Cynthia needs our book help! And actually the first book that came to mind was from one of my FAVORITE authors, but I read it so long ago, I can’t remember the details towards the end of the book (and now it’s a series). I do remember the the first part and it pretty much matches Cynthia’s description.
She asks:
Hi I was wondering if you could help me figure out the name of a book that I read several years back? I’m pretty sure I found the book on your website. I like to read a lot of books you recommend π
The girl was kidnapped by a man who was supposed to take her to someone to be killed and instead he took her to an abandoned house.
She fell in love with him during her time with him.

He was shot and killed in front of her. She then went to live with her parents and had lost a lot of her memory.
I remember a lot about the book I just don’t remember the name lol
Another detail I believe it was her father or maybe her step father was the one who set up her kidnapping maybe to collect ransom money?
After the man who took her (that she fell in love with) was killed she went home to her mother and had amnesia. Her mother was taking her to a counselor and she slowly remembered all the details of everything.
I’m sorry I’m terrible with words lol
Anyone have a guess?
Maryse: This is the book that first came to me: Killing Sarai (In the Company of Killers #1).Β Am I right? Or do you have a different guess? P.S. Hereβs my review.
Maryse: And another one that sort of fits this description – only the beginning part, that is – that I enjoyed (but it’s a super-dark book) was Mafia Captive (so if you’re in the mood for dark kidnap books where one of them decides to keep her, this is one for you!). P.S. Here’s myΒ Book Review

Danielle: I think itβs the Paper Swan by Leylah Attar. Love that book.
Estrella: Danielle,Β that was my first thought too.
Maryse: OH MY!! YES!!! I do remember all of that… It ALL came back to me. HOLY MOLY I BET YOU’RE RIGHT. I LOVED that book. P.S. Here’s my 5-STAR Book Review of that one!
Cynthia: No that one isn’t it either but sounds like I would love it. I’m definitely going to read that one!
Maryse: Okay we’ll keep searching. Oh you will love these books that we guessed so far.
Cynthia: I found it
