HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY TO US!!!
HOLY MOLY WHAT HAPPENED?? It’s a book explosion! If we count the audiobooks, we are over 100+ NEW RELEASES today. :D!!!
This is the biggest list in AGES. Months and months and here we are like back when we were squirreling over too many books and being tormented and thrilled that very fact. AND OMG am I squirreling hard right now.
What am I squirreling over? EASILY that one up there to the left. The Shape of Water (I haven’t seen the movie yet -and OH HOW I WANT TO), but I’m even happier now that the book just went live. I’d MUCH rather read it first. You KNOW the book is always better, right? OMG can you imagine the intensity and emotion, and I know this is going to break my heart. I JUST KNOW IT!!!! MINE!!!) Marriage of Inconvenience (Penny Reid’s latest, and I love the twist. SHE’S the billionaire that needs to get “married”), Dane’s Storm by Mia Sheridan (I LOVE Mia Sheridan and I was so excited about the sound of this one… they are the only survivors of a plane crash, stuck in the wilderness, and they are divorced. From each OTHER!!!) Eeeeeep! Well it just went live in AUDIOBOOK format, so I’m giving it a go. I just HAVE to “read/listen” to this story. Accidental Tryst (Natasha Boyd’s latest… her phone is accidentally swapped with the cocky stranger at the airport. :D!!! Oh you know that’s gonna be a fun ride 😉 ) Ruin (Samantha Towle’s latest… he’s training to be the Heavyweight Champion of the year, and she’s the dancer he left. And now she’s a stripper, and he’s back) and so many more. Keep scrolling. You’ll see. 😉 I highlight a bunch that sound just plain awesome. YAY US!!!
And then of course THESE HEAVY HITTERS that so many in our book crew have been waiting a whole year for: High Voltage: Fever, Book 10 by Karen Marie Moning, Burn Bright (Alpha and Omega) by Patricia Briggs and Lake Silence (World of the Others, The) by Anne Bishop
Nay: HIGH VOLTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought High Voltage. I’m still in love with the series–it’s still my favorite PnR. And as pissed as I was about the last one, I’m ready to finally get these two in a book together (don’t want to say who jic anyone is behind in the series.) I can’t wait!
bev: I did pre order the Briggs and Bishop.
MichelleS: KMM is up there! Squee!!! AND Briggs & Bishop! On same list! Mind blown. Pocket book blown. …Oh man! I forgot about Briggs. I’ll be hanging with the wolves after all. Briggs hasn’t let me down.
Jan: *high fives Michelle over mutual love of Patricia Briggs and especially CHARLES* Charles is so hot! Rawr!
Teri: AAArrrrooohhhhhhhhh – Anne Bishop’s The Others, one of my very, very favorites!
LET’S READ!!!! :D!!!!
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

Nay: OMG, Maryse–I just finished a read-fest with At This Moment and the following two books, which is an epic saga about a rock star and the love of his life spanning 25 years. Why am I up?? An hour until my alarm goes off.
But anyway….good morning.
LOL!!!! Good morning bev!!! 😀
*rolls out glitter cannon and confetti*
*pooooof*
There bev. Now you are so shiny!! 😀
Good morning! Wow–what a list. So many up there that I’d love to read, but I’m all about High Voltage right now. I’m already 10% in. So far, so good!!
Morning!!
Howdy!
I just snuck into the kitchen for my pre-breakfast https://www.hersheys.com/reeses/en_us/products/reeses-crunchy-cookie.html. Restistance is futile at this point. I came back and my son gives me this look…”what’s that smell?” Takes a whiff, it’s in your mouth…hahaha. I changed the subject effectively! I’m sampling Accidental Tryst right now! 🙂
Thank you.
If there is one thing I always put on before leaving the house…..its my glitter.
*snuggles bev’s glittery self*
Good morning!! Have to catch up on comments after work today and decide on next book. Missed yesterday because was shopping all day with my daughter for a prom dress. Fun and exhausting!!
Whoa!
*holds out hands to steady self*
I am dizzy from all the shinies.
I am also having a strange craving for meatloaf.
Now whose glittery, lol.
Tasha that made me laugh. It’s like they are drug sniffing dogs sometimes.
Sniff sniff.
That candy?
Sniff sniff
You got cookie breath.
Who’s not whose.
My brain is still curled up in bed.
More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer is also live.
Thank you Ela! I’m adding it. It looks great!! 😀
*looks around* who’s been sneaking in my glitter stash???
Awesome Maryse! I still have to read book 1 even though this one is standalone.
Are we doing a buddy read of The Shape of Water??? On GR?????
Nay has me super interested in At This Moment. And I had no idea Shape of the Water was a book! But to be fair, until yesterday I had no idea it was a movie either!
The author just commented on the reading order guide I posted to console us. LOL!!!!!
https://www.maryse.net/reading-order-guide/karen-cimms-of-love-and-madness-series-reading-order.html
Good morning, lovely ladies. I have missed your faces! Been out of the loop for a bit, and catching back up. What an impressive list this is!!
‘afternoon Lisa!!!! 😀 Glad you’re back. We missed you!
*giggle* I was just picturing bev’s grumpy puppy face covered in glitter as she glared at Maryse for the glitter bomb and subsequent snuggle. Heck, I woulda snuck in a snuggle as well but I wouldn’t be able to run away right now. 😛
Guyyyyyys, did anyone else struggle with Secret Lucidity? Because I am struggling…big time. 😕
Tessa…that’s awesome. Reese’s cookie cups as a pre-breakfast? Woman after my own heart.
You know, it’s just one of those “do as I say, not as I do” moments. *shrug*
lol That was Tasha, but I was envious too. If I did it and got caught I’d hear about it five years from now. 😛
*scrolls back up*
*rubs eyes*
Wow, and I’ve already cut way down on the painkillers. Maybe I should go back to sleep for a while…
But hey, Tessa…I could totally see you doing that as well. 😉
There you are Amy. I’m glad you saw….though would of been funny. Yeah, I have never even heard of that one.
I still haven’t watched the last ep.
Want to give it my full attention. And don’t worry about hurting my feelings if you end up not liking it.
I was all set to spend the day reading High Voltage and then my wonderful Dad decided to drop by and let me work on his laptop. Oh well, at least I got to spend time with him. And now I’ll have my book to keep me company tonight after everyone goes to bed! So far I’ve gotten to 15% and I’m really liking it!
Ela–I’m up for a BR after I finish High Voltage.
Amy, I could, but then five years from now Little dude would say, “Remember the other day, when I woke up and I smelled a cookie you ate, then told me not to eat cookies for breakfast?” *slams forehead to the desk repeatedly*
Ela, I’m in too. The shape of water sounds really good.
But the book At this moment by Karen Cimms. So fantastic
You read the first one and you just inhale the rest. One of the best books I’ve read. You just can’t put it down. Can you Nay!!
I might just sneak in Midnight Valentine.
Melinda–you are so right about At This Moment. I read the first one and there was NO way I couldn’t continue. And then after the second one–OMG! Like you said, I could NOT put it down.
I am super confused. I tried researching it but it didn’t help. The Shape of Water the novel came AFTER the movie?
R.
Apparently the novel came AFTER the movie. I’m not sure how Hollywood works anymore…
*shakes head*
In its favor, it’s written by one of the screenwriters, so at least it’ll be true to story and emotion, not just a junior novelization type retelling. I’ll wait on it. 14 dollars on something I’m unsure of… heck. I’m still choking on having paid that for books I adore.
I downloaded a sample but I think I’m going to skip it. I’m curious to see what everyone thinks though!
Alright… *tosses glitter* Whew, now that that’s out of the way. Hi everyone, missed you tons! I don’t know what to read. I’m not sure I trust Maryse and Amy enough to do a BR with them. *giggle*
Last time we attempted this… they left me in Gann… all by myself, do you all remember? Gah, that was… over a year ago. I think I have PTBBRAD… Post Traumatic Book Buddy Read Abandonment Disorder. *nods* It’s a thing… no really, stop laughing.
I should really finish my TJR from last month… but… IDK, I kind of want dark. Yeah, I definitely want dark. Or a bully. Or both.
Grey.
I SAID!!!!!!!!!
Elite by Rachael Van Dyken. There, a bully book. 🙂
I’ve never even heard of that before! If it were anyone else I’d think they were just trying to capitalize on the attention the film is getting, but GDT? I can’t see him doing that. He must have had more to say. Still, I think in this case the movie might just be better than the book.
I still can’t believe Maryse hasn’t tried Gann yet.
Finished The Pilot and the Puck-Up. This author is generally over-the-top and hilarious. It didn’t disappoint. (Mister McHottie is great too). So if you want over the top, with a bada$$ h, I recommend it. Ok, just one-clicked Ruin. We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow, so hopefully will be a day of reading. My daughter’s school is already cancelled. *fingers crossed on mine* 😉
Maryse and Amy, and everyone else that loves makeup, just received email for Pat McGrath new MTHRSHP eye palettes and eye liner coming out tomorrow and the 9th. I even love the packaging!
https://www.patmcgrath.com/collections/spring?utm_source=Shopify&utm_campaign=fefc60a3b6-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_03_07&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a338403ef5-fefc60a3b6-199230389&mc_cid=fefc60a3b6&mc_eid=31fc9634c9
So bizarre, I just started reading Ruin and the MC’s name is Zeus and he has a brother named Ares. It’s the same as the MC and his brother in the book I just finished -The Pilot and the Puck-Up. *weird coincidence
Time to go to bed. Instead of staying up reading one more chapter I am watching Healer scenes.
Ok, turn everything off and go to bed. Dream of what coffee flavor to order in the morning.
I just finished The Goal by Elle Kennedy yesterday. I read the other 3 in the series last year, but somehow couldn’t start The Goal. I knew it was about Sabrina and her getting pregnant, and I know it sounds weird, but usually I don’t like books, where the heroine gets pregnant or have small children. I don’t get it, because I have 3 children myself and love them more than anything. But not so much in books.
But anyway The Score really took me by surprise. It might be the best in the series. It was so much fun and easily a 5 star read for me. I would really love to see a series of the next Briar team – Fitzy, Hunter and Hollis and maybe even Brody 🙂
Awwww Grey…*covers mouth and snickers*…we left you but we left you in good hands, right? 😆 You just want to see me lose it over that book y’all are trying to tempt me to read! Have you ever seen me lose my sh!t over that sort of thing in a book? It isn’t pretty…
bev, I’m pretty sure I’ll like it because if it were a book I’d totally be drawn in by the blurb. 😉
Nothing in Hollywood makes sense to me anymore. That’s why I’ll just stick with reading, thankyouverymuch!
Cheryl! I’m loving the Subliminal Platinum Bronze palette!!
It must be too early in the morning for me to write a comment. Don’t know why I mentioned The Score in my comment above. I loved The Score, but this comment was about The Goal 🙂
I jumped in a way different direction last night, dunno why… Started The Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez. Its my ATF challenge book this month. And free…off KU!
I LOVE that one Grey. That whole duet is amazing!!!
Grey, you’ll have to let me know how emotional that one is. I’ve been a little afraid of it.
thanks for including Resisting Fate in this fab lineup!
LOVED The Darkest Sunrise. The follow up was just as good and you will wonder how she can top the first.
Every book I clicked on was over $10 today. I finally figured out the local library system sends me ebooks for nothing so been reading a few that have been on my wish list.
I need an IV of caffeine please.
I hate when I’m running so late that I spend the rest of the day wondering if I forgot something.
Like i know I brushed my teeth but did I put deodorant on.
I need some mega-coffee too. It was a tossy-turny night. *sigh* I bet I could sleep like a baby now, though. Doesn’t that figure?
Yeah, right before my alarm went off I fell into a deep sleep. Then kept hitting snooze, which good thing min is only like 4 minutes. Though in the moment I hate it.
I just want to close my eyes sooo bad. Lol.
I think the sleep fairy is crop-dusting us with insomnia glitter.
Grrrrr!!
P.S. See what I did there? Crop dusting. 😉 *snort*
*giggle* *tosses K-cups* see I’m trying to counteract Maryse’s cropdusting today… 😆
LOL!
So that’s what woke me up…..fairies were farting on me.
I wonder how many times I’ve blamed it on my dog.
Ugh. A fairy just farted on me too. Guess I better get out of bed and hunt down a Diet Coke.
LOL bev & R!!!!
Well, at least it’s the sleep fairy doing the cropdusting this time. *snort*
It must be going around today ’cause I’m worn out and just want to sleep, too.
Nay, you must be a superwoman to have been able to endure a heart transplant and then the recovery all while being so positive. You. Are. Amazing!!
*tosses container of deodorant to bev*
I’m still in awe of her.
And thanks. I appreciate that.
Nay is pretty awesome huh?
I also love how she called us her “book family”.
I heart my book family.
I heart my book family too, Leslie M.
*group hug*
I’m already in bed in pajamas and gonna read until I fall asleep. Falling asleep isn’t the issue though. It’s STAYING asleep.
My curse. Grrrrr.
But all that to say, I’m cozy and I love being a book worm. Best. Time. Ever. 🙂
Yeh, just half- day school today. Now home and watching the snow coming down!
Bev, that’s why I keep a toothbrush and deodorant in my desk drawer!
Amy, I love them too and the names- Telepathic Taupe, Sextrovert, Ritualistic, Deep Velvet Platinize and Smoke and Mirrors. Neutrals with some glam!
Now to grab some coffee and my kindle! 🙂
Oh, wow—I was just telling my son how tired I am today because my sleep has been so crappy the last couple of nights.
What sweet words from y’all! Believe me, it’s just prayer, the encouragement and love of friends and family and wanting to LIVE! This may sound silly, but it also crossed my mind more than once that I didn’t want to miss the next season of Outlander or the next book in the Fever series! lol You’ll feel better soon, Amy!
Btw, my sons cropdust all the time. They think it’s SO hilarious!
I’m right behind you Maryse.
Well, not right behind you.
That would be scary.
Though all I’d do is make you and Hobbit watch k dramas with me until I fell asleep.
So….it would be awkward.
Scary and awkward.
Yeah, it’s ok. I’m not in Florida.
LOL bev!!!
I just read that… I like creepy scary and awkward. Like… on the screen. But especially not behind me.
OMG Bev!! YOU. CRACK. ME. UP!!!!!
Just spit my water all over my laptop.
Have to say I have the same issue. No, not standing behind you, standing behind Maryse; just staying asleep.
LOL.
I standing there with my iPad full of dramas.
You standing behind me with Barry the snake.
*snorts hot tea through nose*
*grabs tummy because it still hurts to laugh*
As much as I hate being tired after not sleeping well, I like (ONCE in a while) waking up around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and reading for an hour or two until I fall back to sleep.
Yes, it IS good to be a book worm. 😉
That is the only good thing about being awake- reading time.
No, just no. I don’t go near Barry the snake. That would be scary.
*grins* I missed a lot today. Wait! I missed a snuggle fest! *huggles with Nay and all* I’m glad all is going well Nay. And I promise, I won’t sleep behind any of you. 0.0
So… Bev, uh… I started Lake Silence because, well, it was CALLING ME! I blame the cover. *nods* It’s obviously bespelled and magically sucked me in. *nods alot* *No, more than that! ALOT*
MORNING BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!!!!
THIS IS MY SONG THIS MORNING>>>>
https://youtu.be/eByeMhNe-U8
ENJOY xoxoxoxoxo
LMAO
So you like it?
I read a review and on the romance front (Or potential romance) she said no clear idea.
I’m curious if she will introduce different types of others.
You know what? There is a HUGE potential there between the MC and another character whom I liked but it wasn’t something that was pursued. It would have been odd if it was. My favorite thing, though, was the “others” world and how the MC reacted to it. I honestly loved the story and really want to stay in Lake Silence. I was so sad it ended and I refused to read anything else last night.
Kooloo, *grins* That was seriously odd. I do like the song though.
FLT:
There was a place in Axe’s life for masks.
Blood Vow by J.R. Ward
Trying to get caught up on BDB and BDB Legacy for the release of Dearest Ivie and The Thief!
Oh, I forgot about Thursday!
And, reading, the first line for chapter one is kind of a revealer if you haven’t read the last two books. So… No FLT. I’m reading High Voltage by Karen Marie Moning. Oh, and the first line makes me smile like this 😀
I couldn’t breathe. ~ The Brightest Sunset (book 2 of The Darkest Sunset Duet) by Aly Martinez
Sorry… I meant, The Darkest *Sunrise* Duet….
FLT:
The ring of my phone startled me as I was mindlessly scrolling through photos online.
Gentleman Nine by Penelope Ward
Not sure what I’m reading next. Maybe Spark or Midnight Valentine. Trying to stay with KU books.
Just finished Ruin. So I’ll use that as my FLT:
That feeling…when the music is pumping, the bass pounding the floor beneath your feet, vibrating up your body…there’s nothing like it.
Ruin by Samantha Towle. Good second chance romance. A little redundant and slow at first. The writing improved as it went on.
Also forgot to say I used the first line of chapter one instead of the prologue because it was more interesting.
*grins* Alright, that ended up being really good. It was a pure Dani book, and honestly, I haven’t enjoyed one that much since maybe Iced? It really was good and ended with an HFN, no CH, but you know there is more to come.
