WEDNESDAY BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! PENNY REID’S LATEST IS LIVE!! ➔ Kissing Tolstoy (Dear Professor Book 1) HER BLIND DATE ENDS UP BEING HER PROFESSOR!”What do you do when you discover that your super-hot blind date from months ago is now your super-hot Russian Lit professor?“

HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY!!! Oooooh ALMOST 100 books today!! 98+ (and counting, ’cause if any more go live throughout the day, I’m adding ‘em!). Wow this list looks like those from a few months ago that were regularly 100+

And *ahem* THAT ONE UP THERE TO THE LEFT (Complicated) brings us a little “deja vu” too, ’cause the ebook is finally live, for all of those that skipped the audio, waiting to actually read it. It’s time! And it features a cop (town sheriff) that cuts down their relationship before it even starts. Ain’t that just like a KA alpha-male? ;) Grrrrr! *snort* Who am I kidding? He’s sounds exactly like I love ‘em. In books. Always and ONLY in books. Tee hee!! :P

Anne: Aaarrgggghhhhh! I can’t wait much longer

Kandace: I can’t wait!!!

And I found a few more that gave me a blurb jolt: Complicated (I love KA’s moody-bossy alpha males, and I am having a thing for “cop” books lately, plus the synopsis got me. Oh yes it did! ;)The Outpost (I loved #1, and I this one seems to feature another moody-bossy, no-nonsense alpha. City girl in hiding, and the brooding mountain man says she can stay with him. Yes please!!), Hooking Up (she goes on her honeymoon alone and lo and behold, the guy she tried to have a revenge fling with is there, too!), Jacob’s Ladder (the single mom and the rock star!!), Shock Jock (the shock-jock sexologist tells everyone how to “love” and then he gets a call that changes everything), Dream On (single mom that was shamed out of town, and her ex who’s now a famous NFL player… second chance romance but now the world – and paparazzi – is watching – this blurb sort of gives me a “Until it Fades” feel which I SO LOVED!! So I’m intrigued!!!)

P.P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

  • The Sun Is Also a Star (Yoon, Nicola) by Nicola Yoon <— Ooooh NICOLA YOON SUPER-BARGAIN ALERT!!! I’ve read another one by this author and LOVED it, and now this one is one sale!! A “fate” love story. “I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story...” P.S. Here’s my 4.5 STAR review of her other book, “Everything, Everything
  • The Child by Fiona Barton <— PSYCH-THRILLER ALERT & IT’S BARGAIN PRICED!! “...she unearths connections to a crime that rocked the city decades earlier: A child was stolen from the maternity ward in a local hospital and was never found. Her heartbroken parents were left devastated by the loss. But there is more to the story, and Kate is drawn—house by house—into the pasts of the people who once lived in this neighborhood that has given up its greatest mystery...”
  • Dirty Filthy Rich Men (Dirty Duet Book 1) by Laurelin Paige <— BULLY ALERT!! SUPER-BARGAIN & I soooooo one-clicked this.

Janet: A good roller coaster ride through hot obsession, with some angst, some heart wrench and a buffet of good characters to love and loathe.

Tessa: I started Dirty, Filthy, Rich Love last night and I couldn’t stop! I’m almost done. :) Yep, it’s that good.

  • Hate Story by Nicole Williams <— NICOLE WILLIAMS SUPER-BARGAIN!!! GASP!! THAT TITLE!! Just by that title alone, it sounds like my kind of angst!!! Arranged temporary marriage to solve both of their problems but… “…the more she gets to know this soon-to-be-husband of hers, the more she discovers just how very much she truly, madly, and deeply . . . hates him. This isn’t a love story. This is the other kind.
  • A Charm of Finches (Venery Book 2) by Suanne Laqueur <— M/M ROMANCE (by one of our favorite authors!!) IT’S A RECENT RELEASE & we have more awesome feedback!!
Lynn: Holy cow. I finished A Charm of Finches yesterday and it is by far the best book I’ve read in years.  I can’t even start another book yet, and I average 3 a week while working full time and with 3 kids!Move it to the top of your TBR list and thank me later! it is phenomenal. I can’t even begin to describe all the emotions – I am gutted, I am in love (x3), and I am motivated to become a better human being.Treat yourself and spread the word. Suanne deserves the praise and the following.
  • Wait for It by Mariana Zapata <— MARIANA ZAPATA’S SLOW BURN IS BACK ON THE LIST ’cause Jennifer LOVED IT!!!

Jennifer: I just finished Wait for It by Mariana Zapata..this is the 1st book I’ve read by her and will not be my last!!! It tugs at your heart strings and has you laughing. I absolutely fell in love with the Heroine!!! I also love the slow build between the H&H!! …not sure if it’s still on sale but if it is or not RUN RUN RUN and 1-click !!!

Lisa Aiello November 7, 2017 at 8:09 AM

I was lazy and didn’t stop for my normal morning coffee (like how hard is it to go through a drive-thru, right???)…and now I’m sad!!

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 8:38 AM

Ok, I dozed off from 6:30 to 8:00 (no school today) and feel refreshed. Having some delicious coffee w/pumpkin biscotti and getting caught up on laundry.

I finished American Queen last night and it was just ok. Totally not the fault of the book, just not my type of story. There wasnt enough romance and too much bdsm-ish & mystery/secrets. For me to get into this trope, I really have to be fascinated by the non-romance storyline. The end was supposed to be shocking and I found myself not really caring. The good news is, I can knock books 2 & 3 off the tbr!!

I am now starting Cuffed by K. Bromberg.

You guys looking for brisk fall weather would love it here today. Its only 40 but sunny with tons of fallen leaves blowing around.

Jean November 7, 2017 at 9:06 AM

Good morning! I have the same weather here Leslie! Love it! Boots and sweater!

That’s quite some list up there!

*whispers*… believe it or not, I don’t drink coffee….

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:12 AM

Wow Jean! No coffee for you…maybe a latte???
Leslie, I want the fall weather! We had a week of fall but back to 80’s and humid!

*starts making refills for everyone to grab*

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 9:17 AM

D.G. is quite the barista, thanks! I crashed from my biscotti sugar high.

Of course Maryse the evil book temptress *snort* is casting her spell on us!! Ugh! How are we supposed to trim our TBR with all the shinies?!?

(that was a literal not rhetorical question)

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 9:22 AM

Jean, SERIOUSLY??? Coffee is one thing I can’t live without. It is the most pleasurable part of my day. I wanted to stab myself when I was pregnant and nursing and couldn’t have caffiene. Probably why I only have 1 kid (no joke). No one should have to go without coffee!! BLASPHEMY!!!

Jean November 7, 2017 at 9:24 AM

I really wish I liked it…. I’m not a morning person and could use some kind of jolt!

Tessa November 7, 2017 at 9:45 AM

Jean, Dd you like tea? Some give the same jolt. I’m staring at the hour you all woke up and seriously? That was three thirty for me!

Okay… I am looking at Shifter’s University, Dirty, Filthy Fix, And Bad. Tons of yummys today but those three stand out. And if you haven’t read Dirty, Filthy Men, GO READ IT! It’s nuts.

Finally reading Hundreds by Pepper Winters. It’s good, but still not dark. I don’t think this is going to be a dark series at all past the first book so I have to readjust my way of thinking in this series.

Grey November 7, 2017 at 10:01 AM

I’m not a huge coffee fan, but I like the sweets, so cappuccino, flavored stuffs that you put in coffees… I love the smell of coffee… I’m weird. We really are twins, Jean, lol! I like my Keurig, I love cocoa. I love the peppermint mocha creamer…oh my yummmm.

Avoiding Commitment. I’m having issues, but… I’m wondering if it’s me… So continuing.

There’s a couple pretties up there I’m eyeing. Maryse, thank you as always for being awesome, I’ve been remiss lately. *hugs*

bev, I’m gonna need to go on a book buying restriction soon…ugh. You in?

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 10:28 AM

Grey hot cocoa is awesome too! More of a night time drink for me- I just need that caffeine in the mornings.

Tessa – the time change this past weekend has messed my sleep up! Daylight savings time is for the birds!

Ela November 7, 2017 at 10:28 AM

At the airport drinking iced egg nog latte

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 10:35 AM

Tessa, I get up at 5:30 EST. So you are definitely still a-snooze. ;)

Ela, have a GREAT vacation!! :)

Jean November 7, 2017 at 10:39 AM

I do love hot chocolate and the smell of some coffees (hazelnut).

Grey, I put myself on a spending freeze too, but then I “accidentally” 1-clicked Dirty Filthy Rich Men last night….

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 10:52 AM

Happy vaca Ela!!! Enjoy, relax, eat too much, and take lots of pics!

Tessa November 7, 2017 at 11:25 AM

lol Accidently clicked?

Leslie, yeah… I woke up at 6 pst. lol By then you’ve been awake for a while.

Eggnog latte? Does that mean peppermint mocha is available?

Alright, Hundreds… The rest of the books past Pennies and a part of dollars, seem to be more about the relationship and healing her. That’s not a bad thing, just unexpected. :)

Kellie November 7, 2017 at 11:32 AM

Late Good Morning Maryse! Huge lurker only second time commenting but had to share 2 things! 1- my TBR list is out of control and I need therapy. Love and live by your lists and recommendations! 2- my last comment long ago was about our mutual love of the classic Disney kids books my fav being “The Haunted House”. Long since lost but last week my mother found and shipped me a new copy for Halloween! Thought you fellow book nuts would love that

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 11:43 AM

Kellie, if your TBR is outta control, you are in good company here!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:08 PM

My TBR list is out of control too. I have three books start at once. A horror from Joe Hill, the super-bargain from Mariana Zapata, and a psych thriller called “I’m Watching You”.

And I am enjoying all of them. LOL!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:09 PM

Welcome, Kellie!!!!! I sometimes wonder if I should buy up all of the old classics that I had (that I can find) and remake my childhood library.

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:15 PM

Tessa… Peppermint Mocha makes me happy.

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:16 PM

Jean, I one-clicked it too. ;) I hope he makes me FUME!!!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:18 PM

It is my pleasure, Grey!

I get to make lists (which I love), and then these lists end up looking like our very own historical documents years later, that I love to scroll through…

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 12:21 PM

Please let us know what you think of Cuffed, Leslie. That is on my TBR list ’cause I’m in the mood for cop-romance books (but more for “cop in uniform” than detective ones…)

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 12:45 PM

I am at 18% of Cuffed. It IS dual POV which I prefer, but I know some of you dislike. So far it is really good. I will keep you posted.

Robyn November 7, 2017 at 12:51 PM

Hi Everyone! Yes, coffee is a must. I’m drinking my iced coffee right now. Going off daylight savings time doesn’t effect me, I live in AZ! One good think about living here. LOL

I’m haven’t been one clicking as much because I’m deep into rereading the Afterlife series (and they are huge books) that are taking me forever to read and I’m also rereading the Consequences series. In between those I’m sneaking in some recent releases. Annnddd….I’ve taken up quilting and that’s becoming addictive and consuming. GASP!

Grey- keep going with Avoiding Commitment. I absolutely loved this series. All I can do is say Jack and shake my head! Hehe

Now I’m off to read American King before I’m sucked into the quilting room.

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 1:18 PM

Robyn, take up audiobooks, then you can quilt AND read at same time!! Win, win.

bev November 7, 2017 at 2:48 PM

Grey, I’m on a reading restriction so might as well, lol. When to when?

Amy November 7, 2017 at 5:42 PM

What a list up there and SO MUCH in the comments to respond to!

*takes a deep breath*

Coffee. *sigh* Morning nectar. EVERY morning, no matter what.

Jean…how about tea? Have you ever gone to a Teavana store? A little pricey for tea but soooooooo worth the money. And you “accidentally” clicked on it? Or accidentally on purpose clicked on it? *snickers*

Hi Kellie! *big welcome hug* Er, I hope you’re a hugger or I just made that awkward. :? In any case, WE can be your therapy for having an out of control TBR list. Or your enablers. Meh, whatever you want to call it. ;)

Robyn…did he redeem himself for you by the end of the third book like he did for me? I swear, I NEVER saw that coming and thought I would hate him forever.

Not having any more children so you don’t have to give up coffee…you GO, Leslie. ;)

Grey…are you having issues because of how Jack is or how Lexi keeps hanging on or both of those or what? I remember one particular scene that had her on the floor and me in tears. Hey, listen to this song…it totally fits that book for me: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s8eAp9PzWUg

Tessa November 7, 2017 at 5:54 PM

I liked Hooking Up, but not as much as her other books. It had the humor and great characters, but I didn’t feel an emotional connection between the h and H. :(

Amy November 7, 2017 at 7:01 PM

Alright, it’s too quiet for a Tuesday (it’s New Release Day, people!) so how about we play bev’s 3 things? That is, if anyone decides to show up and talk to me. <—- Yes, I'm grumbling and pouting there. :P

Three things:
1. Getting my ta-tas smashed between two planes of plastic after the tech manipulates them is NOT fun.
2. I'm making roast in the slow cooker again but this time with an onion gravy and it smells heavenly.
3. I'm also making pumpkin loaves with cream cheese frosting right now. Because Fall.

Tessa November 7, 2017 at 7:14 PM

1. My coffee this morning was a Keurig pumpkin spice from clearance. There’s a reason it was on clearance. It tasted like pumpkin spiced bacon. Yuck!

2. I’ve asked little dude what he wants for Christmas. He still doesn’t know.

3. Speaking of whom, when you say a number, he sees the word, not objects or the symbol. So he sees nine, not 9 or nine dots. No wonder math is hard for him.

Skye Warren November 7, 2017 at 7:18 PM

My author friend Molly O’Keefe just released RUIN YOU, and it’s a really amazing angst contemporary romance with super vivid characters. Simon is one of my fav book boyfriends I’ve read in a while but it’s really the heroine in all her prickly intensity that shines. If you haven’t read Molly yet, this would be a great place to start <3

Amy November 7, 2017 at 7:23 PM

Oh Tessa, I want to huggle your little dude right now. Sweet little guy.

And then Skye pops in and uses catnip words right after mention of a buying restriction. :P

Leslie M November 7, 2017 at 7:53 PM

3 things:

I am eating dry Count Chocula right now as a snack

I am surrounded by piles of laundry to put away…hoping I can blow it off ’til tomorrow

I want to start decorating for Christmas

R. Renee November 7, 2017 at 8:01 PM

OMG Count Chocula is one of my favorite things on the planet! My mom used to have to ship it to me when I lived in Hawaii!

1. I’ve been poring over stock photos of hot guys all day and it really isn’t as fun as it sounds.

2. I’m trying to decide if I want to open a bottle of wine. I only have one left, and I need emergency wine on hand these days. If I open this one, I’ll have to go to the store tomorrow. So the question is, am I lazier than I am thirsty?

3. We’re skipping Christmas. No tree, no family, no nothing. This year wiped us out so we’re lying low. I will make Maryse’s roast though because, yumm!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:06 PM

BOOOOOO BERRRRRRRY!!!!! (although I love all three). Did they change in yumminess since the 80s? I could swear they tasted even better then? ;)

THREE THINGS:

1.) I’m having a small “snifter” of Apple Pie Moonshine (and OMG IT TASTES SO GOOD AND MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND THEREFORE I CAN ONLY HAVE ONE!!!). LOL.

2.) I am reading three books right now, but my two “mains” are “Wait for It” and Joe Hill’s NOS 4A2 (totally opposite genres and both have my attention)

3.) Heading to bed as we speak so I can “read in bed” (and essentially, read myself to sleep). My favorite. The moonshine sure helps, too. ;) *snort*

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:07 PM

LESLIE!!! DECORATE!!! DO IT! :D

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:07 PM

YAY Skye!!! I am looking it up right now!! :D Thank you!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:10 PM

Oh yeah it sounds awesome. I just added it. :)

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:11 PM

I love fall. This is the best time of the year!!! :D

Amy November 7, 2017 at 8:20 PM

Pfft…I say YES to more moonshine and opening the bottle of wine.

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:22 PM

P.S. I don’t really know what a snifter is, but it makes me sound distinguished.

Let’s go with “small amount”. Two fingers? LOL!

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 8:23 PM

Nobody needs wine when they have apple pie moonshine. ;)

Wait, did I just rhyme?

Grey November 7, 2017 at 8:32 PM

3 things…
1) I love when someone decides to play 3 things because usually everyone comes out to play!
2) My son and I are having our “date evening” watching episodes of The Voice on the DVR.
3) We had pizza for dinner. #LazyMom lol

bev, let me get back to you… It’s gonna have to be soon, lol!

Amy, I haven’t gotten there yet… I just got to the Kate finding out part… I’m gonna listen tonight.

Maryse, moonshine????

Amy November 7, 2017 at 8:34 PM

TWO times two fingers. Yeah, that should be sufficient.

Hey, an elderly woman told me the other day when I was purchasing some wine that wine stands for “Women In Need of Excitement” before she walked off cackling (CACKLING…my favorite kind of laugh ;) ).

*eyes wineglass of riesling*

Well sh!t.

bev November 7, 2017 at 8:37 PM

1. Decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving is wrong.
2. Wrong I say.
3. However, I did just buy Bailey’s white chocolate peppermint coffee creamer.

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 9:01 PM

Ohhh bev you’re speaking my language!

Except for the anti-early-Christmas sentiments. ;)

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 9:02 PM

CACKLING IS TRUE ABANDON!!!!!

I love to cackle.

*cackles gleefully and deviously*

See? Awesome. :)

Grey November 7, 2017 at 9:10 PM

Whoa… Hold up. *blows whistle* Bailey’s makes white chocolate peppermint creamer??? *Side-eyes clock*

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:19 PM

Three things….
1. I am rereading Malachi and I. FIVE star read my peeps…it has depth folks…so go ahead and one-click it…what’s one more on your TBR?!?
2. Apparently I pre-ordered a book the other day and totally forgot about it until it showed up in my kindle.
3. I love fruit scented soaps.

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:22 PM

Pineapple and Strawberry are my favorite. And I did buy a Chardonnay scented candle this past weekend!!!! OMGeee, it smells awesome!

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:22 PM

Malachi and I

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:23 PM

I might just start randomly dropping that title in until someone else reads it and gushes and loves iit just about as much I do….

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:24 PM

And no, I haven’t coffee tonight….yet

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:25 PM

But I might be talking to myself….*hollers ‘hello, is anyone here’*

Melinda Ruyten November 7, 2017 at 9:31 PM

Jean, Not only my book buddy.

I can’t drink coffee since I had my kids makes me sick.
Tea all the way. But Jasmine tea, the Chinese one. because I also couldn’t drink normal tea while I was pregnant and it never came back.

So many good books. Tbr is just killing me too.

Maryse, do you ever get so wound up you can’t sleep. Because the book won’t let you wind down. Like Charm of Finches. That is such an emotional, traumatic ride. I just wanted to give my kids a big hug after that

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 9:33 PM

Wait… didn’t I READ Malachi and I?

*looks it up*

Maryse November 7, 2017 at 9:34 PM

Nope. I did not…

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:43 PM

Oh Maryse…you HAVE to read it! Like yesterday…or like really, really soon. I promise you will love it. JJ McAvoy took the whole reincarnation plot and NAILED it.

D.G. November 7, 2017 at 9:53 PM

Melinda – how horrible that pregnancy derived you of coffee!!! I.just.can’t.even.
I love my kiddos to pieces but it is a joy for me…

marina November 7, 2017 at 10:15 PM

I’m all over Prince Roman. Its about a character from King of Code which is one of my top reads this year. Loved it. I love everything CD Reiss writes.

Tessa November 8, 2017 at 12:38 AM

DG, I honestly forgot about that one. *blushes* It did sound good.

Can I say, though, from a real-world standpoint, if all those romances were only one couple, that would be sad. I just think it’s better that far more people had that epic romance, not just one couple who kept screwing it up.

D.G. November 8, 2017 at 6:45 AM

Tessa, now you need to read it! You will be TOTALLY surprised as to how it all flows and how it ends! It is not the typical romance…which makes it EPIC!!!!

Kooloo November 8, 2017 at 9:37 AM

GOOD MORNING MY BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!!

Ok so I have been running flu clinics everyday after work at different pharmacies across the city AND HAVE NOT read a full book in like DAYS!!! Seriously going thru withdrawal here…

Anyway, if you and your fam have not had your flu shot yet DO IT and DO IT NOW! Its called “HERD IMMUNITY” – look it up people – it might just save your life one day.

Kooloo November 8, 2017 at 9:40 AM

SO there I was finally home from another long ass day of poking people and making kids cry (which secretly makes me cry… I take a lot of pee breaks when I run flu clinics) when I see a BEAUTIFUL PINK BOOKWORM BOX waiting for me…….

Gahhhhhhh I just love this part!!! So this month’s delivery from COLLEEN HOOVER and friends has a Halloween theme with all kinds of goodies and of course a signed copy of a book AND I haven’t read this one yet so YAAAAYYYYYYYY

BUT here is the best part… my monthly subscription to get this wonderful gift every month – ALL GOES TO CHARITY!

So if you haven’t signed up for Colleen Hoover’s BOOKWORM BOOK… You guessed it… DO IT and DO IT NOW!!!

http://www.thebookwormbox.com

xoxo
PS I miss Ela (I think I need another pee break)

Tessa November 8, 2017 at 10:10 AM

What was the signed book this month Kooloo?

DG, I do want to read it. When I said sad, I meant if it were real. However, I’ve no problem when it’s in a book. :)

Kooloo November 8, 2017 at 10:16 AM
Tessa November 8, 2017 at 10:45 AM

Oooooh, awesome! :)

R. Renee November 8, 2017 at 10:55 AM

Heather Bentley’s Sweetest Heartbreak is live today! Only 99 cents! Leslie, I just ordered yours and sent it to your email.

Jean November 8, 2017 at 11:26 AM

Hi ladies!! Just now getting caught up on all the comments.

Malachi and I – - – I have to look that one up!!

I LOVED SWEETEST HEARTBREAK!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and seriously, great book!!! Leslie, you will love it!

R, do you need help going through stock photos? I assume this is for the cover of your book?!?……

Jean November 8, 2017 at 11:27 AM

Kooloo, I have Sweet as Sin…..I just love that cover!

Tasha J November 8, 2017 at 11:30 AM

1. I’m on a coffee break, I drink Decaf earl grey tea when I need something hot. I bought peppermint tea, but dk if I can drink it bc pregnant and also peppermint makes me sick (from bad drinking experiences in my teens)
2. I don’t get flu shot, nor do my kids. I’m seeing so much from them now, and it’s recommended when prego, I feel like maybe I should. But, I really don’t wanna!!
3. I’m loving Emma in the Night, it feels so good to be reading again!!

R. Renee November 8, 2017 at 11:43 AM

Thanks Jean! No it’s for the teasers. The cover is already out. Finding a series of stock photos that compliment each other for a teaser campaign is a pain in the rear. I think I made some headway though! Then I got an epiphany for my next book and started hunting H’s.

I need the following if anyone is bored in the next 6 months. Mid to late 20s, long blondish hair (around shoulder length), smoldering AND cute. He needs to have a great smile. <– This is where I get hung up. Hot long haired guys don't smile. Oh and he needs sort of a pretty boy face (which is why he wears his hair long so he doesn't look like he's in a boy band). I had Christopher Mason in my head, but he's not quite right.

D.G. November 8, 2017 at 1:15 PM

R – I am on it! Not a hard task – looking at pretties all day!

Jean, Yay! It is awesome!

Tessa, I figured that was what you meant and it would be …maybe…after you read it we can discuss…*winks*

Leslie M November 8, 2017 at 2:14 PM

Thanks R, I got my copy of Sweetest Heartbreak! Loooooooove the cover.

Funny about flu shot….I make my son get it but I have never had one.

bev November 8, 2017 at 3:52 PM

Makes me think of Charlie Hunnam.

R. Renee November 8, 2017 at 3:55 PM

He’s too rugged. I need a “pretty” face. Boyish.

Amy November 8, 2017 at 5:33 PM

OMG my blood pressure is through the roof. THROUGH THE ROOF!! Why why WHY do people look the other way when someone is being mistreated as if it is none of their business when it is EVERYONE’S business to step in!!! I was at the medical clinic and this old man was mistreating this incapacitated elderly woman who was obviously dependent on him for her care and he was being rough with her and calling her stupid, and when she started begging him for help with her leg because it slipped out of the little stirrup and she said she was in pain, he called her a liar and slammed her reclining wheelchair upright causing her to scream out in pain. And what does everyone around us do (all twenty or so!)? They all shake their heads and look away.

F&%K. THAT.

I went over and fixed her foot and she started crying and thanking me and then the a$$hole yells at me to leave her alone and that she just wanted attention. The F#$K you just say to me?? Oh no you didn’t just yell at me you bastard. I told him I WILL GIVE HER THAT ATTENTION THEN!!! Then she asks if I will stay with her and take care of her and I’m trying not to cry and he says he’s taking her outside WHERE IT IS RAINING AND COLD and she tries to grab onto me and begs me not to let him take her out there and she’s sobbing and EVERYONE IS JUST WATCHING AND THEN LOOKING THE OTHER WAY! And I’m raising my voice to him and he’s yelling at me to mind my own business and the medical staff is just walking around like nothing is happening.

So I got security who went to get social services because I swear to god I was going to get my a$$ thrown in jail for shoving that guy on HIS a$$.

What the actual F%@K people?!? You don’t hurt children or the elderly or the incapacitated, and you don’t look the other way when it happens!!!!

And now I’m crying again and I just want to scream because WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THAT?!? I need a drink NOW!!

Amy November 8, 2017 at 5:34 PM

Thanks for listening to me.

R. Renee November 8, 2017 at 5:37 PM

OMG Amy that is not OK! I’m so sorry! What a d0uch3! Do you know if SS was able to do anything?

Tessa November 8, 2017 at 5:59 PM

*hugs tight* That’s horrible! The hospital has security cameras too, right? I’m thinking if they need visual proof later. That poor woman.

Amy November 8, 2017 at 6:19 PM

By the time I left Social Services was there so I’m hoping they will intervene.

It’s so awful and heartbreaking and my lord can you imagine what it is like at home for her if he is like that in public??

Seriously ladies, thanks for the support. What a draining afternoon. :?

Leslie M November 8, 2017 at 6:28 PM

Amy, I am choking back tears. How awful! That poor woman. I am glad she had you to look out for her.

*big squishy hugs*

Kooloo November 8, 2017 at 6:31 PM

AMY you are amazing!!! I know the adrenaline is pumping and you are still upset at the shithead abuser and the loser lookers but YOU DID GOOD!

You showed that woman there is hope and people do really care and you should those lookers that it’s NOT ok to just stand by!

So take a big breath and know you the RIGHT THING today! And maybe… taught some others to do the right thing tomorrow!

Grey November 8, 2017 at 6:37 PM

Amy, deep breath love, you did the right thing. There are cameras. Again, you did the *right* thing. I am so proud of you. Our society as a whole, is so scared right now… but I am SOOO proud of you. You made a difference today. I love you! **hugs** Elder abuse is real, and it is sad and just wrong on a million different levels. But *you*, my dear, sweet, compassionate, fired up friend… YOU made a difference, and if I could be with you right now, we’d be doing shots at the nearest bar… and maybe indulging in a little… uh, well, you know… LOL!

Amy November 8, 2017 at 7:46 PM

I’m so choked up right now from the beautiful words of support.

I love you guys!!!

Maryse November 8, 2017 at 10:57 PM

OMG AMY!!!!! That would have freaked me out and I am so proud of you standing up for that woman. What will happen to her, I wonder??

*snuggles Amy*

Maryse November 8, 2017 at 10:58 PM

*brings Amy a nice whipped hot chocolate with melty-marshmallows and a splash (or two) of peppermint bark vodka*
:)

D.G. November 9, 2017 at 6:26 AM

Amy you are amazing! Not everyone has courage to stand and make a difference! You gave me tears this morning! Praying SS makes a huge difference in her life. *big hugs*

D.G. November 9, 2017 at 6:27 AM

*hugs up her cup* coffee anyone?

Leslie M November 9, 2017 at 8:02 AM

D.G., yes please. I have had two cups already, but I need one more jolt.

Tasha J November 9, 2017 at 9:24 AM

FLT- (the first paragraph, bc I like it ;) ) “We believe what we want to believe. We believe what we need to believe. Maybe there’s no difference between wanting and needing. I don’t know. What I do know is that the truth can evade us, hiding behind our blind spots, our preconceptions, our hungry hearts that long for quiet. Still, it is always there if we open our eyes and try to see it. If we really try to see.” – Emma in the Night: A Novel by Wendy Walker
I had to buy the stinking thing bc I only made it to 70% before the library stole it back….grrrr

Kooloo November 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM

Ooooo Tasha I one-clicked that one too…. don’t remember why lol
Anyway is it any good??

Grey November 9, 2017 at 10:08 AM

Alright, have you guys gotten in on the Book+Main craze yet? Do it! *throws all the glitter* OMG! I just spent my entire break this morning reading snippets, Emma Scott has a bunch of great ones and Christina Lauren had snippets from Will & Hanna, I was in 7th Heaven, he is one my ultimate book boyfriends, you know. Anyway, it’s free…

R. Renee November 9, 2017 at 10:10 AM

LOL Grey that took me on a long and winding detour last night! #AlexandCory #swoon

Tessa November 9, 2017 at 11:33 AM

What’s Book+Main?

No FLT yet, because The Consort by KA Linde was so good, I finished it off this morning. OH! If you like fantasy, go get The Affiliate by KA Linde. The series is not complete, (apparently not a trilogy like I thought) but it’s seriously good. Keep it on your TBR if you hate CH, though. lol It’s got a doozy!

Tessa November 9, 2017 at 11:43 AM

Oh, Amelia Hutchins gave the site with her profile. Got it!

Tasha J November 9, 2017 at 12:01 PM

It’s so good, Kooloo! Lol spell check tried to turn you into Kokomo or Kowloon. It says I have about an hr and 45 min left, and I REALLY want to know what happened/is going on! It’s a twisty puzzle that I think is done really well. I’m hoping to finish this afternoon or evening if I don’t get a chance. Darn life, always in the way. ;)

Jean November 9, 2017 at 2:39 PM

Grey, what is the Book+Main craze????

Tasha, you are making me want to read Emma in the Night! Keep me updated!

Amy – - *hugs* – - you absolutely did the right thing! You are a strong woman!!!!!

FLT: When we became friends, she was just Darlene McKenna. (Bodyguard by C.D. Reiss) – - – really liking it so far!!

Tessa November 9, 2017 at 3:02 PM
R. Renee November 9, 2017 at 3:08 PM

There are extra scenes from favorite books as well as scenes inspired by upcoming releases. Last night I OD’d on some of my faves, but it’s also really good for getting a feel for a writer you’ve never read. There’s everything from zero heat swoon to XXX.

Jean November 9, 2017 at 3:20 PM

Thanks guys! I’ll have to check it out tonight!

bev November 9, 2017 at 8:58 PM

About to do a re read….havent re read it in years. So, FLT:
