The Longest Ride (by Nicholas Sparks) Film Release Giveaway!!

The Longest Ride <— This hugely popular book will be out in theaters soon! It’s about a…

…star-crossed love affair between Luke, a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia, a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world.

To celebrate the upcoming release of this book-turned-movie, 20th Century Fox is giving away a prize package on my blog. YAY! ‘Cause okay, #1… JUST LOOK who the hero is!!! “Scott Eastwood” <— *HOT* We are all soooooo crushing on him on Facebook, and I can’t wait to see this. PLUS, well… who can resist a good Nicholas Sparks sweet romance? Not I.

So what’s the book (AND the movie) about? It’s about breaking my heart, that’s what!!! But no… just check out this blurb. Tell me you don’t want to see this acted out. Or just read it. That’s gotta be a great read.

Ira Levinson is in trouble. Ninety-one years old and stranded and injured after a car crash, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.

A few miles away, at a local bull-riding event, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward — even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans — a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.

Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.

About the Film

Based on the bestselling novel by master storyteller Nicholas Sparks, THE LONGEST RIDE centers on the star-crossed love affair between Luke, a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia, a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world.  As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke make an unexpected connection with Ira, whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire the young couple.  Spanning generations and two intertwining love stories, THE LONGEST RIDE explores the challenges and infinite rewards of enduring love.

Ashley March 26, 2015 at 8:49 PM

The notebook!

Michelle F March 26, 2015 at 8:54 PM

The Notebook for sure. It’s rare that I really like the movie adaptation of a book (I get stuck in what I think characters should look like or sound like or every detail that’s so important to include), but I loved the Notebook. And this new one, the Longest Ride, it looks really good, but probably needs a break-my-heart warning label.
