Melinda: I have just finished a fantastic book. You know the one, can’t go to bed, walking around with book in hand. And the annoying family that make you reread the same page 10 times. Drum roll it’s called “Binding 13” recommended by Jan easy 5 stars. I loved it. It’s a rugby player book. The book is written really well. I think it’s 825 pages. The author is Chloe Walsh.
Jan: It’s GOOD everybody. Well worth the read. And here’s me all liking an NA bully book. What’s going ON???????? …NA and bullies aren’t usually my fav. But there was just something mesmerising about this book. I got drawn right in and I just had to keep on reading.

I was searching playlists on Spotify and found Mia Asher-She has tons of playlists she created….which is how I realized I never read “Easy Virtue” as I am currently listening to the playlist she created for that book. I am pretty sure the reason I never read this book is because she wrecked me with Arsen; still not over that.

Has anyone read Tattered by Devney Perry? Just curious… I started it on audio today, no clue what to expect and went in blind.
Leslie-I only had ever made the cinnamon one too up until this past Sunday. They had it devoured before halftime of the Bills/Vikings game 🙂 In my glory of trying to find another one I can make this Sunday I found “Cheeseburger Monkey Bread” so will let you know about that one Sunday.
I have not read that Leslie-I am curious though do you like listening to the Audio version of books? I have not given it a go yet but I was thinking about doing the Audio Trial for 30 days and giving it a try.

Jenn, do you have a library card? If so, you might be able to get audiobooks through that via either Overdrive or Hoopla apps. Apparently it depends on the area you live in…just thought I’d throw it out there. I can access both and saves me a LOT of money on ebooks and audiobooks. Not that I don’t still buy way more than I should…but it helps 🙂

Jenn, I LOVE audiobooks but I borrow them from my library for free via Hoopla. I don’t need to own them & they are too expensive from audible (unless you get the matchmaker deal, but if you already own ebook, do you want to own audio too?) However, there is a romance package you can get that works like KU but I can’t remember the details. Sorry, maybe someone here has the info? It’s so confusing all the subscriptions offered. I *think* one is to purchase audiobooks and one is to borrow them.

Wanna know how long I’ve spent trying to read this short story by Alessandra Torre that’s supposed to take less than an hour? 🙁 The Chiropractor told me he thinks maybe a past car accident is causing my chronic headaches. *rolls eyes* I’ve never been in a major one and the last was 10+years ago. Nope, I’ll tell u WHO causes my chronic headaches. There’s this boy and he fights sleep all day long. Maybe two 20 minute cat naps will do. And he likes to fight me for every feeding for an hour. Prepping for battle is exhausting. And when you take this boy in the car to do all this taxiing, he screams. And cries. The whole way there and back. And there’s this other boy who tries to yell louder. And he also needs, needs, needs. And there’s this girl who tries to sing louder. And she also needs, needs, needs. And then there’s this house that needs, needs, needs. And special errands that won’t do themselves. I need a special vacation. And a shower. *deep breath*

Yep, Evidence of the Affair. I didn’t have the patience to look for the name of it. I’m like, 30-40% in. He doesn’t actually cry all the time, he’s a little sweety. Except for in the car or any baby device I put him in (either right away or within 10 minutes). And if I were to put him down to sleep. Lol! And….4-5 years? Ugh it sounds so daunting. I can tell already he’s gonna too the crap the other two put me through. And I’m superstitious enough that I believe it’s because I told everyone one more was great, couldn’t get any worse. *smacks forehead* And I’ve had a shower now *opens arms* 🙂

I was going to start the new Grace Burrowes up there but realised I hadn’t finished a previous one in the series for some reason. (His Lordship’s True Lady). Whaaatttt? I didn’t know how that happened. They can each stand alone anyway so it’s no biggie. But I’m on it.
BTW I really like the cover of that one up there – A Truly Perfect Gentleman. He looks so thoughtful and just a nice guy (and hot in his own quiet way).
Ooooooh Tasha, I feel for you. My 3rd baby was terrible lived on 3 hours of sleep. Cried all day long. I thought I was going to have a break down. She had food intolerance. Great contraception! It does get easier. I promise.
I just finished “No tomorrow”. It was good but I lost interest in parts. 4stars.

Try getting up every time you wake up, have a cup of tea. Then go back to bed. Otherwise your body doesn’t realise it’s meant to sleep when your in bed.
We have the footy finals in Australia at the moment and our team Collingwood is in the Grand Final so I’m making a Collingwood cake to take to work in black and white. That’s my cooking news.
Melinda… update: My sleeping was not great last night. I ended up doing the “get out of bed and lay on the couch” trick. It worked… but I’m still exhausted.

Haven’t read TATTERED but absolutely loved TIMID!!!
I made chili soup in the crockpot the other day, felt like a huge accomplishment. Lol! And it’s finally a little chilly here so it feels like fall. Yea, someone crapped all over my luck the past couple weeks here. Just the other night, I washed down my Tylenol for my headache in the middle of the night with a nice swig of curdled milk. *shudders* Maybe caused by the electricity outage when our transformer blew from the squirrel *RIP* Last night I did the cry it out method (hurts my soul) for 2 hours cuz he STILL was fighting it even after he had fallen asleep and that crap doesn’t work here. I feel like a jerk. And then, the bottle this morning, he didn’t fight it. And those times are so precious, I didn’t wanna stop him. He sucked down 5 ounces in 10 minutes and stopped, so I go to burp him and ALL 5 ounces proceeded to make its way in my hair, my entire shirt, his entire shirt and what not. I’ve never been so wet from spit up in all my days. And then!! Before I even made that bottle, I’d been making one, was just about finished and knocked the whole dang thing over. I KNOW I’ve not broken any mirrors lately so what the heck?! This is like an every day occurence. *and now, I read*

Tasha!! OMG!!! I feel for you. I got pretzel tummy reading your latest parenting woes and remembering how hard it is. My son was the worst and it’s why he is only child. I have no idea how any of you mom’s with more than 1 do it. You are my heros! And single moms?!? No idea how they manage either. Well, let’s hope things settle down for you soon and in meantime you can vent to us and escape with a good book. *hugs*

Tasha – my third and youngest kiddo had no clue that he WASN’T an only child – – we always said it was good he wasn’t the first cause he might have been the only :-). He only wanted to be held and absolutely detested the car seat for a LONGGGG time! Gratefully, he did sleep and eat fairly well but his waking hours were outta control. I feel for you girl! He’s 19 now and still a handful some days but they are always worth it as you know…hang in there! Just know all of us on here are sending you some positive vibes and definitely sympathizing!
Bev – I’ll be waiting to hear how you like Grace Draven’s newest…I bought it yesterday so it’s on my short list.

Oh Tasha; your posts-I’m so sorry hon but YAY he rolled over :). I trust what the girls are telling you that it will get better! I sadly can not relate as I was robbed of being a mommy which is why certain books like Arsen, No Tomorrow gut me, but also why a book like Evidence of the Affair can make me feel so much in such a short amount of time because I could relate to Carrie’s struggle and yes I gasped and actually had to go back and read it again because I questioned myself on whether I read it correctly!

I finished ‘Lies We Tell Ourselves” Amy Mayayo. It had such an empowering message and that is what I am taking away from this. I was left with a resolve to be more careful what I say and do—not only to others, but to myself…especially myself….because we are worth it and so was reading this emotionally touching story. Okay now off to find another book so I can do FLT. 🙂

Good morning! I need to find a new book to start for FLT. I just finished Tattered by Devney Perry. I liked it, but didn’t love it. It was a little slow for me & one aspect of story felt unnecessary. But I loved the little girl and the narration was good.

Honestly, I once had hours that because of my commute I had an hour before I had to clock in. I’d go get a coffee and sit and read not at work but the coffee place or outside. It was a peaceful way to start the day.

Bev-lol-I was late just last week; I woke up a little earlier than normal so I figured what the hell I would read a little, at the time I was just starting No Tomorrow and before I knew it I was late so late that by the time I made it to work I was 45 minutes late. The last time that happened I was near the end of How To Kill A Rockstar and for those that have read that know when I got to that part I was a complete ********* mess and could not go to work so I called in sick.

Amy! I’m gonna put radishes in there… when cooked, they taste like mini potatoes (no bitey radish-flavor). Other than the tang-sour of the peppers that they’ll soak up. I can’t wait!!!

I feel so sad for all of you who don’t eat bread. Bread is my main food group. I just ate a chocolate croissant for breakfast, a ton of crackers in my soup. Muffins have been my go to as of late. Flaky dinner rolls. Sandwiches, you name it. I’m helping an Italian birthday dinner that’ll feature pasta, bread, and an Italian cream cake. Veggie’s make me crampy so I could never do keto.
Pasta is my downfall, Tasha. I LOVE bread… yes, but pasta is my absolute favorite food in the world.
I bought Binding 13! The Storm King by Brendan Duffy is on sale for 1.99 from 11.99. I must have put this on my tbr and forgot about it. It’s a thriller, not romance, but it looks good!
I suppose you do have the veggies that you can make like noodles (zoodles). I’d like to try that sometime, but I’m sure it’s more time consuming than opening a box and dumping them in.
I’m reading 4 books simultaneously right now, but I think I’ll go with this one. ❤️ I’ve read a little over half of it, it’s so much more than even I imagined, and it’s coming soon.

Little update:
I got a mole/birthmark removed today… two weeks for results. I think it will be fine, and I’ve had it since my twenties (at least – maybe longer – in an area that I didn’t really notice it until it was pointed out to me) and lately… it’s been.. . “sensitive”. It’s gone. Let’s hope it stays gone in ALL ways.
How I wish I didn’t have those childhood suburns, and teenage, tan-a-thons. Especially since I’m not even able to tan anyway. Grrrrr to my past child-brain!!
Glad you had it removed Maryse. It will be fine and don’t feel bad. I spent my 20s in a tanning bed. 🙄

Maryse, most moles are harmless and it sounds like you got it checked quickly which means if it has to be treated, you caught it early.
I wish I could go back and tell my teenage self to not use betadine and baby oil and avoid all the sunburns I got. I had skin cancer MOH’s surgery a few years back.
