Good morning!! Happy Tuesday!

Tasha J November 28, 2017 at 7:38 AM

Good morning!

Lisa Aiello November 28, 2017 at 7:59 AM

Good morning, all. Hope it’s a wonderful day!

Ela November 28, 2017 at 7:59 AM

Morning CREW!

Leslie M November 28, 2017 at 8:11 AM

Good morning! I came down with major head cold yesterday so I am not my usual chipper self. :(

Kooloo, what is best meds for head cold??

I want to read Darker but hope its better than last one. I didnt feel like last one had enough new stuff.

I loved Ghosted! I might do a re-read on audio. That was one I wasnt sure about at beginning of story and then it sucked me right in.

Maryse November 28, 2017 at 8:50 AM

Good morning my friends!!!! I had some awesome coffee again this morning, but I can now confirm one peppermint mocha creamer is better than the other (in MY humble opinion).

Favorite: International Delight version. OMG BEST COFFEE EVER!!
Not so favorite: Coffee Mate version. Eh it’s good. Not “OMG” good.

bev November 28, 2017 at 9:39 AM

Hmm. I am using coffee mate which I like better than the Bailey’s version. So next I will have to try the International Delight.

Nay November 28, 2017 at 10:03 AM

Maryse–I SO agree about the International Delight version of ANY flavor. My youngest son and I drink the French vanilla every day (he does fat free and I do sugar free). I also LOVE the WalMart Great Value and the Dollar General Clover Valley liquid creamer. Neither of us love the Coffee Mate (I only buy it if I have to).

Tasha J November 28, 2017 at 11:41 AM

I think I’m gonna try A Crazy Kind of Love from up there as soon as I’ve finished Dead Woman Walking.
And, my first prime pantry order just arrived! I think I’m in lurve with Prime!
Update on my dog- we did end up getting her cremated and will get the ashes back. Thank you all for your kind words!!

Tessa November 28, 2017 at 11:55 AM

Alright, the international delight of pumpkin spice was not good at all. I haven’t tried their sugar-free peppermint mocha yet, but I do like the coffee delight version because the sugar-free aspect is pretty hidden.

Amy November 28, 2017 at 12:58 PM

Morning ladies! Well, morning to my West coast friends and afternoon to my Central and East coast friends. :D

I squirreled from Forget and started First this morning. I couldn’t hold off any longer. Yeah, yeah…I know I’ve been trying to read Forget for like two or three weeks, but First is just BEGGING to be read. The prologue alone hooked me and now I’m just hoping the story itself lives up to what the prologue promised. ;)

Amy November 28, 2017 at 12:59 PM

Mmmmm…peppermint anything sounds good right now.

I have to go grocery shopping, and ID peppermint creamer is on the list now.

Ela November 28, 2017 at 3:45 PM

Creme Brulee anything is yum!

MichelleS November 28, 2017 at 7:31 PM

Amy – yay!!! I loved First. Had to get through a few chapters before I was hooked, but then… BAM! Right in the heart. I wanted to be her. I wanted him to be mine. All the good stuff. Then I cried. You like crying, right?

MichelleS November 28, 2017 at 7:33 PM

I’m soooo uncool. I use Wal Mart brand powdered creamer. Why? Why do I do this when they have all this goodness? Well, I want coffee to taste like coffee, for one. And real stuff upsets my tummy.

Kooloo November 28, 2017 at 8:03 PM

That sucks Leslie! But to give your immune system a boost there are only 2 things on the OTC market that have been proven in many studies to work:

1) Echinacea – tincture only (not tabs/caps or teas or lozenges other such crap) then you take a TSP of the liquid and put it in a bit of water and drink – do it like 6 times a day for 4 days!

2) Cold Effects – is expensive and hard on the stomach and only decreases the duration of a cold
**** where as Echinacea not only decreases the duration of a cold but the severity of symptoms as well!!!

I’ll PM you on GRs for the other meds to take for your symptoms!

Tessa November 28, 2017 at 8:38 PM

MichelleS, the creamers are all milk free. However, it does make things taste different. :)

Amy November 28, 2017 at 9:11 PM

OMG MichelleS, I KNOW you know what your description of First just did to me…the butterflies in my tummy feel like they just smoked a bunch of crack!! *happy dances over to the wine rack*

For whatever reason, I can only drink my coffee black in the morning while I’m getting ready for work, but then I always use creamer with it in my travel mug for on the way to work. *shrugs* Habits.

Maryse November 28, 2017 at 9:48 PM

This one time, I ordered the Cyber Monday Phillips Air Fryer on super sale and it came cracked in the pull-out tray thingie.

Now I had to pack that sucker back up. And I didn’t even get to eat my chicken tenders and fries! And I don’t even have the good coffee creamer that I really like for tomorrow (stuck with that boring peppermint mocha one that I don’t like as much).

*double grumbles*

Tee hee. ;)

MichelleS November 28, 2017 at 10:28 PM

First World Problems Maryse! LOL. My fryer is cracked & I have to use peppermint mocha creamer!

My first world problem is that my burner igniter conked out and I’m going to have to go OUT for dinner tomorrow! Gasp’

bev November 28, 2017 at 11:18 PM

I like, ok love flavored creamer and drinks from the coffee shops. However my most favorite will always be a med/dark to dark roast with sugar and half&half.

Amy November 29, 2017 at 1:08 AM

*puts on innocent face like she didn’t just laugh at someone’s first-world problems*

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 10:24 AM

Tee hee!!!!

We are all so fortunate, it’s true. ;)

*glares at fryer that was supposed to be awesome*

Amy November 29, 2017 at 11:31 AM

Okay, so let’s do some first-world problem complaints. Because I’m irritable and need a laugh.

I made reservations for Saturday night and we have to wait until 7:00 to eat instead of 5:30 like I wanted. FWP.

Tasha J November 29, 2017 at 11:57 AM

My fingerling has arrived already, that was fast!
*Boo on eating at 7 Amy, I don’t like eating late.
*What’s everyone reading??

Tessa November 29, 2017 at 1:30 PM

I’m re-reading Trickery by Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve. The third book is coming out tomorrow and wanted to re-read the beginning again.

Tessa November 29, 2017 at 1:33 PM

Alright, FWP: Little dude and I are going to S. CA on Sat, and when I bought the tickets, they already sold out of the 7:30 am flight, so we had to get the 6:25 am and have to wake up way before anyone with a brain wants to wake up.

Grey November 29, 2017 at 2:01 PM

FWP… My daughter doesn’t get out of dance until 945 tonight and I just want to go to bed early. Like…5pm early…*blink, blink* no judgment, friends, it’s been a week and it’s only Wednesday…

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 2:39 PM

FWP: I have a super huge deadline that I’m already missing and I just spent 30 minutes stalking pictures of Diego Boneta. #lackofsleep

Jan November 29, 2017 at 5:23 PM

Sometimes I buy sachets of premix coffee and creamer from our local Asian mini-mart. Old Town brand (from Malaysia) or Aik Cheong brand. Super yummy. You can get a few different blends but I like the traditional. *sighs* Yup, I’m just a traditional gal.

Predictably, I’ve been reading HR. LOL. I’ve been enjoying Meredith Duran’s series set in Victorian England, called Rules for the reckless. But they’re pretty emotionally intense and I’m taking a break. Currently doing a read of Cora Carmack’s All Lined Up. Haven’t read any NA for yonks! There’s supposed to be a new one in this series coming one day…… 2018 maybe? (Rusk university series).

Jan November 29, 2017 at 5:25 PM

Oops. A *REread* of Cora Carmack.

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 5:37 PM

I’ve never heard of Diego Bobeta, so of course I Googled him… HAWT! Like in a cougar kind of way! RAWR

I’m reading Urban Fantasy series, new to me – Beautiful Monsters by Jax Lane. Cool title, cool probably-fake author’s name.,, but I like it!

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 5:39 PM

He was the (boy) subject of books/boys/booze today in my FB group. I’ve casted him in 6 novels I’ve read. He’s one of my go-to book boyfriends when Josh Duhamel doesn’t work.

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 5:40 PM

And I seriously just wrote casted. Good god.

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 5:55 PM

He’s got that Job Snow thing going on. Me likey.

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 5:55 PM

Job? Really??? JON

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 5:56 PM

Oh yeah! I can see that!

Jan November 29, 2017 at 6:23 PM

R casted Job Snow and then read, no reread, a book. Gotta love our typing skills.

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 6:24 PM

I haven’t slept in a week. That’s my excuse! :D

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 6:35 PM

I text with only my right thumb… that’s my excuse! I can’t do the two thumb thing.

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 6:39 PM

It’s WEDNESDAY! Can we play WCW? (Woman crush Wednesday). You’ve mentioned your go-to hotties for male roles. Do you cast yourself as female heroine? If I need a short, smart, sassy Brunette my go-to girl is Anna Kendrick. Love her sassy little self.

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 6:41 PM

I guess I could use Maryse too! She’s like a Anna Kendrick too! Ha! Amy can be in all my emotional YAs. But I’m probably picturing her all wrong.

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 7:05 PM

Ooooh I’m like a Anna Kendrick?!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!!

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 7:09 PM

Sometimes… if I know the author or what she looks like… I cast her. ;) LOL!!! Do you know how often Kristen Ashley or Karina Halle has been her own heroine, in my head while reading their books? Or like for “Until It Fades” by K.A. Tucker. Yep. K.A. Tucker was who I was seeing as the main character.

Tarryn Fisher? Always the heroine. In EVERY book, I see Tarryn (except for Dirty Red – the cover model was easily the one to envision).

Tessa November 29, 2017 at 7:12 PM

I paint a picture of what I think the person looks like. It’s never an actual person, just a specific person in my head. I think that’s my problem when I’m writing. I have a specific look in my head of someone I’ve never met, and that’s who I keep searching for on Pinterest. lol, It’s always an epic fail.

R. Renee November 29, 2017 at 7:17 PM

My go-to guys are #1 Josh Duhamel, #2 Diego Boneta, and if they don’t fit, Ian Somerhalder, Alexander Skarsgård, or Aaron Rodgers <–he's great for athletes!

Girls are #1 Lily Collins (but she tends to morph into Nina Dobrev), Dianna Agron, Amanda Seyfried, & Elle Fanning. I can't find a red head who will stick!

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 8:14 PM

My red heads are always Amy Adams (for that shy, distinguished redhead) or Isla Fisher for the goofy or obnoxious-but bombshell redhead… or sometimes… me < — LOL!!! (and yes, I know many think I’m more brown-haired – and I suppose that’s true now as I’ve gotten older, it has darkened, but I was born, and raised with very red/strawberry blonde hair). My nickname in elementary school was Pippi Longstockings… so yeah. *hrmph* So I’ve earned the right to play that part. ;)

Grey November 29, 2017 at 8:30 PM

And today, I’d like to thank Kohl’s for playing along… seriously, wtf were they thinking? I had a ridiculous amount of Kohl’s cash…and then they sent me a code for 40% off. Uh, it’s like asking to give me stuff. Yep, I’ll play this game with you. And I’ll apologize in advance to the UPS delivery person… again. *giggle*

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 8:32 PM

Shopping IS SO FREAKING FUN!!!!!!!

And my Roomba is worth her weight in GOLD!!!!!!!!

*glares at the absent Air Fryer that wanted to come CRACKED and has left the building!!!!*

*we could have been SO good together*

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 9:05 PM

I haven’t gotten my Roomba!!! What the heck? I’m soooo excited about that dang UFO looking doodad.

Yes, you are totally Anna Kendrick. That’s how I picture you. She’s itty bitty & sings & dances & is funny. Don’t rain on my parade & tell me you can’t sing & dance. Ha!

MichelleS November 29, 2017 at 9:08 PM

I just checked on Amazon and it hasn’t even shipped yet!!! I ordered it 7 days ago. Come on people! I have flocking on my floor from my new tree. More First World Problems.

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 9:12 PM

LOL MichelleS!!!

You have made my entire week with that!!!!!! :D !!!!!

Maryse November 29, 2017 at 9:29 PM

GASP!!! MIA ROOMBA!!! Must find… must use!

And now I know what flocking means, and yes… ROOMBA will take care of it. One day… ;)

Jan November 30, 2017 at 12:59 AM

First day of summer here tomorrow (Australia) but the weather is weird at the moment. Superhot today, but the forecast for tomorrow and the next day: HEAVY rain – maybe 6 to 12 inches of rain!!! What?????? Eeeek!!

JulieO November 30, 2017 at 5:23 AM

Did you name your roomba like I did?
Now the dogs know who I am talking about.

Melinda November 30, 2017 at 5:42 AM

Maryse, I don’t drink coffee but my daughter drinks one called caramel Latte and its foamy like a cappacino but it smells Delish.

Ohh and Amy, I was sucked into that book “First” with the prologue too.
You just wait. It’s really good. Your heart will love it.

MichelleS November 30, 2017 at 5:09 PM

Nay – love love love Lauren Gilley! Did you read her new one? It’s paranormal! And freaking awesome!!!

Kooloo November 30, 2017 at 5:39 PM

MARYSE!!!!! I just can not believe you forgot about NESPRESSO on Cyber Monday – lucky for everyone the sale is still on!!!! You save 28% Holy Moly Batman!!!!!

OK what you get is the machine — which is super duper easy to use SEE VIDEO on the Amazon link below… AND you get the MILK FROTHER — which is soo cool and no chance of burning yourself like those Starbucks baristas (suckers)… AND you get a starter pack of 12 different kinds of Nespresso!!!!

Tessa November 30, 2017 at 6:19 PM

Michelle, it is a reverse harem, which you didn’t like. (I love them if they are done right.)

Is Beautiful Monsters M/M?

MichelleS November 30, 2017 at 7:38 PM

Tessa – it is m/m and whatever floats your boat! M/f too…. it’s Incubus society in a war with Vamps for millennia. Very cool world building. Amazing characters. I love when I don’t know who the good guys are or the bad guys. Had no guesses, just went along for the ride. It’s kind of brutal though.

Tessa November 30, 2017 at 9:05 PM

I was reading the blurb and wasn’t sure because I see incubus and think a guy, but at the same time, some of it made me unsure. Is it mostly a submissive male, or is it all over the place? I kind of want to try it, especially with an incubus vs vampire thing and I did like Wolfsong…

Tessa November 30, 2017 at 9:25 PM

And… I did love Seduction. Now to wait FOREVER for the next book. lol Now, I’m reading a book a lot of you have recommended. Torn from You by Nashoda Rose. Wish me luck!

MichelleS November 30, 2017 at 10:36 PM

Tessa – no. Nope. Nuh uh. Not a submissive one in the bunch! Very strong characters. No one is even “gay”, they are just beings that feed off sex. It was like nothing I’ve read. Kept me interested. A few too many “battle scenes”… but I kept reading to see who was betraying who next. And I bought book two right away, so that should tell you something.

MichelleS November 30, 2017 at 10:40 PM

Tesss – I read that whole series, but only remember bits & pieces! But I read them back to back in March…. so…. that was a while ago!

Maryse November 30, 2017 at 10:47 PM

I still have to register my Roomba JulieO… I haven’t decided on her name yet. ;) She’s a she. My Braava is a he (his serial number even starts with “HIS”), and his name is Bravo. :) I have registered him.

Maryse November 30, 2017 at 10:48 PM

Caramel Latte sounds right up my alley, Melinda!!!!!!

Maryse November 30, 2017 at 10:53 PM

I need to go to Walmart Nay. What’s your favorite flavor in that brand??

Nay November 30, 2017 at 11:24 PM

Maryse–I love the Hazelnut and the French Vanilla. I can’t think right now of what other flavors of that brand I’ve tried.

Nay November 30, 2017 at 11:32 PM

I need everyone’s prayers and good juju in the morning! My cardiologist called this afternoon and they got the results of the big daddy blood test I get done every month now (instead of getting a heart biopsy) to measure the possibility of rejection, and my results were ‘too high’. So I have to be at the hospital at 6 am in the morning to get a biopsy done so that they can see what’s going on (if I’m rejecting).

I *have* been taking antibiotics and diflucan the past week for two different infections in my body (that have nothing to do with my heart), so that most likely has something (everything) to do with it because of my suppressed immune system. So I’m hoping that those infections somehow skewed my results. I feel great heartwise and I never would have known anything was off if they hadn’t told me.

As soon as I know something, I’ll let y’all know. Please be thinking about me. I’m scared sh!tless right now!

R. Renee November 30, 2017 at 11:35 PM

Love you Nay. You got this. <3 XOXOXOXO

Kooloo December 1, 2017 at 12:15 AM

Your fine Nay – it is exactly what you are thinking, your WBCs are up due to a secondary infxn! No Worries OK – take some deep breaths – keep that positive thinking and take some melatonin (3mg) if you can’t sleep tonight.

Nay December 1, 2017 at 12:20 AM

Thanks, Robin and Kooloo!

Duh, I should have texted you right away, Kooloo! My head is clearly not on straight right now. Thank you for making me feel 1000% better!!!

Diana Nixon December 1, 2017 at 2:02 AM

@Kooloo Happy Reading!!! :) Apart from Shattered and Fragile, KU has my other books as well :)

Melinda December 1, 2017 at 6:00 AM

Nay, positive thinking. I thought you seemed so much better. You’ll be fine.

Maryse I can send you some from Aussie and see if you like it.
There’s another one Hazelnut Latte. They like that one too.

Maryse, you just have to come to Australia for good coffee. It’s like a competition here who has the best. My husband just looves his coffee. And knows all the best places to go. He’s liKe a connoisseur of coffee.

Leslie M December 1, 2017 at 6:24 AM

Nay, I am thinking of you! *big fat hugs* (since we had to do gentle hugs for so long)

Nay December 1, 2017 at 7:17 AM

Thanks! I’m waiting to be called back for the heart biopsy now. I will let y’all know what they say. They can tell some thinks as soon as the go in, but I will also have to wait for the main results, possibly over the weekend. But I sure hope not! I’m shaking so badly that I can hardly type. I need a Valium! Lol

R. Renee December 1, 2017 at 7:19 AM

I wish I could ply you with tequila but that probably wouldn’t be a good idea.

Nay December 1, 2017 at 8:15 AM

Omg! I’m such an idiot! I went to the bank yesterday and got a large amount of cash because we’re going car shopping for my 2 youngest sons this weekend, and when I got the call right after I got home with ‘the news’, I was in such a daze that I forgot to take the money out of my purse. So I’m lying here with hospital security and 3 nurses acting as witnesses so that they can document this cash that the crazy lady brought to the hospital with her! Ugh!

R. Renee December 1, 2017 at 8:17 AM

OMG that is so something I would do!

Maryse December 1, 2017 at 9:06 AM

I wish I was with you right now Nay!!!!

I’m thinking of you.

Kooloo December 1, 2017 at 9:21 AM

LMAO. NayNay that’s hilarious!!!!!!

Tessa December 1, 2017 at 11:14 AM

*hugs* Hope it all goes well Nay!

Michelle, you convinced me, especially since the first book is free!

Amy December 1, 2017 at 12:14 PM

Aw Nay, let us know how things went as soon answer you can. Positive thoughts and HUGE HUGS coming your way!!

Kooloo December 1, 2017 at 12:37 PM

Questions for you:
1) are you on GR because I can’t find you
2) if no than Why Not lol
3) have you read A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES series by Deborah Harkness
4) do you do Audiobooks because the series narrator (Jennifer Ikeda) was Brilliant!

JulieO December 1, 2017 at 2:43 PM

We’ve got your back
A lot of strong women are sending good thoughts your way!
So everything will be OK
