Hey my *other* e-reader friends! This is a personal note to y’all (and I’m in the same boat as you guys). π
Now many of you might already know about the free Kindle apps (in fact, that’s what I downloaded for my iPad and what I read all my Amazon/Kindle books on, as I don’t have a Kindle, either).
But back in the day, I used to always include links to the free Kindle reader apps on Amazon at the bottom of my bargain-book posts, but lately I’ve been forgetting. So I’m dedicating this post to those that didn’t realize this existed.
I know a few of you have been missing out on some of these awesome book deals on Amazon lately (for example, the Sherrilyn Kenyon “Dark Hunters” bundle was on sale last week). I heard a bunch of my other e-reader friends collectively groan over that one, ’cause it looks like it was an Amazon-only sale.
Michelle: Anybody know if it’s on B&N. I wish they had it on Nook too
Megan: … π They never have sales like Amazon
Stephanie: Not on Nook yet!!! I’m dying to read this. I have a love hate with my Nook when this happens……which is a lot lately.
Heather:Β I have aΒ nook, and many times the bargains do not match up for me or some of the authors are not listed. Β Makes me kinda wish I picked theΒ KindleΒ instead.

Well, Heather. You can still have your Nook and enjoy a little “Kindle” too. π You know… “have you cake and eat it too”. <— Tee hee!! See what I did there? Did it work? π *sigh* Β My “corny-ness” knows no bounds…
Okay, and like… you know how it seems as if so many of our favorite indie authors seem to release their latest books on Amazon (and… sometimes it takes a bit longer for their books to show up elsewhere)? And sometimes, they publish their books strictly on Amazon (and no where else)…
Lysa: WHEN IS IT COMING TO NOOK????????????? I am dying here!!!
Krysta: I cant wait to read it!! Curse my nook for not having it yet, I guess i need just need some patience haha
Heather: will it be available for Nook? My reading buddy that I have been texting all day to discuss this with said she can’t get it!
Gabby: I can’t find it on iBooks or nook!
Hazel: Man…………B&N doesn’t have it for my nook. AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Problem solved my friends! You can continue loving your Nook (and other e-readers), and still have access to Kindle sales & books. You don’t have to wait and you don’t have to pass up an amazing Amazon Kindle book-bargain anymore. ‘CauseΒ anyone can purchase and read Kindle books. Even if you don’t have a Kindle device, because NOW, your web browser becomes the Kindle device (with the free Kindle Cloud reader). No need to download anything using this feature, and all your books are there ready and waiting.
Yep!
Amazon offers variousΒ free Kindle apps and a free Kindle Cloud reader for any and ALL of us to use. You can either use the free Kindle App for your smartphone, tablet, AND your desktop computer (just like you’re using a Kindle, but right through your web browser).
Nikki: I have aΒ nookΒ so I downloaded theΒ kindleΒ appΒ on my computer to get to this book today! I am blown away!
So if you’re mostly using another e-reader, you’re still good to go (and can still get in on the Amazon sales and new releases) by using their Kindle app & Cloud readerΒ <— click there and it’llΒ automatically take you to the Amazon cloud reader on the desktop and to the Kindle reading app page for you to choose one for your mobile platform. Log in (or create) your Amazon account, and get reading!
Kristy: First App I downloaded when I finally got my first iPhone a few months ago. LOVE IT
Maryse’s Book Blog: Me too!! I used to have a Sony e-reader, but then my husband got me an iPad and I’ve been using the Kindle app ever since. All my books in one happy app
Ivette: I have it on Nook HD and phone. I love it..!
Carrie: yep yep! i heart my kindle app! when i’m home i can read on my laptop & when i’m out & about it’s all on my phone.
Maryse’s Book Blog: The cool thing is the new “cloud app” that works with your browser, so now your web browser becomes the Kindle app. Very cool! From what I see, all the same features, and nothing to download at all. Just go with your browser and all your books are there!
Robinetta: I love the Amazon Kindle free app. I installed it on my Nook, Samsung Galaxy s5, and my tablet. I have more Kindle books downloaded on my stuff then I have from Barnes & Noble. Plus being on Amazon Prime I get daily e-mails alerting me to the newest free and deals on Kindle E-books.
Tricia: I will never be without my kindle or kindle app and my maryse.net……I wouldnt know what to read without you guys!!
YAY awesome deals and books!! And YAY free e-reader apps!! π
How do you get this APP on your Nook? I have no idea π
Great question Nicole. Maybe it’s only the Nook HD? I don’t have one (no e-reader other than my iPad and my Kindle app) but I’d love to know so I could pass it on. π
This is a great tip, thank you! I personally own a Kindle but find it kind of redundant when I have a laptop and a smart phone. :/
My pleasure Jace. It’s the Kindle Cloud reader that is new to me. I love this feature!!
I finally gave my Nook HD to my daughter and just have the Nook & Kindle apps on my iPad. All my books in one device which is kinda great ;). I loved my nook for soooo long but just couldn’t get past the much better pricing and availability on Amazon. I will still have a place in my heart for my first e-reader though; I discovered all the greatness of the books we all love on my nook.
Also, Nook has a free app as well as iBooks & GooglePlay Books app. I have all 4 on my iPad & sometimes find that they all have different free books, deals, discounts, & bundles. iTunes cards will buy for iBooks app & GooglePlay has a gift card as well (I love GooglePlay cuz they have $10 cards). And of course B&N cards for Nook app. Happy Reading!!
I have the kindle app on my phone as well as a play books and, so that I can get my books from laptop, a Toshiba book app all on my phone and they are free. I would like to be able to collaborate them all together, have one library, now that would be something!
Hope you close to power source, LOL
LOL Sofia!!! It’s all charged back up. π
