I know! since I pimp out Tairen Soul Series every chance I get, I will be Shei’tani…. if you’ve read it you’d know what that means, if not… GO READ IT ALREADY!

Favorite June book: Carry On, Rainbow Rowell.

Cheryl July 1, 2016 at 12:26 PM

I loved Forget/Blur!!!

I also loved Pitch Perfect. Fat Amy is great!!

Just finished One True Loves. I liked it, didn’t love it! Intense, gut-twister that seemed to plateau at about the half-way point. I was mixed about the ending/her choice.

Now I need something lighthearted!!

Shei'tani July 1, 2016 at 12:26 PM

Just checking to see if this name change thing works…. LOL….

bev July 1, 2016 at 12:30 PM

*fist pump*

MichelleS, do the BW with Fabi and I.

Amy July 1, 2016 at 12:30 PM <——– This is Maryse checking the comments in moderation because of all the name changes. She's proababy thinking, "New rule! No changing names!!" LOL!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 12:32 PM

What have I done? LOL sorry Maryse!!

Jean July 1, 2016 at 12:40 PM

Hahaha that gif is great Amy!

Jean July 1, 2016 at 12:55 PM

I think Maryse is busy with today’s list which is probably why she’s ignoring us!

MichelleS July 1, 2016 at 1:41 PM

This thread is up to 652 comments. Holy batman! When has that happened last? My Shei’tani comment didn’t show up. Poor Maryse. Having to review all the wacky names & posts. Sorry!

What’s the BW that I’m supposed to read, Bev & Fabi???

Ela July 1, 2016 at 1:57 PM

What is BW? I may have sent a new name as well…poor Maryse!
Oh and sorry Maryse but I may send a few more…

Ela July 1, 2016 at 1:58 PM

I wonder if we could hit 1,000 if WE REALLY TRIED???

Ela July 1, 2016 at 1:59 PM

That song related to Full Tilt did not get to me *shrugs*, yeah it’s pretty but just not the same.

Leslie M July 1, 2016 at 2:02 PM

Amy, I am too embarrassed to admit on a public forum the songs that make me cry over fictional characters. I’m like a crazy person I swear.

A former lurking, creepy, crazy person!! ;)

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 2:08 PM

You’re dead inside Ela!

I had no idea Maryse had to approve all those tries! I thought they just got rejected. But I did want to change my name to match everything else so I really appreciate it!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 2:09 PM

Wait until you have a few of Amy’s virtual watermelon martinis Leslie! You’ll be singing like a sad little canary!

bev July 1, 2016 at 2:09 PM

Buddy watch first episode of Poldark on Monday.

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:11 PM

Robin?????????????? WTH????????????

“You’re dead inside Ela! “

Amy July 1, 2016 at 2:12 PM

You ARE, Ela.

*shakes head*

Amy July 1, 2016 at 2:13 PM

Leslie, admit away!! Do you have any idea how many times I’ve done that here? ;)

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:16 PM

Amy???? *lips quivering* what do you mean? NOT YOU too thinking I’m dead inside??? I cry over books and while watching sad movies…the latest greatest “The Fault in Our Stars”….THAT song just didn’t link to any sad moment for me, geeeeeeeeez!

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:17 PM

Oh and I need a dark read…any recommendations???? And no horror please.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 2:18 PM

Fine! If we are giving sad songs to sad parts of books, here for Blur and Forget…

Jean July 1, 2016 at 2:18 PM

Poor Ela, getting abused by the crew!

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 2:20 PM

Ela, I’m tempted to say Playing with Monsters. :P Alright, Hrm, you ever read Owned by M. Never?

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:23 PM

I did Tessa….don’t remember it but I guess it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be cause I gave it 3 stars.

Yes, thank you Jean…I AM NOT DEAD INSIDE DAMMIT!

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:24 PM

Any one read Topping from Below by Laura Reese? I actually read the entire book and found it very dark and disturbing but highly recommend it:)

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 2:28 PM

Sordid Promise?

Amy July 1, 2016 at 2:30 PM

Fine then, Ela…go listen to Not About Angels from the Failt In Our Stars movie and then report back.

*covers Jean’s mouth* Shhhhhh!!! Don’t coddle her! We’re trying to stage an intervention…she NEEDS to break!!

bev July 1, 2016 at 2:31 PM

I’m dead inside.

bev July 1, 2016 at 2:51 PM
Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:54 PM

Read Sordid Promise and loved it! Keep em coming.

Ela July 1, 2016 at 2:57 PM

Oh shush Amy! I don’t need breaking!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 2:57 PM

I was going to suggest Captive, but you read that one already and I don’t think you loved it.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 3:33 PM

This last year, I didn’t read much dark. I’m shocked out how little is on my list. I tried to read Ruthless by Michelle St. James last night, but the evil kidnapping hero was super nice. :/

Ela July 1, 2016 at 3:42 PM

I don’t know why but I just thought of Hush (Black Lotus, #3) and that HORRIBLE ENDING!

Cheryl July 1, 2016 at 4:28 PM

I haven’t even read the book and that song made me sad Amy. And Tessa just NO, that song is evil. Just hearing the first note makes me grab the kleenex.

Amy July 1, 2016 at 4:35 PM

I’m still out in public…I am NOT listening to Tessa’s song yet.

Leslie M July 1, 2016 at 4:59 PM

Ela, I got one for you that according to your GR you haven’t read yet. The Missing Link by J.M. Sevilla. It’s dark AND smutty. I really liked it. It’s two book series.

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 5:25 PM

Hey I just said if you read Blur and Forget. It’s not my faul the song makes people cry without it. (Little dude HATES that song. He keeps saying it’s too sad).

DG July 1, 2016 at 5:39 PM

Ela- everyone needs a bit of smut everyday….

DG July 1, 2016 at 5:41 PM

R…will ALWAYS be R to me…..

DG July 1, 2016 at 5:42 PM

No definite book plans…after I get the fam settled and fed…I will be checking new releases out….

Amy July 1, 2016 at 6:05 PM

Aw hell no…I am NOT watching that video. The song itself doesn’t make me too sad (notice I said TOO sad) but the video breaks my heart!!

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 6:06 PM

Amy, have you read Blur and Forget by NA Alcorn yet?

Amy July 1, 2016 at 6:08 PM

Nope, those are my next reads though. :D

Amy July 1, 2016 at 6:09 PM

Like, FOR SURE my next reads ’cause Jean is reading them with me.

bev July 1, 2016 at 6:15 PM

Don’t do it Jean.

bev July 1, 2016 at 6:16 PM

Hey, Fabi?
I forgot Monday is the 4th. Are we going to have time for the BW?

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 6:32 PM

Yeah bev, or if you’re busy we can do Saturday or Sunday night instead

Jean July 1, 2016 at 6:32 PM

Haha bev! I’m doing it!

Jan July 1, 2016 at 6:36 PM

Oh yay! Alessandra Torre’s Moonshot is finally up on amazon for pre-order. Comes out Jul 4th. Sah-weet. Torre’s great writing + a hot baseball player equals squee! Looking forward to this one.

I think my fav read of June would be the Dartmoor/ Lean Dogs MC books. I discovered this great series in May but finished it in June. I’m still re-reading The Twelve (passage trilogy). These books are massive, and I haven’t yet got to the new one! It’s pretty post-apocalyptic intense so I’ve been taking a break with some rock chick (KA) rereads for some light relief.

Jan July 1, 2016 at 6:40 PM

Ooh! My comment is awaiting moderation! Due to name change. (Sorry Maryse. Yeah I can so picture you smashing your computer in frustration). This is really Jan130. I’ve always disliked that moniker but when I first joined up it said there was another Jan. But I’ve never seen her comment. Hello, other Jan, are you out there? BTW Maryse, autocorrect wanted your name to be ‘Mares’ LOL.

bev July 1, 2016 at 6:56 PM

Nope, I can do Monday. Just let me know when. I’ll need junk food.

Maryse July 1, 2016 at 7:27 PM

LOL Jan!!!!

You’re here!! :D And name change approved!!!

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 7:43 PM

Maryse you need an enrollment date for name changes! And an address where we can send gifts like rubies and ponies.

Shei'tani July 1, 2016 at 7:53 PM

Is someone going to tell me what BW stands for? If not, I am going with Playing with Monsters. Paranormal, alpha male, feisty heroine… yup… sounds perfect.

I finished The Warlord’s Wife. It was okay. Could have been great if there was some more storytelling. Every time things started to pick up I was like, “okay, here we go, heads are gonna roll now”… and…. then things got resolved. Over and over. But I enjoyed it. Maybe 3.75 stars?

Shei'tani July 1, 2016 at 7:55 PM

OMG! I was just kidding Maryse – don’t make me Shei’tani!!! No one will know who that is. *** tucks tail between legs **** **** making that face from Shrek that Puss-in-Boot made **** (you can change it back to MichelleS) I was just playing. Sorry….

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 8:02 PM

Michelle, BW is buddy watch. Bev and I are going to watch epi 1 of Poldark Monday night (or sooner idk)

DG July 1, 2016 at 8:16 PM

OMG! I was sitting here thinking who is Shei’tani…..

Lisa July 1, 2016 at 8:18 PM

Teehee….just woke up and saw Grace’s rants about Forget/Blur.
And doesn’t it sneak up on you!!

So good and he is just delicious.
I predict you’ll be yelling at me some more before you’re done with the second book.. ..but its worth it.

Best June book the conclusion to Signal Bend…..still messing with my head.
Im reading Lovers Lament ATM and loving it….its easy to picture BT for the H. Sigh.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 8:20 PM

Me too DG! I was almost positive it was a joke, but I couldn’t be sure!

Lisa July 1, 2016 at 8:20 PM

I have 25 3,000 word assignments to start marking today. Yay! Fun times.

DG July 1, 2016 at 8:27 PM

It’s kinda freaky scary that Maryse has that much power…..

bev July 1, 2016 at 8:35 PM

Shei’tani, that’s awesome.
yes a buddy watch of Poldark. ….come. Join us.

MichelleS July 1, 2016 at 9:54 PM

I’m looking up Poldark now. Never heard of it because I rarely watch TV. And how do you pronounce it? Doesn’t it look like some dirty word? Like a body part or sex act?

MichelleS July 1, 2016 at 10:00 PM

Ooh. Hot damn! I Googled it & my s teen filled with pics of a guy that looks suspiciously like the male lead that pops into my head for the tall, dark, handsome, dark-haired rake type. Ok. I’m in on the Bee-dubyoo. (Also known as BW).

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 10:37 PM

LOL MichelleS, you missed out on the gifs Bev posted. One of them involved a tiny corner of a bed sheet and nothing else. The link is on Tuesday’s thread. Well worth going to look for it.

bev July 1, 2016 at 10:56 PM

Yay, MichelleS. It should be fun. It is a good show.

Grace July 1, 2016 at 11:04 PM

LISA!!!!! BLUR!!!

I finished Forget, had my freak out and dived into the new book Blur because, seriously, I was fully annoyed with the heroine. Then flying monkeys throwing poop! I don’t have words for how strung out I was! I STAYED UP ALL NIGHT! I wish I’d never got those assurances! I would have gotten some sleep, and probably spent my night dreaming about knocking heads together because everyone was making me crazy – Like. Every. One. Every one! BUT NO! It’s all gonna be ok so “come on baby hit me one more time!”

All night – Here’s me: “Oh thank God, yes! Do that with him then get it together. Love him, make it all better. What? No! No! No, no, no bitch! Are you crazy!!! Oh Thank God, I freaking love him! Yes! Totally…wait! Nooooo! What is wrong with you!!!!! OMG! What time is it? Holy crap, I don’t care – I CAN’T SLEEP RIGHT NOW! Oh finally, yes! Yes, Stop fighting it! Sigh…What??? I CAN’T TAKE IT ANY MORE! Don’t let her go, don’t let her go! Really? I freaking love him! Oh crap! He’s done! Don’t be done, don’t be done! She’s sorry! What is happening right now! I need a hug. I need to strangle someone! Some one DO something! What is Jamie like freaking blind! Does he even see her!!! *numbed out vacant stare, broken hearted frustrated nervous shakes, left eye twitching* WELL IT IS ABOUT FREAKING TIME!!! *long string of curses*

Head to pillow – OUT!

Grace July 1, 2016 at 11:21 PM

LOL! Jan! I was just on a KA re-read walkabout myself! Started with a taste for Mystery Man and then next thing I know, I finished that set, re-read all the Rock Chicks and then flew through the Fatasticals because Noc is coming and….by the time I put my head back up I had read 16 KA books in a row. Ooops!

Fabi July 1, 2016 at 11:29 PM

Grace!!! *dying laughing* you are hilarious!

Tessa July 1, 2016 at 11:45 PM

That’s the exact feeling I had with that series. Now go watch my link!

Amy July 1, 2016 at 11:56 PM

Omg I had to red your rant three times before I could make sense if it Grace because wafermelon martinis. So freaking funny, LOL!!! And so what I want in a book!!

I’m totally cracking up over uour rant!!!

Amy July 1, 2016 at 11:57 PM

Where the hell is autocorrct when I need it. Dumbass auto correct.

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:58 PM

Wafermelon martinis!! I never got one! :(

Robin Hill July 1, 2016 at 11:59 PM

No worries! Wafer is way better!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:02 AM

Tessa! OUCH!!! Ack! Ugh! That was mean!

I’d never seen that video! I’d always gone to a flashing picture one with lyrics. In my mind, Say Something belongs to KA’s book Deacon because in reading that book it was the first time I’d ever heard that song. That and Passenger’s Let Her Go. Both were used in Blur and they hit like an emotional punch to the gut because they totally connect to all the hurting feelings in the story for me. The hurt and the song forever intertwined, but they totally worked in blur and the pain translated instantly.

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:02 AM

Grace youve got it in a nutshell!!

I haven’t been as frustrated in a h since Thoughtless. So glad I coukd spread that frustration around a bit ;)

Now….before you stroke out (with your twitching eyeball and all) ….go and have a nap!!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:05 AM

I’ll have a wafermelon martini *sticks hand up* (f#$k Dry July Challenge).

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:06 AM

Sliding one your way R ;)

Get tipsy with me!!!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:08 AM

Dry july as in no liquor?!?

Yep f#&k that. Might not be sayin that tomorrow though.

Martini for you too!!!

Robin Hill July 2, 2016 at 12:11 AM

Got it thanks! *slides glass back* more places! :)

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:12 AM

Places???? Not please?? Woo hoo it’s already working!!!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:14 AM

Amy, how tipsy are you?

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:19 AM

Sitting in the middle of my bed blankets covering me everywhere but my face and the hand holding the bottle of tequila I’m sipping from and scowling at all you pain dolers – mongering all your ouchies out to innocents, smiling so pretty and sipping on your watermelon drinks while I feel the burn and try to feed the numb!

* breaks out singing Aye, Aye, Aye! Canta no llores!!!*

Robin Hill July 2, 2016 at 12:19 AM

Omg. That must have been strong. *places* suggests a whole different kind of blog, doesn’t it??

Robin Hill July 2, 2016 at 12:20 AM

I love sipping tequila. I’ll join you too!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:21 AM

I’ll share, but only if your singing! No singing no sipping!!!!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:25 AM

Hiccups. Then breaks out into Non Je Ne Regrette Rien!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:26 AM

Bev!!! My hilarious frend!!

I’m tipsy enough hat I don’t care about my typing!!! Hot damm those were good and strong.

Robin Hill July 2, 2016 at 12:26 AM

I’m singing! I’m singing!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:27 AM

Omg Grace is on a roll tonight LOL!!!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:28 AM

But do you care about what your watching?

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:29 AM

It’s maryse singing.

*Lala lala*

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:30 AM

Yep. Dry July as in NO alcohol for the whole month….but oddly the minute I start to contemplate taking up the challenge I am dying for a cocktail or 10.
Keep em coming……go big or go home time!!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:31 AM

Karaoke!! Hey autocorrect worked.

What are we singing??

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:31 AM

Up on my knees, bottle in the air screeching like a howler monkey!

Rien de rien
(No, nothing of nothing)
Non, Je ne regrette rien
(No, I regret nothing)
Ni le bien qu’on m’a fait
(Not the good things that have been done to me)
Ni le mal tout ça m’est bien égal
(Nor the bad things, it’s all the same to me)
Non, Rien de rien
(No, nothing of nothing)
Non, Je ne regrette rien
(No, I regret nothing)
C’est payé, balayé, oublié
(It’s paid for, swept away, forgotten)
Je me fous du passé
(I don’t care about the past)

Sniffles… Dylan.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:33 AM

I’m watching comments pop up in my mail. That what I’m watching.

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:33 AM

Dont know any Mexican drinking songs…..I know Feliz Navidad….so Im singing that.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:33 AM

What happened to the worm? How’d I miss that?

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:33 AM

What. The. Hell.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:37 AM

Canta no llores means Sing don’t cry, but tequila. So now I’ve gone French. I’M SINGING MILLIE’S SONG. For Dylan! Hiccup. I lost my worm. He was my friend.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:37 AM

I hear a howler monkey. Not Maryse singing. She’s gonna ban drunk comments. Lol!!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:37 AM

Who’s dylan? The worm??

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:38 AM

Està Bien!!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:38 AM

Here you go Amy..

“José Quervo you are a friend of mine. I like to drink you with a little salt and lime…..”

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:38 AM

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:38 AM

Grace ate her friend.

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:39 AM

Ok…that me at the limit of my Spanish. Pass the tequila Grace.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:39 AM

OOHH!! Slat and lime and jose!!!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:40 AM

Sigh. Dylan.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:40 AM

I know spanish words.

Bad words.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:41 AM

Again! Who is dylan?? And why are we sighing over him?

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:43 AM

Passes tequila tears streaming…

I did. I ate my friend.

OMG! Dylan. Just the sweetest sexiest English/French tattooed hottest singing…and he’s packing!
(Forget and Blur – The REASON for the tequila AAAMMMYYY!)

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:44 AM

It’s salt Amy! I’m a slat! I ate my Leetle Friend!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:44 AM

Dude, the only Dylan I know is Bob Dylan.

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:46 AM

Amy, I hope you drank some water.

R. Renee July 2, 2016 at 12:47 AM

good lord I take a five minute shower and all hell breaks loose! Can I just borrow the bottle for a minute?

La la la la la bamba…
does that work?

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:49 AM

Amy…..Dylan is book boyfriend numero uno. Si.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:49 AM

Keeps passing the bottle. Any song is akceptble. Hiccup. You just gotta sing. It’s the spirit of the singing. Hiccup. ;)

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:53 AM

Im watching my husband unload timber for the new decking….and damn he looks like Drover in Australia….this tequila is doing its thing…where’s that Mezcal worm. He might morph into Dylan at this rate!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:54 AM

Slimey. The work’s name is Slimey.

Some make sure Amy gets tucked in.

I’m off to bed.

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:55 AM

Work = worm

And I’m not even imbibing.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:56 AM

Why are you sighjng? Does he die??? No no NOOOOO!!!

Singing: Goodbye and it starts to snow in the streets of MEXICO!!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:57 AM

Bawls at Lisa – I ATE HIM!!! I DIDN’T MEAN TO! I’M SO SORRY!!!!

Here, take like five more sips. Hot Husband! Viola!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:57 AM

Buenas noches Bev.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:58 AM

But you gotta get me water bev!!!!

I’m scared to read about dylan now

Amy July 2, 2016 at 12:59 AM

Lisa’s hubby gonna change into a worm Lol!!!!!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 12:59 AM

NOBODY DIES! Dylan is fine. I love Dylan.

Except the worm. The worm died! OMG I killed him. I’m such a slatty worm killer!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 12:59 AM

Read it Amy….no spoilers.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:00 AM

Thanks for fixing up my name, Maryse. (WTH? Now autocorrect wants your name to be ‘Marries’ !!!)

So the blogger formerly known as Jan130 will now just be Jan :-D

Good night all. Hope nobody is hungover tomorrow. Those watermelon martinis can be pretty potent. Just sayin’….

BTW, I hope you all lerve Poldark. He is my TV/18th century crush/husband.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:01 AM

That’s right. No spoilers!!!

Lol Grace is a slutty worm killer.

bev July 2, 2016 at 1:02 AM

*puts water bottle next to Amy*
Seriously, drink it before you sleep.

Buenas noches.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:03 AM

SLATTY not slutty! I’m sorry Grace. You’re not slutty. Your a sweetie. Sweet Grace. Who eats worms.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:04 AM

Slat! Slatty killer of a worm named Slimey, and he didn’t even get to tell me his name. Bev had to tell me!

Poldark was my broody love until Dylan starting whispering sweet French words into ears while making love then I was lost!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:05 AM

Nightie night Jan!!

Bev! Thank you!!! My friend. Always looking out for me. Night night!!!

Tessa July 2, 2016 at 1:05 AM

This is beyond entertaining. Dylan is awesome. He’s almost as good as Kellan. Same emotions!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:06 AM

Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Amy! I’m a worm killer I have no shame! Drink your water and sweet dreams!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 1:07 AM

Jan (formerly known as Jan130) have a tequila and settle in….bedtime isnt for another 8 hours at least for us!!

PS: im glad all the name changing has been sorted…I couldnt keep up.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:07 AM

Dylan is gonna make me cry isn’t he???

I’m gonna end up spotty.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:07 AM

Splotchy I mean. From stress. Dylan stress.

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 1:07 AM

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:08 AM

Jellaba killed me.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:09 AM

How did Kellan become Jellaba???

And what the hell is Jellaba??

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:10 AM

KELLAN killed me. Made my tummy hurt and made me splotchy.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:11 AM

Well Lisa I’m not sure about tequila. I could go a glass (or two) of New Zealand Sauv Blanc, though.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:11 AM

Dylan does nothing wrong! NOTHING! It’s all her. IT IS ALL HER!!!!

Shingles, you could get the shingles!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:14 AM

Shingles? Oh no those look awful. And Id need to drink morer to stop the ouchies.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:14 AM

What the hell IS Jellaba? I was wondering the same thing. (Thought it was just those watermelon martinis…..)

Maybe someone could write a book about Jellaba? He could be one of those hot bad boy taboo stepbrother MC club baseball player military rock stars we so love.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:15 AM

Jan needs a sign for her name like prince.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:15 AM

What the hell am I supposed to read now?????

Slimey can’t tell me. He can’t tell any of us anything anymore. And he was WISE! Hiccup.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:17 AM

And he’s a billionaire who loves bdsm and has walls up and fights mma and his demons!!!

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:17 AM

Grace, did you read Tastes Like Candy yet? And it’s only a couple of days till Moonshot. Hang in there sista.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:18 AM

I’ve got a sign for my name – it’s that funny pink avatar with one eye and one leg. I love him. (her???)

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:18 AM

Grace says Jellaba has a slimey worm. And she’s a worm eater. Lol!!!!

Jellaba keeps popping up in my auto corrct.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:19 AM

Totally a her.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:19 AM

I’m so getting banned

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:21 AM

Yeah Amy. Jellaba may also secretly belong to a guild of hunter vampires (in his spare time). Or is he a wolf shifter?

Jellaba must actually be a real word, cos autocorrect is ignoring it. WTH???

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:24 AM

Yes! Jan! Formerly known as! Perfect! I’ll go there! Gotta do Snow in Texas first because I have issues, but I’ll go fast and get to Tastes Like Candy really quick!

Tequila and bikers! Totally makes up for the fact that I’ve gotta do laundry right now! (It is mid-day Saturday and all)

Thank you Jan! Poldark just called and said he misses you and he’s rushing over to give you some good loving for being so brilliant!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:25 AM

I’m totally cackling right now. And autocorrect loves me finally.

Jellaba is a hybrid fallen angel vampire fae wolf shifter who wants to be like barrons.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:26 AM

Barrons is so hot. Hiccup.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:28 AM

Waves bottle at Amy.

Sings – He gives me fever!

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:29 AM

Fever when he kiss me

Fever when he holds me tight

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:29 AM

Grace, I found Snow In Texas was nothing special. Yeah Colin is Felix’s brother so naturally, pretty hot, but he has issues and isn’t my fav character. I found this story a bit flat. But I FLOVED Tastes Like Candy. My rec is go straight to that and catch up on the back story of Colin later. (Unless you’re a strict ‘must read in order’ person). Candyman OMGEEEEEE!!!!!

(Hey Poldark babeeeee. Come in, come in to my parlour. Mwah hah hah…)

Tessa July 2, 2016 at 1:29 AM

I am apparently a nerd. I saw Jellaba and thought of Jaba the Hut.

Oh finally found something good. One of Michelle’s or Amy’s freebies, Dark Hope. The blurb about it sucked and really made it seem like it’d suck, but I saw Devil and was like, meh, maybe some angst? THAT BLURB IS NOTHING LIKE THE BOOK! I was riveted throughout the whole thing. I had 10% left of power and two percent left of the book, and I kept reading.

Though, if the blurb didn’t suck so much, I might have expected more. Who knows?

Tessa July 2, 2016 at 1:30 AM

Fever, in the morning
Fever all through the night.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:30 AM

Oh yeah, Barrons, haven’t thought about him in ages……… :-D

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:34 AM

Dark hope and devils. I’m gonna have bad dreams now. Devils scare me.

But Barrons is yummy.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 1:35 AM

Every body’s got the fever!!!!!!!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:35 AM

Ok Jan formerly! I’m taking that advice. The tequila has set me free! I’m going out of order! This is a big deal. Maybe it’s Slimey helping break free. Maybe now that I ate him he’s like my Spirit Animal. Helping me skip to book two cause it’s better!

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:36 AM

Live dangerously and read ‘em out of order, Grace. You go, girl.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:37 AM

Damn, now I’ve got that FEVER song stuck in my head………..

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:41 AM

*pours a second glass of sauv blanc* (or SUAVE blanc as autocorrect tried to say!!!)

*puts feet up and relaxes, taking a suave sip of wine*

Hubby is making dinner tonight….. :-)

Grace July 2, 2016 at 1:51 AM

Drops blanket, stands up in bed, tries not to spill the tequila and shakes her butt singing:

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream

Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream

The Candy Man, the Candy Man can

The Candy Man can ’cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

Yes, the Candy Man can ’cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good

Ahhh! Ha Ha Ha! Tequila makes that sound so dirty!!! Later Dylan baby, I gotta go. Candy man is calling!

Stops shaking and starts moving slow and sultry hugging the bottle of tequila then sings:

I smell sex and candy, here
Who’s that lounging in my chair
Who’s that casting devious stares
In my direction
Mama this surely is a dream

Falls to bed hysterical!

Jan July 2, 2016 at 1:59 AM

LOL Grace. But hey, Candyman is a bit dirty. Just the way we like it. (ahem)

Now dear, just settle down and take a few deep breaths.

*slides a tall glass of water towards Grace* No more tequila for you!

Grace July 2, 2016 at 2:17 AM

*Giggles. Gives big eyes to Jan. Shakes head yes. Drinks the water.*

Stage Whispers: They are all sleeping Jan! You told them nighty nights!

Yells: Laundry Time!

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 2:41 AM

I totally agree with Jan…skip Snow and go straight for Candyman Grace. He almost stole Deke’s MC book bf spot!!

What Sav blanc are we drinking Jan? NZ? If youre partial to a sav blanc try Coriole’s Chenin Blanc from here in McLaren Vale…its really crisp.

Grace July 2, 2016 at 2:51 AM

Done ladies! My Mama didn’t raise no fool. I’m in it! And it’s not short! I’m really excited about that. Only 6% in so far so I’m not much past first meeting the heroine yet, but I like her! Bodes well! ;)

Lisa July 2, 2016 at 2:54 AM

Ok. Im off to dinner, wine and music at the Market Shed on Holland….yay.
Over and out.

Paula July 2, 2016 at 3:50 AM

You lot make me laugh! I go to bed and wake up to 168 notifications! Looks like you will all be hungover in the morning – whenever it is morning in your time zone!

Jan July 2, 2016 at 3:52 AM

Sounds yum, Lisa. I’ll keep an eye out for the chenin blanc. Enjoy your dinner.

Wish right now I was just reading Tastes Like Candy for the first time like you, Grace. I’m already jonesing for the next book in the series.

Just sitting’ and watchin’ the federal election results rollin’ in. I live in a safe conservative seat so no surprises here. but for the overall result, this could be a long night.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 3:53 AM

(Australian federal election, that is)

Grace July 2, 2016 at 4:16 AM

Oh God! I couldn’t do it! I had too many questions. I was confused. I didn’t know who I was supposed to already know and who I wasn’t. It wore me down.

*hangs head in shame*

I’ll just read Snow In Texas real fast and then enjoy Tastes Like Candy so much more. I’ll let you know how much I’m enjoying Candyman when I get there. In the meantime, this is all flowing nicely for me now, and everything new is getting nicely explained and described to me.

Jan July 2, 2016 at 4:29 AM

No need to hang your head in shame. However you want to read it is right. Just if you find Snow a bit slow, keep in mind Candy is much better. Don’t give up!

bev July 2, 2016 at 7:28 AM
bev July 2, 2016 at 7:31 AM

Oh, politics.

*bounces on Amy’s bed*

C’mon Amy wake up! Let’s talk politics.

*bounces some more*

Grace July 2, 2016 at 7:32 AM

Ha Ha Ha! Did you click on the pronunciation on that link Bev! I was not expecting it to sound like that! LOL!

Jean July 2, 2016 at 10:21 AM

Grace…..omg, your rant had me hysterical and now even more anxious to read Forget. Starting it at some point today though! All you guys are so damn funny! Took me so long to catch up on all the comments from last night (early this morning)! Enjoy your weekend ladies!

Shei'tani July 2, 2016 at 10:59 AM

I guess I missed the drunken fun last night, er, this morning. Why does the Jellaba have to be Fae? Don’t mess with my Fae. Politics Bev? Oh no no no no. We best not go there. And Grace! I’m still dying laughing over that rant. It did make me go and check out that book though. I prefer my guys to be the jerks, not the girls. And I, too, liked Tastes Like Candy way better than Snow in Texas. I am not sure I even finishes Snow. But Candyman…. yum.

There’s a mosquito IN MY HOUSE and it has bitten me 4x. How many times can these buggers bite you? Don’t they die or something?

I started Playing With Monsters. He’s such an @$$, but I am not sure it’s a lovable @$$ like Ryder or Barrons. She may have tried too hard and made him actually unlikable. We shall see. I will keep going.

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM

OH MAN! I am still Shei’tani. It’s ME – MichelleS – see what you all went and did?

Amy July 2, 2016 at 11:01 AM

*groans and holds head*

Bev…Bev…BEV!! *whimpers* It’s too early for jumping on the bed. Too early. Also for politics.

*pulls covers over head*

Amy July 2, 2016 at 11:08 AM

*peeks out*

Mosquito? No no no no…

*hides back under covers*

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:13 AM

Who is author of Blur? becuase nothing on Amazon sounds like it’s the same book that has Grace in a tizzy.

bev July 2, 2016 at 11:14 AM

C’mon Amy, wake up.

Off to get ready to go get some coffee myself. And probably a 1000 calories pastry of some sort.
Join me.

Jean July 2, 2016 at 11:16 AM

MichelleS, NA Alcorn. It’s the 2nd book to Forget which really had Grace freaking out!

Haha…you guys are all hungover after your party last night!

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:17 AM

Oh. I think I found it. It’s the second book in the Changing Colors series? Dang it. That means I would have to read TWO books!! ARGH.

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:19 AM

OUCH! I seriously think that little blood-sucker just bit me AGAIN. It might be your worm – the zombie worm – reincarnated.

I want a 1000 calorie pastry. I’ll join you in a cup of coffee and go find something sweet. Going to make my “Brexit” and be right back…. (snicker…. you got your politics Bev).

bev July 2, 2016 at 11:33 AM

Jan started the political discussion, lol.

Pancakes also sound good…..Decisions.

Jean July 2, 2016 at 11:36 AM

MichelleS, read it with me and Amy this weekend!

bev July 2, 2016 at 11:37 AM

Don’t do it, MichelleS.

Jean July 2, 2016 at 11:39 AM

Bev, you make me laugh so hard!

bev July 2, 2016 at 11:39 AM

Remember BW Monday, time tba, be there or be square.

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:41 AM

Don’t do what? Read Forget and Blur? or eat the pastry? or talk about politics?

I found a Toaster Strudel that said best by April 2016. I’m going for it. It has 30% more icing! How freezer burnt could it be?

Bev – did you read Forget and Blur? is it a death book? Someone better tell me if it’s a death book.

bev July 2, 2016 at 11:46 AM

Oh, no, definitely eat the pastry.

Jean July 2, 2016 at 11:46 AM

It’s not a death book that I know of! Bev, why? Stop bullying MichelleS! Lol! Maybe Bev should join us and step out of her box. Well, what do you think?

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 11:47 AM

BW Monday – yes – I’ll be there. Is it season two? season one? I would need to start from the beginning.

Amy July 2, 2016 at 11:58 AM

Omg you guys…shhhhhhhh! Not so loud.

Hubby went to get donuts at this amazing place that puts Krispy Kreme to shame. But I would SO eat that pastry, MichelleS. Just for the 30% more icing. It’s best by April of THIS year, not last year. You’re golden. ;)

And yes…read Forget/Blur with us. It’s not a death club book. Stop it, Bev.

Now hubby wants to go furniture shopping. Because of course.

And how are you so chipper right now, Jean?!?

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:05 PM

She didn’t eat the worm.

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:07 PM

Season 1, episode 1.

Jean, you should join us.

Paula July 2, 2016 at 12:16 PM

Not seen Poldark but it has Aiden Turner in it…sigh. Liked him since he was in the UK version of Being Human – well worth a watch too! Love the Irish accent!!

Jean July 2, 2016 at 12:18 PM

Ha bev! Maybe I will join you. I never heard of it so have to look it up.

Amy, I’m not hungover. And at the marina enjoying the 83 degree weather and boating! Yay me!

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 12:18 PM

Furniture shopping? I love furniture shopping. My hubby hates it. Yours is a keeper!!!

We have a local donut place that puts bacon on top of their donuts and a maple glaze. OMG. Death by donut.

I’m hoping Bev will tell me why I shouldn’t read Forget/Blur, because they sound like my kind of books. I watched Sherlock, Bev. I read Carry On and Simon vs Homosapien’s Agenda, Dumplin’, WiR, E&P, Deeper, Chicago Stars… let’s see… what else? I trust you, ok?? OKAY? So tell me why!!!

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:27 PM

Sorry. Lol. No reason why, promise. Haven’t read either of them.
Amy, asked Jean to br them yesterday and I was just teasing telling Jean not to do it. Then saw Jean asked you. Sorry.
Wow, that is a list. That is so nice if you.
Amy, didn’t watch Sherlock.

bev July 2, 2016 at 12:32 PM

Paula, join us. :)

MichelleS July 2, 2016 at 12:41 PM

It took me forever to scroll down. Can we move to Friday’s post yet? Are we trying to get to 1000 comments?

Tessa July 2, 2016 at 12:58 PM

MichelleS, I adored Lucian by the end. I can honestly say that. Stuff just happened and my heart ached because of it.

Maryse July 2, 2016 at 3:12 PM

LOL MichelleS!!! I laugh each time I see the comment # on this one. :P

Maryse July 2, 2016 at 3:14 PM

Mmmmmmmm donuts. I LOVE DONUTS more than cake and cupcakes and chocolate. And all things. DONUTS. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Jan July 2, 2016 at 7:19 PM

Aaah. Good morning everyone from Australia. Hope there aren’t too many hangovers from that crazy, crazy night crew. Wow, that’s a LOT of comments here. Might be time to move over to Friday’s thread.

Welp, I’ve been for a brisk walk this morning to walk off the crumpets with honey I had for brekky. Not quite in the same league as maple bacon doughnuts (WTAH??) Or past-date-extra-icing-freezer-toaster-strudel LOL, Shei’tani. But still. BTW you can change your names back if you must, but from here on in I’m stickin’ with plain Jan. Jan130 is no longer an entity :-0

Politics, Bev? It’s pretty crazy here in Aus. The election yesterday was so close it’s still undecided. Coming down to postal votes. We may not know who our Prime Minister will be for several days. It could even be a ‘hung parliament’ (no side with a majority) which could even lead to another election. Crazy days. there’s your politics.

Enjoy Poldark……..

Ela July 3, 2016 at 9:31 AM

123 check, 123… Who am I now?

Elzbieta July 3, 2016 at 9:32 AM

Checking again

Elzbieta July 3, 2016 at 9:33 AM

Oh cool! Maryse ! I can be 2 people!

R. Renee July 3, 2016 at 9:34 AM

You just have to add salt to the wound, don’t you Elzbieta?? ;)

Ela July 3, 2016 at 9:57 AM

Oh pahleaze R! No salt here! It’s all sugar baby!

Amy July 3, 2016 at 10:46 AM

Elzbieta?? Try Beezlebub… :P

Amy July 3, 2016 at 10:49 AM

Maryse…DONUTS!! Last year Krispy Kreme had donuts filled with cake batter and brownie batter…they were SINFUL!!! And the fillings really did taste like batter!

Ela July 3, 2016 at 11:12 AM

Amy July 3, 2016 at 12:21 PM

OMG Ela…is that really your name??

I’m going to feel horrible if it is and I just made a joke about it…

Tessa July 3, 2016 at 12:48 PM

*is eating doughnuts*

Ela, is that your real name?

Ela July 3, 2016 at 12:49 PM

Um yeah it is.

Ela July 3, 2016 at 12:50 PM

It’s basically Elizabeth in Polish…

bev July 3, 2016 at 1:06 PM

Amy, I didn’t read that as making fun of the name, but that you were calling Ela the devil.

Ela, how do you pronounce?
I’m reading it like

Elzzz bee eta

I’m doing sounds like cause I can never make sense of pronunciation marks. That’s with a hard t.

Amy July 3, 2016 at 3:19 PM

Really, Bev? I hope so because I feel awful right thinking Ela might have taken it the wrong way. :?

Ela? Here’s some rocky road brownies…and some peanut butter brownies…and some Nutella brownies…and…and…and…here’s a fruity martini made with pear vodka and green apple vodka.

*scoots over next to Ela* Still friends?

R. Renee July 3, 2016 at 3:33 PM

*drop kicks Ela, swipes martinis* thanks Amy!!!

bev July 3, 2016 at 3:37 PM

Wait. You did what to Ela???

I want Rocky Road Brownies.

Tessa July 3, 2016 at 6:44 PM

Actually… *cold cocks R* My martini.

R. Renee July 3, 2016 at 6:48 PM

Good try Tessa, but that martini is long gone!! It was yummy too. Amy needs to make more!

bev July 3, 2016 at 7:34 PM

Forget the D & D club. You all started a fight club.

Tessa July 3, 2016 at 8:12 PM

*pouty face*

Jan July 3, 2016 at 8:33 PM

Ladies! No, no, no. No need to get aggro! No fighting allowed. Now, kiss and make up. Or shake hands at least.

Jan July 3, 2016 at 8:36 PM

BTW Ela, I love your actual name! My ‘Janet’ is pretty dull in comparison. Elzbieta is romantic with a touch of the exotic. As a dreamy little girl I always wanted a name like yours. Oh well, so be it….. Jan I am.

Ela July 4, 2016 at 12:36 AM

Thanks Amy for the brownies! Yum! Give me back my delicious martini you goons!

It’s rather difficult for me to try to write-pronounce it…

R. Renee July 4, 2016 at 12:38 AM

Seriously Ela? You really think there’s martinis left?

Maryse July 5, 2016 at 9:04 AM

OMG Amy.

Donuts AND BATTER all in one?

My sister just asked me where we can get a Krispy Kreme donut because she’s dying to try one, and I was all… er… in a gas station? LOL!!! We have no bakeries near me, and I think we had a BIG AWESOME one in Tampa, but I think they closed down. *sigh*

Maryse July 5, 2016 at 9:05 AM

I like your dual personalities, Ela! :P

Amy July 5, 2016 at 7:21 PM

A gas station donut?!? Oh no, Maryse…no, no, no, no, NO.

We need to find you a good donut shop. Good donuts are worth the drive. ;)

And yes…cake batter and brownie batter inside of donuts. I swear my mouth had an orgasm. How’s that for a visual you probably didn’t want? LOL!!
