Good morning! *holds out mug for coffee refill please*

I hope everyone made it through bad weather ok. I was so worried about losing power. We would have been popsicles in few hours without heat.

I just got Fight or Flight by Samantha Young on audio from library. Anyone read it?

Lisa M January 22, 2019 at 7:38 AM

Robyn January 22, 2019 at 12:53 PM

Maryse and everyone, I’m soooo excited to tell you about a book I just finished! It’s called If by Randi Cooley Wilson. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and OMG what a book. It reminds me a little of the Avoiding series by KA Linde. The main characters meet freshman year of college. Oh the angst with these two! Eeek! It’s never the right time for them. I don’t want to give anything away, it’s that good. This book is right up there with Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn. Now if you know anything about me, that is one of my all time favorite books and nothing can top it. If is giving it a run for the money. You guys have to read this glorious book!

Maryse January 22, 2019 at 1:23 PM

Eeeeeeeeep!!!!

I’m looking it up NOW Robyn!! YAYYAYYY!!!!

Steph N January 22, 2019 at 2:20 PM

Good afternoon! I want to read Unbreakable by Emma Scott! I’ve never read it. Slogging through The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. I’m afraid to set it aside because I’ll never get back to it.

Leslie M January 22, 2019 at 4:19 PM

Maryse and Amy – since you both talked about yummy meatballs, I’m wondering if you have your fave recipes? I only make regular Italian meatballs and am intrigued by the ones you mentioned.

Jenn January 22, 2019 at 4:40 PM

Leslie I know you said Amy and Maryse just thought I’d put my two cents in I do love all different kinds but one of my favorite after fried up I put in crock pot with grape jelly and catsup for a few hours-YUM

Jan January 22, 2019 at 6:12 PM

Last night I realised there is a NEW PAGANO BROTHERS book out. Sweeet. Hidden Worthiness by Susan Fanetti. It came out earlier this month but somehow I missed it. Anyhoo, I’m already totally hooked and can’t seem to stop reading. Scarred mafia man and ballerina. :D

New Cherise Sinclair coming out on Jan 29th too. Not a Hero. #1 in a new series, Sons of the Survivalist. Could be good. I’m not a massive bdsm fan, so I’m hoping this one doesn’t go too far down that path. Can the shy introvert and the deadly police chief find a life together?????? Could be right up my alley :D

I’m jealous of all your icy weather stories. We’re still having an extreme heatwave here in southern Australia. It’s going to be 45 on Friday – that’s Celsius, peeps! Hard to believe. Adelaide is predicted to break all records by hitting 46+. I’m sitting in front of the AC right now. *sips coffee while looking out window at hot sunny back yard*

Erin M January 22, 2019 at 7:15 PM

Jan… some how I missed the new Pagano Brothers book also. How is that possible! Thank you… I was needing something to read and this is just the book.

MichelleS January 22, 2019 at 7:48 PM

The Banker sounds promising. Wonder if I have to read her other series? It’s a spinoff of same universe? Anyone? Anyone?

MichelleS January 22, 2019 at 7:52 PM

Meant to be Kept… cheater cheater… nope nope nope. Why do women write cheater novels? Does ANYONE like that? Nope.

Leslie M January 22, 2019 at 8:17 PM

*whispers* I like cheating books.

Tessa January 22, 2019 at 10:53 PM

I DNF’d the first of that fae book. I didn’t like the way the heroine and everyone talked. NOTHING happened in the first quarter of the book. I kept expecting action, but I got Jane Austin style gossip. Not really my thing. She was supposed to be the rebel and at no point, did she sound like the rebel. More like the one who is telling everyone how to behave. *frowns* Never saw a fairy!

Jan January 23, 2019 at 1:03 AM

Erin I read it in less than 24 hours. Just could not stop till they got their HEA. I really liked it. Yeah I don’t know how I missed it either, but it’s one of the better Pagano books, for sure.

Jenn January 23, 2019 at 6:25 AM

*whispers* back to Leslie I like cheating books too :-) EXCEPT Taking Chances-I heart Chase-enough said. :-)

Grey January 23, 2019 at 6:47 AM

*giggle* oh Michelle S, you KNOW us… *Tosses glitter* I lurve cheating books if they’re written well. I think that is my only caveat. It’s gotta be written well.

Leslie M January 23, 2019 at 7:18 AM

For some silly reason my eyes keep mixing up Jenn, Jean & Jan. Duh! I don’t mix up Tessa/Tasha or Michelle/Michele.

Anyway, Jenn…I have had the grape jelly thing before, yummy. It’s also good on cocktail weiners. (I said “weiner”) *giggle*

Grey January 23, 2019 at 9:52 AM

Forgot…I knocked on wood for you, bev… Hope you’re okay, friend.

bev January 23, 2019 at 10:07 AM

Oh, perfectly fine. Thanks. Just one of those mornings. Bad nights sleep, running late, realize you forgot something you need, …….so on.

Cheryl January 23, 2019 at 10:40 AM

Back from my trip to VA to be with my dad when he had surgery. He did great with his back surgery and is home too.

Tired, because got back really late last night. Thank goodness I’m off today. NEED to go to the grocery store. My daughter told my hubby while I was gone, that he was so not Mom- he dropped the ball with running out of milk and other things. :) NIce to be appreciated. Need a good recipe for dinner.
Any suggestions?

Knocked on wood for you Bev.

Now to get my butt up…

Tasha J January 23, 2019 at 10:49 AM

We did turkey burgers, cube steak w/noodles and veggie, meatloaf w/air fried potatoes, and bow tie pasta w/sausage and marinara this last week. Pizza tonight and bbq shredded chicken for quesadillas or sandwiches tomorrow. Friday I’m doing a lemon garlic roasted shrimp recipe from Ina Garten I found, served over noodles or rice, broccoli and crusty bread. Any of those sound good? Lol

Cheryl January 23, 2019 at 11:12 AM

Tasha- the cube steak and meatloaf. My hubby likes meatloaf, so always looking for a good recipe.

Maggie Odette January 23, 2019 at 11:31 AM

Hi every one

Here’s my new novel

Healing With The Ex-Army Next Door
by Maggie Odette

Ex-army Alex never dealt with his PSTD, till Iraq war survivor Amira settles next door. Soon, they connect & fall in love. But still, Alex doesn’t believe that the solider who destroyed Amira’s world deserve a HEA with her or if she knew she’d forgive.

Sweet Sizzling Romance

Tasha J January 23, 2019 at 11:37 AM

Meatloaf, I just use the original better homes and garden recipe, we love the topping. https://www.bhg.com/recipe/beef/meat-loaf/#page=0
And the cube steak comes out the best in the crockpot, super tender. I don’t thicken the gravy at the end, but I spoon a little onto our steaks and whatever side we’re having (noodles or mashed potatoes). And I didn’t have French onion soup this time and used beefy mushroom, still yummy. https://www.thecountrycook.net/crock-pot-cubed-steak-with-gravy/

Cheryl January 23, 2019 at 1:23 PM

Thanks Tasha!! ;)

MichelleS January 23, 2019 at 11:03 PM

I started The Banker & im almost done! Squee. So good. Setting – Italy, Florence & Tuscany. Characters – seedy, wicked, gangster types. Plot – to save her dad, get close to & betray the worst of them. And he’s a real doozy. Hot alpha alert!

Jan January 23, 2019 at 11:34 PM

I’m intrigued by the Banker but it’s pretty pricy on kindle :( I might try a sample though.

Michelle you might like the new Susan Fanetti, Hidden Worthiness. (And it’s not so expensive LOL)

MichelleS January 24, 2019 at 8:37 AM

Cliffhanger alert! Gah! Next one comes out mid February. Ugh!!!

MichelleS January 24, 2019 at 8:38 AM

Jan – thanks! I’ll try a sample. (It’s like Costco around here: I’m loading up on samples)

Tessa January 24, 2019 at 3:16 PM

Ooooh! Jenn is reading Kulti!

*Throws more glitter bombs* I hard time adored that book.

Maryse January 24, 2019 at 3:44 PM

Thank you Jan! I’m adding them both into tomorrow’s Friday Finds post. :D

bev January 24, 2019 at 3:49 PM

Lol, thanks.
I’m still reading slow. Its mostly on weekends. I need to up my energy. I want to read on commute home, but sometimes I feel so tired I just want to veg out to music and check in on blogs.

Maryse January 24, 2019 at 3:51 PM

Leslie M – I just made regular meatballs out of Italian sausage (didn’t add egg or any breadcrumbs) just made them into balls without compressing them too much, dropped into a jar of my fav spaghetti sauce, and I add whatever..

The other is Swedish meatballs that I’ll need to get the receipt again from my sister (she made them twice while she was at my place). AMY is the meatball knowi-it-all. ;) I need to know what her favs are.

bev January 24, 2019 at 3:53 PM

Really is that what Amy is?

Maryse January 24, 2019 at 3:54 PM

Robyn I’m in love with the cover, and I’m making it a main feature in tomorrow’s Friday Finds post. I want to read it BADLY!!!!!!!!

Leslie M January 24, 2019 at 4:14 PM

Oooh Maryse, sausage balls! I like that idea. I bet even beef Italian meatballs would be yummy if you subbed half with ground sausage.

I always see so many diff recipes for funky meatballs using ground chicken or Turkey and I’m afraid to try them without someone I trust telling me if they are good first. Nothing worse than an epic food fail.

Maryse January 24, 2019 at 4:24 PM

*snort*

Earlier it was wieners and now we’re giggling over sausage… balls. :P

*snort snort*

Maryse January 24, 2019 at 4:42 PM

LOL bev… well… one of the things, anyway. ;)

Jan January 24, 2019 at 5:00 PM

Yay and more glitter for Jenn reading Kulti. I love that book too.

My FLT: “Which beer do you think I should try first?” the attractive woman leaning on my bar asks.

It’s from Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen. I’m a little late to the party with this series (True North), but I’m working my way through ‘em. The series is set in Vermont, abut mainly connected characters, which I like. This is #5. It started off well, but has slowed down a little now. But I will finish it. It’s a little different for me cos the h is bi and I haven’t read many books with bi characters.

FLT: “Obsession is a peculiar thing. Unlike other emotions, it doesn’t happen instantaneously.” The Devil, by Ashley Jade.

I picked this SOLELY based on Grey’s Goodreads review… “five, baby, five hot AF stars”

I mean seriously? How can I not?

OMG–I just noticed ‘reminds me’, ‘Avoiding series’, and ‘oh the angst’–I’m all over that! I had already put “If” on my tbr, solely based on the cover, which I rarely do. And it’s KU! I have so many books that I plan to read ‘next’, but this is definitely going on the short list!

FLT:
It was the best of times; it was the worst of hangovers.
Star by BB Easton
(This is book 3 in the series I’m LURVing! I just haven’t had a lot of time to read this week or I’d have them all finished.)

“There’s nothing like a good lube fire your first morning back from vacation.”

Hosed by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. Over the top Rom-Com with a hilarious pet raccoon.

R. is the bonus content the extended epilogue or is there more?

Cheryl for Unbreakable? The bonus content is the additional sexy time in the epilogue. Then aside from the new editing, there’s a new cover and added playlist.

Yes for Unbreakable. Reading that *again* next. Loved it the first time and looking forward to more sexy time!!
