<— WEDNESDAY BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! The Lying Hours (How to Date a Douchebag Book 5) by Sara Ney just went LIVE!!! (P.S. here’s my 4.5 star Book Review of book #1 that I WENT CRAZY FOR). Okay, so… he’s trying to help his broken-hearted guy friend on a dating APP, and this girl (even though she’s OVER IT) …is a MATCH…
“…Over her bad grades. And over dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys gone?
She longs for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU.
On her worst day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date).
On her best, she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie.
On Thursday? She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate.Skylar Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet…”

Really want to go back to sleep.
But …Yay!…the books are out. Except so sleepy. I think I’ve finally hit that time in my life when I will choose sleep over one more chapter or one more episode. Though, oddly, I sometimes miss those all night binges. Now I my alarm goes so early just staying up to 11 feels like a bad life choice the next morning.
Maryse, rabbit is an ap that allows you to make rooms with friends to do group watches in. You watch at the same time and can make comments as you go. One person controls the screen..
I’m watching a Chines drama with a group that way on the weekends and also in a group that might do a listening party for a kpop group.
Except, I’m horrible at figuring these things out I’m much better at just showing up while someone else does the tech, lol.
And now I want to know what drama you ate interested in. 🤔
Apparently though tired I’m feeling verbose this morn. Ok, Music, shower, coffee, go.

HEY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!! I’M DIGGING THE NEW WEBSITE, BTW!
YAY!!!! I’m so happy!!
MARYSE!!!!!!!!!! TELL TARRYN TO APPROVE MY ARC ON NETGALLEY! I SENT HER A MESSAGE ON FB AND I KNOW SHE READ IT BUT DIDN’T RESPOND! HELP ME OUT HERE, PLEASE
Ela… I don’t think she has the ability on this one. It’s being released by a big publisher (I can’t remember which one) and not an indie release, so it’s up to them I think.
I want it too!!!
I did see the fancy publisher pricing…$9.99. Come on NetGalley, be good to me!
I requested too…..still waiting…….*crosses fingers*
Fingers crossed, Ela, I requested it too…who knows.
Right….I wonder when they plan on approving/declining?
Comment:…I’m still waiting too Ela. I got two I’d been waiting for over a month a week ago so who know how long they might take…I figure no denial yet is a good thing…
I have no idea, I just requested on Sunday, I think, though?
Good morning!
I’m back to reading Execution and loving it!
I’m listening to Dark Queen the most recent Jane Yellowrock novel (by Faith Hunter). It’s the one UF/PNR series that I’m completely caught up in, and I can see why. Faith Hunter never disappoints me, and at 40%, I have a feeling that this one is going to be a barn burner. Too bad the next one doesn’t come out until October. ☹️
*begins biting her nails* *hands over 6 boxes of tissues*
Tessa–don’t tell me that! I already had a bad feeling.😭
It’s second to last, though… And it is by far my favorite one of the series to date!
The series is ending?! Well, crap!
Did you ever read the Soulwood book?
It’s in my room right under my bed to be read. I’ve got three books before it. 🙂
Maryse–Falling For You (Bragan University Series, #3) by Gianna Gabriela is coming out on 5/11/19 and is up for pre-order on Amazon.
Thank you Nay!!!!
Supernatural Academy by Jaymin Eve also came out today. No, I won’t be reading it today. Briggs got a new book out and Mercy trumps most. 🙂
That said, I’ll take a nap too, Bev. I swear, I started to fall asleep at 6pm. Dude was next to me going, why are you sleeping. I can’t sleep if I hear his voice, so no sleep for me. I went right to sleep after he went to bed, but I am still TIRED!
What?? Runs to look for Supernatural Academy on Amazon!
I can’t decide between Broken Throne or Storm Cursed or Dragonslayer. So many options, I love it!
Dragonslayer?
The new Sons of Rome from Lauren Gilley.
Happy Tuesday everyone!! 😁
Well, bev and I have switched places because she’s chatty today and I’m not. Nothing’s wrong, all is good, I’m just kinda…introverted, I guess? *shrug*
I do have to ask though…in Balance, does the h grow older than 15 as the book(s) go on?? Because…15?!? I’m cringing.
Yeah I wanna know too!!! I haven’t started it yet ’cause I’m a chicken.
Comment:…16…yep
16?!? *slaps forehead* Yep, this is definitely taboo…
Yes, this and the Giana Darling Fallen Men series–VERY age gap taboo.
She ages, but slowly. She turned 17 in Release.
Maryse…still wondering who won the Release contest??
It was Amber! 😀 I replied to the comment asking on the other post.
Ok Thanks!
Congrats to Amber, you lucky duck!
15-17 years old over 3 books…..ugh…..so young!!!
Yes, young. When she acts her age I have to keep reminding myself how young she really is.
Michele–I’m sorry but every time I see you on here, I have to laugh at your dinosaur tomatoness! 🤣
I know! The monster avatars are very silly. I love my Twilight bookcover.
Bev, I miss the monkey.
Comment:…I know I keep meaning to change it but I’ve been too lazy! Now I’m kind of getting used to it 🙂
lol And now you know why I said NOPE. 🙂
And it came out or yo my awareness around the time it became known that one of the Doctors for the US gymnasts was charged with molesting the girls.
Exactly! That didn’t help matters at all.
I feel like I talk too much.
Um….and I made your summer watch plans for you.
Just so you know.
Us. Rabbit. Kdrama. Ramen or soju.
I have had a hard time with the age thing. Honestly it’s kinda abusive if you ask me. Finished Balance read the reviews for Execution and decided to skip it and go on to Book 3 Release just because I have to know how it ends. I think.
Susan, There are going to be two more books after Release….you may want to wait…
Happy Tuesday! I’ve just finished up The Royals of Monterra series. They were sweet stories that reminded me of reading a Hallmark movie which is what I needed after some angsty reads. Thinking of starting Imperfect Match next. Anyone read it yet?
Sweet sometimes just hits the spot. <3
I got The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna in from the library today. It’s historical fiction. Fingers crossed I can read a chapter or two!
Comment:…I just put a hold on it …13 weeks…it’s insanity
Comment:…I look forward to hearing your thoughts though….
My library doesn’t have it. Bummer
Michele–why do you’re comments have “Comment” before them?
No clue…I think I apparently have to type over the word “comment” when I comment. Thank you for pointing it out…I was (of course) oblivious 🙂
Maryse did you see this:
https://www.laineygossip.com/keanu-reeves-brooding-in-leather-for-saint-laurent/55586
HOT.
*faints*
I love the cover of Broken Throne. I haven’t ready any of the series though, so I don’t think I’ll start with that one.
It’s cold and gloomy here today. Neither hubs or I have work today. We’re stayin’ in and the fire’s lit 😀 Good reading weather. *sips hot chocolate*
I’m in a mini reading slump. Luckily they usually don’t last long with me. I’ve read quite a few good new releases lately (fav was Carry The World) but now I’m just doin’ rereads. The new Mercy Thompson is calling my name though. Hear that spooky whisper? *Jan……… come reeaadd meeeee* Ha ha ha. I crack myself up sometimes (sad, I know).
The rest of the series has just as beautiful covers as that one. it’s what made me want to read the story. *judges book by cover*
I’m almost done with the new Mercy Thompson… *grins* It’s gooooood!
I think you’re not the only one who judges books by the cover. If it’s an unknown author and the cover is dodgy, I will often give it a miss.
Glad Mercy is good. I’m starting it soon 😀
I’m about to start it… I spent the past week burning through the series again. Glad I did.
I also judge by the cover… I don’t know why…
You crack me up too! And I crack myself up often, especially when I’m being corny, so I get you. 😉
Came to check in and so quiet.
Why so quiet peeps?
You all are thinking of our summer of 19 kdrama watch, huh?
With ramen. I’m especially thinking of ramen. With the noodles. The real ones that are bad for you. That I love.
When you are in drama world it is not bad for you.
But crossing the street could be. You must always be aware of the Truck of Doom.
And if you’re not aware and get nailed by the Truck of Doom, you will then face the Crow of Judgement. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/crow-of-judgement
Lol, what is that???
It’s already of the eighth of May! Eeep We haven’t done our favorites of April!
Gah, April was phenomenal for me. 🙂 Not gonna lie. SO GOOD. These were just the ones that were beyond great. Most were read one after the other. The beginning of the month I was lucky.
1. Filthy Rich Boys by CM Stunich – Reverse Harem bully. OMG, it was good, but then that end. OMG
1a – Bad Bad Rich Boys – Continues and the angst ramps up
2. Shadowspell Academy: The Culling Trials by Shannon Meyer and KF Breene – These two authors together is a dream. The action was fast, the plot held tons of aches, family and friendship come into play… YAY!
3. Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts – *thunk* It continues the series and soooo good. I mean, SOOO GOOD! The drama, the death, the feels, all still there and I am so anxious for the last book.
(Can you believe I read those three back to back? With Year One (March) right before it? LUCKY!)
4. Riders of the Storm by Robin Hill – So happy and satisfied with the end. The angst still there, tons of feels, and all questions answered without being in your face. *hugs Robin* Loved it!
My favorite of April?
The Girl He Used to Know.
No. Doubt. About. It. 😀
ME TOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! That will make my best of 2019 EASILY!!!
This was kind of uneven for me. In the present he felt slightly indifferent to our heroine.
I wonder if… it’s because she hurt him the first time around. He was more reserved for his own heart’s sake (and probably a bit resentful)? I too, from her POV, felt hurt by his demeanor for quite awhile.
Thank you Tessa!!! *hugs Tessa back*
Gah the last book I finished was The Lost Husband at the end of FEBRUARY!!! I beta- read Jeannine Colette’s A Really Bad Idea, but had to stop to write before I got to the epilogue so I still have that left, and now I’m finishing up Emma’s Five-Minute Life. Then there are the other 4 books I’d started post-writing crunch that I neglected. I’m so behind.
Ooh favs of April!
Kiwi Rules by Rosalind James It’s a good CR and you don’t have to be a New Zealander to enjoy it LOL. The H is a vet who lost part of a leg in Afghanistan. I really liked it.
Rhyme and Reason by Nia Forrester
Hook Shot by Kennedy Ryan
And a non-romance sci-fi book but it’s quite unique and I really enjoyed it. Remnant Population by Elizabeth Moon. The h is in her 70s LOL but it’s REALLY good. Beautiful story about first contact with aliens.
OK, back to your regularly scheduled romance books.
My fave was Riders on the Storm. It’s the first 5***** read for me in 6 months!!!! Super angsty and I yelled at Robin a couple times while reading. 😜
I loved your emails!! I got yelled at a lot during ARCs…and I got the silent treatment!
Ahhh yes….the silent treatment. Sorry…not sorry. At one point I thought I was going to need to make a road trip for a face to face to ask you “why oh why” you were letting Darian make such stupid decisions??!! Imagine me trying to explain that one to my hubs…lol!!
I think Zilpha would have split the gas money with you!
Poor misunderstood Darian. He was a little stressed! 😂
Yep! I would have picked her up on the way!! He was stressed….and then we were stressed…;-)
Day off today and just now sitting down to read. Reading Method. Liking it so far and wondering “what” happened.
Putting the latest Douchebag book on my tbr. I do like this series, even though I waited forever to start it because the first time I started it I wasn’t too impressed.
I think the seasonal allergies are to blame for all the sleepiness.
Going to try your keto bread Maryse. Thinking of adding some Cacao nibs to it.
I was thinking of adding some herbs to my next batch… maybe some finely chopped rosemary… maybe some nuts!!! 😀
OMG, if I couldn’t have bread, I’d do that, put rosemary in it. LOVE rosemary bread so much.
Me too!!! I’m growing some as we speak and I LOVE IT!!!! And on lemon chicken…
Omg, did u see Jewel E Ann’s new one, Jersey Six coming in June?!?!! Holy blurb jolt, I must have!!!
GASP!!! I have not!!!!! *runs to look it up*
Her Private Life is giving me life right now.
I love it.
Who is the author?
It is a Kdrama. It is so fun and I love the leads.
The heroine is in her 30s and a professional but also a major fangirl.
Dying to dive into The Lying Hours! Love Sara Ney!
FL(s)T:
“Dad, is it okay if I get two—” The Snickers bar in my hand slipped out of my grasp and dropped to the floor. My jaw was down there too, thanks to one glimpse at the man walking through the gas station door.

FLT: Khai was supposed to be crying.
—The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
Though I haven’t been reading much this week.
This morning I’m in a bit of a Beastie Boys mood.

“Absolutely not!” My father’s harsh voice boomed around his home office. ~ Balance by Lucia Franco
Yep, I’m reading two books at once. Both of these SHOULD be right up my forbiddeny alley, but neither one is grabbing me just yet. Hey, hope springs eternal though, right? 😉
Oh wow, I meant this as a new post but I put it as a reply to bev’s. Sooner or later I’ll figure this new commenting format (which I’ll admit I’m loving).
Until then, it just looks like I’m stalking bev. 🙄
*snort*
I bet she loves it. And I know she’ll be stalking you this summer to buddy-watch the k-drama on the rabbit. So… 😉

The Man I Can’t Have sounds good, but isn’t it a duet and 2nd book isn’t out yet??
Yeah, but at the rate it’s been going lately with me not caring to continue on to the next book because the first wasn’t all that great, I’m not worried about it.
Do I sound jaded? *snort*
FLT: “Rolling my forehead on the door, I take deep breaths to both calm and anchor myself.
METHOD by Kate Stewart. Loving this except for the “before” times. They are a little tedious to read. The before and after reminds me of Drive and the anticipation of how it will end. Almost done.
I’m listening to The Silent Patient right now, Maryse! I just saw your review!! It’s quite good.
YAY!!! YES!!! I can’t wait for your reactions. :D!!!
Loved Naked Love by Jewel E Ann
I just finished One Percent of You by Michelle Gross and it was beyond amazing! I was kind of in a reading slump and I saw it on the new Tuesday releases and it sounded really good. I’m so glad that I decided to try it. It reminded me of The Air He Breathes (a personal favorite) and River Wild by Samantha Towle. I’ve already recommended it to a couple friends. This is definitely going to be a reread!
Ok, I don’t see it on the Tuesday new releases….but I saw it somewhere! Wherever it was I’m glad that I did see it.
Got an email from Universal Yums to upgrade my box.
I am really ok with the size I have but tempted because it is the Korea one.
I like how they say for only 14 dollars more. Someone needs to work on their definition of only when it comes to money. Lol.
I checked and apparently I’m signed up for the large box. I’m pretty sure I was tipsy when I signed up and just said, “what the hell” and went for the big box. *giggle*
You get special Yums that aren’t in the other boxes. The medium was plenty for our family of 5 though. But maybe a drink mix? Or something cool.
I just finished it, but this was my FLT:
Somewhere close by, a loud, raucous countdown was on, cheers echoing as the new year was rung in.
Supernatural Academy: Year One by Jaymin Eve
I really enjoyed it, but I hope the next book I get more of the friend’s personality. I got her friends and Asher’s but I didn’t get enough of Asher’s friends. They weren’t in the scene enough to get them as I usually do with her books.
New Friday post isn’t up yet and I don’t know if I will have time to be on in a bit so…
