Good morning and HAPPY Monday!! Another early birds list is here and it’s nicely loaded (and as usual, I’ll add more throughout the day if more go live). π
But first… three things:
1.) My fridge’s compressor just died, and it’s going to cost a fortune to repair it. *sigh* And I hear my current fridge brand and the “replacement compressors” have a seriously BAD track record so if I replaced it, I could be looking at the same issue all over again in a couple of years. So….
2.) I have a new fridge coming this week!! I’m a bit bummed ’cause I certainly wasn’t looking for a new one, but hey, the reviews are great on this new one (and a good track record altogether on this new brand) so I’m happy! Also, this new one solves issues that I was having with the old one (one of the main issues, is that I couldn’t use one half of my fridge, ’cause the ice maker in the door on that side would freeze everything. A complete layer of ice on all my produce ruining it. Grrrrr!!!
3.) I have a beautiful bouquet of bright and sunny sunflowers on my table. Every time I look at them, they make me smile π

Happy Monday!
Maryse, that stinks about fridge. I get so aggravated when unexpected home or car repairs crop up. Who has time or money for that?? Anyway, what brand fridge is bad? Ours is going to conk out any day. π
Happy Monday too all π
That sucks Maryse about your fridge but glad you were able to find one with a much better rating.
Oh and 3 things…
1-Well don’t know if this is really a thing….but anyway Super Bowl was so not exciting, and one of my favorite bands…Maroon 5 I thought was boring π and what was with the rapper, I could not even understand him. Anyway one of my favorite things to watch are “drum lines” I wish the super bowl would do something like this for the 1/2 time show!
2-Finally had 50 degree temps this weekend and walked the hell out of my girls….they did not even want to get out of bed this morning. When I get up they always jump out of bed with me… they didn’t even get up when my husband got up. I had to bribe them with treats to get them to come downstairs so I could take them outside. We could hit 60 today….YAY. These temps are so not normal so I know we are going to pay as later in the week they are calling for ice.
3-I do not know if any of you remember me telling you I was going to try “Stitch Fix” I have done it for 6 months now and I am ending it. I not once ever kept all 5 items and the most items I kept at one time was 3. This last fix was the end for me as you can send your stylist things that you like and or dislike which I did plus everyday I go on the site and thumbs up or thumbs down on the items they are showing you and everything in the fix I just got are things I have specifically requested them not to send me. I just feel like it’s a scam because if you don’t keep anything they keep your 20$ stylist fee and nothing in this one am I keeping. You would think after 6 months you would be keeping everything…..Okay well that’s my rant….sorry.
Leslie – my arch nemesis right now is an LG, my replacement is a Whirlpool. π
*tosses glitter* yep, I’m with Jenn, the weather today is beautiful! Of course, I have to work. But man… It’s a nice tease!
Maryse, ugh on the fridge, that blows! But hooray for a new one!
I’m going to be pretty scarce this week as I’ve got a big proof, but I think you all will be pretty excited next Monday!
Oooooh I wanna know the proof too!!!!
1. It was supposed to snow, but…..
2. I almost bought a 10 jar of kaya lemon flavored jam off Amazon because it looked so good on a show I was watching.
3. On Netflix I think my next love will be Romance is a Bonus Book. Only an ep in but love the 2 leads.
bev OMG lemon flavored jam????? YUM YUM YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
Sorry Maryse about your fridge. We had to replace our d/w and it took me months. Hate shopping for appliances.
Beautiful here too. What a tease Grey!
Way to much , but I love the 50s style refrigerators.
https://www.smeg.com/refrigerators/
Grey-talk about a tease is right! And speaking of teases what is this *big proof* you speak of……next Monday…ugh….okay well at least it is something to look forward to π
Does anybody watch Guy’s Grocery Games; I love it and I am always amazed how they do it. I mean I know they are professional chefs and all but holy hell to think fast like that and than to cook what they cook in such limited time-just amazes me.
All of Guy’s shows are my favorites!!!!! He’s hilarious and so personable and I really feel… genuine.
I used to find him a bit obnoxious and “out there” in his style, but he’s fast become my most favorite to watch.
Maryse me too-I love the diners and dives show as well. I binged the grocery games yesterday while I was making things for the super bowl and on one of the rounds they only had 3 minutes to shop I for one could not function under that pressure.
Leslie-I remember you saying you watch the Young and the Restless and my Mom just told me that Kristoff St. John (Niel Winters) died. Was not sure if you knew. I do not know any details other than her mentioning it to me.
Monday, huh? I’ll be prepared!
1. I’m going to admit. I wanted the Super Bowl to go into overtime just to say that the score was 3-3 into overtime. THAT would’ve been funny. (Both teams were playing worse than my high school team did!)
2. Little dude wants an aquarium. Not for the fish, but for a light that moves and looks cool in the water. lol But he’ll love the fish. So, for the first time in years, I know what he wants for his birthday.
3. It rained 1.67 inches over the weekend! Just to get an idea, the average is about 15 inches, so that’s a lot for here. Sadly, at one point, I was walking in it. It hadn’t been raining much, only slight, scattered sprinkles, when suddenly, downpour! Little dude and I ran like crazy to home. Thank goodness for umbrellas and hot chocolate. π
Oh and that list? There are four separate books that appeal this time around!
Harbor, of course, but I have to read the first book.
False Start – Soccer player and high school? YEP!
The Rockstars Scheming Bride – That looks cute.
Pull at my Heart, because who doesn’t love a sexy Irishman?
Boo to HAVING to get a new fridge! I hope you enjoy it when it arrives though! I got a new one a few years ago with all the bells and whistles and I LOVE that fridge SO much that it’s ridiculous!
Lemon flavored jam is intriguing!! And so is the show Bev mentioned…I’m going to have to check it out too!
My husband watches Guy constantly! So, I am on Guy and HGTV overload! I do like his quirky style though!
Grey is such a tease! I have a theory but I’m not saying anything in case I’m wrong….but I hope I’m right!
Jenn, poo on the Stitch Fix thing! You gave them more than enough time to figure out what you liked.
We had a great weekend too! Beautiful weather and my daughter made a surprise trip home from school for a quick visit.
I just read about Kristoff St. John. That is so sad. He was only 52.
Happy Monday to all!
I’ve been wanting to read The Retrieval so I one clicked that one!
1-That superbowl was BORING. Even the commercials. Next year, which I think is here in Tampa, I wish they would do a country half-time show. I don’t think it has ever been done
2-Almost done with Free. Feels like it is taking forever and there are SO MANY characters!
3-I got a Kindle Fire for free through work and it’s weird to see book covers in color. So used to my paperwhite!
Steph-The only full on country super bowl 1/2 time show I remember was along time ago, I know it had Travis Tritt; Tanya Tucker, I believe Wynonna Judd, and I also remember Shania Twain at some point did a couple songs not sure of the year as she was not the main performer….I think it was No Doubt.
MicheleG-Yes I did give them more than enough so there loss…I guess I will just have to go back to shopping for myself which I hate. I never can find anything I like, to indecisive when it comes to clothes shopping.
Yuck to needing a new fridge unexpectedly, but also YAY for the excitement of getting a new fridge! π Home ownership is sometimes not as fun as it looked in the brochure, especially at times when appliances go out…like the oven COMPLETELY dying two days before Christmas. UGH.
Amy yes… I swear it/s true. EVERY SINGLE month there’s something extra that I have to pay for that’s not in my usual monthly bills. Grrrrrr!
Three things:
1. We have snow here! Not a ton (maybe a couple of inches), and just enough to look pretty but not enough to cause chaos.
2. Iβm kinda in a reading slump but VERY hopeful Iβll snap out of it soon as Iβm actually getting a flutter in my tummy again when I look at my pretties in my library.
3. Yep, Super Bowl pretty much sucked but what REALLY ticked me off was that they didnβt play Sweet Victory in its entirety or even have Maroon 5 sing it. JERKS! And Adam Levine sounded crappy. *snort*
Jenn, I watch The Bold & the Beautiful (not Y&R).
This is someone making the jam and toast like on the show. As in the show they use fresh tangerines. But what looks good at Amazon is the lemon one.
https://youtu.be/vO8SUAVeG9s
I LOVE Triple D and Triple G! Our tv is always on Food Network.
Sucks about the fridge, Maryse. A day or two after my last leg surgery, my son called the hospital and said that our water heater had gone out. Things always seem to happen at the most inopportune times.
RIP Kristoff St. John–I spent many years when I was younger loving Neil and Drucilla!
Nay-Yep love those ones too-and I am thinking long time fans of the Y&R will be devastated as heβs been on there since 1991!
1. I have Whirlpool! Sucks that it broke, but isnβt it fun when you do have a shiny new appliance- all clean and untouched?
2. Ordered The Silent Patient for tomorrow….does anyone wanna buddy read it?
3. I have nothing exciting to write about. Iβm almost caught up on laundry! Yay! Lol
Oh and Tasha!! Not only is my new ridge clean and untouched, it’s one of the fingerprint-proof stainless steel ones!! YAY!!!
That’s another plus over my LG ’cause it marks up SO easy and drives me crazy.
Tasha~ Does caught up on laundry mean folded and put away? If so, MAJOR WIN. It is my most hated chore.
Well, yes this time bc the hubs took a day off for Super Bowl and did that part. Itβs my most hated too. Putting it away, that is. It usually sits in baskets for days.
1. I have a little crush on Guy Fieri. No clue why. Just do.
2. Watched maybe 10 minutes of the Super Boring Bowl. Saw the Andy Warhol commercial. I don’t get it.
3. My fridge is 14 years old and shiny black like a giant coffin in my kitchen. But new one means new EVERYTHING so they match. Ugh.
I’m reading All Your Perfects. I have friends who struggled with infertility, so it’s really emotional for me… wondering if that’s what they thought & felt. Better have a HEA, all I’m sayin’.
We have an LG refrigerator. Never again! Both ice makers have broken. Luckily Iβve been able to buy parts and fix them.
1. I didn’t watch the Super Bowl this year but it sounds like I didn’t miss much.
2. We’ve had an LG fridge for about 4 or 5 years and it’s still going really well. It doesn’t have an ice maker, though.
3. None of those books really floating my boat today. Maybe I’m just being picky π
Mine lasted 8 years Jan. Good years… but darnit I should not have to replace a Fridge of that caliber so soon!
Hey Maryse!
Damm! I’ m so sorry about your fridge! But look at the bright side, now you have a new one. News things are always good.
Look, I’m looking for your help… I never saw anything about this kind of books in here (and I follow you since 2012) and I might be wrong, but I decided to ask anyway. Lol Have you ever read any good novel about reencarnation? But not just any reencarnation novel, but something that is close to spiritism… I’m desperate! Lol But I don’t know where I can find good recommendations… do you know about any?
Thanks!
Carla I’ll post your question soon and see what we can come up with. π Another list!! YAY US!!!
For those of us, cough, cough over the age of 40, I have really enjoyed the latest books by L.B. Dunbar. She has heroines and heroes over the age of 40 in second chance romances. I have read 3 of the 4 and would definitely recommend them. A nice change of pace:)
Jan are you into American football?
I finished FREE last night. Was good, I always enjoy K.A. books, some more than others. I got confused quite a bit. Too many characters and dual names because of MC names. Felt like she was trying to pack too much into this last book and set up a few characters for a new series?
Any thoughts on this anyone?
I do have to say that KA does the best epilogues though.
I finished Free last night (3 stars), it was TOO MUCH.
Started All Your Perfects because it needs to be back to the library and then I’ll start the Jack and Jill Series (!!!!!!)
bev I do quite like watching American football. We have our own version of football called Australian Rules, which is a very different game. Funnily enough, I rarely watch Aussie Rules. But I do watch the odd NFL game. I don’t understand all of the rules LOL, but it’s fun to watch.
False 9 is really good! Lavin was painfully awkward in the beginning but by the end I loved him! Itβs a quick, fun read!
Hi Carla!
I just posted your reader question asking for recommendations for reincarnation stories. π
Here’s the link. I posted my recommendation already, but keep an eye on it, ’cause we’ll build a list of this genre. π
