TightΒ <—Β YAY!!! It’s FINALLY LIVE! One of my favorite twisty-turns *gotcha!!!* darkish-erotica-super-romance FAVORITE authors just released a new book, and it’s a standalone!! I’m reading it as we speak.
How do I know I already love her?! Check out my reviews of these standalones, and you’ll see. THIS author always surprises me!
And then… the part of this latest book’s blurb that made me sit up straighter and take notice!
“The issue is that I don’t even know she exists, and he thinks she’s dead. The issue is that sh!t is about to hit the fan and I can’t hold on to him tight enough.”
WHOA!?? WHAT does that mean?
Check out the FULL blurb!
This is not a story of servitude. This is a story of strength.
I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.
I also hadn’t got laid in three years. Hadn’t been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup… a while ago.
Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.
The issue is his secret.
The issue is her.
The issue is that I don’t even know she exists, and he thinks she’s dead.
The issue is that sh!t is about to hit the fan and I can’t hold on to him tight enough.
Oh yesssssss. I wanna play!
*gasp* Holy CRAP!!!!! I don’t know if I just forgot this was coming out or if I didn’t even know about it to begin with, but either way I’m gonna be that book’s b!tch and love every second of it!! I absolutely *loved* Sex Love Repeat and Black Lies, and I can’t wait to find out what this one has in store for us! *bouncing leg*
Oh man, 3.2.1 or this one? *sigh*
Amy, some are telling me I need to have read J.A Huss’s entire series of other books if I want to read 3,2,1 since it’s sort of a wrap up of her series…
So I guess that one’s out for me. π
Okay it’s Cathy and she told me:
Cathy: Don’t read 3,2,1 if you haven’t read Rook & Ronin series along with the spin offs and the Dark, Dirty and Deadly series. They’re all connected! 3,2,1 wraps it all up!
I have the Rook & Ronin series but haven’t read it yet (how many times have I said that line? *eyeroll*), and I had no idea that 3.2.1 was related to those two series. Wow, bullet dodged on that one! Yet another reason why I’m thankful for this place… π
A big huge THANK YOU to Cathy for that info! π
Right? So for me, I think I’m on to The Five Stages of Falling in Love. π
OR!! This brand new one right here!
Well damn Maryse how my books do we have to read to get to 321? Glad I decided on Past Heaven because I also was hovering over 321 as well. Thanks Cheryl but none of the reviews were indicating any kind of book order??
So did MichelleS read all of those first? I’m a little tle bummed out now ’cause I was kinda anticipating a dark read. Maybe Tight instead, but aindon’t know. π
It says stand alone book, so I’m still going to try it. I read the Rook and Ronin series, but the author said it was just in their world, but it wasn’t necessary to read the other series.
Tight looks… Interesting in a very good way. *grins* Nothing like a sick twist to catch my interest.
Ohhh, this sounds really good. I agree Maryse what does that mean; but boy I want to find out!!!
Hi y’all! I just read ALL of JA Huss books this week because I thought that they were all connected. I’m exhausted!! You do NOT have to read them to read 321. None of the her other characters are in it. But I do recommend all of the Rook and Ronin series. They were fabulous!!!
I also read 3 2 1 without having read all the other books. I’d only read the 1st Rook and Ronin book back when it first came out. The author makes it pretty clear 3 2 1 is standalone and not part of a series. Now, of course, I’m going back through and picking up the JA Huss books in my tbr to see if there is a connection ;). It woud be cool if it was all really interrelated – just because.
Shelley & K how did y’all like 321?
Thank you Shelly and K and Tessa for that update!! π
Okay so it’s back on my short TBR list. LOL!!!
K I also read the first one… so I’m glad I can jump in anyway. YAY ME!
I second and third those who said you don’t need to read any of the other JA Huss books to read 3 2 1. I’m a big fan of the author so I’d read them all anyways, but they’re definitely not necessary. Now there was a mention of a character from 3 2 1 in Coming For You, he came up in the end of both books. Nothing huge, but it was kinda neat…

I didn’t read any other books in her series, and it felt like a complete stand alone. No other characters were in the book that needed any explaining. I don’t think you need to read anything else if you feel like picking up 3.2.1.
MichelleS, did you like 3, 2, 1?? I barely started it and this book Tight is making me twitchy so not sure if I want to continue it right now! Lol!
Re: 321- I don’t usually do “dark” reads, but I’m doing the popsugar reading challenge. I picked this book as ‘a book that scares me’ because I really don’t read horror. Thus, I was going for more of a psychological scared :). It was a good book. It’s dark, but the ending turns it around to making the darkness seem ok, IMO. (I didn’t feel dirty after reading it if that makes sense.). Please, please know that I don’t mean any offense to anyone who enjoys dark reads because I get the appeal. It’s just a personal response I have to certain triggers inherent to a lot of darker books. Also, I read it in one night. Non-stop because I was so drawn into the intrigue.
Thanks for the feedback K. I only like certain types of dark reads and it’s always a gamble for me to start one. If I end up in a story with violence to women, I’m outta there quick. Can’t stomach it. So I just finished the sample of 321 and I think I’m going to take the plunge. Thanks again for your feedback. MichelleS has me pretty intrigued with her reactions to this book.
Fabi, I think you’ll be ok. Violence to women is my turn-off, too. There might be a part or two where you will need to push on through because it turns around to make itself right, if that makes any kind of sense. Lol
It does make sense K. Thank you.
You’re welcome, Fabi
Fabi – oh oh…. “If I end up in a story with violence to women, Iβm outta there quick”….. 3.2.1. definitely has some disturbing “violence” to women…. just be warned.
Oh oh … Which one was it that I read and could barely finish? It was a while back. Was it The Siren?
Fabi – it was The Original Sinners, with Nora and Soren. I will warn you that 3.2.1 has some scenes that are cringe-worthy. Violence towards women, yup, it’s in there. As a theme and as some of the scenes and sex-play. So if that’s not your thing, then avoid this one. Okay… let’s see… do you remember Krylov’s Bad Things (of course you do, silly question)…. picture Carson as a woman.
I moved on to Station Eleven. Totally gripping. Loving it!!!! Surely this meets the criteria for something on the Reading Challenge??
Maryse had to go and post that whole Sunday bargains post, and now I am perusing that list….. Tight is a for sure one to add to my list. That author proved herself with Black Lies.
MichelleS you are so right. You have such an incredible memory. I think I’m too far into it to bail now; at least until I get to rise parts. Hopefully I can just cringe through them. …and Carson wasn’t put in the hospital due to physical abuse like Not a was. His was more psychological and for a reason and…well you know what I’m talking about. Anyways…glad you’re liking ltation Eleven. That’s my next one. π
Sorry for all the typos. I was walking and writing. Silly me.
Fabi – I think with Blue, too, it is psychological at this point. And Nora in the hospital was definitely disturbing. That was probably the worst of it, for that series, BTW, if you ever want to revisit it. Station Eleven is really really good. I keep talking to my son and husband about it. I may turn in to one of those “preppers” by the end of this book. I feel the need to stock up on Aspirin and Antibiotics and canned goods!
Y’all aren’t helping my book ADD with that info about not needing to read any of the other books before 3.2.1. I’m going to actually stick to what I decided (for once!) and read Tight first. I’m all giddy over what she has in store for us with this one! π
