Oh wow!!! This one reminds me of a series that I loved like crazy, and I think it might be the one she’s looking for:
Sylwia asks:
Ok you are my last hope π I have went thru all my notes, books, as much as i could on this blog (since i read it all the time i hoped it was here i seen it but no luck). There was this great paranormal book I read over a year and a half ago and i sooo need to find it but the problem is I don’t remember the name of it. I know if I was to see the title I would know it because it was different.
Ok so what I do remember was a girl that was by herself (i think) goes looking for a job and ends up in a bar? kinda thing. She gets hired there even though the main guy and some other people are against it. There are random creatures in there, there was a part about a sacred water hole I think. I know the main family are warriors of some kind they are the ones that have the bar which is also a gate way if i remember correctly.
This is a series and that was the first book. IT WAS AMAZING….and i so wanted to reread it and see the next one in the series but cant without finding the book.
Really hope you will be able to help me out. THANK YOU!!!!
Hrmmmm Sylwia… it makes me think of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Night Hunter series (lots of weres and vamps hung out there – and it was owned and operated by the “bears” – a shifter family of bears). It was a sanctuary of sorts, where various paranormal could co-exist in peace (even though they didn’t always get along).
That said, I’m not 100% certain it’s the one you’re looking for, so I’m going to open this up to our fellow readers, in case someone else has another guess, or is sure of what one you’re looking for. π
Ann: Could it be the Afterlife Saga?
Irene: I thought maybe Afterlife by Stephanie Hudson too.
Jolene:Β Rochelle Paige Crying Wolf??
Tessa:Β I read Afterlife, but that sounds like Kenyonβs series. I think itβs either Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter Novels Book 8), which I donβt know if she was a waitress, but with what I remember, she easily could have been. One big thing is if she remembers anything about the hero.Β
Maryse:Β Was the hero the reclusive, young, angry tiger shifter? Or something like that? GAH I LOVED him.
Maryse:Β YES Tessa!!! Thatβs himβ¦ THAT is the book I was thinking of. I was so in love with Wren. I messaged Sylwia and am awaiting her confirmation… *fingers crossed*
ADDITIONAL INFO!!!!!
Sylwia: I wish it was one of those but thatβs not it. It was a new author not one of the ones we all LOVE hee hee. And the family was more of a father, mother , sister and brother kinda thing. It was one of the sons that was the main hero.
For some reason selkies come to mind when I think of the book but not sure why cuz I also remember people with crazy powers. The sacred thing might have been an oasis but i do remember them having to go thru a tunnel or something to get there. This one is going to drive me nuts cuz it had such a love/hate relationship between the h/H with that feeling that we all need to make us feel IT!!!
Oh wait the family was in charged of getting all the βpeopleβ that over stayed their welcome back to the βportalβ that was at the bar. Kinda like bounty hunters. Grrrr Im remembering things about it but not the actual name of it!!
Totally sounds like Sherrilyn Kenyon..not one of the first books though.
That’s what made me think I might not be right, too. And the sacred water hole…
Yeah the sacred water hole thing is throwing me off..hmm

I just wanted to hugr Wren. He was so wonderful. It was either his or one before. I remember reading a scene where someone is cleaning, a girl, and really noticing Wren. I’m thinking it was his book. π

I don’t know the book in question, but WREN!!!!! Now I want to do a re-read. Wren is my favorite shifter. His heart! His protectiveness! His white liger-ness… *swoon*
It sounds like Sons of Judgement Octavians Undoing by Airicka Phoenix. That’s the first book in the series. They are selkies and he finds his mate who is human. The family runs a bar for the undead and they are like the gatekeepers of the afterlife or something.
That is my favorite Kenyon series. That whole series is amazing. The dream hunters as well as the wolves series Within. Acheron, Kyrian , Zarek etc ..I’ve haven’t read the last few books. The last book I read was book 22 but she’s added like 4 or 5 since then. Time to start up again. What an awesome series.
Hmmmm… It sounds vaguely like Ashlyn Chase but not quite. She had lots of paranormal creatures–werewolves, vamps, dragons–hanging out in a Boston bar and a goddess sort of watched over all in her Flirting with Fangs series.
She’s not a new author, but I instantly thought of Under Different Stars by Amy Bartol! Love this series!!
TARA YES YES YES…thats it!!!! Thank you
