<— WEDNESDAY OCT 21st 2015 UPDATE!!!! This one finally went LIVE!!!! Ground Rules: Rewritten by Roya Carmen! YAY US!!!! Remember #1 that I went crazy for (the ummm… married couple *swap* that gets…
complicated).
Tee hee!! My review!
It’s ready!!! So many of our favorites have released good stuff today (Rachel Van Dyken, Alice Clayton, Jaci Burton, Ginger Scott, Terri Anne Browning, Shay Savage and more!), plus I’m finding a few “unknowns-to-me” that sounds like they could be everything we’re looking for. I highlighted ’em, too! 😀
Plus these are the ones that made me rub my hands together with reading-anticipation glee!! Okay so: Lev (recent release that I’m TOTALLY reading next. It sounds PERFECT for me, and so many keep messaging me telling me to READ IT NOW!!! YES MA’AM!!!! I’m on it)! Commodity (1st, ’cause it’s Shay Savage – hello YES!!!! But 2nd ’cause it sounds like a crazy end-pf-world as we know it dystopian and the women are a commodity. WHOA!!!) MINE! And… Wicked Restless (because I loved her bully in book #1, and this one sounds pretty hateful, too!!) and The Absence of Olivia sounds like an emotional one (she’s in love with him, but he falls for her best friend… and then her best friend dies), Pretty When You Cry (Skye Warren’s dark reads give me the creeps, but make me FEEL too, and this one sounds full-on DARK!) and Before the Storm (she’s in hiding under a new identity and becomes friends with a handsome man that just lost his wife…) and One Chance (he humiliated her in high school and she never thought she’d see him again, until he becomes her boss!! *gasp*!). Well those aren’t the only ones, I highlighted more below that sound amazing (like the one of the abused woman that sees a chance to run during the 9/11 disaster, and does!)… and well… you’ll see below. Lots of goodies to choose from!
Lisa: Yaaaaayyy. I love New Release day. Reading blurbs, squireling books, perusing book covers (why did perusing auto correct to perving *winks*), pre-ordering books that don’t release for 6 months (love something to look forward to) and searching for a new alpha book dom (the one stashed in my linen cupboard needs company). Thanks Maryse. 🙂
Maryse: I LOVE new release day, too! It’s like a treasure hunt every Tuesday!
Ela: Can’t wait for today’s full list 🙂
And don’t forget yesterday’s early 6 list (if you missed it)! Six Early Bird Book Releases.
OH AND! I’m posting the Kindle Fire, 7″ Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB – Includes Special Offers, Black release again, ’cause the deal is too great, and Tracey is loving it: “Doing a happy dance just discovered that the new kindle fire has a collections feature ….I can sort all my books in my Library now without having to download any apps. Another good thing about this new fire is when you start a new book it gives you the option to read the blurb….handy if its a book you downloaded a while back and you can’t remember what its about. …its really quite a little gem of a tablet , as yet haven’t needed too expand the storage (its got 8gb which in reality once you have it up and running is more like 4.5gb)” She says it has text to speech, too!
PLUS!!! Kindles are on sale today!!! Kindle, 6″ Glare-Free Touchscreen Display, Wi-Fi – Includes Special Offers and theAll-New Kindle Paperwhite, 6″ High-Resolution Display (300 ppi) with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi – Includes Special Offers!
Is it Christmas already? Or maybe someone is going to put these in my trick-or-treat bag!! Tee hee! 😀
P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).
P.P.S. Don’t have a Kindle? No problem! Amazon offers various free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser <— No need to download anything! )
AUDIOBOOK LVERS
For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free ebooks deal —>
- AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <—
This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). This way, you can switch back and forth, seamlessly between your ebooks and your audiobooks. VERY COOL!

I don’t want it to end, I don’t want it to end, I don’t want it to end! Loving every single thing about it!” AND THEN… “Did you read Lev? Read it in less than 24 hours and loved it!” and that BLURB HAS ME!! “When Mina Harris gets caught red-handed with a wallet that isn’t hers, she falls apart. She’s tired, lonely and hasn’t eaten in days. Lev offers her an ultimatum… A nice warm bed, a hot meal and a job, or the cops. Mina takes her chances with Lev.” and Lauren agrees: “Just finished Belle Aurora’s Lev….I am speechless. Best book I’ve read in months. MARYSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s not even 9am my time!!!! I haven’t warmed up my clicking finger. Thanks for the list as always :kissing_heart:
:-)*
The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan is only 99 cents. I saw that price and had to buy it. Maryse, that list is a little on the huge side. 92 new books? How are we supposed to keep up?
The Play by Karina Halle got release moved to 11/3
Keep… up?
*stares off into space*
LOL!!! 😛
Thank you Theresa!!! Fixed 😀
Ela I had my coffee this morning and was full of energy. Tee hee!!! 😛
Points to The Hook Up* Really, it has been on my TBR. I finally bought it.
Yeah, keep up. My biggest one is trying to keep up with my already growing TBR. The “Bought but unread” section is starting to drive me batty.
I was so excited about The Rocker #11, and then I saw the new Reed Brothers book coming out next week……squeeeeee! Yep and I got The Hook Up too….been wanting that one!
But ya know what really got me excited, The Absence of Olivia! Mine!! 99 cents! No brainer!
And I still need to read Untamed but it’s like I’m hoarding it! It’s sitting on my dining room table on display like a centerpiece! Lol!
Man, I’ll never catch up……
Okay I’m adding the Hook Up to the list too. 😀
Holy moly, The Absence of Olivia looks PAINFUL!!! And it’s mine. 😉
I originally clicked on this article to prove to myself that I’m not as bad as “those” women. Um… *rubs back of neck and blushes* Yeah. That’s not me at all.
Ummm… what article, Amy?
Oh wow. I’m the brightest bulb in the room today. 😛
https://www.yahoo.com/beauty/25-crazy-habits-that-sum-up-every-beauty-junkies-230518817.html
And we’re not going to talk about how only four of them don’t apply to me. 😉
Yep! The Absence of Olivia – MINE too! And RIP????? So sounds like up my mafia alley *snickers*…
Only 4 Amy???? I totally love popping zits….it’s like my hobby 😉
Ela, I thought Rip looks good too! Love Rachel Van Dyken and that cover is hot!
Amy, that article…..I have no words! You are so funny!
Ela. You do understand that only four do NOT apply to me, right? That means that 21 of them DO apply to me. 😐 And the cateye meme…LOL! Been there, done that. 😉
Jean, fess up…how many can you relate to? Hmmmm??
*taps foot and waits for Maryse’s tally from the article*
Totally got the message Amy! And YES agree with Jean, you are funny! Now I’m curious which 4 they are 😉
Ha, ha Amy. I can relate!! 😉
The Absence of Olivia sounds so painful!
Nuts and Firebird sound good, but first books in series?! Nope, so tired of series and starting them and then forgetting about the book by the time the next book is out…new rule: not starting series until complete. *crosses arms across chest and shakes head*…although The Ground Rules has my one-click finger antsy…
I only have two that apply to me. (Seriously, how can anyone trust tester make-up? *shudders* ) Yep, I peel my nail polish because it’s fun. 😛
See Amy! Tessa only has 2…
I wasn’t the biggest fan of The Ground Rules however I’m still checking for The Ground Rules Rewritten release AND IT SAYS TODAY SO WHY IS IT NOT OUT???
I’m not sure I can find two for myself..I’m such an outcast. :-/
WHO IS READING The Absence of Olivia???
Holy ANGST !!! I can’t !! No I can!! ARGHHHH
I will copy Maryse
*stares off into space*
Oh my… I’m reading Dirty Red… but some of these look delicious…
The Absence of Olivia sounds angsty and painful. One clicking lol
Oh that list was funny but I think only 5 apply to me.
*scrolls up to find article link*
I’m with ya Anne! I think I can attribute like maybe only a few to myself! Although I’m very good at collecting all sorts of beauty products but then I end up storing them and not using, it’s the hoarding that I like, just like with books!
Grey! DO NOT STRAY OFF DIRTY RED AND THEN THIEF! You are also allowed to vent loudly while reading Dirty Red and I mean screaming at the top of your lungs venting! When I think about some of the sh*t that woman pulled I get angry all over again and it’s been 3 years since I read it X-(

#5 – neither one of us file much – right now… I have no nails to speak of.
#6 – eyelash separatist – that is ME!!!! YES. I can’t do clumpy ever, or I’ll start again, or out comes the needle. Eye;ash combs are too thick to even work.
Sister doesn’t even think of worrying about that. She didn’t even know this was a thing. LOL!!!!
#7 – sister rarely applies SPF and loves sun…
I rarely apply because I hiss at the sun. IF sun touches my skin, I hiss and run for shade and hiss at anyone that tells me to come out into the sun.
#8 = if we do our nails they better be perfect. We have both completely redone a nail or 10 if need be. There has been hissing at the bad nail polish jobs too.
#9 = every single makeup product of Maryse’s is separated into containers and standing proudly showing off their colors and brands. Liners in one, mascaras in another, lipsticks in another, glosses in another, brushes in another… ahhhhh perfect!!
Sister = everything in one bag. She just side-eyed me.
#10 – makeup brush cleaning
I do… just not compulsively… and my sister never does. Just buys new ones.
#11 – nail polish peeling… OUCH! No. Just remove it with remover and start again, or sit on my hands so I don’t have to look at them.
#12 – perfect part? Maryse = no – i prefer a messy voluminous part. My sister doesn’t obsess but it always just parts the same way.
#13 – sister nail polish = addiction.
Maryse always uses the same two colors. I try many, I always revert back to the same two.
#14 – perfect cat eye for both of us… even if it’s a thin one. I will even start all over again.
#15 – zits are gross. Don’t wanna talk about those. Is that a zit. KILL IT!
#16 – overstock product for fear of discontinue = YES for both of us. If one discontinues, I will buy a box of it, if I can find it.
#17 – sister does not worry about split ends… I obsessively stare at them and hiss. Hence me cutting my own hair. LOL!
#18 – no nail technician = no nails. I’m good with that for now. Sister too.
#19 – Maryse LOVES all hair, and makeup tutorials. Sister says sometimes, but when she does she gets caught up for hours.
#20 – Not a sharer of makeup.
#21 – skin care ritual – sister rarely has a nighttime ritual, I do every night but about 15 minutes (unless it’s a mask night!!)
#22 – fake eyelashes – maryse loves!! precision nice!! Sister does not wear them ever.
#23 – I only have Ipsy. My sister just learned about these…
#24 – makeup removal – both of us YES!!
White Hot (Hidden Legacy #2) by Ilona Andrews release date has been push back to 2016
LOL Maryse!! I wasn’t expecting that kind of response…and I love that you gave your sister’s tally, too!
The only four which don’t apply to me are obsessive SPF 70 application (unless I’m going to be in the sun for hours), trying to get a perfect part, eliminating split ends (that’s what my stylist/BFF is for ;)) and being closer to a nail technician than my hubby (I am my own nail technician :P).
Grey, you’re on Dirty Red? I loved that one because even though she was doing some rotten stuff, it was great to see her in turmoil. Hell, I LOVED her inner turmoil after her role in The Opportunist. 😀
Fabi…outcast? So far it looks like only relating to a few from the list is the norm around here…not even going to think about what that says about me! 😉
Absence of Olivia is tempting, but I’m going to wait for some feedback before diving in. For now I’m reading The Murmurings as my spooky read ’cause SOMEONE said something about The Girl With All the Gifts but then left me hanging. *hrmph* She knows who she is.
Maryse, lets pick you out a new winter nail color!! We’ll vote.
I am not even going to read as not a beauty junkie. Curious has any one here used May Lindstrom skincare? Wanna try.
Finished Dirty Red. Holy Sweet Mother Mary Mother Of F@*k… All I have are expletives…
Grey, I know! But the last book is sooooooo awesome! I’m so jealous you are reading the series for the first time!
Amy- I have 5 that relate to me. :0
Not sure what I’m reading next. Gonna look at my tbr list.
Also just came across answer about Nuts- Standalone in a series of interconnecting characters. Yeh! Maybe that’s my next read.
Amy you killed me I read if he had been with me. Oh how I loved it
Okay Amy… I wanna read Girl with all The Gifts as soon as Im finished Lev. Wanna???
Okay I’m reading Lev right now. Who’s reading Lev? Who has read Lev?
I’m so excited! 😀
I’m in, Maryse! 😀 I’ll be reading through The Murmurings while you’re reading Lev, then it’s on to TGWATG. (Tell me you see the questionable word in that acronym *snicker*)
LOL Grey!! That’s exactly what I would expect to hear after you’ve read DR…at least you don’t have to wait for Thief like the rest of us did. 😉
No, no, NO Cheryl! You’re supposed to say you have 5 that DON’T relate to you so I’m not alone in being a junkie! Hmmm, I’m still holding out hope for Michelle though with her numerous MAC palettes…
Aw Milissa…that’s a tough read but SOOOOO worth it, huh? Here… *hands stuffed manatee to Milissa* And this… *pours glass of plum wine for her* And most importantly… *biiiigggg hug*
Amy… you mean GWAT?
LOL! 😛
*snickers*
Wait Amy!
I answered yes to the majority of the makeup junkie questions. maybe even more than you… so you’re definitely not alone.
Grey glad you’re enjoying Opportunist/Dirty Red/Thief. Isn’t it interesting being inside her twisted mind and gloriously satisfying watching it all implode.
I’ve been side eyeing TGWATG for a while. Maybe I need to jump in with you guys. But it will be Friday (at least) before I’m done with my current book. I wanted to read Lev too, but my reading is as slow as molasses right now. It’s a busy time of the year for work, plus we are packing so we can move in a couple of weeks. *sigh* I think my New Year’s resolution is going to be to work less next year.
BTW…I found one that I can claim in your list Amy…obsessively filing the perfect nail shape. Of course, that only happens when I have nails to file. But still, I feel better that I found at least one girly thing I still do. I used to do most of them when I was young…been a while. LOL
Ugh, still haven’t decided on a book. Still looking thru my tbr list, without anything catching my interest. Seem to remember some comments on The End Game…anyone read that?
Starting RIP…
Maybe I’ll read The End Game, but I’ve read a couple sports stories lately and that were college aged…BUT I’m wanting something that involves “grown-ups” and “real-life” complicated issues. Yes, I know The Ground Rules would be perfect, IF it was a complete series!! UGH!!
Anyone have any suggestions??
For those waiting for Ground Rules Rewritten by Roya Carmen it JUST WENT LIVE!! SO I added it to the top of the blog post as an update. 😀
*squeee*!!
“grown-ups”, ” real life” *runs the other way* LOL nope, no suggestions for you 😉
LOL Fabi!! 🙂
May I suggest mafia and blood???
Yay Maryse! Thanks, just got Ground Rules Rewritten…..no cover though until I actually open it in my Kindle. Weird but who cares!
Maryse, how are you liking Lev? He’s so different than our normal characters, but so easy to love!
Mafia and blood?? Let me look that up…
Ela, who is the author?
Yes, Maryse, that is EXACTLY the word I was thinking of. *snort* Hang on, I gotta go back and look at your list…
Rip by Rachel Van Dyken
Okay, you ARE right up there with me on hat list! Your “sister info” threw me off. Because, again, I’m the brightest bulb in the room. 😉
Fabi, yes! Join us in reading TGWATG. And insert Maryse’s creepy “jooooiiiin usssssssss” phrase. 😛
I have to know before I start the Ground Rules series…does the second book make it complete? Anyone know?
Amy – no there’s a third book in the Ground Rules series…
&$%@#$&!!!!!
I take it that was a very colorful string of words???
Yeah what Amy just said!!!! &$@#$@*&!!!!!
Hey Maryse. Wanted to let you know that Beneath this Mask by Megan March is free today!
How about Best passage Wednesday? Because I just found mine….
Taken from Thief by Tarryn Fisher
“I love him.”
I cross the kitchen in two seconds. I grab her upper arm so she can’t get away and lean down until I’m right in her face. She has to see truth. My voice sounds more animal than human; a growl.
“More than me?”
The light drains from her eyes and she tries to look away.
I shake her. “More than me?”
“I don’t love anything more than I love you.”
Oh. My. God. Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the absolute perfection of that passage, I need to go dance in a meadow Julie Andrews style after reading that… Maybe curl up in the blankie fort with a crate full of manatees, drink wine and eat chocolate!
GREY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’RE MAKING ME WANT TO RE-READ THE BOOKS….
Amy, right there with you. I so want to read TGR, BUT nope not till complete and book 3 is not being released until prob. January. Damn, it’s just what I want right now too.
Thanks Ela, I’ll look at Rip right now…
Grey, I’m jealous of you reading Thief. That’s exactly the kind of book I’m craving right now. * pouts*
I missed a lot!
Milissa, it’s good, isn’t it? Here! *hands over a tissue*
Okay, found that And After, (Until the End of the World) by Sarah Lyons Flemings is on sale for 99 cents. I bought it, but do NOT think that means I’m jumping in to it right away! From what I hear, it’s gonna break my heart.
Finished Shadow’s Edge by J.T. Geissinger. It was alright. The secondary characters were flat to me, and the action scenes were fast and almost had a band-aid on it.
*stares at Grey’s passage* I’ll get to it eventually, really!
TESSA!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE NOT READ THE LOVE ME WITH LIES SERIES????????????
Not yet. Next angsty moment I have, I will. It sounds good; that’s why I bought it. 🙂 However, Ive got to want angsty to jump into it. I’m odd like that.
Grey, I’m having fun re-living that series through you. *sigh* I love TF’s writing.
Nuh-uh Tessa. *shakes head* Take my word for it, it’s a little too soon after IHHBWM for you to read And After…and you know how much I love And After. I swear, the wound on my heart from And After reopens every time I hear it mentioned. But y’all know how much I love for that to happen. 😉
😀 I agree! I’m in an HEA mood, so The Hook Up is perfect. I’m only on chapter one, but the love at first sight moment alone has me happy. She’s all, ‘WTF? Nope, imagining. Not gonna happen. Stupid jock.’. Heeheehee
Just started TGR Rewritten!!! This series is so addicting! Its a story you wont forget so in my opinion you can read the first 2 now. The 3rd book will be released in January. Thank goodness my easygoing husband doesn’t care when I don’t cook. I will have my face buried in my Kindle tonight!!
Shirley I agree. This is one you won’t forget in between books. Loved the first one and can’t wait to start the second book!
And Ela, I agree with you! Grey is making me want to reread the whole series! The passage she wrote made my heart thump! Lol! How are you liking Rip?
Hey Jean! I’m liking it but I have so many questions/theories and no answers! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I read a review on GR that the ending was rushed and questions unanswered but this is supposed to be a standalone. While other reviews are pure perfection, so I’ll see for myself what I think with the ending.
Keep me updated Ela! I love Rachel Van Dyken!
Tessa…omg, you’ve never?!? I thought I was the last holdout… You should, you really, really should. Oh the feels…I want to throw things and hurt people!
Tessa I agree, you have to move that series up on your list! I’m very agreeable today! Lol
Grey I am envious you are just discovering Love Me with Lies. That perfect paragraph. Wish I could go back and have all those feels for the first time too. Re-reading is never the same.
I’m reading Firebird and its tense and angsty and well written. Not like other hockey hero books that’s for sure. The H is prickly and conceited and wounded (reminds me of Kulti). It’s a second chance scenario with cheating (yikes… Im so glad I didn’t know about ‘that’going in because I don’t deal) but I have a feeling a twist is brewing and it might be painful…..
Lisa, now Firebird really sounds like what I am looking for, BUT noticed it says trilogy. Can’t find anything whether it is a standalone with an interconnected story or a true trilogy. Do you know?
Why is everything I want to read, book 1 or 2 of a trilogy?? *big sigh*
I hope authors start getting the message. We want stand-alones – or at least a series where each book begins and ends.
Yes Fabi!!!!!
Cheryl….Whaaaat??? I didn’t get the trilogy message about Firebird!! Aaarrgh..Now I’m bummed. I’ve sworn off of cliffy’s with no follow up for months. That’s why I’m holding off on Ground Rules.
I don’t even want to count how many series Ive started then never finished because I’ve forgotten the premise or just gotten over the whole ‘waiting…waiting…oh part two is out, but do I even care anymore’.
I totally agree Fabi. More stand alones please.
Yup, I’ve lost track of my unfinished series too. Up ’till last year I was trying to keep up with them. I even had an unfinished series category in my Kindle. But it got so overwhelmingly large…and honestly, I lost interest. There are too many new, great authors publishing nowadays. If an author can’t give me a complete book I really don’t have the time nor the inclination to try to follow along anymore. Oh…did I forget to mention the frustration of getting to the end of a book and realising it has no ending? Bah!
Exactly Fabi.
I read so many books its impossible to keep up with unfinished series when I can get the gratification of a complete story in a stand alone.
I’m not against stand alone stories within a series…like a book about each couple…nicely resolved and complete, then on to the next couple.
Oh I’m frustrated now. Think I’ll put Firebird aside until I know if its going to leave me hanging.
Di you know Maryse??
Lisa, who is it by?
Bev. It’s Jennifer Loring. 🙂
Bev its by Jennifer Loring. Don’t know how I missed ‘trilogy’ because its in brackets after the title. Mmmmm. I need more sleep.
Lisa I emailed the author and she said “It follows the same main characters throughout all three books.” Not sure if there is a cliffhanger or not, but definitely not a standalone.
Guess that goes on my waiting for sequels list.
Thank you Cheryl. I’m shelving it then and standing strong on not reading series until theyre complete. Sorry Jennifer Loring.
Lisa- I know I felt bad after emailing the author, but I will read the series when it is complete. Probably buy the first book now as a reminder.
What the heck???? I’m glad you emailed the author Cheryl cause I AM NOT GETTING STUCK IN ANOTHER CLIFFY SEQUEL! And if the books follow the same sequel then it’s a definite cliffy for me.
So I finished RIP and I wasn’t too thrilled with that ending! One MAJOR factor got swept under the rug so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more books to follow.
Oh and The Starkest Truth (Breaking Insanity #2) by Courtney Lane is live. Sequel to the Sordid Promise, which I loved and didn’t think it needed a sequel but alas there is one.
You said it perfectly, Fabi. 😉
First line Thursday!
“I’m supposed to wonder why Gregor Samsa is a cockroach.” ~ The Murmurings by Carly Anne West
Does anyone remember the story she is talking about, The Metamorphosis? Sheesh, it’s 100 years old already. I had to pick it apart and analyze it until my head hurt for a class, but I still remember how sad it made me. It STILL makes me sad. 😕
“Because Roxie Callahan wasn’t going to go down the same path as her mother, bounding from relationship to relationship with a kid in one hand and a Harlequin romance novel in the other, saddled with a usually in-th-red diner and waiting for the next man to sweep her off her Birkenstocked feet.” Nuts, Alice Clayton
Amy & Ela, your first lines are awesome!
I don’t have one this week because I’m still reading the same book as last week. (I should be embarrassed)
So sorry Fabi! And I am so with you on the sequels trend!
The Metamorphosis gave me nightmares back in high school!
Fabi, RL sucks sometimes…especially when it gets in the way of reading! Hang in there. *hugs*
Ela, I can see why you would get nightmares, lol! When I was reading and analyzing it, I just kept wanting to take care of Gregor so he wouldn’t feel so sad. 🙁 And I didn’t like his dad AT ALL.
My first line is boring today, but the book is awesome!!!!!!
“The sound of something breaking jerked me awake.” (The Rocker Who Betrays Me #11 by Terri Anne Browning) Love this series!
Anna Jones just wants to finish college and figure out her life.
The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan
Really, again, it’s better than that line. It’s making me do this 😀 A lot!
You’re brave, Jean. I like that series but the word “betray” in the title makes me squirmy…and not in the good way. I haven’t read the blurb so I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t wanna end up hating the H ’cause he does something stupid!
Ela, I want to read Nuts- let me know what you think of it.
“It’s all supposed to be over. Right?” BEWARE 2: The Comeback by Shanora Williams.
I listened to book one (used the matchmaker) and wanted to do the same with book 2, but book 2 doesn’t have this.*Disappointed*
Amy, I was nervous too but its not a betrayal like you may be thinking. It happens when they are young and then they meet up again years later. Sooo freaking good!
Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve commented bc it takes me forever to read a book anymore. Fabi, don’t be embarrassed, it takes me 2-4 weeks *sometimes more* to read a book lately:( A couple years ago it would have been 4-5 days at most…I blame fall bc it is the absolute busiest time of the year for me – this year more so bc it’s our first year of school and my baby is at that age where he’s walking and into anything and everything (yikes!) lol. So the last book I read was Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica, I totally thought it was a continuation of The Good Girl, which it is not. I really like it but was a little disappointed with the ending, it just wasn’t what I expected after reading TGG. But still, 4 stars for me. And from this list I’ve started Commodity by Shay Savage, I’m 34% in so far and loving it! As for my next read, I have my eye on Illuminae by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Have any of you heard of this? Thoughts??
Tasha, Commodity has been calling my name because…Shay Savage! I love her books! Let me know how you like it when you finish.
Illuminae rings a bell but I don’t know anything about it. *off to Amazon to investigate*
*quickly back from Amazon* O downloaded a sample of Illuminae. Gah! It sounds good!
Hey Guys!
Did you know that Carnage by Lesley Jones has a third book coming out October 29th. It’s called Marley! This is Sean’s best friend telling his side of the story. I know it’s going to be a sob fest just like the other two books, but I’m going in when that book hits my kindle. One of my favorite series of all times!!!
Anyone read The Watchers series by Veronica Wolff???
Jean do you have to read that series in order? The Rocker series. Little daunting since it’s what on #11?!
Carnage 3?!? *eye starts twitching* You’re a brave lady, Robyn. This was me by the time I finished book 1…
https://replygif.net/835
LMAO Amy!!
Cheryl, they are all standalones. Honestly, to date, number one is my favorite, but you can start on any of them.
The Hook Up is seriously everything I love in my HEA books. Angst, no over whiny, happy twirling moments, sad moments that make you want to hug everyone. It’s just wonderful.
Ok so I’m at 56% in Commodity, and OMG!! I’m nervous and anxious and I wasn’t expectng *that* to happen
^^my update so far lol
Ela I am reading Nuts too and loving it! Its hilarious!!
Cheryl, have you seen the movie that gif is from? Scott Pilgrim Versus the World…OMG it’s so funny in the most asinine way! The plot is dumb and it has all of these ridiculous things that happen in it, but for some reason it all works. Especially if you like Michael Cera. And Chris Evans. 😉
Tasha, quick question…is it her POV or his? Be quiet peanut gallery!
Amy, it is from both his and hers. I’m at 90% and I’m stopping for the night. But it’s so good! In my opinion it’s up there with Transcendence. Obviously a very diff story, but in a sense I get the same feels. I really like the characters and it’s similar like with the slight humor and still the seriousness of it and the romance and of course I love the whole apocalypse part. I’m especially liking it from about halfway on, even though I enjoyed the beginning as well.
Thanks, Tasha! I’ve been kind of shying away from dual POVs lately, but I would make an exception for that author. 😉
Tasha! I’m so excited now!!!! If Commodity is anything like Transcendence I will love it!
Amy!!!!!!!! That was me too after Carnage #1 and I did not like that book at all it just pissed me the F%^^&()&%&**(&(&*^&%^%$#####!!!!!!! Hence I refuse to read any further in the series!
Sadly, I didn’t love Nuts but liked well enough. It just seemed like a story I’ve read before so many times and although I love Alice Clayton’s humor this one seemed forced a tad TO ME.
So I take it nobody read The Watchers series by Veronica Wolff???
Finished Commodity! And in only a little over a day whoo!! 😀 lol. I liked it very much and I think you guys will too. Ela, it’s a very small feeling of Transcendence. Really more just the feelings that I got and it’s been a long time since I’ve read it so I hope you aren’t disappointed! 4.5 -5 stars for me 🙂
Thanks for the feedback Tasha. I think it’s going to be my next read. I am such a huge fan of Shay Savage’s work.
Finished Rocker #11!!! Loved it soooo much! This series rocks and I really think you need to read the series in order. I know its daunting but all the characters continue throughout the series. The main characters from book 1 were in book 11, including many others from previous books.
So now I’m stumped as to what to read next…..Tessa has me wanting to read The Hook Up, Tasha has me wanting to read Commodity…and The Ground Rules Rewritten is screaming for me!
Jean….The Hookup. Its a great book particularly if you liked the Deal.
I think I’m going to start Rip today. I love her mafia books, so I’m curious. I have to admit, I keep re-reading Elite, but am on book 5 of that series. A stand alone might throw me back into it.
Finished Cutters Vs Jocks. It was okay. A little too rushed, and I couldn’t enjoy all the moments of falling in love. Definitely more tell than show.
