➔➔➔ Get Maryse’s Book Blog updates delivered by email (you’ll get one daily email that will have each post from that day consolidated on it).
Good morning! I swear my coffee needs coffee.
That Tarryn Fisher one sounds intriguing even though I’m not usually into mystery/suspense-ish stories.
Maryse, I am excited for new format of blog. Will there be a way to search? For example, a few weeks ago Tasha, LisaM and others rec’d books to me and I wanted to try to find post but couldn’t.
Yes there will be a search bar right in the header. You can’t miss it. I tested it yesterday and it was very precise. I was happy!!
And also… it’s going to be pretty much the same layout, but a bit more “breathing” room. Only one column to the right, instead of two (all the same features in that column, though)… allowing the “post” section a bit more width.
Menu across the top will be exactly the same.
Good morning!! I swear my tea needs tea!! Lol. I couldn’t resist!! Oh The Wives looks good & I feel the same Leslie M. I normally don’t read those types of books either. Maybe we could buddy read it. I just finished Ugly Beast by Sam Crescent, MC & Mafia what could be better. Hmmmm what to read. next??
I AM IN on that buddy-read, no ifs, ands or buts!!! I can’t wait for it!
Maryse, that all sounds great!!
We will def have to do big BR when the T. Fisher book comes out. 🙂
*tosses -needs- glitter* 😆 gah, I am counting the days until Spring Break… currently there are too many minutes and seconds or I would be right there too!
KF Breene and Shannon Meyer released a book together: Shadowspell Academy, The Culling Trials. I already started it and it’s addicting and really good.
Also, Disobedience by Jaymin Eve came out today. 🙂 It’s part of the Bastan Hollow Saga that is a bunch of stand alone books about fairy tales gone wrong and the people who’s job it is to fix it.
Apparently the download for Disobedience is broken.
*plays in Grey’s glitter*
Great lot of books today, Maryse 😀
*facepalm* Jane Washington wrote Disobedience. But, on her Facebook page, she said she’s working with Amazon to fix it.
*reads bad review of a book*
*sees insufferable and snarky heroine who monologues*
*one clicks*
LOL Tessa!!!!!! I do that too! 😛
Too quiet. How was your day….
1. Last thing you ate?
2. Last thing you drank?
3. Did you buy anything today?
4. How was the weather?
5. Last song you listened to?
6. Last line you read?
7. What are you going to do next?
New blog will be live in just a couple of days!! Eeeeeeeep!! I’m doubling down!!!

6. Last line you read? if we’re talking books, it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve read. I NEEEEED to read so bad. If we’re talking blog posts, “Jenn: Do you happen to have a list of dark reads you would recommend?” (that’s the list I’m re-formatting right now).
7. What are you going to do next? Try and sleep… around 11 pm *fingers crossed* and then stress over the changeover.

2. Last thing you drank? Cherry pepsi.
3. Did you buy anything Pepsi. Fairy wings and chocolate.
4. How was the weather?
A little rain and a little sun.
5. Last song you listened to?
Pretty Boy. I love it because his bandmate, Jonghyun, wrote it for him ….about being a pretty boy. And he sang it with his best friend who is also a pretty boy. But also what’s wrong with being sensitive.
https://youtu.be/0ZyFb9VVCUc
6. Last line you read?
“I smile, too.” -The Girl He Used To Know.
7. What are you going to do next? Go home, charge phone, then put on music and walk dog.

4. How was the weather? Good, but windy. 66 degrees
5. Last song you listened to? Daylight by Maroon 5
6. Last line you read? I don’t want to do it again.
7. What are you going to do next? Feed the kid, then feed the cats.
1. Last thing you ate? M&Ms (my current nightly indulgence when I put the children away for the night ;))
2. Last thing you drank? Pepsi
3. Did you buy anything today? Groceries. Lots and lots of produce and let me tell you, I love the way I feel eating like this, but my gosh it is such a chore. And takes up way too much space in my fridge.
4. How was the weather?
Gorgeous! Heat is off, fans are on. Would’ve been a wonderful day to just sit in the sun and enjoy the light breeze.
5. Last song you listened to?
I asked Alexa to sing me a song this morning. It’s pretty crafty. Lol
6. Last line you read? I haven’t read a book in what feels like weeks. Perhaps my internet searches of symptoms for my sick babe. His fever broke today though, so we’re on the up & up.
7. What are you going to do next? Sleep. Or diddle around the web. Or read a little while I should be sleeping.
Just to be clear: I am not wearing the fairy wings.
These are children’s wings.
Awwwwwwww!!!!
*stomps foot and wails in agony*
WEAR THE WINGS BEV!!!! Be a fairy!!! I wanna be one, too! Let’s be fairies!!!
Well, I did eat the chocolate.
I am a watcher so I don’t usually comment but here goes:)
1. What you last ate: Vegetarian Taco Salad from a really good Mexican Taqueria.

6. Last line you read: I am reading Obsession by Ann Mayburn. “That scary looking one with the sexy hair and psycho eyes.”
7. What are you going to do next: Get in my pjs and start reading my book.
Good night everyone!
Lol. Kathy, the funny thing part is saying we’ve had a lot of rain in CA (we have) and knowing someone from the rest of the country is probably thinking, 15 inches of rain a year is a lot?
I’m a little late to the game…
1. Last thing you ate? This delicious limited edition ice cream from friendly’s that is chocolate with choc chips, fudge, and choc cookies. I also added nuts. (My after dinner snack last night))

7. What are you going to do next? Have more coffee
Bev, why did you buy fairy wings???
Jojo Moyes’ One Plus One is on sale for 2.99. I loved this one!
This blog is looking’ fancy!!! Love the changes Maryse!
Hey you guys!!! Look what happened. 😉
I’ve still got bugs to fix, but what better time, then now? 😉 Eeeeeeeep!!!
*hugs Christine*
Thank you!!!! <3 😀
Yay, I can get back on and it looks so pretty. I’m good with wearing fairy wings. Does this make me a fairy? That’d be great. 🙂
Oh, apparently back in March, While I Was Away by Stylo Fantome came out. I missed it. I’ll eventually read it knowing it’s out now.
I am having a hard time deciding if I love this song or just like it at certain times. The video… sucks? I heard it and it sounded a lot like a children’s Halloween song. Not scary, but there is something sinister inside the cheerfulness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIyl9bCp6W4
Yay!!! Tessa and Christine are the very first comments on the new server!! 🙂 I’m feeling nostalgic.
P.S. I think the blog needs fairy wings… wouldn’t that be pretty? I want fairy wings.
Right? Fairy wings would be awesome. Can we make it so mine actually made me fly? Serious request here. 🙂 Or just turn me into a fae. I’ll take either one.
ERMEHGERD!!! My phone app has the new blog view!!! Awesome! Except my reply from earlier is gone. Boo.
I like it!!!
Commenting is easier! Oh oh. Watch out. More comments in 3…2…1.
This is bizarre!! All of these comments weren’t here a little bit ago and my comments with Bev are gone. AND I now have the updated blog on my phone, which is BEAUTIFUL! Who threw the fairy dust?!?
Maryse! This is and looks awesome!
Hi Maryse, I’ve been following your blog for quite a while but first time I comment. Just wanted to say blog looks awesome, Love reading all the comments and recommendations 🙂

Goooooood morning everyone!!!!
*twirls around in the glitter*
So happy to wake up to our pretty new blog. *squeeeeeee*
If you see any bugs or weirdnesses, let me know. Some formatting issues that we had to fix over the last week, so I may have missed something.
Oh and guess what?? I can finally read again, and to reward myself, I started “The Girl He Used to Know” last night. 😀 Ahhhhhh I’m feeling like my old self again.
I love it! Looks great Maryse!
Ooooo…this looks so pretty! Love it!
OMG! I’m away for a couple of days and Maryse redecorates! It’s beautiful, Maryse!

So glad you’re finally feeling better again, Maryse!
GAH!!!!
Is bev here yet??? I just got thrown back in time to the old blog and bev’s still there… all alone.
We had some laughs, cried a little as we time traveled together, dreamed of coming back here… to “Fairy”. She still hasn’t seen it.
We worried over the fact that “fake bev” might be here, and Maryse the Diva wrestler… our imposters. 😉
I copied her comments so you’d all know she misses you:
It goes like this:
9:25am
Maryse: Whhhhoooooops!! Looks like I got excited and started twirling too soon. Now I’m seeing the old blog again (which is supposedly normal – this back-and forth thing), I was told it will take 24 to 48 hours for it all to propagate (something about DNS transferring) to the newer server and blog.
This is why some of our comments will be back and forth on the different blogs. I’m now seeing the old one again (for now). Some of us might see the old one, some might see the new one. But it will all be 100% to the new one shortly. Please stand by…
Maryse: *snort* I love bev’s “parallel universe”. It truly is exactly that right now. I wonder if only “I” was thrown back to this one? Did I finally grow my fairy wings?
Maryse: I wonder what everyone’s talking about over there… in fairy.
*hrmph*
*lonely over here*
Luckies.
bev: Here. I’m here. But I also hear you.
bev: I’m still here. I think we can hear them, just not see them.
I dont think they can hear or see us.
Over there they will become friends with fake Bev.
And the wrestler Maryse will be their new Maryse.
Instead of kpop they will be bombarded with Harry Styles.
And the club of death will take on a whole new meaning when everyone learns to pile drive.

I love this new setup you have Maryse!!
Wait a minute…do we all get fairy wings here…or have I missed something?! 😉
FLT:
“If I have learned anything in this long life of mine, it is this: In love, we find out who we want to be; in war we find out who we are.”
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (listening to audio book and LOVing!)
“I look down at Darian’s thumb sweeping across my knuckles.”
Riders on the Storm by Robin Hill (I skipped the prologue and went with the 1st line of the 1st chapter.)
Fairy wings for you! Fairy wings for you! Fairy wings for you!
And look how pretty our comments are. Seriously, it’s set up as we write it, and looks so nice. One bug I found is it’s not remembering my name/email/website even though I click the button. Not annoying or anything, just a bug.
🙂

Maryse, I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but my post this a.m. is showing that I posted at 5:11 a.m. which I def didn’t as I was sleeping. Since we are both E.S.T., I thought that was weird.
Miss a few days and miss a BUNCH! I’m loving the new look of the blog on my phone. 😀

You guys, I think I’ve found one I could end up loving! I don’t want to say it to soon because I’ve done that before and then ended up feeling “meh” about it, but this one has LOVE IT potential! Annika has my heart already, and I’m only 25% in. The writing just flows, and I’m not *gasp* getting annoyed by anything in the book!
Yay for Kathy P joining in on the Q&A! I love it when the “quiet” ones come out to play with us. 😉
1. Last thing you ate? Sous vide egg bites
2. Last thing you drank? Water
3. Did you buy anything today? No, but I drunkenly bought a new Kate Spade purse a couple of days ago because it was marked down to $149 from $328 for a limited time. *facepalm*
4. How was the weather? Typical Seattle overcast but still beautiful.
5. Last song you listened to? Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley…hauntingly beautiful
6. Last line you read? “I guess that’s what ten years will do to a person.”
7. What are you going to do next? Stick a needle in someone’s arm. 😛
Amy!! We’re reading the same book!!!
YAY US!! BUDDY READ!!
Also, I am noting the bugs as you post them. I’ll submit them to my new hosting and blog company and see what they can fix. I’m thinking it might be bugging because it keeps swinging back and forth between the two blog styles, so not retaining the time?
But I will find out. 🙂
Oh Leslie! I just had a thought… maybe it’s because my server is in Texas. So if you were on and commenting at 6-something am… it is only 5-something am over there.
YAY MARYSE!!! How are you liking TGHUTK?
I’ve just started last night so I’m only a few chapters in but I’m happy that (at least so far) it’s all from her POV. I’m totally in. Tracey Garvis-Graves is such a great writer and story-teller. :D!!!
When bev finally arrives, I know we’ve officially moved here. 😉
*sends fairy wings to bev*
OMG Amy, I absolutely LOVE that version of Hallelujah! It’s the only one I’ve heard that really sounds like a broken marriage, rather than something to sing at church. Nothing wrong with a church version, but the song is rather sad and is more about praying for help with a marriage rather than a happy cry to god.
Tessa, right?? None of the other covers seem to convey the ecstasy and agony of having loved someone.
And then when you think about the tragic death of Jeff Buckley, it just adds another whole emotional level to the song…
Where is bev??!!!!?????
*paces*
I sent her fairy wings hours ago!!!
*beeeevvvvvv??? Can you hear me???? We’re here!!!!! Find your wings in the fairy forest. They’ll bring you here.*
I should have learned to play WoW. I could lead her here, through that, I bet. I’m thinking Korea is the last update on my blog, and that’s where she is…
And I’m here. Strange, Bev and I’s comments from the other universe didn’t transfer. I was just about to tell her we must be waiting in a handsome fae to rescue us and it wouldn’t let me. And then I reentered the webpage and it brought me here, to this mystical world with loads of strange new comments. What if she’s trapped? Shall we send him for her? He probably doesn’t need to be told. You know how those fae are, so protective and strong, a force to be reckoned with.
Oh my!!!!
bev found her alpha-fae!!!!!! Oh, we don’t dare try and tear them apart. You know how those Fae are. I’m kind of excited for her.
😉
*rubs hands together with glee*
*hopes for bev’s juice Fae stories*
Bev found an alpha Fae? Get over here so we can discuss!

Bev – I’ve got alpha Elves!
This book has a Radiance feel, for Grace Draven fans.
You know the plot. The human princess is arranged to marry the prince of the Dark Elves. Each one thinks the other is a hideous monster. I love this junk
LOL MichelleS!! Guilty pleasures, aka *junk* are the best kinds!! 😉
*giggle*
You two said “junk.”
😛
