HAPPY NEW RELEASE DAY & PRIME DAY CRAZINESS!!! Here is the entire list of Prime Day “Spotlight” deals and I’ll be posting deals that I find all day (stuff that I think relates well to our interests, plus stuff I love and personally use). Since the deals will be constantly changing, I will keep updating with new stuff! :D

<— And… AND!!!! Our incredible buddy read that I promise I DID HOLD OFF ON (for the most part ;) ) so I could read it with you guys. I promise. It starts awesome, but I didn’t get far yet.

Ela: IT IS LIVE!!! *takes Grey’s glitter bomb and goes wild*

Maryse: I GET TO READ ALLLLL DAY!!! Also… play in Prime, and I AM NOT flaking on this buddy read. I promise. YAY US!!! :D

Tasha: I got the prime credit with my preorder of All Your Perfects and I see at the botttom it says it expires July 31st. Like I’ll need that long. *snort*

Amy: ALL YOUR PERFECTS!!!!! Starting it in 3…2…1… *throws glitter in the air*

P.S. While you’re here, don’t forget to check out my latest review (and yesterday’s earlybirds!!):

  • Monday Earlybird Book Releases <— Yesterday’s earlybirds (15+!!) ANNNNNND….
  • Book Review – The Solemn Vow by Bree Dahlia <— SERIOUS MARITAL STRIFE ALERT!!! New-to-me author but I really enjoyed this one! It’s as romantically angsty as it gets (a love triangle that totally goes “there”). You know… Arsen, Thoughtless… you get the picture. ;) And you’ll feel it in every way.

Ela: I highly reccommend the fire stick! Love mine! I’m on the InstaPot but Maryse YOU HAVE TO STOP POSTING THESE DEALS!!!!!!!!! YOU REMEMBER I JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND THE BUDGET IS TIGHT, RIGHT?

Maryse: LOL Ela!!! Yeah but… that’s how I find all the things I want to buy. ;) Then I share… I have an older Firestick from two Primes ago… not voice activated and I find it slow-ish (then again, I don’t have it plugged into it’s own power – it’s getting the power from the TV – might be why it takes longer to load). I wonder if I should upgrade?

JulieO: Maryse Need some gooood recipes. Just ordered an insta pot. Counting on you.

Maryse: I’m on it!!! :D

Heather: Love my Instapot!

Penelope: Do you know how many times I have almost bought this because of you? One of these days I’m gonna give into it.

Maryse: It is SO worth it. I can’t imagine why I ever lived without it for years. One whole job… DONE! All I had to do was push the button. ;)

Tasha: The snuggle me organic is on sale… I bought it at full price a month ago. Not a huge price reduction, but a sale is a sale. It’s the only thing my baby sleeps in now. I tried the musical bed thing for a while. Bassinet (HAH!), rock n play (ok for a while) and this. Now we just do this at night. I know none of ya’ll are having babies right now, but maybe a lurker is as desperate as I. Lol

LET’S READ!!!! :D !!!!

P.P.S. Let me know if I’m missing any or if you loved any (from this list or elsewhere).

What is a Sous Vide cooker?

Amy July 17, 2018 at 7:54 AM

I fell asleep thinking about that first chapter and woke up doing the same. Hoping for a slow day at work so I can continue digging into AYP! If not, it’s going to be a laaaaaaaate night for me. ;)

Today I also need to focus on home cleaning/improvement stuff on Prime. I’m all ears if anyone finds anything tempting!

Amy July 17, 2018 at 7:57 AM

bev, I’ve never used a sous vide cooker (it’s something about putting food in a bag and then cooking it in water or steam) but I have had the sous vide egg bites from Starbucks and HOLY MOLY!!! They. Are. Amazing. The texture is incredible and nothing like regular egg bites or scrambled eggs or anything else I’ve ever tasted.

Not sure if I’m brave enough to attempt sous vide cooking myself though…

Grey July 17, 2018 at 8:02 AM

Do I want an Instant Pot???

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 8:25 AM

bev I think it’s a vacuum sealer type thingie that slowly/gently cooks your food in water…

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 8:25 AM

You do, Grey. You do. The possibilities and uses are endless.

Ela July 17, 2018 at 8:27 AM

Ela July 17, 2018 at 8:36 AM

Leslie M July 17, 2018 at 8:41 AM

Ela, I haven’t started yet but will soon.

Ela July 17, 2018 at 8:47 AM

I highly reccommend the fire stick! Love mine! I’m on the InstaPot but Maryse YOU HAVE TO STOP POSTING THESE DEALS!!!!!!!!! YOU REMEMBER I JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND THE BUDGET IS TIGHT, RIGHT?

bev July 17, 2018 at 8:50 AM

Apparently it’s on sale for 70 down from a couple hundred. Or was. The article o saw wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or not.

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 9:00 AM

LOL Ela!!! Yeah but… that’s how I find all the things I want to buy. ;) Then I share…

I have an older Firestick from two Primes ago… not voice activated and I find it slow-ish (then again, I don’t have it plugged into it’s own power – it’s getting the power from the TV – might be why it takes longer to load). I wonder if I should upgrade?

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 9:02 AM

We’re HERE buddy reading Ela. LOL! ;)

Goodreads… *hrmph!* Kidding. ;) :P

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 9:02 AM

What’s on sale bev? Do I want one??? :D

*backtracks through the comments*

bev July 17, 2018 at 9:11 AM

I’m tempted by the bose headphones…..but I like ear buds.

bev July 17, 2018 at 9:12 AM

That sous cooker thing.

R. Renee July 17, 2018 at 9:37 AM

I wasn’t planning it but I guess I’m BR’ing All Your Perfects too. Almost at 40%!

I want the sous vide thingy. I have an awesome fish recipe for it but it’s always been too $$$!

bev July 17, 2018 at 9:49 AM

I think the 70 dollar one is sold out.

Jean July 17, 2018 at 9:56 AM

Didn’t know about the BR till last night. I bought AYP, but just started Swear On This Life and can’t put it down! I’ll be way behind you guys!

Tessa July 17, 2018 at 10:04 AM

Maryse, if you get the voice remote for the firestick, it works with the non-voice models.

Cheryl, from Monday, I LOVE AMEN TOO! Every time that song comes on, it makes me smile and want to move. I should rec it for my guild’s killing time. It’s upbeat enough to work. We sure needed it last night. We died… A LOT.

I got Slaying It sometime last night, but I’m reading Suzanne Wright’s Shiver. It’s got me consumed. I was expecting to like it but not be at the point of not wanting to sleep just to be able to read it. GAH

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 10:18 AM

Sounds like the sous cooker would be perfect for the apocalypse

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 10:41 AM

Ohhhhh for crying out loud!!! I can’t stop highlighting EVERYTHING in “All Your Perfects”.

This paper book will be loaded in little fluorescent flags.

bev July 17, 2018 at 10:54 AM

Tessa are you a pretty serious gamer?

bev July 17, 2018 at 11:17 AM

I just bought a book for 1.99 and now have 30% off my next ebook. Lol.

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 11:33 AM

I’m at like 25% into AYP. I’m loving it. It’s scary how relatable it is. I’m stuck running errands all day though so it’s on hold.

Amy July 17, 2018 at 1:49 PM

My heart keeps stuttering. I keep thinking things like, “ yep, I’ve thought that” and “oh my heart, I’ve FELT that way before” and it’s making my chest tight.

If anyone has never gone through any times in their marriage where they’ve felt the way Quinn feels or had the thoughts she is having, then consider yourself fortunate and blessed. For the rest of us (ME!), it’s relatable in an uncanny way.

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 2:05 PM
Ela July 17, 2018 at 2:14 PM

Did you guys here about this:

Exclusive Prime Day Offer
6 free Kindle books with Prime first reads; as a special thank you for Prime Members

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 2:16 PM

GAH ELA THAT’S AWESOME!! WHere’s the link? I gotta go to it!

Ela July 17, 2018 at 2:18 PM
Tessa July 17, 2018 at 2:22 PM

Bev, it depends on my moods. I can be. Right now, I’m into what’s called World vs World on Guild Wars 2. It’s basically your “world”, which is whatever server you are on, vs other “worlds”. It’s a lot of strategy, luck, and well, whatever is the “oops, that skill is suddenly too powerful” involved. Mostly strategy, which our guild leader loves. Oh and deaths. LOTS of death.

bev July 17, 2018 at 2:59 PM

That’s cool and that you still read so much. There is a cute C drama called Love O2O where the leads are gamers.

Ela July 17, 2018 at 3:22 PM

Also, just saw this:
Prime Day Promo: Prime members get 75% of the purchase price as credit toward their next Kindle eBook. Only valid on the first eligible purchase. A confirmation email will be sent once the credit has been applied.

Grey July 17, 2018 at 3:46 PM

I was looking at the 58 dollar instapot yesterday… but I didn’t know if it would be big enough for my clan anyway. Now I just bought the Ultra InstaPot… Let the games begin! Hit me with those instapot recipes and tips please!

Ela July 17, 2018 at 3:50 PM

Which one did you get Grey? I got the one Maryse posted above for $50 with a 2.50 credit; 6 quart

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 3:57 PM

What book do I want to buy?? ALL THE BOOKS. I want that credit too!! :D Thank you Ela!

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 4:03 PM

I bought Dumplin’!!!!! :D

Grey July 17, 2018 at 4:20 PM

I bought the Ultra one… the biggie. I’m feeding at least my family of 5 and usually extra teenagers, plus my mom if she’s still here after helping us kid cart around, so I got the big one…

bev July 17, 2018 at 4:20 PM

Read it.

And I’ll stop bombarding you with kpop. Lol.

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 4:24 PM

LOL bev!!! No I love when you love stuff and tell us about it!!!

Ela July 17, 2018 at 4:38 PM

*snort* KPOP!

bev July 17, 2018 at 4:44 PM

Ela don’t snort at my kpop…..they will come after you.

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 4:49 PM

I agree with you Amy, that’s exactly how I feel reading it. I love the ‘thens’, I’m scared where the ‘nows’ will lead.

bev July 17, 2018 at 4:56 PM

That is 2 members from the group I’m obsessed with and a solo artist. Their song from last year. They are releasing a new one tomorrow BUT I looked at the MV spoiler and it is freaking me out. I scare easily and it’s creepy dolls and stuff. So…i don’t know if I’ll be as obsessed with that one.

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 5:15 PM

The snuggle me organic is on sale for 111. I bought it at full price a month ago. Lol

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 5:28 PM

Thank you Tasha!! I’ll post this. :) This will definitely help other new mommies out there!

LisafromDFW July 17, 2018 at 6:05 PM

The instant pot is worth it for the best hard boiled eggs!!!! And the best rice! And steaming broccoli on my back porch because I hate the smell in my house!

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 6:12 PM

My blood just ran cold…

Grey July 17, 2018 at 6:27 PM

Not it, nose goes, knee it. Sorry, I’m not taking any chances. No babies for this chickie. I’ve got enough on my plate.

I want my Insta-pot to arrive, right now! LOL!

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 6:43 PM

Uh oh, Maryse!

LOL Grey!! Could be a baby shower gift. Or a niece or nephew, friend maybe…

bev July 17, 2018 at 6:56 PM

Why is Maryse’s blood running cold?

Is it a scary book?

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 7:04 PM

Yes, it’s a scary book. I’m scared to see where it goes. Because I love them in the ‘then’ and the ‘now’ is not marital bliss. It’s hard in any marriage, but they have a huge additional stress as a couple that is so painful, you know it’s tearing them apart in more ways than one. But Maybe!! I have hope. *bites nails* I’m just about to 40%

Amy July 17, 2018 at 7:53 PM

I already decided…I’m staying up tonight and reading AYP until I can’t keep my eyes open anymore. That’s how much I’m loving it.

Gotta love a mid-week day off. ;)

Maryse July 17, 2018 at 8:11 PM

Ooooh Tasha…

Let me know.

bev July 17, 2018 at 8:17 PM

We will cheer you on Amy.

Until we fall asleep.

R. Renee July 17, 2018 at 8:19 PM

I’ll be doing the same thing Amy as soon as I prep for this takeover tomorrow. #allnighter

Tessa July 17, 2018 at 8:25 PM

Bev, honest truth, if you see I haven’t updated a book in over a day, I got into killing things again. The book I’ve got now tempts me away but at the same time, I get to kill stuffs! It’s better than blowing up at little dude. 13 sucks.

bev July 17, 2018 at 8:35 PM

Ooh, you all should stay up together. If you get tired come on here and call for a dance break. You all put on one of our summer songs and you all put the book down and dance it out then start reading again.

13?? I swear you one time mentioned his ninth or tenth birthday on here.

MichelleS July 17, 2018 at 10:10 PM

Checking in… still reading The Way We Burn… so here’s my update…

Starts off really strong. Almost lost me at 50% or so… was getting a bit bored… then WHAM… 61% chapter 21….. WTH just happened? Can’t read fast enough now!

Oh, and Amy, it’s dual POV, she there’s that.

Cheryl July 17, 2018 at 10:15 PM

Ok, I said I wasn’t buying any books, but you’ve convinced me to BR AYP. Plus there’s the credit back. Now starting…

Tasha J July 17, 2018 at 11:24 PM

Yay Cheryl!

I did not stay up, my sleep is precious. If it were an object I would be holding it with my creepy smile chanting “come here, my pretty” :P

R. Renee July 17, 2018 at 11:49 PM

Almost midnight. Time to start reading. Let’s see how long this lasts! :-D

Amy July 18, 2018 at 12:21 AM

Right here with ya, R. Except I may have an unfair advantage since it’s only a little past 10:00 here. ;)

Sooooo…we are having a late night/all night reading of AYP while dancing to summer songs when we get sleepy, all for bev’s amusement. Just another night on the blog. *snort*

Amy July 18, 2018 at 12:25 AM

And Cheryl has joined us!! :D

MichelleS…you totally just dangled some booknip in front of me with that. I love being blindsided!

bev July 18, 2018 at 12:56 AM

R. Renee July 18, 2018 at 1:15 AM

It’s taking everything I have to keep from smashing my phone. How are you Amy?

bev July 18, 2018 at 1:29 AM

If you feel like Hulk smashing Amy feels like this:

R. Renee July 18, 2018 at 1:31 AM

I’m hurting. And I’m mad that I’m hurting because I don’t understand why I’m hurting. Super annoying.

R. Renee July 18, 2018 at 2:13 AM

Waving the white flag and walking away. At least for tonight.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 2:30 AM

LOL!! That IS how I feel when I get to those parts!

I’m doing good here, R…totally in my element. My heartache-enjoying element, but my element all the same. ;)

Leslie M July 18, 2018 at 5:43 AM

I am really scared now because I am only 34% in AYP and it’s already stressing me out!! If Amy is loving it, I need to be very afraid. ;) I almost wish it was just the “thens” and no “nows”.

Michele G July 18, 2018 at 6:28 AM

Girls I’m with you! I could have had a book full of “thens” with no “nows”…AYP is giving my poor heart an emotional workout. I’m a little over 70%…and holding my breath to see what comes next. I may be a bit too invested in these characters…but they are so relatable.

Ela July 18, 2018 at 6:48 AM

I’m very conflicted!

Tasha J July 18, 2018 at 6:59 AM

Well f@&$ me. I just hit the 50% mark.

Grey July 18, 2018 at 7:33 AM

Nope. I didn’t buy it… I’m not reading it. Lol.

Ela July 18, 2018 at 8:27 AM

Grey! Why ever NOT! You have put us through the wringer with your rec’s, it’s just fair! If not then I’ll message you with all the details…LOL

Grey July 18, 2018 at 8:52 AM

Two words… Insta- pot… Two more. I’m broke. I’m on massive restriction now, no more book buying for me. I am not buying any books. None. Only KU for me until… Well, I have no idea… At least until I am getting paid again…

Maryse July 18, 2018 at 11:37 AM

RIGHT?????? TASHA!!!!!!!!!!!???

Leslie M July 18, 2018 at 11:45 AM

*bites nails in anticipation of what awaits me @50%*

Jean July 18, 2018 at 11:47 AM

You are all making me nervous to read AYP…..

On another note, I just read Swear on This Life by Renee Carlino! I am kicking myself for waiting so long! It was great!!!!!

Tessa July 18, 2018 at 1:05 PM

Bev, I mentioned ninth or tenth 3 or 4 years ago. :P Now, the dreaded 13. Let’s just say, you can tell he’s a teenager. lol

See how happy I am that I didn’t buy AYP. That sounds intense and Shiver was intense enough for me. Oh, and a total 5 star. AND! The hints were there and I didn’t guess the bad guy!!!!! That’s always a thrill. :D Mostly, though, the storytelling and real feel of the book got me. It never felt contrived at all. <3 I finsihed GW2 a little around ten last night, and thought, okay, read for ten-fifteen before sleeping. NOPE. Up until 1am. It was THAT GOOD!

Now, I'm reading Slaying It. It gives me the happies.

Cheryl July 18, 2018 at 1:15 PM

I started it and am at 25%. I am just sad. It is relatable, we had infertility issues and it took about 7 years before conceived. Also, marriage is extremely tough and there are times my hubby so annoys me and I am very good at the avoidance game too. *sigh*

Tasha J July 18, 2018 at 1:46 PM

Every time I pick it back up, I’m distracted by kids or house/errand duties. :/
I’m making chicken wings in the crockpot for the 1st time ever. I don’t really like wings, but it’ll do. I thought they were drumsticks (have never done those in the crock either). And I’m using a coconut milk marinade for the flavor. Fingers crossed it turns out!

Tasha J July 18, 2018 at 2:07 PM

Honestly. I just read 2 whole sentences before the boy comes to tattle that his sister is using a baby spoon for her snack. And she counters with saying he got the spoon and stuck it right in her ice cream so she had to use it. And he argues she’s a big girl, she has to use a big spoon. *rolls eyes* It’s like this today. Allll day.

bev July 18, 2018 at 2:15 PM

I love how R was all just….Im done. Lol.

Tasha, get your book and some snacks and find a closet somewhere. Tell the kids it’s “hide and seek” time.

Maryse July 18, 2018 at 2:52 PM

I ended up buying THREE DNA kits for my family members yesterday…

Maryse July 18, 2018 at 2:54 PM

LisafromDFW you are EXACTLY right. Every single week, at the VERY LEAST, I cook my boiled eggs and my green beans and my broccoli in it for my lunches. I used to do rice too (best rice ever!!) but on Keto I’m riceless. *sigh*

Amy July 18, 2018 at 3:05 PM

Boiled eggs…$1.60 per dozen

Green beans…$1.25 per pound

Broccoli…$1.30 per pound

Being on Keto…riceless

Amy July 18, 2018 at 3:06 PM

OMG I’m such a dork…glad y’all accept me. *snort*

Jean July 18, 2018 at 3:14 PM

Lmao Amy!

Tessa July 18, 2018 at 3:24 PM

lol I love that Amy!

bev July 18, 2018 at 3:44 PM

Someone gets funny when they stay up late.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 3:54 PM

bev July 18, 2018 at 4:48 PM

So, I don’t know if you’ve heard but I am slightly obsessed with a K-pop group called pentagon. From this group is a subgroup called triple H and they dropped a new Mini album today. I listened to one of their songs from last year the one I posted up thread and I like it cause it’s kind of fun and funky and because of Hui’s vocals. But I haven’t listened to the rest of that album and ive only listen to the main song on this new one. I had to listen to it without the video because the visuals was too much to process at the same time, lol. But honestly I don’t know if I like the song or not and I can’t tell what its influence is. Maybe little disco like I don’t know.

But because I like to share with you poor people, I’m curious as to what you think.
I promise next time I’ll talk about a book. Pinky swear.

Tasha J July 18, 2018 at 5:18 PM

I have snuck the snacks….just not much privacy. They’re like ducks. Lol

bev July 18, 2018 at 6:05 PM

Well you are the mama duck.

I need to pick a book to read. But now listening to Grandmaster Flash The Message because that’s the beat they sampled.

Ok, onward to reading. I will do this. One of the best joys of summer. I need to get back to it.

Cheryl July 18, 2018 at 6:15 PM

Ugh this book. Can you say Therapy.

Leslie M July 18, 2018 at 6:24 PM

Cheryl, *hugs* sorry you had the stress of infertility issues. I imagine AYP is extra tough read for you.

Amy, you are hilarious!

Tasha, your kids are hilarious!

This is first time today that I have had chance to sit. AYP here I come!!!

Amy July 18, 2018 at 6:25 PM

Cheryl, right?? I told hubby I would sit with him tonight while he watches TV but I need 3 hours of uninterrupted reading while I do so I can finish it and end this turmoil!

Speaking of Therapy…now THERE is a book that kicked my heart’s a$$. :?

bev July 18, 2018 at 6:48 PM

Is it movie night? What are you going to watch?

Amy July 18, 2018 at 6:53 PM

HE is going to watch How It Ends. I’m going to be sitting there with him…reading.

Grey July 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM

My daughter told me I had to watch How It Ends… she told me it was awful. LOL.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 7:07 PM

Omg…

Grey July 18, 2018 at 7:13 PM

Teenagers are hateful creatures,

bev July 18, 2018 at 7:15 PM

I want to watch The Man From Nowhere but have not been in the mood for dark.

MichelleS July 18, 2018 at 7:22 PM

Amy July 18, 2018 at 7:23 PM

All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover. :D

Cheryl July 18, 2018 at 7:32 PM

Thanks Leslie. I can certainly relate to Quinn in AYP. Infertility takes over your brain. Have to say my hubby was a lot like Graham too- quietly supportive. At least like Graham so far at 30%. Not sure where this is going to end up. It’s an emotional train wreck.

Cheryl July 18, 2018 at 7:32 PM

Grey, my daughter is the same way, she wants me to watch shows or movies that will mess with me. :>

Cheryl July 18, 2018 at 8:30 PM

At 50%. WTF!! Ok, I get that she’s not been a loving wife, BUT… *opening bottle of wine*

Tessa July 18, 2018 at 9:40 PM

Alright, Chicagoland Vampire fans, you need to read Slaying It for no other reason than it was fun. :)

Amy July 18, 2018 at 9:52 PM

Oh f&%k.

I can’t, guys.

I just can’t.

I might be done.

R. Renee July 18, 2018 at 9:54 PM

I said that last night. Keep going just a little bit longer and then decide. Even so, I didn’t totally understand all the things until much closer to the end.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 10:02 PM

I’m serious, R. I can’t handle this kind of sh!t.

R. Renee July 18, 2018 at 10:05 PM

You can message or email me if you want to be sure.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 10:05 PM

I’m taking a break for a bit until the physical symptoms I’m having go away.

Amy July 18, 2018 at 10:05 PM

I may just do that, R. This is the ONE exception to my “no spoilers” rule.

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 5:50 AM

Amy, Cheryl – I am feeling same way! WTF right???

Tasha J July 19, 2018 at 5:54 AM

Omg now u guys are making me scared for what else could possibly be to come!!

Cheryl July 19, 2018 at 6:38 AM

Amy, keep going just a little more.

I stayed up late and finished. R. you’re right I didn’t understand everything until close to the end. I will say even though my tummy was in twisty knots, it’s the first book in a while that I didn’t want to put down and gave me the “good” feels. Also, read the book club questions at the end; number 12 is one whose significance I missed when I reading the epilogue. Overall, like I said I really liked the book, but maybe it was resolved too quickly.

DG July 19, 2018 at 7:07 AM

Good morning peeps!!!

Had to stop reading this morning because I didn’t want to RUIN my makeup from BAWLING my eyes out! UGH! SO GOOD that I just had to put it down so I can SAVOR my crying jag later when I have time!
Where One Goes by BN Toler.

Maryse- have you read it?!? Lots of feels…

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 9:29 AM

AYP is giving me whiplash. My emotions are all over the place!!!

Amy July 19, 2018 at 9:37 AM

Okay, I finished it. Exquisite and emotion-filled writing as always but…well, you guys who have read it know what changed things for me.

On the plus side, I loved the cameo and I finally feel some closure regarding THAT event, heartbreaking as it was.

I would still recommend it to anyone who wants an emotional and relatable read. ;)

Amy July 19, 2018 at 9:38 AM

DG…I have that one! Sounds wonderfully unique.

DG July 19, 2018 at 10:05 AM

Amy – make sure you have a box of tissues when you start this one! I am so enjoying it!

Jean July 19, 2018 at 10:24 AM

Amy, if the EVENT in AYP is what I think it is, I don’t know if I can read it (and I already bought it)! I’m going to message you on GR!

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 10:29 AM

Seriously….this stupid book is making me a blubbering mess and I am only at 80%

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 10:34 AM

Maryse, let’s have a talk with IT and get spoiler tags on here! ;)

Grey July 19, 2018 at 10:51 AM

Lalalalalala. Not reading it. You guys are kinda killing me.

Grey July 19, 2018 at 10:55 AM

On a different note, guess what??? My instapot should be arriving today!! *tosses glitter*

Ooh, today is FLT: ~ Hey, Cait, I am so sorry to pull the plug at the last minute, but I’ve really made a connection with Griffin. ~ Fling Club by Tara Brown.

Amy July 19, 2018 at 11:01 AM

Okay Jean, I’ll check over there shortly…

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 11:43 AM

Grey, can’t wait to hear about your insta-pot. Maybe you will convince me to get one.

marina July 19, 2018 at 11:56 AM

I so need to read AYP but now I’m scared! I just finished a cute, funny read if you’re interested in an lighthearted read… The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl. Odd title and cover but really endearing, funny, office… read. Seem to be on a quest for these kind of reads lately. And avoiding the heavy emotional ones.

Jean July 19, 2018 at 12:53 PM

Leslie, I can’t believe you are reading AYP! Don’t you usually steer clear of tearjerkers?

Jean July 19, 2018 at 12:56 PM

FLT: Box alarm. One-niner-four-seven. Two engines and a ladder from the 499, responding. Or, put another way, Anne Ashburn’s Friday night date had showed up on time and was taking her to a show. (Consumed by J.R. Ward)

I had to include more than 1 line… guys, I am totally loving this book. It doesn’t come out until October, but so good! She is a firefighter!

Amy July 19, 2018 at 1:09 PM

Jean, I answered you on GR. ;)

“As Stan Dillingham walks into my office, my only real concern is clicking out of Facebook quickly enough to make it appear as though I am in the midst of doing actual legal work.” ~ Leaving Green Island by Em Barrett

Grey July 19, 2018 at 1:19 PM

Ah, and the Max Monroe question has finally been answered!

Jean July 19, 2018 at 1:21 PM

What’s the answer Grey?!?!?

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 1:24 PM

Jean, AYP made me cry…quite a few times actually…but its not the same sad as like Behind the Bars or even Full Tilt. (if that makes sense)

I like marital problem type books and its CoHo so I had to try it. Although nothing will beat Slammed & It Ends With Us.

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 1:25 PM

No way!!! WHO IS MAX MONROE!!!

Is it Maryse & bev??

Jean July 19, 2018 at 1:34 PM

Haha leslie….. Maryse and bev….good guess!

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 1:35 PM

N.A. Alcorn (love her, she wrote Forget /Blur) and Laurel Ulen Curtis (I’ve never read her books)

Def not who I suspected

Jean July 19, 2018 at 1:40 PM

Wow, not who I expected either! I loved the Billionaire series! So funny!

Tessa July 19, 2018 at 2:20 PM

I am reading Kristen Ashley’s Knight and I think, am almost positive, I’ve read it before. Not from reading it but just the forward when she mentioned Budha belly. 0.0

bev July 19, 2018 at 2:39 PM

What type of book would that be?

bev July 19, 2018 at 2:40 PM

Tessa, I hate when that happens.

Grey July 19, 2018 at 5:14 PM

*spit* It totally should have been Maryse and bev… hahahhaa! Or me and Amy….

Leslie M July 19, 2018 at 6:17 PM

Bev is always so mysterious…she def could have an interesting secret identity!!

Maryse July 19, 2018 at 6:36 PM

DG I haven’t read that one yet, but that’s totally up my heartache alley!!!!! I’m adding it to the Friday list. :D

bev July 19, 2018 at 6:37 PM

I wish I was mysterious, but just boring, lol.

Right now debating buying something. I’ve been wanting a simple every day type necklace, haven’t worn one in forever, but thinking maybe too $$ especially for how simple it is.
I always want to spend when I try and save.

Jan July 19, 2018 at 6:46 PM

Ha ha bev. It’s called TEMPTATION.

I’m disappointed Max Monroe isn’t you and Maryse. That would have been way cool. But you’re so not boring bev. No more crazy talkin! Your funny comments and links are always a highlight of this blog.

Cheryl July 19, 2018 at 6:54 PM

Hahaha, any of those combos would have been perfect as Max Monroe.

Not sure my FLT yet. I do know it needs to be lighthearted, funny after AYP.

Grey, that book isn’t out yet. Are you reading an ARC? Of course, it sounds like the perfect book for right now. *blows raspberry*

Jan July 19, 2018 at 7:09 PM

My FLT is really LONG! I didn’t realise how long till I just looked back at it. Give me a minute to copy this out LOL.

London 1816
The hackney coach rumbled under the arched stone passage and rolled to a halt in the torchlit innyard, but even before the driver could throw the brake, let alone descend to assist his solitary passenger, the door swung open and she jumped out – a tempestuous, tousle-headed eighteen-year-old with eh fire of rebellion in her dark eyes.

Whew! That was long. It’s from Lady of Desire by Gaelen Foley. It’s not too bad so far. I love the H – Billy Blade is awesome – hunky, fierce and tattooed but also a deeply caring and compassionate person. *happy sigh*

Jan July 19, 2018 at 7:10 PM

*the not eh

bev July 19, 2018 at 7:18 PM

Thank you Jan.

MichelleS July 19, 2018 at 11:02 PM

Can’t fine the post about the book in series I should read… Beautiful Player? beautiful Bastard? beautiful Stranger? Ugh! I think it was Player, right???

I’m not ready for C Hoover. I know it’ll be a gut wrencher.

MichelleS July 19, 2018 at 11:04 PM

“In the dark, vacant foyer sat five pieces of mismatched, tattered, and torn luggage.” B Cherry, Disgrace

MichelleS July 19, 2018 at 11:05 PM

Ooh ooh ooh… guys… this book is doing it for me…, love her writing (B Cherry, Disgrace).

Jan July 20, 2018 at 5:32 AM

Michelle, it’s Beautiful Player. That’s the one about Will and Hanna. Beautiful Stranger is good too. Max is HOT!

Jean July 20, 2018 at 8:43 AM

MichelleS, so happy to hear that about Disgrace! I love B Cherry books!

marina July 20, 2018 at 9:21 AM

Beautiful Player is the best!!!
