And then just in a few days, one of my newest favorite books in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD is going live and I’m SO jealous of anyone that gets to read it for the first time. The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson (my review) <— Yes. It’s one of those!!! 😀 Eeeeeeeeeep! Just a couple of days left for that one. OH I CANNOT WAIT FOR YOU GUYS TO READ IT!!!!!
So what looks extra good to me today? Oh well that one up there to the left (of course!!). Stripped Bare (Second chance romance with a single mom/stripper in Vegas and the guy that once broke her heart that promises to pay all her debts… IF she’s his for awhile…), Beach Wedding (the Eversea series finale!!! I love that series!), Beauty and the Book Boyfriend (she’s a reclusive author that never expected to get so popular, and now her publisher wants to her go on tour), The Fourteen Day Soul Detox (this one sounds intense!!! Her husband died and left her with incredible debt, and she’s turned to his best friend…), Kiss Marry Kill: Iron-Clad Security (a new one by Sidney Halston – a pop star and her bodyguard…), Surrender (KITTY THOMAS!!! I love that super-short blurb. It says just enough for me to be darkly titillated 😉 She loves him and wants a white-picket fence, and he wants her to be his slave), and Crazy Over You (Daisy Prescott’s latest!!! Her one night stand doesn’t remember her at all. *whoops* But the blurb says it so much better than I do ;)).

On one hand I love all the new names because discovery. On the other I realize, man I really haven’t been paying attention for a long while. Music gives me such joy I’m not sure why.
… Because main stream music isn’t very good right now? Country music has been stagnant too. Most alternative has been as well. It happens occasionally where the music industry will just run stagnant. Usually that means something is going to break through and sound really different. The last time was EDM, which was just, oh… Europe has had this for decades… welcome to Europe’s version of 1999!

Has anyone ever read a book that you really enjoyed, but the end, you thought, you know… this would have been so much better if one of the MC died? Like, it would have hit you harder?
Or if some really loved second character had died, it would have had more meaning? Maybe not the MC, but someone you loved in the book?

I went to the movie of Beauty and The Beast last night – the new one with Emma Watson. I LOVED it. It was beautiful. Visually stunning as well as the great music and romantic storyline.

It can totally be read as a standalone Ela, but I did read Prisoned first which gave you some insight into the darkness! The characters from Prisoned are not in the 2nd book though, and the characters from Animal were not in the first book. My mind is just totally blown from this book! Luckily I buddy read it with my friend. We both finished last night and can’t stop talking about it today!

And I’ve been into the Savannah Smiles lately
It’s very good, Tasha. Of her two books it’s the more critically acclaimed. I have a soft spot for her first book, though it probably isn’t crafted as well. But it was a right book/right mood read for me, plus the hero’s nickname for the heroine was John Lennon and they are both musicians.
But back to your book, lol. She has a very distinct writing style. Whimsical and almost magical realism.
It deals with a lot of different themes. I particularly enjoyed how the twins saw the others relationship ‘ s with the parents. Has art, mystery, romance, and grief.
LMAO sorry not clear. What book does it make you think of?
1. I reheat Starbucks cups several times throughout the day even though the cup says not to microwave.
2. I’m severely out of shape and today I decided to bite the bullet and fix that so I YouTube’d beginner stretching videos bc I forget how. And at the end I was huffing for breath, my heart was pounding, everything burned and shook. And all I did was stretch!
3. I’m all caught up on Big Little Lies, just 1 episode left, and there’s a soundtrack coming out Friday that I’m seriously considering buying.
4. I’m also googling Hollyhocks
I figured, but that was the first thing I thought of! I’ve never read it, but the cover of Luck, Love, and Lemon Pie has stuck in my mind. Since I read the Coincidence of Coconut Cake, I have a feeling this book is just as yummy. Also, Caraval bc of all the delicious, sugary descriptions. And there was at least 1 book, that I’ll never remember the name of, and a scene where they do lemon drop shots.
Honest truth. Lemon bar makes me think of A Court of Faeries. I wanted so badly to like it, but the writing made me slightly sick. (I’m allergic to lemons.)
Tessa’s Three Things
1. I hate running. Despise it. I don’t mind exercise, but I hate running. A lot.
2. I am reading Abbi Glines’ Under the Lights and am loving it. I think I know who she will end up with, but it’s a little iffy. And I so want to know her secret, but that’s being a super secret that even the audience doesn’t know.
3. I’m having Churizo and eggs burritos for dinner.
My three things:
1.) I’m right on with Tessa about running. Ugh. No. I never get those girls in the books that have to run all the time (and I’m jealous of them). Then I find out that we have a bunch of real-life runners right here in our book world. *sigh* I envy your dedication to running… but nope. I can’t even fathom.
2.) I have never had churizo but I want to so bad. It always looks soooooo good on the cooking channel.
3.) I’m growing baby lemon and orange trees (that I grew from my own seeds!). They are big and bushy now and about two feet tall. I’m so proud of them.
Oh, they’re flowers! I was thinking it was a yard game or something, lol! That would explain ‘pray for their lives’. I’ve decided not to do flowers this year, except for in the barrel. We have a border around the front and both sides full of bushes, small trees, and other greenery that I loathe to upkeep, but love the look of so this year I say no more. This past year there are at least 4 neighborhood cats that have decided to make it their litter box and my goal is to outwit them somehow. I may do stone instead of mulch, but I hate the idea of cost and no one else on the street has it so I dk..

Actually, I hadn’t read many reviews, just the 2 star one on the top. I always try not to or they’ll ruin it for me. I like to go in blind a lot of the time, most of the time I don’t even remember what it’s about and I’ll go back if I’m a little lost to read the blurb quick. But, I read most of that one you just posted, and from what you said it sounds like a keeper! As long as TOOY doesn’t put me in a fog, this’ll be next for me.

Tessa–we never did get any rain except for a few sprinkles. And don’t get me wrong, I’m very thankful–tornado months in Tennessee are NO fun, but our school system actually called off school because of the threat of bad weather and we got nothing.
