She asks:
I’m looking for a fiction/dark romance book, I originally read it maybe 2010ish, found at a used book store.
I believe the male main character is a baseball player and he meets and becomes obsessed with the female heroine, I think she was also married. They end up having an affair and he becomes more and more obsessed with her, I can’t remember how it ends but I don’t think it’s a happy ending.
The cover had an illustrated couple on it, I think the man was depicted in his baseball uniform. In my memory the man’s name was Angel and he was Hispanic.
I’m not sure if that’s something I’ve just convinced myself of or if it’s actually true. I have been searching for years for this book, I’ve googled and Chat GPTed the heck out of it and I can’t find anything.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?? I would be forever grateful.

I remember them meeting in a hotel room after she’d been attacked outside of the ballpark.
tiptoe: Found it! (I think) Moonshot by Alessandra Torre. I misremembered the sequence of events a bit, but it’s one where they have a separation for years before coming back together with all the emo resentments and tangential jealousy and attempts to move on that come with it.
