HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY!!! The last big one of the month, and we’re at 100+ again!! I’ve already picked out quite a few that have made my TBR list, and in fact, a few of ‘em are from that totally risqué “bargain” section. *blush*

Okay so which ones gave me blurb-jolts today? Oh this was an EASY list to make because SO many sound so good to me! Like… When It’s Real (Erin Watt’s latest, and she becomes the FAKE girlfriend of a pop star – this is gonna be gooooood!!!), The Way Back Home (a new one from Carmen Jenner, and he’s a severely wounded military hero now taking care of his 4 year old sister. MY HEART!!!), Shacking Up (Helena Hunting’s latest, and it sounds like it’s going to be hilarious!! She kisses a stranger, and then he makes her so sick, she loses out on an audition, and she’s broke and homeless and needs a job, and manages to find one… as a live-in pet sitter, and realizes it’s living with that VERY stranger!!), Caveman (single dad that is an utter rude JERK!!! YAY!!! I hope he’s hard to love for a long time, so we really have to work for it), Defy (another one that is loaded in forbidden, but the heroine’s voice had my jaw dropping in that blurb. ;) ), and Adrift (oh yeah!!! This one just tugs at my heart strings. She’s pregnant and on the run from her psycho financee, and he’s ex military that just got out of prison… and happens to be her new neighbor). Oh and!!! Little White Lie (she’s supposed to marry someone else, but she’s falling hard for a famous rock star…) MINE!!!! :D Don’t all of these sound awesome??

Oh and don’t forget to check out yesterday’s ➔ 14 Earlybird Book Releases (loaded in favorite-author awesomeness, including a new one from Kristen Proby, Kelly Elliott, Kim Karr, K.M. Golland, and more!!)

P.P.S. What is it with all of the student-teacher risqué taboo romances that are all of the sudden on super-sale right now? They are ruling the bargain list below. Tee hee! :P

P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

Good Morning and great list! I’m reading American Hellhound by Lauren Gilley. Ghost & Maggie’s story!! WOW! It is really good and everything you could have hoped it would be!! Going to make my list of best of 2017.

Tessa May 30, 2017 at 9:33 AM

*collapses* Today is a good book day. I’ll get White Hot probably on Fri. :) Then there’s all those happy KU books that are glaring at me like Storm (I did enjoy the first book) and With a Prince looks good enough to go back and read the first, Last Dance. Also, Persuasion by Jasmine Eve was released today. :D

I’m still re-reading Rhapsodic so I can start A Strange Hymn. At this point, of course I remember everything, but it’s so good, I just want to enjoy the re-read.

Nay May 30, 2017 at 9:40 AM

Michelle!! Haven’t seen you on the GR threads and it’s almost first of the month and time for pick’n!

Ela May 30, 2017 at 9:47 AM

Ela May 30, 2017 at 12:14 PM

AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That cat OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robyn May 30, 2017 at 1:52 PM

American Hellhound is definately a 5 star read of 2017! Loved Maggie and Ghost, plus all the new characters introduced. I can’t wait for their books.

bev May 30, 2017 at 2:35 PM

That’s awesome. ROLF.

bev May 30, 2017 at 2:39 PM

I’ll have you know I’ve given like 5 hugs today.
So there.

R. Renee May 30, 2017 at 2:42 PM

I’ve been like super busy and just peeking in here and there, but all writing comes to a screeching halt when bev starts talking hugs…

What, pray tell, are you hugging, bev?

bev May 30, 2017 at 2:54 PM

I spend my days with the 3 and under crowd. As much as I tell them not to they insist hugs and cuddles are important.

Amy May 30, 2017 at 3:18 PM

*melts out of chair and onto floor*

Leslie M May 30, 2017 at 3:31 PM

Bev?? Bev!!!!! Are you in there?

Did aliens invade Bev’s body and steal her soul???

Grey May 30, 2017 at 4:12 PM

Awwww…. bev is hugging the wee cherubs… why do I have this image of Jensen Ackles *boom pregnant* in my head right now? *giggle*

I have to go back to work tomorrow… pout.

Don’t forget to sign up for the challenges if you’re in, and rate the ones you’ve read from May!

Tessa May 30, 2017 at 4:15 PM

You have the image of Jensen Ackles because he’s Jensen Ackles. No other words needed.

Ela May 30, 2017 at 4:24 PM

It’s official, bev has become the huggles convert!

Ela May 30, 2017 at 4:26 PM

Oh! He’s pretty! Never heard of him before, though.

Amy May 30, 2017 at 5:14 PM

Oh no…nuh-uh. Even if bev lets little ones hug her it doesn’t mean we should try. I learned my lesson. ;)

And don’t sneak attack hug her either. Poor bev might have a heart attack…

Tessa May 30, 2017 at 5:31 PM

Ela, he plays Dean Winchester on Supernatural. Add that pretty with an alpha personality that is insanely loyal, street smart, super broken, saves the world for a living, snarky, womanizing, and has odd likes (a show like Grey’s Anatomy called Dr. Dreamy) well… *swoons* He’s the series of the series.

Tessa May 30, 2017 at 5:33 PM

Series? I said sexiest. WTF autocorrect?

bev May 30, 2017 at 6:14 PM

That would so be us. Me all tired and quiet in the corner you all energetic and jumping.

Maryse May 30, 2017 at 6:28 PM

*snuggles bev*

Pretend I’m 3, ‘kay? :)

*bats eyelashes at her*

Jan May 30, 2017 at 6:40 PM

*snorts coffee over bev memes*

*wipes coffee off keyboard…AGAIN* This is getting to be a habit.

I’m reading and loving American Hellhound too. Just taking my time and enjoying it. Not sure whether it’ll take top place over my fav Tastes Like Candy. But maybe…… we’ll see. It’s pretty damn good.

What a great list today Maryse. *huggles Maryse* Something for everyone. And I love that you are including HRs. *quickly clicks on samples of bridgertons and merely a marriage* I understand Jo Beverley passed away from cancer last year and this is her last ever novel that she wrote. Very sad. A much-loved HR author.

*clicks on samples of half-sac and the new Olivia Cunning* Half-sac is a TERRIBLE book title IMO but I do like a cute footballer so *shrugs* These two books look pretty saucy!

Melanie May 30, 2017 at 6:50 PM

Ugh Dean Koontz pushed back until the 20th? I’m just going to let Jensen Ackles entertain me until then!

bev May 30, 2017 at 7:16 PM

Cause that’s not weird.

*side eyes Maryse*

D.G. May 30, 2017 at 7:39 PM

Hello!!!!! *jumping around and waving*
Just got to say that I have fallen for the Sinners of Saint boys. Vicious and Dean are two of my favorite bad boys. Vicious such a total bully. Dean, poor Dean not the best communicator at times. But I just loved the way he loved her! I can’t wait to read Trent’s story….

Amy May 30, 2017 at 7:59 PM

“Pretend I’m 3, ‘kay?” <—— *snort* That's one way to finagle a hug out of bev. :P

*hands paper towels to Jan* I couldn't resist that second meme…"SWEET JESUS!" LOL!!!!

Amy May 30, 2017 at 8:05 PM

Half-Sac?!? Oh my…poor guy…just…I can’t…blahahahaha!!!

OH! I found us a book on sale that sounds like it could be full of cringeworthy moments and possibly some fun drama…The Trouble With Lexie by Jessica Anya Blau is 1.99. How fun does that one sound??

bev May 30, 2017 at 8:40 PM

He is very handsome. However I’m not sure what we have in common, lol.

bev May 30, 2017 at 8:41 PM

And no I’m never wearing a shirt that invites hugs.

Jan May 30, 2017 at 8:59 PM

*takes paper towel from Amy* Thanks.

The rouble With Lexie is only available on audible on Oh well, my tbr is already LONG ENOUGH.

Tessa May 30, 2017 at 10:21 PM

He was mentioned. His shirt says he wuvs hugs. I’d say your romance was inevitable, but um.. mine. (Alright, he’s married, but I can pretend, right?)

Maryse May 30, 2017 at 10:30 PM

*huggles Jan back*

I had no idea about Jo Beverley… how bittersweet for this novel being her last.

Leslie M May 31, 2017 at 6:56 AM

Fave May read:

The Dirty Billionaire trilogy by Meghan March. 4.5****

The title, covers and blurb ALL are awful, but series was great! Sexy, swoony and just enough angst to keep it interesting.

I absolutely LOVED the narration.

Tasha J May 31, 2017 at 8:58 AM

Hey, all! I’m currently reading the 7th book in the Charley Davidson series, finally! I so need to catch up with this and I’d been putting it off too long. I’m really looking forward to next weeks new releases- Taylor Jenkins- Reid, Dating You/Hating You, The Weight of Lies by Emily Carpenter, and I also pre-ordered this gem! My very first purchase with my new gift card, yay! It’s a little nerve racking, trying to restrain myself from click, click, clicking like a feen. I want to try and actually read a book before I purchase more, but it’s oh so tempting!

Tasha J May 31, 2017 at 9:06 AM

I just randomly checked Katherine Allred’s page and she said this on May 17th: “It’s almost done, ya’ll. I just saw the first draft of the new Sweet Gum Tree cover. It’s a single tree. On the bottom the cover is black. Behind the trunk is a golden sunset. Behind and above the leaves is a deep blue sky. It’s really gorgeous. Can’t wait until I can show it to you.” EEEP!! :D

Ela May 31, 2017 at 9:18 AM

Amy? Geez what a quick sale, it’s back to 9.99

bev May 31, 2017 at 9:27 AM

I can’t believe we are halfway through the year. Crazy

White Hot is so fun. Don’t want to put it down for work.

Ela May 31, 2017 at 9:36 AM

Hev bev are those a trilogy with cliffies?

Grey May 31, 2017 at 10:18 AM

Amy, I hate to be the bearer of bad news…. But according to Amazon, TSHoEH is scheduled for release 6/13/17…

Also, The Tutor by K. Larsen goes live on 6/5/17…

wow, the last day of the month, I’ve gotta start thinking of what my favorite read in May was.

R. Renee May 31, 2017 at 10:19 AM

I only finished one book in May so good thing it’s my favorite

Sugar & Gold, Emma Scott.

Leslie M May 31, 2017 at 10:28 AM

Sugar & Gold would also be a great name for a bakery. It makes me think of decadent treats!

R. Renee May 31, 2017 at 10:29 AM

Me too Leslie…but er…maybe not *bakery treats*

Leslie M May 31, 2017 at 10:30 AM

Oooh, like Seduction & Snacks. Part bakery, part sex toy shop! Hee hee

R. Renee May 31, 2017 at 10:32 AM

I like the way you think!

Leslie M May 31, 2017 at 10:34 AM

I could really go for a giant muffin right now. The kind with all the big fat sugar on top.

Amy May 31, 2017 at 10:59 AM

Ooh, I’m picturing the macaroons we picked up in Seattle which were dusted with edible gold glitter. They were GORGEOUS!!

Oh no Grey! Now I’m sad. But at least The Tutor makes up for the disappointment. *sigh*

Tessa May 31, 2017 at 11:18 AM

Ela, they aren’t CH books. They are HFN books.

Tessa May 31, 2017 at 11:33 AM

Alright, best book of the month, easily A Court of Wings and Ruin. It beat out Silence Fallen, Fallen Crest Forever, and A Strange Hymn!

Speaking of Strange Hymn… OMG. So good. I’m glad I jumped into it as soon as I did. All of you PNR fans who haven’t read the series, do! And those who read the first book, but not the second, read the second! NOW! I was so tired and yet I refused to fall asleep. I didn’t want to miss anything. I probably should have because man, I was tired, but NOPE. I needed to know what happened next. So, so good.

Nay May 31, 2017 at 12:53 PM

Tessa–I’m so glad to hear that Strange Hymn is good! I’m going to have to fit it in.

My fave May book was Somebody Else’s Sky by Jessica Hawkins. Ohhh the angst!!

Leslie M May 31, 2017 at 12:58 PM

Nay, please remind me I want to read that series when 3rd book cones out.

Jean May 31, 2017 at 3:06 PM

My fav for May has to be The Queen & the Cure…..with the Jack & Jill series in close 2nd!

I’m going away tonight for a long weekend so may be incognito for a while, but I’ll try to pop in occasionally to keep up with you all!!

Thanks for all your hard work Maryse!

MichelleS May 31, 2017 at 5:00 PM

Favorite May read for me was A Court of Wings & Ruin. Total perfection. All three in this series are five star reads that only got better with each one. Anxiously awaiting spinoffs. Love love love this fantasy world. Wish I could just live there. With Rhys. And I want my own wings.

Nay May 31, 2017 at 5:25 PM

Leslie–You got it! I now have a ‘remind Leslie to read series in Oct’ shelf on GR! lol

Jan May 31, 2017 at 7:02 PM

I didn’t read anything really fab in May :( except American Hellhound which I haven’t quite finished, so that’s gonna be claimed by June. For me May was a big HR fest, with a few CR rereads thrown in. So, I guess my favs were:

Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt (HR) and Pieces of Sky by Kaki Warner (Western HR).

bev May 31, 2017 at 7:34 PM

Ela, I believe it’s a trilogy. The third comes out in July. For the first book I don’t remember a CH just lose threads.

Maryse didn’t you used to do a summer reading list or something like that?

bev May 31, 2017 at 7:35 PM

Jan, what? You read everything I wrote this month how can you say nothing fab??

Fabi May 31, 2017 at 8:33 PM

It’s the end of May already? Ugh! I have no idea what my favorite book was. Was it the one that made me bawl my eyes out? Or was it one of those several PNRs I dove into? Gah! I’ll have to study the situation.

But, NO, it is not half year yet. We still have 7/12 months to go. ;-)

Fabi May 31, 2017 at 8:52 PM

Alright, got my May favs. I had lots of five star reads as usual. But first place is a tie this month – between my happiest book and my saddest book.

Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy was fantastically good. It put a smile on my face so big that my cheeks hurt.

September by Robert Winter – recommended by Michelle – made me cry so hard and for so long that I couldn’t breathe through my nose or get rid of the headache for a full day afterwards.

Both of them are the standouts out of the 20 books I read in May. Lots of honorable mentions too. *sigh* I live long months with holidays that let me do extra reading.

Niki May 31, 2017 at 9:24 PM

My favorite was A Court of Mist and Fury!! And White Hot..even though I’m only at 17%:)

Grey May 31, 2017 at 9:36 PM

My fave for the month… Fallen Crest Forever. Because, #ThreesomeFearsome.

Jan May 31, 2017 at 10:51 PM

Har di har har bev. We do love your posts, it’s true.

Tessa May 31, 2017 at 10:58 PM

Grey, I totally get it. That says how good Wings and Ruin was. It just was a wonderful read.

Fabi, the first book isn’t anywhere near as good as the second and third. Those two just are INSANE. If you get the chance, perhaps from a library, I’d say give the second book a try.

Jan June 1, 2017 at 12:26 AM

Welp Anna has picked the first book (CoTaR) for my June Pick-For-Me. So, I have to hang in there, cos the later books are better? OK. I’ll try. Once I’ve finished the epic American Hellhound, that is ;)

Tessa June 1, 2017 at 12:40 AM

I should say that it’s the second half that makes it start being pure awesome. Then… Book two! Then… Book three. lol

bev June 1, 2017 at 8:42 AM
R. Renee June 1, 2017 at 8:46 AM

Yay! It deserves the love!

Tessa June 1, 2017 at 9:37 AM

It was now or never.
The Novice by Taran Matharu

Leslie M June 1, 2017 at 10:38 AM

The television was on and I heard him.
Heaven & Hell by Kristen Ashley

That’s right folks, I am hoping this one will convert me to KA fan!!! I am only on chapter 2, and it has a promising start. But seriously, who would marry someone named Cooter?!? Yuck.

Maryse June 1, 2017 at 11:49 AM

A flash of light against her closed eyelids brings Zoey up out of the limbo between sleep and waking.

The Last Girl (The Dominion Trilogy Book 1) by Joe Hart

(that’s my audiobook)…

Maryse June 1, 2017 at 11:50 AM

My pleasure Jean!!! :D

My favorite for May is Sustained and God-Shaped Hole… equally. But for MUCH different reasons. :D

Maryse June 1, 2017 at 11:51 AM

D.G. Those sounds so very good, especially Vicious for that book-bully effect. :D

Maryse June 1, 2017 at 11:52 AM

Oh YEAH!! How did I miss a few of those? I shall add them into the pre-orders section. Especially excited about Emma Scott’s. :D

Grey June 1, 2017 at 12:12 PM

FLT ~ What makes you feel alive? Condensation. For it reminds me that I still breathe. ~ Ruckus by L.J. Shen

Tasha J June 1, 2017 at 2:02 PM

Did I read anything this month? It looks like I’ve marked one, Sophie Kinsella’s My Not So Perfect Life. So that’s my favorite. Lol I actually really really liked that one so it works. Wintersong just came in for me through digital library, now if only I could just find the time to READ it! Bah, I still need to finish what I’ve started. You wanna know one thing that’s been keeping me so super busy this summer? (Kids, obviously) But, instead of reading in my limited spare time, I’ve been painting rocks. Loads and loads of rocks. LOL…Instead of accomplishing anything else that’s on my big to do list, I sit and paint rocks. And it’s so fun! There’s a fb page where I live dedicated to rock painting/hiding/hunting and the community is really having a great time with it so far. I think us adults love it just as much as the kids, a real treasure hunt! Lol. I would like a few rainy days though to just sit and relax and catch up on some reading.

bev June 1, 2017 at 3:14 PM

There is a book coming out that has me kinda excited cause it looks fun. I keep hearing buzz for it. I know it is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but doesn’t it sound fun??

Fabi June 1, 2017 at 4:25 PM

Maryse, is The Last Girl getting any better for you? I liked it. But I read it so I wasn’t dealing with the narration. That does make a difference.

FLT – I’m jumping right into my June Pick For Me book

“Shawn lay on his back and stared unhappily at the ceiling.”
Watching and Wanting by Jay Northcote

Tessa June 1, 2017 at 6:35 PM

FLT part 2:
I, Juniper Mills, always run away from the people I love.
Juniper Smoke by Sadia Ash

Jan June 1, 2017 at 7:16 PM

That book looks intriguing, bev. Haven’t heard of it before. (I never know the goss……..)

Maryse, your first line is a goodie. That book is on my tbr. I think Fabi loved it.

The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice.

Yes folks, I’m FINALLY getting on board and starting Sarah Maas’ A Court Of Thorns and Roses. 9% in and so far so good :) And GUESS WHAT? By pure serendipity, when I went to buy it for my kindle this morning it’s ON SALE!! Only $2.99 AUD on :) :) :) Today is lookin’ good folks. Second day of winter here. Cold, but sunny.

Oh, and I finished American hellhound and it was FIVE STARS for me. And that doesn’t happen too often! Dartmoor lovers, you must read it.

Maryse June 1, 2017 at 10:08 PM

bev I did (and do) depending on my summer reading. ;) But mine always comes out mid-summer or towards the end. The best books I read over the summer, type-thing. ;)

Jan June 2, 2017 at 2:37 AM

I’m still getting ‘The Billionaire Dragon’s Secret Son’ recced whenever I open my personal amazon page. Why? Why? Why?

*shudders* Just, no.
