Ok, I dozed off from 6:30 to 8:00 (no school today) and feel refreshed. Having some delicious coffee w/pumpkin biscotti and getting caught up on laundry.
I finished American Queen last night and it was just ok. Totally not the fault of the book, just not my type of story. There wasnt enough romance and too much bdsm-ish & mystery/secrets. For me to get into this trope, I really have to be fascinated by the non-romance storyline. The end was supposed to be shocking and I found myself not really caring. The good news is, I can knock books 2 & 3 off the tbr!!
I am now starting Cuffed by K. Bromberg.
You guys looking for brisk fall weather would love it here today. Its only 40 but sunny with tons of fallen leaves blowing around.

Jean, SERIOUSLY??? Coffee is one thing I can’t live without. It is the most pleasurable part of my day. I wanted to stab myself when I was pregnant and nursing and couldn’t have caffiene. Probably why I only have 1 kid (no joke). No one should have to go without coffee!! BLASPHEMY!!!

Okay… I am looking at Shifter’s University, Dirty, Filthy Fix, And Bad. Tons of yummys today but those three stand out. And if you haven’t read Dirty, Filthy Men, GO READ IT! It’s nuts.
Finally reading Hundreds by Pepper Winters. It’s good, but still not dark. I don’t think this is going to be a dark series at all past the first book so I have to readjust my way of thinking in this series.
I’m not a huge coffee fan, but I like the sweets, so cappuccino, flavored stuffs that you put in coffees… I love the smell of coffee… I’m weird. We really are twins, Jean, lol! I like my Keurig, I love cocoa. I love the peppermint mocha creamer…oh my yummmm.
Avoiding Commitment. I’m having issues, but… I’m wondering if it’s me… So continuing.

My TBR list is out of control too. I have three books start at once. A horror from Joe Hill, the super-bargain from Mariana Zapata, and a psych thriller called “I’m Watching You”.

I am at 18% of Cuffed. It IS dual POV which I prefer, but I know some of you dislike. So far it is really good. I will keep you posted.

I’m haven’t been one clicking as much because I’m deep into rereading the Afterlife series (and they are huge books) that are taking me forever to read and I’m also rereading the Consequences series. In between those I’m sneaking in some recent releases. Annnddd….I’ve taken up quilting and that’s becoming addictive and consuming. GASP!

I liked Hooking Up, but not as much as her other books. It had the humor and great characters, but I didn’t feel an emotional connection between the h and H. 🙁

1. Getting my ta-tas smashed between two planes of plastic after the tech manipulates them is NOT fun.
2. I'm making roast in the slow cooker again but this time with an onion gravy and it smells heavenly.
3. I'm also making pumpkin loaves with cream cheese frosting right now. Because Fall.
I love fall. This is the best time of the year!!! 😀
1. My coffee this morning was a Keurig pumpkin spice from clearance. There’s a reason it was on clearance. It tasted like pumpkin spiced bacon. Yuck!
2. I’ve asked little dude what he wants for Christmas. He still doesn’t know.
3. Speaking of whom, when you say a number, he sees the word, not objects or the symbol. So he sees nine, not 9 or nine dots. No wonder math is hard for him.
My author friend Molly O’Keefe just released RUIN YOU, and it’s a really amazing angst contemporary romance with super vivid characters. Simon is one of my fav book boyfriends I’ve read in a while but it’s really the heroine in all her prickly intensity that shines. If you haven’t read Molly yet, this would be a great place to start <3

OMG Count Chocula is one of my favorite things on the planet! My mom used to have to ship it to me when I lived in Hawaii!
1. I’ve been poring over stock photos of hot guys all day and it really isn’t as fun as it sounds.
2. I’m trying to decide if I want to open a bottle of wine. I only have one left, and I need emergency wine on hand these days. If I open this one, I’ll have to go to the store tomorrow. So the question is, am I lazier than I am thirsty?
3. We’re skipping Christmas. No tree, no family, no nothing. This year wiped us out so we’re lying low. I will make Maryse’s roast though because, yumm!
BOOOOOO BERRRRRRRY!!!!! (although I love all three). Did they change in yumminess since the 80s? I could swear they tasted even better then? 😉
THREE THINGS:
1.) I’m having a small “snifter” of Apple Pie Moonshine (and OMG IT TASTES SO GOOD AND MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND THEREFORE I CAN ONLY HAVE ONE!!!). LOL.
2.) I am reading three books right now, but my two “mains” are “Wait for It” and Joe Hill’s NOS 4A2 (totally opposite genres and both have my attention)
3.) Heading to bed as we speak so I can “read in bed” (and essentially, read myself to sleep). My favorite. The moonshine sure helps, too. 😉 *snort*
Pfft…I say YES to more moonshine and opening the bottle of wine.
P.S. I don’t really know what a snifter is, but it makes me sound distinguished.

Can I say, though, from a real-world standpoint, if all those romances were only one couple, that would be sad. I just think it’s better that far more people had that epic romance, not just one couple who kept screwing it up.

1. I’m on a coffee break, I drink Decaf earl grey tea when I need something hot. I bought peppermint tea, but dk if I can drink it bc pregnant and also peppermint makes me sick (from bad drinking experiences in my teens)
2. I don’t get flu shot, nor do my kids. I’m seeing so much from them now, and it’s recommended when prego, I feel like maybe I should. But, I really don’t wanna!!

Funny about flu shot….I make my son get it but I have never had one.

OMG my blood pressure is through the roof. THROUGH THE ROOF!! Why why WHY do people look the other way when someone is being mistreated as if it is none of their business when it is EVERYONE’S business to step in!!! I was at the medical clinic and this old man was mistreating this incapacitated elderly woman who was obviously dependent on him for her care and he was being rough with her and calling her stupid, and when she started begging him for help with her leg because it slipped out of the little stirrup and she said she was in pain, he called her a liar and slammed her reclining wheelchair upright causing her to scream out in pain. And what does everyone around us do (all twenty or so!)? They all shake their heads and look away.
F&%K. THAT.
I went over and fixed her foot and she started crying and thanking me and then the a$$hole yells at me to leave her alone and that she just wanted attention. The F#$K you just say to me?? Oh no you didn’t just yell at me you bastard. I told him I WILL GIVE HER THAT ATTENTION THEN!!! Then she asks if I will stay with her and take care of her and I’m trying not to cry and he says he’s taking her outside WHERE IT IS RAINING AND COLD and she tries to grab onto me and begs me not to let him take her out there and she’s sobbing and EVERYONE IS JUST WATCHING AND THEN LOOKING THE OTHER WAY! And I’m raising my voice to him and he’s yelling at me to mind my own business and the medical staff is just walking around like nothing is happening.
So I got security who went to get social services because I swear to god I was going to get my a$$ thrown in jail for shoving that guy on HIS a$$.
What the actual F%@K people?!? You don’t hurt children or the elderly or the incapacitated, and you don’t look the other way when it happens!!!!
And now I’m crying again and I just want to scream because WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THAT?!? I need a drink NOW!!
OMG AMY!!!!! That would have freaked me out and I am so proud of you standing up for that woman. What will happen to her, I wonder??

No FLT yet, because The Consort by KA Linde was so good, I finished it off this morning. OH! If you like fantasy, go get The Affiliate by KA Linde. The series is not complete, (apparently not a trilogy like I thought) but it’s seriously good. Keep it on your TBR if you hate CH, though. lol It’s got a doozy!
