in Latest Book Releases

<— Good morning and happy Monday everyone!! Here are the earlybirds that just went LIVE. and I made a list, and that one there to the left sounds like the whole shebang!!! :D

But first, let’s catch up with each other and play “Three Things”:

  1. I’m excited about that new “horror short story” series that Amazon just released (each one written by a different author). Perfect for a quick scary bite before bed, and I read one yesterday which was pretty good.
  2. I just ordered an activated charcoal teeth whitening toothpaste. ;) I’m so curious about this stuff (whitening strips make my teeth too sensitive) and supposedly this stuff is awesome. We’ll see. ;) There will be NO pictures. Hahahahah!!
  3. I’m loving my sleepy time tea ritual every night again. I dunno if it’s psychosomatic or a placebo affect (just the act of drinking a calming tea before bed), or if the ingredients in it really work, but either way, it’s soothing, I love the messages on each tea bag, and I think it helps!

  1. Once Upon A Wild Fling by Lauren Blakely <— LAUREN BLAKELY’S LATEST IS LIVE!! HE’S A SINGLE FATHER/HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND/ROCK STAR ALERT!!!! “…He’s friends with my brother, he’s a single dad, and he’s a sexy, in-demand rock star. He might as well wear an off-limits, totally unavailable, and don’t-even-attempt-to-ride-this-ride sign. Then he asks me to be his plus-one when his band plays at his high school reunion, and the night unfolds in ways I never expect...”
  2. All My Life by Prescott Lane <— Prescott Lane’s latest IS LIVE!!! SINGLE FATHER ALERT!! OMG THIS LOOKS & SOUNDS SO GORGEOUS!!!! She’s loved him forever but he loved someone else…“...I loved him while he loved someone else. I loved him when he had a baby with her. I loved him when she left him. The greatest of love stories is that between a dad and his daughter. I should know. I’ve had a front row seat. First steps, first words, all the big moments…

    …I’m their go-to girl.
The best part of any love story is the happily ever after.
But what if the happily ever after doesn’t include you?”

  3. Duty (Andino + Haven Book 1) by Bethany-Kris <— MAFIA ROMANCE ALERT!! “…Haven Murphy is doing her own thing, and she does it well. The owner of a successful Brooklyn strip club, she makes it her only goal to never fail. She’s just trying to live her life when a morning jog puts her face to face with a man that will change the direction of her life with a single conversation. She knows there’s a dark side to him beyond his good looks...”
  4. Rock Reclaimed: Rockstar Romantic Suspense (Rock Revenge Trilogy Book 2) by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott
  5. Quick Fall (Tracy Brothers Book 2) by Michelle Dayton
  6. Hard and Fast (Locker Room Diaries) by Kathy Lyons
  7. Trusting You by Ketley Allison <— FOOTBALL STAR ALERT!! SHE HAS TO FIND THE FATHER…My best friend died tonight and her baby girl might be taken away from me, too, if I don’t find Lily’s father before she’s ripped out of my life for good. Unfortunately, I know who he is. He’s my best friend’s ex, and I hate him in memory and on sight. There’s just so little of my heart left, and I can’t–won’t–reserve any of it for that bastard...”
  8. Piece of Dragon: A Fantasy Romance (Haret Chronicles: Qilin Book 1) by Laurel Chase <— FANTASY ALERT!! “…Everything goes to hell when a gorgeous stranger dies right in front of me, resurrects himself as a dragon, and begs me to follow him straight into the Underbelly beast. He claims I’m the lost Qilin Queen – a magical freaking unicorn. I can smell the truth in his words, and he’s desperate...”
  9. The Ways We Fall Apart (The Parker Tales Book 1) by Christina Coryell
  10. Queen of Hearts (Gambling on Love Series Book 4) by M. Andrews
  11. Kiss Me Goodnight (The Claire Goodnite Series Book 4) by Jennifer Rebecca
  12. A Game of Chance by Emma Shortt
  13. An Inconvenient Dare by Bethany Lopez <— BETHANY LOPEZ ALERT!! THE DARE & THE SECRET… “…When her best friend dares her to pick up a sexy stranger with panty-dropping dimples, she takes the dare and approaches Enrique. Sensing Vanessa’s uncertainty, Enrique gives her full control in the bedroom…until he doesn’t. What started as an inconvenient dare turns into more than Vanessa ever expected, but when she learns the secret Enrique’s been keeping...”
  14. Throne of Lies: Prequel to Legacy of Lies by Tara Leigh <— HE WAS CONSIDERED A PRODIGAL SON… “…I reigned from a throne of lies. My fall from grace . . . wasn’t graceful at all...”

  18. Bitten by the Beast by Alexa RILEY <— ALEXA RILEY VAMPIRES ALERT!! “...Kane Viscardi is unlike other vampires. He’s spent most of his time hiding away and is alone in the world without a mate. Until one night when there’s an unexpected knock at the door. Suddenly something awakens inside of him for the first time in a century...”
  19. absolution: a novel by Ava Harrison <— SHE ALWAYS FALLS FOR MEN WHO HURT HER… “I had a new resolve.
    Focus on my career.
    Stay single.
    And then I met him.
    Jace Montgomery.
A wounded widower with two young kids.
He was exactly everything I was avoiding.
So I did my best to stay away.
    But then he kissed me.
    And I fell.
Hard for a man who would never be mine…”

For those going on a road trip soon, or maybe you’ve got some projects that require both hands this weekend but still allows you to “listen”… check out the free audible trial + 2 free audiobooks deal —>

  • AND! Here’s the fun-tool again! —> Find out which of YOUR Kindle books are available as audiobooks at a BARGAIN-PRICE! <— This thing is so cool (Amazon calls it “Matchmaker“)! It’s an Amazon feature, that scans all of your Kindle books and will list all of the ones you have that are also available as an audiobook at a discounted price (not normal audiobook prices). *tosses glitter* happy Monday! No work today, yahoo!

Jenn October 8, 2018 at 6:38 AM

Happy Monday!

Three things:

1. Very excited for Love Sincerely Yours that will be on my kindle when I wake up tomorrow Sara Ney…Can’t wait to dive in to this and two more up there…Fight or Flight and Player.

2. Most of you know but I saw A Star Is Born and loved it!

3. Made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies last night!

Leslie M October 8, 2018 at 6:47 AM

Morning! *wipes sleep from eyes and weakly retosses some glitter*

Please pass me a cookie.

Cheryl October 8, 2018 at 7:02 AM

It’s monday?!! Where did the weekend go!! *Grabs a cookie and coffee and heads to work.

Maryse October 8, 2018 at 8:02 AM

I know it right??? I miss my weekend already. It was a good one though. I made more chicken and dumplings (without the dumplings). How I love comfort food.

Maryse October 8, 2018 at 8:02 AM

Twirls in the glitter!!! LUCKY GREY!!!!!

Nay October 8, 2018 at 8:04 AM

Good morning! Happy Monday!

3 Things:
1) Jenn–you MUST read Gus! I loved it even more than Bright Side.
2) Prayers to the loved ones of those killed in the tragic limousine accident, especially the children left behind.I realize even more now how lucky my son and his friends were.
3) After a very stressful weekend, I’m ready to do nothing but read today!

Jenn October 8, 2018 at 8:43 AM

Thank you NAY-I definitely will! Please keep the prayers coming.

Also I am losing track-what is everyone reading right now.

I’ve been wanting to ask has anyone tried “Stitch Fix” I am excited because I get my first box this week. I had nothing to lose, the first time you try it they waive the 20.00 stylist fee and you pay for nothing up front. I’ll let you know after I receive my box my final thoughts on it all and If i kept anything.

bev October 8, 2018 at 8:52 AM

1. I started a few new dramas and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes aka Hundred Million Stars from the Sky is definitely my must watch of the bunch.

2 BUT I’m also reading! And reading pretty regularly.

3. Um….let’s watch kpop. Lol. Can you spot when one of the mics breaks and how they get it off the stage without stopping the performance?

Nay October 8, 2018 at 11:37 AM

Ugh! I’m doing everything I can to avoid reading. That usually means I need to start a different book, and there are so many shinies just calling “Read me! Read me!”

I think I’m going to put Medicine Man down and come back to it after I read something else. I found a new book by a new author called Ember (author: Christi Whitson) that came out on 10/1. It’s free with KU, so I’m going to give it a try.

Jenn October 8, 2018 at 11:50 AM

Nay-I looked it up; that looks really good, right up my alley. I clicked it-can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

AnneC October 8, 2018 at 12:07 PM

I am so nervous/excited for B.N. Toler’s book, “What Lies Between”, on the 10th. Ike and Charlotte?! I know I’m going to cry but hopefully it will not be too heartbreaking.

Michele G October 8, 2018 at 12:52 PM

Yay!!! Dancing in glitter! Thanks Grey!

1. I’m reading Full Tilt (one of my challenge reads from our dear Grey who apparently wants to throw me into full on depression). Thankfully Jenn made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies which I will promptly add to my survival kit! I mean I did just finish Bright Side and Gus ….so apparently I want to keep Kleenex in business! It is really good though…I mean there’s nothing like a book by Emma Scott!
2. I made the Mississippi Roast last week for the first time – - it was wonderful! Who would have thought I’d pick up recipe ideas and book suggestions in the same place…gotta love it!
3. As some of you know, I celebrated my middle kiddo’s 21st birthday over the weekend. It was a success – he survived and so did my husband and I – - actually, we might have been more challenged than the 21 year old since he’s 6′ 7″ and 240 lbs, he can absorb more alcohol than his aging parents :-)

Tasha J October 8, 2018 at 1:05 PM

1. Ive wanted to paint trim all day, but I’ve had a Chiropractor appt, baby feedings, and prepping dinner (also chicken and dumplings) and currently fingering J on napping. By the time I start it’ll be dinner time and running the kids off to soccer practice and my day is over. It’s stuff like this that’s made me dub this place “The Land of Unfinished Things”.

2. I read for 5 minutes today in the waiting room.

3. I spent 3 hours grocery shopping yesterday. At 2 different places and I took a break in between to feed. It felt like the biggest hassle ever. I’m trying click list next.

4. All my hair is falling out and I won’t take vitamins so it’ll never get better. :’(

Tasha J October 8, 2018 at 1:06 PM

OMG!!! FIGHTING J on napping. WHY would spell check ever sub that word?!!

Nay October 8, 2018 at 1:12 PM

Nay October 8, 2018 at 1:13 PM

And how did the chiropractor visit go?

Tasha J October 8, 2018 at 1:27 PM

Biotin is a vitamin though, right? I’m terrible at taking vitamins or medicine or anything if I don’t absolutely have to. I don’t like putting foreign stuff in my body. I always get crappy side effects. I’ve just accepted it, but it’s a ton. Like I could clean my brush out with a handful every day and the shower and run my hands through it and still get a bunch.
And, I’ve been skeptical about this Chiropractor thing. I was super anxious my first visit and expressed my fears. I had to go back every couple days for weeks and it didn’t seem like anything was changing much. And then it got worse after one visit, I was in so much pain (nerve pain in my back, pretty positive it’s from the epidural and was triggered back by bad posture or something). And when I went back and expressed how much worse it was, he had them do some ultrasound on it and then light therapy. Which was fine, I couldn’t feel it, but they put ointment (like icy hot, which I’ve never used) on it and didn’t say anything, so my back was on FIRE after. I was near tears, thought I was having a bad skin reaction or something, was freaking out (but still stubbornly wouldn’t call to see if it was normal or anything). But, it was better!! The best actually, practically gone. And then I’ve had 2 regular appts since and it’s like a complete turn around. He just does some electrodes? With heating pads or something for a while then stretches some stuff and cracks some stuff and that’s it. And for a while I thought he was delusional that anything was working, but it seems to be the real deal.

bev October 8, 2018 at 3:38 PM

It can also be a side effect of low thyroid. Also, nails being weak and feeling sleepy. Like you could nap every day.

Tasha J October 8, 2018 at 3:43 PM

I’ve been tested for that a couple times, but it’s been a while. I know it’s hormonal and normal after babies, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all. My nails are fine. And feeling drained, crazy tired is an off and on thing. I think that’s just cuz I’m so overly busy that once in a while it takes a toll. I can never physically nap when it’s light out anymore anyway. It’s a bummer.

Sharon F October 8, 2018 at 4:17 PM

I FINALLY started JR Ward’s Consumed – and so far I’m not at all disappointed. I can’t believe I didn’t download it before now. These characters are gritty and not disappointing at all. I keep hoping there will be a surprise easter egg of a crossover to something, but I know I’ll be disappointed. Will check in when I’ve finished!

Tasha J October 8, 2018 at 4:56 PM

I’ve almost painted a door!! Well, the trim around a door. I have to take a break- again- for supper. An hour or 2 and I’ll tackle 1 whole wall! LOL

Jan October 8, 2018 at 5:29 PM

1. A Star is born isn’t released here till next week but I’m definitely going. I think my hubs will come with me to this one too, even though it’s not his usual kinda film. We can have a date night :D Maybe a pizza first?
2. I’m not working today. Yay! but gotta do a mega grocery shop. It’s just one of those weeks when I’ve run out of EVERYTHING.
3. In a bit of a book funk :( I’ve got some challenge books to read and a big tbr but nothing’s really calling my name……… where is my next new 5 star read? *sigh*

Linda October 8, 2018 at 5:36 PM

Reading Not Until You by Corinne Michaels and loving it!! Another automatic author for me.
Three things:
1. Saw A Star is Born over the weekend too and loved it!! Bradley Cooper is just plain yummy.
2. Made chicken and dumplings with the dumplings!! Lol
3. I had special ordered farm table w/ chairs and matching chairs around island in the white wash from Country Treasures and I absolutely love it!! Home decorating makes me happy!! Now need to to lug all my fall decorating crates out.

Maryse October 8, 2018 at 6:09 PM

Linda… all three of your “three things” I gotta say… I like your style!!

Now… can you show me a photo of that farm table? I’m also looking for one, bench seat on one side, chairs on the rest.

Maryse October 8, 2018 at 6:14 PM

Jan… for that movie (guy-wise)… I think something more than pizza is required.

R. Renee October 8, 2018 at 6:34 PM

1. I just got my grabby little fingers on an ARC of HA Robinson’s Chasing the Sunrise releasing on the 23rd! I know several of you read and loved The Pebble Jar–this is the follow up! And the preorder link just went up!

2. I just had shrimp, celery, and cashew stir-fry and I was so stuffed I couldn’t finish it. Now I’m starving.

3. Speaking of farm tables, I’m obsessed with this house. Trying to convince the hubs to sell and move me to Italy!

bev October 8, 2018 at 7:43 PM

Do it.

bev October 8, 2018 at 7:46 PM

Whoa Maryse.

Maryse October 8, 2018 at 8:57 PM

*giggle giggle*

Cheryl October 8, 2018 at 9:10 PM

Ok,now I’m craving chicken and dumplings, except it’s supposed to be hot and humid tomorrow.

Finished Bluebird. It was a little rough around the edges debut novel that was sweet, with some angst.

Now what?!

bev October 8, 2018 at 9:14 PM

Cheryl October 8, 2018 at 9:28 PM

Wow, Michelle G that’s a giant of a son!!

Tasha, you’re making me tired hearing about all you’re doing. You’re one busy momma- no wonder your hair is falling out. After my kids I took vitamins at bedtime. Found I remembered it better then vs. mornings.

Cheryl October 8, 2018 at 9:53 PM

Started Trusting You. The beginning already makes me want to cry.

Jan October 8, 2018 at 10:03 PM

Maryse. LOL.

Jan October 8, 2018 at 10:05 PM

Wow R. That’s some house. Gorgeous. And the setting too. Ooh la la. Oops that’s French. I mean, si bella!

R. Renee October 8, 2018 at 10:08 PM

Right? I know you can totally buy liveable homes in that part of Italy for very little comparatively, but this is beyond liveable (if the info is to be believed). I told my husband, all I need are my books, my poodle, and my laptop!

Melinda October 9, 2018 at 5:34 AM

Maryse, we have relax tea in Australia and sleepy tea. I can send some to you if you would like? Are you sleeping better?

Wow Michelle “snap” my daughter turned 21 years in June. But 6 ft 7 is bigggg.

I am waiting for “ A Star is born” to hit Australia.

Robin I can see a lot of potential with that house and it’s so cheap. Italy is beautiful. The food is delicious too.

Haven’t anything worth mentioning.

But I’m starting “When Forever Changes” Siobhan Davis. Highly recommended

R. Renee October 9, 2018 at 8:21 AM

I love Italy, especially that region. And I can eat and drink there for a fraction of what it costs here! That’s it. I’m packing!

Maryse October 10, 2018 at 9:20 AM

I would LOVE that Melinda. But maybe we have it here? What is it called? I love bedtime teas so much!
