Sejal needs our book help! It almost reminds me of the end of book #1 in a duet by Aly Martinez!! It was an INTENSE scene and quite the crazy cliffhanger and had me on edge BIG TIME.
And if I can remember correctly, the scene she describes below is for secondary characters in this book, that become the MAIN characters in the duet conclusion.
She asks:
Hi Maryse,
There’s this the scene stuck in my head and I’ve been trying to find it but I can’t.
I think it’s a mafia.
So the heroine was trying to get away from the hero and she holds a gun on him so she can make it out past the hero’s security.

They make it to the garage and in the car he was trying to save her head from hitting the concrete so he lunges at her

and she accidentally shoots him in the chest and he goes oh f*ck!Β So he tells her to get away and not come back unless he’s ok. Tells his men not to touch her.
So she runs away and he’s rushed to the hospital. I think he had a brother.
I can’t find this book!
Does anyone know?
P.S. ADDED ON AFTER MY INCORRECT GUESS, Sejal says:
As I recall, the scene was between two main characters and took place maybe in the middle or towards the beginning of the middle of the book. I think these two were enemies. Family wise.
And in the hospital, the heroine snuck in to visit. She saw the father and brother outside his room. The brother saw her and knows the father would kill her if he saw her. The father walked away to do something so his brother was mad but he let her in but told her she had to go before the father came back.
Anyone have a guess?
