Good morning!!!! Her Submission & Cruel Fortune!!! Happy Tuesday to me!! I finished Method omg I freaking loved it. I couldn’t put it down. Did you finish it Maryse? So much angst now I’ve decided to read Drive. Hope it’s as good. Ohhh & Bossy Bullies love that new category!!
Not yet Lisa… but I’m planning on finishing it today. Eeeeeep!! I keep hearing awesomeness!!!
Method sounds just too angsty for me 🙁
I had two books come in last night that I totally forgot about.
The Tiger at Midnight and New Orleans Rush about a ……..Magician! Except a cute cover.
It made me laugh when I read the synopsis.
*goes to look up the magician one*
Extra coffee this a.m. please
Oh I did NOT wake up easily this morning… my coffee was much appreciated.
Off today to take my kiddo to a Peds Gastroenterologist…sigh, wish it were for a better reason as it is gorgeous today. But at least I’m with him and not stuck at work.
Just finished a beta and now am debating what’s next. Um…bossy bullies, you say?
Bossy bullies are tumultuous and infuriating and it’s so fun to hate them and fall for them… ’cause occasionally their “soft side” comes out. 😉
I keep hearing R. K. Lilley’s newest called Arranged is out today, but can’t find it anywhere. Anyone have any inside knowledge?
I’m having the same problem Cody!! Where the heck can I get it?
Glad it’s not just me! She said on Instagram she hit publish, so I dunno.
Okay it just went LIVE!!! I posted it above right at the top, so you can’t miss it. 🙂
Thanks Maryse!
It’s on Amazon now!
Yup it’s live and I’ve just downloaded a sample 😀
Good morning ladies!!! Trying to be around this week! LOL!
You’re one of those Goodreads girls now.
No bev…..I am totally swamped with work this year……don’t even have time for GR really! I have so many books screaming at me to read them, and I just don’t have the time!!!!!! Love ya!!
I’m feeling you, Jean. I was swamped with getting the blog updated and moved and that took a few weeks trying o find the right server for our needs etc, and now finally just settling into reading again.
I’m glad you’re back. <3
*hugs*
She is our favorite.
Jean rocks!!
Awww thanks Leslie!
Hi Jean. *waves*
Hi Jan!!!
Missed you, Jean! I’ve been a bit absent lately too, and I’m excited to get my book family back!
So glad its a Tuesday! Rough morning, #2 son need car that I needed, no coffee…..so glad for release day! Browsing what to read right now!!! Love your lists Maryse!!!!
*snuggles Michelle*
Thank you, Michelle!!!! A morning with no coffee is ROAR!!!!! 😉
Oooo, you guys…..I loved Under the Northern Lights by S.C. Stephens!!
Comment:…I’m looking forward to reading that one!!
Comment:…Someone needs to clue me in on how to change my icon…I can’t handle to angry/shocked tomato anymore…help!
Gravatar.com Go in and sign up with your email address. Upload photo, crop and voila! 🙂
Comment:…Thanks Tessa – I’ll work on it later…
At least you don’t look like a piece of poop with string bean arms!!! LOL!!!!!!
Comment:…LOL!!!
Ha ha ha. I never noticed that till you pointed it out.
OMG! LOL! What were you before? I can’t even remember.
OMG, y’all are all cracking me up. There’s a pic of a little monster on mine when I type a comment. If I didn’t have my Gravatar Outlander image, would that be my icon/avi/whatever it’s called?
I haven’t been reading. I’m not even sure it’s a funk. It feels like I’ve accepted that I have no time and possibly *gasp* have given up? SEND HELP!
Also, I’m looking at a puppy tomorrow. A double doodle, not a bernedoodle. I’m not sure if this is a monumentally bad idea or not. My guy is 12 now, I have a baby. But, it’s just so tempting. He reminds me of my girl I lost last year.
Babies and puppies go great together. Yeah, a lot of work, but those two will grow up adoring one another. 🙂
Gah! No one has been a voice of reason for me yet, it must be a sign.
I’m all for the puppy!
I will be, lol.
Just remember puddles and piles, chewed up toys, shoes, clothes. Potential to get in the garbage and chewed up diapers. 3 months of shots is it for a puppy? Plus heartworm and twice the amount of food. Well 2 different types of food.
Thank you, Bev. These are the things I think about. My dogs were chewers till senior years. There is no way he can get in my trash, cuz everything is baby proof. Puddles and piles are the worst and still happen from time to time with my senior to this day. Very rarely, but still. I always say dogs are worse than kids, they never grow up. And vet bills and grooming fees! We’ve always been there, but to think we’d be doing it x2 again. And so sometimes I think, it’d be no different then now, I just wouldn’t get that break I wanted before we did it again. But then, my two older kids are ready for a play pal. They adore the new dog Grandma got a while back. They go there just for the dog. Lol. And this one is so stinking cute. I have no will power. Perfect size and temperament. And low shed, hopefully.
I’m 100 percent pro dog. Especially kids and dogs. But they come with quirks…..all of them, lol. Just adopted a dog and wasnt told about her anxiety or that she is a Houdini. So….lots of unexpected fun with that. But cant give her up cause at 7 shes been given up so much that is probably where her anxiety comes from.
I know, I know. You never know what to expect personality wise. I got so lucky with the 2 that I had, 1 still have. Perfect dogs all around, despite their awful chewing. I’m only going to meet him, hehe. And he’s really young, so to an extent, can be trained.
I’m new. This is weird. I’ve been a monster for so long.
LOL!!!!
OMG I SEE THE TASHA J!!!!!!!!!! Pretty!!!! 😀
🙂 Thanks!
Do I need to say I adore the bully set up? *grins* I noticed it’s JUST starting to be a trope for writers to write. FINALLY. 😛 Bad Bad Bluebloods (seriously, the name sucks!) by CM Stunich kept the drama running after her last book. 5*d it. 🙂
Maryse, I feel like sending you my pre-order list. lol I always have random, unknown PNR on it.
Out today:
Nightworld Academy; Term One by LJ Swallow
Boys Over Powers: A Paranormal Academy Series (A Witch Among Warlocks Book 2) by Lidiya Foxglove (reading now)
I apparently missed Fallen Academy, Year 4 by Leia Stone came out! EEP!
I’m going to update the main “Bully Recommendations List” with some of the new ones you’ve loved, Tessa. :D!!
😀 I’m trying to keep up with them. And I don’t count RH where only one is a bully type. It’s not the same AT ALL. (Though, I still like that too)
Oh and to support my theory, look at the bottom of this page of “customers also bought” https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07QBYGH7P/?coliid=I1427FPRCPFWYF&colid=4A5HFAM3D02Z&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Don’t forget everyone… Tessa just reminded us:
if you want to change your image/avatar icon from the silly monster, go here:
https://gravatar.com
Go in and sign up with your email address. Upload photo, crop and voila! 🙂
Poppin in to say hi and testing to see if I need to do the avatar thingy. I’ve been in the cave. With Nay! *wink, wink* 😀 Yeah, I’m delirious. I have 22 hrs and 45 minutes before Riders goes to the formatter!
And woop! No avatar change!
I had to click the new avatar and then say, “yes, use this one” at the bottom.
Eeeeeeeep!!!! *bounces*
Okay. I know us from California are wimps when it comes to weather changing fast. I acknowledge this and am okay with this. So, my wimp out moment is today. 90 degrees! It’s only 4pm and it’s 90 degrees! Saturday, it hit a high of 64. 0.0 36 degrees difference! *melts*
GASP!!!
It was in the 50’s last night but 85’s today. Spring is here!
*Glares at this “Spring” causing the heat*
Yep, I’m in Cali too and we went from gorgeous mid 70s on Saturday to currently 90 degrees. And it hasn’t topped out at yet.
Right? Currently 91. UGH It’s spring! Not summer!
*tosses Wednesday glitter…and K-pods*
Good gravy, this week feels like it’s been 2 weeks long, and it’s only Wednesday…😐
What’s everyone reading this week?
Grey, I hope everything ok with your son.
I have been reading (listening to) The Birthday List which feels like forever. There is nothing wrong with it, but it feels very long. This book slump is awful because I am not loving anything anymore.
I’m on the third book of the Eagle Elite Series, Entice, by Rachel Van Dyken!!! CHASE!!!! But so many books are calling my name!!!
I’m reading The One from a few days ago. Not the Selection series, but one where he sees her picture and knows right away she’s the one. 🙂
How is it so far, Tessa?
Just started, so know idea. 🙂 It’s cute so far? I am just on chapter two or three.
I don’t know about anyone else, but allergies are kicking my butt! I wake up with a headache everyday! And so congested! The pollen here is coating everything…… yellow everywhere!!!
Good Morning.
Iced coffee in my hydroflask for me this week as it has been around 80 all week. I love cold but this year I’m really ready for warm sunny days.
I’m adding this for Jean because it is fun and catchy and she sounds like she needs a fun catchy start to her spring day.
https://youtu.be/VQFtpdXRrrc
I haven’t had an iced-coffee in ages… I love those.
I made one the other day. My hazelnut-creamered coffee got cold, so I just put some ice in it and it was yum! I don’t know why I don’t do that more often. Probably because I suck them down when they’re cold and in no time I’m bouncing off the walls. When I drink hot coffee, it never makes me feel jittery of buzzed.
I am on Flonaise. There is no way I’d go through this season without it. The pollen never gets to the point of pollen everywhere yellow, but I’m allergic to jasmine, dandelion, conifer bushes, pine, citrus trees… lol And jasmine is EVERYWHERE around here.
Ok, so I finally finished The Birthday List. (It took me two weeks) It was just ok. 🙁
I *think* most of you will like it. I have a hard time with long books that are slow paced. They just don’t hold my interest.
I think I’m gonna start my re-read of Waiting for the Sun in prep for Riders on the Storm. I need to do more re-reads of old faves.
I did it. I got the puppy. He’s the cutest little thing and I wanna pet him all the time cuz he feels so cool. His temp/permanent name is Wrigley. The adjustment period is going to be the hardest, I think. Would be super awesome if school was out for the summer already.
We wanna seeeeee!!!!
OMG, that’s awesome! Do the kids know you got it already?
So freaking cute!!!
Testing…
Fail. Lol, I’ll try again.
🙂
There! I dk why it wasn’t working. Hard to see on a gravatar. He moves so much, I can’t get the best shot. I’ll email you a few. My oldest doesn’t know, she’ll see him in an hour. I bet she cries. Lol!
Soooooo CUTE
Thanks! I sent you an email so you can see him better.
Adorable!
awwwww
So cute!!
I am reading pieces of us by A.L. Jackson. I want to punch him in the face!!! Past 63% and it made me cry!!!
Gah…I love it!
GASP!!! I LOVE that reaction. I wonder what it was?? Don’t tell me!!! Sounds like my kind of read…
Alright, issue with The One. He’s dyslexic and 39 years old. How old is this author and how much does she know about dyslexia and its history? It actually says, “they didn’t know much about dyslexia when I was a kid”. Uh… yes they did. A LOT about it. Heck, my sister was16 years older than me and she had dyslexia. She was diagnosed early in grade school and they helped her learn because it’s NOT UNCOMMON! *pounds head*
Not saying it’s not hard to deal with and really makes learning and reading difficult, but the statement, they didn’t know much about it? UH? WTF?
DNF’d the book. 🙁 Too much leaking over cuteness. *wrinkles nose*
FLT:
The curdled cream in my coffee should’ve been the tip-off that today was going to be craptastic.
The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting
This one showed up off waiting list from library so I am giving it a try. It’s a second chance romance and I love that trope, so let’s hope it’s good. However, nothing beats Ghosted.
Love the first line! Good luck Leslie!
I just one-clicked that one a week or so ago. It’s sounds fun!!
Hope you love this one–fingers crossed!
FLT: Eulogies are bullshit.
Method by Kate Stewart— this is the first line of Chapter 1…..
Thank you, Jean, for saving me time. *copies and pastes*
FLT:
“Eulogies are bullshit.”
Method by Kate Stewart
And, of course, I’m still reading ☂ Riders on the Storm ☂ as well. 😁😁😁 This week I’ll give the first line of the prologue:
“Where are we?” Francesca asks as we step off the elevator into Fox Independent’s new Austin office.
Ooooo ROTS……jealous!!
I know someone who might have ARCs ready tomorrow… 😉
Hmmmm…….. who could that be?
FLT:
After twelve years of performing in the West End, Freddy Carlton had racked up her fair share of unfortunate experiences. Bitchy co-stars. Costume malfunctions. Having to stage-snog people with whom she’d had bad dates and even worse sex.
from The Austen Playbook by Lucy Parker. I’m about halfway through, and it’s quite enjoyable so far.
