Riri is looking for this one! Calling all historical romance lovers!! In fact, the right guess might just be on THIS list, since it features “disguised as a man” heroines and a lot of them were historical romances. π
She asks:
I have been really looking for this slow burn historical romance that I read about 3 years ago.
The book is about a lady who goes to the hero’s house disguised (as a man? I am not quite sure) but the ruse isn’t up for long, hero is very smart and realises soon enough that she’s a woman.
Hero had a dark past and was an introvert, he also had an amputated leg and was very rich. His house or whatever it was, was at a dark seedy place.
Heroine was quirky and witty. She was an aristocrat who helped her father with finances and hero now owns a major part of their business (after her father died? Again, my memory is very rusty), so heroine’s main agenda is to acquire it back.
Also, I think she’s looking for her brother who went missing and she thinks that hero has a hand in that too.
Anyone have a guess?
Kimberly: Β I need it, whatever it is.Β π
Marianne: I am thinking this may be Storm and Silence by Robert Thier
Mony: Storm and Silence Β by Robert Thier series is awesome!!!Β But I donβt recall his having an amputated leg π
Riri: Hey MaryseΒ Thanks a lot for this again.Β I found the book I was looking for a couple of days ago. It happens to be Anne Mallory’s In Total Surrender π

A Debutante in Disguise – she disguises herself as a man so she can practice medicine.
Thank you Susan!! I’ll add that one to our main “disguised” list. π
